I had a strange dream the other night.
I was playing for Liverpool on a Sunday, we had 3 games that day, ALL against Chelski. I was filling in for Lucas in the holding midfield role and doing a damn good job if I do say so myself! We won all three games (sorry, I can't remember the scores) and everyone was happy with my performance.
That said, I obviously should be good enough to cover for Lucas, and I don't mind playing. I am on call 1 in every 4 weeks though so I might have to leave a game early or arrive late sometimes. Just tell Kenny to let me know what times he needs me and I'll try my best.
True dream though..!

Myk
(just thought I'd give everyone something else to read other than the repetitive driffle that some people post)

WTf!

Lol mate, i have one of these dreams atleast once a month. I usually play in strike and scoring at the kop end is amazing, I can hear the fans chanting my name as I get subbed to be rested for the next game, with King Jenny whispering "well done son" in my ear It feels sooo real and then you wake up and realise it was just a dream :(
If it can't happen in reality, atleast we can dream about it!

LFC 2929

I meant King Kenny* (damn predictive text)

LFC 2929

Great dream mate.
Regards Shankly's Red Army.

PS, ha, ha, I personally dream of rolling around on the turf in front of the Kop.
Its sacred ground!

I dream a lot I'm playing for Liverpool No 9,
and I'm banging them in there all night. I always wake up with a huge squiffy though.

R eh eds, {Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure most of the fans are not interested in your homo-erotic fantasies about being a Liverpool supporter.}

I had a dream the other night with a documentary style feel to it about Dalglish. It was totally weird besides the end when he just walked out his front door and started having a knockabout with the kids on the street, pretty old school. Sadly had a 'memorial' feel to it at the end though. Anyways, I play left wing. Downing can shift to the right.

Question for the eds:

Suarez has been charged with racial abuse, so when is the hearing and have they got concrete evidence or is it evras word against his.

Also how come Terry hasnt been charged by the FA yet, as anton took it further and last i heard the police were investigating it.

BigD

{Ed002's Note - The last I heard was that the FA were awaiting to hear from Suarez as to whether or not he would request a personal hearing. I suspect that you misunderstand the involvement of teh police in the Terry situation.}

Ok thanks for filliing me in on Suarez, but what evidence have they got on Suarez? so what is happening with Terry ed002

Thanks BigD {Ed002's Note - It really is not a matter for discussion here. The Terry situation is entirely different and the police are involved because a member of the public made a complaint.}

Moussa Sissoko, De Jong, Podolski, Hazard, Soldado, Muniain. Any updates on these players Ed? Do any off these look anymore likely to join Liverpool as we speak?

Kam {Ed002's Note - There is no chance of Hazard. None look anymore likely than they did before. De Jong is the most likely.}

My Team Vs Qpr:

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Bellamy Adam Henderson Downing
Suarez Carroll

Were at home so we should be going all out attack, so dont need a defensive midfielder in the team, and Carroll has to be given game time sooner rather than later as Suarez will be suspended as the FA dont like him.

BigD

Im not a Carrol basher, but I think he should start on the bench. We should start with maxi in a 4-3-3 and bring Andy in in the later stages if all is going well. He needs game time I agree but we need goals first and foremost

Myk

But Myk were not scoring any fecking goals whatever formation we play!

----------Adam----------

Why would Suarez be dropped to the bench? I think we should play more attacking football, on the attack let Johnson and Enrique venture along the wings to overpower their back line

---------------Reina---------------
Johnson--Skrtel--Agger--Enrique
---Henderson--Adam--Shelvey---
-----------Bellamy--Maxi------------
---------------Suarez---------------

Really would like to see Shelvey.

Oh I see what you did, a Christmas tree formation for December, very tactical!

Ed which position or positions will liverpool look to strengthen in Jan? I hear talk about nother striker but we have 4already (agreed there are firing blanks). Another striker woould surely mean less game time for Carroll or Bellamy. I would have thought a DM to fill in for Lucas and a winger to help create chances for the strikers. Can you please shed some light on this?

Kam {Ed002's Note - These questions are answered everyday - please read the posts. Dalglish answered the DM question as well.}

Off to Anfield this weekend for my first game of the season and can't wait to see the lads in action, have a few beers and sing a few songs! Hope there is a bit of banter about Man Utd.

My reply to an earlier post got me thinking. What previous LFC player would you bring to our current side, to fill in the current weak areas e.g my natural goal scorer would be Fowler (Bleach blonde era lol) opinions eds too. All the best.

KNEE JERK

I was going to say kenny in his prime but I think right now we need a goal scorer more than anything else. So it has to be rush.

MIKEY

Fair comment Mikey, i think we are showing our ages as a young lad i found god my earliest proper memory of Rush was the 92 f.a cup final against Sunderland.All the best.

KNEE JERK

Ian rush. around the 300 goal mark, may never see this achieved again at lfc. nuff said

I will get slaughtered by yous for saying this but I have feeling the Carroll of today would link up well with Owen in his prime...

I would be happy with both Rush or Fowler. But with Lucas and Stevie being out for a while, i'd ask Souness to stick the boots back on. On one condition, he gets rid of the perm. You couldn't have him and Flalenni in the same league, never mind city. There's not enough VO5 styling gel, to go around.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

It has to be Rushie with Aldo a very close second. Both lethal clinical marksmen.

Heskey is different from Carroll

I'm with the above, Souness or Rush.
It's about time we had a 'tache in the team.
We've been 'tache-less for too long !
The Real KB

If we had a 21 y/o Fowler in our side we would be top of the league.

It's got to be Rush or Fowler. Just a natural goal poacher

weather warning m62 towards manchester closed because of gale force laughter from around the country

I would have John Barnes in his prime. He guaranteed us goals and created chances. He could whip it in for Carroll aswell as thread through for Suarez. If only. Bleach blonde Fowler is not a bad shout either

Thats where people get it wrong, players (by players i mean star players, eye candy) that we get should fit the club and not have to get other players for that player to get great because it messes with team dynamics by conflicting philosophies, unless you plan on changing philosophies all together. so in a sense if we get someone to supply carroll in jan like we have done in the summer (hendo and downing) would mean Carroll's overall cost isn't just 35m, meaning that there would be more of a strain on finances paying to bring out Carroll's "Potential" than for instance buying a 30m Gonzalo Higuain on double wages.

Just a thought

100% agree with the post above. The "Andy Carroll adventure" will end up costing us a fortune.

Ash

Can someone give Ash a nudge he seems to be stuck on a loop.

Starting XI:
------------Reina----------------
Kelly-Agger-SAMBA-Enrique
Glen-Lucas-Gerrard-HAZARD
-------HULK-----------------------
----------------Suarez-----------

Sub XI :
-------------Doni------------------
-Flan-Skrtel-Carra-Robinson-
Maxi-Adam-Hendo-Downing
------Bellamy--Carroll----------

Out:
Kuyt: 4m
Aurellio: 1m
Aquilani: 5m
J.Cole: Part of Hazard Deal.
--------------------
Shelvey: Loan
Coates: Loan
Shelvey: Loan

In:
Hazard: 32.5m + J.Cole
Samba: 12m
Hulk: 35m

Loses: 69.5 - 10 =
60 Million....

This would in my opinion put us easily into top 3.

Paul.

New to this site?

You joking 32.5 for hulk am i right to think porto have already turned down a similar bid or is this just me?

jayblair89

Porto turned a bid down of about 70m for hulk from anzhi in the summer so we would never get him for 32 million

And it seems Hazard had no interest in coming to LFC.
The Liver Bird

Or it could mean that the player told porto no.

if suarez got charged for finger incident, i think clubs should get fined for when supporters throw objects at players which is far more dangerous.

ED001, what was the last LFC match you went to just out of curiosity?

Stu. {Ed001's Note - it's been a while now, hence why I started the site, I moved away and didn't have the money or the time to go and my daughter was on her way. I can remember the last game I was due to go to before moving, I am still bitter about the game being postponed because Di died. It would have been the last home game before then though, I just can't think who it was. To be honest I used to get so nervous I was physically sick afterwards, I was never able to just relax and enjoy the games. I can only remember certain things about matches, jumping up and down and hugging random people after Fowler scored that last second goal in the second 4-3 with Newcastle. How bad Leeds were against us in '92, then how well United played yet lost the following game to hand the title to Leeds and the fantastic atmosphere that day. And my first game, we lost and my uncles blamed me, called me a Jonah and wouldn't let me have me tea! Sorry I was rambling on hoping I could remember who it was we played in the last game I actually got to see us in. It might have even been a reserves match.}

When di died it was the Liverpool vs Newcastle game that was postponed,it was on a Sunday

No worries, nice to hear you've been to a few of the classics!

Stu.

Hey eds and reds do you think coady may get his chance this saturday? If not then who do you think will play? Thanks

Ghandi Floss {Ed001's Note - impossible to say, Kenny will do what he wants, but I would expect Shelvey to be ahead of him in the pecking order myself.}

Hendo Adam
Maxi Shelvey Downing
Suarez

Well thats what I would do.

Thanks for the reply Ed. Its just as it has been said, shelvey is definitely not a defensive player so will he be able to do the job?

Ghandi Floss

Hope we see a 5 man midfield of Kuyt, Adam, Maxi, Henderson, Shelvey.
Suarez up top.

The Liver Bird

Downing must play. Only winger we have. Maxi & Kuyt can compete for RM imo. I think Kenny will play 4-4-2 with Suarez & Carroll again. It looked like it is starting to come together last game.

Adrian Durham is plain stupid. His argument that the seeding is wrong in the champions league is severely flawed. What did the mancs do with an easy group? Exactly. Manchester City have absolutely no pedigree in Europe and did not win their league so it stands to reason they should not be seeded highly. He has a major problem with Apoel, and I just don't understand this. They won their league.

When you look at why we are son followed throughout the world, I would say a large part of our international following was garnered through our European exploits. If teams like Apoel are not applauded for their efforts, and don't do well in competitions how will they grow. Without City style money. Pure elitism

Anyway, how does this apply to the Liverpool forum? He accused Kenny of making a fool out of himself by suggesting the FA are a little hypocritical. He reckons Kenny is embarrassing himself because his argument is flawed.

Take a look at yourself Durham. Fool

D-Day (1982)

Durham is an idiot... If they ain't good enough to get out of the group stages, they ain't good enough to win the tournemant... Case closed!

Myk

He's just an annoying arse. Wish Carra had decked him one when he accused him of being a bottler!

Durham just says dumb stuff just to get a reaction sometimes. Needs to engage his brain before putting his big mouth into operation!

Hi Ed's, I have come to the conclusion that this is the only football site I can trust, the general consensus is that what you say, happens, whereas on other sites, they seem to be invented and run by chipmunks. Cheers for being so accurate. Much appreciated!

Listen, no one made Suarez give the Fulhams fans the bird. He did it of his own free will. I love his passion & his desire but I would have to say his judgement is a bit lacking in certain areas. Kenny will always back his players but I'm sure he will be having a word in his shell like. First the racism thing, now this. He's no good to us sitting in the stands. He did come with a bit of a reputation of being a bit nuts & he hasn't done much to make people beleive he's changed. Just concentrate on the footie Luis.

The Irish Rover

I think the fa is just jealous of how good suarez is

He was only telling the Fulham fans what the final score was - 1 : 0

Irish rover,check a bit deeper into Suarez.biting incident was the only crazy thing for me.look at the reception he got from the Ajax fans when he left,check out the stuff he did with the underprivileged at wc2010.he's been unreal for us,no matter what the game he gives 100 percent.if he makes a good run and gets a poor pass he'll turn around and applaud the player for trying.any comments he makes about the club or any of the players are invariably positive.the British media see him as a paper seller at the moment so he's gettin a hard time our fans always look beyond that nonsense like we did with rafa.were v lucky to have him Yosser

I have long given up on trying up comparing how the FA deals with Man Utd compared to everybody else. I pay little attention to old whiskey nose these days because quite frankly he bores me. I did catch a bit of one of his recent after match interviews during which he was quite blatantly critical of the referee. (sorry cant even remember which game- norwich? newcastle?) I bet we'll be waiting a long time before the FA charge him on that one.
United have been probably been the worst offenders over the years when it comes to failing to control their players and them harassing the referee so this latest charge against LFC is a little hard to swallow.

The Liver Bird

If the FA are to continue charging players brought about by media obsevations why don't they be more evenly minded and look at the blatant fouls on Surez and the incident with Bellamy. Rilse openly said in the media that Fulham had gone all out to upset him and wind him up. With the Fulham players and Fans constaantly abusing him the whole of the match it is no wonder he snapped, in my opinion he reacted out of sheer frustration, which he must learn to deal with surely this is mitigating circumstaces and KK is right more protection should be given to players constantly being abused. Rooney pleaded mitigating circumstances for a blatant foul and the FA backed him where is the mitigating circumstaces here It's a pity the FA wasn't more consistant. Join the FA fan blog and voice your opinions directly to them, they probably won't bother to read them though. Bobbinred

Ronaldo got banned for sticking his fingers up. Neville kissed his crest and gets banned. Keane got banned for the same tackle on two different occasions. The FA told the club if they banned Cantona internally after kicking that fan they wouldn't and then after we dropped him for the remainder of the season, the FA threw another ban on top. Rio misses a drugs test and was banned for 8 months. Mutu tests positive for coke and gets 6 months. Rooney gets banned for cursing into a camera. The following week both Crouch and Davies are seen cursing while on camera and nothing happens. But its all a witch hunt to ban Suarez and stop Liverpool getting the top 8 spot. Boo Hoo

So is BOO HOO your name or is that your reaction to your little midweek break to Switzerland and you don't have the b***s to put your name to that?

Shaqiris is the player liverpool need to move the team forward

watching him last night has convinced me that liverpool must break the bank to get him
forget david villa and all the other players being mentioned

he will make andy carrol and swarez tick

his vision and first time passes will transform this team

no disrespect to lucas and adams but this lad in the final third is devastating

its what liverpool are crying out for a injection of pace to the midfield
not spending 30 million quid on the likes of david villa

we have enough quality in the team we just need some exciting energy

That Shaquiri fella looked a bit plump !
Played well though.
The Real KB

We need a proper goalscorer, shaquiri is a fine player but its not what we need, bob paisleys skids

I think he's just solid. Probably needs to be since he's wee.

Rugby Parker

We need a RM and a CF. Shaquiri for RM would do nicely.

He did ok, be he certainly wasn't "devastating". He was caught in possession a few times and sometimes a bit greedy but I won't judge him on one game. I've watched him before -and he looks decent- but I can't make mind up on what I've seen.

Rigsby.

IF liverpool dont sign him barcalona real madrid or even the mancs will get him
I rate him that highly he will undoubtably be the next big star on the world scene
the kids got everything
unstopable with a rolls royce engine
the lads not plump hes built like a sprinter
impossible to knock off the ball great vision and most importantly hes world class
the best prospect in years according to steven gerrard on twitter

Can't wait for Stevie to make his come back, he's like a No. 8, 9 and 10 rolled into one tenacious player of immense quality. Certain games this season we could have really done with him, he would have made the difference for sure. Even Gerrard at 80% coming on for 30 minutes can be deverstating to the opposition.

I believe that the premier league is becoming a very weak league in Europe. We are well behind the spanish and german leagues. One reason is that the fa are gutless and there is a vendetta towards players from different countries like suarez who is one of the best players in the world and if not careful will force him out of England and other players will look at our league and say no chance.

Also our players technical ability are well behind other countries.

Mighty reds

Totally agree. Are the FA going to protect players like Suarez. If not players of this calibre will move abroad where refs do their job properly? {Ed002's Note - They could tape his fingers together or make him wear mittens - that should protect him from another charge.}

LOL. Good idea ED. I will pass this info onto Kenny.

Bottom line is the refs did their job properly with regards Suarez. The problem is they are inconsistant and not being as harsh with players from other teams.

Yup, EPL the toughest league my arse its where people come to retirer, get away with murder and yet call for heads when another player does the exact same thing out of spite.

08 Dec 2011 18:12:23
sent this email to FA. I have had enough...

Please do something about the very poor standard of refereeing. I watch German football and it is such a high standard in comparison.

As a neutral the referree on Monday night Liverpool v Fulham was awful. Obviously this guy is not up to premier league standards and should be demoted asap. And to Charge Suarez for the finger gesture is unfair after the way he was treated in that game by Fulham fans and players.

Let me summarise my concerns about monday night

Are the FA charging fulham for the head but on Bellamy?

Are the FA charging the ref for abysmal refereeing?

Are the fulham fans being charged for abuse against Suarez?

Is the ref being charged for disallowing a PERFECT suarez goal?

Are the FA going to protect players like Suarez from being ELBOWED in the face. If not players of this calibre will move abroad were refs do their job properly?

We need to bring in refs from abroad if the ones here are not up to standard. Fans will not put up with displays such as that by Mr friend for long.

Please sort it out.

Steve068

There are few off ball tackle referee didnt do nothing about it. not even a word to the player who do it. Fulham player shouting on suarez infornt of referee after he fall in a foul. and referee have no word.

Ed,

Why don't you post the rules of the site on here. It would help if posters knew the consequences and lengths of bans. Or are all bans forever. I've seen some dodgy posts here recently and nothing happens and others banned. Is it at the discretion of each Ed or does 001 control it all. Your like the FA, no consistency. Maybe introduce a tab that has an offender list and length of ban would be good.

Confused. {Ed002's Note - Given that most posters are like you, anonymous, there is little point in an offenders list. The bans last a couple of days or so or are permanent. It is up to the individual Editors who to ban. I am entirely fickle and much depends on my mood. I have absolutely no qualms about banning anyone who pisses me off just make the banning quotas Ed001 imposes on us.}

Quotas Eh? Maybe an avatar for each Eds mood then. Give 009 a smiley face cos he's always happy

Confused .......... Still {Ed002's Note - The reason Ed009 seems happy is no more than a touch of wind.}

do u ppl on here know anything about Football for all of u that said Aqualini not worth bringing back are u thick or what that guy is class he can unlock defences with passes then agen the english just like it fast lob run like hell attitude. {Ed002's Note - He will not be coming back at all. He is gone for good.}

If he loved LFC im sure 99% of fans would have him back but as he cant be apsed with england and wants to play in Italy why would we want him back he would never give us 100% plus he cries like a bitch and misses training because its to tough for him

MJ

You obviously know very little about football and are definitely thick. I'm not quite sure how to explain this to you in words of 2 syllables or less in a way that you may finally grasp...
HE DOESNT WANT TO PLAY IN ENGLAND
With this in mind can you tell me how he would be a good player for us?

Chris in Tamworth

He's a powder puff player, who has been a drain on our club. He's been happy to sit out his fat contract, and dont be fooled by his pitter patter passes, better suited to the Italian league. All the best.

KNEE JERK

Do we know anything about football?? Aqua is very average, that's the reason we do not want him, juventus did not want him for about 10 mil and the same reason ac Milan don't want him for cash and why he doesnt start for italy, he is only decent when he has time, which is the same as any pro footballer, he has very little ability to create space for himself, we paid way to much for him, I swear people need to stop you tubing people and thinking there scouts, get a grip and get back in your armchair.

Did people not take this in 4 months ago.
AQUALANI DOESNT WANT TO PLAY FOR US!!

LAVERS

Aquilani? No way is he coming back. He was treated shockingly when he came and couldn't wait to leave when he got the chance.

If you knew anything pal you would know that he can't hack the league.

DaveyBootle

Why he came here in the first place ill never know - from day one showed no heart, not to mention that his eyes are far too close together.

The reason Aquilani doesn't want to play in England is because the pace of the game is too fast for him. He was struggling to find fitness so Hodgson did a smart move in loaning him out to Juventus to try get a sale but of course, Dalglish couldn't sell him and ended up going on loan once more with an end product of a games-played condition where if he plays 25 games or more then Liverpool have to sell him for aroun 6 million euros.

Hey lads, I honestly don't see how ye can mock United for being knocked out of the Champions League when Liverpool were too s**t to even qualify for the Europa

Well, it has taken you nearly 16-hours to come up with that little masterpiece, well done. Perhaps you should show some pride for your work next time and leave a name.

JRG

"We know we are not in it either but those vermins have been mocking us for crashing out as if THEY were forever immune from such an occurence. What's worse, they didn't crash out because they suck, they crashed out because they took the competition for granted...routinely rotated out their best players along the way because they just assumed qualification was a birth right.

Remember Istanbul at half time? WE were in the final, not them...yet at half time, the whole wormy manc nation was practically out on the streets and on their little computer keyboards laughing at us because we got to the final and were looking like we were getting smoked. Didn't stop them that they were watching from home, did it?

I realize there is always one or two who get on some moral high horse to remind us we are not in it and shouldn't be laughing....but these are our most bitter rivals. It actually sounds dumb to suggest we can't enjoy this moment of their total devastation."

Quoted from the official LFC forum page. Says everything that need to be said. We have had stick from them about the Europa League so it's great to give them a taste of their own medicine... You know - I almost felt it was a shame that they were knocked out, then I watched that cocky manager of theirs in an interview after their home match against FC Basel - 'Struggling?... in Europe? You're serious?!" and then walks off - for that moment alone...LMFAO at him having to eat humble pie was 200% worth it!

SingRed

I think kd said it

Ross

Id love to hear more stories of the kind of stuff that was going on at half time 05 regarding gloating mancs etc...

It will be really interesting to see the level of support that turns out at the Tardis for their first Europa league game!

Ed help me out mate did I get all the facts right.
FA THE english FA goes to uefa and ask for ronnys ban to be reduced to 2 matches for a blatent agressive offence on other player where if I am right they pointed out he was frustrated.
Then they charge suarez and other players of different things and want to set good standards for all to follow.
But I guess hypocracy is a word FA does not know.(like I don't know spelling).

Red indian {Ed002's Note - It is a pointless exercise in comparing one offence with another.}

I'm an arsenal fan and I wanted to say this...
If it was heskey that did the same thing would we appeal ? We know rooney is in the wrong does he deserve it yes we should be role model's and say "rooney what you did was bad and there is not a way out of it " because at the end of the day if it was heskey we would not care!

RED INDIAN
i disagree with the editor lad, its not about comparing offenses/both were straight red card offenses/ both carry 3 game ban end of story or so every one else thought, if rooney had off punched the man what would of happened? kicking a player from behind when the ball has gone is far far worse than spearings tackle, the ball was there to be won he won it and dembele ran into the tackle/ in fact dembele did get a knock but you can try all you want but you will never be able to avoid the player because he was already moving to the ball that had been tackled and was gone a second or a half a stride before, it could of been a foul but i dont think after watching it a million times it is a foul, but rooney did not try to kick the ball in any way just the player in real life that is an assault no two ways about it, so why has his ban been reduced to two games? there is NO leagal case for them doing so, on WHAT grounds was the appeal based on, NO mitigation exists for rooney as he has a history of doing this sort of thing, you have to ask yourself WHY? something has to be done it needs challenging at the law courts the F.A are as bent as F.I. F.A and it cant continue like this WE are treated like singing FOOLS. bob paisleys skids {Ed002's Note - Firstly not all red cards result in three game bans automatically. Secondly an appeal process exists and any punishment may be appealed. Finally, what exactly are you suggesting is challenged in the law courts?}

Mr ed002 everyone is here is making a valid point> do u mean we should not even discuss about it. U won't involve much when repeated questions are asked, Why involve now. As a LFC fan it pains when FA is treating us like this. Any way we don't have unlimited resources like ur plastic club have to buy FA and referees.
Abhi {Ed002's Note - It is a pointless and fruitless activity to make comparisons involving different organizations and different punishments.}

EDD
the F.A should be taken to court for asking/backing rooney because it was a disgrace and not in the interest of football, and several other players have been banned for three games for tackles NOT assaults and dont patronize me mate im not a divi,and also a straight RED card IS a three match ban, bob paisleys skids {Ed002's Note - If someone is collecting the most nonsensical quotes on here then "the FA should be taken to court for asking/backing rooney because it was a disgrace ... " yadda yadda will be top of the list. I have no idea what a "divi" is so it is a waste of my time answering that. Judging by you knowledge, or lack of it, of the game with respect to red cards, the rest of your post pales in to insignificance.}

My names 1732 by the way,
1732(arsenal fan)

EDD
you are thick or winding me up, the f a. and fifa are bent, i think there should be a court or body we can take grievances to for blatent unjust decisions like this or for showing favoritism like this incident some one totally independent to the football authorities,if you were on the end of rooneys boot and watched him get preferential treanment i think you would be slightly unhappy by the way manc you should go on your page and leave us in peace.bob paisleys skids {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are complaining about but clearly your ability to write joke posts (which I assume this is meant to be) seems to be on the wane. The underlying problem is that you simply cannot see beyond a red card being an automatic three game ban - so until you can improve your knowledge of the rules of the game, that blindness and your paranoia will continue to cause you to type this drivel. I assume by "manc" you are suggesting that I am a Mancunian. Only a "divi" would think that.}

To the Arsenal fan what are you on about, HESKEY is the best player the world has ever seen

EDD
your a whopper,has your mum forgot to pack your butties? straight red is automatic 3 game ban BUT you can appeal two yellows followed by red is one game ban no right of appeal UNLESS you play for man utd, then the rules become blurred, a manc is a man u fan to a scouser lad, you cant say a persons post is not worth talkng about as in the original poster it is of interest to liverpool fans im sure, bob paisleys skids {Ed002's Note - You have to be kidding. Nobody can be this stupid.}

Must be stupid being on here writing to a 9 stone gimp with glasses and spots, bob paisleys skid {Ed002's Note - What I truly find strange though is your complete inability to accept that you are wrong because it completely fouls up your case over the FA and FIFA conspiring in some way. If you realy do not understand the punishments associated with red cards and the appeals process, then man up and ask. I will be more than happy to explain it to you. And they are only reading glasses so it shouldn't be a big deal if you decide to move on from abuse and beat me up.}

This should clear this little tiff up.....

UEFA rules state:
Article 21
Yellow and red cards
21.01 As a rule, a player who is sent off the field of play is suspended for the next match in a UEFA club competition. The Control and Disciplinary Body is
entitled to augment this punishment. For serious offences the punishment
can be extended to all UEFA competition categories.

FA rules state:
PLAYERS SENT OFF UNDER LAW 12 (1), (2) AND (3)
A Player who is dismissed from the Field of Play for Violent Conduct, Serious Foul Play or spitting at an opponent or any other person, whether he has previously been cautioned in the match or not, will be suspended automatically from all Club football, except for any
match sanctioned or regarded by The Football Association as a Friendly Match, including non-First Team matches commencing forthwith and until such time as his Club's First Team has completed its next three matches in approved Competitions.

hope this helps.
davethebutcher {Ed002's Note - It won't help him I am afraid Dave as it fouls up his conspiracy theory. Handball and professional fouls etc will all have to be raised to three game bans to keep him happy. Fortunately he seems to have nodded off at the moment.}

Is this for real? Seems very out of character for Bobpaisleyskids. If it's a deliberate mick-take joke, it's the least entertaining i've seen. Maybe BPK is Sir Alex X in disguise... now THERE'S a conspiracy theory!

Rugby Parker

EDD so you are a spotty 9 stoner? i never said there was a conspiracy between the F A and FIFA i said they were both bent, and i stand by that, ROONEY VIOLENTLY KICKED an opponent with no intention of contacting the ball, several players have had a straight red for border line tackles and had 3 game ban the F A have not stood by them and asked or demanded preferential treatment WHY should rooney? go on explain this, never mind calling me stupid and dont know the rules, EVERYONE should get the same treatment end of, like shanks said the trouble with referees is they know the rules but they dont know football, do you fit into this category? rooneys kick was violent conduct and can not be defended by you or the F A, bob paisleys skids {Ed002's Note - I have not defended anyone or anything. I was simply stating that your post was utter drivel and contained inaccuracies about the rules. Suck it up and move on.}

This is apiece that was took from a very long boring list of rules English Premier League there is an automatic three-match ban, although players can appeal against this. Because they are so powerful, red cards are reserved for very bad behaviour such as violence, abuse or deliberate cheating. bob paisleys skids

The Stone Roses (life long Utd fans) turned up to play at the JFT96 gig the other night, and made some good comments after. I've decided to cut them some slack today. Still, FA cup to look forward to.

Liverpool go for it. the money will not waste like Carroll.

If we did not buy carrol we could have got hazard for about 25m max back then or gotze for like 15m {Ed002's Note - But neither want to join Liverpool.}

Hi Eds or anyone else for that matter! I've just had a reply on Twitter saying that you can retrospectively hand out cards to players after the match, if the ref had incorrectly not done it during the game! Is this true, as if Dempsey should have had a red card for his headbutt, he wouldn't have been on the pitch to score the goal? Should senderos not have a red card as well, after getting at least a second yellow? I can't see how this can be true, but willing to be told otherwise! If it was true, wouldn't the FA be inundated with requests and need to triple their staffing levels to cope? Might make the refs more accountable though!

Keith {Ed002's Note - The FA can retrospectively take action for something a referee missed in a game, but it does not make any difference to the result.}

Thanks Ed002 for the clarification, I thought they could only do things due to mistaken identity!

Keith

Hi! What i would want to comment on is about Andy Carroll's lack of getting goals. I think the big lad is trying too hard to prove to the fans what he is capable of and so therefore leading to over confidence. Big Andy will come good but if and only if he relaxes and calm his nerves and play his normal game. What do u guys think? Felmil. Ghana.

GARY NEVILLE
any one else on here surprised by devil boys attitude and knowledge also total honesty? i find myself thinking i dont hate this creature,! wow is it possible to forgive ANYTHING in life i ask myself, then i think back to old traffarm when he ran the full length of the pitch to insult me and the other 10 thousand redmen and how i felt then,and actually saying he hates liverpool and everything about it, the fans the people everything! hmmm nar i still hate him with a passion, RAT BOY is just that RAT BOY, i maybe can agree with him on some subjects but it will always be in my head never ever to fade away some things are unforgivable, bob paisleys skids

You have to give him his dues , hes honset and tells it how it is , glad andy gray is not on............lfc

Credit where its due though, hes a good pundit.

I have said he is totally honest BUT its early days, i have a long memory bob paisleys skids

The man tars people with one brush and therefore should not be on tv.

I'm sorry guys but i just HATE the guy I can't help it.

I have to turn over when he appears. All that line on his head is missing is some sort of starfish. Then you'd see it move when he talks.

D-Day (1892)

Never thought id say this but i actually like him as a pundit. He is brutally honest and you have to respect that

Haha, He's Actually part scouse! it was on a league of your own!

Welsh Red

Could not stand him as a Man Utd player and was all ready to stop watching any match he was in the studio for, but he surprised me a lot.
Very unbiased view of every game so far. He's also not one of these ex-player pundits that referes to we instead of they when making a comment about a former club.
Also, had to lover the A League of Their Own episode where they uncovered the fact he has roots from Liverpool.
Classic!! {Ed002's Note -

It seems sky preffer more Nevell and less Jamie ( rednapp )..
I here was me once thinking Rednapp will take over R Keys.
Then again Jamie might be getting trained up and the new Keys & grey maybe Rednapp & Nevell

Yep, I'd go along with the general tone here. Rat boy has been astonishing. I was all set to hate every blatantly biased word he uttered then, blow me, he comes out with loads of sensible, credible and honest comments, then to cap it all cracks me up with the Playstation comment about Sideshow Bob. Credit where it's due, he's been ok so far. And as has already been noted, a million times better than the wretched Keys and Gray double act.

Why on earth would we sell Glen Johnson? {Ed001's Note - surely it is obvious? You do realise he is one of the highest paid players at the club don't you? It might be ok if he was the best right back at the club, but he is not, Kelly is better, so why pay him 4 times as much and be forced to play him over a better player?}

Spot on ED 001

Armando

Ed001...stop talking shait m8,Johnson is by far the better right back at the club. {Ed001's Note - in what way? Kelly is far better defensively than Johnson, he is almost as good going forward as well. Sorry but you may disagree but I am afraid it is blindingly obvious that Johnson is not far better than Kelly. You must not have seen Kelly play last season, when he was the best player on the pitch at right back while Johnson was covering on the left.}

I believe if you think glen j is our best right back you must only Watch motd, he is terrible defensively, always out of position can't header or mark tightly and always allows enough space for a winger to cross, he has been at this club for too long and I'm glad kenny is getting rid of this average player.

Didn't Glen get a new contract at the end of last season? I can see the motives for moving Glen on - big wages, Kelly and Flanagan's progression, Johnson's deficiencies in defence!

That being said who would go for him? Considering the big fee we would want and his wages.

RedSG

Ok Ed001 Kelly is far better defensively than Johnson. how about attacking ? Jhonson is a very good attacking player. we can use him right wing. and I read it here from an ed I remember that Kelly can't cross well. and I watch few match of him yes he can,t cross ball well. so who is Best kelly or jhonson ? {Ed001's Note - Kelly, he is good getting forward and excellent defensively, whereas Johnson is very good going forward but a shambles defensively far too often. He just switches off and loses his man far too often.}

Hey Ed, sorry to drag this one on but I'm really curious about this news. With you pointing out the thinking behind moving Johnson on is that Kelly is better, but yet we're still keen to sign a replacement for Johnson, so do you think this propective new RB will be signed with the intention of being understudy to Kelly? And if so, what do you think that'll mean for Flanagan's role in the first team? Many thanks!

DP {Ed001's Note - Kelly needs an understudy due to his fitness worries, though it will also allow him to be used in central defence if need be. Flanno is being tested as a midfielder now, the feeling is that he lacks the pace for modern day football at fullback.}

Patrice has been quoted as saying he believes he is having a bad dream, and he'll wake up and manyoo will be in the champions league. Knew this "little fella" was deluded.

D-Day (1892)

You know when your in a dream and however bogus it is in that dream, you believe its reality no matter what? well it didnt fool me, this may be some long ass dream but liverpool not being in the top 4 the past 3 years, lol ya aven a laff. i must be inside a dream inside a dream inside a dream where time goes really slow in the real world, now all i need is for someone to make me fall out of my bed. im ready to wake up now

ps its not all bad, manu and mancity got knocked out last night in champions league group stage.

Lennings says:

'Ed001'

Thanks, mate. Glad to hear that.
For me, the development of our young guns is paramount to anything else right now and going forward... more important than Reina and Suarez.

I expect both to pull a Torres. Not because they're b**tards or anything like that.
'Cause of slow progress.
We are a club in transition, and transtions arent fortnighters.

I saw a post here, think on Monday, where the poster wrote something to this effect, "with the emergence of moneybags City and Arsenal and Chelsea likely to spend big bolstering their squads the next two windows, it'll be more difficult to compete and reclaim our place amongst the elite".

So getting back in the CL might take a bit longer.
Reina and Suarez I'm not sure they'll be that patient.
"So what? We can buy other players of the same calibre." I hear you say.

Well, how easy will it be convince such talent that a team regulurly without CL offers great hopes for success?
Hardly easy to nigh impossible.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying LFC won't get any fine players.
We may well pick up one or two Suarez-type players.
But I think it's more likely that we'll produce our own world class lads than buy them.

And if we can be able to keep them together and avoid an Arsenal, we may, after a few rocky years, go on to do something special.

Robinson, Coady, Sterling, Suso, Morgan, Pelosi are all fine lads who, should they realise their full potential, would walk into three of the world's top sides.

Add them to Kelly, Coates, Wilson, Lucas, Shelvey, Henderson, Agger and you'll have yourself one fine team.
All bar one of these players will be full internationals for top teams (Spain, Brazil, Denmark, the English).

I think Barca took the same route.
There seasons when they were midtable mediocrity, playing with the spent Kluivert, Enrique and a host of others.
Meantime the Xavis, Iniestas, Messis were being refined behind the scenes.

Look at them now.
Fair enough, they have a few class acts (Ronaldinho, Eto), but it's their academy products that have carried them for sustained successes.

It's what Coady, Sterling, Morgan, Suso, Robinson could do for us as well.
Hence I say, for me, it's the development of these young lads that's supersedes all else.

It's not Suarez or Reina that give me so much hope for the future. It's those kids.

Talking of Reina, I think it would advisable to start looking for a potential replacement.
As I said, I expect Reina to head back to Spain or go to Serie A within two years if CL qualification isn't secured.

And we can't afford to play marbles with the security and stability of our team's future.
(Ed, what options are there in terms of g'keepers? Would've loved Courtis.)

Your thoughts, ed? How do you see the dynamics in the "top six" playing out the next 2,3 years?
How in your view does the emergence of City impact on LFC's quest to re-enter the top four?
Chelsea and Arsenal will hugely improve their teams in Jan and the summer. How in your view can LFC, already in a disadvantaged position money and lure-wise , counter this?
TONY BROWN

Ps: 'Singred'
We may have dodged a bullet in Young, but in Downing, we've been knocked by a lokomotive {Ed001's Note - we have to develop our own players, Liverpool have always taken in raw talent and refined it for a couple of years in the reserves, so it is not a big step to take. Though it is more difficult these days, the reserve system is a joke, it offers nothing.}

Does anyone else hate it when people say things like 'XaviS, IniestaS, MessiS etc? or 'your LiverpoolS , your ArsenalS...' Cringe.

Nope :)

I think it was a good post. If Reina does leave we should sign Vorm from Swansea.

Vorm is crap. Couple of decent matches, thats it. I wud go for rene adler or sergio asenjo.

Dear Santa,

Iam a believer again-you really do exist!

Last year all we wanted for Xmas was to be rid of our poor manager- and you delivered. You even went as far as bringing us the best xmas prezzie ever, with the 2nd coming of the King!

This year, I see you wont be bringing any Xmas cheer to old whiskey nose up at Old Trafford, as he has had some bad little boys this year-ferdinand, rooney, evra, giggs.........

So Santa, we have all been very good this year, so all i ask is for 2 little things.................

1. Eden Hazard (Lille)
2. Eriken (Ajax)

And as it is that time of year for forgiveness and good will, could i also ask for one other little thing......

Fernando Torres (Chelsea)

Well lads and lasses,
We have got, on these fair pages, our very own version of Paul The Octopus.
Except sort of in reverse.
Yes, I'm talking about The Irish Rover.
Goes on to the Utd pages last night ; "ah, dont worry it'll be 3-1 to Utd" and then "two late equalisers".
Haha class man.
That was funny.
They never stood a chance when The Irish Jonah was on their case.
Good stuff.
And all this "we shouldn't laugh at others" posts.
Well yeah, I'd say fair enough but we are talking about the mancs here.
The Real KB

The Irish Rover - you need come on here and say we're going to lose before every game!

He sometimes does JRG.
I've seen his posts - "don't fancy our chances today, get beat 3-0".
Then we play well !
Talk about the luck of the Irish. His is in reverse. Must have been conceived woof woof style ! Lol.

Ha ha that's funny KB!

I reckon he must have a five leaf clover! lol.

Who is taking my name in vain? Yes, it is true! I am Jonah. I never back us to win anything because when I do it goes tits up. I know deep down it has nothing to do with us winning or not ( I hope), but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Ps I will have to ask the old folk about that woof woof theory! ;-)

Lennings says:

LFC supporter since time immemorial. Long time reader, first time poster.

The past coupla hours I've had the displeasure of seeing this orgasmic frenzy from some fellow Reds on here and many other forums as well following Utd's CL debacle.
Everybody's gone bananas.
HOW EMBARASSING... and sad.

What, is that what we Liverpool fans have now been reduced to-
celebrating others' failures?
Is that now our pride and joy?
Mocking others for taking part in a competition which we ourselves FAILED to even qualify for?

Does our self-worth now derives its validation from the misfortunes of our rivals?
Is that what we Liverpool supporters now live- celebrating failures of our rivals?
EMBARASSING... very sad.

This says more about us than Utd.
It speaks to a club and supporters so starved of success of their own that their rivals' failures feels like winning to them.
It tells of fans consumed by bitterness and jealousy.

Whether we like it or not, in despite their CL debacle Utd have a lot to celebrate right compared to us.
They're a far better space than we're likely to be for a good few years.

We have worries of our own we should be concerned with.
We haven't won a League title in over two decades; we haven't won any trophy in some six years; we haven't qualified for the CL in two years; we're faced with a real danger of failing to make the CL for the third time in a row; we're relatively a less attractive big team, we play in a relatively small stadium.

We're fraught with our own problems.
So I'm not sure how wise it is to mock a team that, in fours, has reached the CL final four times and has about twice our revenue.
Perspective.

How about we forget Utd and City and actually focus on rebuilding our own team?
Or do we forever want to live in the past, lingering on the big club image on successes achieved when Suarez was still eating his mucus?

Smh. It's said, it really is.

Ed, is Marc Pelosi on trial or has he actually signed? Also, any news on Marco Bueno?
TONY BROWN {Ed001's Note - I believe both have signed permanently.}

In fairness mate, the Man U fans lose no opportunity to give out stick about us being beaten, as they no doubt will if City get past us to the Carling cup final.

I don't like it when it gets too nasty and its not funny, but when it's funny banter I don't think its such a bad thing.

Some of the cleverer and more humorous Man U fans post some crackers on here, and sometimes you have to laugh even though they're having a dig.

This is a banter site mate. Get over it.

Tony go back to O.T. and take down your 37 years and counting that you have had up MOCKING MAN CITY for HOW LONG?? And what have you got to shout about? Champions league OUT Carling Cup OUT! He is going to be banned for a long time anyway

Never thought I would say this, but if Suarez was banned for a few games I dont think it would be the end of the world. Not exactly had his shooting boots for a while and all the play has to go through him and he can be a bit selfish at times, so if he doesnt score who will. He also needs to start acting like a LFC player, and quickly.

Maybe Downing, Carroll, Hendo (and hopefully Maxi) will start combining together.

Hello Eds.

Can I start by saying whata night in the Champs Lge?! Lol. Anyways, my question, Ed, was that im hearing alot about Liverpool being linked with different forwards. Podolski, Soldado, Ramirez, Muniain, even Torres amongst others. All of whom would solve, probably, our lack of goalscoring. However, the general feeling amongst most pundits and forums is tht these players are more available in the than Jan. if thts the case then do Liverpool put up with what they have and hope things can change or do they get a striker on loan until the n of the season as a short-term fix? Or will they try to buy a striker or right winger or both in Jan, regardless of the situation(s) of the players mentioned above?

Thanks (please post in rumours if poss)

Kam {Ed002's Note - Probably.}

Ed, in your expert opinion, why do you think it is that Suarez's finishing for Uruguay is so impressive but for LFC he looks like he will be far from prolific?

Also, where do you think his best position is? I remember Ed001 some time ago saying just behind the striker, but for Ajax he was up top and Uruguay as well. He seems a bit too selfish for that 'in the hole' role imo. {Ed001's Note - for me, I think there are two differences, for one Uruguay is his country and he has so much love and pride when he plays for them, more than he has been able to develop for Liverpool in 11 months. In time he will hopefully fall in love with the club properly, like so many others have done in the past, but that takes time. The main reason is confidence in the players around him to create him chances, with Uruguay he has less pressure to score. With us the team's lack of goals is affecting confidence, that is stopping him from being as relaxed as he should be. Goals will come, once the team start scoring they will flow.}

Muniain isn't a forward, and I believe he's been flirting with chelsea & spurs

Muniain is a fwd mate. Plays front left for Bilbao in a 4-3-3. He can play centrally or in the hole as well. Talented kid.

Had to put this up for a light-hearted read. I have been trying to get my nephews in to football, at which I have succeded. We (me, my two sons and my nephews) watch games and highlights together quite often.

The other day my nephews were over - one has his head on right and supports our mighty LFC, the other I feel I have failed as for some reason he supports Chelsea. Could be worse, but I'm not happy all the same.

Anyway, my three year old son was kicking a soft ball around the house and scored a goal and cheered that Liverpool (he) was winning. My plastic nephew chimed in with a Chelsea comment. My three year old walked up to him and said "who do you go for?" in his sweet innocent voice. My nephew replied "Chelsea"

With no change of expression, or words spoken, my three year old kicked his cousin fair in the shins and brought the kid down.

Whilst I don't condone hooliganism, I had to pull my boy aside and let him know I was proud of him as i guess that is his form of banter!

We all had a laugh, even my plastic nephew.

Thanks for reading.

LIVERPRES (one proud dad).

Sickens me to hear that the FA, who have put in an absolutely frivolous appeal for Rooney to go to 2012, are charging US, Liverpool Football Club for misconduct.

PITSILFC

Dont the players in every game surround the ref on big decisions? Whats the fuss now all of a sudden? Why are the FA not apologising for the bogus red card and the bogus disallowed goal that cost us 3 points?

So we've been charged for failing to ensure our players conducted themselves properly?

Maybe smbody should charge the FA for failing to ensure their referees do a professional job that wasn't ineqt, insipid and negligent.

With regards to the mancs, I refuse to gloat. There's no way i!i'm gonna allow myself to behave like their fans do.

Liverpool fans have always had, and will always have, more class than that.:-)

Dream land.... too much fifa12

Quick to drop Adam to the 2nd string after his consistent performances this season, tad harsh.

Realistic:

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Hendo *Sissoko* Adam
Suarez Carroll *Muniain*

Carroll isn't capable of playing in a 4-5-1/4-3-3... way too slow and a first touch like a brick. kos

Is this better:

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Hendo *Sissoko* Adam *Muniain*
Suarez Carroll

Formations mean bugger all anyways nowadays.

So united are out of europe. Its a great day for football. Fergie thought they would walk the group. They showed nothing but disrespect to the other teams in the group. They will miss the money Trust me its the beginning of the end for the scum.(rdred)

I have absolutely no problem with the mickey taking, fully accept that, but why the regular acceptance of the use of "scum" referring to United by liverpool supporters?
This level of accepted disrespect is not clever, funny or "banter" and shouldn't be allowed on the site imo.
This site keeps a high standard of decency re: swears
Doesn't "scum" just promote ignorance and hatred within a sensitive sporting rivalry?
Just my opinion. {Ed001's Note - it is one of the things none of us editors like, but then United fans use it to refer to Liverpool as well. Newcastle and Sunderland fans use it to refer to each other as a norm. It seems to have become an accepted way to view people who support your rivals, sad to say.}

Accepted by whom?

Every manc supporting mate I have calls me a dirty scouser! There's respect for you :)

Im with you on that .

Ed001, What are your true thoughts on Shelvey and Suso.

Thankyou, JIL315 {Ed001's Note - I think both have a lot of potential, but they need regular first team football to achieve it. Both have good vision and a good range of passing, though neither are all that alert defensively. Both are comfortable on the ball and have good technique, they would be the kind of players Liverpool looked at of old. Hopefully, all being well, they can become first team regulars, they are certainly potentially good enough. The problem is with modern reserve football, it is just not competitive enough, nor of a high enough level, to help players learn their trade.}

Shelvey needs to be loaned soon to latter half table sides soon. The Boltons, Blackburns, Wigans ect for regular PL experience. Suso would do well to be loaned into the championship now
