Just found this online can anyone confirm?

Tuesday, July 10, 2012 - Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is close to his first signing after reports reveal that young Italian striker, Fabio Borini has agreed personal terms with the Merseyside club.

Rodgers is known to be a huge admirer of the versatile striker having worked with him at Chelsea and Swansea and now he hopes to snap the AS Roma striker as he seeks to spruce up his attacking options.

On Monday the Kop tactician hinted that he was close to making an 'exciting' signing.

"We hope to complete a deal this week which will be a real exciting one for the club.

"He will be terrific, I'm sure. And the supporters will absolutely love him." Rodgers said.

"Going forward hopefully we can bring maybe  two or three more and then with the group of players that I already have  it'll bode really well for us and provide  us hopefully with that strength in the group to challenge in every competition." He added.

The 21-year old enjoyed a fantastic campaign with Serie A side Roma, where he scored 10 goals in 26 appearances to earn himself a surprise call up to the Italian team for the Euro 2012.

The Merseyside club are yet to make any signing into their ranks after being snubbed by Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson who opted to sign for White Hart Lane occupants, Tottenham Hotspur instead.

 Liverpool are willing to meet the youngster's £10m valuation which is considered a huge bargain considering his age and potential resale value in future. And it should a done deal pending a medical any time from now.

Before everyone slags off the goal per game stat...
Borini scored 1 goal every 122minutes...
Was injured for some of the season but was topscorer...

Honestly I am pretty sceptical about this singing.( if it happens ) But then I think of the price tag and the resale value

I hope he fails his medical i have a huge feeling he is going to be terrible i would much rather keeping carrol in the swuad and not send him out on loan then even consider buying boroni he will be another Aqulani and i will sign my post because i am so confident of how bad he will be

Cheers Zincho

Bla bla bla for god's sake he didint even sing for us and you so called fans smothering him already.Go and support plastic clubs if you're not happy what our club is doing

I don't know....he'll certainly be better than Carroll.

SUMON VAI

Zincho, youve obviously not seen him play. he knows what its like to play in english football, returned to italy and experienced top flight football there, impressed sufficiently to break into the national squad...and above all this he knows the type of football that brendan likes his teams to play, and brendan can see how he would improve us. in comparison, aquaman was a desparation buy, trying to shore up the creative aspect of our midffild. he had an inflated reputation and pricetag because he was the local "golden boy" of roma.

Borini is a fox in the box type player? Thought that's what we all wanted?
Beggars belief the negative neddys on here!
Rodgers decides who we need and who don't:

hi eds, do you think Alonso will return to Anfield this season? he said that he wants to end his career with us and only has 1 year left on his contract at Madrid, what are the chances of us getting him?

Thanks {Ed042's Note - unlikely mate, unfortunately...}

Possibly when he is a free agent or perhaps in january, but i know he wants to end his career here so he will come if not this summer or in january then deffo next summer!!

All the fans that want to see Alonso back this summer will be dissapointed including myself..... In the interview to ESPN Xabi stated that he would like to come back to Liverpool but the crucial part that most people are ignoring is the part where he stated "at the moment I am doing very well and I will not be moving"

Hopefully this window he is just what we need in midfield great pass of the ball

He's too old to come back and he's secured a regular place in the national side since he's been at Madrid.
He wasn't a regular in the National side when he was at Liverpool.

Heard of any interest in the young lad bradshaw from shrewsbury eds?

I live near Shrewsbury and have seen Bradshaw play and to be honest he is nothing special if we are to go for anyone from Shrewsbury then we should buy Taylor the young LM but to be honest he would just be a reserve player for the next few years.

chances of conor sammon? {Ed042's Note - heard nothing sorry.}

Conor sammon?? this must be on the wrong transfer rumours site - idiot!

Give your head a wobble. Connor Salmon can't even break into the first XI at Wigan {Ed049's Note - maybe it's Connor Salmon himself who posted this rumor.}

Conor Sammon....you have got to be joking! I think you have clicked on the wrong rumours page...this is Liverpool !

Whatttt! Lol i an from kilmarnock where he played he struggled up here u muppet. Headless chicken struggled up here for 3 years n scored like 21 tap ins. Mare to get to the bradford rumours page u type in "bradford runours page"!

I yeah and after Connor Sammon were signing Tinned Tuna!

Hehe, this did make me laugh. Connor Sammon is a terrible player. As a Killie fan, I watched him stink up the joint for all but 6 months of his time there, and was amazed that a EPL team took a chance on him, I think it's 2 levels above where he should be playing.

Rugby Parker

Please no he can't even get in wigans first team

Yes please, he looks like a pretty big guy. Could do well carrying the kit bags.

He's actually quite quick? well faster than carroll

I know connor quite well and he is not coming to LFC. infact i think he may even be sold to a lower league team

massive news coming from a staff member at melwood Agger-Alonso plus cash swap!!

Jon Ynwa

Massive news... B.S

Agger is the perfect player for Rodgers' system to play centre back. Jon on mate.

If there's one player i wouldn't want to make this happen it's Agger, even though it's Xabi.

64_bit_hero

I heard this today aswell apparently it was sorted 2 weeks ago with coates replacin agger

JP

Could have a slight chance this .i herd agger wanted to stay at liverppol for years to come,but then he seems to off gone off boil now and it is rumored madrid want him

Jan vertonghen is the best option to replace agger but we have lost vs. spurs

As much as I would like Alonso to come back, I wouldn't give up Agger for him. I think that if we lose Agger it would affect LFC very badly, perhaps even as bad as when we lost Alonso a few years back. If Real's interest in Agger is solid, then we should do all we can to keep him here. Do you know of any interest in Agger from Real, or any other club for that matter? Cheers.

With Agger's injury woes, and with up and coming Coates, remember Coates is penciled in the starting 11 for the world # 1 Uruguay. I'd do this in a heartbeat, yes please!

As much as I disagree with the original poster, I do see it as being viable, last season people started moaning about Agger's fitness issue and his 'build', he was immense last season, but go over the injury record, hes missed long periods at different times.
Id definately keep him if I was manager, its not coincidence that the season we finished second Skrtl and Agger partnered at the back, and this season conceding goals wasnt as much a problem as scoring them.
Dont tell the poster hes going with BS unless you yourself are Brendan Rodgers or someone In The Know, because we dont have a clue what may happen. If this guy had just so happened to be Macca you would be falling over yourselves to thank him for the info..., would you not?

Anfield Andy

That is not great deal but I would take higuain for Agger and buy a new centre back.

If there was any part of our team that was perfect last season it was centre defense, rodgers would be a fool to sell agger.

Skrtel is more likely to move, as he's not a ball-playing back, like Agger is. If Coates joins the starting XI, it will likely be alongside Agger, not replacing him. Plus, what would Alonso returning mean for Lucas? Our two best /most important players last season were Agger and Lucas. This move would effectively take both out of the mix.

How many times do you see 'swap this and swap that' on this site and we all know they rarely happen and especially one involving one of our top players. Why make things up :s ?
RedJatt

Id do it.. madrid wouldnt have to ask me twice.. yes aggers good... coats imo could end up even better.. getting alonso back would be fantastic.. people saying no lol have you forgot who alonso is? compared to who we've got.. have a think about it

To the poster who starts his sentance with Skrtel.It would not mean anything to Lucas.We would have a 3 man midfield with Lucas in the middle Alonso and Gerrard alongside him look about it.Sounds Good,very good!3 up top Suarez on one side of Borini if he's our Fantastic Signing,with someone else the other,maybe Downing?As for Agger,well surely we could get a quality defender that is not injured most of the time.Skrtel is always fit,and maybe Coates could be the ball playing defender,we already have.

That would be suicidal in that it would instantly negate our two best players from last year: Agger and Lucas. Plus Agger is the perfect back for Rodgers system and Lucas is 6-7 years younger than Alonso and coming into his prime. That supposed deal would make no sense on so many levels.

Hi Ed i want to know all these rumours that are coming out that agger might go to real. Is it true or just bs. And wht u reckon about these players will they sign for us or nt. Ramirez sturidge dempsey and a.johnson.
Thanx. Keep up the good work. Love this site.

{Ed016's Note - Ramirez rumour died down. Dempsey rumour was made up, City commands to high of a transfer fee currently for AJ. Although Roma have come out and said "There is a real interest shown by Liverpool for Borini" Now whether this is true or whether they are just trying to create more interest in the player we will see.}

Thanks eds, its really helpful when we get your perspectrive on things. Personally as Macca said we were looking at/ after Baroni i tend to believe it as he /she seems to be in the know, like you guys

gareth

If we are skint why not keep our current squad and buy in january instead of wasting it on average players

Xabi Alonso rumours do seem to be hotting up . Been told that FSG feel there is a a split between the fans with the departure of Kenny Dalglish and to solve this they think the capture of Xabi Alonso will help reunite the fans and rebuild confidence in them . Xabi Alonso is still a big fan of the club and there is the feeling he would move back if the conditions where right . Brendan Rodgers is will to give Xabi Alonso vice captains arm band from Carragher and offer Carragher a place on the coaching (staff hence the vacant First Team Coach ).
there is plans that the First Team Coach role will be done away with completely over the coming seasons and the positions will be filled with specialists in there areas . goalkeeper, defence , midfield, striker, with Brendan Rodgers watching over. Next season Xabi alonso will take over as captain with Steven Gerrard moving in to a player coaching role ( midfield ) and still be vice captain due to age and not been able to play full time. Brendan Rodgers is now in talks with José Mourinho over a price some where around the 20m . Xabi alonso will also be given the number 14 shirt from jordan anderson . This deal should be done by mid next week {Ed016's Note - No real source to go along with this. As nice as it would be. I can't see it happening unless the price is low and so are Alonso's wages.}

What a load of b****cks! What did you have for your tea? Mushrooms?

Xabi is nearly 31 why would you want him back?

I thought jordan anderson made a good number 14

Lol how long did it take u to come up with that load of bs? Gerrard to vice captain for alonso haha

If you're expecting us to believe you, at least spell henderson's name right (not anderson)!

I think you've still go euro 2012 nostalgia !

Alonso IS coming back! But certainly not for £20m at his age! lol and not as captain or having Hendos number!

Gerrard will cease being captain due to age and will hand the armband over to someone only about a year younger?

Alonso is class, can pass a ball better than anyone who currently plays in the prem, why would we not want him in our team? If you say you don't want Alonso back you're a dingbat! Come back old kid and have the No.14 shirt from Anderson he sucks anyway!

Since when was there a vice captain's armband?

Ash

Didn't think I'd get a laugh at this time of night so thanks. I'd love alonso back but your terms are a bit far fetched!

Funny that you actually think FSG makes their decisions based on how the fans feel...they flew Kenny over to the States just to sack him...it's business to them...

That was the biggest load of bull I've ever read. Rafa, you should be ashamed of yourself making up such lies. I know you want your old job back but honestly there's no need to have a mental breakdown and come here in disguise and rant about such bizarre things. You're better than that Rafa, FACT! ... now go and have a lie down my little Spanish Flump.

Do you have a time machine by any chance?

oldmonk

Get your bag packed, you've got school shortly

This is one of the funniest posts I've read on this site, I love the way you already know the planned infrastructure for years to come, even though the club doesn't! Also there's no such thing as a vice-captain's armband and Liverpool don't own any Andersons. Try a bit harder next time so the BS is more plausible.

Jakub Błaszczykowski's agent has apparently said liverpool are interested in signing him from Dortmund more nonsense from a certain social networking site or has this any truth in it ed?

RED KENNY {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

10 Jul 2012 17:25:36
Have Liverpool placed a bid on Jakub Blaszczykowski? Being reported...LFC412 {Ed002's Note - No but there may well have been an enquiry.}

We definately should get this guy - he's absolutely biult for premiership football - as a midfielder he has it all, great tackling, skillful, passing short and long range, great awareness - dare I say it, a bit of a Stevey G?

Nothing like Stevie at all to be honest. Kuba is a traditional winger with a good eye for a final ball and great pace.

P.s. he is as good as ivanovic was. hes not an out and out winger

"a bit of a Stevey G"?

No he is not. Have you ever watched Borussia Dortmund? He's a winger, a very quick one at that.. Not like Walcott though, this Polish kid has a brain..

Stone YNWA.

Na hes not in the right age or wage bracket for us, we have enough people for his position and were not trying to sell shirts in poland so i dont see it happening

Really how many right sided wingers do we have now kuyt has left

To the poster who began with "Na". Kuba is only 26 and will not demand ridiculous wages. Also buying players is not about selling shirts. The shirt manufactures get the profit from them anyhow so selling shirts is irrelevant. One more point Liverpool are thinnest in the position he plays (versatile winger).

James Mc

Not for sale and doesn't fit BR's system, which does not employ out-and-out wingers. We can expect Downing to be a casualty of this.

Hi eds is their any imtrest in bojan from us? {Ed002's Note - Bojan joined Roma last summer in an unusual deal worth €12m. If Roma paid another €28m in June, they will own him outright, but if they leave it until June 2013 then Barcelona will buy him back for €13m. However, I understand that Barcelona are not interested in taking Bojan back so are open to negotiating the sale of his remaining rights to Roma for less than the contracted amount. However, Roma are not impressed with Bojan following a series of poor performances meaning that neither club want him. Bojan would cost in excess of €40M if his full value was paid. He will probably complete the move to Roma for some sort of negotiated deal, perhaps including a couple of younger players. The only viable alternative would be for a club, perhaps Liverpool, to negotiate with Baercelona to take the player which would probably mean paying both parties. It seems most unlikely to me that Liverpool would want to be taking on a player who has been under-performing for even half of the contractual valuation.}

I'd take bojan for 20m euros than borini for 17m euros

10 Jul 2012 17:10:25
Blaszczykowski is enquired by Liverpool.Claims his agent------ confirms.Can we sign him eds? {Ed002's Note - Everyone else has been told that he is not for sale.}

I think it is first step.Next we bid then he accepts then medical then scoring.I think he will fit BR style of play.He can play as a winger.He can even score.A good assister.

Great player with pace and skill, would be a fantastic signing imo

Hi eds just a thought on the Dempsey rumours, wouldn't he be the type of signing the american owners are looking for to help bolster the liverpool brand in america considering he is one of their best players
KjC25 {Ed002's Note - From my perspective signings should be for their football ability not for show on a week or two tour.}

I live in America, maybe .00001% of Americans know who is on the national team. The shirts I see over here are Torres, Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, Villa, Pato. Americans like to win and they like big name players, if you want to sell more shirts in America you have to win and sign big name players. None of them know who Dempsey is.
Andrew

Agreed with Andrew on this one... I'd suspect more people in England know who Dempsey is than in America and we've got, what, 6-7x the population to boot?

This bizarre opinion that Dempsey would help with the 'American market' is just, well, bizarre. If this was the case, then Fulham would be the most heavily followed club in America (since they also had McBride), yet in reality all I ever see are Chelsea, Real, and Barca shirts...

All that said, I do personally like Dempsey quite a bit and wouldn't mind seeing him play for LFC if the price were right.

RDL

Dempsey is no where near good enough for even the poor team we have now....the money would be better spent on a player like Sturridge . Pinhead.

I'd rather have Dempsey than Sturridge. Sturridge is badly overrated.

Don't want hin in lfc. Average player with big ego, bad attitude and old age. American owners do not play a major role in choosing players. However, I will be highky disappointed to see dempsey in the red shirt {Ed001's Note - you are a clueless *censored* to suggest Dempsey has a big ego and bad attitude. Talk about complete and utter lies!}

10 Jul 2012 17:09:30
Eds, if Xabi Alonso is in Liverpool, would there be a chance of him re-joining the squad with possibly Ramirez and Kjaer. Also who is this brazlian on his way to Liverpool. {Ed002's Note - I don't know about any of these actually joining Liverpool. A number of Brazilian youngsters were looked at by Liverpool's South American scouts but none are likely to be moving to Liverpool this summer. RAmirez has been done to death. Klaer could be available as Roma failed to pick up the option - but may still.}

Could this Brazilian be lucas moura(spelling) would love that, doubt it tho :( {Ed002's Note - No chance. Sorry.}

10 Jul 2012 16:45:55
Ed002 I look out for your posts probably the most... Just want to ask have you personally have an idea of the 2 players rodgers is talking about...or if you have not looked into it do you think you can please.

Cheers ed
KingMiz {Ed002's Note - There seems to be interest in Dempsey in addition to Borini. Other than that I don't know. There was certainly interest shown in Granero recently.}

Dempsey & Borini are such exciting players, you know. Probably, even more exciting than Lionel Messi. Wow, Rodgers, didn't know you had changed the very definition of 'exciting', you LIAR....as for Granero..well, he's not terrible. But he is still a reject & I don't want him. Why did BR not look at Ramirez? Anybody can tell that, he's better than Granero, Dempsey & Borini combined. Pathetic! Even LFC fans are better at dealing transfers than Rodgers imo.

SUMON VAI

What ed002 is saying is that those are the two players, he is aware off and that does not mean BR is not looking at other players. Give BR a break and judge him at the end of the transfer window. This is possibly one reason the eds dont like to give their views and ruins it for rest of us.

Ed002 neither of these players would get into our starting 11.

10 Jul 2012 16:48:42
Just been told that we are in negotiations for a player by the name of Michu. I dont know much about him, but a quick google search tells me he plays for Rayo Vallecano in Spain and is an attacking midfielder a la Siggurdsson.

Hmm....Michu. Well, I don't know. Eds, help please.

Heard Graham Hunter and Guillem Balague talking about him a few months ago - saying he was one of the best players in La Liga last year but sort of remained under the radar outside of Spain because he's at a relatively small club. Apparently he's a goalscoring midfileder who has blossomed a little later than most as he's in his mid 20's

Mm, I don't know why but somehow this one sounds intriguing and possibly has a ring of truth. Macca, eds, are you able to throw any light upon this one? {Ed002's Note - I expect that Michu is a player who has been watched by scouts of a number of clubs possibly including Liverpool but I think it most unlikely a move to England is going to happen this summer. He only arrived in Madrid last summer.}

10 Jul 2012 16:05:11
Hi eds, With interest growing seemingly stronger in dan agger from real Madrid, do you think it probable/ possible that should the player ask for the move that we will ask for cash and or plus a player, or maybe even offer agger plus money for the likes of alonso, higuain, benzema. Don't get me wrong I certainly don't want to Agger to go but think that we could use the situation (should he wish to go) to get a so called big name as Real do have an abundance of talent that seems surplus to requirements, your thoughts please.
Cheers Riles11 YNWA {Ed002's Note - They have players available including Diarra, Carvalho, Kaka, Granero, Altintop and perhaps Higuain but I really don't see Higuain or Benzema moving to Liverpool.}

Didn't Agger just extend his contract? Sorry if he didn't.....I thought he did.

SUMON VAI

Cant see higuain tbh, modric is worth a lot more than agger and they cant get higuain as part of any deal

Ed i dont understand why would Real Madrid make Higuain available , as they have only 2 out and out strikers. Are they looking for any , if yes then they can, otherwise i dont see the point.

AJI {Ed002's Note - They have been looking at other striker options since January.}

Why not we were prepared to pay £25m pounds for Benzema in Jan. granted it would take alot more now to get Bezema but wha about Higuian at £24m which is 30m euros the price that Jose Morinho said he'd only accept. there is no denying that he is a goal scorer and can play upfront on his own with two wide attacking players or alongside suarez.

i feel if it is at all possible to get Higuain even if it is £26m, we should make it happen, as that would only further show top players that we're not just talking out of our Arse's.

ST; Higuain £24m
AM; Dempsey £7.5m
Wing; Griezmann £13.5m
= £45m

Jus because madrid dont want the players doesnt mean they are gonna go to liverpool.benzema and higuain are far to good for liverpool in the current state the club is in.they would not move to a team outside the champions league

Edoo2 wat about kaka anychance of a lone deal {Ed002's Note - I think it very unlikely. He is available to move and Real Madrid would look to cut all ties with him.}

Higuain and Benzema? Try Diarra or Granero, remember the difference between reality and dreams next time!

10 Jul 2012 15:59:46
It's all gone awfully quiet on the Ramirez front hasn't it? Was it all speculation in the end Ed's?
Borini is clearly a back up striker with potential to improve. I don't understand why people are saying this is a bad thing? We've been begging for a quality, up and coming striker to chip in a few goals for years. I have faith in Rodgers and he must deem him good enough to buy him so show the lad some support!
Also, regarding this guy Ben Smith and Rodgers' off camera remark. Nobody genuinely knows if that was true or not. I would suspect that this 'incredibly exciting signing' is just bulls**t as far as I'm concerned.
I don't see Dempsey being bought. His link is simply that he's American. He won't be coming to Liverpool, it's, again, media bulls**t.
We're very much on the quiet regarding transfers and I don't think anyone will know until it's far down the pipeline. The manager hasn't had time to even assess the whole squad yet, not much will happen yet. Carroll is enigma, who knows what will happen there?

KopQueen. {Ed002's Note - I made what I knew about Ramirez available. There was a statement from his agent and postulation in respect of a whatif scenario. But people decided Twitter was more accurate.}

"Borini is learly a back up striker..." Please explain to me how he is CLEARLY a back up and who would he be backing up ? For me he is a likely starter. Much appreciated .

Luis Carroll

Go on iTunes and theanfieldwrap podcast have put up the audio of him saying that there will be an exciting player signing that the fans will love. It is not bs pal, he actually said it after the press conference. Go have a listen. Langatang

heard from a good source in N.Ireland that Rodgers is keen on julian draxler and lewis holtby from schalke 04. Your thoughts eds? {Ed028's Note - Have heard nothing of it}

Is that "good source" ambiguous tweet earlier then?

Interesting... just mentioned these 2 on Twitter, and he's pretty good when it comes to LFC

RedSG

Doubt Holtby would, he's a life long EFC fan.

I hate these posts most of all, people repeating info posted I. Twitter by and claiming they have a N.Ireland source! Get a grip!

By 'good source in N. Ireland' did you mean ' on Twitter'? To be fair he's very reliable but there's no need pretending you're in the know!

Holt by said he would like to join everton mate

It says in toys paper that man city will sell adebayor to spurs for £5 million and pay most of his wages. So why aren't we looking into buying him. As he is a proven premiership goal scorer.

German red {Ed028's Note - { Old and dosent fit into rodgers style of play}

I doubt city will still pay most his wages once they have sold him.

Same arguments cud be applied against dempsey i m afraid.

Now that has to be the most ridiculous idea ever - you give us 5 million, and we will carry on paying half of his wages ( probably about 5 million a year ) - why not just keep him, have him as a useful sub.

He's not too old and he has the best foot work of a big man and will well fit into BR's style of play.

neostat

He might be the laziest player I have ever seen. He gingerly struts back onside normally resulting in him being offside 5 times a game squandering great potential breaks because he won't move his lazy a$$. Spurs should get 6 million to take him. Also isn't he on like 150k a week
Andrew

He can bang them in left right and centre,he would fit any type of formation for me and at 5 million would be a steal

10 Jul 2012 16:34:17
hi eds what do you think we will be keeping aquilani for a season or is he on the way out onloan or just out the door for good ?
cheers {Ed028's Note - I hope he goes but tbh im not too sure}

We are trying to include him in any deal for Borini. The sticking point is Aquas wage demands as Roma will not pay what he currently earns.

He is staying and im very happy with this not sure why people on this fourm want rid of him give him a chance for flip sake

Yea i would like too see him get a chance rather then other players who have signed deals today shelvey etc

I know it's not exactly a reply to the original poster but why are people saying that Aquilani deserves a chance or he can show what he's worth etc? He has said too many times that he doesn't want the chance. He's back now because he's officially ours and Milan were playing silly beggars with the deal. BR said yesterday (funnily enough as part of a reply to a question about Aquilani) that there is no place for people who have the skill etc but the wrong attitude. Why would we want to give him another chance with only a year left on his contract? He'll play ok till January as a bit part player then look to extend his deal ,after which we would see his true attitude towards LFC shown again.

The reason Aqua was not at training is that he was getting married, and he definately fits into the new policy, just wait and see

Hi Ed i want to know if carol does leave do u expect lfc will sign 2 strikers and do u expect ramirez will sign for us.
Thanx. U guys done a great job. Keep it up. {Ed002's Note - Yes I think two strikers could well be signed. I continue to doubt Liverpool's interest in Ramirez. I postulated a move for him happening perhaps if someone else were to leave - otherwise not.}

10 Jul 2012 16:17:00
Hi Eds heard from my mate who works at melwood that Maxi Rodriguez has had his contract with Liverpool cancelled by mutual consent, is it true. $tiger jay$ ynwa {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Are we in talks with Fulham about signing Dempsey?

Ed is there any interest in Defour? I remember a couple of seasons ago Man U were very heavily linked with the player and we were showing at least some interest but he had a long term injury at the time. He seems a great young talent in the new generation of Belgian stars.
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

1st. Thanks to all the eds for their tireless work
2nd. What Players will likely be leaving club? Surely a few CM will be sold/loaned considering we have Aqualani, Gerrard, Lucas, Cole, Jonjo, Spearing, Hendo and Adam

Stanz
{Ed002's Note - Ecclestone, Aqualani, Maxi, and perhaps one or two more.}

In CM i would keep Gerrard, Lucas, Hendo & Coady for two defensive roles in 4-2-3-1 and lose spearing, aqua & adam (too slow)

would also keep Cole as backup LAM or RAM to keep pressure on new buys and keep Shelvey as back up too......would deffo lose Downing too

Shushyboy

Shelvey has signed a new deal for us today,and will stay happy day's his only 20 well done rodger's.he will only get better an better.walk on walk on,jay essex red for life red till dead

Yes mate jonjo is definatly going to be sold because he just signed a new contract today, its all a big SMOKESCREEN to raise his value

Soooo hoped it was spearing but i guess he is still going to be here

Charlie adam is interesting newcastle according to family contact at my work in Dundee

Ed002 Whats your opinion on Liverpool's transfers situation. I know there is a lot of bs and unrealistic ppl on this site and your replies just seem to say no chance or slim or there may be interest.
What do you think is going to happen?(Opinion) Or do you no nothing?(Facts)

Cheers
LiL Kris {Ed002's Note - BRoadly speaking I don't think much has changed except the target. Don't expect a vast amount spent, don't expect CAvani or Hazard. There is interest in Borini instead of De Jong and I am sure the owners are working with the manager to do some more work.}

This is hard to take! We are Liverpool FC! How come spurs who are also in the europa cup able to be linked with higher calibre players than us... I hope Fenway start putting in some money coz if we carrie on like this top 4 will be a thing of the past... We need to SPEND BIG!!

Liverpool are shopping in poundland the owners should sell the club.

Wake up! Have you had a look at what's happening to Glasgow Rangers at the moment? Our current owners saved us from that. Can you remember where Spurs were four years ago? Times change, things change, stop moaning, we haven't been top four for the past three seasons, but we aren't a billionaires plaything either, thank god. Can someone explain to me how you sign the "top calibre" stars that everyone wants when you are not in the Champions League? Relax, look forward to next season, and above all, be positive.

Hi Eds, anything new on Susaeta this week?

This is someone we should definitely be looking at.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Nothing new.}

Susaeta is the ideal winger for BR's style of play!

Any updates on Jordy Clasie from Feyenoord? Is he likely to move and if so is LFC a possible destination?

Thanks
LFC Brazil {Ed002's Note - I would doubt he would move yet.}

Luk de Jong only wants to go to Germany. Official quote from the player so can rule out any interest from liverpool

Andy

According to local sources, Liverpool are interested in Stoke defender Robert Huth.

10 Jul 2012 14:14:11
Paddy Agnew just said on TalkSport that LFC will need to pay £15 mill for Borini and confirmed our interest. How reliable is he Ed's and surely we won't pay that much for him?

Mark the Selby Red {Ed002's Note - I have said there is interest.}

Total waste of 15M but that's the standard of player we will attract under BR I'm afraid.

15 euro not £15 so it about £12-£13 million

What a joke!! 15 mil for a non starter?? Get Adam Johnson, English and proven in the Prem......

Hi ed's just wondering if you think all three... Borini, Allen & Ramirez will be good for us? I see negative comments about Borini and Allen.. no question f a doubt about Ramirez he'll be fantastic if we get him... I also believe Borini and Allen will be excellent signings.. both have real talent and with these three players I think our next season can bring much excitement.

Also what are the chances of adam, spearing and maxi leaving? I was told by somebody last week there's talk of adam going back to blackpool on a loan.. id be happy with that.. maybe they will buy him back next year..

Don {Ed002's Note - I can't see Adam going on loan to Blackpool.}

Eds, do you know of any interest from other clubs in adam or downing? If Carroll is shipped out, I would imagine the service of adam and downing could be less than required. {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

I cant see it either really.. id just like to see the rumour been true

Weird that this has come around ref Charlie Adam......I live in Thornton Cleveleys not far from Blackpool (eds please confirm my IP location) and over the past week on my way to work I have seen a white Range Rover with reg 26 CA which I know is Charlie Adam's 3 times in the early morning and again on the M6 Northbound just before the M55 turn last Friday at 5am.....I thought it was weird but you never know...I expect he has ties still here anyway?

Maxi Rodriguez is finalizing details to terminate the contract with Liverpool to return to his old club Newell's Old Boys. [via Toda Pasión]

Sounds good, another one of the high earners (90k p/w) off the wage bill hopefully. we could easily get equal replacements for half of the wages. If we were still top 4 then they could justify it!

10 Jul 2012 14:00:49
Roma confirmed our interest in Borini. I think it's fair to say that he will most likely be joining us, however, I don't think he is the exciting new signing.

GoatseGoal

I hope Borini isn't the exciting signing. Maybe the first wrong thing Rogers has said. He may turn out to be good if he does join, but to promote him like he is going to just make the fans excited then not so sure...

He's about exciting as scrambled eggs for dinner! (having said that he knows wher the goal is more than some of our squad lat season!)

Nobby

I hope we sign him - but after the Sigurdsson affair - I won't be counting my chickens just on this one just yet. I thought that the Sig signing was nailed-on.

I don't have a clue who the 'exciting' signing will be though.. I guess that makes it kind of exciting!

Spanish jurno said Agger will be sold to real madrid before the US tour.

I might be totally wrong but wasn't he qouted during the Euro's saying hes contracted for couple more years and would welcome a new contract and is happy at Liverpool? like I say might be totally mistaken, just thought I'd read that somewhere.

hi eds was wondering if there has been any interest in lucas prior to his injury and is he happy in liverpool? would hate to lose him and do you think dalglishs signings would be offloaded? ex. downing,adam etc {Ed022's Note - Lucas will not be leaving, but Adam may perhaps depart.}

Do you know of any teams that are interested in Adam, Ed?

Thanks mate.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - No Blair and I am pretty sure he is still injured.}

Ed how well do people recover from the injury Lucas had? Do you think he will be as good as his form leading up to the injury?

I know that Fiorentina were interested almost 2 years ago right after Rafa left. Nothing recent though.

Roma are talking to liverpool about the transfer of borini according to the president of roma and sly. What a joke he is crap rodgers need to aim for better players

How can he be crap? Your obviously an expert then,

I trust that you have seen Borini play then? Suggest you go to Player Profile for a more balanced view of Borini, rather than utter an unsubstantiated "crap"!!

I'm going to have an educated guess and say you've never seen him play.

You absolutly are an person if you think he is crap, or may be you are trying to judge him on Fifa if you know nothing just shut up

Some flipping fan u are, gibe the lad a chance

All Italian international footballers are rubbish. It's dead easy to get a cap for them. He must be pathetic. Or hang on, maybe it's you that knows nothing.

I've seen Borini couple of times. He is ok, nothing more than that. If we loan Carroll and bring Borini there is nothing to be excited about. If Rodgers thinks this is a player who we will be excited about, then I guess he still thinks he manages Swansea.

Completly agree. If BR thinks off loading Carroll and buying in a second rate Italian will make Liverpool a better team then we have major major issues as a club. I hope its someone else who is the exciting player. If it isnt I wont be watching this season,it will be painful. Can see this bunch of players struggling for top ten if they loose confidence,and the fixture list wont help, its a very tough start to the season. If Carroll goes and Boroni is the best we can do, think i'll stick my cricket.

I wouldn't go as far to say he's crap! But I hope he ain't this special one Rodgers has hinted at!

Redmad

Here's 2 suggestions:

1. Raise the cash to purchase LFC and the investment required to allow Rodgers to aim for better players.

2. Find your way to the door. It's wide open for people like you who haven't given BR a chance.

I take it you have watched Borini on a regular basis to come up with such an educated assessment of his football abilities. Shall we compare him to our own 35m man? He has pace, a very good touch, can hold the line and is a calm finisher with a decent return of goals, which one am I talking about?

Another expert! Liverpool Directors should bow their heads in shame. Tut-tut, they should have made you manager.

Idiot is all I can say

A chelsea pal said he is a real poacher and is actually gutted they still haven't got him. a potential real poacher a la fowler i've been told and he saw him in youth teams etc etc lots!

I will have an educated guess as well and say that you are probably 12 years old

Another positive Liverpool supporter!. Clear ff and go and support somebody else, how do you know he is crap?

MJ

He's not 12?! 12 and 3/4 thank you very much!

So hes the missing link that is suppose to score 20+ goals for us next season. The striker whom we so desperately needed last season.? Now I know he scored 6 goals in 9 for Swansea but if Rodgers sees a first team Liverpool striker in this 21 year old lad then Im speachless. I just hope Im wrong. Seems to me that we arnt getting that much financial support from FSG.

I find it funny all you morons criticising this person for having a go at Borini. What's wrong with that? I too dont think he is good enough and yes I've watched him many of times. Is there something wrong with fans wanting to aim higher than a player who isn't a great player just potentially good.

I have seen him play,average at best i hope we dont sign him and if this are exciting new player god help us! i thought kenny made bad signings!!

Lot of blue noses on our site. Just ignore them. Totally clueless.

Have u seen him play pal coz u dont know wot your talking about . Very good young player .

How can he be crap, Liverpool are interested, that means he must be a fantastic player. Why are modern day Liverpool fans turning in to bigots like utd fans who can't stand someone having a bad opinion of one of our players or a potential player?

With rumours of carrol, our current no9, going out on loan, and with the pending purchases of hulk and hazard from Chelsea, it could be a possibility of El Niño coming back to partner Suarez up front. Cum on guys we adored the guy, and rush did cum bk in the 80's so, it cud happen?? Ynwa

Roma confirm liverpools interest in Borini !!

All confirmed great acquisition, need time and is one for future.

Borini will not be our " exciting " signing FACT. Although im not 100% certain on who it will be, i am very aware that BR will not get our hopes up of a major signing and then announce borini, altho borini may be a taregt and would be a great asset he will not be the big announcement! Alonso may return but not just yet, Di Maria / Kaka are more viable targets....and mock me all you want...Afellay WILL be a liverpool player this season.

EasyD(real)

I agree that Borini won't be the exciting player.

Brendan Rodgers gave the impression that the exciting player deal was all but done. It would be stupid of him to yesterday come out with what he did if the player was Borini given that Roma are reporting that Liverpool are interested (and have possibly submitted a bid).

The only player I can think of who would be "a real exciting one for the club, one the supporters will absolutely love" is Alonso. How could we "absolutely love" a Borini signing? BR can't afford to get our hopes up and then dash them with a signing that hasn't come from a FIFA12 gamers list of targets.

Having said that, I don't think it's Alonso. He wants to win the Champions League with Real Madrid...

10 Jul 2012 11:50:58
Hi ed's!

Is there a chance that our "exciting" signing can be Xabi Alonso? There was a rumour last week that he got released by Real Madrid and he said officially last season that he wanted to finish his career at Liverpool and you ed's said last summer when you were asked about him your reply was always "not this window, maybe next summer". He would definately be a fans favourite and he is the only player I can think of that the fans would love.

Reddie {Ed002's Note - Alonso has not been released by Real Madrid and I would very much doubt that he is the "exciting" new signing.}

Why would they Release Worlds best holding midfielder?

Where on earth did you get or read that real madrid released xabi alonso?

Exciting is probably someone mediocre like the last signings Sigh!

This what happens when people don't think critically about what they read on the internet.

It's rumoured (very important word that, look it up) that Alonso either hasn't signed or doesn't intend to sign the latest contract offer he's gotten from Madrid. But that doesn't mean he's been released by the club. As most of you know, new contracts at major clubs are usually wheeled out 12-24 months before the old one expires. I would guess that Xabi has two seasons left on his current deal, if not longer. He definitely isn't out of contract this summer or virtually every major club in Europe would be after him.

Now he may have told Madrid that he doesn't intend to sign a new deal, or is dis-satisfied with whatever Madrid's current offer is if they are negotiating an extension. So, if that's ture, potentially Madrid could look to offload him, maybe not this year, but next year. But it's only rumours. For all we know Xabi could be about to sign a 3-year extension at Madrid.

- Something Red -

Xabi will be in Liverpool soon but just for a visit he is staying with Madrtid for now

Lfc

I am very sorry guys! Of course they wouldn't release him, I meant that I read somewhere that he didn't want to sign another contract in the hopes of an offer from Liverpool. I would LOVE to get Alonso back! Who wouldn't?

Reddie

10 Jul 2012 11:39:28
Is the whole Agger to Madrid thing just media bull? Would hate to lose him!

Yannlfc {Ed002's Note - They are looking for a centre back.}

FSG will sell just watch all they care about is making money.

Madrid are a team I could see turning Agger's head. I wouldn't be surprised to see Barcelona come in for him as they're also short at centre back and he fits into their philosophy perfectly!

RedSG

Carra would be perfect for them. 10M. La Liga is the perfect pace for him right now ;-)

It better be BULL.....Agger leaving would be worse than Hodgson/Dalglish sending Aqua on loan

Id hate to seehim go but at the same time id love to see him at madrid. Hed do really well. However madrid have Ramos Pepe Albiol Varane and Crvalho( who they will probs sell) so i cant see him getting much game time given how well the partnership if ramos-pepe was last season plus ramos had the season of his career last season. Unless of course Mourinho has decided to have him play as a right back again?

Hey eds, great site. I've been watching Liverpool for a while now, 30 years to be exact. So I grew up with the teams of the 80's when I used to sit down on a weekend and watch us win nearly every game. Now after listening to Rodgers talk about an exciting player and one the fans will love I came up with my own conclusion that it could not be Dempsey or Borini. Can't be, no fan would love either of them to sign even though they are half decent players. They may like them to sign but it doesn't fill me with joy. If I were to love a player we signed I could only imagine this player was world class or a previous fans favourite. I honestly think in my own opinion that xabi could be coming back. He's out of contract in another year, real may want something for him, he lives Liverpool and now would be best time to come back and Rodgers good friends with moanrhino. I'm not saying because they are friends that the deal would be done but just saying Rodgers can contact him to Suss things out. Then again I'm probably way off the mark . Who knows eh?

Brendan

If it was to happen it would be more likely to be in the January window.
FowlerGod.

If you review BR's press conference of yesterday....he talks of signing..."an exciting young player"....this would seem to rule out Alonso...although he may try to sign him in addition to "an exciting young player" !!

Thought he said we were going to sign an exciting player and then when talking about andy carroll described him as a very good young player. not that we are signing an exciting young player, just an exciting one.

I think BR meant the fans will love this player after they see him play, the type of player who gets fans excited etc, unfortunately the football manager brigade have interpreted this as us signing Messi or Alonso coming back.

Sorry mate, but I think you've put 2+2 together and got 5... If only though.

"he lives Liverpool" hell of a commute to madrid that.

Hi ed's and fellow reds, do we have any chance of higuain right now or are the people posting it living in a dream world? I seriously doubt we could afford to buy him and pay him a ridiculous wage to come to us as well? And is he even available? Keighley red {Ed002's Note - Higuain may well move - but to Liverpool? I really don't think that is possible.}

Why not ed dont get too big for your boots because chelsea flucked a champions league {Ed002's Note - What has this got to do with Chelsea and why the dig at me? Cretin.}

Higuain is very commited to trying to keep his place at madrid, Perez has never been a fan and has been trying to get rid for a while. He has previously said he would not move to an english club though last year I was told that when Chelsea were interested his stubborn stance was softening a little.

His primary goal though is to stay at Madrid. He has a good relationship with mourinho and a couple of coaches speak very highly of his conduct away from football as well.

All of this Borini nonsense started because somebody found he worked under Rodgers at Chelsea and he's played for Swansea under Rodgers. I highly doubt we are interested in signing an unproven striker who doesn't score too many. If I'm wrong so be it and I'd fully support him.

Rodger's closing in on 2 deals possibly this week, literally nobody has a clue on who it is, even the Eds are finding it hard to get solid information, but is it out the question that we are looking at Dembele Eds? I know all the media hype is around Dempsey at the moment, and you have clarified we have solid interest which I'm sure we do as he a great player, but he is in his late 20's I think the younger Dembele would be much more valuable addition to our team. (I'm not starting a crappy rumour here)

Just wanted to see if the Eds think its a possibility!

LFC1802 {Ed002's Note - There is certainly interest in Borini right now.}

Fair enough, I know nothing much about the lad, just his stats on paper and they don't seem too good, but hey he's 21 years of age and all too prove so if he happened to come to us I'd fully support him, however, you didnt quite answer my question about Dembele, you think we could be interested Ed? Thanks for the reply mate.

Has something changed Ed? Do you mean from Liverpool or in general? Cheers

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - The interest in Borini is there but I do not know if Roma would sell and I do not know if he would want a return to England so soon.}

Borini's strike rate wasn't that bad for a 21 year old in his first season in Seria A. Dembele's strike rate (although an attacking midfielder) is awful. There's too much speculation from different sources at the moment for this link to be without foundation. The Dempsey link is interesting because it's not in keeping with stated policy of buying young but we are in desperate need of goals. merthyr red.

Roma have confirmed that Liverpool have made an offer and are considering it according to reports in Italy.
Red sheep.

A move backwards if we sigh him. Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world, I'm sure we can sign much better players than him.

For people who quote stats look at torres' goal record before he joined liverpool.....gmil

so kaka wants to come to the premiership with ether liverpool or man u i hope we can get him

I've not read anywhere but here that Kaka wants to come to the Premier League, but if this is genuinely the case, is this the signing that Rodgers mentioned being "exciting"?

We dont want kaka he is just a merceniary an overpaid out of form over the hill one at that {Ed002's Note - How is he a "mercenary".}

Well past his sell-by date and would want too much in wages...no chance!

Kaka is past it now...if we are going in that direction let's re sign Owen and go for Ronaldo (Brazil) !!!

For the guy who said kaka in a mercanery you hvemnt a clue what ur talkin about kaka threw his carear ha been offerd stupid money to move but he stayed loyal to his clube he spent most of hislife at the only reason he did leave was because the club wanted him to be sold so dont go round slaggin people off for no reason its not fare

OMG When did we get so good that Kaka's not good enough for us?!?! He's pure quality and no more 'over the hill' than Stevie G or Alonso. Lunatics!! He'd be an absolute pleasure to watch, a TRUE world class performer

He would be coming for the money and not to play for the club we need young hungry players who want to prove themselves and be proud to wear the lfc shirt not players who are coming to the end of their playing days and are happy to see them out sitting on the bench half the season through injury still on a big fat pay cheque

Good player would live him to join but won't happen

10 Jul 2012 11:26:02
I don't think the "exciting player" will be Borini. He isn' t that exciting, but more a good prospect. Demspey should be a no-brainer given our need for goals and American owners. I think the new signing will be K. Honda.

Red Kipper

Things said by Rodgers in that interview are different depending on what website you look at. sly haven't used the word exciting, nor have several others. Fox have, but I don't believe Rodgers ever used the word exciting. Glad you think Honda will be the new signing though, he should met your 'exciting' requirements.

Cheers eds,
TommyB

He said the words exciting to ben smith from bbc after cameras had stopped rolling, he tweeted it. so it all could be false. people perseive things the way they want . like the carroll thing rodgers actually said ive spoke to carroll and he knows whats expected like ive spoke to all players and they know too. all of a sudden he is getting sold or let out on loan.

I watched the interview, he definitely saud someone we all would love.

Hi Ed's.

Was reading about Dempsey. Isn't he a bit old for the kind of 'no old player policy' ?

YNWA
Carl {Ed002's Note - I am by no means sure that the policy is written in stone.}

Yeah, but if the price is 6-8 million then that balances out his age. Add in the USA factor and the fact that he's a model prof who has at least4/5 years left in him (and his incredible return of 23 goals last season - more than all our forwards put together) then I think he would be a great buy at anything up to 10 million.

I dont see it happening with cole coming back an maybe alberto and a clean slate for injury's were prity covered for potential goal scorers holding an defensive mids we NEED a right mid and we lack a creative mid one that reads between the lines and asks questions of the defenders without an obvious pass to a striker

They will only buy Demsey because he is from the states.

If we were going to ignore the 'age' policy surely it would be for a decent player and not someone like dempsey!?

Dempsey may be 29 but he's American, as are the owners and exactly what they could do with before the American pre-season tour. Plus, the boy can play and score a bit too.

I'd have thought ed002 a policy would have been written down on paper, unless of course the a field admin dept made a really big error on their staples order ;)

Morning Ed002. You have mentioned lately that you would expect that Carroll might be sold if a proper offer was to be received. Has this always been your opinion or has your opinion changed due to some sort of info that you might want to share over that last weeks or so? I would have hung my hat on him staying, at least this season but obviously i bow to your superior knowledge on these issues. Or is it just a hunch so to speak? Cheers

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - I have been of the opinion for a long time - the issue is whether an acceptable bid would be made.}

I can't see it happening until at least Uraguay knocked out of the Olympics ..
Otherwise it will just be stupid starting the season without a familiar striker.
Roy

thanks for that. So has there been any interest in buying him from at home or abroad. I assume that this on loan to AC Milan is bull.

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - There is only one enquiry for him that I am aware of and mentioning that a few weeks ago resulte d in a bunch of abuse.}

Wont happen its media b.s to stir up a liverpool player conflict an shake andy just as hes getting into his swing of things back to newcastle days hes staying in will have a hell of a season... maybe after he has a class season an teams come in at the 30m mark for him. creative attackers are ten a penny its what every attacker can be with the right training but a player with andys physical an technical ability are hard to find granted we paid way to much for him and wont ever get it back if we slate him an force him out the club but for what he may be one day its a snip a young ibra (it took him years to get to the level hes at today) and carrol has already shown he can abuse defenders just look at what he did to terry im a big fan and he can become great an this season will be all about liverpool an the carrol suares partnership

ibwt

ynwa

adamlfc {Ed002's Note - Why would teh media do that. Ridiculous thought.}

If you tell me Ed, i promise not to abuse you! lol. An enquiry only? Not a formal offer?

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - Right - just an enquiry.}

Dont think lfc would sell carol they would loose to much money and due to his age he has room to improve given time n he can still be a match winner with his heading ability remember tony hateley

I think people (and possibly the Eds) are reading to much into Brendans ambiguos reply when asked about Carroll at the press conference.

I have feeling that the "exciting" signing is going to be ozil I remember Liverpool having an aparant interest in him during the January transfer, and I believe Jose not seeing him in his plans, especially if real Madrid are in for modric that plays a similar position to him just a thought and a hope really what do the eds or anyone think on the chances of this ?

Redman

Why wouldn't he have Özil in his plans? He played almost every game last season and did great.

Reddie

It's Pedro, heared from my mate who knows Darren Burgess, he accidently let the news slip.

Very very slim i think high wages and wants to win big trophies i just cant see it happening

I think the chances are so slim, we probably have just as much chance of signing messi! however, if we did pull that one of it would make my year!

Defo got a shot after we have had a bid rejected shows we are after him... i believe it may be kaka whos up for 20m toooooo much for a 30 year old but if they get modric i reckon it will drop. an we moan about paying 34m for carrol when they pay 50 an hardly use him

Doubt it as Özil is miles better than Luka Modrić

Modric is going to madrid as a sub as its all over the spanish press, the only madrid players that could leave would be kaka, granero, possibly higuain and a few others

10 Jul 2012 17:07:36
Would love this to be true, but Ozil wouldnt leave Madrid for a team that finished 8th would he?

Riles

I would love this to be true but unfortunately i cant see it happening :(

Liverpool fans are living 20 years in the past.in my opinion ozil is the 4th best player in the world behind messi,ronaldo and iniesta.why on earth would he move to a team who finished 8th in the PL and havnt been in the CL for 3 seasons.every top team in the world would be in for him if he was available!never gonna happen EVER!

Elia gone to Bremen. Another target lost.

We can't sign every single player in the world you know!? If we could then Elia, Jovetic, Kjaer, Ramirez, Granero, Higuain, Sturridge, Moses, Sigurdsson, Traore, De Jong, Johnson, Lloris, Wanyama, Coutinho, Lucas, Iturbe, Borini and Tello would all be part of the team just based on the wishes of the people on this website.

Not every single signing that happens in the world is Liverpool missing out. What a stupid comment

Last i recall he hasn't actually been mentioned as a target by any of the past three managers.....

Are you joking? He was a target season ago to whih interest was lost and the latest stories have just been reproduced. He wasn't a target this year. So we havnt lost him don't know. Plus is its a high enough standard he didn't progress as expected.
Irving4

Who said he was a target? The papers or fans on this site? Can't remember the club announcing he was a target

I wish people would stop this nonsense of we've missed out him and him...

"For players to be associated with Liverpool is great, but the reality is we've only made three or four enquires about players and we hopefully can close out one deal this week, maybe two."

AK47 {Ed002's Note -

Or just maybe, he wasn't even a target?! do my head in these kind of posts.

Who said he was a target? Rodgers?
"The reality is we've only made three or four enquires about players and we hopefully can close out one deal this week, maybe two."
AK47

Quite simply, (a) he wasn't a target because (b) he is utterly useless with no end product, just fast.

Ed 22 mate, if you had a guess as to who lfc were looking at who would it be? You seem pretty sure it's not borini...

Cheers

Lfcmatt {Ed022's Note - I was expecting news regarding Ramirez soon but it seems to have gone a little quiet, although I am sure there is interest there.}

{Ed022's Note - I was expecting news regarding Ramirez soon but it seems to have gone a little quiet, although I am sure there is interest there.}

======================
I think there is strong interest, I appreciate what ED002 have posted few times, but feel there is a lot of substance to the Ramirez stories, as far as I remember, Rodrigo Romano was the first to talk about Liverpools interest in Suarez back in December 2010

Roy

Ramirez won't be happening Ed0022's. Not that i'm trying to put a downer on things. He has better options that will pay better wages it is a simple as that.

Honky

I was hoping you would say ramirez, not that it means it is! He's one of the players I would love to see us sign.

Cheers for the reply

Lfcmatt

The interest to sign Ramirez went with Comolli and Kenny. It is clear all this Liverpool speculation is to smoke other suitors out to make better offers such as Napoli and Juve.

hi eds love the site! was just wondering if we can expect any signings this week? {Ed022's Note - I believe there will be an advancement in the next few days. Don't ask me who/what/when, as it's still unclear to me also. All I do know is that things will become clearer in the next few days.}

10 Jul 2012 09:36:01
Ed's any chance of Kjaer if skrtel leaves? Looked great at the euros alongside agger, and surely wouldnt cost more than £12M?

Youthy {Ed022's Note - It is possible.}

Kjaer is a far better player than skertl. Skertl is a great defender but a limited defender. Kjaer is a ballplaying defender. Would fit in very well with Agger

Looks like agger is going too. hope neither go

Kjaer is not good enough for liverpool. too inconsistent for starters..

10 Jul 2012 09:05:59
Adam Johnson is still a target for Liverpool. Manchester City may demand too much for the player though.

At least you're not posting the impossible. F.E: Higuain, Alonso.

SUMON VAI

Borini is not going to sign for us, it's all press talk!

But a Brazilian is on his way

Thanks for your opinion on Borini, but how do you know for sure? And please keep your intimate hair styling to yourself in future - this is a respectable site.

Please tell me this is true. che_47

10 Jul 2012 08:27:41
The exciting transfer is Gonzalo Higuain, 100%!

GoatseGoal

Rodgers had got the press all over the place, they have no idea what he is planning and are covering themselves by mentioning every name under the sun. How good it is to have a manager like we deserve.

Good, i'd hate to think we're getting anything less, and frankly i find it a bit barbaric that Real Madrid even entertained the idea of only selling off part of him. I swear, i thought you'd be able to draw the line at phsycial abuse towards players, let alone dismembering them and selling them off by the kilogram, but it seems football clubs can get away with anything these days...

Would be a great signing as he is a goal hungry player n thats what we need

Kjaer, is not a good defender. Makes way too many mistakes.

10 Jul 2012 06:31:08
Do you think edin dzeko would be available? I think he would prove a worthy addition. Hanky. {Ed022's Note - Yes he is available, however a move to Germany looks likely at this time regarding a deal involving Muller.}

I don't think he is needed whilst Andy Carroll is still at the club

RedSG

So Dzeko is likely to end up at Munich? Does that mean Gomez is on the move? {Ed002's Note - Gomez is not movng and Milan is an option for Dzeko.}

10 Jul 2012 07:46:45
If reports are true & Carroll is on his way with Borini + Dempsy coming in, does this mean the "excitng transfer" is more than likely a striker? We are already overload with midfield players & I can't see Saurez as the out-&-out striker. Looking around the continent I'm looking at players that will fit the mould of a BR team.
Ibrahimovich, Villa, Llorente, Remy would be one of my choices.

Gav the Red {Ed002's Note - The exciting news would be Borini in that case.}

Borini should never be allowed to wear a liverpool jersey.

I will be furious if we let Caroll go cheap.. He just started playing well. I can't believe it's true.. Rodgers sounded coy.. Worrying

Gazman

Is it just me who'd be sad to see Carroll go? Ok he had a bit of a crap start but towards the end of last season he was one of a few players who actually looked like he wanted to play and win, and he showed excellent form in the Euros.

As the Eds have continued to say - Carroll will not be leaving - nothing BR has said indicates Carroll is not wanted - it's the press believing AC Milan ( as if you would believe anything they say ), putting 2 and 2 together and not making 4. And please tell me why the signing of an 8 million pound not proven in the EPL striker could be classed as exciting - good player, but exciting signing - I think not, same goes for Dempsey.

John B

I still can't believe all this hype behind theborini transfer saga. He's not that good!! Really! He is not a player that's going to justify even a 10 million transfer fee. Maybe he's had a good season in Italy. But the premier league is so much more physical. Poor signing in my opinion. Especially because of the size of club Liverpool are!

Rogers said the signing would excite us... I think me and BR have different definitions of excitement.

If llorente would fit the mould of a BR team then so would carroll

Rodgers needs to go back to swansea if these are the type of players he is after.

Shocker, AC Milan Rodgers Liverpool, we must like we keep going back for more.

Ian

Big name players or big signings don't mean anything. Look at Cisse & Ba at NUFC compared to the price we paid for Carroll. Its about the team & not an individual. If we get Borini, I can see him playing right in a front 3 "Kuyt role" - good technique, work horse & an eye for goal.
We are a massive club, but at the moment a 2nd tier team. We have to back the manager & have realistic expectations of what we can achieve this season.

Gav the Red

People talk nonsense... pluss where the excitement if you and br think thats exciting dont play chess

Without champs league to top established players will sign for us. Dalglish blew a fortune and we have to look at bargains or top 4 cast offs. E.g. Adam johnson. We need massive rebuild and face at least 5 years in the wilderness introducing younger team who will develop together as a team.

All the players you named are to goood for liverpool and would demand to high wages and transfer fee

10 Jul 2012 07:38:16
Roma forward Fabio Borini is expected to become Brendan Rodgers' first signing as Liverpool manager.
The 21-year-old Italy international worked with Rodgers at the Chelsea academy and on loan at Swansea.
Talks between the parties are ongoing and although the deal has yet to be agreed, the potential fee is likely to be in the region of £8m.

Problem is Italians and the prem league don't often work well!

10 Jul 2012 02:37:14
what are the chances do you think eds that we could get Schurrle? I think as present he hasn't been purchased by anyone and although i seriously doubt he is the 'exciting player' we await, personally i think it would be a great buy

gareth {Ed002's Note - Slim.}

Again - if you believe the British gutter press, a £25 million bid has already been rejected for the player.

John B

09 Jul 2012 23:48:26
hi ed's, do you think we could be signing stefan jovetic from
fiorentina (he's an exciting player and i think fans would love him in a red shirt). Fiorentina have also put a bid in for chamak so they could be signing a replacement.

thanks ed
ks {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}

09 Jul 2012 23:19:44
Im trying not to knock the fella, but i really hope it isnt this Borrini fella as the one that Rodgers thinks the fans will be excited about. Or Granero if im being honest, i would hope it was Ramirez but i know according to Ed002 that there isnt any confirmed interest. I also am praying he is right about Borrini.

The Irish Rover

I agree. Who is Borini supposed to excite? It looks like we are buying a very young back up striker at best if it's true.

Gazman

Hi Irish Rover, Mate haven't you watched Borini? I mean, if you have watched him I cannot understand how you would NOT like him. Mate this is Borini in a nutshell:

Calm and composed in front of goal, superb pace and accelleration, intelligence like Fowler, good with either feet, deadly finisher, decent in the air, doesn't miss a chance, supeb reading of the game and a very, very hard worker to say the least. Former Chelsea boss Anchelotti described him as the next Filippo Inzaghi. Natural talent mate, pure natural talent but if this were not enough he is a fine professional too. Chin up our kid, this one is VERY much worth the while. {Ed022's Note - There is no way you're describing Borini. I have no idea what YouTube video's you've seen of him, or what Wikipedia article you've read around him, but that is not Borini, believe me.}

Rodgers had got the press all over the place, they have no idea what he is planning and are covering themselves by mentioning every name under the sun. How good it is to have a manager like we deserve.

GET REAL

Granero is a good and clever player. Very versatile too. I would be happy with signing him only reason he doesnt play for madrid is the star studded first team. Mourinho has said plenty of times he likes Granero there is just no space for him to play with all that competition.

09 Jul 2012 23:15:24
JUST BEEN READING THE POSTS AND IM REALLY CONFUSED ABOUT STURRIDGE! COULD ONE ED CLARIFY IF WE HAVE A CHANCE OR NOT?

"ed do u think we gonna sign sturridge and is there any chance of signing alexandro pato from ac milan?? {Ed022's Note - No to both, unless they both randomly decide to halve their wages.}

Hi eds is the 6 mill bid for dempsey true ? Heard anything on Carroll or sturridge ?

An is it me or has the Ramirez rumour died of ?

Great site

Sponge Bob x] {Ed042's Note - it's possible. I highly doubt Carroll will leave this window. Sturridge is a possibility. And I don't know what's going on with Ramirez right now.}"

{Ed002's Note - There has been no approach to Chelsea about Sturridge at this time. If an acceptable bid were made Chelsea would not stand in his way if he wished to leave.}

10 Jul 2012 01:59:56
The idea is four players in and four players out..

Maybe Carroll is one of the four, all depends what figure they can get..

Cheers

Macca {Ed016's Note - Real Macca}

I sincerely hope Carroll is not one of those out. If its him out and Borini in I'll be disappointed.
KiwiRed

Nice one macca !keep up the good work!
Personally I like big A.C. but I'm happy also for him to move on.. guess that means were looking for two forwards now?

OredZ!

I wonder if Macca thinks that Kuyt come under 'one of the four out'. I don't think our squad is big enough for it not to include him and even Aurelio for that matter

Assuming Kuyt is included in that 4, I guess it'd be a safe bet that 2 of the others are Maxi & Spearing (unless no DM cover can be found)... So I suppose it'd make sense that the 4th would be Carroll, given the noises that are being made. Personally I would prefer to trash Downing, although maybe his style will fit better with BR's ideas.

If we sold Kuyt, Spearing, Maxi & Carroll & brought in superior replacements (Gaston, Munian, Borini etc.), I would be feeling quietly optimistic about our chances of playing some quality football & pushing higher up the table than in the last few seasons.

Thanks as always for the info Macca.

Who would you like to see brought in (not who you think, but if you were wearing BR's hat)?

YNWA

SHOTGUN! The Kop.

I want Carroll to stay but ideally Downing, Spearing and Adam would be out. I don't think Downing will leave however as he's comfortable on the ball and could play the style Brendan wants. Coming in I want Clasie, Ramierez, Borini and Messi!!

No doubting you Macca. Just hope the four players out are
Spearing
Cole
Aquilani
Maxi / Charlie Adam
don't want any others leaving. As for the In's I am ready to welcome who ever the Gaffer wants.

Is Kuyt included in this 4 out? or another 4 a top of who has left?

I sinceely hope Maxi stays - he was our top scorer in the 10/11 season and never got the chance to get in form last term. he is probably the one player in the squad who can play with Suarez. unless of course Luis is also one of the four...

Macca and eds then who will replace him? {Ed029's Note - If you are referring to Andy Carroll potentially going, I would say that if he does leave (and unfortunately I don't know one way or the other at the moment) it would be because BR doesn't want that type of player and therefore he is unlikely to bring in a like for like replacement but I would hope he would bring in another striker}

Hi Macca,

Is that 4 players out on top of Kuyt and Aurelio? Or just 2 more as they have already gone?

Cheers

It would be very unproductive to sell Carroll at this time...if he's sold now then we might as well sell Downing as there would be no use for him in the system...

Kuyt has already left, Aqua is all very likely to leave which would leave 2. If Carroll does go & Dempsy + Borini come in, then if anything we'd of not touched our transfer budget, possibly even increased it a tad. Does this mean a marquee signing? I think this money will be used for Munian.

Gav the Red

Any idea on any of the other players possibly going out or any other targets macca? your info is always much appreciated mate.

cheers

Thanks Macca.
Kuyt's out already & I'd expect Adam, Aquilani & Maxi to be the other 3. Surely we'd get at least £10m for those? Before I get a slating for speculating, this is a rumours site! No inside info on Ramirez?

Thanks for Info Macca.. Appreciate your Insigt.. But i would keep hold of Carrol..He would/could be our Plan A or B depending on Opposition and situation.... All be it an expensive Plan B..
Also if it does not work out for him its okay, his age gives us this luxury...
Atlease the lad needs a go after giving some solid performances..

Borini ideally should be replacement for Kuyt not carroll. (4 Strikers counting Bellamy as one).

Would Kuyt and Aurielo count as 2 players that have already have left the club, so there would only be 2 player exits left? {Ed022's Note - No.}

Kuyt, Aquilani, Bellamy, Adam - they would be my four - hopefully not Andy.

LIVERPRES {Ed022's Note - I'm not sure Kuyt counts or not.}

You dont know how exxcited i am that macca is back!! i nearly pooped my pants when i saw this post! thanks macca and eds

Jpow_LFC

I feel sorry for BR if he has to buy players as poor as woy had to , why did kenny get so much and then get sacked.

Do Aurelio & Kuyt count as one of these? Or is it 4 more players?

Well kuyt has already left so three more to go or does he not count

Deanalfie

Thanks macca......

I really hope it's not Carroll, all he needs is wingers that can cross the ball and he will score goals. I not sure of the number but how many goals did we score from crosses last year - I bet the number is really low. I would love Carroll to stay and prove everyone wrong - I'd like to see Downing, Spearing and Adam leave

Hi Macca

Would kuyt count as one of the four or is it four more.

Thanks to you and the edd's for all your work

I hope Rodgers isn't getting carried away with Spain winning the euros without a striker and trying to directly copy that system; resulting in being rid of Carroll...we don't have the passing quality of Spain or the experience of their players within the system...

Caroll out + Borini in = Liverpool worse. I can't believe that one Macca

Gazman

Could be a number of players Kuyt, Aurelio have gone, Eccelston, Wilson, Pacheco, Maxi are likely with slim chance of Adam and Spearing leaving.

I for one hope Carroll stays think he has a lot more to give and owes LFC some loyalty for a poor return of goals last season.

YNWA jns

Sorry totally forgot Cole and Aquilani. So 4 players out I don't think we have or will miss.

YNWA jns

I for one would be furious if Big Andy was sold. All this rubbish being said he doesnt play BR football is unbelievable, did nobody watch the Euro's. Everytime Carroll played he was our only striker who could actually hold up a ball and use it by passing it. BR likes possesion football and Carroll has this in abundance, Rooney, Wellbeck & Young gave the ball away with pretty much every pass they made.

Plus Dempsey does not fit in with FSG sell on policy or youth policy as he is 29 now which is only 2 years younger than Mr Kuyt so dont see that being his replacement.

Lets face it the newspapers are making up stuff to wind us up like normal and nobody knows who BR has in his sights or who he wants to sell.

So please stop with the pointless begging of the EDs and Macca for answers they have said on numerous occasions that they can only give us opinions at this stage as BR is keeping his cards close to his chest.

Keep the faith people

JonBoy6
YNWA JFT96

IF Carroll goes and Borini & Dempsey come in I am going to go on record here and say BR will bring back Xabi

Gentlemen, lets not take this as gospel, Macca himself says that things can change from day to day...
I personally think big Andy will remain atleast until January.

Rodgers has said that he does not have a "wheel-barrow of money" but then what do you expect him to say?

I believe we will make some good signings and get rid of some of the fringe players on high wages.

Thanks
Faizal

Does the four out include Dirk Kuyt and Fabio aurelio??

Carroll, Suarez, Skrtel & Reina out

Borini, Giovinco, Krasic & Lloris in.

Disney!

Disney, you're crazy! And while we're at it we might as well get rid of Agger, Johnson and Lucas.

I don't see the point in selling Carroll at this stage. We'll be lucky to get half the amount we paid for him, but he is showing signs of improvement.

But for me, say we come up against teams who will play to negate our passing game, and we need to go through a more direct route, Carroll is the one you'd call for.

Personally I think if he was sold, he'd go to a team who would look to build their play around him and he will be a force to be reckoned with, on a par with Drogba.

As some of the eds, have said, Borini may not even come to LFC, so we'd be boing through a different list all over again next week...

RedSG

I'd assume that kuyt is not one of the four as BR assessed the squad when he was already gone.

jtr

Kuyt (Gone)
maxi (as good as gone)
aqualani (wont be staying)

possible
joe cole (rumoured to be staying though)
agger (real if rumours are to be believed)
skertal (city "")
adam (villa "")
thats the only realistic business i see happening the 4th i believe will be cole

Well to be honest it's common sense ppl the four leaving must be
Aqualani
Joe cole
Maxi
Bellamy
So we gt nothing 2 worry About

Did anyone actually watch the first half of the season last year when charlie adam looked dangerous infront of Lucas, giving suarez and the occasional enrique/johnson run up with perfect through balls or am I going mad? He's not a dominating mid, nor is he a defensive one at that. His brash tackles and poor play on the back half are because he had to cover for Spearing's awful play.
If there's anyone I'd expect to go its Pacheco, Aquaman, Aurelio, and Downing with Spearing in that loop as well. Downing squandered way too many chances and Adam is too good of a spot kick man to just dump after one half of a rough season (which almost every player struggled to perform). In the city game he had an assist and had a goal robbed from him by a spectacular save from Hart. Have some faith boys, the man's there for a reason.

Don't know which four players Macca has said, but I would think that the following positions that will need strengthening are thus:

Defensive Midfielder (?)
Right Winger (Ramirez?)
Striker (Borini?)
Attacking Midfielder/Forward (Dempsey?)

Players out:

Aquilani?
Spearing?
Maxi?
Cole or Adam?

I would be happy with those signings.

Young player El Shaarawy of AC Milan may be joining on a season long loan deal, heard this through a friend who knows people in Milan, he is very highly thought of and great things are expected of him.
Anyone ever hear of him? I had some fun looking for the right spelling of his name, an Italian definitely pronounces it different than me.

He's of Egyptian heritage but plays for Italy. He's decent , played in the champs league for them, he won't be going anywhere on loan.

Dodge

His name is not Italian its Egyptian because thats were his father is from. The Kid can play no doubt. Had a few games last year but didnt set the world on fire. If we took him on loan it would be pointless as we would just be helping them out. What benefit would we get. His not quite ready for Serie A so his sure aint ready for the prem.

Yeah mate seen a bit of him when he has come of the bench for Milan. Great touch very quick and agile plays a bit like Sterling if had to compare him to someone. I think he is one of Milans hottest prospects tho. But you never know, it could happen. Also I think his name is Arabic so Italians might pronounce it the same as we do. Well they would try. haha

Eds did you see that after br announced an exciting signing a Mr Xabi Alonso arrived at john lennon airport? Could this be connected or am i clutching at straws here? but 100 % guarantee that Xabi has arrived in john lennon airport

Lfc paddy {Ed016's Note - Sorry mate, twitter is pulling your leg.}

We all wish you were telling the truth, with him back that would be one massive area of improvment. but sadly will not happen :(

kellyclan

As brilliant as Alonso was I think it's time to let it go. His passing was amazing but didn't score many goals and didn't move very far from sitting in front of the defense. I imagine his age would be a problem for FSG as well.
Lets start looking forward

He wont come back while Carragher's in charge, JC treated him like sh*t along with a few others

Ed016, Do you think that Borini could be a good signing? I think at 8 mill (if correct) it could be a good bit of business. We've needed a striker like him for a while. He was in the Italy 23 man squad for the Euros. Prandelli and Rodgers seemed to rate the kid. United took a punt with Hernandez at 7 mill. Borini is in the same mould as Hernandez and for 8 mill. Borini could be a shrewd bit of business.

What do you think mate?

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed016's Note - I think the whole story was made up. The media like to link managers to players they have worked with in the past as it gives them more "credibility" to their made up fantasy lala story or so they hope to make the reader believe. I think he would be a good signing however. Especially if his wages are as low as the supposed transfer fee.}

Hernandez is s**te.. flash in the pan. hasnt been in the utd starting 11 for ages.

Gazman

I've seen BBC get it wrong, in that they thought something was nailed on and it didn't get through, but not seen them make it up entirely (Unlike most the papers). Don't Know I think there is more truth to it than Eds think.

BBC are reporting the Borini story, and to be fair they don't make up stories...

Stone YNWA.

I can't remember a single Italian player that did well for us; Anyone ?

Roy

Hernandez is a great poacher, fastest player at the WC, what he does is score goal, nothing else, no defense, no passing, just scoring. I think he is exactly what we need considering the amount of balls suarez laid across the 2 begging to be put in.

Just been told by my cousin who was at uni in liverpool. was graduating today, were jamie carragher picked up an honourary award. Said that Xabi Alonso is expected to return and that fortress investment are the naming partner to sponsor the new stadium in stanley park. with a deal estimated at £185 million.

Bit of a strange shout for Fortress Investments. Not sure if this makes this more or less plausible... Hmmm.

Yes, it sounds legitimate. Without a shadow of a doubt would JC share this private information with someone he doesn't know. Grand job on your investigative journalism; however, fail on your hyperbole.

I like the idea of the...Fortress Anfield has a nice ring to it!
Mr McDoodle

Love the idea of the Fortress naming rights though.

I love the way professional footballers are portrayed as being pathologically unable to shut up about potential transfers to randomers they meet in the street.

Where did people drum up this crap about buying a world class player!?
I'm sick of it! I believe in Suarez! damn it i believe in Carrol too, F**k Hazzard's, Mata's and Cavani's This is Liverpool Football Club and I'm proud to support a team where players play for less money so they can wear the prestigous shirt with pride! The resuregence of LFC has begun start singing Reds!
YNWA
Possitivly Red!

Well said mate,even one day liverpool get relegated i will still fully support LFC....YNWA!!

We are all proud to support lfc but it does not mean our players are the best.

Having too many good players never works-chelsea

Yes, I would hate to have Hazard, Cavani or Mata....or Ronaldo, Messi...fk em all, well said!...Give me Charlie Adam, Downing, and Spearing any day! Muppet.

Nice in theory... but we are one of the highest payers of wages there are, so not sure how many play for us for the shirt over their wages!

Having no good players doesn't work either - lfc

First of chelsea jus won the CL so clearly something has worked there.second the reason liverpool pay lower wages is because the players they have are nowhere near as good as the players you jus mentioned.its nothing to do wit wanting to play for the "mighty reds" its jus the best they can do

There's an image of the LFC website listing Dempsey as a player that was later removed, could have been photo shopped tho

Clint Dempsey to join for a fee around 7 million and former Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso to rejoin his former club Liverpool

Would like to go on record and say I deserve egg on my face as I understand that Borini is on the verge of signing for Liverpool. I personally dont think hes good enough for Liverpool still, but that is why I am not manager of LFC. Thankfully. I hope and I am sure BR knows what he is doing......I wish Borini the best of luck and I hope he proves me wrong. Especially after what I said about him.....I was unfair

Thanks

Kam

Stating you where wrong is a quality sadly missing in society these days buddy... But, your on your own here, lots of posters on this site, including the Ed's and myself, will always front up if we screw up. Fair play to ya mate, fair play...

Stevie.

Takes a big man to admit a mistake {Ed016's Note Borini isn't even on the verge of becoming a Liverpool player. No egg on your face yet mate...}

You were not unfair Kam, you ae entitled to you opionion and at least you were just complaining like so many others. Not sure about him myself but do think BR will get the best out of him

gareth

He is more than good enough mate. Kind of a mix between Filippo Inzaghi and Robbie Fowler. Fowler's hardworking attitude, and Filippo Inzaghi's intelligence and finishing ability. You should be more than over the moon mate, trust me, this lad is sublime!

I hope he does become sublime. That would be awesome! And thanks for the reassurance Ed016 lol. Appreciated. However, it looks increasingly likely that he will make the move........Like every other player though, he will get supported according to his performances

Thanks

Kam

Hi eds just writing to say on the liverpool squad page just saw that the name C.Dempsey at the end of the page problably no substance to it just saying.

D690

I doubt it, the website is way behind the BBC on Liverpool rumours so this seems very unusual or to put it another way nonesense

ed 01,i heard a rumour today that stewart downing has handed in a transfer request, have u heard anythin mate? {Ed001's Note - not a thing sorry.}

He probably tried to put it on Brendan's desk and missed, then picked it back up, ran 100 yards backwards and handed it to Jose Enrique.

I have just been told by an agent for a England international that Liverpool are in the market for quite a few players. They are having problems attracting players tho due to no champions league. What I was told is that we are looking at two Real Madrid players and if we get the big name out of the two it will be a big sign that the board are backing Rodgers! I did grill him and try to get names but he would not budge! What he did say is that Liverpool are monitoring a player from holland called jordi something, I can't remember his full name! He also told me that Adam Johnson wants the move to Liverpool but believes it won't happen due to city holding out for there estimation of the player!

If this IS true, the 'small' name would be Granero you'd have thought. Big name possibly Higuain? Couldn't stop laughing at the Ozil post earlier.

Jordie is of course Clasie. We should pull out all the stops to get him because in a couple of years he'll be one of the hottest players on the planet. Be nice to have him.

I realise you are not mind readers eds but who do you think personally the exciting player rodgers was talking about is? cheers 5stars

{Ed016's Note - No one knows, not the media not us. Currently its all being kept really quiet, we knew Kuyt was going to leave but we didn't know when or who he was going to sign for up until the very second everyone else found out. It's tough to find real info, we don't want to lie to you. As soon as we hear anything concrete we will let you know.}

That's good enough for me Ed016 cheer's mate....

Ed 016 mate if you wont lie how will you ever get a job with the national media? {Ed016's Note - Why would I want to work for the "National" Media. All owned by the same group of people who care nothing about reporting on the truth. Will twist the truth to suit their likings and care nothing about the impacts. Wake up. If you work for them, you work for evil}
