Hi eds, any update on whether we're going to re-sign Tom Ince? {Ed001's Note - nothing new.}

11 Dec 2012 23:12:25
Just heard from a lad from my local (whos good mates with Mike Marsh) that Liverpool have been talking to Villarreal about some player called Matteo Musachio. Said he was a beast of a player as well. Anyone know anything about him?
Milky Joe :)

Musachio is an awesome player, do u know anything about this eds?
i know he was scouted before br arrived.... and is defend the area we want to strenghten?

Yea mate Musachio is a beast. He's Sout American whit good first touch, good in the air .... And he's young aswell!

Young central defender,would not be a surprise if we would be interested

Yeh good player but built like a bookies pen and more injury prone than Jamie redknapp

I am hearing that Sturridge has refused to move to LFC. Most of you will please pleased to hear this no doubt...

Thommo

His loss if true

Our gain too we can do better than him personally walcott and huntelar

Not according to todays papers. Reports say Sturridge and Ince to resign January.

Hunterlar wants to go to arsenal he said so himself! and Surridge sees coming to Liverpool as a Step in the wrong direction as he doesn't see us as a top 4 side any more! as for Walcott he's demanding £100,000 a week which is ridiculous. And Tom Ince was released by us so cant see him wanting to come back! i think he will go elsewhere.

11 Dec 2012 22:17:49
Someone from VILLARREAL CF will sign in January. I don't know who sorry but all I know is he plays for them.

Thanks

I've noticed when people use CF and CAM they play FIFA and are living in a dream world of their own

No Villareal CF is the name of the club, he's not referring to positions

12 Dec 2012 11:09:57
He means club futbol mate.

Ha ha, funny. Tried to dis him and fell on his face!

Sorry, it is funny though.

Poster 2 did just make himself look like a mug. Lol better luck next time

Ben

(PS The unsigned Original Poster seems legit)

Daniel Sturridge is pretty much done and we are expecting it to be fully complete in the first week of the transfer window.

97

Bloody hope not!

If Daniel Sturridge is the best liverpool can do dont expect to win the prem for another 20 years Daniel Sturridge is not going to get us 20 goals a season and he is greedy and there no way i would not pay 15mil for that sorry

He is worse than andy carroll.

His always injured!

Give Sturridge a break please if he comes like all players I will support him and give him a chance as long as you see passion commitment and hard work you know they're trying and personally I think the lad will have a point to prove.chelsea and city are clubs with big star players and egos he was never gunna get a chance there but look when he moved to Bolton he had to work and play as a team and thrived .
Suarez borini Sturridge not bad strikers to have at the club ay

I agree that he could do well for us. tbh i would be suprised if anyone signed for us with the amount of s**t they get of people on here

I just wonder if he is as nailed on as Clint Dempsey was.

Half the people knocking him are probs the same people that said Defoe was good enough for liverpoolwhen we talked about going in for him.... Sturridge is a natural born finisher.

Surridge is a joke an at £15 mil! no wonder were the laughing stock of the league! Is this the best we can do?.... Bad Times ahead.If we never had Suarez this season we would be fighting relegation! i hate that we rely on one man

Personally i dont sant sturridge but to say we are the laughing stock of the league if we signed him is laughable, he was top scorer for chelsea last season a team that won the champions league and fa cup, he is a good player but would prefer different signings

11 Dec 2012 19:31:43
Eds, do you know if we have any interest in Burak Yilmaz? Do you rate him? How much will he go for?
Thanks. And Thank you Macca for that info on Sterling.
Noski {Ed002's Note - Burak Yilmaz has attracted interest in the past nine months from Sevilla, Spurs, Fulham, Dortmund, Beyer Leverkusen and Newcastle. There are also unconfirmed rumours of interest from Liverpool dating from as long ago as early June. Lazio and Lokomotiv Moscow have both spoken with the player after the clubs agreed that they would meet the asking price from Galatasaray - but I would think that has now risen with his recent performances. Atletico Madrid are very keen to discuss a move for the player but I suspect that a move before the summer is looking unlikely.}

11 Dec 2012 19:24:29
Ed is it true that sturrige is more less a done deal cheers.MATTYLFC {Ed002's Note - Matty, Liverpool has made an enquiry to see if he would be available for a transfer and he is if an acceptable bid id made to Chelsea and Liverpool make an acceptable offer to teh kid. It has a little way to run right now.}

11 Dec 2012 19:15:17
liverpool in talks with crystal palace over the loan of
a striker ? {Ed002's Note - Would Suarez want to see the season out in London?}

11 Dec 2012 20:25:59
Nice one Ed, you really crack me up sometimes.

Keith

Maybe we loan them Pacheco as part of a deal for Zaha?

11 Dec 2012 18:31:41
Hi Eds

All this talk of swap deals from various posters on here, I was wondering if there has ever been a swap deal involving LFC or even any other prominent team in the premiership? Personally I can't see them ever occurring because of them being just too messy to implement due to various contractual reasons.

BaldyRed {Ed002's Note - It happens but is by no means common. Often there is a cash adjustment. Gallas - Cole for example.}

11 Dec 2012 20:00:56
Ibra and Eto

Only LFC swap I can remember was Owen to Real Madrid for £8m + Antonio Nunez to Liverpool. Quite embarrassing really. RC

Possibly a really dumb question, but why is this so rare? Caveat that with I'm an American and it happens quite often here in the NBA, MLB, etc. Simply a cultural thing?

Josemi for Jan Kromkamp was another I think.

M owen and nunez

11 Dec 2012 18:17:23
Hi eds what the chances of David villa not getting much of a look in at barca would fit right in with the style of play at the moment.great site {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

11 Dec 2012 18:27:56
Liverpool have held talks with Villarreal about Mateo Musacchio who is available for around €7 million. He is seen as Jamie Carrghers long term replacement. Tough tackling defender, he has great movement and can pick out a pass.

Robbie Lewis

Skrtel has was brought in as carras replacement then we have coates and kelly as the next generation of cbs

^ Coates is probably gonna go, and Kelly isnt a cb is he?

There have been unconfirmed rumours that Seb has not fully settled but there is no desire to sell him if possible. Kelly is seen as a long term solution to one the cb positions in the future.

Do not forget Sama and Wisdom

Hi Ed let me start of by saying great job to all the Eds for the work you all put in this website and keeping us LFC fans updated thanks again mate. I just have one question is there any truth behind us trying to sign Artem Milevskiy ? {Ed001's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

11 Dec 2012 16:14:42
Is there no chance of Liverpool putting in a bid for Huntelaar? After all Suarez used to play with him at Ajax, could'nt he advise Brendan Rodgers about him, wether or not they got on on & off the pitch

11 Dec 2012 16:05:01
We are not interested in Ba. 100%.

Sturridge is effectively a done deal, just a few bits to tie up. All parties have agreed to the deal.

I have no information regarding Huntelaar or but have been told that Rodgers is going all out to bring Theo Walcott in, who I dont rate BTW.

We are not looking to sell anyone in the winter window and have around £40 million to spend

DB9

Where did we get 40m?

We have not got £40m to spend....i have seen the accounts. We may have £40m if we sell players and lower the wage bill further....but the max the owners are putting in I guess will be approx £15m so as to keep the books balanced.

And where did you see the accounts. Are you Lfc accountant. I smell bs
Redrooster

11 Dec 2012 17:54:13
40million ha ha you let yourself down there boy

You have seen the accounts??

Don't want Walcott or Sturridge

35m of the 40m will be spent on Carroll

Walcott and Sturidge are not great buys

"I have seen the accounts"... brilliant, what a plonker!

"I've seen the accounts" brrrrrrt. Allright then

11 Dec 2012 14:11:07
Hi Eds, Do any of you know if we have any interest in Hiroshi Kiyotake of Nuremberg? I have watched Nuremberg's last two games and this lad really stands out. Cheers

Scarface {Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

11 Dec 2012 15:07:35
Hi Eds,

Could there be a chance of Cardozo from Benfica?

I've always rated him and he knows where the goal is.

Thank you,

Emlyn {Ed001's Note - unlikely to happen sorry.}

I know where the goal is - it's at the end of the pitch! In fact on some grounds there's one at each end! At Old Trafford they even have goals that are BIG for the home club and SMALL for the opposition! In front of the BIG goal they have divots that rise up when a united player (usually Young or Welbeck) steps on it!

hey eds.... is January a possible time for a move for will hughes? or do you think we will keep tabs on him until the summer unless someone else comesi n for him? he certainly would play for us and is our type of target?
thoughts?
Cant wait till january.. this site goes nuts!!
MrJimmy {Ed001's Note - I don't think January is a likely time to move for him, Derby are hoping for a promotion push, you don't sell one of your best players then. The only way that would be likely to happen is if we bought him and loaned him back until the summer. We are also looking at another youngster they have, Mason Bennett, I wouldn't be surprised if we made a move for both in the summer, but I don't see it happening in January.}

Have it on good authority from a source close to the man himself saying a summer move would be more likely unless a substantial bid is made in Jan.

11 Dec 2012 13:49:22
Liverpool to make a £10m offer for Kevin Prince Boateng, and a loan move for Sturridge with an option to buy. Robinson heading to the Championship on loan, and McLaughlin on loan to Fleetwood to join his brother.

Lies lies lies re Sturridge and Boateng.

Why on earth would Chelsea loan Sturridge out, when he only has 6 months remaining on his contract? I smell BS.

Sturgeon has more than 6 months on his contract. Kevin-Prince Boateng? No chance.

How can so many people get this wrong? Sturridge does NOT have 6 months left on his contract.

I can only assume there is some confusion with Walcott who's contract does have 6 months left.

I don't believe a word of this, but I wish the Boatang bit was true. I think he's a very solid player and would do well in the prem.

~Fresh

Lies damn lies and Kevin Prince Boetang.

Sturridge don't want loan move

Sturgeon or carp

Hi Ed's

Rumour going around that Arsenal have already made moves to sign Reina. What do you think the chances are of Walcott plus cash with Reina going the other way or just straight cash? {Ed001's Note - I would think it highly unlikely, swap deals are so difficult to negotiate.}

If Reina eventually goes I can't wait to hear the cries of 'we shouldn't have let Reina go!' from every single divvy saying get shut now, as soon as it goes pear shaped for whoever replaces him. Absolutely ludicrous to be rationalising swapping him in any deal involving Walcott. The mind boggles.

If we sell (or swap, or whatever you call it) Reina, who is going to be our replacement? Jones? I'm not so confident with him between the post. Unless you tell me it's some upcoming good goalkeeper, otherwise, I would think it's our striker fiasco from summer again.

Not saying that he should go, just asked the Ed's a question on what the chances are of a deal like that happening. We are interested in Walcott after all aren't we?

Reina has been below par for the last three or so seasons. If Arsenal are interested and the are willing to pay a healthy sum for him then I am sure we can find a suitable replacement but then that replacement should be lined before we decide to sell Reina in order to avoid another Carroll situation.

There are many suitable keepers out there. This site is loaded with names who we can sign should Reina go to Arsenal.

Jones held his own while Reina was out and he is our second choice GK. With Reina struggling with form for quite some time now, how much will me actually miss him if we find a suitable replacement?

Reina was below par for 3 or 4 seasons and we still kept him as our 1st choice keeper? I can't believe you came up with that insanity!

The Plank

Reina is a Liverpool legend and is going nowhere

'This site is loaded with names who we can sign to replace Reina if he signs for Arsenal' - conversation over.

Take a look at Arsenal and United (Van Der Sar aside) over the last 10-15 years for how difficult it is to find the right goalkeeper.

They are as rare as rocking horse s**t and not having a keeper of Reina's calibre between the sticks will be as much of a disaster for the club as not having a top striker.

11 Dec 2012 12:34:45
Alen Halilovic, Sime Vrsaljko and Mateo Kovacic

Eds have we ever had intrest in these players especially the latter looks quite a player wud we have any chance if we did go for them?
Basy {Ed001's Note - these are all well known players that have been looked at, I am told that all 3 have attracted Premier League interest and all 3 have informal queries regarding them from English clubs. I have no idea which clubs though, I really wouldn't want to make a guess as to whether we have enquired though.}

11 Dec 2012 22:09:34
barca wants kovacic, city and lazio is after vrsaljko... halilovic is 16 and wont be moving anytime soon.

11 Dec 2012 12:04:34
Eds, what's your opinion on what will happen this January for LFC? {Ed001's Note - I don't expect a lot to happen personally, it will be a case of finding a forward for a decent price and that will be pretty much it, I believe. January is not a good time to buy, so it will be a case of finding players whose contracts are ending in the summer.}

11 Dec 2012 13:24:36
There have been a few rumours linking us with Diame of West Ham. He looked a good player on Sunday. Are we interested.

Cheers

Walls

No, he's gonna be injured for a fair few months with that hammy damage.

He's out like 3 months due to the injury he picked up in that match, I think. I thought he looked great too, but now wouldn't be a good time to move for him.

~Fresh

He is out for a while but it might be possible to include him in the Andy Carroll deal

It said he will be back in 3 weeks

Yet no-one was interested in us signing him in the Summer when he was on free from Wigan. Strange.

11 Dec 2012 13:23:03
Hey all , I've not been on here for a while . Does anyone reckon the reported interest in Demba Ba for only £7Million is a no brainer ?

I'm thinking £7Million pounds for a Striker who has a excellentg goal scoring record in the Premier League should be right up our alley .

What do you reckon , will we try to do a deal or look for someone else ?

Jargon .

Looks no better than Ngoo, please no

Watched demba last night pretty crap no thanks

Recall Carroll and use him as leverage for Ba and it could well happen

A dodgey knee which isn't getting any better is the biggest draw back to getting Ba.

It could and knowing our luck would blow out in the first ten minutes of his début.

I say one of Llorente, Huntelaar or Soldado and either Sturridge or Theo.

2 attackers, one who can play wide and one who's an out and out goal threat. Pressure will be lifted of the midfield and thus the defence and points will trickle in. We'll be a lot better for the second half of the season.

I thought the £7m buyout fee for Demba Ba only applied to Champions League clubs?

Forgive me, but the last time I checked, Liverpool were not a Champions League club.

11 Dec 2012 18:16:30
Read the article on the independents website about ba and his demands, the cost to the club over the course of a 4 year contract would be 30 million pounds - no brainer right!

11 Dec 2012 11:16:13
Hi eds, you've said Arsenal have bid for Huntelaar & there is a reasonable chance a deal could be agreed. How likely is it that Liverpool will also bid for him? {Ed001's Note - as things stand, it is not looking likely, though a lot will depend on what happens with other targets. It certainly seems he is not a first choice target.}

This could be good for us though, Walcot wants to play as a striker, if they get Huntelaar would this not mean Walcot will defiantly look to move, possible to us ? {Ed001's Note - Walcott was looking at a move anyway.}

11 Dec 2012 11:03:11
Eds any interest in Christian Atsu or Isco (Malaga)? {Ed001's Note - don't know sorry so I will ask about him and yes for Isco.}

Cool.
Let's specify the unsaid part of the question: any interest from the great club Liverpool (in Isco)?

Drigan {Ed001's Note - oh yes, I meant from us. We are just one of many clubs keeping an eye on Malaga in the hope of picking up Isco on the cheap.}

Isco seems like a dream player for Rodgers and would fit into the team perfectly but unfortunately I think we would need champions league to stand a chance :-( outstanding young player though

Ed001 let's up the cub goes for Isco even if he isn't on the cheap...

11 Dec 2012 10:52:54
Any interest in dame n'doye? Ino a few pl clubs were interested not long ago. Decent strike rate and very similar to ba but without the injury prone ness, could be a nice little signing.

11 Dec 2012 10:52:38
hey eds, with arsenal seemingly going for huntelaar and henry coming bk on loan for a while, is that maybe an indication that walcott might be going?
cheers

max {Ed001's Note - I would think his refusal to sign a new contract is more of an indication.}

11 Dec 2012 10:52:09
Hi Ed's,
What is your thoughts on Belhanda, some reliable LFC fans in twitter are saying that he is on his way to premier league and possibly LFC. {Ed001's Note - from what I have been told, it is more likely he will move in the summer.}

11 Dec 2012 10:39:08
Good Morning Eds,

Just a quick question, with Arsenal looking likely to sign Huntelaar do you think that would increase arsenals receptiveness to a transfer for walcott should we make an offer? Huntelaar and Giroud both play as a central striker which would make walcott 3rd choice.

Thanks eds

Nevada {Ed001's Note - Walcott's leaving comes down to his contract, Huntelaar is not relevant to that at all.}

Would it be fair to say he is likely to leave in Jan? {Ed001's Note - that is up to him, he might prefer to hang on until the summer. Impossible to say with any kind of certainty without knowing the lad personally.}

Walcott doesn't play as the central striker for Arsenal so whoever they bring in to play in the middle isn't relevant to him. He wants to play in the middle but Wenger won't play him there.

~Fresh

11 Dec 2012 03:14:22
Eds,

-Are we scouting Bundesliga for attacking winger? Any interest in either Andre Schurle or Antoinne Grizman?

-Heard intereset in Sturridge is real and Rodgers also wants Sturridge but only if Walcott not interested in joining lfc. True?

Hakeem Rhaman. {Ed001's Note - I very much doubt we are in the running for Schurrle, Griezmann is a player Comolli looked at extensively, not heard of any interest since then, but we might not have felt the need to scout him again with us already having scouted him extensively. I have no idea on whether one of Walcott or Sturridge will impact on the chances of the other. I do know that Rodgers would like to sign them, but whether that is an either or thing, or whether it is that he wants both I have no idea.}

An attacking winger? Ive never known a defensive winger.

11 Dec 2012 09:59:02
The daily's in Holland are reporting that, We are looking at Jetro Willems for summer and have also scouted Jordy claise and Filip Djuricic.
Any thoughts on these Ed's. {Ed001's Note - Clasie is a player Rodgers wanted for Swansea, so it would be no surprise if he continued to have him watched. Willems is attracting a lot of interest from the English Prem, Arsenal and Man Utd have both had him scouted recently as well. No idea on Djuricic right now though.}

Ahhh yes, Clasie is just what we need. Another midfielder!

It doesn't matter what position the lad is playing in, as long as he can contribute to winning games, he is a good signing.

Yeah, like Sahin has done recently.....

11 Dec 2012 09:29:47
Liverpool interested in bringing Asmir Begovic, 25, from Stoke in the January transfer window. Eds do you rate him? {Ed001's Note - he is ok and still young enough, in keeper terms, to make major improvements to his game.}

I like Begovic- I was at Suarez's debut )in the Annie Road End behind the goal) match when he scored against Stoke. In the first half Begovic was immense and made lots of good saves. He is also a big lad which helps if you are a goalkeeper. {Ed001's Note - it is his distribution that worries me, it is difficult to judge while he plays at Stoke!}

I like him, actually. I think he's a solid keeper. I didn't realize he was only 25 though.

~Fresh

Begovic is probably the best shot-stopper in the league on his day, and his handling and airwork isn't that bad either.

But he is very, very inconsistent, hence why he has struggled to claim the No.1 Shirt for Stoke outright.

Acquiring him and a decent keeper coach might be nice - although there were signs on Sunday that Reina might be making a return to form. He looked very comfortable in all areas

will be red soon
remember my name

liver4ever

Thats not your name

11 Dec 2012 06:01:29
hi eds and fellow reds.
first off i really wouldn't like it if daniel sturridge would be the one to come in and be our goal scorer. honestly hes just a bit part player and weve got enough of them i think a proven goalscorer or nothing...and now my sort of romour its almost a constant over here in the dutch media that either bony from vitesse arnham or k j huntelaar are the ones being put in line for our current strikers role. i think personally that walcott will be the one to come and who would blame him or leaving the shambles that is arsenal.
all the best
van shep

, arsenal are doing better than liverpool

It will be even harder for Walcott at Arsenal when Wenger spends his Christmas bonus. I understand the owners were quite generous.

Im liverpool 4 life but arsenal are far from a shambles, there will be more words eaten yet again.

11 Dec 2012 03:35:31
Hey Ed's hopes all fine didn't watch the game this weekend but I heard that Enrique was injured? How bad is it? {Ed001's Note - there is a good chance he will be back for the game on the 15th. Luckily he was taken off quickly and so it is not thought he damaged his hamstring badly.}

11 Dec 2012 01:44:54
does anybody know of any interest for facundo ferreyra he only has 5 months left on his contract?

I think if there is, work permit will be a major issue.

10 Dec 2012 23:52:00
Hi Eds

Have we ever taken a look at Mohammad Salah of FC Basel? A striker who looks like he would fit in perfectly into BR's system. Can play as a CF and comfortable on both wings. Phenomenal talent, and has an excellent scoring record. Did very well at the Olympics. Also, very young at nly 20 years of age.

Also, as a general question on the side, would an Egyptian player have any trouble getting a work permit. I remember Zaki playing for Wigan in the league a couple of years ago.

Cheers
Ray {Ed001's Note - no idea on Salah sorry. As for work permits, depends on the ranking of the team at the time and if the player had the required number of caps.}

Just had a look at his stats and he looks like a goal scorer. might come cheap too! you ever watched him?

10 Dec 2012 23:59:27
I know we've heavily scouted the Dutch league, leading me to ask whether theres any truth to the links with Armenteros of Heracles?
