Hello Ed(s)

Close friend of mine seems adamant Soldado is on Rodger's radar, reckons its coming from a good source, and he isn't at Euro's. Although Ive heard nothing on the matter from whom I get my usual info from, can you see anything happening with him?

RedHawk

Not as long as we have carroll and suarez. if one goes then i think he should be main target but for now i am happier with a cheaper and younger understudy. i like ramirez as he can play as a winger, attacking midfielder or as a striker. is he acttually bound for city eds ?

09 Jun 2012 23:14:50
sly new:
"Gylfi's agent hasn't told me anything about what's happening. For whatever reason they have decided to draw out the process and we will probably find out a lot more about what Gylfi's decisions are over the next few weeks." - Huw Jenkins

09 Jun 2012 23:12:16
Affelay looked lively today. I am not stating we should sign him based on his game today, as he has already been linked with us. But he did look sharp today against the Danes. Not as technical as Robben, but they are comparable.

09 Jun 2012 23:01:46
Ed, is there any interest in Pilar from Liverpool? He looked like a decent winger for the Czech Republic and is only young. He could be perfect for us.

09 Jun 2012 23:05:31
eds do we have any intrest in any particular players that you know of? also do you think we will sign a left back?

thanks and please answer zzz {Ed002's Note - Please keep up with the posts.}

09 Jun 2012 23:03:29
Alan Dzagoev had an amazing start to the tournament, I know its a bit early to say he will be a breakthrough player this tournament but who is interested and how mch would he cost? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

09 Jun 2012 22:58:59
Are we really gonna ask about the chances of players coming to us each during the Euros simply because they're playing that particular day?? If so its gonna get very boring on here over the next coupla weeks!

09 Jun 2012 22:57:23
Hi eds, I know this isn't entirely about a transfer but do you know roughly how big Brendan Rodger's spending budget is this year?

09 Jun 2012 22:40:09
Hi Eds, I no the Euros are on and transfers are minimal when tournaments are on but when do you think BR will start making signings. {Ed022's Note - One day soon.}

09 Jun 2012 22:38:34
beware signing players who have a good tournament, we have had our fingers burnt before:

diouf, babb, diao

And I forgot to mention Torben Piechnik

Torben's my favourite flop (next to Istvan Kozma)

Cuchulainn's Hounds

Yes but we had a great song for Piechnik!

Ozone

So we should sign players who have had a bad tournament?

Zero

Torben Piechnik.....Ouch that hurt!!

Milan Baros and the incredible Igor Biscan!

Dont ever dis igor or baros. if it werent for igor then we'd never have escaped the grouo. he also played everywhere for liverpool and loved the club. baros was also good he was just injury prone if i remember

09 Jun 2012 22:01:13
Hey eds,
Do you think that if Luuk De Jong signed he would solve our goalscoring problems and he would start up front with Suarez?
Thanks,
Josh {Ed022's Note - I'd say he'd certainly help our cause yes, as he is a good finisher and is a versatile player who can both create and score goals.}

09 Jun 2012 21:51:24
So ed, you think we will sign sigurdsson, de Jong and boudebouz? {Ed022's Note - Search function.}

09 Jun 2012 21:45:40
Huw Jenkins does not know what happening with sigurdsson. What you think Eds and lads you think he will sign {Ed022's Note - Search function mate.}

09 Jun 2012 21:42:40
Dear Eds why are the london clubs a deathbed for careers tottenham destroyed the career of dos santos and pavleyochenko and kevin prince boateng only flourished after he left. chelsea have wasted lukaku and parker and arsenal have wreaked park and chamakh all these palyers a rrive with hufe reputations and just disapear. Why? {Ed022's Note - I think you're being a tad narrow minded. I would agree that Chelsea aren't the best club of nurturing talent, but as for Arsenal (the Ox) and Spurs (Walker) instantly come to mind.}

Aquilani paletta keane babel cisse ngog

Aquilani hardly played for us so we could not have affected his wonderful career.
hibsylfc

Nearly all of benitez' signings. besides lukaku is as the eds say a muppet. he didn't seriously expect first team football. he moved for the money and can take his oil along with his huge pay check. {Ed002's Note - Lukaku is an 18 year old kid who is not ready for the first team .}

Harry Kewell, Andy Carroll, Dirk Kuyt, Fernando Morientes, Karl Heinz Reidle.....a forwards graveyard! Hoping AC proves us wrong this year!

09 Jun 2012 21:40:38
my mate was in the boot room cafe with his family today and said a johnson was on a table next to him with two other men i asked him if he asked him if he was signing he said he didnt bother him i well would have asked does anyone know if he is a liverpool supporter and might have been having a stadium tour cant see why he would be so open about it more so as the owners like to keep it quiet thoughts and answers anyone thanks mooresy

God how cheap must our owners be if they're buttering up new signings in the club's own restaurant!

Red Ollie {Ed016's Note - Yeah, disgraceful. Redknapp takes them to a chippy though. I think there are higher end restaurants in Liverpool that they would prefer to dine at. My Nan did catch Kenny and JWH having dinner in the same restaurant on her birthday last year, but wouldn't let my cousin go over to talk to them. Same woman who once shared a train with Bill Shankly on her way to Scotland once, said he had a certain presence about him but was too intimidated to talk to him.}

09 Jun 2012 21:36:49
Thank god we didn't go for Podolski I've watched him quite a few times in the german league and he always looked ok but tonight at the highest level he looks second rate he may get a goal or two against Wigan or west ham but against the mighty reds agger would play him off the pitch

Red End

Arsenal can have him

09 Jun 2012 21:25:04
Hey all, eds would you say that we have a chance in signing all of the following: luuk de Jong, Adam Johnson, affelay, diame and a cover for left back. I believe this alongside the return of Joe cole and aqua would prove a very decent squad {Ed022's Note - Use the search function mate.}

09 Jun 2012 21:25:03
A question for all the ED's.
Do they see all the spanish club's have serious financial problems, due to there bank's being in serious trouble? If most of there clubs do get in trouble i can see a feeding frenzy happening. Si {Ed022's Note - To say 'ALL' spanish clubs will be in trouble is a tad much, but certainly most clubs will face some adversity. However, this will not be a massive issue as of yet, so do not worry about it.}

09 Jun 2012 21:20:58
Dear ED(s) what are your opinions on nelson olivera and yannick djalo. Are they any good and what are the chances of either coming to liverpool {Ed022's Note - I'm not interested in Euro 2012 fever.}

09 Jun 2012 22:14:04
Whats happened to young Danny Wilson? Still in LFC future plans? Wilson/Coates?

Lee73

I'd take coates all day

Think Danny Wilson will be moved on this summer!

Wilson was supposed to turn out to be a Coates but didn't so that's why they bought Coates if you get me.

Time for Wilson to get his coat?

09 Jun 2012 21:58:29
Why not get in Sinclair and Allen from Swansea because Gylfi Sigurdsson looks set to come to lfc. Maybe Affeley from Barcelona

Sinclair is overrated and poor. allen is a good player but if gylfie and diame arrive then there is no point in signing him. besides there is a 12 month agreement/ between the clubs

Allen and Siclaire are poor and overrated glad theres a contract agreement.

09 Jun 2012 21:17:39
I wouldn't be to bothered if we did sell johnson, because next season we could possibly try playing a different system especially at home where teams will just sit, and bore you too death. I would try 3 at the back say Kelly/Coates-Skrtel-Agger, then Lucas in front. Then a 3 of Sigurddson-Gerrard-Henderson. Then Suarez behind 2 strikers of Carrol and hopefully Soldado. You would have Carrol out muscling the defenders and creating space for the midfielders and forwards. If that didn't pay off u make sure there is sheer pace to come on off the bench, say sterling and maybe boudebouz.
Si

Sounds good..

You will have to make sure we average 4 goals a game because we will concede 3 with that formation

We have no width with that formation

09 Jun 2012 20:53:19
I wonder how many people will be getting divorced by time the euros is over?
Just realised I have not spoken to my girlfriend in 2 days and she's a mere 3 feet away.

MIKEY

Leaving me for speaking like Yoda, my wife is!

09 Jun 2012 20:48:55
am i the only person who will be delighted to see the bak of the most expensive most over rated an worst RB LIVERPOOL HAVE EVER HAD GLEN JOHNSON! hes payed 110000 quid a week an he cant defend to save his life! yes he may score the odd goal but every winger is delighted to play against him coz hes useless at marking or tackling them! id hate to see the stats on goals wev conceded because hes bin out of position or hes been beaten easily again! first an foremost hes a defender that hasnt a clue how to defend so get rid now! and as for shelvey please please please will you stop with this HES A FUTURE LIVERPOOL MIDFIELD REGULAR! he wouldnt make the local pub team hes dreadfull! My gran has more skill than hel ever have!!

We need to keep up the tradition
Kronkamp
Josemi.....

Let's sign your gran up then...

Can you ask your gran to give BR a call?

Hoola

Thats so harse and ridiculous. your writing off a 20 year old and your criticizing the rb who formed the 3rd best defensive partnership in the league. just go back to bed and take your medication son.

Who does your Gran play for?

How much a week sign. Dont forget her age may count against her

There are much worse players in our squad to be slating rather than Johnson and Shelvey. But having said that, you probably think Downing and Adam are really good players!

To be honest I remember when Johnson signed saying 'we need a full back not a winger' now we need both !
Puzzled

Johnson wouldn't look out of place in Barca's team he's that skillful. You obviously have never played the game at any level. There's no substitute for skill!!
kidmillions

09 Jun 2012 19:55:52
Why after every game (so far) do we have players being linked with us. Get a life and start being in the real world, BR will have his players earmarked already. {Ed002's Note - They are not being "linked". They are being asked about by hopeful fans and no doubt it will be someone else later.}

Stop being such a miserable sod and lighten up a little. It's bound to happen isn't it? And after all it's all just a bit of fun.

Zero

09 Jun 2012 19:54:50
no point askin how much rodgers will be given to spend on players he could be given "x" amount but its how he spends it that matters. for instance if hes given more than expected and shows interest in llorente that'd be around 30m good player but think of it this way why spend most of the money on one or two players when we could have 3 0r 4 good players for the value of one!

kevin mixer

no point point getin 3 r 4 average players wen we can get 2 world class stars....

mags

Because we have a squad of those types of players. To push forward we need to be purchasing players of Suarez calibre, and unfortunately they cost 20m+. I hope and expect to see one player of this calibre, sigurdson and one more 10m player. And then hope the likes of Carroll, Henderson become the player we all hope they will become.

If it was me:
Sigardson
I think we should sign Munian and susaeta as I'm sure this will probably help persuade them join plus our wing problems will be sorted for years to come
Diame it allows spearing to be sold and I really rate him as he offers something we don't have
Lukk de Jong although I think he is slightly over rated at his age he has amazing potential

09 Jun 2012 19:40:14
I'm interested to know if anyone knows if Rodgers likes to play fringe players in the reserves?
I never understood why Kenny would keep players on the bench and not play them in the reserves to keep them match fit!

I'm hoping that players like Coates, Shelvey if they aren't going to start games they play res games to keep sharp!

Thoughts on Rodgers preference?

YNWA jns

Ego's JNS. Big wages and ego's. Reserve sides are for the kids now.

DaveyBootle

I guess it depends on what he and Rodolfo decide, but you would hope some of the younger guys not getting 1st team games would get game time in the reserves.

RedSG

Kenny did do that.

09 Jun 2012 19:34:02
Please everyone stop judging players after one game, and hoping there is interest based on the one performance! These euros must be a nightmare for the eds! Roblfc86 {Ed022's Note - They already are.}

Exactly. You won't find an undiscovered gem playing in the Euro's, all the players look knackered. I can see us buying players who are not involved in this tournament. or players who are there but don't manage to get a game.

Just like bernard diomede................

Based on what I have seen of Euros so far, the players, far from being in some kind of a "shop window", look like they would rather be on vacation.

Only Russia look like they want to play.

Football all-year-round is going to ruin the sport, just as it is ruining cricket.

09 Jun 2012 19:24:23
I would like to know where these info come from. It seems to me that all our defenders and goal keeper will leave the club. Also are speculations about Suarez.A lot of people are sudjesting to get rid of Maxi, Adam Downing, Spearing, Henderson, etc. It looks that LFC will be left with Stevie and Bellamy.

09 Jun 2012 19:11:12
Hello Eds,
just wondering if BR or any others watch players during some of the games at Euro Champs? {Ed022's Note - Well yes.}

What a stupid question

09 Jun 2012 19:29:28
Why all this sudden interest in Kjaer? I thought he was very average today. Distribution was poor from the back and not the quickest. He let Van Persie and Huntelaar in behind on a few occasions. They just didn't convert.

09 Jun 2012 19:17:38
Be interesting to see if the Spanish Banks want their
350 million off Barcelona

Never mind Barca mate, La Liga's clubs as a whole owe around 3.5 billion Euros. And half of them are in negative equity (debts more than assets / revenue).
The Real KB

So does this mean the likes of Munian, Llorente, Soldado and Martinez could be sold cheaper than what their clubs value them at?

Ed can you clarify? Also has Marco Bueno yet signed for us?

Jonesred {Ed022's Note - I cannot clarify.}

This is a good point; obviously its pointless to speculate to actual things that happen (so I will ;o) ); however it could see changes in Tax in Spain - its been well documented that Footballers etc get Tax Breaks in Spain; so with the upper tax rate going down in the UK - the Spanish in debt could see some good talent coming to our shores :o)

Hoola

30% tax for high earners in Spain!!
That could well change

The Spanish financial crisis will affect La Liga - and football in general - in a big way. No question.

No business can continue indefinitely the way European professional football does.

I predict big changes such as salary caps will rear their head in the very near future. {Ed016's Note - Bad economic times ahead.}

09 Jun 2012 19:17:16
Hearing we are linked to Nicklas Bendtner on other Liverpool forum,s .....please please say its not true and hopefully stays a rumour.......

Great point. Spanish enconomy in tatters but Barca and Real will still spend fortunes regardless. Wish football was on an even playing field. Only the richest win, bit like life itself!

That has lots to do with bendtners links to us

Really don't want him (Bendtner) at Anfield! He is below average!

09 Jun 2012 19:15:11
Just a bit of non LFC banter here-Is Arjen Robben the most predictable player in world football or what?!

How is that banter?

It is embarrasing how one-sided he is .

EdWood

09 Jun 2012 19:00:47
Have Liverpool shown any interest in the amazing danish CB Daniel Agger wow what a performance glad I have him in my dream team he was an absolute rock and believe him as a partner for Skrtel would be perfect I do hope we get him.

Kopping a feel

Reckon you're getting a bit of MOTD fever here mate......

Redjinal

He is a Liverpool player....

09 Jun 2012 18:56:58
Absolute rubbish game! If it weren't for our guys in the game I would have tuned out at minute 60. Robben was shocking, selfish and stubborn display on his part. Bendtner did not run at full speed once in 93 minutes. And Simon Poulsen makes all Liverpool fans realise that things could have been even much worse. Congrats to Dan Agger, but the Dutch might have lost it after one game already.

Canadian Fan

Simon Poulsen wasn't our player, mate...

Christian was. I didn't see him on the pitch today.

McSnuggles

"And Simon Poulsen makes all Liverpool fans realise that things could have been even much worse"?????

Just when you thought one Poulsen (Christian) was bad, you find out there's another one (Simon) who is even worse. This is still the banter page, right? If you have to explain it, it means it was a rubbish joke. There, happy?

Canadian Fan

Happy, sure... It wasn't the greatest but just a few extra words and it would've made more sense!

McSnuggles

It made sense, but more importantly your right, holland were very poor and while Robben has talent but hogs that ball. He is one arrogant and possibly for me the only player that comes close to be as annoying as ronaldo! Haven't seen enough of Hazard but got feeling he will be up there too

gareth

09 Jun 2012 18:55:05
Just watched the Denmark Holland game and Kjaer and Krohn-Delhi were brilliant. Any Lfc interest in them? Also what's all the fuss about eriksen? I thought he was terrible.

Based on one game? Thank god you are not a scout!

One game does not prove whether there great or terrible and trust everyones opinion eriksen is gonna be something BIG

09 Jun 2012 18:48:56
Not watching the Euros, no interest in England,
taking the missus out instead to the cinema.
I think I'll be on the score sheet tonight though.

You should know England are not playing tonight then

09 Jun 2012 18:48:07
What haven't Liverpool made any signings all other teams seem to be doing deals for July looks like top 10 this season if we're lucky Rafasgaffer

We are apparently going to bid for ronaldo and xavi

The name "Rafasgaffer" suggests that you have no appreciation of good football or realism, how is rodgers supposed completed spending after 1 week ?

09 Jun 2012 18:31:30
Any news on interest in Agger from teams and whether he'd be interested in moving he's been a rock at the back in this game, and any interest in Kjaer recently I remember us being linked with him a few years back

09 Jun 2012 18:31:16
Agger having a great game, No doubt the big clubs will be looking to sign him this summer, He could be off.

I think every club in Europe would know who he & how good he is before to day.

U must be a blue nose

He's really come of age this year I think.
We have dalglish to thank for that.

MIKEY

Aggers success this season is down to a run of games and no serious injuries. He would shine under any manager. It's a similar situation to Van Persie, both players had previously shown their class yet could not sustain it for the full stretch. It's down to the consistency and run of games for both respective players in which fans and pundits appreciate and recognise their true talent.

DaveyBootle

Here's me thinking dalglish gave him that run of games at CB never mind.

MIKEY

And Rafa wouldn't have?

DaveyBootle

Can't see Danny Agger leaving LFC! he is a fan and he love's it here!

If you remember we bought Agger after England played Denmark and Rooney was hyped as this great player only for this young danish centre back to remove the flap over his pocket so Rooney could breathe...

Hoola

I hope a big club dosent come in for agger what are you on he plays for one of the largest clubs on the planet
obviously you are not a lfc supporter
oh my god a few years without champions league and some of you on here are comparing us to the likes of everton or spurs this is exactly what the press want and some of you believe it
paying high wages does not make a club big 5 european cups makes a big club

09 Jun 2012 18:41:09
Hi can anyone tell me why glen Johnson may be moving

His wages are too high. Highest paid right back in the league.
I personally think he's very lazy and lacks concentration at times.
We could get a better player in on less wages, or use Kelly who happens to be a better player on less wages.

MIKEY

Kelly is not at the level yet

Kelly is a better defender than Johnson is right now.
Not saying johnsons a bad player, just a bad defender.

MIKEY

I believe (based upon what the Ed's have said) is that he must play if fit; he must play RB and as already stated he is on v high wages.

Hoola {Ed022's Note - Correct, at least one person listens to us!}

09 Jun 2012 18:26:11
Don't know what all the fuss is about Christian Ericsson.affeley looks a real player though.also any interest in Simon kjaer if skrtel goes.REDMICK

He has been pretty anomomous today, but usually he's pretty special.

Denmark don't have the ball so he can't shine but take my word for it he is quality

He's better than affeley and does not have bad previous injury
gareth

09 Jun 2012 18:26:08
I think Liverpool are going to spend a fair amount this summer (or atleast they was going too too) just because Macca said we wanted Muniain who would not be cheap and Soldado and that Liverpool was also watching Suseata. The owners where willing to spend again with kenny surely they will spend a good amount again this summer. Just my opinion. Anyone disagree?

Square tomato

I am not getting my hopes up but I wouldn't be surprised if we did bring in muniain or soldado. Or a similar priced player. I doubt we have the funds for both though, unless we sell Suarez.
We need to bring in at least one really special player to do any catching up with the top 4.

MIKEY

09 Jun 2012 18:25:20
Eds,
I read someones post earlier today who stated that BR said Liverpool wouldn't have much money to spend.
Do you know if Brendan Rodgers has really said that or is it just nonsense from the media again?

Cheers

Phil F {Ed002's Note - I don't know what will be spent - but it won't be overly extravagent.}

Ed,
what would you describe as "extravagant"?
50 million? 100 million?
Personally I think 50 million would be ok and realistic.

Cheers

Phil F {Ed002's Note - Then the question would be gross or net?}

Did he not jokingly say there wasnt a wheelbarrow full of money? Wouldn't read too much into it anyway, he'll get money to spend, the owners aren't stupid.

50 million not Too extravagant!!
You've go to laugh?
Nearly 25% of the clubs turnover!

Banding around 50 Million like it's nothing
Are you 7 years old

Ok.
Assumed we take GROSS spent.
What would be "overly extravagant" in your opinion, ED?
50 million gross spent would be ok IMO.

Cheers

Phil F {Ed002's Note - Not if sales are taken in to consideration and Suarez leaves.}

It kind of puts things into perspective doesn't it, when one thinks of £50m (one player), representing 1/6 of a £300m stadium.
Player prices are absolutely nuts.
No wonder so many clubs are soo deep 'in the red'!.

They will not spend £50 million and nor should they unless they sell some of our better/more expensive players to free up sums. Otherwise £50 Million!! I do not want LFC to end up in the ruins like Man city and maybe chelsea will one day

gareth

09 Jun 2012 18:23:44
If you were an England Manager,
would you select Hendeson or Joey Barton
to be in the squad?

Joey Barton for me

Barton is the better footballer but he's a thug

Crazy to say it but Barton for me, Henderson is poison. james

Barton is a liability.
He is also a vile person and just being in the same room as him makes you want to throttle him. You can take my word for that. I have met dozens over the years and he is by far the worst.

MIKEY

Hendo every day of the week, at least he can get better, Barton isn't even a has been, he's a never was

Henderson would not get in the wales squad

Henderson is not welsh so I doubt he would get in the Wales squad, spot on mate.

MIKEY

He can't get in the Wales squad because he is English

09 Jun 2012 18:10:56
Just a thought for everyone screaming for 'marquee' signings:
If you look back at our signings over the last thirty years, we have never been afraid to spend big money for the right players - Peter Beardsley, Kenny Dalglish, john barnes, etc, but the Liverpool way has also included picking up players that are unproven or unsung players - Ian Rush (Chester), Graeme souness(Middlesbrough). Add in academy gems - GOD, etc and there you have the Liverpool way.

So it's perhaps time to stop getting so hung up on buying a ready made team a la chelski/man city and start trusting in BRs signings to be part of the new Liverpool way. Whoever they may be.....

BigBadBen

Okay so your idea is to but a load of young, 'promising' players wait for these players to possibly become great players and in the mean time fail to qualify for the champions league every year. i dont know about you but I want champions league football as soon as possible we really haven't got time for this, yes maybe a few should be gems yet to be discovered but we really need a few first team ready quality players.

Not sure where I said it would be a good idea to 'but a load of players'...
I simply pointed out that great LFC players have come from a variety of backgrounds/price tags...

Did you mean 'butt' a load of players? That's just asking for a fight...

BigBafBen

Sadly, there is no time for players to mature, its all about 'instant success'.
FSG have shown their intent, so BR has to 'get it right, immediately' or he will be gone!.
Tough world, huge expectations for you to meet MR Rodgers, 'sure hope you are up to it'!.

Getting quite fed up of my great club, apparently targeting mid table mediocre players! Diame, Dempsey, Moses, Sigurdsson, jarvis etc are all BIG FISH in SMALL PONDS like Adam and Carroll were (except Diame who didnt even stand out at wigan, he was mainly a sub). Whats also scary is that many Liverpool fans on here seem content with these players being are main targets, its like they've just taken on the mind set of mid table supporters. I for one, am aware of the quality players available outside the premier league and know that a numbe rof them are playing for worse clubs than us and aren't really being targeted by the other big teams. The likes of Honda, Affelay, Soldado, Mertens, Munian (maybe unrealistic) on the whole would be a available if we put in the right bid and none would break the bank (25m+). So please don't tell me to go and support Man City or whatever, because I just feel we are able to get much better players than we currently are targeting, and I dont want a repeat of last year (I thought we would have learnt from that). I know many will disagree with me and feel i'm being unrealistic or not a 'real supporter', but I know/hope there are some supporters out there that want the BEST for our club and want to get back into the champions league this season, and know that mid table prem players will not achieve that.

Jay

"Apparently" being the key word there mate.
Bendtner was linked today, just before he was due to play holland and prob get beat and look awful. A ploy by some manc or bitter to have a dig at the Liverpool fans?
It didn't exactly cone from a credible source.
If your still angry in September with our signings then have a moan but as it stands we have signed nobody, the club does everything in secret now and is the international transfer been open long? And are most of the players currently a bit busy?

MIKEY

Sorry spearing I know you don't want any new midfielders coming in because they will take your place but at the end of the day you are mediocre and it is you who should not be playing for Liverpool

Kind regards

Just because the media reports it doesn't make it true. besides have you watched diame enough to judge him. if you ask me he was the main cog in wigan's incredible league finish. sigurdson will play the exact same role at liverpool as the one he played at swansea so i doubt he'd be bad. do you have any idea what the wages would be of some of the players mentioned because it would take some pay to attract some of these boys to us. trust the owners. trust the scouts and stop yamming because that gets us no where and causes divisions.

You seem to forget we splashed big money on Carroll, Suarez, Downing and Henderson and finished 8th. Now we have to cut our cloth, cut the squad and hope our new manager can bring the best out of the players we have. No chance we'll be spending 50m or anything like until we're back in top 4. We've speculated already and failed to accumulate.

We need an arjen robben:)

We need Batman and Robin

He's choked on the big stage every single time he's been put on it..

McSnuggles

Everyone needs an arjen robben mate!

Will Liverpool be reaching a champions league final next year though?
He won't leave bayern, his wages are too high and there is always the chance pepe might "strangle" him again. Haha
Great player but we should be looking for someone younger and better value.

Hey Eds....Just wanted to ask any of you a question....Do you all work on other team's rumour sites, or are you all Liverpool supporters ?
I think i saw a post here last year from one of the Eds who was a Chelsea supporter ?
I was just wondering what teams the Eds supported

Thanks

ReDDaZ {Ed002's Note - Most of the Eds don't like soccer at all. They do it for the money. I am a Liverpool supporter but my Dad, Ed001, is a Northampton Town fan.}

Is it just because ye all have sources relating back to Liverpool that ye do our rumour site? {Ed002's Note - Everything we have comes from Facebook and Twitter.}

Like I said yesterday ED002, I am a little bit in love with you. Even though your a man, (and from the north west of England) When do I get to meet your Dad? ;)

BigBadBen {Ed002's Note - You should probably follow him on Twitter before introducing yourself.}

I'm off over to the Chelsea pages to see if Ed002 is as sarcastic with them as us.. Not complaining, just interested...

I still stand by Luuk De Jong (replacement for Kuyt), Sigurdsson (happy for him to replace Adam) and a replacement for Maxi. That position is we're we ideally spend some big money, so Muniain or another talented winger/playmaker, perhaps Gaston Ramirez.

The first two would cost around £20 million and the last anywhere from 15 - 25 million.

It's a fairly chunky outlay on three players, but I can definitely see better value than Downing and Henderson (both of which I rate, but had the overpriced England tag unfortunately).

De Jong can play on the right or up top, like Kuyt. Ramirez and Muniain can slot either side and play in a three with Suarez and AC or De Jong. Sigurdsson can boss the midfield and spearhead the three with Gerrard/Henderson and Lucas. Diame and Shelvey would provide good cover and Bellamy, Downing competition on the wings.

We'd still be left without a massive squad but the wage bill will hopefully stay similar, especially if Cole/Aquilani go. It still leaves room for Suso, Sterling, Silva and potentially others to develop and play in cup competitions, hopefully working towards the future without compromising the needs of now.

Papa G

Good post, I have my reservations about dejong. But would be happy to see him and 2 more of the aforementioned calibre join. And as u mentioned plenty of quality coming through the ranks that with too big squad just wouldn't get the same chances. CQ

If City bought A Johnson for 7 mil, why do people expect that we should pay circa 16 for an occasional bench-warmer?

Around £5M would be the logical start point for a player who has not shown any improvement, let alone a doubling of his worth.

Mpjd

Hi reds & eds as far as i remeber mpjd , when johnson joined city , wasnt there something like a doubling of there money if they were to sell johnson? maybe between 11 million ? 14 million is right . maybe eds can comment? steviep62

Wolves fan that comes in peace-got to say lads,if you want the best out of Carroll I think you need Jarvis.Gets to the bye-line,goes past fullbacks and gets quality crosses in.Dont want him to go but got to be realistic.........and he would be better value than Downing.

He'd turn out exactly like downing! We dont want him, we can do far better thanks

I do believe Real Madrid have signed him.

Thought his move to Real had gone through, perhaps Barca likes his bicycle kicks? Might hijack the deal.

Can I just say I retained Aquilana in my
FIFA 11 team and have been rewarded with a clean sweep of trophys. He is also not that fat on my screen and appears highly motivated. This in marked contrast to that lazy light weight Neymar who I bought in a panic after I took the hard choice and dumped Andy. I also signed Poldolski who is banging them in but this appears to have had a negative effect on Suarez who head has dropped
and is sulking. I will update you on progress , please do not start a rumours page on my possible January signings. However my source in the mirror has said that
Neymar is on his way out.

I let aqua go. On a free actually an bought Henry from wolves as a replacement. Worth it...

Hi eds,
Bas Dost and Luuk De Jong together scored 72 goals in 81 games. Liverpool have had a problem scoring goals last season and these 2 would get the goals and assists we need. They would only cost 19 million. Also, Sigurdsson (on avarage) would have scored 15 or 16 goals and he knows when to shoot or whether to put someone else through on goal. Also, any interest in Affely or Walcott? 2 wingers for either side who have pace, ability,can assist by crossing mang can score a few goals.

Would appreciate a reply.
Well done for all your hard work and effort
LFC FOREVER!

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Luuk De Jong and Sigurdsson.}

As Rodgers said "The wheelbarrow isn't full", I know its anyones guess but how much do you think he will be given? Because if big money is spent and he screws up id say the owners will want out...

When has rodgers said that?

He also never said how big the wheelbarrow is - we all know that Americans like to think they do everything bigger, proof of that is the size of the seats in macdonalds in the USA

Do you have any info regarding nick powell and nabay? {Ed002's Note - Nothing of interest to Liverpool fans.}

Powell will sign for united

Sad, i thought Powell had a bit of class about him. Going to United just confirms i was wrong.

He might have skill, technique and quality, but he certainly doesn't possess the class i thought he did.

Yeah, i'm a little sore about it.

United lost the league on goal difference and have champions league football. we finished 8th. who would you sign for?

Come on mate, just because they sign for United doesn't mean they don't have class. Look at Paul Scholes. He has class. He has stuck to Man united after moving from Oldham and he hasn't been a you know what about being as good as he is.

BthekingB

I would sign for the team I had the most chance of playing first team football for. He wont be getting that at united anytime soon. Having said that utd do have a crap midfield.

...if there are any players that aren't happy with Brendan Rodgers at the club, THEN GET RID OF THEM IMMEDIATELY !! WE are Liverpool Football Club, loyalty means EVERYTHING.

Kind of contradicting yourself there!

Oh, right, so i'm "Contradicting myself" Heres the definition of loyalty: "Faithful adherence to a sovereign, government, leader or cause" I don't want a bunch of clowns like Lampard and Terry undermining my team from inside the dressing room and behind my back (AVB scenario) If they're not happy, then its bye bye... ...if you don't understand that, then maybe you should try educating yourself... Why does he have such a high opinion of himself? Think a long hard look in the mirror is called for Joey, suppose he has got to do something though as he has got nothing to do for the next 4 months..tool

We have six players in the England squad. We fans know that we have some quality in the club. I believe this is the reason that six of our players they were picked. The biggest problem at the club was Clarke. In my opinion he was not upto the job. Now with the new manager and hopefully with a quality coach all players will improve and with some new blood coming in, fingers crossed we will be heading towards the top

alex7777

The players did not perform up to standard last year, enough said. They're grown men and should play their best every game, they're paid to. It doesn't happen.

But for you to blame Steve Clarke is absolutely shocking, he's a brilliant coach.

Just been reading a really negative article on Pepe Reina and how (even though his belated welcome to BR) that he is not happy with his appointment.

Do we know if their is any truth in this?

Also (i know this will have been asked) it states that Vorm could be a potential replacement and its thought the "gentlemans agreement" may not stand if the player puts in a transfer request?

Has to be said though, the club are doing one hell of a job keeping tight lipped, weve been linked with so many player and i doubt if anyone has a clue who we want, will go for or the strategy in place - although I did see Bendtner mentioned!! if this is so BR ill clean me boots off, im only 36 and scored a penalty for my school in as cup qtr final once

Alright Eds. Any idea on wether Cole, Aqua, Spearing, Jonjo, Glen, Adam, Carroll or Maxi be leaving anytime soon? Would like to see the lot go to free up some funds (with maybe the exception of Johnson but hes far from irraplacable). Also with regards to players coming in, I cant see the Bendtner story being true, or the Jarvis and Campbell ones, and also not that keen on Diame but that one seems to be carrying some weight now. Hopefully A.Johnson is being considered and Lucas will be like a new signing for us next year! Other than that I would love us to sign Belhanda! Hes quality. And Soldado and Sigurdsson. Think we should give Dempsey a miss though. He will be a squad player and there will be no re-sale value. It makes no sense to me. I would rather Brendan really went for the Crewe lad, and maybe take a punt on Rhodes and bring through Sterling and maybe Coady or Suso and used all them as squad players for experience and their value will go up and not decline and also it will cost less in wages. What do you reckon? {Ed002's Note - There will be players leaving and arriving this summer. You mention 23 players - I have no time to comment. Sorry.}

He also just turned 21 and he is great talent. Hi All ,just seen some talk of Micheal Owen going to Stoke,I was wondering what everbody thought of the way his career just seemed to go down hill from when he left us,was it pure greed that made him leave for Real,he hardly ever played there but when he did he scored a few,he moved to Newcastle and had a disaster there with form and injury,he went to United and was less than aback up player.I think if he stayed with us he would now be a true legend,I wonder does he rue the day he left the mighty reds.Thanks,would love to know if anybody has any info about his departure from Liverpool or does he now regret it.

Regret it? Are you drunk? He has a Premier League winners medal, Something that Gerrard will unfortunately never have. I very much doubt Owen regrets leaving us.

They must have decent stables down in stoke then, that's the only reason I can see him going there..

Myk

A premier league winners medal he done nothing to earn

Remember gerrard has a champs league medal to go with his match winning performance. What has Owen done really?

Maybe so mate, but like Torres, both are massive judas. Both winning medals for doing f'k all just bench warming. Hardly team players. They don't come more loyal than Stevie G.
Lee73

Its a shame a player like Gerrard will retire without lifting the premiership trophy, he should of signed for chelsea when he had the chance, his dad begged him to stay and sort of ruined his career

He could of been a legend if he had stayed, won a champions league with us, stayed free of injury, stayed away from horses, become our all time top scorer.
Never would of happened though, it's as if his hamstrings were actually made of ham.
Never really did understand his move to Madrid, he was never going to be a regular there.
No sympathy for how his career went after Liverpool it's his own fault.
His league winners medal is hollow and he will never look at it and feel proud as it was never earned.

MIKEY

Owen left us to try and win the Champions League, then we went and won it the year after he left, brilliant! I think he'd swap his worthless premier league medal that he contributed nothing towards, for a european cup medal?

Such bitter people to talk about a former player like that, you should all be ashamed of yourselves, Gerrard was signing for Chelsea but his dad literally begged him to stay. Do any of you know what YNWA means? Disgraceful. greg

^ He wanted to leave us just like Torres ended up doing! The stick the both of them get off LFC fan's is well deserved!

Hi All,seems United are going to spend a big sum of money on players this year and Chelsea and City no doubt will with Arsenal and Spurs also fighting for players it seems Brendan Rogers job of attracting quality without the attraction of champions league football is quite a tough job,myself I hope for at least 3-4 players that can be ready for first team action but cant see us getting our first choice targets with all the competition.

I very much doubt BR is going to come to liverpool and buy like he's still at Swansea.We are not in the champs league and that can hinder us in the transfer market. That didn't stop us signing suarez though. Kenny had alot of money to spend as a stand in manager, i doubt FSG would now decide to ease up on its spending. They are serious about winning, they are serious about BR enough to not appoint a DoF. He will be shrewd, Gylfie would be a tremendous buy, proven in the prem and cheap too. There will be a big signing, to prove that the owners, the manager and the club are not going to settle for the league position of last season.

09 Jun 2012 13:58:12
Dempsey and Bendtner

Meanwhile over at Old Trafford they've signed Kagawa and linked with Lewandowski.

Chelsea sign Marin, Hazard and limked with Hulk

Arsenal sign Podolski

Dempsey and Bendtner are not going to help us improve I'm afraid.

The sad thing is that Dempsey wouldnt even come to us because he said he wants champions league football

The truth is that no-one knows what is happening. Those two names are just the latest that have been mentioned by people who at best are guessing who Rodgers might have in mind. The fact that Macca has gone silent is all you need to know. Sigurdsson is the only player I expect to sign, the others are going to be a surprise and that is a great thing!

Canadian Fan

Bendter NO Dempsey YES, would improve our squad, Dempsey scored nearly as many goals on his own than all our attacking players could manage to muster together,

Do you think they are blind and don't see that he's useless? As if we would go after Nicky Bender...

Myk

Dempsey and Sigurdsson alone would make a dramatic improvement to our team.

A few more goals last season and we could have done the cup double and challenged for top four.

I thought we couldnt get any worse than last season when we signed Carroll, Adam, Downing, Coates and Henderson. Now we are linked with players like Sigurdsson, Moses, Diame, De Jong and the ''best player in the world'' Nicholas Bendtner.

What a joke, We are doomed for next season. There's no way Reina, skrtel and Suarez will stick around if we are going for players of this standard. Alan

Being linked and signing them are very different, let's see what happens before we write ourselves off. Personally think diame and de Jong would be good signings

i don't know about anyone else but if it is true that BR only has to agree with diame coming to liverpool then we should get him. i i were offered him as a free i would bite your arm off. if it wasn't for his heart condition then he'd be playing for a top 4 team. he is very powerful and both footed. yes he is away to the ACON and has a heart condition but we have luas too. i think he wiill push him very hard for that starting position actually.

Any chance of belhanda, schurlle, Powell? I think if we sold a few players like adam, downing, aqua and free up some wages as well as bringing a little money wouldn't be so much breaking the bank for these players. All three are young and look class. YNWA {Ed002's Note - Search function broken?}

We have no chance of signing Belhanda, Powell is going to United and Schurlle isnt an improvement on what we have

Hi eds, for me I think we should get.....huntelarr for he's guaranteed goals no matter the fact he is 28/29. Goals win games! Games win trophies. Then elia for his pace and trickery on either wings. We can get him for about 5/6m. Diame as cover defensive and bring back aquilani and cole for some creation (more than we had last season). Then maybe a cover left back like cissoko or Willem at psv.

Coley! {Ed002's Note - Willem looks Manchester United bound and I doubt Cissokho would want to act as cover. Huntelaar wants to hear of any offers made for him.}

I'd be more than happy if we only sign a right winger and keep the majority of our current squad. With lucas hopefully back and Joe cole maybe given a chance, under Rodgers things could be a whole lot better than last season. We have a world class keeper 7-8 good defenders, gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Adam and shelvey to cover the the centre of midfield. The new signing, downing, Bellamy and sterling to cover the wings and Suarez, Carroll up-front. I'm sure we will play a 4-3-3 system so Suarez starting and Carroll on the bench. I would love to see sterling, suso and coady making a few bench appearances aswell. Some of the football we played last season was the best I've seen. The only thing missing was confidence and hard work. Some of the players enjoyed going to trainig too much under dalglish. Rodgers will have them working hard and get there confidence up.

MACCA, come out, come out wherever you are......

09 Jun 2012 12:18:19
Right, lots of rumours persisting to fly around in regards to players. Last week, Rodgers talked about certain individuals in the Liverpool squad and his feelings in regards to their qualities...

"For a start, there's a world class goalkeeper," said Rodgers.

"I really like Pepe Reina, he's come through at Barcelona so he will know straight away the identity of this way I would like to bring in and the principles of the game.

"Defensively, they've been reasonably strong throughout the season. You've got Glen Johnson who can be the world's best right back, he can bomb, he can run, he can serve the ball and he's quick. I know Glen from my time before.

"You've got Enrique who will only get better. At Newcastle he was fantastic and for big parts of last season he's done great.

"You've got your two centre halves, Skrtel and Agger, who've done well. You've got a legend in Jamie Carragher who will always provide great challenge and motivation for the group. What an absolutely phenomenal player he's been for here.

"Then there are other players in the team like Suarez (left) who is a talent and who scores goals, great goals, Then you've got Steven Gerrard who when he's fit he's the ultimate".

Now, as part of Rodgers' philosophy, he likes goalkeepers who are confident with the ball at their feet, are able to play a pass and has great distribution. Reina possesses all these qualities. Yes he may have had a dodgy season or even two, but he hasn't had a good goalkeeping coach to push him and help him develop. He may be the highest earning keeper in the League but nowadays, if you want one of the best you have to pay up. Reina has also said he loves the style of play Rodgers wants and he is at his disposal. I can't see Reina leaving.

Glen Johnson. Rodgers uses his full backs as second wingers. He wants players who drive the team forward and are able to put a good cross into the box. Johnson on his day is a brilliant player who has all the capabilities of being a top winger. He's a right back by trade and I believe he has been a better defender than in the past. Angel Rangel and Neil Taylor did this last season for BR at Swansea last season. The only stumbling block with Johnson is his wages I suppose as he is a top earner but again, I think he suits BR's philosophy well do again, don't think he'll leave.

Daniel Agger is an excellent carrier of the ball and has an eye for a pass, again, suiting BR's philosophy. I think Skrtel compliments this as he is a no nonsense defender but I think out of the defenders, he'd be the most likely to leave if any do.

Matt Jarvis £6mil, Mario Gomez £25mil, Mohamed Diame Free and Gylfi Sigurdsson £7mil. Brendan Rogers will try to raise extra funds by selling Jay Spearing and a couple other fringe players. He is actively seeking a left back/wingback to provide competition for Enrique.

The Trunchbull

Why would gomez come to liverpoool you person he has everything he wants there plus double the wages we could pay!

Would love gomez but its not going to happen im sure we made a bid before we got carroll and was knocked back nothing will have changed why would bayern get rid of 1 of their best strikers

Despair and pessimism are terrible things they eat you up and leave you weak. It tends to be those who feel entitled who have had it good that pessimism and despair takes hold of when times get tough.

In a small mining village in Scotland, a place of no work or tough work, pessimism and despair were hard to find. Because in Glenbuck they bred collective spirit, hope, hunger and that unquenchable burning desire to show they were as good as any.

So we today as fans we feel powerless and we moan...
We cant decide transfer targets!
We cant decide the tactics or draw up the team sheets.
We cant build a new stadium or write off the clubs debt
We cant appoint Directors of Football or Managers nor decide the commercial direction to exploit emerging markets.

No indeed we cant.

But what we can do is deliver the support that blew away Cyruff, Henry,Maradona. We can lift average teams who have lost hope and elevate them to European champions, we can outsing the Romans in Rome. We can give energy to tiring legs. We can suck the ball into the net at the KOP end. When others say Liverpool has lost its soul we can in a very load, expression sung with wit and passion show that some things will never die!

The KOP was Shanklys pride because it was and is the heart beat of the football club.

So to hell with who we sign and if they arent global mega stars then all the better because whoever pulls on the RED SHIRT has gained the greatest trophy in football the LIVER BIRD UPON THEIR CHEST.

So when we are a goal down with 10 minutes left dont moan or swear SING! SING LOAD! YOU HAVE MORE POWER THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW!

DONT BUY THE SUN

I hit the agree button about 20 times then bro brought a tear to my eye what movie was that out of haha. STEMLOCC1

Any interest in Welliton? He is amazing on FIFA!

Signing next Tuesday apparently. GET REAL

Oh lets buy him then!

jesus, some people are idiots.

Fifa is obviously liverpool's no.1 place for scouting

Why slate someone for saying a player is good on fifa, shame on you, you insecure fools.

No fifa is number 2 for scouting its football manager thats number 1

Yes he is good on fifa, well spotted.

To prefer most of the people here slating this guy off when youre all probably no better bet most of you look on youtube at the people that are mentioned well youtube isnt a good source it doesnt show consistency?

Hi eds
Is there any truth we are going to loan players to Swansea and West Brom? We need to start soon loaning to PL.
Also is Suso signing a new contract? He has 1 year left.
Devvvv {Ed002's Note - I don't know if a contract offer has been made - loans, we will see.}

09 Jun 2012 11:13:38
I pray to the mighty god of 'no more f**k ups' and ask that we don't sign Clint Dempsey, bloody hell guys he's no where near good enough for us. This is supposed to be a new dawn, a new era when we start again and we need to set the bar a bit higher than that, I don't mean any disrespect to the guy because he's done very well where he is but that's his level, I could see this being another David Speedy. I hope that what I'm reading is just rumour nonsense.
Jud.

Hear, jolly well, hear !
The Real KB

I agree whole-heartedly...
Being a Yank, I love to see an American players succeed, but Dempsey is not even close to being good enough. His movement off the ball is terrible, has no pace, tries to be tricky when he has the ball and usually ends up looking silly... Yes, he scored quite a few last year, and I was proud of him for that, but I would be massively disappointed if we signed him...
However, I will say that he's better than Bendtner (sp?)
...that guy is dreadful.
YNWA USA

Dempsey is a brillaint player. Did you idiots above even watch him last season, he bombarded our midfield !!

I don't agree. He's not the youngest and probably at best for that reason i could agree not a good signing, but in terms of positioning, passing and goal scoring. probably the best with his head in Premier league

gareth

Given that this guy scored about half as money goals as the entire LIverpool team last season, I'd say it's more a question of whether he wants to come and play for us!

Dempsey is a step up from some of the attacking dross we put out last season.

But did'nt David Speedie score a hatrick on his debut against Everton!

09 Jun 2012 11:07:49
we should def get sigurdsson and dempsey if possible, henderson,spearing and adam all out and get a good right winger and another striker. keep downing for another year at least. posibly a left back to challenge enrique, what you think eds?

Dont agree with kicking out henderson. As for Dempsey, if he comes for 6 mil then yes, otherwise go for Susaeta.

09 Jun 2012 11:05:14
eds/macca, do you know what games brendan rodgers is going to watch at the euro's and what players he is looking at? thanks

He is helping the spanish team train or something so we will sign xavi, iniesta, negredo, fabrigas, alonso, silva and navas !

09 Jun 2012 11:05:06
we have to consider dempseys age if considering to buy him,if he was the right price i think the club should give im a go...

09 Jun 2012 11:03:04
Hi ed- Ryad boudebouz or adam johnson.for me ryad boudebouz could cost must lesser than johnson,and surely be a better than move for lfc as compared to johnson

Ryad boudebouz is a decent player with a massive ego. i'd take adam johnson every time. maybe you should watch him play rather than skill vids on youtube ?

Adam Johnson is not a special talent nor a very hardworking player. So, instead of spending 15 mil on him, the money could be spent on two players like boudebouz and Susaeta.

There's a reason Johnson doesn't get regular game time at Citeh - he isn't good enough. Why would we want to pay +£10 million and high wages.

Susaeta over these two all day.

09 Jun 2012 11:01:58
morning eds keep up the great work,best site ever FACT.right ed i dont think there will be any world class player's coming in for us.but 4 or 5 hard working players that give there all,just got a feeling that rodger's want's 110% work rate.i would like too see a new keeper come in too we are very light for keeper's,we have got pepe i know but who now's if he will stay.jay essex red for life red till dead.hear's hoping for big thing's

Funny i think we're covered for keepers we have 3 who are of a premier league/ high championship level and then we have younger kepers coming through

09 Jun 2012 10:55:33
Why are people on here always suggesting we are close to signing the likes of soldado, Christian Erikson, affelay etc? When the media seems to think that we are going to sign bendtner, Jarvis and possibly diame. I also saw the other day that we might go for bent again...

Let's stop dreaming and start accepting we are not the team we once were. Also let's hope no once mentions a marquee singing or stats asking the eds to "rate the possibility of these players out of 10". It's just pointless.

One final thing on my rant, people who make things up for the sake of making things up are just been selfish to the poor guy who may be gullible enough to go and possibly place money on a player joining. I know it sounds extreme but when people a posting things such as "from an excellent source" or "I know a guy who works at melwood" 99.9% of us know that this is almost certainly not the case. But what I'd that 0.01% believes you and goes and spunks £100 on Some player joining liverpool...

Sorry I Started typing then and all that started coming out.

Rob

I would rather believe people on here, Rob mate. Before I would believe the gutter press.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - Aguero nailed on I hear Blair - fantastic partnership to be created with the returning Torres and Neymar tucked in behind.}

Whatade me laugh about this post was, the post below says "ed what are the chances out of 10 of these players signing" then there's a list if about 10 players lol
Tizer red

If people are stupid enough to believe some of the stuff on here, then surely thats their problem. some people are beyond help.

my mate has a wife who knows Rodgers wife and she said...... its clearly rubbish, surely no-one would believe it.

Did you lose a bet aye ?

Don't want Torres or Aguero, Ed mate. But id be happy with Neymar, Gomez and Higuain. Out of 0 to -1 what are the chances, to get these players?

Whilst you're online Ed002. Do you still think that we will redevelop Anfield? Or will we build a new Stadium? I'm trying to understand Ayres comments but he suggests one thing then another.

Sorry for the questions Ed. I know you're busy in the south of France sipping margaritas, in the sunshine.

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - I am back in the UK Mafter a week in teh States. A new build would need to go through planning and I still favour the Anfield refresh - possibly with a sponsor for naming rights.}

Blair,
Liverpool City Council have been announcing plans to selectively demolish properties behind the Main Stand, which sort of suggests that re-development is more likely.
The residents weren't too happy though, from what I read.
I have not seen anything at all about any infra-structure improvements.
Street-scaping and environmental improvements - yes.
Maybe road widening or closing off terraces that join with the main routes ; Walton Breck Road and the like.
I would agree with Ed002. And I also think that naming rights could be put in place for Anfield. Very good shout there Ed.
The Real KB

I read the article a few weeks ago KB mate about the Anfield Village (600 houses) being built. I think you and Ed002 could be spot on. But I do think selling the name of Anfield could cause a bit of a stir. Especially when Ayre said a while back that renaming Anfield if we redevelop Anfield would not be considered.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - One of the controversies yet to hit the site Blair.}

Lol, we've coaxed one of them out of you Ed002 !
I actually would not have a problem with this. You may be surprised Ed, if the stadium issue gets moved on, a lot of fans will live with it. I certainly would. Not an issue at all with me.
Have you heard any further details Ed, sponsor ?
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - No detail at all KB but I suspect that if if does go this route many will be screaming. Even the suggestion of it before got some folks fuming.}

diego godin
rasmus elm
gylfi sigurdsson
boudebouz
diame

afellay

Sorry mate but no chance with any of them !

I would say some of them are possibles, the others are not.

You're welcome. Thank me later.

Ed's or Macca, can you clarify the situation in regards to John Achterberg. I remember Ed001 I think, saying he had been sacked a while back and would leave at the end of the season? However, the LFC official website has been updated to show the Comolli, Clarke, Keen and Brukner have all left but Achterberg's profile remains on the site.

Thanks,

AJ

If Luuk de Jong has a good tournament, watch his price sky rocket.

He probably wont play much

Anyones price will rocket if they have a good tournament!

Dzagoevs risen 10 mil just after first game {Ed002's Note - He will be out of contract in December.}

If he has a nightmare we could maybe do a straight swap with Adam ! :)

09 Jun 2012 10:36:25
Ed's is there any chance of getting Gary Hooper or Anthony Stokes from celtic they are both young , always banging goals in and would not cost much {Ed002's Note - I don't know of interest right now.}

The spl is the equivalent of a sunday morning pub league. Would be awful buys IMO.

09 Jun 2012 10:31:40
The next couple of weeks are going to be very predictable on here. Whichever teams are being screened at the time - their players will be the 'ones we need'. I think ED 022 should get ready for a zillion odd names to do a player profile on and ED 002 qill get asked about the possibilities of a,b and c coming to Anfield. Oh happy days

Hi ed I watched yesterdays matches and the players that really stood out for me were
Lewandowski
Orbaniak
Dzagoev
Kerzhakov(even tho he couldn't finish he's a good playmaker)
What are the chances of these please ed and have we been interested in these before
Great site cheers ed!

For the ED's. Been coming on this site from pretty much the beginning when it was actually a good rumours site, now it seems to have morphed into a "Ask the EDs'" page. Would it not be a good idea to create a page where all the direct questions that in themselves do not offer any information but only ask for it? Would save us a lot of time from trolling through the same questions to EDs' every day.

Just a thought.
(good job btw) {Ed002's Note - We tried and it didn't work. Perhaps you can think of a way to get the fans to read the other posts before sending anything in?}

Why don't you suggest they use the search function?
Just a thought!

Don't post them !

There is a liverpool questions page i sometimes have a read for a laugh you should post all the questions on there stop the main 2 pages getting cluttered up with dumb questions lol

Liverpool FC seem to be on lockdown in giving any information to anyone about transfers, stadium or technical team. This is the way it should be! All the Ed's/Macca seem to have less info these days. Whilst they still provide great opionions they seem to find harder than ever to give us definate information. This can only mean the owners are working privately behind the scenes instead of getting our hopes up with something that may or may not happen. Kuyt moving to turkey for example was not in the media circles long before it was announced. I love the fact all the papers, SSN don't have a clue anymore! Keep up good work tho Ed's/Macca. Any info you do have is far more reliable than anywhere else!

09 Jun 2012 09:59:44
Please tell me its the media trying to upset us with the links to bendtner?

There are no media links just one crap kids blog site...Caught offside.

09 Jun 2012 09:59:36
Hello Eds, first time poster but I'm a big fan of the site. I check in every hour or so and you make the transition between league seasons worthwhile.

What happened to Miralem Pjanic? This kid looked like he'd develop into something wonderful. Were/are we interested in him?

Prop for the good work, and I'd appreciate a response.
Cheers Mate. YNWA!!

Ozzy, Kenyan Red {Ed002's Note - He plays for Roma. If he ever had a half-decent game no doubt Liverpool were linked to him.}

Just read an old Dave Maddock piece from the Mirror.co.uk

It was written around the time of Comolli's sacking and predicted wholesale changes. He's well connected at the club and three lines immediately got me thinking. Talking about FSGs growing anger at a lack of results for their investment and previous investment were these nuggets that could inform some of our summer transfer deals.

LFC top four in terms of wage bill !!
LFC have highest paid keeper in PL
LFC have highest paid right-back in PL
LFC have highest paid players out on loan in world football !! (Cole & Aquilani)

In terms of rebalancing the squad that makes Reina and Johnson most likely sales (for decent money)

Rob Green on a free and Jack Butland signed and loaned back ?? Two keepers from England Euro squad and more than 10m towards Soldado and Susaeta/Muniain

AsI wrote yesterday I'd sign Nathaniel Clyne to fight with Kelly at right-back and that's another 8m or so towards the attacking end of the team.

PieInTheSkyMan

You lost all credibility when you said we should sign rob green

Reina deserves his high pay, im sure the owners don't mind paying top wages to the star performers.
If you could take anything away from the article it's that Johnson is overpaid for what he does, Is he the best right back in the league? I want him sold next summer to free up wages and let Kelly take over.
Cole and aquilani need to be taken off the wage bill as soon as possible, a lot of talk about cole coming back but at that price is it really worth it? His performances are never going to match his wages, not week in week out anyway.
We would be a lot better off saving his wages and bringing in another player who can do the job at lower cost, sigursson maybe? We have some great talents in the accedemy waiting for there chances as well.
What I get from the owners is that they are more than happy to pay high wages if the player is worth it, gerrard, reina, Suarez etc.
But they can't stomach players sucking good money out the club when so little is given back, aquilani, cole, poulson etc.

MIKEY

I think city might beat us on the highest paid players out on loan.

gee man

Owners will pay a lot if they feel players are worth it. Check out how they run the Red Sox.

They are angry at paying a lot to players who are not worth it (Johnson) or do not even play (Cole, Aquilani).

At his best, Reina is probably the best keeper in the Prem (along with Hart and, sometimes, Cech).

09 Jun 2012 09:59:08
caughtoffside is rubbish, however for a min just imagine there is no money and we are shopping a Aldi?

09 Jun 2012 09:59:01
Eds, with the Euros underway, and most Liverpool fans currently shooting in the dark on player transfers, people will inevitably start asking about new players. We know it's unwise to judge a player on one game or one tournament (Milan Baros), but we can't help but speculate! On that note, what's the latest on the futures of Vaclav Pilar, and Alan Dzagoev? Both looked excellent. Dzagoev will likely have every big club after him... Pilar however, seems to fit the bill in terms of a "BR player," AND looks an attainable target.

09 Jun 2012 09:57:11
I know its only caughtoffside.com but "Brendan Rodgers has Nicklas Bendtner, Mohamed Diame and Matt Jarvis in his sights as he looks to begin spending at Liverpool."

Hopefully there is a healthy budget for him to spend if not we're in for one topsy turvey season!

09 Jun 2012 09:53:17
Guys you need to calm down! Firstly I have faith in BR but remember we finished 8th last year and its unlikely we will make Champions league for at least a couple of seasons.

I believe FSG are planning for a prolonged stint without European football. I think their philosophy is wrong and a huge gamble. I would much prefer big investment to pull us up BUT THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

So we will see the wage budget drop playing squad cut back and we gotta hope we sign the next big things cos to established stars we are not currently an attractive prospect.

We're in Europe next year mate !
The Real KB

TYPE 3 SUPPORTER ALERT !

^^^^^

This is 'THE' response to the continuing negative bunch out there...

Lee YNWA

Type 3! Very good!

We can finish top six next season with the players we have, and the right tactics.

Some good buys, and properly drilled in pass and move, we can challenge for top four the season after.

09 Jun 2012 09:39:52
Can't believe welbeck will be ahead of Carroll against France! Not just sayin that because of Liverpool, but andy would be a far greater handful!

Welbeck plays for manunited so is obviously well overrated. look at evra he is still getting called the bast left back when he is ding.

Welbeck scores goals, Carroll does not. Simples

09 Jun 2012 09:39:37
If the rumours were to be believed on this site they would go as follows.

skrtel...... has put in a transfer request.

suarez......is going to be sold to much trouble.

johnson.....on to much money being sold.

pepe.......hes fed up with club and wants move.

adam......not good enough being sold.

carroll...... wont fit in to rodgers style of play sold.

agger...... real madrid have turned his head.

downing.....failed to deliver sold.

spearing.....had his chance didnt take it sold.

maxi......was sold then came back wtf.

I could go on and on but i think youse will get my drift. The club only knows whos going and whos coming. If people think were going to shop in the bargain basement like the previous owners then thats up to them. keeping our best players together and going after quality is what i think these guys will be doing.Not and i repeat not selling our best players and going after crap Werner himself said he wants us to be the best team in england and to also compete against the best in europe. I dont think we would be able to do that by buying peoples cast offs.

gee man

Sorry your post does not make sense.

Why does selling these players mean we are shopping in bargain basement?

09 Jun 2012 09:16:44
Nicklas Bender?? Surely we havn't stooped that low?
Kiddy Red.

Now lars or sven bender would be a good signing tho or even bender from futurama

09 Jun 2012 09:14:40
Please tell me it's not true!! One site saying that we've been linked with Niklas Bendtner! He's rubbish! We need a couple of quality signings if we want to challenge for a CL spot. I know the king spent 100M last year but we got 60M in for Torres and Babel. Now is not the time to scrimp and throw good money down the drain on mediocre premier league players.

Tell you its not true its from caught offside surel'y that tells you everything you need to know it has a 0% strike rate and i mean 0 it only ever gets them right after every 1 else including the newspapers and even lfc have confirmed the transfers anything from caught offside should be ignored
riley

09 Jun 2012 09:02:06
I've just read on the bbc website that Rodgers is looking at Bendtner. Please please please god tell me this isn't so.

It's from caught offside! Say no more.

Caught offside is as much use as a chocolate teapot!

Sjb76

It's true ,I hear Clarke took line marking man with him . Cheers psv

Agree 100%
Not the sort of quality we need to be looking at.
Wasn't good enough at Arsenal.
Hasn't shown anything different while on loan either.

RedAllOverButNotSore

Ignore caught offside, it's made up stuff, check the club page to the hundreds of previous entries confirming hundreds of players. If you mention a gazillion players eventually one will be correct but it's not from any insider knowledge, just random speculation, I'd trust an Octopus to select genuine player rumours more than caught offside

09 Jun 2012 08:02:13
Hey ed's...a fan from india...following this site closely and great work....have posted here a couple of times....my question is that Krisztian Adorjan is now 18 and is he ready to play in the top flight??will he be loaned out to gather experience?? {Ed002's Note - I don't know if he is ready or not and it is really too early to talk of loans as the manager will need to take some time to evaluate the squad. I suspect the situation with loans will become clear in August.}

09 Jun 2012 05:01:58
Hi Eds,

1)Just wondering what happens to Eduardo Vargas who joining Napoli last season. He hardly play there isn't he? Any interest from Liverpool? He can be a good partner for Suarez if LFC dont want to play long ball.

2)Eds, you think which more likely to sign for Liverpool, Matt Philips or Adam Johnson? Heard that BR scouting Matt Philips for Swansea. Is he any good?

3) Eds, any info on LFC budget this summer?

Thanks for ur answer..

Osman'LFC {Ed002's Note - (1) Vargas will not be moving to Liverpool this summer. (2) Liverpool have had an interest in both players - "most likely" is not something I can answer. (3) There is nothing on "budget".}

09 Jun 2012 08:30:49
Any chance of dzagoev eds? Was amazing against the Czech republic last night. {Ed002's Note - Dzagoev has interested Chelsea in the past but Arsenal have shown a lot of interest this past year including sending a contingent to watch him play in Moscow back last summer. He will be available on a free transfer at the end of the year, not in the summer.}

Are people serious about these Russians ?

Pav and Zhirkov hardly pulled up any trees and Arshavin mainly woeful in the Prem. Plus Russian teams are cash rich so not as though they need to leave their homeland. Get real guys .

09 Jun 2012 07:30:22
Shirokov looked good in a very impressive Russian team. Might be worth a punt. {Ed016's Note - Can not judge players on one game. The Russians looked like an O.K team playing against a poor team yesterday. They exploited the right perfectly. Noticed the weakness and passed through the other team.

Alas this is what happens, players has a great game and people will start questioning why we are not going for them. Shame about the Czech republic, don't seem to have the players coming through, they were amazing in the tournament Greece won.

Shirokov is a good player. I haven't had a chance to watch him in the Russian league, but in the recent internationals before Euro, he did seem to stick out as a very smart player. He is 30 years old though. Not gonna happen I'm afraid.

09 Jun 2012 06:48:22
Can everyone who thinks Adam Johnson will move to Liverpool get a grip? It disappoints me to read continually people wanting him. He's overrated! Would you spend a large sum of money for Adam Johnson who has attitude problems as well or spend the same figure on someone who's far more promising such as Gaston Ramirez? I'm just glad some of you on here aren't our manager because some of the suggestions such as Adam Johnson are pathetic, wayyyyy to much FIFA/FM12....

You'd rather downing?

Why are you slagging Johnson off, he's very talented, can go past a man, and put in a good cross, also one of the few players in the prem that can change a game when he comes on. Ramerez is unproven in the EPL.

Sooty

Hey eds, heard we're signing Dzagoev, Lewandowski, Pavlyuchenko, Shirokov, Salpingdis and Pilar, any truth in that do you know?

Red Ollie

Red ollie dosent get out alot

Why post such rubbish...It's just a case of picking random names of players who were playing yesterday...

I think that was more of a sarcastic Joke from Red Ollie.

Jord

He's clearly taking the p#ss!

I think it was a joke and it just went over your guys heads haha
KiwiRed

It was all the goalscorers from the opening day, lads. Try readin the names ;D

Haha, well done Ollie

McSnuggles

It didn't go over peoples heads, it was just painfully bad

09 Jun 2012 02:35:46
Hey Eds, any chance of a phonetic pronunciation page with us being linked to people like Blaszczykowski, Teixeira and Txiki Begiristain? It is only set to get worse if Russia and Poland remain in the Euros :)

cozinoz {Ed002's Note - On a plus side the Sri Lankans are not there.}

Coming from a Sri Lankan...good one ED!

09 Jun 2012 02:29:19
To sum up what's realistic guys this is what we COULD expect this summer:
In:
Gaston Ramirez
Adam Johnson
Luuk De Jong
Gylfi Sigurdsson
Mohamed Diame
and maybe a utility player in defence.

Out:
Charlie Adam
Jay Spearing
Maxi
Kuyt (gone)
Aurelió (gone)
Doni
Shelvey will go out on loan

Shelvey is our brightest young prospect and will not be going on loan, he is very much ready to be pushing for his name on the stating team sheet on a regular basis, expect to see him flourish under our new style of football

09 Jun 2012 02:27:05
Please can you tell me some of the players we may be interested in and what is the latest on the stadium situation thanks {Ed002's Note - You need to keep up with the posts.}

Diame, Rasmus Elm, Ryad Boudebouz and Sigurdsson seem likely, although i doubt we'd sign Elm and Sigurdsson without planning on selling someone like Spearing and/or Adam and there is a quiet rumbling rumour that maybe Liverpool will be in the hunt for Soldado, but again i think it's a log shot; but that's what i've been reading so far.

Hey eds! Just wondering if there was any interest in Chilean Bryan Rabello.The kid is very talented and exciting. From what I understand, it seems as Sevilla are most likely to sign him. Im very curious to know if our scouts in S.A. have had a look. thanks

Cease {Ed002's Note - I don't know if he has been looked at or not, but as you say a move to Seville is in the offing.}

I love it how everyone's raving about Lewandowski and how we should sign him when theres an even more deadly striker, who we've actually shown interest in AND have a realistic chance of signing thats not at the Euros. Roberto Soldado is who Im talking about. In my opinion he is a much better striker than Lewandowski and he might just slip off the radar by not being at the euros. Lets hope we do make a bid because he is pure quality.
KiwiRed

Isnt he a bit slow though?

No, he's plenty quick enough. Plus we don't need a quick striker. We didn't lack pace up top, we lacked someone to put the ball away. Thats what Soldado does. Higuain has very little pace and yet he is one of the best strikers in the world. I don't understand why everyone thinks pace is essential.
KiwiRed

No we lack pace up front. Suarez isn't quick, Carroll is Carroll

But I seem to remember last season we didnt lack pace up front, we lacked a fox in the box. We lack pace in our midfield maybe, but not up top.
KiwiRed

Remember raffa wanted higuain b4 he made it in to madrid team

Have heard we have looked at these players in the last 6 months? guessing all previous scouting is under review now we have BR, but if these rumours are true i'd be very happy just to get one of them in.

alvaro morata
cesar Azpilicueta
Moussa Sissoko
Milan Badelj

Suso, Sterling, Shelvey and possibly Morgan getting a few chances this year, "big name" signings will be sparce with squad players coming in with 1 possibly 2 15m(ish) signings. We wont be breaking the bank so hold on to your knickers guys

I had heard Alan Dzagoev's name on here before, but turned my nose up at it, as I had never seen him play. Towards the build up to the Euro's I started hearing his name again, but on Twitter as 'one to watch'.

I was really looking forward to watching him play tonight, and I was really impressed! Forget the goals he scored, he looks like a very clever footballer, good technique and works incredibly hard. For a 21 year old it was a great performance, looking forward to seeing if he can do it throughout the tournament...

Ed(s), are we one of (I'm sure) many clubs that are tracking him?

Cheers,

Stone YNWA. {Ed016's Note - Many clubs. I heard we were tracking his progress but nothing more than that}

Hi Eds do you know if we still hold an interest in Claudemir, we had him scouted last year i think and he could be available for as little as 5m euros. Can also play CB as well.

Thanks

Captain Jack

Mifield Congestion

We Have: Gerrard Lucas Henderson Adam Spearing

Returning from loan: Aquilani Cole

Players the club are looking to bring in: Elm Sigurdsson Diame

Youth team promotions?: Suso, Sterling,

With potentially so many midfielders on our books please can one of the Eds tell me who is likely to leave LFC this summer? (I know cole and aquilani seem likely but what if BR decides to keep them? )

Hopefully adam,spearing and aquilani are moved on.

Cole has been offered a chance to stay,probably in a more attacking role.

Cant see us signing elm now,and sigurdsson and diame are two different midfielders all together.

Suso will probably be loaned out,and sterling is considered as a more attacking player.

Thus leaving us with;
gerrard
henderson
lucas
cole
sigurdsson
diame

problem solved?

Well BR will decide. If he keeps Aquilani I imagine Adam will leave but we'll see what happen won't we?

Red Ollie

I'd keep Aquilani he had a better season at liverpool than cole also had two solid seasons at Juv and Milan. If we can't get the £7m we want for him I'd think we'd keep him until we do.

and regardless i don't think adam is up to it, looked nothing like the player he was at blackpool was his PL debut season just an illusion?

Nonsense
Adam never tracked back at Blackpool and he ballwatched. Was never a box to box midfielder.
When he's your teams source of creativity and flair, when he's your "out" player - then these bad attributes can be forgiven in a lesser team (no offence to Blackpool).
By most people's standards including his own - he had a poor season last year and so these bad attributes have been accentuated.
I hope he picks himself up next season and shows us what he's made of. I'm prepared to stand by him. He won't be walking alone whilst he wears a red shirt and my red heart is still ticking.
RedTed

Of the original poster's midfield list I would say:
Gerrard - nowhere near the player he was
Henderson- nowhere near the player he will become
Spearing-not good enough
Adam-consistently overawed
Lucas-how soon to get back to his best after such an injury?
Cole-will go home to London
Aquilani- Doesn't want to..ohhh god !

So not really 'stuffed' with class is it?

Puzzled

Would like to agree with redted and also point out Adam was bought as a dead ball specialist. he took everything while at blackpool, but was pushed to the back of the queue to often in my opinion last season.

Macca where are you?! Please let us in with a little bit of info about targets? Also eds great job with the site!

This is simply my opinion, if anyone wants to disagree please feel free to do so, but please refrain insulting me!

Liverpool fans of a certain age are used to success and supremacy. Slightly younger fans are told that's what they're used to.

But far, far too many fans criticise Liverpool players in my opinion.
It's way too easy to support through the good times. A fan who supports through the not so good times is worth 10 x more.

A few examples:
Carroll: in his first Premiership season at NUFC he was awesome. Bullied defenders, scored quality goals and was full promise. I remember thinking we had no chance of ever signing him, but when we did I was ecstatic. He was never worth £35 million, but that wasn't his fault. He had it good at Newcastle, but was pretty much told to move. Signing him for £35 million didn't make him a world class player overnight. And his slow start at Anfield hasn't made him rubbish either. He's shown glimpses of his potential, and at the end of last season looked unplayable.

Henderson: another young player with the burdon of a big price tag. Arrived at Anfield as a capped England international and a full season at Sunderland. Played out of position most of the year and didn't complain. A very gifted footballer, technically good and extremey hard working. Perfect for Brendan Rodgers style of football, as long as he's played in his best position. Let's not forget he's 21 years old...

Downing: as much as I've been disappointed with Downing, I think the stats lie. They haven't been kind to him. He's scored a couple of cup goals but no league goals. He's had no assists either. But, that isn't entirely his fault. He's created over 40 chances for his team mates this season (which is why he was bought).
He seems to be a confidence player, and I sometimes get so frustrated at his lack of drive, but maybe Rodgers can re-invigorate him? Surely we, as fans should get behind him?

These 3 players could be key players next season. I've heard too many people claiming that none of them will fit into Rodgers plans, but I disagree. They're good footballers. They're Liverpool players and until otherwise I'll support them unconditionally.

Joe

Well said Joe. Why can't more fans express themselves like this. If you disagree fair play. But structure your argument in a way that makes sense rather than just bashing players and posting fantasy transfers.
Red Greco

This lad knows what he is talking about,couldn't agree more mate!

Downing needs to realise that the club he is with now is a step up from his previous one. If he doesn't take more chances and stops playing square and backward passes this is going to be the furthest he will go. I would pleased if he could progress further and make Liverpool a better team. It might take a bit of BR psychology coaching next to make the next step?

Brilliant post and hope some take it in!

Keith

Henderson has good potential. If we had payed only £5 million would fans be so quick to criticise? They would then perhaps say he is a good squad player and leave him be. The first season with a new team is usually difficult. As the poster says he is only 21 (and dont forget has been included in England team for euro 2012 ) So give him a chance and he may become so good over the next few seasons that some of people who are already condeming him to the football scrapheap of wannabees may well be eating their words.
Hope i won't be eating mine .
Cheers red fans

Won't be any disagreement on my part mate, let alone abuse.

Support is support, thick and thin, walk on through the rain, never say die and all that jazz.

Cheers, Joe and well said.

Red7.

Great post Joe, sound and logical expressions of how you see it.

As Brendan said when he took over, there are three types of supporters:

TYPE 1) Those who love and support the club unconditionally

TYPE 2) Those who love the club but need some convincing that the club is doing things correctly before they will give their unequivocal love and support

TYPE 3) Those who criticise at EVERY opportunity.

As our new manager has stated, he is happy with the first two types of supporters as they genuinely want the club to succeed and will always get behind the team. These supporters will ultimately take us onwards and upwards, irrespective of their age or background. They have intelligence and can see the bigger picture and they also have patience.

The third type will NEVER be happy and are born whingers...... they are at EVERY club in the world and they contribute nothing to the success of their individual clubs.

Unfortunately the last type of supporters tend to be more vocal and give the impression that all supporters are constantly moaning, which isnt quite the case. Luckily they are in a minority despite the constant moaning they always do.

Great post Joe !!

Tel 1949

Well said Joe.

I think stats lie with Downing and Villa fans will tell you he was awesome in his 2nd season there. BR seems to have a modern approach to getting inside a players head and I think he'll work on Downing as he's a great player when his confidence is high.

PieInTheSkyMan

To be realistic is not moaning and to opine about poor players and bad judgement by management does not make you less of a fan than the ones who can not see the wood for the trees we do not all see things through rose tinted glasses but opinions are opinions at the end of the day we have to get on with it and support who ever represents the reds . ynwa red mick tag

Its natural to have great expections and every year i think we are gonna win the league, but i still think 4th is possible. Take out city,united and chelsea and i think we can easily fight it out for 4th with arsenal and spurs which isnt the impossible.. just hope we dont pip arsenal to 4th and they win the champions league lol..

Don't worry.. They won't :0)

Eds whats the chance of blaszczykowski coming to us? Polish coach announced he's going to england this summer and he's a quality player. {Ed016's Note - Didn't catch the game. Probably not}

Eds do you know what the plan for texiera is ? He will be 20 in January which seems a bit old for the academy,I just wondered if that was only signed to the academy because he was injured

Any info would be great {Ed016's Note - 18, 20, 23 whenever he is ready mate, why would we sign an injured player?}

I think we should take the Real Madrid and Barcelona approach by getting in youth players and keeping them until they are around 23 by keep sending them out on loan that way they keep building on their experience and or if they have the technical ability but not the physical ability like Nemith

I think two great examples of who we should take this approach with in our youth are, Adorjan (who is both technically and mentally sound but not physically up to par) and Joao Teixeira (is probably too good for the reserves and needs experience first)

Players that BR might send on loan to Swansea; Joao Teixeira, Toni Silva, Stephen Sama. as they are all technically ready and the most physically ready that suits Swansea's game. {Ed016's Note - I am sure there are Loan restrictions that PL teams have to follow though.}

He was signed to the academy maybe for the academy....besides Dalglish had no clue who he was and in one of the press conferences where he was asked about Teixeira made that clear.

Why would we sign an injured player ed? Remember Aquilani?

Andy Carroll anyone?

Has ricardo quaresma improved in attitude and on the pitch over the years or is he destined to never live up to the hype he once had? If so has anyone got any interest in him or is he happy in Turkey?

As always amazing work lads, i'm on here constantly! Keep up up :)

He plays for boca juniors now!
