After watching the Stoke game I have come to the following conclusions. We need to win both of our remaining games if we want top 4, because Arsenal will win their remaining games. They played tonight like we played before the new year, 90% of their passes went forward, not backwards on sideways, and in Sanches they have a player who is better than anyone we have. On a different note, Johnson is just as useless as he was when with us, can't defend to save his life.

Whether or not Arsenal win their last 2 games will not matter if we win both ours
I'm fed up of the pundits and commentators writing us off and making us second favourites for 4th place
I'm sure Arsenal would rather be where we are at this stage - 1 point ahead with 2 games to go.

Several reports coming from Brazil, that we've made a 26 mil offer that has been accepted for Luan from Gremio. Any truth Eds? Never seen him play.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

Boom boom. It's been a while since I dropped a joke. I shall have to get a few more in since they're proving so popular 😁.

If the rumor is true then I don't quite understand this. If I recall correctly from the Brazilian Olympic team, he's a playmaking centerforward in the Firmino mold who roams around everywhere in the final third. He's not particularly fast, likes to shoot from a distance, and can dribble pretty decently. His stats with Gremio show a much higher success rate with assists than with goals scored. He's 24 already, so I don't think we can give him 2-3 years to develop into what we really need, unless he's supposed to be a like for like replacement for Firmino this summer or next. I don't see him as the next Lewandowski or the next Sturridge, so let's just hope it's only a rumor.

Maybe Klopp looking for squad depth and moving coutinho to a number 8.

What Brazil threesome said.
He can play across the front 3 positions. We need more players there. we've seen what happens when we're without Coutinho and Mane. Also, Klopp has already spoken about the possibility of Coutinho playing as the most advanced midfield 3 player, which frees up a spot on the front left.

If the rumours are true and we do get Luan, I think he's a good option. Plays and scores with both feet so pretty versatile. However, I'd still like to see an out and out quick left winger that has a decent cross, unless Klopp's plan is for the left-back to do that job.

Wait and see.

Ed02 if i can ask you about reports linking us with bertrand again- yiu were very strong on him when he left chelsea- anything in the rumours? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I think he would be a great choice Stevie but I am not aware of interest being shown by Liverpool at this time. He would however be a far better solution at this level compared to untried youngsters.}

Thanks ed - agreed with you when he was available last time agree with you again now. Any new links ed? Thanks again.

{Ed002's Note - There is an update in respect of Luan following a representative of Luan having said that the player has refused to sign a new contract in order to be able to force a move to England where he will get the wages he deserves - which is rather ironic as an offer from China at the end of 2015 failed due to significant wage demands from the player's representatives - who I would advise clubs to be very wary of, particularly as the player has complex thir party ownership with his agents and various others (not identified) owning nearly 35% of the player's economic rights. If Liverpool now want to push ahead with a transfer that needs to be addressed first as they have only recently been trying to prove no wrong-doing in the transfer or another player and will not want to be embroiled in any potential further issues.

How come 3rd party ownership is acceptble in some leagues but not others? Are FIFA trying to get a consistent approach?

Agree1 Disagree0

13 May 2017 10:48:40
They have done what they can to outlaw it but in some countries clubs are dependent on third party ownership to survive - and they have no sources of funds to buy the player rights themselves.}
