Palace will do well this season. Very hard to beat

Got to say Alisson is quality! Distribution is spot on, commanding in his area, assured with his feet and catching. Thinking I might be starting to trust again in a goal keeper.

Last season Klopp rotated the keepers for cup games. With Ward playing the league cup and Karius in the CL and Fa cup until he replaced Mignolet full time. I really hope that isn’t the plan this season as this is probably the strongest LFC squad to have never currently won a trophy. As much as I think we can challenge for the league this season to over throw City will be a mighty task. For me starting Mig (with Karius looking likely to leave) in cup games over Allison will weaken us in our bid to land our first trophy under Klopp. After all that first trophy sets the benchmark and could hopefully result in the floodgates opening.

Personally I wouldn't mind him doing it in the League Cup - whilst I would love to win any trophy, it definitely of a lesser importance to me and keeping our second goalie active might be a good thing. But definitely not the FA cup.

Fabinho not even on the bench today. I hadn't heard that he'd picked up a knock or anything. Just Ed002 saying that he's been struggling to deal with what's being asked of him in training. Anyone else know anything about the situation?

I’m sure it’s just like Robbo. Klopp has a very clear style and a very strong team of midfielders ready to play already so why not give Fabinho the time to get 100% familiar with things before easing him in? I’m sure he will be a key players for us later in season.

Of all the signings, Fabinho was the one who struggled to get with it tactically in pre season and by the end of it still definitely didn't look like he was comfortable with what he was meant to do with the ball. He'll be a regular soon but like Robertson, some players take some adjusting.

Evening all, just while we all wait in anticipation for kick off, I was hoping to get some advice.

Seeing that I live a fair distance from the gates of the Promised Land, Anfield, it is very difficult to get signatures from players ;)

So both my boys are fast becoming ardent Reds fans and I was hoping to try and get signatures (Just their favourite player) for each of them. Is there a way to approach the club or the players reps or them directly to make such a request?

I realise that they probably get millions of such requests. but if you want to win the lottery you have buy the ticket.

Any advice?

After the game you can wait by the players’ the car park behind the new main stand. Stewards stop you from waiting IN the car park but when you see the player you want to meet you are allowed to walk through the car park. If you time it correctly you’ll catch the player before he gets to his car. Depending on his mood he may or may not acknowledge you.

We met coutinho this way. He was all set to ignore us until my little nephew asked for a picture. Coutinho being a top bloke obliged but I suspect only cos the kid asked.

Thanks Stoneage, only problem is I am a long way from Liverpool. way too far South (Africa) .

Was looking for a long distance approach via email, letter, homing pigeon. or whatever works best.

Wow have a feeling we aren't going to get within 10 points of City in the Prem!
Lets hope we can do well in the CL or Cups this year!

Why. cos they beat Huddersfield. get a grip.

20 Aug 2018 10:27:59
Could be worse could be negative and think 23 points between the clubs.

20 Aug 2018 11:50:41
They are only two games in and have beaten an Arsenal side who played in to their hands and a Hudds team who will struggle this year.

If teams have a go at city this year then there will be a title race as they will drop points, if teams just give up before they start against city (similar to last year), city will win the league at a canter again.

20 Aug 2018 16:37:05
Oh, is the league only 2 matches long this season?

I read that Potty Chino thinks that Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea have an advantage over spurs because of the World Cup. As they say to losers "get your excuse in early". He might have eased the situation a little if he had done what normal managers do and brought his squad up to strength. his arrogance made him believe that he didn't need to. By the way, this 'new' celebration by Ali is older than I am!

Well he’s. It wrong is he. Half their team are English French and Belgian.

I don’t understand the number of posts on here recently talking about other clubs and what they’re saying about us. Who gives a sh@t?

Spurs lack of signings has nothing to do with Poch’s arrogance and everything to do with how much that stadium has hit them financially.

20 Aug 2018 07:13:09
87red, I agree with your second point. Personally, I just ignore posts about other clubs and focus on our club. I can go to the other pages on here if I want to read about other clubs. But that's easy or me because unfortunately, I don't get to see many games not involving Liverpool.

Very fitting response by Klopp when asked about the impact of De Bruyne's injury on ManC's season. And he is absolutely right. Quite a few posters on here have wondered about the same thing, and I suggest they have a look at it.

Salah, all you need to do is log out in the top corner and sign back in as aoe. Can imagine its nightmare switching between two accounts though!

17 Aug 2018 12:32:54
I think we'd all love to sign Fekir. I know I would. The thing is Klopp probably needs more time to see where Keita's best position is. Maybe Keita will be the Coutinho replacement. Keita can play deeper but Klopp may want him in a position where he is more involved in the attack. The two of them could play together but we should probably off load Llana before signing Fekir. Not saying I know that much but food for thought.
