Decent shout to be fair. I'd maybe switch Baines for digne though or else chilwell then swap vardy for richarlison.

See we are linked to Dybala again. Can't say I've seen that much of him to be honest would he actually fit in with our play?

I think he would mate I just can't see it happening and see it being recycled news, fingers crossed it's true though of course!

I must admit though I haven't seen him play this season but going on what I've previously seen I think he'd fit into this Liverpool team better than he fits into the Juve one.

Just watched a video on twitter of a referee in the Australian A League wearing a microphone, through which he can be heard on the TV so the fans can see how he comes to his decisions. Just looking for opinions here, who thinks this is a good idea? Would you like to see it introduced in England?

In my opinion it’s not the worst idea in the world! I think if the fans heard how referees come to their decisions, they might not be as critical of refs. Also, I think it could stop players crowding around the officials if they know they will be heard on TV.

Obviously, it’s a bit difficult because of the offensive language heard at the majority of games being broadcast on TV but I do think this is a very interesting idea!

What do you guys think?

I think if other sports can be mic’d up then there’s no reason why football shouldn’t be able to get to a stage where it can be done as well. It just needs someone with balls of steel to implement it and to see through with the punishments for bad language, be that in the crowd or on the field.

I can’t personally see a downside with being able to understand the thought process of why and how decisions are made so why not try?

19 Mar 2019 21:30:51
Thought the same watching the rugby over the weekend, sponsors aren't going to want there cashcows efing and jeffing in the refs face/ microphone, might make a difference.

However zero tolerance of disrespecting the ref or his decision's is the way rugby got to this point and video has helped them.

19 Mar 2019 22:56:36
I would think that's a great idea, I am sick of referees
not being held accountable for their decisions. It is their decisions which will decide whoever will win the league in my opinion.

20 Mar 2019 12:37:29
I think it’s a good idea, the only reason against it is the bahviour of the players on the pitch which quite frankly needs addressing anyway, and the post match behaviour of the fans to things they inevitably won’t like. If everyone could just behave like civilised adults it would be great, for me rugby benefits hugely by having it.

Reading the thread about legends and people's memories has reminded me of a great memory I'd like to share. For no other reason than to show what class people had in football.
Ok, a long time ago at Anfield, Liverpool played Burnley I think it was. I was sat in the Centinary Stand, close to the Kop. A Burnley player got injured in front of the Kop and on came their physio. A short, rotund man with a sizeable beer belly. He carried a large old school brown leather, top opening physio bag. He went about his business to a Kop chorus of "who ate all the pies". Unfazed he completed his job and started to walk back to the dug out in front of the Kop. The chorus continued and he suddenly stopped, bent down and opened his bag. He proceeded to pull out a pie the size of his face and began eating it. The Kop erupted in cheers and applause, seen usually for a winning goal. Both fans and physio alike showed moments of pure class (and banter lol)

{Ed025's Note - love that mate..

Did he have a sponsorship deal with the local bookies and pie shop?

The future is bright the future is red .

Regardless what happens this season the improvement in the team is huge and our I game management is the most improved thing this season . Believe guys we are a team on the up and their is no ceiling to our potential I truly believe that . Winning the league this season is very possible and if you had said that at beginning of the season I would of bit your hand off especially against the juggernaut that is Man City .

Spine of the team is their for years to come let's pack it out with some extra quality and the possibilities will be endless .

Well said Dhfc totally agree👍.

Or as I look at it we have peaked will win diddly squat. The owners will snap klopp gets the boot.
We get a new manager who says it will take 5 years to implement his plan. Said manager gets the boot after 4 years. But most importantly we still haven't won diddly squat and were struggling to make top 4.
That's what I see in my negative little bubble I call life xx.

I’d hate to be such a pessimist Walter. When did you smile last mate?

About 30 minutes ago when the big boss at work said what a positive attitude to my duties I have.

19 Mar 2019 11:01:10
Not liverpool related, just a bit of fun.

Who do you all believe to be the best player playing for a club outside the top 6 in the premier league?

Tough one for me, few possibilities but shows the drop off in quality from the top 6, there's Neves, Jimenez, Zaha, Wan Bissaka, Felipe Anderson.

Interested to hear your thoughts.

Very difficult one mate but on the spot without thinking much about it I'd say Wan Bissaka.

19 Mar 2019 13:46:14
Neves, i reckon. Maybe Callum Wilson.

19 Mar 2019 13:50:19
I reckon Doucoure and Pereira would be up there with the best.

19 Mar 2019 14:20:54
I like mouthino personally.

19 Mar 2019 17:33:34
Felipe Anderson would be up there, along with Chilwell and Neves.

19 Mar 2019 20:03:46
Mina

Well worth the money. 🤔.

19 Mar 2019 20:21:39
Declan Rice or James Maddison. I do rate Filipe Anderson, but find him a little inconsistent. I'd also say that David Brookes within a year or so will be in with a shout.

Not sure why but I’ve heard the ‘ghost goal’ by luis Garcia mentioned quite a few times of late and how it was lucky. I always held the belief that if it didn’t stand, it would have been a penalty for cech clattering into baros, and a probable red card. I remember screaming for a pen at the time over the goal. I think the fact that we’re ‘lucky’ for that is harsh.

Good post that MK-looking at it a bit deeper City could go into that palace game 4pts behind if we can win our next two games which would add more pressure! -all hypothetical at this stage of course-we go again!

In the run in- I seem to remember someone always manages to come unstuck in an away evening match.

Anyone know what date the tickets go on sale for Porto?
Also i expect they will sell out to season ticket and membership holders pretty fast so aside from the club site does anybody know a decent place to get 2 tickets without having my pants pulled down?

Serious question Reds. We've spoke for years about buying players that are good enough to go straight into the 1st 11, however, who in the market would make an immediate and substantial improvement to the 11 players below? I'm not saying the team can't be improved on, its just a comment on how difficult the market could be now. Is it more about strengthening the squad - 2 good players for each position?

Allison
TAA
VvD
Gomez
Robertson
Gini (or Ox)
Fabinho (or Milner)
Henderson (or Keita)
Bobby
Mane
Salah.

Kante would get into any midfield in the world, our midfielders are all good players, but many top teams have a midfielder or two who would get into our team. Gini, Hendo and Milly are industrious players, but we need more goals/ impetus from midfield to help break down stubborn teams. The Ox was good for that last season as his runs from midfield dragged defenders away and made space for the front 3.

Front 3 is literally Messi and Ronaldo, maybe Mbappe? So no one who would actually come and debatable if it would improve the dynamic we already have.

Defenders, VVD is the best in the world but there are players who are objectively better than the other 3, achievable targets for us? Not really any. It’s more about finding good quality rotation for TAA, Robbo and a better option at CB to rotate with Gomez.

Allison is a top, top keeper, but Migs is not going to stay any longer on our bench so I’d expect a back up to come in to replace him.

18 Mar 2019 20:39:59
TAA, Gomez, Gini, Henderson, Milner "can" be improved upon. The reason I put the "can" in inverted commas is that they would be so expensive to replace for only marginal improvements.

Also in the case of TAA and Gomez, it's purely down to their inexperience. They will improve if they stay in the first team squad. They won't if they don't.

18 Mar 2019 21:55:54
This is way too sensible, we need more superstars.
