Just posted on twitter by Ben Smith of The Times in reply to Jim Boardman

"honestly Jim, these stories baffle me. No will on the part of Dalglish, Henry, anyone to sell Suarez. None"

I know its Twitter but he's one of the more accurate journo's on there... not all the time but more so than most.

Just FYI.

Cheers
JJ

Its a pity so as we would be better off without suarez

Really? I don't see how we'd be better of without him. Has he made a mistake... Maybe but where utd better off without cantona or Keane? Have you never made a mistake? Seriously people... Glasshouses and all that!

So all the small minded people are now turning against Suarez. How ridiculous. The guy has passion in what he believes in and wears his heart on his sleeve. Can we really turn him away for that? Yes, he made a mistake in going against the clubs wishes with the handshake, but can we honestly say we wouldn't have done the same thing. The fact that Suarez won't let this go tells me there is truth in his innocence. If he really believed that he had done something wrong I'm sure it would have been dropped by now. He has apologised and therefore should be allowed the opportunity to make amends. Get off his back and start putting faith in our players like the King has. I pity some so called fans, I really do.

Perhaps you don't know what small minded is...Small minded is putting your own issues in front of you club and your teammates, as Suarez has done at Ajax with the ear biting incident and here at LFC with both of the Evra incidents. Suarez continuously places his own agenda in front of that of his team. He has many redeeming qualities such as his football abilities and his willingness to damage his reputation with the handball at the World Cup (which was actually quite the opposite of small minded) however his other actions prove that his immaturity is actually a disgrace to this club. The last time Liverpool had this much controversy surrounding the club was the Heysel disaster. Suarez is a top notch footballer but Liverpool deserve better. How can you insult fans when you probably haven't been around long enough to know what kind of effect this will have on a team? How do you think Glen Johnson feels about playing with a lad who was convicted of saying something along the lines of "I don't talk to Negros"? Your small-mindedness infuriates me.

He never said i dont speak to negroes tho. and glenn johnson was very verbal on the subject. even when others critized him for it. johnson said he is doing what he feels is right

Hindsight I know but if you compare our transfer dealings with the likes of Spurs and Newcastle, it does not make for good reading. Now the Spurs are rumoured to be in pole for Hazard and probably for not much more than we paid for Downing. Enrique and Bellers have been class buys and Hendo has potential but seriously if you were FSG would you trust Kenny or whoever is deciding on these players, with another 50 million or so nett this summer? Moneyball this certainly aint. Love KK but if I was Mr Henry I would be getting concerned. Ed / Macca what us your thoughts?

The Jackal.
{Ed002's Note - THoughts are Hazard was never going to sign for Liverpool and there is no deal with Spurs.}

As you say, hindsight is a wonderful thing. I dont think anyone questioned KK's transfers when they were done. Carroll, although price wise it was over the top, still made for a good transfer and we still hope that he can reach his potential. Nobody really argued the decisions on Adam, Downing, Henderson etc. I still feel that we need to give these guys some time and with a few additions I think we still are moving in the right direction. Look at that balloon at Old Trafford....he took 5 years to get it right.

What planet are you many people mostly neutrals questioned him. Only Rose tinted lfc fans chose not to question kenny. His buys are a laughing stock at the minute.

off the suarez subject, but luuk de jong. has any more interest been made? or are we awaiting to see how good he will do in euro's. i think that would be stupid as he is a great player and would have been a decent price vs what he could be at summers end. decent as in 12 - 17 mil {Ed009's Note - I think, if we were all that interested, we would have moved in January.}

Thats what my thoughts were 009, maybe we dont wanna take a chance and see what he has in euro's i think the guy is class

last i checked like a month ago

RVP at feyoonoord 24 goals 34 games
De Jong twente 26 goals 32 games

so i think he should be looked at a lot

You can add 14 assists to those 26 goals too. I think he would be a steal and I really hope we get him. -SH-

H looks exciting when he plays wouldnt mind a luuk carroll and suarez front 3 in my opinion. i find luuk has a lot of good qualities. and not to to many teams are looking at him

Ed is this true about hazard joining spurs?

Ozone {Ed002's Note - No.}

13 Feb 2012 20:30:37
so hazzard off to spurs? unreal {Ed002's Note - Just rumours.}

Why is it unreal?

13 Feb 2012 19:38:33
ED, with Shaqiri joining Bayern and Reus joining Dortmund, do you think there is a possibility of one of Ribery/Robben from Bayern and Goetze/Kagawa from Dortmund leaving their respective clubs in the summer?

AG {Ed002's Note - Goetze will leave, Kagawa will likely sign a new deal. Robben maybe bound for Italy.}

13 Feb 2012 19:51:01
eds do you think liverpool will try and sign cavani in the summer if we get the all important 4th spot. I know he's a similar player to carroll but i think carroll,suarez and cavani could get us goals next year? {Ed002's Note - I would not think too much about Cavani - he will likely go to Madrid.}

Mate wake up please.... fourth place for us is never going to happen now unless we win every game from now on in!!!

Finish 4th place? Cavani similar player to Carroll? next you'll be saying Kenny is a cheerful soul deep down lol

Hazard agrees terms with spurs how are we not in for him! We will prob sign Jarvis from wolves a right sided downing!
FFS!
The freshmaker

Jarvis is a decent player with heart. Maybe not a Liverpool player but could certainly embarras others with his commitment.

We as liverpool fans need to get realistic, spurs are in a far better position both geographically and in footballing terms to sign the top players. As a front six the lineout of bale, parker,modric, lennon, vdv and adebayor looks alot more appealing to join than that of downing, adam, spearing, kuyt, gerrard and suarez. At the end of the day if neither club was in the CL then sadly most footballers will choose london over liverpool.. MonaghanRed

hi eds answer this for me... do you think these rumors against suarez are true? plzz say no!!! {Ed009's Note - I doubt he will leave, unless he does something else significant to discredit the club, as I have said.}

How come the EDs are in disagreement again?

MansfieldRED

Or a massive offer comes in for him!

13 Feb 2012 18:25:00
Ed is there any chance of Roma's Erik Lamela in the summer or is there third-party agreements there or what? Also would he qualify for a work permit due to him being argentinian?

BLANCO7 {Ed009's Note - Lamela is very unlikely. From what I can tell there are some dodgy ownership issues and, even with that put aside, he only joined Roma last year.}

13 Feb 2012 18:01:39
A contact within the melwood has good reason to believe that lfc will not be selling Suarez in the summer. The club is very disappointed with him and are looking to fine him but believe that if he proves how sorry he is and redeems himself, then they will keep him, although any further incidents that muddy the name of the club will be dealt with severe consequences for him.

Romeo Red

Totally agree. If the guy had any sense he would make a donation to Hillsborough fund and move on from there. You have to wonder what goes on inside his head and who advises him. Genius but he needs to grow up and quickly.

Hi.
Any thoughts on ibrahim affaley (spelling) at barca and James Rodriguez from porto? Would be decent signings

Affelay is out with a long term injury and James Rodriguez is highly thought of at FC Porto so he would demand an excess transfer fee I would think. However two good players that would greatly improve Liverpool's Lack of creative flair.

BLANCO7

Affelay's availability would depend on his performance in the Euros as he is due to return from a torn ACL after La Liga ends.

McAlien

I'd love to see these two here and luuk de Jong we'd be contenders no worries

All this conjecture about Suarez is useless. We should let Suarez himself decide where he wants to be at the end of the season-if he want stay in the EPL OR if he has had enough and wants to go abroad we should respect his decision either way.

Why should we respect his decision he went against kenny, and made kenny look like a mug on T.V Suarez should now play his heart out for LFC and Never leave. :) YNWA

If you think it is going to be up to Suarez, you are deluded.

Those who control the purse - FSG, Standard Chartered, Warrior - will call the shots.

My suspicion is that decisions have already been made.

If you read the post properly I did not say Suarez himself will decide but that it SHOULD be left to him. PLesae read the post carefuly before calling other fans deluded in future.

Some serious over reactions on this site

Respect his decision! have you forgotten, it was his lack of respect for his manager and his club in the first place that poured petrol on the whole affair again. whatever side of the fence you sit on with the original incident regarding racism, suarez could have made a big step in putting it to bed with a handshake, but look were we are now its f***ing embarrassing and your talking s**t lad.

John Henry et al is trying to establish lfc again as the biggest global football team in the world back to where we used to be. A lot of hard work has gone into repairing the damage the cowboys have done. Now do you really think there gonna be happy that anytime we play everyone across the globe will hear opposition fans singing you racist whatever? No. It's going to be much easier to cut their losses and get rid and if possible make a profit on Suarez. As much as I love him as a player this is what I think will have to happen.

Suarez is a 25 year old "adult". He f*cked up and I am sure Kenny has made it very clear that NO PLAYER IS BIGGER THAN LFC.

It's only February and we've still got a long way to go before the end of the season, so I don't think any decision has been made yet. If he can keep his head down, stay out of trouble and put in some good performances than all might be forgiven.

Then again Luis might want to leave, in which case we'd have no trouble selling him in Spain, Italy or Russia, but only for the right price 30mil plus.

He is person you know he made himself look bad not the club cos if he leaves he'll be the one who has to deal with it and Liverpool won't be involved anymore, so liverpool will always be Liverpool regardless of shaking hands !

I totally agree that Suarez has not helped his cause and is to blame, but I believe that the whole thing has gotten out of hand with so many people sticking their oars in.
The case has not been helped by the p**** from Old Trafford spouting his mouth off, guys in the media and campaigners from every racist association throughout the world having their say.
Lets get back behind Suarez and the club and move on.

Nothing should be left to Suarez to decide. What Suarez should do is look in the mirror and reflect on how he completely betrayed KK's trust and faith. KK has put his neck out for Suarez, and it's time Suarez stop his shananigans and start repaying KK for that trust and faith.

No more antics; he can kiss the badge all he wants, but he should remember all of the greats before him who made that badge what it is. It's time for Suarez to shut up, and put up.

alrite eds,what do u no about the availability of mario gotze.
tanks {Ed002's Note - Dortmund have bought Marco Reus, a local player that was on their books as a kid and this will almost certainly result in Goetze being available in the summer. Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were previously knocked back by his club although Goetze has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There is also interest also from Real Madrid, Chelsea and AC Milan - who I suspected were shifting their interest in Ganso or Fernando to Goetze due to persisting non-EU quota issues. Chelsea know that there will be pressure from elsewhere to buy the player - most notably AC Milan and the major Spanish sides - and are of the opinion that a move to England will probably not come about.}

I thought Kagawa would be the one up for sale with Reus being brought in {Ed002's Note - Kagawa will be offered a new deal to ensure that he does not move on in the summer.}

13 Feb 2012 12:47:27
Hi eds, another question do you think kenny will be underpressure? His signings haven't all gone as to plan have they? Carroll = ?
Suarez = liability
downing =useless
hendo=no confidence
So £90 mill player there that could all possible be out of the club next season?
Jman {Ed009's Note - Henderson has been a pretty good player for us this season, if unspectacular. I believe that to call Suarez a liability is somewhat strong, he deserves a chance to prove himself again having apologised for his conduct. Carroll is improving every game he plays - though I admit Downing has been unimpressive most of the season.}

Henderson is growing into his role and also switching positions a lot doesn't help. I think he will be a good player for years to come.

Prelen

At lesaet Hendo is trying to get invloved in games- That Downing goes missing every single time-what a poor buy he has turned out to be.

You never mentioned enrique, who has been brilliant all season, as has bellamy! And suarez is definitly not a liability just because he refused to shake a man's hand, he destroyed utd last year!

1 question:-
Your "Suarez is a liability" joke.
Are u a Manc or a Yank? ( latter being NESV employee looking to asset strip some $$$$$$s)

This isn't the first time he's been in the news tho is it?
Bellamy was a free and Enrique is an amazing player and a huge bargain and I'm so please we got him but the others were for huge amounts of money that haven't lived up to the price tag, albeit suarez. I was just saying could it be possible that maybe some of these guys could be on theirs way out in the not too distant future? I love kenny I'm only asking the question guys!

Henderson is a player who should get more praise. He keeps the attack going rather than cutting back and passing it backwards. Some of his stuff might not come off but it does NOT warant a scapegoat attitue from the fans.

BthekingB

I'm sorry to say that horrendouson would not get in my 6aside team I have tried n tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but come on what does he bring to us ...carrol yes he has a good shot and is good in the air
Downing never been good enoug but can run
Henderson can run like a crab ..I have t shut my eyes every time he's near the play

Am I the only one that thinks Downing was doing really well up until the England vs Montenegro match? He played poorly in that game and has never recovered his form since then

Henderson is young and will in my opinion come good with time, carrol the same. saurez is still one of the most passionate and highly skilled players we have so if he keeps his nose clean and plays well how can he be a liabilaty. the only one i agree with is downing who really needs to up his game

I think henderson has been very decent, although i have to admit theres no spark, but he plays the system well. he is always helps out in defence and puts opposing defenders under pressure, hes got bags of energy! when he gets more confident i believe he will be very class, defo good enough for england when stevie g steps down.

carroll too has impressed, very good touches and a lot more confident. just needs a partner now. hopefully suarez will concentrate on his footy now...

Downing has undoubted talent, but he needs to show a bit more mettle in wanting the ball and owning his part of the pitch. I feel a bit sorry for him on the left because i think he gets a bit overawed by enrique who seems to dictate what goes on and ends up being more of a winger than downing. its much more fifty fifty when bellamy plays there as he demands his share of the ball and shows the initiative to try and dictate the play when he gets it. thats got to be a confidence thing on downings part, as i refuse to believe that kenny would talk someone up the way he has done lately if he did not think the lad could cut it, however i do agree he needs up his game and to stand up and be counted

Thing with hendo is you do not notice him on the wings. but when he plays gerrards CAM he is quite noticable. carroll's confidence is growing. did you see how he juggled the ball in the manc game on his first touch? he would not have did that two weeks ago. he is getting better IMO
spearing is doing great when you consider whos boots he is filling. i expected more from downing tho

My view for what its worth:

Henderson has ability and appears to have much more intelegence then his haircut may let on. With a bit of confidence, time and quality coaching he will be worth what we payed for him.

Carroll, it will always be hard to live up to a 35mil price tag but he is improving and is becoming valuble to the squad.

Suarez, we know how good he is....if he keeps his nose clean we have one hell of an asset and a bargin, if not we'll make some cash.
Downing..........he's got alot of work to do to get into my good books!

Add Adam, Enrique and Bellemy

And i dont think thats all that bad for a couple of windows. Had we taken a few more points from games we should have won i doubt there would be that much conversation on the matter.....except Downing....he really is looking a bit of a dud but i hope to be proved wrong.

I think the top branch made the mistake with Suarez and not Suarez himself. Let's say we sell Suarez in the summer because of that situation. Wouldnt that look like we fell into the trap of just one man? Namely Evra! How ridiculous we would look if that would happen? I believe Suarez made the right choice because we all know he is not a racist and Evra was just being an arrogant chap. Why shake the hand of this idiot? Just to show a good image in the newspapers? They are all making fun of us. Liverpool's top branch should have stood by the player by insisting that Evra made the accusation purely on his bad character.

Except "we" wont make any case from asset stripping our only decent player.
The YANKS will.
( assuming you arent actually another Yank pretending to be a fan!)

NESV are as bad as the press.
Dont give a f*** for principles and the truth. Its all money.

13 Feb 2012 12:25:43
According to Ben Smith of the Times, Liverpool and Luis Suarez are not considering Luis's future in England!

The way you have worded this is ridiculous...what he actually said in simple terms is neither party is considering his departure...the way you put it leaves either result in question

This statement surely means nothing.

Any decision the owners make will not be revealed until the season is over. There is a tremendous amount to play for in next three months.

13 Feb 2012 12:06:19
Hi eds! Could with luis Suarez looming likely to leave now could you see possibly nando coming back to the club of he continues his form with Chelsea?

Jman {Ed009's Note - I don't think Suarez is likely to leave. Less likely still is Fernando's return. Sorry.}

Form?? ha

13 Feb 2012 11:11:34
Suarez will not be leaving in the summer. Aquilani, Cole, Poulsen, Maxi, Kuyt, Aurelio, Spearing will be though.

Isla, Tiote, Ramirez, Bender, Hoilett, Sessegnon, De Jong, Texeira are some names that have been looked at as replacements.

Poulsen had already gone you person ! and spearing !? you mad

Why do you think Spearing will go. KK rates him and he's doing a good job for us this season. I'd prefer him as back up to Lucus and blooding in some other foreign No Mark

You have listed well over 100M worth of average players.

1. FSG can't bankroll 100M spend, this time there are no players of high re-sale value leaving liverpool apart freom maybe suarez who's value will have no doubt plummeted by his recent conduct.

2. the players you have listed are very unlikely to take us to the top.

Thanx kenny....u r always the best!

13 Feb 2012 10:41:54
I think it has been an inevitability that Suarez would make a big money move to Spain, my biggest concern now is that in light of his recent antics would anyone be willing to pay top price for a player who could well be seen as a gamble? Suarez did have a controversial background before joining us so hopefully the Madrids of this world will still be happy to meet our asking price.

13 Feb 2012 09:43:47
Hey eds..... do u think suarez potential departure would be down to the recent controversy...or money? Or other factors like performance? Or possibly a combination..I'm curious to hear Ur answer as it does make sense..unfortunately
Thanks heaps eds
Mrjimmy {Ed002's Note - It will be nothing to do with money or performance.}

What a stupid question!

13 Feb 2012 09:36:53
Question for ed001 or 002 if she has an opinion,

Assuming that we do not qualify for champs league and our only accolade is the league cup. If Suarez were to leave (which I believe is very likely) of the players available to us who do you think would be an adequate replacement?

I ask because thinking about it I dont think there is anyone of a similar ability level who would be willing to join. I spent all day thinking about it and even asked a couple of ex-professionals I know and none of us could think of even one player who is of a similar ability who would be available and willing to join.

Also just on a side note: I was told recently by a friend in madrid that the slim chance we had of signing Oetzil has now evaporated.

Nevada {Ed002's Note - There will be plenty of options available for players to come in to the squad. Don't limit your thoughts to like-for-like replacements.}

Liverpool have played all the tough matches now. We will beat gunners and chelsea at home. I cannot see us missing out on 4th spot

I dont mean like for like in terms of playing style, I meant in terms of quality. Is there really anyone else of Suarez quality available to a team that cant make champs league, hardly chalenges for the title and publicy criticises players?

I think we will have to do some serious hunting to find someone with the same ability level who is willing to come. Really we only got Suarez because no-body else was seriously interested in a player with a spotty disciplinary record.

Nevada

13 Feb 2012 08:32:24
Ed if Liverpool were to sell cole,Suarez,aquilani,maxi,aurelio and kuyt how much do you roughly think they could generate for transfer budget cheers DES {Ed002's Note - That is not how things work within a business I am afraid. As we have explained before the owners will no doubt work with the management team over transfers but I rather doubt if a fixed budget will be identified as such. Much will depend on Champions League qualification to determine the sort of money that may be available, but I am not really able to speculate how much that will be at this time.}

13 Feb 2012 08:30:52
The best outcome for Suarez? Play like a demon for the rest of the season. Help Liverpool win the Carling & Hopefully the FA Cup, push for that top 4 spot we so obviously need & score bucket loads of goals on the way. Then at the end of the season, if he or the club feel they need to part then his stock will be high & Liverpool will make a tidy profit that can be re-invested into the team. If he does want to go then he can leave with his held high & maybe a couple of medals in his pocket & the Liverpool fans might just remember some of the goals he scored & what he helped us achieve & not the other stuff.

The Irish Rover

Well said. dont want suarez to leave as hes a class act but if he does then i hope its on a good note.Would like to see evra and suarez meet up for a handshake if only for the press just so it can be put to bed!
