Hi Eds, I've seen some reports saying that the Valdes deal is off because he's refusing to have a trial with us. Any truth?

Surely a deal can still be done Ed, I don't think we've been unreasonable by suggesting a trial tbh?

Owe ok, a strange one really then, do you think it can be sorted out or has it passed now.

{Ed002's Note - If Liverpool were going to start going about there business in a normal fashion then life would be a lot easier. Liverpool are looking for a goalkeeper. Valdes is an option - as he will be for a number of high profile clubs looking for a GK - PSG, Atletico, Monaco, maybe even Real Madrid if Casillas leaves. Cech is another experienced GK some of these clubs are looking for. It is what it is. Three things to learn. (1) Wait until a player is fully fit before assessing his fitness. (2) Don't put pressure on professional players to try and jump ahead in the business. (3) Stop the manager opening his mouth. He may think he is being smart, but he is being a DF.}

According to Valdes agent "Liverpool didn't ask us to train for four days. We haven't rejected it because it [the story] is false.

"Neither Brendan Rodgers nor Liverpool have ever made us this proposal, at any time."

Ed002 might know something about this:

Is there some problem between Rodgers and Begovic? Their paths must have crossed at Chelsea at some stage unless I've got my timings wrong.
I ask because Begovic was rumoured to be a target before Mignolet signed and he is clearly a better keeper. Rumours suggested he didn't want to leave Stoke, but Liverpool and Stoke are not a million miles away and Stoke are never going to be competing for honours. I can't imagine wages being an issue either, so I wondered if it was a personal issue between them?
I think he's the kind of keeper we need.

As for Migs, he reminds me a bit of David James and Brad Friedel. Great shot stoppers but needed experience of playing at a lower level before they developed imposing characteristics and organisational skills. They both matured in their 30's but were terribly error prone in their 20's and lacked confidence.

Tell me if I'm wrong ed didn't his wife have something to do with the move being happy where they are.

Damn these wives. First begovic recently Sanchez. Too players who would have taken our team to another level.
