Valencia want danny paehco part of the deal. Liverpool have plain and simply refused. Suprisingly, valencia are also keen on jovanovic. The deal will be 20.5m+jovanovic. Young will
Also sign for 14m. Both these deals will be announced very early in the window

Editors is our interest in Shane Long genuine and do you think he would be a decent back up striker as some championship players can make the grade like Cahill, Jagielka, Andy Carroll ECT. .

Thanks MarkoLFC85 {Ed002's Note - As of Wednesday night no one had spoken to Reading about him. That is all I know at this time.}

Liverpool have been quoted a price if 25mil sterling for Mata which is agreeable to LFC. Reina has been in contact with his international team mate and sold the club to Mata who is impressed with the ambitions of the club and the style of play under Kenny which suits his game. Camolli will rap the deal up asap, particularly as MCFC have also declared an interest.

Ed is our interest in Mata genuine? Would be a good signing with Marin. {Ed001's Note - yes there is real, genuine interest there, but that doesn't necessarily mean he will join.}
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Ed if you had to say do you think we are leading the chase for him ? If so do you think we will get him ?

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Although there is some interest from Liverpool and it would not be entirely out of the question that the club could move for the player, I suspect he may end up elsewhere. There is certainly interest from Chelsea.}

Hi eds,

what do you think are the chances of Aquilani returning to us? I know Juve has deadline on sunday, and if they won't give in for asking price, I'd say we take him back. You all saw how Meireles adjusted after the King came back, it is very possible Aquilani will adjust too. He is a great player, at least in Italy. With more playing time, he'll probably adjust to EPL too. So what do you think ed's, would you welcome Alberto back to merseyside?

Red Viking {Ed002's Note - Plan B will be to sell him to someone else because he does not want to come back. Chances of him returning are slim.}

Just been talkin to Graham hunter on a train to London he's on revisit da liga he told me Enrique is a done deal, lLorente will be our 3rd striker bought and mata is in advanced talks, he also said Liverpool have a huge amount of money to spend he's in the know an said expect the news very early in transfer window

Slow Down People.

We're Talking About Far To Many Players, With Huge Price Tag's On, I've heard about Dani Alves, He won't be cheap, atleast 20 mil maybe more. But also we're interested in aguero, which would be atleast 30 mil, so that's 50 mil already, Ashley Young Is A Done deal, I've heard so from someone who works inside the club, The Fee Is Thought to be around 15m, this guy is reliable, you can choose to believe me or not. that's 65M, with all this speculation the bill could become 100mil maybe more towards 200m, are the americans realisitically gonna invest that? It would be awesome if they did but I doubt it.

Keep Your Ear's open for the Ashley Young Signing tbc, Expect it early in august,

Two top quality additions to the first eleven is all we need:

- - - - - - - - - - Reina - - - - - - - - -
Johnson - Carragher - Agger - Coentrao*
- - - - - - - Gerrard - Lucas - - - - - - -
- - - - Suarez - Meireles - Mata* - - - -
- - - - - - - - - Carroll - - - - - - - - -

{Ed002's Note - Realistically Coentrao is never going to move to Liverpool this summer. Interest in Coentrao has been shown by Manchester United, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, AC Milan (Waning). Benfica have been in discussions with Real Madrid for a couple of weeks. Liverpool are not in the loop at all.}

13 May 2011 19:41:42
Mario makin has said that "Yes, I am aware of it (the interest from Liverpool FC), " Marin told Bild. "However I am just keeping my focus on Werder Bremen.

"We had a very difficult time this season and it was a struggle, of course, I still like being at Werder Bremen. I suppose we are out to play a better campaign next term."

I believe that him and young would be brillant on the wings Kenny shouldn't look at buying a new left back play johnson there and develop Robinson a centre back will come in and i believe that will phill jones a striker will come as back up but not sure who wouldn't mind seeing defoe or owen or someone else that can come off the bench and score goals

{Ed002's Note - No more interest in Mata then?}

13 May 2011 19:34:54
Dont beleive Benzema will sign after a 30mil offer (euros) was rejected by real from juventus but then again with suarez, carroll and kuyt back on form who needs him but then again he is a quality player and we did pay 35 mil for carroll so we have the money to spend

LFC's planned business (just received email from inside club)

OUT-

Cole 6.8 mill- QPR/ Spurs
Jovanovic 4.1 mill- various clubs interested, most likely destination is Germany
Poulsen- 1.9 mill -K benhavn
El Zhar- 380k AC Ajaccio
Jones-part ex- Middlesbrough
Degen 625k Koln

gross income- £13.18 mill

IN-

Sakho 12 mill plus add ons to 16.8 mill
Payet 9 mill plus add ons to 13.6
marveaux free
Jarvis 4.4 mill
Mata 21.6 mill

gross expenditure £47 mill

Nothing Guarenteed, just a realistic objective set within the club. Left back position still undecided (hence sakho is a priority so CB and LB covered regardless). Clichy (injury prone), Baines (Politics), Enrique(Price vs Value) and Marcelo (Availability depends on R Madrid's acquisitions) are targets, with stumbling blocks for them all in brackets.

Did that get lost in translation? Perhaps its one of gervinho's legs we're getting swapped for mavinga, the rest we have to pay for

Listen the guys said part of the negotiations. If you haven't got anything valuable to say then say nothing at all. Seems a perfectly feasible move myself. French club looking at an up and coming french player. Makes sense to me.

Editor you mentioned earlier on that there is interest in Marko Marin however you said that he is not our top target. Could you tell us who the top targets for the wing positions are. Thank you {Ed002's Note - I think you will find a mass of information about Young and Payet etc. on these pages.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

How is Payet a more important target. Marin is a much better player already and will get better. On his day he will be better than Young aswell, who might be off the ManU.

{Ed002's Note - I have not seen anyone say Payet is a "more important" target than Marko Marin. We know there has been interest in Marin from Liverpool, AC Milan and Cheslea to name but three, but you seem to suggest Liverpool should be grading targets by "importance" - whatever that is. So is Marin a more "important" target to Liverpool than Sanchez, Pastore, Ganso or Neymar?

Not a rumour as such, more to enlighten on a player linked with us.As a Liverpool fan who also has held a Motherwell season ticket in the past and still goes to occasional matches I can say quite categorically that Chris Humphrey is not good enough for Liverpool, even as a squad player we could pick up at a bargain basement price. Plenty of pace but little technical ability and poor end product. Kenny, steer clear!

Werder Bremen star Marko Marin has claimed Liverpool are interested in securing his services for next season. Could this happen ED {Ed001's Note - it is unlikely, as I was discussing with someone earlier, he is not a top target but someone we are keeping an eye on. The interest has been revealed to stir up other team's and to try and increase the offer that is on the table for him. I can't remember for the life of me who it is that is in talks over him though.}

Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd and AC Milan have allegedly been watching him with price tags from £12.5-£20 million.

Steve.

Liverpool will sign two of the following;

Young
Mata
Payet
Marin
Dzsudzsak
Downing
N'zogbia
Lennon

These are the players which have been sounded out, however, the club has not decided which two yet until their current clubs have been contacted and prices have been quoted.

Also from a not so great online source I read even though he has signed a new contract with Barca, Liverpool are after Dani Alves to fill our hole at LB. Make of it what you will

I have a friend who is a freelance journalist and who writes for several football websites and football magazines. Whilst none of these are definitely going to happen he says that there are so many quality sources talking about the following transfers that it means there is at least serious interest from LFC. There are many variables which will effect whether interest turns in to an actual transfer ie; inability to agree a fee, the player may not wish to come, other options become available, personal terms not agreed etc etc. The strongest interest is in, but not limited to, Young, Mata, Humphrey, Enrique, Matuidi, Mcarthy, Adam and Cahill. There are many other players whom the club is looking at and considering. Apparently the Marveaux deal is still very possible but far from a done deal.

Rewflo {Ed001's Note - as far as I can find out there is a mild interest, but no intention to move unless other targets are unable to be bought. It is simply being used to stir up bidders to get him a move.}

To me Marin is a great player but if he isn't a main target does it mean we are after more quality. In my eyes Marin is better than allot of the wingers we have been after (Payet, Downing and maybe even Young and Johnson). Ed, are there other player being targeted with better quality than the player above? {Ed001's Note - the players targeted are the ones thought to be best for the club, that is not always the player that we might call the best quality. It is about who will suit the system and playing style best of all, which is why Taarabt will never join, no matter how much ability he has.}

Afternoon all I just wanted to post something that I lifted of the general rumours page yesterday, i just thought it was hilarious!
"Wayne Bridge and Nedum Onuoha will not return to Eastlands, Bridge may be used as a paperweight for Leighton Baines."

A paperweight! !

Chris in Tamworth

What's so funny? Not that hilarious?! Am I missing something here. Keith Gillespie was the first of many paperweights in transfer history I believe.

Rumours: I've heard we are after Philippe Coutinho of Inter and Motherwell winger Chris Humphrey. . I've not heard much of latter. Have you Ed? {Ed007's Note - Not seen that much of him but he is a tricky, pacy player. Probably one of Motherwells best this season, but his scoring record could be better for a winger up here}

Real Madrid have turned down an offer of 30m euros (£26.4m) from Juventus for French striker Karim Benzema. (La Gazzetta dello Sport) Can't see there being any point in paying over that? I'd say there's no deal in place for him with LFC unfortunately.
On another note, I believe the deal with Ashley Young will be done.Know someone, who actually does know his cousin, now usually I would laugh when someone say's that, but I honestly do, and wouldn't say it to leave myself open to be slated! But I'd say it's pretty much a done deal. I have posted a few times here, so not like i have just come along! YNWA

Top 5 defo transfers for liverpool

1) liverpool will sign a asian player, don't know who yet as it will boost their marketing scheme (might included the youngesta's)

2) ashley young will 99% be at liverpool next year, he wants to win cups. and liverpool will defo win 1 next year the way they are playing and with king kenny and lfc gt the connection of macca n houllier

3) a left back? to be fair i believe we don't really need 1 as we got kelly, flanagan and robinson to switch around with, but none are really big class names, so they will also sign clichy from arsenal

4) another winger, most probably be payet from the strong response of fans, even tho maveaue guy from france has already signd

5) charlie adams, will sign not parker not mcCarthy, or any one else just adams which i believe would be great as i rate him highly than the other 2

13 May 2011 11:59:59
Ashley Young is defenitely nailed on to sign for Liverpool, fee to be around £14m and rising to at least £17m if Liverpool reach the Champions League next season. This is 100% correct i will not lie to any of you.

Ed I have one query / concern. . .seems now all the English teams have started scouting kids in South America. . are we scounting in South America nd looking to add these talented kids to our young squads. . .we really need to do that if we have to keep pace with other teams like Man Utd, Chelsea, etc

James McCarthy to sign for liverpool in the summer. KK sees enough potential in him to believe he will be a quality addition to the squad. Charlie Adam is only back up if they fail to land McCarthy.

Regarding outgoing players:

The valuations we are putting on these players are far too high.

IMO-

Soto 500k
Degen 0
Konc 0-500k
Paulson 1m-2m
Agger 4-5m (shame just too injury prone)
Ngog 2m
Joe Cole 2-3m
Insua 1-2m

Maxi will stay does a job although wages are too high.

Great news on KK and SC

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what FM11 but there are a number of issues: culture, language, climate, partial ownership, work permits etc. There are ways around work permit issues and requirements for a player to have represented his country in x% of games over the previous two years etc. For example, Manchester United sought the support of PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor over the transfer of Javier Hernandez by taking him to a Mexico international game where he showed off his talents. Chelsea have done particularly well in Brazil with Lucas contracted to join in January 2012 and 40% of Wallace already owned by the club. Two further Fluminense player options have yet to be exercised by Chelsea. So whilst work permits are an issue, there are solutions - but not for the English weather.}

Thanks for the take on it Ed! FM11 is football manager. LOL

{Ed002's Note - A game; I understand now.}

Morning Eds

I will probably get a load of grief for suggesting this as a back up striker what bout Nistleroy. Im hearing he's not that happy where he is currently. Could be a good player from the bench and he is certainly proven in the prem?

Thoughts?????

REDFORLIFE

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

He's been linked with us in the press today and it definitely looks like he'll be moving. I believe he's also expressed an interest in ending his career in England. I do think it's unlikely, though - he'd be an unpopular choice and he also doesn't fit into our transfer policy; too old and high wages.

If we were to bring a former Man U player, I do think Forlan would be a tantalising prospect. We've all seen what he can do alongside Suarez. Again, very unlikely.

If we buy a striker in the Summer (which is likely), I think it'd be someone younger - lower cost, low risk and to be used as an impact sub. We have Adam Morgan rising through the youth team, but he may need another year or so.

Hello Eds and everybody else!,

Just a question really about scouting!

At the minute it seems like all the most expensive a best players are South American (Messi, Sanchez, Tevez, Suarez, Neymar, Pastore etc etc.)

So my questions are this;

1. Do we have active scouts over there?
2. Would many young South Americans come to England, or is it their preferred Spain and Italy?
3. Have the Italians and Spanish got more scouts over there?

My reason for this is simple, instead of paying through the nose when they are established, it would be better to get them and nuture them into an established player. There must still be bargains out there(Hernandez for example!)

It makes sense also as they all do seem to have a terrific work ethic and play for the team.

Just another quick question. Is this Sanchez that good?(And I know he isn't coming to us!) but I havent seen that much of him and everyone keeps saying the Italian league isn't that good! and do you think he would be a success in the Premier League?

Last question Honest! What are the chances we are looking at Rodellega at Wigan , maybe another option for a striker, could be good in a better team. Nice bloke too as I have met him a few times, my mate drives him and his family around.

{Ed002's Note - (1) There will be an arrangement with local scouts if not a dedicated team of scouts; (2) Portugal, Spain and Italy tend to get the pick; (3) Yes and other British clubs; (4) Sanchez is a very good player and would likely do very well in England; (5) I don't know about Rogdellega.}

Maybe wrong but i'm taking this from FM11 - when I try to sign the wonderkids from South America it's very hard to get a work permit. When you play on a team outside the UK you can get these players easily because they don't need a work permit so IMO it's the work permit issue as to why English clubs find it hard to get players from South America.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what FM11 but there are a number of issues: culture, language, climate, partial ownership, work permits etc.. There are ways around work permit issues and requirements for a player to have represented his country in x% of games over the previous two years etc.. For example, Manchester United sought the support of PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor over the transfer of Javier Hernandez by taking him to a Mexico international game where he showed off his talents. Chelsea have done particularly well in Brazil with Lucas contracted to join in January 2012 and 40% of Wallace already owned by the club. Two further Fluminense player options have yet to be exercised by Chelsea. So whilst work permits are an issue, there are solutions - but not for the English weather.}

The Daily Telegraph says we interested in Georginio Wijnaldum from Feyenoord. Anybody knows if there is any truth in this? {Ed002's Note - There has certainly been interest in the past and this could be a recycled story.}

Both Liverpool and Spurs have been enquiring at a low level about Drogba. Possible quality rotation striker?

What would you guys think about getting Park Chu Young as a third striker? The only problem I can think of is whether he just moved clubs, can anyone confirm this situation?

Petric {Ed002's Note - He is still at Monaco.}

Morning Eds

I will probably get a load of grief for suggesting this as a back up striker what bout Nistleroy. Im hearing he's not that happy where he is currently. Could be a good player from the bench and he is certainly proven in the prem?

Thoughts?????

Maxis recent form is driving his value up - we are likely to be taking advantage of this in the summer. Joe cole may also leave on loan to QPR but Commoli would prefer him to be sold. Kyrgiakos is out of contract, Jova already has one foot on the plane back to Belgium. He could share a taxi to the airport with Poulsen.

On-loan Insua, El Zhar, Aquilani, Konchesky are very unlikely to be liverpool players next season. Konchesky could be heading to West Brom or possibly back to the Championship with West Ham.

Definite targets are Young, Jeffren, Cahill and Jones. Charlie Adam is being considered as a backup central mid, even if we sign him - he won't walk in to the first team.

The emphasis is on youth, but not like Arsenal - we are willing to spend and will always retain some experienced players.

If you want an idea of the kind of players we are looking to sign - try and think like Commoli. Look at which young players have the most assists, goals, key passes, tackles, dribbles etc. He already mentioned Blaise Matuidi - the best ballwinner in europe, Here is a swing in the dark from me - Marvin Martin (21 years old) - 18 assists in Ligue 1 this season, unmatched in europe except by Messi in La Liga. Also, Commolis main stats resource is Opta so follow them on twitter.

Nextman.

Just been informed by someone who has been talking tonight with Pepe Reina. He has told them he is going nowhere and wants to stay at Anfield for the rest of his career. :)

Ashley Young has been given permission to speak to Liverpool as they have agreed a fee with Aston Villa. I work at Loc8 estate agents and I have been contacted by his people to find a suitable home for him in the merseyside area and being a Liverpool fan I dared to ask a few questions. Surprisingly this gentleman was very open about it. Now I can tell you this because I leave Loc8 estate agents tomorrow as I am moving to Australia on Monday.

Rachael

Welcome to Australia. Have to catch up and watch a game if your going to Sydney.
