Got to love Danny Higginbottom his analysis of our team is that Adam lallana has been playing as a false 9 and wijnaldum is a holding midfielder with Hendo. Got to laugh really.

Some of these "analysts" should find another job as they have no clue about the game, period. Lallana as a false 9? Good grief!

07 Oct 2016 21:08:16
How's he even got a job.

07 Oct 2016 21:25:02
To be fair Jezza are you any better? If I remember correctly you said Swansea were going to "batter us"

08 Oct 2016 01:19:49
Big difference between a prediction and an analysis, sandman.

08 Oct 2016 07:13:19
Swansea did batter us first half.

08 Oct 2016 11:24:10
Pretty sure I never said Swansea will batter us I've said I think United will so perhaps you're confused.

08 Oct 2016 14:07:59
They did not 'batter us' at all. We had more shot on goal in the first half then they did. They had 5 shots on goal in that first half, 2 of which were off side (including their goal) .

08 Oct 2016 14:50:40
Battered us? Who won?

08 Oct 2016 16:27:38
We wasted them second half, but in the first half they clearly outplayed us and had three major goal chances.
Even a fan has to admit it when we got outplayed.

08 Oct 2016 19:47:51
We got outplayed because we actually did not play to our ability. We allowed them to dictate the play and we were second best to them in every department. We actually stated playing in the second half and there you can see that we were more than superior to them. Had we played a full game like the second half, it would have been over way before the final whistle.

09 Oct 2016 00:40:50
We weren't talking about what might have happened in the first half- that is a different debate.

If gerrard hadnt slipped we might have won the league in 2014.
If john barnes had played for safety into the corner in the 90th minute of the final game in may 1989 we would have definitely won the league.
What matters in terms of improving is what we actually did, and in the first half we got outplayed by swansea.
If we want to discuss what we might have done last week that's fine- but that will never alter what we actually did do- which was that we got outplayed for nigh on 40 mins.

Recognising our mistakes is not a weakness, it is key to putting things right next time. Not rocket science.
Its just facts, as rafa himself might have said.

09 Oct 2016 14:17:19
At the end of the day we weren't great in the first half against Swansea, but we weren't out of the game and we played our way back into it, we could have won by four or five in the second half.

+1 anonymush
The admission of error is the first step in putting things right, which is what we did in the wind half.

Anfield gets a nice look in the new Ron Howard Eight Days a Week Beatles Doc, the fans singing a Beatles medley and swaying. Elvis Costello also comments on LFC. FYI.

I remember reading on here a while ago, someone asked what support footballers have with mental health issues etc. The BBC have an article on their website, not massively detailed, explaining what
support networks are in place, not just in football, but rugby and cricket etc. Just a brief overview, but interesting.

It's such an important issue this, i'd love to see as many of us on here just ask a family member a mate, are things OK. sometimes that helps to have a person struggling with mental health open up, find there passion in life.

07 Oct 2016 18:51:54
I live with and will die with ADHD and high functioning autism.
In my experience mental health is a joke to most people in this country, there is very little or no understanding of mental health.
Playing sports kept me on the straight path when i was younger, played american football for 6 years for birmingham and great britain, unfortunatly part of autism it often comes with problems with senses, some are exremly sensitive to them others need excessive inputs to acknowledge them, mine gives me the ability to take extreme amounts of pain, after 6 years i eneded up with torn acl, 2 compacted discs 13 fractures on one leg all this came out when i tore my acl and had a medical! Ended all my sports and started a downwards sliral, often looked at ballotelli and wondered if he had considered being screened for adhd as it would explain the way he acts and the things he says, playing sports is a massive help for mental health but also there needs to be an understanding of the affects of the individual, i needed a strong head coach who took no rubbish from his players, it help with structure and routine others need different handling,
Sorry for long pointless post vut mental health has had a massive effect on me and my family
I wish it was more understood and taken seriously in this country.
But as previous poster said, ask some one how they are, and actually listen to them answer

Good post Lifelongred and an interesting insight - certainly not pointless.

08 Oct 2016 07:50:34
Excellent post. One in four people will suffer a mental health problem in their lives. Understanding and support is required. Football players are know different. đź‘Ť.

09 Oct 2016 08:18:13
Totally agree evo having suffered myself i think people need to be less judgemental.

10 Oct 2016 04:46:09
Theres so much unhelpful stigma around mental illness that discourages people from being open about their own struggles. It's good to see people acknowledging these illnesses without belittleing the sufferers.

10 Oct 2016 07:56:55
I suffer bad depression and have done my whole life it seems. On bad days when I just cannot work I have to make up an illness rather than tell the truth. Those days are rare, thankfully, but its still galling to know my real condition would land me in disciplinary meetings.

10 Oct 2016 12:46:18
Lifelongred, I have moderate ADD, and I've honestly pondered the same possibility about Balotelli. The guy's attention span seems to be way below average.

10 Oct 2016 17:30:00
Nick bruce wayne, for me over the years watching ballo play it stands out to me because when he's interested he plays superbly, when loses interest he just shuts off, reminds me of me, people who don't suffer or understand adhd don't seem to believe that having it causes the sufferers brain to litteraly shut down when they lose interest, its not that they are behavimg like a big kid, there is literally nothing you can do about it, my specialist has been trying me on a nrw drug for a year now and its been trally good for my adhd, but it on lasts for about 6 hours a day, and as its amphetine based it has other side effects, ballo off field behaviour as well, acting the way he does and seeming not to learn, also part of adhd, might not be, but i definitely think he should be looked at.

If youve not tried elvanse before for adhd ask your specialist about them.

Great to see both Coutinho and Firminio get goals for Brazil!

There's something special about watching a Liverpool player score with a dominant header.

07 Oct 2016 09:59:03
They're both just incredible mate, I couldn't be happier calling them players of Liverpool.

07 Oct 2016 17:39:44
I saw the game. Tite has got Brazil playing the Liverpool way (I know we didn`t invent the high energy, high intensity system) but to see Brazil flourish under the Klopp style and Couts and Firmino scoring and playing well, made me proud to an LFC and Brazil fan. Even at 5-0, they kept pressing, and harrying the opposition. The dark days of Dunga seem to be a long lost memory. BTW, Gabriel Jesus is some player.

07 Oct 2016 19:32:36
I wished I'd watched it now lol.

08 Oct 2016 00:33:49
So do I.

08 Oct 2016 17:29:26
You can still watch it on FootballOrgin.

10 Oct 2016 00:29:42
Unless it's an absolute classic (Istanbul or Dortmund 2no leg esc) involving Liverpool, then watching a match that's already over and I know the score to just doesn't have the same feel for me.
