My mates coming home from holidays in Portugal and he's text me to say he saw Benteke going for a flight to Bangkok

Can't see it myself. We are renowned for thorough medicals. Would all of the required equipment be available on tour?
I know Remy flew out to America and failed but there advanced with there medical equipment

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2015 03:03:43
De said Remy did not fail the medical. It was BR who blocked the deal for reasons only he can tell you

Is the man u interest a worry or will we agree it b4 they have a chance to think about it?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 22:40:23
Take your word for it! Haha as i have said benteke will NOT become a liverpool player! FACT!!!! Sturridge, ings, origi and balotelli will be all we have come the start of the season! Sinclair going on loan, lambert and borini will both be sold!

12 Jul 2015 22:46:55
With how long our Medicals take i'd say Wednesday/Thursday would be more accurate!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2015 07:10:47
Sienna. highly unlikely that we will start the season in that position. Ballo and origi may even be loaned. Benteke will be coming I reckon. if not then I fully expect us to sign a proven goal scorer. We have too. don't forget that studge is injured

Sterling played 129 games with 23 goals. 1 goal every 5.6 games. You tell me was he a success.

Even bigger news for Ed001 than Sterling leaving - La Tercera reporting that we are after Gary Medel. ;)

Remember watching Cardiff he was CLASS. He has great energy. reminds me of dirk

{Ed001's Note - he is available, but I don't know of any change in our interest. Having said that, I am in the middle of moving home so I am about 48 hours or so behind.}

Heard that Dalglish at sevilla training camp to discuss the transfer of Grzegorz Krychowiak. Any truth?

Believable5 Unbelievable10

12 Jul 2015 19:11:04
Dalglish doesn´t do player deals as far as I know. I would find it odd that we were in for a DM when clearly BR doesn´t play such players in his formation.

As Ed02 has said on numerous occasions regarding transfers plus agents fees plus this plus that great news

12 Jul 2015 18:11:30
BBC have confirmed that Sterling has been sold! £49 million by all accounts. Take that all the way to the bank.

Believable30 Unbelievable3

12 Jul 2015 18:22:31
If only it was all upfront. Probably about £20 million up front, the rest is probably staged payments, add ons, fees, taxes, QPRs cut etc etc. the best thing aside the money is that he's gone now and the club can move forward.

Agree1 Disagree2

12 Jul 2015 18:23:14
Great news but I just hope we really spend it well unlike our last 50 million cash sum which was spent partly on Andy carrol

12 Jul 2015 18:27:04
Now Sky too.

Good riddance you vastly overrated punk. I for one will be surprised if he's ever worth as much again. He's developing Ballotelli-esque mental issues.

12 Jul 2015 18:31:29
Also on a couple more places. Looks tobe true

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 18:32:47
Can't take it all the way to our bank we'll have to drop some of it off at QPR's bank, some £10m of it if that sale figure is correct.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 18:33:16
Fees £44m apparently with the add one amounting to £49. Anyone know what percentage of that QPR get? Eds? Reus next for you boys

Good business by LFC.

Hopefully we learn from our mistakes and spend wisely. I'm pretty happy with the window so far, let's hope it continues.

12 Jul 2015 18:41:22
Thank god. Time for a poll who should we buy to replace grabbing sterling.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 18:55:52
ed001: i thought citeh wouldn't go that high because of FFP?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - only if it was all up front, which was the issue, as we wanted a bigger up front payment.}

12 Jul 2015 19:02:01
Cosgey, I think we have enough players in his position, no need for a replacement. Striker is the main concern.

Benteke seems likely of course, not sure who else I'd choose from who's available. Lacazette probably, but eds have said in the past no chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 19:11:48
Yes I know we need a striker but if utd come in for benteke if honestly don't think he will come as not in C L. I just asked who we should look at buying with the money if available and wants to come

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 20:38:11
Great news, especially that it was closed out in time so that we didn't have to drag the tosser over to Thailand with us

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 20:53:27
But this money has already been spent.

Agree1 Disagree2

12 Jul 2015 23:11:06
Most people laughing about the sale - wonder if Raheem will be laughing when he picks up his PL medal, and other trophies that he wouldn't be winning with us - same as Torres, Suarez. McManaman, and even Michael Owen - yes it's official LFC are now a selling club of decent talent. We should be gutted he was forced to leave, whether it be just BR, or our obvious lack of ambition. Whatever forced him out should be a major worry for those in charge.

Agree0 Disagree2

13 Jul 2015 00:04:05
Nope Chris as the eds have previously said Sterlings departure has nothing to do with transfers coming in 😉

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Jul 2015 21:08:10
Ed001, please don't tell me that we paid AGENTS fees on this one ?
Sterling gets a 5% 'Loyalty Bonus" as well, I think.
JOKE.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - ok, I won't tell you....}

12 Jul 2015 15:13:27
I saw someone ask for an update on transfers the other day and Ed002 said there was nothing new so I'll copy and paste his answer in to save you the trouble ed (obviously there's some things that could be changed like firmino but I've left it as I found it):
Ed002's Note - There are some minor updates but much of this will change by the summer and there are major dependencies on (a) players leaving (b) how much money the club can raise through sales, (c) any change in senior management or the management structure. However, there is known to be (or have recently been) some level of interest in the following players:

GK: Marshall and Bogdan have attracted confirmed recent attention and are viable replacements for Jones. Thoughts seem to have moved on completely from Patricio, Ochoa, Neto (won't happen), Sportiello (unconfirmed to some extent as Atalanta and the player heard about the interest from an Italian journalist), Romero, Ryan and Ruddy right now. The club have also looked at many others including Mattia Perin - who is financial beyond Liverpool.
RB: Wisdom will return and there is aa new deal for Flanagan and Toure. But if Manquillo and Johnson both leave then the club may look for a new RB - I don't see this as a proiority. If Rodgers remains as manager it is not out of the question that Ibe may be tried in a wing back role. The likes of Adriano and Alves have been mentioned by agents as possible options but such players will be expensive and are unlikely to end in anything but tears. Danilo was looked at but certainly won't happen. Folks, I assume because of something in the press, have been asking about Janmaat moving to Liverpool. I don't know of interest but I am pretty sure Newcastle would not want to sell.
LB: Sam Byram has been watched - a move to Liverpool seems unlikely. Hard again to see LB as a priority, particularly withwith the system being played.
CB: A new deal has been given to Toure. I doubt a CB is a priority - at least not before the club clear out some of those already on the books (Skrtel, Lovren, Sakho, Ilori, Coates, Paez, Lloyd Jones and Kolo Touré).
MF: Milner remains very much on the cards. I understand from an ex-German international that Liverpool were very keen on Lars Stindl but he has decided to reject the interest of Liverpool and will move to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer. Khedira (won't happen), Pjanic (outrageously expensive), Vazquez (interest seems to have gone). Even though he has very recently extended his contract, Inter are willing to sell Kovacic (at the right price)and have spoken with Barcelona, Arsenal, Liverpool and Hertha Berlin - the Liverpool offer would need to be doubled to give any sort of chance of a deal. Inter now say they will keep Kovacic as no deal seems possible and will make another player available. However, Barcelona will return with their convoluted offer for him. If Liverpool want to do something it will take a significant increase on their previous offer. Filipe Anderson has been watched but nothing will happen with Liverpool.
F/W:Right now it is something like this for the players that I understand have been looked at:
Mandzukic - Someone representing Liverpool has approached his agent, but as of this time, not Atletico.
Ings - every chance this will go through.
Benteke - interest has returned.
Vietto - talking to Atletico Madrid regarding replacing Griezmann and was hoping on Real Madrid turning to him - has made it clear he wants a move to Atletico - and this has made Real Madrid look elsewhere.
Heung Min Son (I suspect it would be very difficult to make happen as he seems very happy where he is and will be playing in the Champions League)
Carlos Vela (looked at recently but nothing more)
Aubameyang (looked at and there may be interest from Liverpool - he is keen on a move to Italy but the most interested side, Juventus, are now out of the running)
Gameiro (his stock is on the rise but Liverpool have had no recent contact (according to a representative of another interested club)).
Baez (Liverpool have recently been told to say if they are still interested in Baez or not - and if they are to make an offer which is much improved over that offered to Juventud previously - I understand that there has been no response and Juventud are now in talks with another side regarding a transfer - this is probably one to forget now).
Kishna (all English interest has gone or never materialised according to De Boer).
Lacazette (another English side met with Lyon about Lacazette and a number of other issues on April 9 and any move this summer, particularly to England, is not viable right now - Aulas has mocked rumours that Liverpool could by the player).
Firmino (he will most probably move with a number of clubs having made formal approaches, and Manchester City and Inter having had formal discussions with Hoffenheim).
Depay (moving elsewhere).
Bakkali (interest will have gone).
Andre Ayew (a free agent who Liverpool enquired about last summer - looks to be heading elsewhere)
Walcott (if Sterling were to leave then a move for Walcott may be considered).
Cheryshev (if Sterling were to leave then a move for Cheryshev may be considered).

Wish they would hurry up and sell him as long as we don't waste the money

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 15:24:14
I'm sure the powers that be finally realised that the "magical" £50 Million offer they wanted (or hoped for) was never going to materialise, thus the inevitable sale had to take place now or run the risk of "losing" an "asset" further down the line for far less.

The player had again shown his hand this week, even if we kept him, and Rodgers naively played him, I doubt he would have tried one iota unlike Suarez.

Deep down I like Sterling, but for the greater good of the Club he had to go and I;m glad he is taking that parasitic, poor excuse for an agent with him . I might be totally wrong, but in years to come I think he will regret the whole sage.

Agree1 Disagree2

12 Jul 2015 15:34:43
I wonder what he will say about LFC once he has left; I doubt somehow there will be any fondness for the club like there has been from Suarez, and even Torres.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think we should be surprised.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 17:18:07
No £50 million - then no sale, I hope FSG stick to their guns.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 17:24:12
Spot on, Guru! The 50m price tag was a pipe dream and I will be surprised if it is indeed that price but I'm open to being proven wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 18:10:42
£49 MILLION agreed . probably £44 or £45 with add ons! (don't forget the fee we have to pay QPR)

If we are really interested in Pedro than I think Chelsea's "sniffing" may have contributed slightly in the change of stance and the agreed sale.

Hi ed what's the latest on with benteke ? Newspapers today linking him with united . Are their interest credible ?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - They have been interested for some time but to the best of my knowledge have not made any approach to Aston Villa at this time.}

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2015 07:23:15
I read a report on the papers section from SSN that we have made a bid for Cheryshev is this just nonsense ed?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Whilst it would make some sense I understand there has not been any bid submitted. Villareal and CSKA Moscow are still showing an interest in the player, although Villareal will only want a further loan.}

12 Jul 2015 09:12:16
Does anyone rate him? Not seen him play so can't comment. 22 million seems a lot. I'd rather see ibe in the team personally.
