Eds can I ask wgat you think of the rumours surrounding gks. Ter stegan, leno, horn, karius? Any truth? Also matip? I've just read- not twitter- that camacho was seen at melwood yday? that's a new one in me! Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has happened in respect of the situation with ter Stegen - you need to RTP about him and the other list of random German goalkeepers. Malaga are very keen to sell Ignacio Camacho but refuse to reduce their €20M asking price. Previous interest from both Atletico Madrid and Napoli has gone due to his persistent injury problems and the hopes of Inter Milan were dashed by the asking price - although they were willing to take a risk on a loan with an option to buy deal given the players repeated injury issues - although he is currently fit and playing. I have no idea what he would be doing at Melwood - as far as I know they have not made any approach to his club which would make a meeting a potential major issue for the club. If they have been given permission to ship him him to Liverpool for a look around the medical facilities when he should be training with his club then that seems a little surprising - particularly as he is playing today.}

One of the mid table teams will probably take him on loan with LFC continuing to pay a portion of his wages. No one's going to pay him 150k a week and a transfer fee to just run around aimlessly. The club will have to make a compromise if they want rid of him this summer.

I have a feeling that we will have no problems in offloading JM as he is highly regarded throughout football. I wouldn't be surprised if he was to return to Newcastle if they stay up and is appointed captain with them paying 100% of his wages.

"highly regarded" what you really mean is English, ltd ability works hard no end product, English international all round nice guy etc. I have pressed agree scouse pride as I would love you to be right. the sort of player hodgson picks instead of dele alli!

I personally think he should be playing the destroyer role. Press, break up play, then pass to someone who has more of a passing range. Like Mascherano used to do for us. Albeit not sitting on a £150,000pw of wages, and with Alonso not Henderson. We could get rid but I'd prefer a youngster being brought through rather than an expensive import who could fail. We don't need signings and another transition period. We need stability and good coaching. Improve the players we have and let's see where we what happens. Why ditch a player who has an average season, sometimes it takes players a lot of time to improve. Be good to see young players get promoted to the first team the academy again. I'd love Rossiter to make it.

Any chance of Karius of Mainz? We were linked this week (albeit we are linked with every name) as a backup for stegen (I wish)

Are journos putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5?

Friend of mine watches a lot of German football says he's a beast, do the eds or others know much about him?
