just a note for every Liverpool fan about Jones, when he went for his medical at OT it only said they had beaten arsenal and spurs to him, at this point we were still preparing our bid and they stole a march. fact we had not bid at that point and as he was having his medical we did not bid (didn't see the point as ssn said it was all but done). as Blackburn have come out and said no fee agreed we have now decided to bid.
he made a choice with what was on offer he had arsenal with more people leaving each day or a one season wonder in spurs. he obviously chose Man u lets wait and see what happens and if he does join us back him all the way.
oh and if i am not mistaken it was that red top paper who are pro man u that said they beat us to the punch and as we know they have been lying for years.

Manchester United's multi-million pound signing of teenage defender Phil Jones from Blackburn Rovers lies in tatters.
Blackburn's Indian owners have reacted furiously to what they perceive as United's attempt to railroad them into selling the 19-year-old and have told United: 'We will not be bullied'.
And in a stunning 11th-hour development on Saturday, the Mail on Sunday can reveal that Liverpool have told Blackburn they will pay £22million for Jones, a move that will ruin Sir Alex Ferguson's holiday mood as he takes a break in the south of France.

Arsenal have also belatedly submitted a bid that tops United's £16.5m offer, and with Chelsea showing serious interest in the player, too, an auction appears to be unfolding. It will come as a bitter blow to Ferguson if he misses out on Jones, and it will sting all the harder if the player ends up at United's fierce rivals at Anfield.
Rovers' owners have been angered by United's attitude and at a meeting on Saturday in Pune, India, which was attended by manager Steve Kean straight off a plane to Mumbai they resolved to prevent the deal going through.
United have offered to make Jones the highest-paid teenager in the history of English football with a startling £80,000-a-week contract, but Blackburn are even prepared to top that.
Rovers chairwoman Anuradha Desai made it clear to Kean and fellow executives, who made up a 'war council' in India, that they must try to persuade the defender to stay. The prospect of being a future club captain is also being dangled before Jones.

Money is said to be 'not an issue' for Desai's family, who are billionaires through their Venky's poultry conglomerate.
They want to keep their best players, especially homegrown talents such as Jones.
But if they fail to persuade him, they will do all they can to elicit the best price from one of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, United or Tottenham, telling Jones: 'If you go, you go where we get the best money.'

A source close to Rovers said. 'United can't do what they want in this case. Jones is a Blackburn player and while there is a clause that could mean he leaves, it's far from the straightforward issue everyone assumes it to be.'
Jones signed a United shirt for fans while training with England's Under-21s in Denmark on Friday and, along with his representatives and United, had thought the transfer was a formality.
The player wants to join United but it is not known whether he has even been informed yet that Liverpool have made a bigger offer.

A major headache for United is in the interpretation of the release clause in Jones's contract. They triggered it with their £16.5m offer and were allowed to talk to the player as a result.
But Rovers have taken legal advice and insist the clause does not force them to sell to the first club to meet the figure.
The biggest loser in all this could be England Under- 21 boss Stuart Pearce.
He would not name his team on Saturday night for the opening game against Spain as the possibility of the transfer deal distracting the versatile defender grew.

I hope I share the view of fellow LFC fans when I say that Phil Jones can go and f**k himself, he has made is very clear where he wanted to play and who he wanted to play for, didn't want to come to our club then so why should be welcome him with open arms now his transfer to United is up the creek.
Scott Dann will be cheaper and is from Liverpool, I reckon he would give his all for the shirt and the team which is what we need.

I agree that if he wanted to join Man Utd then we don't want him, but:
1) If we bid more money for him at least it will take up more of their time and money to match our bid; time and money that could have been used on other targets.
2) If Jones did sign for us just think how pissed of Fergusson would be!

Now for some rumours, few of my sources have no clue whats going on, noone is really sure what kk and dc are doing they are keeping it quite even to the players and first team coachs. Have heard 1 or 2 things tho, Qpr hav showed interest in Nabil El Zhar, also an interest to loan Jonjo Shelvey. Swansea want Kelly on loan as well. Poulson has been told he has to leave and liverpool are willing to pay him 2 months wages in a package to make him take a pay cut to leave. Liverpool are looking at brazilian wonder kid Detinho from Corinthians, but i mean looking, im not saying theres been a bit or interest publically shown they are just looking but he is good. Also Mustapha Dumbuya very young and British, seen a scout report on him and a few videos the scout report stated he was the quickest player he had ever seen (not liverpool scout it was for doncaster) he is quick and has skill.

According to reports in Spain Juan Mata looks set to be the next big signing to arrive at Anfield as Liverpool switch their sights to the wings after completing the signing of Midfielder Jordan Henderson.
The 23 year old Spaniard has spent the last four seasons with Valencia after arriving at the Mestalla Stadium from the Real Madrid B team however he has long been linked with a move to Liverpool firstly under Rafa Benitez and now under Kenny Dalglish.
Mata would add some genuine creativity to the wing, something that has been missing at Anfield for a long time, and last season scored 8 goals and created 12 as Valencia claimed 3rd spot in Spain despite selling David Silva and David Villa.
Mata is rated around the 20 million mark and given that Liverpool appears to have a sizeable transfer budget this summer, a move could be on the cards.

Cirel who works in the bulldog coffeeshop in amsterdam says he has in side knowledge and reckons liverpool will sign erickson with pacheco going in the other direction on loan.

He went to her house on tuesday, before setting off to Jamaica on his hols, as my sister was doing his gf nails. He spoke openly about Liverpool. He was told by kd that we are looking to bring in a quality forward and that he was going to find it very hard to get game time and can look for another club. From what he said Everton are very interested in signing him. When pressed on who the forward was he said he didnt know, kd would not say. He said hardly anyone knows what is going to happen next, he also went on to say there will be around 6 new faces this summer, as a few others have been told they can look for other teams aswell but he did not say who. So for the people who claim to know a lot i will always have my doubts! Anyway great site i realy enjoy reading all the posts, even the really far fetched ones!

The player i was speaking about is Nathan Eccleston. There were pleanty of clues, such as, position, club interested etc. as i didnt really want to drop his name in, however he was very open with the info so, cant see that mentioning his name would be a problem. I dont know if the lad has a twitter page so you can check where he is on hols? I have nothing to gain by this, just stating what i was told.
Dont know if any of the ed's can confirm if there is interest from Everton??

Valencia were spoken to as well and they have indicated a willingness, even a desire to sell the player, for the right price. But they are just not looking to agree a deal until after the lad has had a chance to impress for the U21s, in the hope he will increase his value by playing well.}

Mata to LFC agreed. 19 million + Pacheco, Valencia wanted Pacheco and his family want to go back to Spain. From a very reliable source, (physio at LFC academy). Deal got agreed on Wednesday, wont b made official until the 1st July.

I am fortunate to have been asked to take part in a charity football match against a team of Liverpool Legends on Sept 4th at Daventry Town FC. Myself and the other LFC fans selected to play are raising as much as we can for Help for Heroes and The Hillsborough Families Support Group.

Big, big news is going to break in the coming weeks guys!
I have been tipped off by a colleague (I work within the media) that Liverpool are about to send shockwaves around the Premiership, with a double swoop of the highest quality.
On 1st July they are, as expected going to announce Juan Mata's signing for circa $23m. But unbelievably this figure will be eclipsed immediately with the unveiling of Edinson Cavani from Napoli for a staggering $38m-$40m!
I realise this is a mind-blowing revelation, and to be honest I would never have believed it to be possible. But, my colleague is a highly respected UK journalist, and although he has no direct links with the Liverpool heirachy, he does deal with people in high places at a couple of London clubs, and insists the deals have got a few feathers ruffled at said clubs.
I am 100% certain my colleague wouldn't claim to know something, if he hadn't got some info from a trusted source.

Please don't be so quick to discard this information. I am assured that the Cavani deal is going to be THE big summer transfer story. It appears that Liverpool have tied up Cavani, while the rest of Europes big boys watch the Aguero situation unfold.
I have a feeling the link between Napoli and Aquilani may be connected in some way. I doubt it would be a part-exchange, but Liverpool may well have offered Napoli the player at a discounted price.
With Cavani and Mata set to join Luis Suarez in a new look strike force, questions will be raised as to where Andy Carroll fits into the Dalglish masterplan.

Hi all, my mate told this afternoon that liverpool have been looking in spain to solve our winger problems ie greizmann, mata, jeffren, affelley, joquain, canalas, pedro leon and perrotti. He said that commoli and king kenny think spainish players would suit our league more rather then the Italian and other european league.
Can people stop slagging off kennys buys ie carroll and henderson they are the future of our team. We paid 35m and 17m for carroll and henderson say they stay there for 10 years that works out to be 3.5m and 1.7m per season. I for one think we need british players within the team, I know we have got a lot of british youngsters but they need time to blossom.
We have to trust kenny's judgment as it has to be better then some of roy and rafas signing. Kingplfc ps love the site

Ed, whats the latest news on Eden Hazard? thanks {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed really. Hazard signed a new contract with Lille and if he cannot get a move that suits him (Barcelona and Real Madrid were his preference) then he could stay and play in the Champions League next year. Juventus are very keen but cannot offer football at the highest level right now. Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus, Real Madrid, Spurs and Barcelona have shown interest or admiration for the player. I would not be surprised to see Manchester United throw their hat in to the ring as well as I have speculated elsewhere. If he does move and I was pushed for an answer, I think he could end up in Italy, possibly at Inter. The recent Liverpool bid rumours seem to be little more than the recycling of the story of Damian Comolli asking to be kept informed of any movements for the player and this is several weeks old. If it were Arsenal or Liverpool I would say Arsenal have the edge.}

By the way from the person that accused me of being a gooner...They are about to sign Gervinho (an african Suarez but much much chraper), Benzema, Sakho or Cahill, and Aly Sissokho. They are also trying to persuade M'villa to join but PSG have offered him a massive extention to his contract due to new wealthy owners. So my friend even if Arsenal sign 3 out of 5 of these players I would fear them. Take your blinkers off constructive criticism of LFC is valid. Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and spam are gonna buy big and with the lack of resources and allure compareably to the others we wont finish top 4. This is not a criticism of KK but merely highlighting the reality. Champions league is not forthcoming anytime soon. We have to build foundations and infastructure rafa sowed the seeds with the academy and now hopefully kk and dc will progress the project by buying well with the resources they have. But you have to question his judgement when he pays £55 million for Caroll and Henderson and for the same price whiskynose gets De Gea, Jones and Young???? If someone agress with me say yay....JARI_L

I have been tipped off by a colleague (I work within the media) that Liverpool are about to send shockwaves around the Premiership, with a double swoop of the highest quality.
On 1st July they are, as expected going to announce Juan Mata's signing for circa $23m. But unbelievably this figure will be eclipsed immediately with the unveiling of Edinson Cavani from Napoli for a staggering $38m-$40m!
I realise this is a mind-blowing revelation, and to be honest I would never have believed it to be possible. But, my colleague is a highly respected UK journalist, and although he has no direct links with the Liverpool heirachy, he does deal with people in high places at a couple of London clubs, and insists the deals have got a few feathers ruffled at said clubs.
I am 100% certain my colleague wouldn't claim to know something, if he hadn't got some info from a trusted source.

We are not going to be signing Charlie Adam. There are currently no offers on the table for him from any clubs. Everton and Sunderland have regiatered their interest with his agent but Liverpool havn't even contacted his agent over a possible transfer. I don't think we will be signing another first team central midfielder this transfer window.
We are still haggling over Clichy's fee but his agent has said that he wants to join Liverpool and Wenger has been informed. I expect a deal to be done and announced soonish.
Sunderland have put in the first bid for Conor Wickham early this afternoon. Ipswitch have already rejected the £5M bid. We have yet to put in a bid or register our interest with the players agent. The deal won't be completed by any club until he returns from the U21's.

Clichy - LFc will try to sign him as long as we can get him for 5M-8M. IF not, LFC will switch attention to ALy Cissokho.
Charlie Adam - Expected to move to LFC for 8m-10m.Deal will expected to be done sooner since Adam keen to move to Anfield.
Stewart Downing - Also interested to join LFC. Will sign for 10-12M.
Scott Dann - Talk between both parties will start soon if Dann's injury is not a problem in long term based on doctor's recommendation. If not, LFC maybe go for Kjaer, Silvestre, Hummels, or Sakho.

I know everybody is underwhelmed by KK'S transfer targets. I have it on good authourity we made enquiries for Sanchez, M'villa, Sakho, Gervinho, Javi Martinez (got hendo instead) Hazard, Sissoko etc but we just dont have the lure we once had. Guys I admit I was wrong about the Javi Martinez deal he was a certainty but he changed his mind so we signed Hendo) Ive been telling you for weeks Downing is a done deal (clubs are haggling over price) dont expect Marquee players just over-priced British mediocrity. Adam, Wickham, Dann and Marveaux. Mata wont be coming anywhere near Anfield there will be a bidding war from him expect him to go to City especially if scum or Barca get Sanchez. Im worried about the silence of Chelsea, City, Arsenal etc we are filling our boots buying all these overpriced British garbage and the rest will buy value for money excellent foreigners...and well suffer because the players well buy are just not good enough! Who would you rather have Scott Dann or Sakho? M'villa or Charlie Adam? Gervinho or Wickham? Mata or Downing? All my info comes from a football agent who gives me up to date snippets but football transfers are fickle and collapse at any stage for any reason. i.e Martinez. Adam's deal hasnt gone through yet as he was playing for scotland in the nations cup and then wanted to finish his holiday before making decisions on his future.
Clichy and many other players want out. Italian clubs are after Clichy but he wants to stay in premier league football. Nasri will only go if Arsenal dont sign some top class players to show theyre moving forward. And he's definatley not coming to Anfield.
Aguero is not coming. Simple. I doubt he ever will.
Mata will sign in July for just over 20m
Back up centre back is hard to tell as we're linked with so many players. Personally I think we should buy Scott Dann. He's 23. English and strong and is 6"2.
Other winger again is difficult. I hope we try bid for Adam Johnson as I think he'd do great at Liverpool. But I have a feeling we'll get Downing, which im happy with.

Marveux on a free agent ive heard rumours about that he is a defensive midfielder, only 24 year old. Rumours about Alonso returning but i 99% know he wont be coming. We can forget about Aguero.

henderson is already a done dea, Adam is meant to be signing in couple of weeks hopefully, Mata is 99% coming to the club just need his signature after the under 21's. Clichy doesnt want to sign contract with Arsenal and we have shown the most interest for him and Arsene Wenger will want to sell him before he goes for a free agent. Ed, in the january transfer window there was talk of Liverpool signing Elia, and he wants to move there. Is there any chance of us targeting him this summer? {Ed002's Note - Elia looked nailed on for Valencia and I think may be a good prospect. Liverpool walked away from the asking price in January but may be interested again. If not, I suspect he may stay another year in Hamburg. Arsenal have also shown an interest.}

Hi Ed, can you shed any light on the left back situation? Ages ago the whole Phil Thompson saying we had basically signed Enrique seemed to indicate it was a done deal......but now with Clichy, do you know whether we have actually placed a bid? I for one would prefer Clichy over Enrique, in the Arsenal team he often gets exposed by the lack of defensive cover from left midfield and holding midfield. I feel he'd fit into LFC well though as we are more solid defensively as a team which would give him a platform to use his attacking talents and not leave him so exposed when we don't have the ball. Would still prefer Vargas over both of them though!
Also, reading the posts on us not being 'in the hunt' for Phil Jones.......just because he has opted for OT, why are people now pretending we were never interested in him??!? I would have expected DC to have been in for him, he is one of the top young talents in the English game and to be honest if DC wasn't 'in for him', why the hell not, he should have been if he was doing his job correctly. Sometimes we just need to accept a player didn't fancy joining us, end of.

I do not believe players choose a club based on if they are in the CL right now, but on the prospects of them playing regular CL football - I genuinely believe we will be doing that in the coming years and any players who don't buy into to that are not worth chasing imo. There is prob only one team that can offer him £200k a week and that is Citeh, who can offer him CL footy this year, but regularly?? I'm not saying he will come to us tho, my guess is he will be Sjneiders replacement at Inter when he moves to Chelsea to play under Hiddink.

Spanish newspapers report that monreal is on his way to Malaga. I doubt very much that we will sign sahko either as his club was very recently bought by super rich Arabs a la sheik city. According to reports in Spain Juan Mata looks set to be the next big signing to arrive at Anfield as Liverpool switch their sights to the wings after completing the signing of Midfielder Jordan Henderson.
The 23 year old Spaniard has spent the last four seasons with Valencia after arriving at the Mestalla Stadium from the Real Madrid B team however he has long been linked with a move to Liverpool firstly under Rafa Benitez and now under Kenny Dalglish.
Mata would add some genuine creativity to the wing, something that has been missing at Anfield for a long time, and last season scored 8 goals and created 12 as Valencia claimed 3rd spot in Spain despite selling David Silva and David Villa.
Mata is rated around the 20 million mark and given that Liverpool appears to have a sizeable transfer budget this summer, a move could be on the cards.
Mata is currently on duty with the Spanish under 21 side at the UEFA under-21 European Championship, where he is tipped to one of the stars of the show.

Liverpool are struggling to reach a compromise pay-off agreement with Milan Jovanovic in order to move the Serbian international on.
Anderlecht and FC Brugge have offered Jovanovic, 29, a return to Belgian football but the former Standard Liege striker is not prepared to take a considerable cut on his £60,000-a-week wages.
He is said to be chasing a one-off payment of around £2.5million to leave.
Jovanovic's preference would be to join French champions Lille but there has been no firm offer for the 29-year-old, who is currently recovering from knee surgery.

The Mestalla side apparently though better off financially still face a battle to keep Mata from leaving the club he has represented for the past four seasons, following his move to the club from the Real Madrid's B team.

Kuyt indeed may be seen as a player who can support the club's attack by reverting to his natural position as a striker, a role that he filled for large spells of last season which was the former Feyenoord man's most prolific in a Liverpool shirt.

with all the transfer movement in to the club, when are we going to see some cash from sales, the more players that come in may meen the less value out going players will make, we do not want to be lumbered with to much of a wage bill.

Liverpool to sign Charlie Adam in the next week along with Clichy.
Adam's deal hasnt gone through yet as he was playing for scotland in the nations cup and then wanted to finish his holiday before making decisions on his future.
Clichy and many other players want out. Italian clubs are after Clichy but he wants to stay in premier league football. Nasri will only go if Arsenal dont sign some top class players to show theyre moving forward. And he's definatley not coming to Anfield.
Aguero is not coming. Simple. I doubt he ever will.
Mata will sign in July for just over 20m
Back up centre back is hard to tell as we're linked with so many players. Personally I think we should buy Scott Dann. He's 23. English and strong and is 6"2.
Other winger again is difficult. I hope we try bid for Adam Johnson as I think he'd do great at Liverpool. But I have a feeling we'll get Downing, which im happy with.

3rd Day in Blibao and a little more progression. Bojan or Jefren are very very unlikely to go to liverpool as they will be used to lure sanchez from udinese (jefren) and Rossi from Villareal (Bojan) they may also use other talent from the B team that have not broke through such as Nolito. everyone I have spoke to expects barca to have 3 new signings sanchez rossi and cesc this spending will be near 90 million and people may doubt this because they say they have 40mill to spend however from sales and other finances they will tie up the deals. I was told that a bid for Mata by LFC was already put in Thursday and they seem to be keen as it was around 24m euros which is around 22m + add ons. Llorente may snub Real as he has his eye on first team football so he could stay or go els where unless Jose can show his intent to sign him. Banega has not decided he's future but the likelyhood of Mata going so would he to I expect Italy, no bid from liverpool yet just scouting back in Apr. Munian is a no go. RedDazz Henderson was high on whiskey nose list as a full time replacement for Scholes! The boy created 79 chances the third highest in the league! Don't believe check the stats! The boy can play cm and rw which he proved for Sunderland and most of all the boy wants to play football he wants to learn and improve and money was never an issue! So on to young and jones! Jones yes they "stole him from us" but has he signed yet?? No I'm not saying he won't but what's to say he doesn't get injured in the u21 and deal fall through! Young I don't rate as neither do my united friends! But trust the Henderson signing! I think this kid is gunna be BIG for us!

Catania have claimed that Liverpool are interested in their Argentine defender Matias Silvestre.
The versatile 26-year-old has been playing for the Serie A club for the past three-and-a-half seasons, having arrived in Italy from Boca Juniors in January 2008.
His performances over the past 12 months have been particularly impressive and Catania general manager Pietro Lo Monaco admitted in April it was probably time for him to move on to a bigger stage.
Lo Monaco has now declared that Liverpool are among the clubs chasing Silvestre's signature, along with Villarreal and a couple of Italian rivals.

We are not going to sign Aguero, He has said himself, he wants to stay in Spain. And he would not come to Liverpool because we have no CL. Plus we will not pay him the 200k a week. He is not going to take a pay cut when so many other clubs want him. and will pay his wages. Plus he is to similar to Suarez, they would not work together.
