I think that the only goalkeeper who is reasonable and good enough to replace Reina is Maarten Stekelenburg. i strongly believe that Liverpool will put in an offer for him for about 20-35 mill. . . .

I've posted this before. .the goalkeeper Liverpool should and will be looking at is Hugo Lloris. He is 24 and has 20 caps for France. He was superb for Lyon against us last season.

20-35 mil is too much to be called reasonable plus you need to look at Manuel Neuer who is currently carrying his team. He was in the bundesliga team of the season last season and will definitely be the keeper for this season too. He looks almost certain to leave Schalke. United are interested in both these keepers although Bayern also has interest in Neuer. Neuer is being touted at about 15 mil

I'm not so sure you know ed. . Do we defo know it was Chelski who made an offer some reports seem to think it was us?
we know he wants 2 play in the prem and his preffered destination would be Manure, Udinese would like to take valencia as part of the deal. .So i would say they would be front runners. But they also like poulsen so if we were to make an offer of 30m plus poulsen. or 25m plus aqua, we could get in there first. .
What if any do you think the chelski bid was? . .

If Udinese hadn't decided to raise the asking price he would have joined in January, but they got greedy when they heard about the 50m bid for Torres and whatever ridiculous sum it was they bid for Luiz, which I can't remember right now.}

he would not only terrorize any defence in the prem, but also bring out what we paid 35m for in carroll, his ability to head em in from crosses!

Ed i heard from a realiable source that we are interested in wayne hennsey of wolves , i think he would just be a back up goalie to pep i don't think its to replace him , because if pepe ever got injured then we don't really wanna be calling on brad jones.
have you heard of any move for him? i know were interested definatly. how much would he cost £5m? {Ed001's Note - I have not heard of any recent interest, we have enquired about him in the past, but that was prior to their Premier League promotion.}

There is a certain belief amongst the heirarchy that Pepe Reina will request a move in the Summer, so like any good club, they have begun to plan for a possible future without him. In doing so they have dusted off a few scouting reports and started to assess just about every keeper in the Premier League and Championship in particular, plus specific targets in Germany, Spain, Denmark, Russia, France, Holland and the USA. The keepers are being assessed on ability, availability and value for money. My understanding is that the top two keepers from the Premier League, as based upon these criteria are Asmir Begovic and, as suggested above, Wayne Hennessey. This does not mean that any bids are likely for either as there are many other keepers being looked at elsewhere and, indeed, Pepe may not actually leave.

yeh i know we had interest in the past ed , but kenny is definatly interested wether we will make a bid for him or not is another matter but all i am saying is we are definatly interested , have a look at him ed on wiki he seems like hes been decent in the past and ive seen bits of him at wolves recently and looks good , premier league experience , only 24 and is 6ft 5 inch tall. be a good back up goalie , would you agree ed?

Summer ins buying players that are actually possible n not splashing out 90m;
Adam 8m + Kenny really wants him n needs him
Dann 5m + i think. Scouse lad solid player hed love to join and in a position were lacking
A Johnson 15m + incredible young player and worthy for replacing A.Young who sez he wants to join united
Robinson 5m + great english keeper with still a good few years under his belt (if reina goes which i think he will)
Marvaeux Free good signing that will simply add some more width and pace to our play
Wickham 10m good young striker with great potential
And for lb im happy with johnson there and kelly on the right so no need to spend unneeded money

We (the Red Devils) will sign Pastore, M'Villa, Goetze, Chamberlain, Marin and Neuer.
Benzema, Adam, Rossi, Richards, Baines, Mata, Gabby Milito and a few others.
Arsenal will also do a bit of good business.

So a Man ure fan browsing a liverpool transfer rumour site smells fishy to me, i think its obvious which teams are running scared of the mighty reds and there forthcoming spending power, attracting players will never be a problem at our great club were STILL the most decorated team in english football so jog on and go to your own rumour page, although theres nothing to talk about on there pfffttt. .

I have been following this site for 3 months now and have finally got some info worth sharing.
One of my closest friends is the brother in law of a Manager in the Championship (can't say his name as promised not to)
He has said that both the Charlie Adam (£8.5M + add on's) and Ashley Young (£12M + 2 youngsters - don't know who) are done bar the final paperwork.
I have had info over the years from him and has never been wrong yet so I am pretty sure on this one.
The Young deal makes sense as Houlier would know which youngsters he would want for Villa)

i very much doubt houllier would have an idea who is in our youth as he hasnt had anything to do with lfc for the best part of a decade. Im not sayin your mates lying im just stating houllier would have no idea on our youth and young will go for much more than 12million closer to 20million again i don't agree and he is nowhere near worth it in my opinion but he is one of villas best players so he will go for much more than 12 million.

You will have to read through the posts and make your own mind up on those - but obviously most of the hundreds of players linked with Liverpool will not be making the move. As for Criscito, I expect him to be moving today or over the weekend to Zenit so he will most likely not move to Liverpool in the summer. Even though there are many rumours about the lad from Celtic, there seems to be little evidence to support those rumours right now - so he is firmly in the maybe class.}

Not a new rumour but one I have been told will almost certainly happen. Karim Benzema is basically a formality and will sign in July. I like him as a player but am not sure if this is Commoli or the Kings decision, which worries me. John W.
