Eds I've just read and seen you've said a lot of teams have had interest in BVB players like reus and hummels they obv have a quality squad but do you think they will actually go? I'm only asking because they've got a similar structure to Liverpool and if they do that well how can Liverpool hope to keep there players?

London red {Ed002's Note - Two teams have shown interest in Reus and it is unlikely he will move. Hummels may well move. Liverpool don't enter in to this and I see no similarities in "structure".}

Ah cheers all I meant was there the team I recon Liverpool should aspire too considering they don't just splash out money on everyone if you get what I mean?

Spot on Ed! What about Kuba, could he possibly move this summer? {Ed002's Note - I would not expect Błaszczykowski to be going anywhere this summer.}

Quick question eds. I gather Marseille would not be eager to sell, but Andre Ayew looks a great talent, fits our needs, and at only 23 years of age, seems to match our profile. The hype surrounding him after the last World Cup seems to have subsided, and now seems a perfect opportunity for a quiet deal to be done. Do you know if we've had scouts at any of Marseille's matches lately? If so, I doubt they'd be there just to get a laugh off Barton, but I guess you never know! Thanks again. {Ed002's Note - What is a "quiet deal"? If Liverpool make a "cheeky bid" will tehy get a "quiet deal"? As for Ayew there is every chance of him leaving in the summer. Liverpool has shown no interest at this time.}

Ed, thanks for the response! And I knew someone would take the mick at the "quiet deal" mention! Haha, anyway, I was referring to some of the deals that aren't so highly publicized in the media i. e. the Coutinho deal versus the circus surrounding the transfer of players like Falcao. Just an inconsequential distraction I suppose! But what of Ayew's more possible destinations? Who's been interested? Thanks again! {Ed002's Note - Inter Milan, Arsenal and Dynamo Kyiv have enquired but Marseille expect more interest. Marseille are already looking for a replacement.}

Ed002 a quiet deal is when everyone involved shuts the f* up and tells the press and websites jk s* lol

Is he the fella from Ghana we were apparently looking at a few summers back after the infamous world cup where Luis broke their hearts? If so, he looked pretty good in the world cup, can't say i've seen much of him apart from that. Still, my opinion on the player has no baring whatsoever on whether LFC are interested or not. and it might not even be the same player! I don't know why I write on here sometimes!

You've been dying to use the phrase "cheeky bid" since last week.

Thanks Eds! And to the last poster, yes, that's the guy. I'd say despite our current predicament, LFC is probably more attractive than Inter (on the decline in a weaker league) and especially Dynamo Kiev. Arsenal could definitely have more appeal, but would he want to battle Podolski and Gervinho for a place? I've watched him many times for Marseille in the last two years, and he's definitely a born winner. Great pace, trickery, fiercely determined and gets goals AND assits. {Ed002's Note - Right now Liverpool is not an option to him as no interest has been shown.}

Well, that's too bad. but I guess you never do know, especially with football. Thanks for the insight Ed, and please keep us posted on any potential developments!

Evening editors. Absolute long shot I know, but is there any interest in Lamela of Roma from Liverpool? If not us, who else has shown interest? Also is interest in Dede genuine?

Cheers cheers {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath for a move to England but Manchester United were interested before he left River Plate. Manchester City have been looking at him this season and are looking for talks. He has horribly complex ownership issues and would need a work permit - that will perhaps not be as easy to get as some imagine. One other English club were interested but stepped away because of these complexities.

The Liverpool interest in Dede predates Rodgers and goes back to last summer and the players Caniggia was looking at. Recently AC Milan, Barcelona, Juventus, Anzhi, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been keeping a watching brief on the player in the months leading up to the end of the Brazilian season. A bid was made by Corinthians in December but I understand it was not a destination the player would consider and another by AC Milan in January - but they were told firmly that he was not for sale in January. Benfica and Anzhi have both spoken with Vasco since January to see if a deal could be struck in the summer and it seems that is very likely it will but with neither club. The long-term interest of Manchester United may still be seen once more, but their focus is now very much elsewhere. Both Chelsea and AC Milan have made recent offers for the player but neither matched Vasco's valuation. Milan will again return with an offer but are aware that they may not be able to tempt Vasco to them unless they can raise extra cash as opposed to any other type of deal. Chelsea may make a higher cash bid.}

Dede will stay in Brazil, its virtually impossible to get a player from Brazil who has hopes of playing in the World Cup to leave.

Vasco has serious financial problems, and they would prefer to sell abroad rather than to rivals

Was reported over the weekend in Brazil that Dede would be moving to Brazilian club Cruzeiro. Well that's another one we've failed to move fast enough on ; )
LFC Brazil {Ed001's Note - no, it was reported that an offer was rejected for him from Cruzeiro actually.}

Eds. Not really a rumor, just a question. Is Liverpool in for Adler? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Hey ed002, after Brendans recent comments about Andy Carroll do you reckon that maybe Andy will stay with Liverpool next season? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - I would think the club will do everything they can to unload him.}

He's off.

Okey, thank you for answering ed002! Scouserseb

Hi ed's is it fair to say that Williams and alderweireld are top of the defensive wish list at the present time. {Ed001's Note - I really don't know of any interest in Williams, we have never spoken to Swansea about signing him, nor have we had him scouted (though Rodgers wouldn't need to scout him!). The interest seems to be pure speculation from journalists assuming Rodgers will go and get him to plug our defensive gaps.}

Dede, DeVrij, and Diakite have all been linked as well.

Just to clear it up. Toby Alderwiereld has said in an interview with the Dutch press that he would like to move to a club in England with big aspirations for the future and that "Liverpool suit these criteria, not Newcastle. " I fully expect Brendan Rodgers to look into this deal as the player seems to be interested, and the club may be ready to listen to offers. Also, I expect Assaidi will be sold in the summer, as it seems that he isn't as good as Rodgers expected when he brought him to the club, and I'd like to see him replaced by Dimitri Payet or Tom Ince (or both, a little squad depth never killed anybody. ) Ed's, what is the latest on the Ince deal, and has there been anything concrete about Payet since the mirror (I think it was the mirror) did a report on it? Cheers, really appreciate the work you guys do for the community, Brad. {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there is no change in the Ince situation, nor will there be until Blackpool know what division they are in next season. I still don't see us as being his likely destination, he wants regular first team football and that is not certain with us. As for Payet, I don't read newspapers, nor do I have any idea what report you are on about, I only know Comolli wanted us to buy him when he was with us.}

Alderweireld will NOT be joining!

Hi ed's just read that Brendan Rodgers has said he would like to bring in more creative players, do you see the likes of downing, Henderson and shelvey being made available to finance theses signings. {Ed001's Note - I don't think Henderson will be available, Downing and Shelvey are not entirely safe though.}

Hey Eds,

Have we taken a look at Erik Lamela from Roma? Young, talented, and can play on the right wing or secondary striker role. Seems to be a good fit to supplement the attack. what's the story, have we ever had him scouted / shown an interest, etc? {Ed001's Note - I don't know of any interest from us in him.}

14 Apr 2013 17:39:13
Hi ed's although downing form has slightly improved of late, I still don't think he's anywhere near good enough for us. will the manager try to offload him in the summer. {Ed001's Note - possibly, far too early to tell for sure, but his place is not safe.}

14 Apr 2013 17:57:09
Any interest in Gary Medel or Fabian Rinaudo both will sort def mid out well cheers x

Gary Medel would be an amazing signing he is a very good player and would perhaps jump at the chance to join and would not cost that much.

Do any of the eds rate altidore? The big American has been amazing for az all season. Any clubs shown interest?

Thanks
Et {Ed001's Note - no I do not, he is awful. Plenty of clubs have looked at him and come away unimpressed.}

Yes he was unstoppable at Hull all those years ago.

Stop it. He would be a great signing and of course you would bring up Hull. Hull was completely trash. Altidore didn't get any service if you watched the games.

Bit of a convoluted one this Eds but try to stick with me.

With Stoke's descent into the relegation zone gathering momentum every weekend and the inevitable financial constraints in the championship, do you think they will be able to afford the fee and/or the wages they have offered to Butland? And if not do you think both he and Begovic might be going elsewhere come the summer?

I know Liverpool have shown some interest in Begovic and the price will probably be too high, but could interest in Butland be revived, as I'm certain he will not want to be playing in the championship for yet another season?

Cheers

RedSteve {Ed001's Note - they have plenty of money.}

Eds, any plans for andy carroll. would love to see him back? {Ed001's Note - do you own a pub by any chance?}

Was he/is he still that bad ed on the beer. {Ed001's Note - him and Kevin Nolan spend a lot of time getting hammered together.}

Swapping him for Ben Arfa would be a masterstroke. I'd pay another £5m on top if we had to.

Why would we go for ben arfur another crock it took us an age to get rid of cole and aqualani

Great reply, gave me a good laugh

Spot on reply!

Hello Eds,
heard Swansea are going to offer Ashley Williams a new contract to ward off interest in him. Any truth?

Personally if they do so I am ready to support them as my second team. Just don't want Williams anywhere near Anfield except when Swansea play us. {Ed001's Note - yes, they are in contract talks with him.}

Good I don't think we should be after 12million 29 year olds

Contracts mean nothing, as you can still sell, just at a better price. Not sure what sense buying him would wake, if we are interested at all, unless to keep team experienced while youngsters get better!

Do you know what Spurs plans are with Danny Rose, seems the kind of full back Rodgers likes quick and attacking, and although Sunderland have been poor I think he's had a good season

I'd take Mignolet too, if Pepe we're to leave. I'm not sure about his distribution, but quality shot stopper and has a good presence in the box.

Papa G

I can't take anymore paphetic rumours
Williams
Richards
Rose
Alderweid

Mignolet and Rose are both good, as is Alderweireld. I've not said we will sign him was merely asking his availability and as for Mignolet and Alderweireld we are interested in them do you not read the posts?

Spurs are looking at coentrao for left back and alderweireld as a right back centre half

We have Sterling as well as Jordan Ibe & Kris Peterson on the way.

Papa G
Mignolet's distribution is poor. He takes too long to get the ball out. A lot of Liverpools play is possession, but with Reina's quick distribution, we have a devastating counter attack. Mignolet is not a keeper who possesses that frame of mind, he's very slow on his distribution.
He's also small in stature and doesn't come for many corners, which worries me as do his clearances which barely get to the halfway line.
