The papers are reporting that we now want to bid £40m for Oxlade Chamberlain. Hope it's just paper talk guff as we've trolled ourselves enough this transfer window already without wasting money like that.

Of course it is.

This would be the story of FSG and sum us right up if we end up buying Ox for 40 mill as our Main summer signing.

Agree15 Disagree10

10 Jun 2017 23:14:50
Am I the only one hoping this is true? He's a decent player. I'm not sure he's worth 40m, but he'll very rarely let you down.

Agree7 Disagree24

10 Jun 2017 23:19:44
I don't believe even Liverpool are stupid enough to spend that much on Ox.

Agree23 Disagree0

10 Jun 2017 23:42:56
I don't get why everyone is getting wound up. The window closes in two and half months, there is plenty of time to get signings in. People are talking here as the window is closing tomorrow and no one has signed.

As a Liverpool supporter I would support them in the third division and do it with pride. Would sing "You'll Never Walk Alone" as proud and loud as I did the night of Istanbul.

Transfers don't happen at the pace the papers make it seem. The Eds can confirm a transfer can take months of negotiation and scouting prior to a bid being made. Stop following the papers and wait for something with concrete reputation to report it.

I would love to see the Ox in a Liverpool shirt. Quality player mismanaged by Wenger. He would flourish under Klopp. I hope we get him.

16 mil great buy. 40 not a chance.

Agree21 Disagree2

11 Jun 2017 01:07:38
That's a rediculous fee for someone with 1 year left and doesn't play every game.

Would be a decent player for us I think though I don't really see where he fits in.

Agree5 Disagree1

11 Jun 2017 02:07:56
20 million or under, fine.
If the price is higher, move on.

Agree9 Disagree2

11 Jun 2017 03:19:55
I hope we get him too and I think we will. Along with vvd his name has been linked all year, those two above all others have been mentioned. Forty mil sounds a lot but so does nearly every high end deal these days. Last week Ed02, myself and others were saying we'd rather take a cheaper player that fit rather than a flashy signing for the sake of spending. The truth is ox would fit our team. Perfectly. He's English, he's young, and he's in the wrong team. He may not be cheap but I doubt it'd be as much as 40. I'd take ox over salah, for same price. He's tried and tested. Hope we get both and vvd.

Agree3 Disagree6

11 Jun 2017 07:07:34
Jonny-Ox is tried and tested, and is a failure! and he fits our team because he's English and young? how does that work? For one we didn't have one young English regular last season and two, what's your age and nationality got to do with fitting into our team?

Agree5 Disagree7

11 Jun 2017 07:12:40
As jackored said a year left on his contract so I can't see 40mil being the price.

Probably get him for half that if the interest is real.

Agree2 Disagree1

11 Jun 2017 07:50:02
If they pay that its a new recruitment dept that's needed.

Agree4 Disagree0

11 Jun 2017 07:50:25
Yeah he'd fit right in with sturiddge and Henderson on the treatment table where he would spend most of the season. Be a great buy. Exactly what we need another player made of paper to keep sturiddge company.

Agree5 Disagree2

11 Jun 2017 07:51:00
We have enough issues with keeping our own squad fit and free from injury without paying £40m for a player who is prone to picking up injuries.

Agree3 Disagree0

11 Jun 2017 08:24:50
But aren't we supposed to pay whatever the asking price is now? I thought all this haggling is a sign of how bad our recruitment team is. Surely refusing to pay over the odds is terrible business.

Agree5 Disagree3

11 Jun 2017 08:25:20
Rather give Ojo a chance.

Agree5 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I rather suspect Ojo will not be there next season.}

11 Jun 2017 08:32:01
Forget Ojo, he isn't good enough.

Agree3 Disagree8

11 Jun 2017 08:53:47
Cobra if Ojo isn't good enough then Oxlade definitely isn't.

Agree5 Disagree2

11 Jun 2017 08:53:03
Shame Ojo isn't being given a chance ed seens as he has genuine pace and is a LW, an area we need players in. Loan out likely then?

Agree5 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would think so.}

11 Jun 2017 09:06:50
I don't think people are solely upset over just this window that hasn't even opened yet. As they say there is no smoke without fire and since FSG came in it has been the same old story. After all we are the club who sold Luis and replaced him with Lambert, Balotelli and Markovic. And that was after securing CL football. I'd support LFC in any division either but it doesn't mean I am going to be happy and sit quietly whilst being taken for a mug.

Agree8 Disagree2

11 Jun 2017 09:12:24
Frank- Ox isn't good enough, he is however better than Ojo.

Agree2 Disagree5

11 Jun 2017 09:17:26
No way worth £40m with only a year left on his contract. £20m would be worth it I think . Could be a useful addition. But maybe it's just a way to get himself a decent renewel of his arsenal contract . Can't see it happening . maybe other areas of team need improving first. Cb, lb, dm, and another attacking player .

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Jun 2017 09:18:19
If we do loan Ojo out, I hope it's done wisely and with a managee who will nurture him and play him, there's a lot of talent there.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Newcastle are keen.}

11 Jun 2017 09:33:22
Not a bad option under Benitez.

Agree4 Disagree0

11 Jun 2017 09:53:57
I'd rather he played regularly for Newcastle at this stage then sat on the bench watching our newly signed left winger play in his spot.

Agree4 Disagree0

11 Jun 2017 09:43:04
What's klopps number? I need a word.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Jun 2017 15:34:14
No cobra, being young and english are bonuses. He would fit our high pressing game. He's quick both with feet and mind. An attacking player who knows how to get stuck in. Easy to forget he's only 23. Plenty of ucl experience. If u can't see how he fits then I can't help you.

Agree0 Disagree2

11 Jun 2017 15:36:38
Ox is a failure! That's funny he scored for england yesterday!

Agree4 Disagree1

11 Jun 2017 16:14:19
I get that it's at a different level, but Ojo completely changed the game when he came on for England u20s against Italy in the semi finals. They just couldn't cope with him.

Agree3 Disagree0

10 Jun 2017 13:17:32
Hi Ed, is the club trying to sell Gomez or they see that a loan is a better option?

Believable1 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - It is evident by Klopp looking for a centre back that he has no career at Liverpool - regaless of what Klopp has been telling him.}

10 Jun 2017 17:53:28
Brighton are interested in a loan deal.

Agree3 Disagree0

10 Jun 2017 17:53:42
Think you're wrong there ed, he's young and is probably being given time to see if he can step up to the first team.

Agree13 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - Ok, so Klopp is a liar then.}

10 Jun 2017 17:58:03
Ed, I have a feeling that LFC are about to make a dogs of probably the most important transfer window we have had in recent years considering the players being linked with our direct rivals, am I just losing my head.

Thanks for your great and endless patience,

Agree3 Disagree10

{Ed002's Note - I hear the same every year from Liverpool fans.}

10 Jun 2017 18:42:55
Ed002, you don't think it's possible Klavan will be sold and Gomez kept as 1 of 4 CBs?

Agree3 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has made no efforts to sell Klavan - who was Klopp's pick only last year.}

10 Jun 2017 22:19:47
Seems harsh and rushed decision for Klopp to judge Gomez as not good enough. Been out so long he hasn't really seen him play fully fit yet and he is only a youngster. Oh well what will be will be.

Agree3 Disagree1

10 Jun 2017 22:35:52
Obviously seen enough, choose to play Lucas out of position over him so he obviously doesn't think he's upto the task.

Agree2 Disagree5

10 Jun 2017 23:09:09
Thanks Ed2.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jun 2017 07:01:52
Given the length of time he's been out, loan deal seems the best all round if we buy another cb. Whatever promises were or were not made re. Joe, s playing time would surely be conditional on recovery?
Klavan, imo, was only ever bought as a backup.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Jun 2017 01:50:13
Ed2 Can you explain your "ok, he's a liar then" comment?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - It has been done to death. You can't have it all ways.}

11 Jun 2017 08:35:27
Ed2,you say he's surplus even though klopp has said otherwise then totally contradict that in your reply to HX Red- which you imply Klopp has told him he no future.
What has Klopp told him?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Where did I say he is surplus? Where did I say Klopp has told him he has no future? You don't seem to understand the situation which has been explained over and over.}

11 Jun 2017 09:19:56
You said he .............

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - You are one DF moron. This has been covered over and over in the past.}

10 Jun 2017 10:38:28
Hi eds iv'e read reports that we are interested in emre mor, I would usually ask if the rumour has legs but I think im better asking if dortmund know?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - they want to loan him out and have offered him around on that basis.}

11 Jun 2017 07:03:00
Why would we develop someone else's player? Seems a better fit for Huddersfield or Brighton?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jun 2017 01:53:04
Hi eds have we been offered Emre mor or is it twitter exploding with BS.

THANKS.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I don't know but Dortmund don't see him as ready for the first team and are looking to loan him out.}

10 Jun 2017 08:13:42
Thst would be an odd option IMO. If we loan away Ojo or Ryan Kent, just to loan in another player to evolve. I know Emre Mor from the danish league, and I don't see him as a much bigger talent than Kent or Ojo, but I know if you make the move from the danish league to the bundesliga, there will be some kind of hype.

Agree7 Disagree0

10 Jun 2017 09:36:59
Can't see us loaning and developing a Dortmund player to then send him back.

Loan with a purchase option maybe.

Agree4 Disagree0

10 Jun 2017 11:24:32
Ojo needs to get more game time this year. And with us. He is quality and has all the potential any of these young players have from around the world. It's always a case of the grass/ talent being greener. I want a few stars to come in as much as the rest but fully expect klopp to use the young talent we have more also. Ojo Woodburn ejaria Wilson gomez solanke.

Agree5 Disagree4

10 Jun 2017 20:18:59
Ojo isn't that great Kopdog.

11 Jun 2017 07:04:49
Cobra, he was rated as being one of the top promising talents in the world according to ed 002.
Patience needed I think.
