Hi gang, I'm hearing reports that Luis Suarez was told
on Saturday that he wouldn't be allowed to bring his
Kids on to the pitch, can any of the EDS enlighten us on
this, who was the disagreement with, was it with the club
or the manager. {Ed002's Note - Perhaps ground staff or security. This really is a who cares thing - but try the conspiracy page if you like.}

ED1 how do you rate brad smith? was playing right forward last nite, used to play left back didn't he? remember hearing he was about to get in to the 1st team when he got injured?thanks {Ed001's Note - I like him a lot, similar to McLaughlin but as a left back, I always thought. He did miss a chance, but I am hopeful he will get another and that Cissokho's loan won't stop him getting a chance when the time comes. I can see him and Robinson fighting it out over the left back berth for years to come.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How is robinson getting on on his loan spell?thanks McLaughlin looks the real deal maybe needs to fill out a bit more, awesome attacking threat {Ed003's Note - Hi Maj being a B'pool fan I've been asked to answer the Q, so like the report I did a couple of weeks back not really much to add, He is learning and learning the hard way in the Championship, the style we now play will only help him on the defensive side in his development,as I've just been saying to Ed 001 in Footie Rumours Towers If I was to be asked if he would become a L'pool regular in the future my answer would be no}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed 001 do you think he has missed a chance would he have got one if fully fit? I suppose my question is do you agree with some of my recent posts that maybe Rodgers has bottled it with the kids this season? {Ed001's Note - he hasn't bottled it, though he is using them more conservatively than before. Rodgers has just moved over to the way most of the bigger clubs now set up. Buy a full squad of players and use youngsters off the bench and to go out on loan to gain their experience. It is not the way I think it should be done, but it is the way the clubs at the top end do it. They don't seem to want to risk throwing kids in at the deep end, they would rather buy ready made talent. The problem is, when we have started with more kids in the side, the results have not been as good as they are now. If Smith had been fit, he would have had a chance, but I doubt he would have been given any more than a few games. Though a couple of good performances would have got him the chance of a higher level loan move, which would improve his game. So it has cost the lad a lot.}

Dont you miss adidas kits. And the normal badge

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not really mate kinda like the old style bage and liking the all red, what about you?

Agree0 Disagree0

The badge we have now is the 'normal badge' the one from the late 60s, 70s and 80s in the clubs most successful era {Ed001's Note - I personally prefer this badge, the Liver Bird is much cleaner and less busy than the one we were using.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play! Personal choice I suppose. I realise that's the original badge or whatever. Maybe its the kit then just something isn't right for me. still they could wear potato sacks and I would still love the team! {Ed001's Note - I don't like the kits, I agree on that, this season's ones are not nice.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll always love the three stripes down the sleeves. crown paints was the best.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's going on with the third strip with all that purple on it? Looks like it was it designed by the same architect as paddy's wigwam?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not even going to lie the third kit has grown on me! {Ed002's Note - Is that like the camp German international kit from 1971?}

mclaughlin from our U-21's is such a quality player. I just can't stop myself from saying this, but I do see a gareth bale in him. he is almost equal to luke shaw (lb at southampton) . albiet I have seen him only for u-21's, but surely he is pure top class quality. we have some good players in our youth setup. for me mclaughlin is the best we have. surely first team break is deserved.
i am sure he will make it soon too.

eagerly waiting for a kid from our academy, run the show in epl after so many years.

Is coutinho valued at about the same as turan? The kids been doing extremely well in the EPL and is only 21. Don't see how his value hasn't tripled since we signed him. I'm pretty certain he won't be leaving us, unless he has some stupid clause. Just curious as to how we value him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think he could be a very good player but he's only been at lfc 10 mins and would need at least 2 seasons under his belt before anyone can say for sure, but at the moment he's prob worth no more than what LFC paid for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Id prefer to keep coutinho tbh this guys guna be on the next level.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd say he's worth at least double the 8 mil we paid for him.

Appy Arry Redknapp has long been the media darling, but I have to admit I just cannot stand the sight of him. I point blank refuse to read the Daily Mail these days, but the snippets I am hearing of his serialised book just stink. He appears to be running the risk of being made to sound like a right whinger. But the media will continue their love-in with him.

To relate this to our own managers of recent years:-

Rafa got repeatedly slated for virtually everything he ever did (and yes, I loved Rafa for his quirkiness, mountain of sugar, anyone, milkman and milk?). But he hardly ever got a fair deal from the media. In my opinion his sheer stubborn 'foreignness' put him at odds with the press, to such a point where it contributed to his eventual downfall, especially due to the reporting of the rant (which never was).

Roy was liked but was too insipid for my liking and just came across as too nice (and Alex's mate). At least he got a fair representation from the media.

Kenny was of course a legend, and was treated pretty well until the Suarez fiasco, when he was left high and dry by the club, made some poor choices, and eventually got made to look like a dinosaur. He became more and more battered by his treatment, making a series of ill-advised comments which almost made him seem unhinged. The reporting contributed to his eventual downfall too.

Which brings me to Brendan. He is by far the smoothest of this four, but he is too often guilty of conflicting comments, by saying too much too often. At the moment he gets a decent hearing as he is good for the media as he is giving them plenty of column inches by his numerous statements. I hope he continues to get a good press, but when the time is right he will need to be careful with his too-regular contributions. He doesn't have the media-likeability of Arry, or the fear-factor of Fergie. He will hopefully steer clear of controversy, because having the press on your side is an important part of our potential success. Without it you can get marginalised and we as a club could fall back into the categorisation of 'whinging Scouser' and 'Scouser as Victim' that has plagued us for years.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well fergie had the major sports editors and fa like lapdogs so yes it was easy for previous Liverpool managers to be treated poorly by the press. but all managers get a bit of that. even harry has had it at times

Liverpool welcomes back a old friend, a legend, and a King. Kennys reign may well be remembered more by some for the unsuccessful signings and the failure to get us into Europe's elite competition, but here's a man who really lives and breathes Liverpool Football Club. In fact, looking back at his time back at the helm, we managed 2 trips to Wembely and 1 piece of silverware which is something we went over 5 years without. So football these days, do you get remembered for finishing in fourth, or winning silverware? Ask any Wigan fan what they'd rather, the disappointment of dropping down a league or the ecstasy of beating the premier league champions in the last minute of a FA Cup final? We all want it all but what would we take have the choice.

Sometimes we want to much, i'm not saying it was the right or wrong decision to let Kenny move on. Maybe the way it happened I would wish it be a little less of a kick in the b******* but it was clear that FSG had a vision and Kenny wasn't part of it 'for now'. The front of house role or the manager of a football club is the leading role, something I believe wasn't utilizing Kennys skills. His skills are with the academy and overseeing them which is something I think he will keep doing as a director. What he will bring in the backroom is experience but most of all passion and love for our club as will Macca, Jones and Fowler. Everyone though seems behind Brendan every step of the way and are behind what he is trying to build here, a identity.

Never would I kncok Kenny for the commitment he has shown with our great club, I would actually like to highlight his achievements and congratulate him on coming back home.

Welcome back King Kenny

I am absolutely gutted Kenny has agreed to come back tbh, gutted!

Agree0 Disagree0

We can always count on you Waro.

Agree0 Disagree0

Waro.

Why do you say that? Mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Phooey, He was treated disgustingly IMO by these owners and I would have liked to see him tell them to shove there offer where the sun doesn't shine, but I guess his love for the club transcends any ill feeling.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was treated badly but I would say he was treated more badly by the fans, he came back on a short term contract to help pull club together with the intention of a younger manager taking over as per the owners plan . However after a couple months the clamour from fans put FSG on the back foot where they could see no other option but to give him a contract, those of us with long memories knew this would end in failure as his last couple of seasons ( 89-90 and 90 -91 ) seen some awful players and lots of defensive performances from him . He should have left Liverpool after steadying the ship instead of suffering the torture he went through it was always going to end in him being sacked, and that should never happen to a legend

Agree0 Disagree0

Waro.
I thought that's what you meant. I to can be like that! But I'm glad he didn't cut his nose off to spite his face.

K.D. should grow a pair, and tell the club and half the fans to go and f*** themselves,

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Kenny is big enough of a man to get past it and do what he believes is the best for the club, like he has always done.

Hi Ed's, Has Joao Teixeira returned from loan at Brentford? He played as a sub in the U21's yesterday? {Ed002's Note - I think you have answered your own question.}

We've seen a few coaching additions lately; Critchley, Jones, Fowler and Macmanaman. Does anyone know if BR is planning on bringing in an extra coach to the first team set up?

Also we really need to improve our defending of set pieces. Way too many goals conceded from set pieces so far this season. If we don't sort it it will cost us.

Hello Eds and fellow Reds, great win by he U21 team, I just have a question. What happened to Texeira's loan? Didn't he go to Brentford? I'm happy he's back, I was just wondering. Does anyone know?

YNWA {Ed002's Note - It didn't work out. After a couple of attempts from the bench Brentford did not see him as quite ready for the Championship.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thank you Ed002, great job on the site BTW! Appreciate all your guys' input and hard work. {Ed002's Note - I suspect that the rough and tumble of the Championship were not for him. That is the implication from UR when asked this morning.}

Oh cheers ed. Quick google search tells me he's the Brentford manager so that info is straight from the horses mouth. God I love this site. Cheers Ed.

YNWAdam

P.s. not sure if its my phone or not, but the site has been automatically logging me out on my mobile recently. It is saying Log in at the top again so I think it has just done it when I clicked to reply. {Ed001's Note - what phone are you using? I will get that looked at.}

Hi Ed, its a samsung galaxy. I'm pretty sure its the S3 mini although I don't know for sure. Definitely an android though. Cheers.

YNWAdam {Ed001's Note - which version? 4.2?}

Eds I have a problem the box I am using to type this now where I can't see the whole box as it appears too big for the screen and I can't zoom out or even scroll to see it. I can see all the box the my phone is landscape but then can only see the top few lines. HTC ONE SV {Ed002's Note - I knew a girl like that once.}

So if he can't make it in the championship be tougher in the PL not looking good for the lad
