Can I just point out that Henderson has more assists than Hazard and Aguero, the same amount as Gerrard (without set pieces), Navas and Ramsey, and only one less than Ozil. if he can work on his finishing at the end of those driving runs and bursts into the box, he is made for the attacking midfield position. He has 3 assists this season from fancy flicks as well so its not like he lacks flair. He is vastly under rated and it is for that reason I'd leave Coutinho left wing and put Hendo behind the front 3. When Enrique is back Coutinho will have more joy down that flank anyway as Enrique supports him a lot and they have a good chemistry. We just need a couple of midfielders to play with Hendo long term. Allen can be one of them, but he is still young and struggles with injuries. We need another metronome in midfield though to offer competition if nothing else. Gerrard is an attacking midfielder and should compete with Hendo. I would therefore like an experienced player to come in for the meantime. Lazios Hernanes is a great option, but I doubt he'd be available in our price range. We also need an underatudy for Lucas. I haven't seen Romelo play since the Olympics but he looked good then to be fair. He's apparently really struggled with injury though. Valon Berisha is by all accounts a good player but I have to be honest I have never seen him play. Jordan Rossiter is probably just as ready as either of them in my opinion so perhaps going all in for Hernanes and giving Rossiter a chance should be explored until Lucas is back. For me though our midfield is the biggest issue. If we could sign Hernanes our team would be:

That is a very strong team. I don't think we need to spend big this winter though. One Midfielder who can add goals/assists and retain possession and give Rossiter a chance whilst Lucas is injured. Sterling and Coutinho should fight for that last place in the front 3 alongside SAS. The problem I have with Coutinho playing centrally is that you then need two players holding due to his lack of defensive awareness. Hendo and Hernanes are more capable of going from box to box. Don't think for one second I'm suggesting Hernanes is likely by the way. I have no idea if we are even interested but a player of his ilk (Rakitic etc) is what we need in my opinion. Gerrard has great set piece delivery, but offers little to nothing from open play besides his raking passes when playing deep. Give him 30-45 minutes attacking though, and all of a sudden we have a game changer on our bench. If Rossiter is deemed not ready, I think De Jong would be a smart move. He'd be quite cheap and he has the experience of winning the title.
Don't lose sleep over Salah, Tello, Yarmolenko etc. They are not the main priority If you ask me. Our front 3 has not struggled for goals this season with Dan, Luis, PipCo and Raheem scoring about 40 between them. Its the midfield that needs more goals in it.

Rossiter is not ready yet if he is put into the team it could set him back what about trying Kelly there
