hey eds the guardian and a couple of others reporting on our interest of Xerdan Shaqiri being more serious then thought.

So do we consider him as a second option to lallana or is it something completely unrelated?

Believable17 Unbelievable17

{Ed001's Note - hasn't this been dealt with repeatedly already?}

Ed001 I know it has, I was asking more for an update because it seemed like things were kicking into motion.

But yes I understand, I should have framed it better.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - ah ok sorry, apologies, though I have no update to make on it at the moment.}

hi eds just out of curiosity is there any interest in vlaar of villa? watching the holland/spain game and think I must be the only person who never realized just how good he was

Believable3 Unbelievable15

{Ed001's Note - not from us, no.}

He's so average!

My mate is a Villa fan so I saw a lot of Vlaar last season. He looked slow and not good enough.

With Max Meyer our interest has stretched as far as having him watched on numerous occasions I am told. A bid is not likely this summer unless we miss out on other targets. As Ed002 says he is unlikely to want to switch without guaranteed 1st team football and at this time it isn't something we can offer him. The situation could obviously change but as it stands it doesn't seem like a bid is likely.

what about the situation about ROBERTO FIRMINO??

Agree2 Disagree1

What about it? Last I heard he signed a new contract with his club.

Agree0 Disagree3

Apparently the metro reporting that we are set to open transfer talks with Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino.

According to reports in Germany, Liverpool chief Ian Ayre will fly out to open negotiations with Hoffenheim over 22-year-old in the coming days

Liverpool value him at about £15million but could go to £20million to get their man.

Agree0 Disagree1

Unfortunately after you use the word metro no matter what else follows it if it's the sports section 99.9% of it is gobbledegook. I would love Firminho but it's just not going to happen this summer unless something drastic happens.

Liverpool are hopeful of completing a £3.5million summer swoop for MK Dons wonderkid Dele Alli.
The Anfield club have opened talks with the League One club over a move for the 18-year-old midfielder.
The deal for Alli, who is viewed as one of the brightest talents outside the Barclays Premier League, could rise to £8million.

dele ali now that lad if he fulfils his potential could be I hate to say next stevie g but he seriously looks like he could be a really good player hope we are after him but I think I read all the top 6 are interested in him

Agree1 Disagree0

Rodgers has certainly proven himself capable of improving young midfielders. He could be an interesting squad player and keen business at that price if he truly does go on to become a classy player. I remember watching highlights of him a while back, but I don't see lower league football so I have no idea how good he is or can be.

ED´s, Anything about Dele Alli from MK Dons?

Believable21 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new Dele Alli that I am aware of. Liverpool are very keen as we have discussed before but there is interest from elsewhere. I suspect a decent offer and the promise of a friendly would be a doable deal.}

According to respected Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, talks are ongoing between Bayern Munich and Liverpool over the potential transfer of Xherdan Shaqiri, Between £12 million and £15 million should be enough to see Liverpool acquire Shaqiri.

Believable90 Unbelievable35

I hope this is true, he is a damn good player. Let's just hope he hits the ground running.

Agree1 Disagree1

Wot sort of a player is he Furq? Where does he play and does he remind you of anyone? I've not seen him play.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think the only time I really watched Shaqiri play, was against England when he scored that belter! That was about 4 years ago when he was 18 or so.

Agree0 Disagree0

This info has also been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio who is one of the most respected and well informed journos out there. let's hope this is true because I would hate us spending £25m on Lallana let alone £30m.

Agree2 Disagree0

Anything to add or confirm on this Ed please? I have posted but hasn't gone on.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You have known about the interest in Shaqiri for weeks. When there is anything useful to add then we will.}

How real are the stories about Meyer?
Any truth or just made up media?

Believable19 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Max Meyer of Schalke has attracted a lot of attention, including being watched by Liverpool, but a move to England seems unlikely until he has a walk-in opportunity at first team level. I am not sure Liverpool would be able to offer him that. He does however fit the bill of a young attacking midfield player.}

Hi Eds, have we any interest in Bojan Krkić? I think he's still a Barcelona player? Thanks in advance.

Believable2 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - Bojan is a player Liverpool has shown interest in over the past two years but loans to Italy did not go well. A loan to Ajax was not great either. The player has said he wants assurances from Barcelona or the chance to move on, ideally back to Italy. Barcelona will let him move on. They offered him to Ajax who have declined.}

Bojan isn't good enough for us,

Agree1 Disagree0

Hopefully he finds a move far away from us. Maybe one day he can fullfil that potential.

Dear ed, has Liverpool put a price on Borini they would be willing to let him go if met? I hope Borini stays. I really like and appriciate his determination and workrate. He will become a top player I feel.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing money but the club would I am sure listen to offers for Borini - although the player seems keen to stay.}

What happened to this guy?, was it just hype?, or is he any good?.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Generally it has gone horribly wrong over the past three years.}

Still think bojan would be a good signing for us. BR seems to get the best out of players, sturridge being a great example
