Love Trent as a player and think he and gomez are definitely the future of the club
Two exceptionally talented young lads who appear to have a good head on their shoulders

In saying that though I don't think he is a full back at all
He's doing a great job but still I think his talents would be much better utilised further up the pitch

Don't get me wrong his injury is far from needed but maybe it's a blessing in disguise and will convince the powers that be to pursue signing or nurturing a " proper " fb

Know yas get asked a lot eds but is there any fbs that we have serious interest in and would sign if possible?

Any update on Rabiot please? Have read a few articles his Mum (agent) has had talks with Premier League Clubs like LFC and Chelsea. Thought he was off to Barca. Now PSG saying they would consider offers in January window?
thank you.

Wagner anyone?

15 Jan 2019 12:56:07
Good shout, but maybe a bit on the slow side so might not be the best option to solve our defensive injury crisis. ;)

15 Jan 2019 21:53:46
Good music though?

14 Jan 2019 19:09:01
Roll out the Wagner joining Klopps backroom staff rumours 😂.

Agree7 Disagree2

14 Jan 2019 21:14:15
As long as he stays in the back room.

{Ed025's Note - at least he will be composed.. :)

14 Jan 2019 21:26:10
On that note.

14 Jan 2019 21:27:55
You're right Ed. He'll know how to conduct himself.

{Ed025's Note - nice one razor...his advisors are trying to orchestrate a move i hear but the top brass wont allow it, too many strings attached i hear..

14 Jan 2019 22:15:38
And what do you bass these rumours on Ed? I think for him tuba in Klopps back room staff he needs to fiddle with his tactics and the way gets a tune from his players.
He likes to play a diamond but I think he’s better with a triangle. Personally I think he’s a bit of a pianist.

{Ed025's Note - thats music to my ears bobby..

14 Jan 2019 22:16:47
(This is getting painful now)

I wouldn't trust his advisors, they're probably just on the fiddle. Wagner is not one to blow his own trumpet, but since he's not been able to drum up much support, he won't cost too much. Going for a song, I'd say.

{Ed025's Note - i think your baching up the wrong tree razor...thats me done.. :)

14 Jan 2019 22:42:39
Damn, I’ve taken the beet hoven and hoven again.
Getting frustrated Ed 25, I’m not so composed, keep tripping over my Schu maaaann 😎.

14 Jan 2019 22:44:56
Good effort lads! 😂.

{Ed025's Note - it was good bobby, but razor was top of the liszt..

14 Jan 2019 23:31:37
Yes mate he was the Bizet’s knees. I Verdi loves his classical music ;-)

14 Jan 2019 23:44:15
Best leave things as they are. No point Chopin and changing, eh.

15 Jan 2019 21:48:07
1st Class lads! Enjoyed that 👏.

14 Jan 2019 16:53:59
Ed01 - If you are about, what's your take on Man City this season. are they being worked out more by other teams?

Do you see them as per Pep's way of playing, the players getting fatigue and burn out later in the season and dropping points as a result. or do they have squad depth to cope?

The other question I have which you may have answered already. Klopps way of playing has changed this season to the benefit of the team. Was this part of the reason for Buvac leaving with Klopp looking to change? Is it Klopp that has made these tweaks based on a more solid foundation/ defence? Or has he took advice elsewhere (e. g Linders)?

{Ed001's Note - Man City are just following the pattern of Pep's teams, start like a train and then fade in mid-season. They usually end up dropping out of Europe and then picking up their form again in the second half of the season.

It is simple though, players get fed up of being micro-managed after a while and so they stop being as responsive to his methods as they were initially. They have good enough players to still challenge at the top regardless, but they do need to start changing the playing staff to freshen things up.

Buvac wanted to stay with the old style and was annoyed that his input was becoming less important. Klopp is listening to other, more pragmatic views and the evidence suggests it was the right thing to do.}

14 Jan 2019 18:18:02
True that actually Ed1, I'm quite happy now that Buvac did leave! because we've done much better since. Thank god Klopp knew what he was doing because I was quite concerned at the time but it's worked out well. City however seem somewhat scared of changing things about. It'll come back to bite them in the arse at one point imo.

{Ed001's Note - Pep won't change.}

14 Jan 2019 18:21:25
Thankfully City have him Ed mate because I don't rate him one iota and never have done.

{Ed001's Note - he is overrated. Far from the messiah he is made out to be.}

14 Jan 2019 19:17:04
Indeed, he’s no Ilori 😇.

15 Jan 2019 00:23:34
Ed001, do you think their blip is over? Beating us seemed to have given them a second wind and they have won 3 on the bounce convincingly now (albeit against weak opposition and a 10-man Wolves) . My own suspicion is they will struggle again in Feb/ Mar as the CL returns and The cup competitions intensify.

Also, they seemed a more emotional side than us? When they are on a high they can go and beat teams for free but when they arent, they tend to struggle in patches over games. Whereas I think we are a much more composed side though we’ll have to see how the team copes comes Mar/ Apr when the stress intensifies.

{Ed001's Note - it is difficult to tell but no, I don't think they are quite back at it. I did fall asleep in the middle of the game last night but they were labouring badly rather than free flowing.}

14 Jan 2019 14:45:59
Right, you lot. We are on the way to The Etihad. We will try and help you out by taking at least a point back to The Golden Palace. If you want to be champions, just make sure you are more than three points ahead by the last game of the season as we would like to celebrate our impending FA Cup final appearance with another victory in front of a full house at Anfield.

Good luck tonight enjoy the evening and have a safe journey.

Anfield is a fortress and nothing that you have experienced before will have prepared you for what you will get when you arrive at our final EPL game this season. Make sure you take it all in.

14 Jan 2019 18:19:37
For gods sake do them mate, please! I said months ago we'd win the league before the last 3 games of the season, help me out here mate! you need to win lol! have a good night :) .

14 Jan 2019 20:47:30
Red card and a penalty, pfft.
Back to four points.

{Ed025's Note - its a conspiracy i tell ya..

14 Jan 2019 14:43:57
We are a sell to buy club that's fact, any big spending happened after a big sale every time since 2010.

Jurgen's net spend is (after the solanke sale) £5 million more per window than pottchotino at spurs and he hasn't had any money to compete the media suggest so why do you all think this will change all of a sudden? It won't, so your set to be disappointed.

Agree0 Disagree10

14 Jan 2019 15:18:01
I do find this very difficult to believe. Any chance you could supply figures for this to back it up?

14 Jan 2019 16:36:45
Cant blame the club for selling couts waro he desperately wanted out and made his position untenable at the club.

14 Jan 2019 17:13:15
Waro - the owners took over the club that was in financial trouble and well down the league table. We were a long way off qualifying for the champions league and we were becoming a bit of a laughing stock. The owners did back Kenny and Rogers with a certain amount of money but a lot was wasted.

When we sold Suarez that money was also mainly wasted so the owners took a step back. Once Klopp had proved his signings were of the required level the owners moved all in and as far as I am concerned we have spent massive money in the past 12 months. I estimate we have spent £260m in just 12 months. For any club that is massive investment and as we were out of the champions league for 10 years the club was a long way behind our rivals in terms of income. A big percentage of the £260m has had to be borrowed.

We are doing great on the pitch so I am sure the increased revenue will be forthcoming. I would think in the summer we won't though have large funds to spend and I fully agree and accept this. I expect us to win the league and go deep in the CL so future income will rise more than any other club in the world. When we win the how how can you keep complaining?

14 Jan 2019 17:18:59
Well by all accounts and given the strength of our current team, it’s not working out too badly.

Our owners will continue to be our owners and we may see some success during their tenure (in spite of them of course Waro)

So set yourself for some disappointment.

14 Jan 2019 19:18:16
The numbers don’t bother me, I don’t see it holding us back 🤝.

{Ed002's Note - most of this is nonsense and entirely untrue based on a complete lack of knowledge of the financial workings of the club.}

14 Jan 2019 20:54:35
Klopps net transfer spend over the last 6 windows (so effectively since he arrived because his first Jan window he didn't buy anyone) is (after the sale of solanke) £82 million before that sale it was £101 million. Pottch net spend is £64 million so its actually £3 million a window more so I have done klopp a disservice there.

Now I'm not bothered about agent fees hiring the pickford van to move a player to his house or what we pay there dog walker for them, purely on transfer fees. I was making the point about people wanting to add top draw talent with big fees to the squad when history shows we don't do that plus also what a job klopp has done.

14 Jan 2019 22:02:49
So what’s your point Waro? Is this another dig at the owners because they won’t spend money we don’t have?
I have no doubt that if we hadn’t got the money we got for Coutinho we probably wouldn’t have sign Alisson, Keita, VVD and Shaq in the space of 6 months.

Do I care? Not one little bit!

We are top of the league and looking a real force, who cares how we got there?

Just enjoy it and stop trying to justify your very skewed view of the way things are.

14 Jan 2019 22:44:32
Can you explain Bobby, why my views are skewed? Also shaq, you imply I don't want us to win anything? I pay over £800 for my season ticket so why would I want us to fail, counter argue what I post by all means but don't think for one minute I don't want us to win trophys. You support these owners all you want, but my original post was we won't add to the current squad with huge signings, they will only happen when Salah leaves.

15 Jan 2019 00:21:59
Just because you don’t care about agent fees, wages, dog walking etc, doesn’t make them irrelevant. The owners have backed Klopp to the hilt with money from player sales and more. Why can we not have anymore huge signings? Does a huge signing automatically require a large transfer fee?

15 Jan 2019 19:42:17
Every window since these owners took over we've sold one massive player to fund that seasons transfers, it's fact I've watched it. I'm not passing off someone else's opinion as fact, the figures are there for transfer fees, as It stands since klopp took over we are the fifth biggest spenders and since 2010 we are the fifth biggest spenders, your all happy with failure that's fine, I'm not and I'm also not passing off lies as truth. Markp08, you say Kenny and brendan rodgers wasted a lot of money, who employed them? No matter which way you turn it comes back to the owners, you all think they've done brilliantly I don't and trophys in the cabinet prove I'm correct, it really is that simple.

15 Jan 2019 20:01:40
You’re an absolute riot Waro. “I don’t care about all the other costs which should be included in net spend calculations because they completely disprove my point”

I love it when people laud how much they spend on their season ticket like it entitled them to more of an opinion. I’ve been on that waiting list for 14 years and in the meantime comfortably match your yearly spend across Sky and BT to have the opportunity to watch as many games as I can.

You were also ranting about the timing of an article in the echo a couple of weeks away which was derisive and aimed at pulling fans apart.

Tell me how your rants whilst we’re on top are conducive to uniting our fan base?

15 Jan 2019 23:57:59
So what other costings can you factor in to disprove my point that Liverpool have paid but no other football club has paid, they all pay agent fees they all pay for xy and z with regard to getting a transfer done. If you can tell me what it is we pay for when negotiating a transfer that no other club pays for then I stand corrected and you will be right, we will of paid far more for transfers than anyone else, explain it like I'm a four year old because I can't think of what it is you are talking about. Oh and if your paying over £800 a year for sky sports and bt sports then someone at those two suppliers has ripped you off, I had a phone call from sky last week offering me all sports channels for £16 per month, or are you paying agent fees and these imaginary costs Liverpool are apparently paying yourself when you negotiated your packages.

16 Jan 2019 07:26:19
Ooh burn Waro, you’ve hit me where it hurts with your sky rebuttal mate.

I don’t have access to all the fees we pay but ed2 does. You’ve openly admitted you have no idea what the additional add ins are. In addition to that, we were/ are in debt when the owners took over, expanding the stadium is no cheap deal either.

You don’t have all the information and ed2, a man I’m the know has already called you on it. But you will continue to hate the owners.

16 Jan 2019 09:59:46
Yes, he has far more knowledge about finance than I do, I would just like to know what these extras that only Liverpool are paying when it comes to transfer fees? No other club in the country are paying these fees so I can now totally ignore our net spend, i really do think it's unfair if Liverpool are subject to paying more for transfers in other fees than every other club in the league.

16 Jan 2019 10:15:48
Does it honestly matter if we have sold a big player and reinvested the money?

Of all the big players to leave which one of them wanted to stay?

Right now it appears that Klopp is getting the players he wants. It doesn't matter if its an 8 million left back or a 65 million goal keeper. Its the player he wants.

16 Jan 2019 12:15:18
Hi Waro,

It’s my understanding that from what ed2 says, we have made some poor decisions and paid ridiculous agent fees and other daft clauses that we’re still paying for from the Rodgers era.

I just don’t think the owners are as self interested as you profess, that’s all.

Whether or not the 400odd mil (without other expenses) we’ve spent in the last 6 windows has been largely subsidised by big sales. It’s still been fully reinvested into the club and ultimately seen us progress a long way up the table and begin to compete.

Alright we haven’t won titles yet but we’ve been in:

FA cup final I think under Kenny
Carabao final under Rodgers
Carabao final under Klopp
Europa league final under Klopp
Champions league final under Klopp

The owners can’t be held responsible for our lack of wins in finals surely?

14 Jan 2019 08:48:23
Good morning all, does anybody know how far down the line young Brewster is with his recovery? Will he be ready for preseason?
Thanks and have a good day.

Good question actually mate, I'm hoping to see more of him come preseason/ next season but something is telling me we won't? But what do I know, not a lot so fingers crossed for the lad.

Ohk may seem like MOTD fever, to replenish MidField come summer shall we go for Deccan Rice and David Brooks to replace Miller and Lallana, I assume they would qualify as HomeGrown.

I like the look of Fraser from Bournemouth

Strikes me as someone who could play across the 3 behind a number nine.

He did come through a bit last season but is producing on a more regular basis this time around.
