Still prefer Bayern under Heynckes, so much more dynamic.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hugely agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes not overly convinced by bayern
Bit tedious

Would love it if athletico won it

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree mate. Dare I say this but Pep's way of playing slightly bores me. It did at Barca and it does now. Anyone else feel this? Much prefer the way WE are playing that's for sure. Great to see Liverpool this exciting on the pitch!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I totally agree with you guys. I have a burning hatred for all things Barca and said all along that Pep's system was boring to watch, sadly he has taken the same monotonous style to Bayern.}

And as for untied. it reminded me of our game against west ham

Agree0 Disagree0

Robben was there main threat last night due to him been so direct but last season every1 of there player were direct like barca they focus so much on keeping the ball they allow to many people get back and park the bus!

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't stand barca, good team yes, messi, xavi, iniesta all sensational! But the rest of them moan and dive like nothing I've seen before! I've heard people say could they all do it on a cold Wednesday night in Stoke? I think yes because stoke would finish with 7 men, as there would be some European ref that thinks tackling a barca player is a foul. m

Away from lfc. Atletico madrid. What a team. There becoming the barca of 4 years ago

Believable0 Unbelievable0

4 yrs ago Barca were the epitome of possession based football with the cutting edge of lethal finishing. Very dfferent to this Atletico side. They have their own style and philosophy. Simeone is getting the very best out of his squad, much the same way Brendan is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing like Baca, but a lot like Chelsea under Mourinho.

To all those people worrying we were going to finish 4th and man u would win and steal a champions league spot. Stop worrying they're out!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You'r right Mate.
I have been worried sick that the mancs might get lucky but the football genius that is moysie has put paid to all their hopes!
The last results of Everton (now needing to beat City) Chelsea (now playing us in the midst of their 2 leg CL semi and Bayern tonight have been great for us.
5 is a magic number for us and we have just 5 Cup Finals to play.
Just want the lads to win it for the 96, then Captain Fantastic and of course our Club!
2009 Captain

Manchester United fans are calling this 3-1 defeat their game/performance of the season.

01 Sep 2013Winning mentality, we just beat the champions, why not try and aim for top spot? Winning is all about attitude, BR knows this, the aim will be to win it and convince the group that by being together they can achieve greatness. IMO it is way too early for us but you never know. i'm just happy with the improvements we have made and the squad has a good balance. In BR I will always trust. I know I'm a little late, not sure if the extent of hazards injury or even if the LFC V CFC has been rearranged but am I the only one that thinks Chelski getting through last night and playing their CL matches either side of playing us and Hazard getting injured is as close to perfect as it can get?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I worry more about that game than I do the city game to be honest. They know how to play for a draw/close win. I really fancy us against city though I feel a win has been coming for a while against them

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like I wasn't the only one! That will teach me to post before reading what has already been written.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest I agree totally with you Mikey about Chelski. I pray they can raise their game against City! In fact I'm off to go and pray right now.
Dare to dream. YNWA.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard could be fit by then. If we don't beat City, the Chelsea game could become an exercise to see if we finish 2nd or 3rd. So, very important that we keep our focus on the City game now and worry about Chelsea later.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea game could be meaningless (for us) if we don't beat City and Norwich.

Evening All
This site is a breath of fresh air! nice gentle banter, unlike RAWK at the moment, they seem to be in melt down arguing the toss with each other over the merits of the new kits for next season. I don't care what they look like as long as they have the Liver Bird on the chest and the gold patches on the sleeves!
I must be getting old!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't worry about what the strip looks like. The only people that should be seen wearing them are the players and people under 15, IMO :)

Amazing how much fun kits can be if your wife's a manc and you have furry handcuffs plus a little imagination.

Ha nice -logic!

Gotta dominate possession and play from the back!

Sometimes Brendan tells me about the unit and how when the pitch is slippery, if everyone isn't covered in mud, he's not done his job.

Hi to all the Reds fans who've been attending the games and outside Anfield over the last few games. Over the years LFC fans have gained a reputation for their support of the team and I have to say, and I really don't mind how cheesy this sounds, but you're making all of us fans who sadly cannot attend incredibly proud and, win or falter in our quest for the title, I just wanted to take my hat off to you all. You've been amazing and the noise I hear on TV has given me goosebumps. Keep up the great effort!

Ps Sadly, work does not allow for me to attend Anfield but if anyone needs to sell any tickets for the Norwich game I'd happily buy them! :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You do us ALL proud, my fellow redmen.

Just wondering what people's thoughts are on the new 'leaked' home kit?
Not too sure what to make of it myself.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haven`t seen it yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neither have the board yet apparently

Agree0 Disagree0

That is not the new kit. It doesn't fit Warriors style at all. Also the mismatch in colours between the badge and sponsors just shows it was knocked together, in about 5 mins, by an amateur.

Agree0 Disagree0

The red and yellow kits are ok, but the black one reminds me of a Manchester United kit. not good.

Agree0 Disagree0

I stand corrected. What an ugly kit. Why are the crest and sponsors a different colour!?

Hi Eds, just wondering what you think next season holds for these youngsters? Do you think they will be in the squad or still loaned out? Suso, Ebe, Wisdom, Llori, Brad Smith, Teixeira. Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - far too early to tell, and it will be mixed, some will stay, some will go out on loan and others could yet leave permanently.}

On New Years Eve the conversation with my niece's Chelsea supporting boyfriend went like this:

Him: That's it, your lot will dip now and end up in seventh or eighth like last year.
Me: Do you think so? Tell you what, I'm not having my hair cut until Liverpool lose again.

I now look like a tramp and I DON'T CARE!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Looks like you ill be wearing your hair in a pony tail for the next few years then!

Hi Ed, hope your well. just wondering if we actually had genuine interest in Lamela or if it was wishfull thinking at the time?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There was an enquiry made to his agent but it was taken no further - I would expect due to cost.}

Anybody else excited as to who we might buy in the summer?
The top players Rodgers has tried to sign have all turned out top class.
I mean look at willian he's turned out to be a Brazilian version of Henderson very hard worker.

Costa also he was in and out of the Madrid side when falcao was there but Rodgers spotted something in him and look now, top class striker.

I hope we can finally get someone of this quality in this year, one or two top quality players to add to what we have and we'll be unstoppable.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Costa was not in and out last season, he played all season but out on the wing, still scored a decent number of goals though

People keep asking questions about this and that player that Liverpool might be interestet in but the answers are all the same. Liverpool have no interest or similar answers.

What players are Liverpool actually interestet in?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

I posted a summary on the rumors page a week ago fell free to check it out if I get time I will post it again
can any of the eds post it again without me having to send it back?

{Ed002's Note - No, sorry.}

Hi eds
Was just looking for your views on the future of our back line.
Clearly we have a huge amount of defenders especially centre backs with the likes of sama and paez never even mentioned and toure rarely making the squad lately. As we have Kelly, wisdom, ilori and McLaughlin and smith coming up what do you think may happen?
Suppose there isn't much chance of all staying but long term do you think maybe they could stay and be loaned out as out of our current first team only really sakho and flank who are at the younger end.
With wisdom and Kelly able to play full back and centre back, and flanno being able to play both sides and il rio and sakho capable of playing full back do you see any chance of them all staying?
Would be amazing to see a defensive squad filled with Britain talent, flanno, wisdom, Kelly, McLaughlin, jones, smith and even ilori is eligible for England
Any views appreciated
Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I would expect Toure, Sakho, Johnson, Kelly and Flanagan to stay. Coates will certainly leave. Cisskho will go after his loan. Coady may well leave. I don't know about Robinson, Smith, Wisdom, Ilori, McLaughlin or Sama. One or perhaps two of Enrique, Agger and Skrtel may well leave. Apologies if I missed any of them - the club is overloaded with defenders.}

Personally I'd keep agger and skrtel another season. injuries are inevitable so they can rotate with sakho/toure

we are top of the league. if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I would let coates and cissoko go.
we do need a LB though, although I would give enrique a run when fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our current defence will not do very well in Europe I don't think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool are trying to be smarter in the market. I expect Agger, with 2 years on his contract, may move on. If he's not first choice then now is the time to sell. He's 29, had injuries and we have experience in Skrtel, Sakho, Toure. Unless he's proved his fitness Coates will be a loan next year and sold year after for a big loss. Kelly needs to prove his fitness and a decision will be made on Wisdom & Ilori being loaned again or not. I think we will replace Agger with a younger CB and buy a LB.

Agree0 Disagree0

I love Agger as much as the next Red,, but the guy is a liability. He can't make a brew without breaking his leg I'd let him go. Toure is terrible though do I'd dip in the market for a back up center back

Sakho is ready for WAR! Awesome :)

I really like this guy and he has done alright for his first season.

Was it Sydney who suggested there would be a 23 point gap between Liverpool and Manchester United by the end of the season? Fair play to him, he could well be correct.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 points I think he said. Haha

Why does everyone think wisdom is going to be sold? Am I the only one who rates him and thinks he will be vital next season. I think he will be the CB to play alongside Sakho next season or at least the season after that as maybe a loan to a prem team would do him good and him and sakho would be a pairing that would frighten any striker. Please share your opinions

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So you're dropping skrtel for wisdom?. hmmm.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2014 12:41:14
In reply to the original poster, I agree. I think Wisdom is massively under rated on here. He has captained the England national team at every level he has played at. The lad is an absolute unit with pace, power, aerial strength, solid in the tackle and very good with the ball at his feet. His reading of the game is obviously his weakness but you expect that from a 20 year old. Personally I would keep him as a back up, sell Agger and then have Skrtel, Sakho, Wisdom, Ilori and Toure as the 5 main options there with Lloyd Jones and Paez in the reserves in case of an absolute injury melt down. Kelly can play there as well but never rely on an injury prone player.

Wisdom and Ilori will suprise a lot of people if they are given a chance. I just hope they don't both leave for guaranteed first team football.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with you here.
I've always rated and had high hopes for Wisdom.
Got him down as a future Liverpool captain in fact.
Why be linked with Micah Richards when we've got our own younger version?
