My dad had an accident at the weekend and I returned home from the hospital for a break to see we were 1-1 on 82 mins with 10 men, my little lad was watching the game and I sat with him and my wife.
I asked the boys to get a goal for my poorly dad, a lifelong koppite, Moreno hit the post and then when it looked a draw Benteke scored that pen, I went back to hospital told Dad, showed him both results on my phone and said hope that cheers you up dad, can you see it. His eyes told me he could.
Dad is gravely ill now, with not long left and I'm with him, I'll always remember Benteke scoring that penalty and think of my dad. He's had some stick, from me too, but well done Christian Benteke and thank you from my family and I.

In the next 24 hours I can see dad, chatting with Shanks and Sir Bob about Klopps potential signings, formations and infectious enthusiasm for his new club.
Dad will Never Never Walk Alone and we'll be here to see him join all those koppites in heaven. God Bless and good night dad, YNWA xxx.

we were lucky the way the events all unfolded that allowed us to be the better side but still needed luck to get the penalty, which won us the game. i'm not going to talk anymore on this.

Wiseryan this made me chuckle best thing I've red on here in a while. truly embarressing.

07 Mar 2016 21:27:54
It was only a few years back when Ola Toivanan thought he was too big of a player to join us. Now's he scoring goals for Sunderland u/ 21's against Everton u/ 21's.
What a guy!

Believable6 Unbelievable2

08 Mar 2016 00:03:54
He wasn't that good anyway as his career has now found him at the Sunderland U-21's. Dodged a bullet there, mate.

07 Mar 2016 18:05:14
I have been looking at out striker issues and it seems benteke might get one more chance under klopp. Origi does not seem completely ready, you might not get a full season from sturridge and ings did not kickstart.

Benteke has been around for a while and he has already 7 goals, he may well end up with 10 plus goals this year too.

I would certainly stick with him as he is good plan b and we always have more competitons to play every season.

To me, there are lot of under performing players who need attention the benteke. It must be the 32 mil, which is causing him all the hate. I believe he is only 10-15 goal striker not more than that, liverpool overpaid for him. He is not aguero, but he will get us goals and certainly not at the peak of his career.

Believable4 Unbelievable13

07 Mar 2016 18:56:50
A 32 million pound plan B? Sounds like a great plan, and I'm sure Benteke will be perfectly happy to spend most games on the bench too.

The lad has talent and would be an asset to a lot of clubs but at the moment it seems fairly obvious it isn't going to work out for him here and I believe it'd be in the best interested of BOTH parties to for him to move on.

If Benteke does leave then I wish him all the success because while his performances have been unconvincing and I question his effort on the pitch at times I appreciate him keeping his issues with playing time in house (as players should do) .

07 Mar 2016 19:09:25
If you look at Benteke's history, this is absolutely par for the course. He regularly has brief purple patches which last 4-6 games and then goes missing for 10 games.
I don't think Klopp will tolerate that kind of inconsistency.
I'd hesitate to think THIS is the time he sustains his form I'm afraid.
I don't think we'll sell him for nothing, we'll need at least half our money back to be tempted so he may stay another season.
It's a shame because he could be a beast of a striker, but he's just dreadfully inconsistent.

07 Mar 2016 19:18:56
Agree with Ron. He's a good back up or number one at a bottom or middle ranking club. Isn't good enough to be number 1 at Liverpool. God knows what Rodgers was thinking.

07 Mar 2016 20:48:38
Ings did not kick start? I think that's exactly what he was beginning to do before his injury and I can't wait to see him under Klopp, they seem the perfect fit.
Personally I would give benteke another season, who knows what a good pre season under Klopp could do for someone I think most of us agree, possess all the physical attributes to be unstoppable.

07 Mar 2016 20:52:00
When we signed him, I was not too enthused but - he did have a 50% goal to game conversion - so thought, let's see what happens. it could work! It hasn't unfortunately.

07 Mar 2016 21:31:47
Benteke got us 13 points with his winning goals . so ya god knows what rongers was doing. Some people needs to get of his back because he's naver go to be like Suarez but he can score goals look at the run he's makes for the pen .

07 Mar 2016 23:23:04
What are you chatting red? So you missed the complete absense of work rate and all the chances he missed against West Ham, Leicester etc? Fair play he won a penalty and scored it. Havent seen much else. Firmino has scored 7 in his last 8 games and he's not even a striker!

08 Mar 2016 00:12:14
Red, using pointless stats to make your point makes no sense. If you add the stats you put up against all the games where he couldn't hit a barn door, could have finished off WH in the FA Cup on his own with a hatrick, showed a complete lack of effort countless times to the point that Can had to literally point to where he needed to be for a cross vs CP, the lot, you come up with a deficit that your stats can never compensate for. The guy was never a good fit for us and BR as usual like the Balotelli signing, never did his homework. Now this is another mess that he has left for Klopp to clean up.

08 Mar 2016 00:39:21
Its no secret the club hierarchy want us to be a ball on the ground incisive passing/ high press game playing team. However the fact is we are not good enough at it yet to break down teams that just sit back as we'v seen many times over the last few seasons where we destroy teams that try to play us but are clueless when teams park the bus. For that reason I think we should keep Benteke for another season. Klopp IMO is one of the better trainers going and if he can train CB to press effectively and make runs like the one for the peno Sunday more often then we'll have one hell of a striker on our hands, plus an aerial threat which none of the other strikers possess. Seeing as if we sell we'll be lucky if we take a 10m hit surely it's worth another season to try? I remember Drogba being pretty useless for Chelsea to start with and look how he turned out. Maybe it's blind hope on my part but as long as he wears Liverpool red I'll keep hoping and get behind him, as should others who seem to only cry and moan about Liverpool players. I'll support all players in red, whether it's Christian Poulsen, Steven Gerrard, djimi traore, Coutinho, igor biscan, Bruno chevron or Christian Benteke doesn't matter.

08 Mar 2016 06:48:04
There are far more poorer performers than Benteke this season.

08 Mar 2016 08:40:55
Westwood to be fair they set up to drogbas strengths chelsea played a lot of defensive direct football and then drogba threw himself on the floor.

08 Mar 2016 09:04:02
Why should anyone that shows no signs of improvement be afforded more time in our team - thereby limiting Origi's chances, who in my opinion is improving by the game? Also, with Ings coming back next year I do not think there will be room for Christian in our squad.

Additionally, if we adopt Benteke's preferred style of play as our plan B we'd need every player in our team to play in that way.
We do not have the players to put in early, accurate crosses and even if we did we'd have no one else to head them in but him. He'd be marked out of the game, which does not appear to be a difficult thing to do, and that would be the end of that.
Then we'd also have to accept that our more technically gifted players would in all likelihood look to move on.

In my opinion counterattacking with directness and maintaining possession while patiently building-up to score should be our plans A and B, irrespectively.

Lastly, supporting players simply for wearing our colors without taking their efforts and abilities into consideration guarantees that the club will not learn anything from their mistakes and will thus only repeat them. After all, when your child does wrong you don't encourage them for being your offspring but reprimand them so it won't be repeated.

We are a mid table team that's a fact!

Ed001 since I know how you wanted us to sign Son I was wondering how would you compare his season to Firminos, who do you think has better season? Are you satisfied with Firmino?

Believable2 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - Son has had a stop start season, so it is difficult to compare. Plus Firmino suffered under Rodgers early on. Overall you would have to say Firmino, if only he would man up, is doing the better by miles. I am very satisfied with Firmino, but then I was glad when we went for him in the first place.}

07 Mar 2016 17:17:26
I have seen enough of son to think he would have done well in a klopp side, agree 100% with you ed001 under Rodgers firmino looked like a little boy lost trying to fit in to Rodgers's system, as soon as klopp arrived he went from black and white to colour, if he can get double figures in both goals and assists I would say that is a good start to his Liverpool career.

07 Mar 2016 17:52:59
I would have loved son personally but he hasn't adapted well. He would have been a more intergral part of the team at Liverpool but if he isn't doing it at Spurs he most likely wouldn't do it here either. Firmino has been awesome for some time now and is our most inform player. I would have loved teixeria in the team alongside coutinho and firmino, think we would be on fire right now. Hopefully we make quality additions in the summer at last.

07 Mar 2016 18:59:47
Thanks for the answer Ed001, have a nice day.

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome mate.}

07 Mar 2016 19:25:57
Firmino is a class act and looks like he's settling in well. He can only get better.
I'm glad we signed him and not DePay. we certainly dodged a bullet there!

07 Mar 2016 20:56:24
Was and still am excited about Firmino, he is class and has adapted well under Klopp to say the least.
Son has not adapted as quickly, but I would not say no to him in a Liverpool shirt.
My preference will always be Firmino, not just because he is a Liverpool player, but because he is class act.

08 Mar 2016 00:16:26
I would have taken Son and my opinion hasn't changed. Firmino was always going to come good and I see that he's getting a bit nasty in his game as shown with his ability to win the ball back and getting stuck in. 8 goals and 7 assists is impressive and I hope he gets more.

07 Mar 2016 23:37:35
There was some doubt from the Eds about Alderweireld - what do they think now? To my mind not signing him, if we actually had the chance, would be reason enough to re-evaluate completely the way we sign players.

{Ed001's Note - he has grown with the move, after being nowhere near good enough at Atletico. They do play in a way that suits him, but I still see a major improvement now he has settled down and got a long run of games. It is not just his defending, it is his work on the ball that has come on.}

08 Mar 2016 07:01:18
he has also benefitted from having a regular partner for most of the season, I think poch has played to his strengths, he has done well, but there is no reason with the right coaching we couldn't get the best out of lovren or sakho.

08 Mar 2016 13:20:03
We are already getting the best out of almost all our CB`s including Lucas and that comes down to coaching and making things simple. Klopp should get all the credit for this.

07 Mar 2016 16:11:25
For all those people on Hendo's back, saying nonsense like he doesn't pass forward, who played the through ball for Benteke to run on to and win the pen? Go on, have a guess, then get off the lad's back.

Believable20 Unbelievable5

07 Mar 2016 16:23:32
Regarding hendo ed001, is his injury the type that it's ok to play on and it will eventually heal, or will it heal quicker if he had a spell on the sidelines?
As much as I admire him for playing on through the pain, I do worry he's doing himself damage or prolonging the injury healing time.
Hopefully he will be back on top form by next season so we can make a decent go of the league and the boo boys will give him a break.

{Ed001's Note - it is something that nothing can be done about. Apparently it just needs to be dealt with. There is a possibility that playing can damage it further, but it should then be operable, as I understand it.}

07 Mar 2016 16:31:52
Can I call those typicals ed01? I remember past few years, when this site wasn't look like this, without login and all, it was Lucas. Now, it is Hendo. Next?

{Ed001's Note - probably someone we sign in the summer.}

07 Mar 2016 16:39:09
I ve had this injury myself and there are no quick fixes some lasts about 8 months to a year. The choices are stretching exercises, injections not recommended as this just masks the problem and is likely to do more damage long term. Or an op. Inmost cases as Edsoo1 said it just has to to be managed.

07 Mar 2016 17:03:22
If I've cracked the mystical code correctly of Lucas -> Lovren -> Sturridge -> Hendo then it's a defenders turn next and I'm betting Flanagan.

07 Mar 2016 19:12:31
Any medium-long term injury necessitates at least half a dozen or so games to get form back. You don't fall off the physios couch and instantly hit top form. In the past it seemed everyone knew this as its common sense but we seem to have lost this knowledge.

07 Mar 2016 23:03:13
I think it'll be Sakho.

07 Mar 2016 23:42:46
Have to disagree. You've completely ignored the context of Henderson's through ball for Benteke. We had 10 seconds left on the clock, so Henderson had NO OTHER CHOICE than to play the ball forward! Can you imagine, in literally our last chance of the game, that Henderson plays sidewards or backwards instead of passing forward to Benteke?! It was not an option, any other sane player would have done the same!

Other than this, Henderson still plays too sideways and too backwards. I've seen him time, and time, and time again, play the negative, easy ball back toward goal, or sideways, when there was a perfectly viable opportunity to play the ball forward instead. It's a habit and he needs to get rid of it.

{Ed001's Note - really? At 1-1 with ten men on the field you think he couldn't have played it safe? You are making yourself look foolish with that comment.}

08 Mar 2016 04:07:42
side ways backwards i'm sure the same argument was used against allen lucas we better hope them 3 never start a game together the ball will never get past the halfway line with all the sidewards backwards thrown abouthenderson when fit was always charging forward looking to pass or shoot the guys probably only at 90% compared to normal and as for whos next i think the rest of the team has all been done to death clyne seems to have got off lightly few mentions of his crossing so he must be due for some abuse thrown his way.

08 Mar 2016 05:38:55
hi ed001, i have to tell u hendo plays sideways even b4 1-1.

{Ed001's Note - and ou have shown a complete lack of football knowledge with your posts, so I will ignore this latest load of cack. This was the exact same moronic crap that people labeled Lucas with. Same moaning boo boys lacking knowledge of the game, talking about him lacking technique! That is moronic as any of the squad will tell you Hendo is one of the most technically accomplished players we have. This is embarrassing now. Trolls like you should just stay under your bridge.}

08 Mar 2016 07:54:11
I'd like it if there was an agree button for the Eds comment, because spot on on the last one Ed 001!

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate.}

08 Mar 2016 07:55:29
Ed, there was 10 seconds left with Liverpool on the attack, he'd be an absolute moron if he didn't try and play the ball forward. Anybody would have done the same in his situation. I can't believe this makes you think he's a completely positive-thinking player.

{Ed001's Note - I never said that but it would be moronic to think that it was his only option with ten seconds left. It was the risky choice to play a through ball to a striker especially one who is known for not making the run he was asking him to play. No one is completely positive thinking but Henderson likes to move forward and play the ball forward.}

08 Mar 2016 08:24:34
If he wanted us to win the game, then it *was* his only option. We didn't have time to dither around on the edge of the box with sideways passes because there literally wasn't ample time left for that.

What was risky about it? He had nothing to lose. If Benteke makes the run and gets the ball, we possible score. If it doesn't pull off, we turn the ball over deep in Palace's half and very most likely rescue a point from the game.

{Ed001's Note - this is pointless. You have said it yourself, he wanted to win the game rather than settle for a point but you still dont see the stupidity of the argument. Wasting my time with you, you are bitching about him doing the positive thing then trying to argue he had no choice when it is clear he did. Just give it up you are being as much of a tool now as you are on live chat when you just want to abuse our players. Embarrassing this is. We have crap fans it seems that abuse our players for trying to win and try and make out they didnt want to! I give up.}

07 Mar 2016 14:40:46
Hi Eds

Whats your summary on yesterdays game please mate if youve got time? I would say we were not amazing but thought Lovren Can Origi were decent and getting 3 points not playing well is a good sign. Did you think it was a Peno?

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - we did ok, though Palace were awful after they scored. Flanno looked completely out of sorts, you could see he was recovering from a major injury as he was slow, slow to react, slow movement, slow passing, everything was a struggle for him. That does happen, hopefully it is out of his system now.
Mignolet was decent enough, though his kicking is still woeful. Solid enough apart from that, but never had anything to really test his weaknesses, which is why I struggle to understand why people thought we were lucky. What did Palace really do, other than retreat into their shell after scoring?
Moreno was once again rash and more of a hindrance than a help. What is with him throwing himself in when there is no need? The sheer stupidity of his play beggars belief at times. I have completely given up on the idea of him playing in front of Smith, his movement is moronic in the final third.
Sakho was solid enough, not really outstandingly good or bad, Lovren was good enough alongside him as a centre back, but played really well once we went down to ten and his position seemed to be anything from right back to right mid.
Can was good again. He does make errors, but overall he is growing as a player by the game. Looked fantastic stepping out from the back.
Hendo was ok, still not back to his best, but did nothing really wrong.
Firmino is fine when we have the ball, but he should be nowhere near our box when there is a setpiece to defend. Getting out of the way of the shot was criminal. Leave him upfield where he can worry the opposition in future. Took his goal so well though.
Milner, just why? He was terrible, then stupidly got sent off. Not a good day for him.
Lallana I just don't see what he really offered, then he does something fantastic and you think he is going to step up and take the game by the scruff of the neck and instead he just doesn't. Flattered to deceive once again. Could be so much more but just never seems to want to do anything but run about. He drives me mad.
Origi was decent, but it didn't quite come off for him. Still, I like him up front, he offers us something different, a real focal point. He kept their defence busy up until the moment he was taken off and they really struggled with him.
Coutinho was busy when he came on but nothing outstanding. Still he does offer some incision to our play which forced them back even more.
Benteke did ok, win and scored the pen, can't ask much more of him in ten min.
Kolo was not on long enough to judge.}

07 Mar 2016 16:02:08
Spot on but for me I absolutely hate moreno he can not defend or cross I still prefer Enrique hahaha Smith all day for me though at left back and get flanno on now and then ease him in like studge but henderson milner and lallana I just thought was dreadful but moreno I hated from last season anyway.

07 Mar 2016 16:21:05
Totally agree with your why do "people think we were lucky comment".
I watched the game with my mate who is a Palace fan and he thought that we were on top in the first half.
Apart from the Adebayor header (which only arose from the whole team downing tools as the ball had gone out of play) and the Bolasie chance they offered nothing going forward. Even less after we went down to 10 men.
We looked dangerous and kept getting in behind their fullbacks but our final ball was poor.
We just need to sort that out.
Even with that in mind Moreno hit the post, Benteke and Origi had a couple of chances.
Palace are totally our bogey team and we just beat them with 10 men.
Look at what happened to United and Everton after going down to 10 men!

07 Mar 2016 16:41:42
ed, you say we weren't lucky, but 99 times out of 100 if we played like that we would not win. I feel we were very lucky we got the mistake from the keeper and the soft penalty decision. we took our chances which was the only thing that wasnt lucky.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but that is simply not true, we were the better side and 99 times out of 100 they wouldn't have scored and we would have created something and snatched it. I really do not know what you watched but we completely dominated after the sending off.}

07 Mar 2016 17:06:56
I think people are still getting used to actually winning when we're the better team. For the last 18 months we've been able to dominate position and make some good moves into the box but no matter how well we played we never did it enough or were never clinical enough to actually walk out with 3 points. That's changed since Klopp - United aside, we've usually won when we've been better. But it takes emotional adjustment!

07 Mar 2016 17:16:20
I know we dominated after the sending off but palace were trying to win the game too which let us play our game. we didn't just magically play better with 10 men. I think in games like that in the future, we just need to be patient, instead of letting the defensive team snatch an early goal by us going all out attack especially when we never look like scoring anyway with our starting lineup, but we are the better side but played right into palaces hands until they felt forced (they saw it as a great opportunity) to go for the win after we went a man down. we looked like we could go on to win it but it was luck in the end with the penalty decision.

{Ed001's Note - seriously? We were better because we were better. This is just embarrassing now. We can't even win without whines!}

07 Mar 2016 17:39:56
So if people disagree its whining, so from my perspective are you whining? I know we were better than palace. I just don't understand how people fail to see we were lucky to win the game. I feel people just just care about the result and ignore any problems we may have. Could have easily been a draw or a loss, and the mood on these pages would be a lot different. The reason I care because we will get another game like that this season and the problems need to be addressed by klopp, otherwise top 4 is a pipe dream.

{Ed001's Note - so we were better yet you still call that lucky? Lucky is winning when you are not better. You are whining because you can't stop getting on the backs of the players even when we have played well and got a well deserved victory because of this insane idea that it was down to luck that the better team won.}

07 Mar 2016 18:08:20
Agree with ed1, especially on Moreno. When he was at Sevilla you could see he's everything you want in a modern fullback, he just needed to gain more experience at a top club to sort out his defending and he would be a star. Two seasons in and he just makes the most inexperienced mistakes. He can't defend crosses, always caught on the break. He's decent enough in the final third but I don't think I've seen many goals come from him attacking or overlapping. He's just an erratic player. If a better left back is available in the summer I would be in favour of replacing him, certainly as first choice. Enrique is gone, and who knows if Gomez will still be utilised as a LB when he gains fitness again. Mignolet, Moreno and benteke are at this present time certainties to be replaced. Not necessarily sold but definitely not first choice. If benteke has a miracle upturn in form then that's 50/ 50 but I doubt it, we should sell and get some coin. Lallana is like Luis Garcia to a lesser degree. I'm still undecided on whether I'd be patient on him or not, we certainly need another winger/ forward so not sure what that means to lallana.

I'd also say one area that's begging for some creativity and craft is centre mid. We have two players that basically do the same thing and are ok at it. Henderson was immense for most of last season, he was one of our better players and since the injury has just fallen back. Can is improving but i'd still say we need a better midfielder playing there, either alongside him or instead of him.

07 Mar 2016 18:08:44
we were lucky the way the events all unfolded that allowed us to be the better side but still needed luck to get the penalty, which won us the game. i'm not going to talk anymore on this.

07 Mar 2016 18:14:48
I don't call any of that luck. We were the only team creating meaningful chances for at least a third of the game, the other 2/ 3 the chances were pretty even.
Firmino got his "luck" because we were attacking and their defender intercepted and passed back to his keeper.
Now we could have retreated to half way to compete for the second ball, but no, we had a player in the box pressurising and we had Firmino on the edge of the area pressurising. That pressure force the indecision in the keepers mind and he slipped under pressure. The skill to control that ball and dribble in to goal and beat the keeper was fantastic.
With respect to the penalty, you don't get a penalty if you're not attacking the opponents goal. There is no luck in that, it was sustained pressure causing a mistake.

We deserved that win and Palace's goal was the luckiest of the lot, a bouncing ball after a corner kick and smash it through a crowd of players.

{Ed001's Note - well said.}

07 Mar 2016 20:16:30
Cheers for reply ed mate. A grest indepth answer and your spot on with everything youve said. can't beleive so many have hit the disagree button and some have hit it on my initial question to you, can't weigh it up lol but there you go.

Thanks again mate.

07 Mar 2016 21:48:49
I wonder if people are confusing "lucky" with "character. " That was a character win. We were the better team throughout, went down against the run of play, lost a man through brain cramp, then upped our game (admittedly to where it should have been) to snatch a victory from a tough day.

That's what good teams learn to do - win when maybe they aren't at their best. Followed hot on the heals of the ManC win, and admitting a letdown in opposition talent and therefore motivation, this win strikes me as exactly the kind the team needs. After Milner was tossed, they dug deep, showed real character, and found the same type of game they played against the ManCs - and found a way to take the three points.

And while you can point to the overall record of Klopp and say "inconsistent, " I would beg to differ, and point out a slowing increasing confidence and commitment level.

I think it bodes well.

07 Mar 2016 21:54:50
Wiseryan i ohnestly don't know if your messing around or not!?

08 Mar 2016 00:36:08
Wiseryan, you're sound very unwise. You talking about luck but your notion of luck has no basis in reality. How can you be lucky when you created the better chances, scored more goals and didn't concede any, all this after going down to ten men? As Ed asked, what did CP actually do to warrant them being unlucky? They had the man advantage yet a suspect GK like Mingo had NO saves to make? I can keep going. Let it go, bro. You're sounding desperate because you opinion has no facts to back it up.

08 Mar 2016 07:04:53
its best to let sleeping dogs lie, wiseryan, what's done is done mate, move on for the good of your sanity mate.

07 Mar 2016 14:33:02
Hey ed001 if youve got time, what's happening with the podcasts?

Believable6 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - Benny has been in hospital, a hand injury of some kind, probably masturbation related....}

07 Mar 2016 15:26:17
the injury must have happened while he was talking to you.

{Ed001's Note - I do have that effect....}

07 Mar 2016 15:55:02
He or his other half should no 99 change hands πŸ˜›.

{Ed001's Note - his other half? You mean rightie or leftie?}

07 Mar 2016 16:02:33
This is brilliant hahahaha πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

07 Mar 2016 18:07:29
Omg you have me laughing out load on the bus like a mad man. Benny does come across as a ****er tbf. πŸ˜‰ only joking benny you know i luv ya.

{Ed002's Note - Soon you will figure out why Gerrard had all of those stretching injuries to the groin.}

07 Mar 2016 20:59:46
Hahaha. Just to clarify, i drilled a hole in my hand, turned septic and was originally thought to have infected and drilled the tendon. i'm right handed, luckily.
I would like some suggestions from posters on things to discuss during a podcast though, as when we do them on games, it seems to turn into slagging off mignolet 9 times out of 10 lol.
So yeah, any suggestions please post!

07 Mar 2016 23:26:18
A europa league podcast on Liverpool's chances v man u and going on in the tournament and also Tottenham v Dortmund would be great in my opinion anyway.

07 Mar 2016 13:24:37
OMG I've never heard so much moaning and crying from a manager and players over a penalty, if the defender never went down then there's no pen but everyone who plays and watches the game knows that if you slide in to tackle some one in the penalty area then there's a chance of giving a penalty away, delaney who gave the pen away says he never touched benteke and that the palace players where man handled all through the game, he even waited half an hour to talk to the ref who said to him he thought it was not a pen so half an hour after the game ended the palace players and management are still moaning they want to grow up and move on, every team has to go through the same thing but they don't go on and on about it, its making palace look idiots and cryers the manager should have taken it on the chin and said these decisions go for you and go against you, they must all be in training now still whining over it,

Believable12 Unbelievable5

07 Mar 2016 22:31:01
Clearly he was sliding on his knees and came into contact with Benteke. Don't see what Delaney has to be aggrieved about other than frustration at himself. He doesn't go down, he doesn't make contact, no penalty.

07 Mar 2016 12:18:21
I think it's a shame that there a fans who always really want something to target there hatred on. Right now this is hendo and its absolutely wrong. He has defied the odds to go from an unwanted man to our captaincy. His performances haven't been the same as we've seen in the past, but he is carrying an injury. He's clearly trying to give his all to help the club in a time of pain. For those who think he should be gone look at the points per games difference with him on the pitch compared to when he's off. Think I saw it somewhere as 1.9 points per game with him on and 1.3 points per game with him off.

Believable11 Unbelievable8

07 Mar 2016 13:19:47
Stats are often meaningless because in this case, hendo doesn`t play on his own and placing stats to support your point does a huge disservice to the other ten players on the pitch who are also involved. However, I agree with your overall point that certain people just can`t get over the fact that Hendo is capt of LFC and. That is just a fact. They never agreed with him being the captain at the time and are now using the fact that his perfs aren`t the same because he`s carrying an injury, to slate him. Talk about cowardly opportunism at its finest.

07 Mar 2016 13:36:13
Yeah my stats argument is slightly weak haha. Too many variables like who else was injured during the same period, manager in charge etc.

07 Mar 2016 12:14:48
A thought on Benteke,

regardless of what people think of his abilities when he's on the pitch, I think the lad needs commending for the way he's dealt with being out of favour as of late. I've not seen any or heard of any reports of him moaning/ whinging etc and it seems as though he's just getting his head down.

I for one would love to see him come good for us and was really pleased to see him grab a goal yesterday. YNWA.

Believable14 Unbelievable3

07 Mar 2016 12:43:21
Are you just repeating what carra said?

07 Mar 2016 12:55:23
I might be a bit biased, since he's one of my favorite players. I really can't see the rationale behind this bashing. If he is being measured by the stats (goals, assists, etc), maybe it is clear to say so. But things are just more than that.

07 Mar 2016 12:51:24
Β£80k a week to sit on your ass? Not bad if u can get it.

07 Mar 2016 14:38:42
Arghh. I replied to a wrong post. That was meant for Hendo, not Benteke!

07 Mar 2016 12:14:22
Why is there such a debate if it was a penelty or not? Yes he pulled put of the tackle but he still caught his foot with the follow through to be fairly honest after the sending off we deserved to win that game and pushed to the final wistle for the three points palace turned off after the sending off and thought the three points where in the bag that's not our fault nor was it the penelty was giving if it was the other way round pardew would have been it was a stonewall one no questions but because he has there such a debate he wiped out his standing leg get over it . the assistant got it spot on and that's what they are there for to get anything the ref didn't see and we'll done klopp for changing the formation it worked a dream.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

07 Mar 2016 13:15:17
Because of pardews comments if has stirred a bit of controversy and sky are lapping it up! I also can't see how they are claiming that he felt the contact and went down. He must have mighty quick reactions if you watch it real time he has very little time between the contact and going down. Am I missing something?

07 Mar 2016 13:24:09
These people can`t be satisfied. they moan that the RA is not helping the refs do their jobs and then when one RA actually does help the ref because clearly he did not see the incident clearly, they moan that why did the ref not overrule his assistant if he did not see it. Pathetic! It was a penalty whether he pulled out of the challenge or not. If Delaney had stayed on his feet, it would have been a dive. People need to move on and stop moaning or giving a poor manager like Pardew, the platform to look smart because clearly based on results, he is and aweful manager.

07 Mar 2016 13:27:04
100%. Here's my own two cents:

-Picture stills of the footage clearly show Delaney's knee sliding into Benteke's heel/ sole. Delaney makes contact at the same time as when Benteke's foot is in the process of launching off the ground. If you are running at speed and someone then makes contact with your standing foot, then there is enough force to - at the very least - disrupt your balance and your momentum.

-a foul is not dependent on whether the victim falls down or not. You do not have to cause someone to fall over to commit a foul. So essentially, even if Benteke DID dive, that doesn't mean it wasn't a penalty. Whether Benteke dived or not is another debate, but almost irrelevant to the penalty. Players are often forced to exaggerate fouls like this because referees don't actually officiate these fouls properly. If you're fouled inside the box without falling over, then you are most likely not going to be awarded anything. Maybe referees are too scared of giving 'soft' penalties.

-There have been some confused people on my side of the argument who have argued that it was a penalty merely because Delaney made contact. Ok, just because you make contact with someone, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a foul. Contact is only recognised as illegal if the contact puts the opponent at a disadvantage. If you slide into tackle someone, miss the ball, but ever so slightly brush your opponent's leg without actually disrupting him, that isn't a foul just because you made contact. So yes, Benteke was fouled because contact was made, but only because the contact was strong enough to disadvantage him.

07 Mar 2016 15:39:37
Let them moan as much as they want, they can't take those 3 points away from us. We should just be focused on making this week a horrid week for LVG. #Paybacktime.

07 Mar 2016 11:50:40
Can anyone tell me why the Chelsea game isn't being played on sunday?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

07 Mar 2016 12:06:00
Chelsea play Everton on saturday in the FA Cup.

07 Mar 2016 12:06:47
Because they're playing in the FA cup.

07 Mar 2016 12:46:13
Eds, any word on when we play our game in hand against everton or the Chelsea game? Does that mean we have a free weekend this week and I assume both games will have to be midweek!

{Ed001's Note - I don't think the dates have been set yet.}

07 Mar 2016 16:33:17
Thanks for replying troops.

07 Mar 2016 10:17:23
I wonder if any Red fans has tried to work out how many points we have threw away because of keeper/ player mistakes and wer would we be in the league without them?!? I bet we would be right in the running for the league minus the mistakes! Main point being is we are not too far away from being a good side that can challenge for the championship. #WeNeedQuality.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

07 Mar 2016 10:37:02
If we had made no mistakes we would be top of the league with no goals conceded and 28 wins. But so would every other team if they had made no mistakes. The best teams are those who make the fewest errors.

What we do have are two players in Mignolet and Moreno who make far too many mistakes as individuals!

07 Mar 2016 10:37:23
To be fair sugar red the same could be said about all the other teams in the league and we would probably remain in the same position.

Although I agree a couple of quality players and we could be up in the top 4.

07 Mar 2016 10:51:34
Ak guys c'mon it's only a stupid little survey, I know every team makes mistakes but our mistakes are howlers, I was only wondering because I have lost count it's that many, what I'm also saying is, top teams don't make that many mistakes.

07 Mar 2016 10:58:44
Sugar, you notice our mistakes more because you're a reds fan. Yesterday we were gifted the win, should we be knocking three points off our total?

07 Mar 2016 11:07:24
Another point being is our problem areas i. e goalkeeper and leftback, 2 mistakes from Migs in the space of a few weeks is 1. Adam Johnstons free kick, saves that we are 2 points closer to 4th and the 2nd. Man City's goal against us in the final, he saves that we win the Cup, just silly little things that iv torn my hair out over 😀 I play amateur football and my team never makes as many howlers as Migs and Moreno, absolute clowns, I don't know how many times my TV has nearly been lying in the middle of my street because of them 2 lol BUT I love LFC πŸ˜•.

07 Mar 2016 11:08:56
Sugarred I know your only mentioning as a bit of fun and I'm not being funny.

Some of the mistakes mignolet has made have been howlers and change the whole complextion of the games. Take the cup final not saving city's goal, yeah they had other chances but it would have been different had mignolet made the save.

07 Mar 2016 11:11:22
I thought we deserved the win Muscat, down to 10men and we Wer the better side, most chances on goal, most chances on target and it was a definite penalty, how Wer we gifted the win? We deserved it through hunger and desire.

07 Mar 2016 11:14:21
Well I don't look at it that way Lavers, he's there to make saves, that's his job, on the day of the final I said to everybody if we are going to win then Migs needs to have a good game, he did but he made a mistake that cost us the cup, no other way to look at it Lavers lol.

07 Mar 2016 11:23:10
Also I totally agree with Ed001 about Begovic, get him for next to nothing and he is as safe as houses that boy.

07 Mar 2016 11:34:16
I googled Liverpool FC mistakes and the Metro have something saying we would be 2nd in the league if it wasn't for his mistakes, which is what I thought, he's crap! . lol.

07 Mar 2016 11:47:26
Hahaha "the metro" always good for facts, and stats.

07 Mar 2016 12:03:58
Sugar, we may have been the better side but that's not the point, we scored two goals from Palace errors, therefore, by the way you're counting, we shouldn't have those three points.

As for Migs are you going to count the points he's won for us? It's harder to quantify but there are certainly games this season where his performance has contributed to us getting results.

Not saying he's the right GK for us but I'm not a fan of attacking players and your follow up posts have a distinct whiff to them.

07 Mar 2016 12:07:44
Mings has cost us at least 15 pts this season due to really silly mistakes that would shame a Sunday league goalkeeper.

07 Mar 2016 12:25:30
A distinct whiff?!? What ya mean Muscat?

07 Mar 2016 12:55:31
Because it seems the motivation for your post was to cast the blame for our season on certain players and that's something I find distasteful. There are 11 players on the pitch and each takes a share of the glory when we win and a share of the blame when we lose.

I will never argue that Migs is a top class goalie but coming out with a statement, like Savvyxone has, that Migs has cost us 15 points this season, is simply not accurate.

First of all when Migs makes a mistake it's a contributing, but not determining, factor in the result of a game. Second of all not every mistake Migs has made has been in games where we've dropped points and thirdly it doesn't take into account the contribution he's made when we've won points.

If we had a different keeper we may well have more points but it's more likely to be a small handfull than an amount that would propel us to the top of the league.

07 Mar 2016 12:37:42
I wonder what Ed001's view on Migs if he's about?

{Ed001's Note - I think I have made it clear I think he is nowhere near Premier League level, let alone top half.}

07 Mar 2016 13:41:26
Thank you Ed001, 100% agree.

07 Mar 2016 13:44:06
Well there you go Muscatred, your last paragraph is my point exactly, if we had a better keeper then we would have more points! So what you whiffing about? . lol.

07 Mar 2016 14:10:48
have a word sugar mate, it's not that black and white. barring wonder goals, EVERY goal we concede is due to a mistake by someone.

are we also going to count absolute sitters that players have missed or 1 on 1's with the keeper that should have been tucked away.

mignolet is poor and there's no escaping that but to say he has single handedly cost us those points is far too simplistic.

07 Mar 2016 16:28:58
Interesting theory. If no team makes a mistake all games would end 0:0 leaving every team with 38 points after the 38 games. This means all teams could either parade the PL trophy in their city or all teams would be relegated - depending on the applicable regulations. Eds, what would happen in this case? (yes, I am at work and a bit bored and in desperate need of a beer. )

{Ed001's Note - I have absolutely no idea. Toin coss?}

07 Mar 2016 16:46:04
People are correct in saying that every mistake can not be down to mingolet, at times the defence have left him seriously exposed.

The only problem is the goalkeeper passes his confidence on to the defence, so if the defence are unsure about the keeper that too adds more pressure onto the back line.

07 Mar 2016 09:20:35
So Saint Pardew didn't think it was fair it was not a penalty. LET HE WHO NOT SINNED THROW THE FIRST STONE. Welcome to football.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

07 Mar 2016 11:10:40
If was a soft penalty but the defender made contact so its a penalty.

Daft challenge really benteke was probably going to run it out for a goal kick.

07 Mar 2016 08:44:05
Hi Eds, .

Dont you think its time for liverpool to sell sturridge. I think its all about fitness. If you cannot play even 50% of games, then it will end up as luxury.

Ill rather stick with origi, ben, firmino and ings.

Thank you.

Believable1 Unbelievable11

{Ed001's Note - no, Klopp is being careful with him that's all. Easing him back to full fitness. Why would you want Benteke? He is unwanted and not good enough. Has Ings managed 50% of games for us yet? Just get off the lad's back, he would have played if he was chosen, Klopp decided to leave him out of the last two matches to let him recover properly from the cup final.}

07 Mar 2016 10:42:45
Sturridge fit is only behind aguero as the best striker in the league, he changes us a team on his own.

You have to remember he's been out for 18months and will need time to get back to full fitness and match sharpness.

If we tried to sell Sturridge we are never going to get the 20mil the papers say west ham will offer, firstly because of his injury record and secondly because of the wages he's on.

I'd much rather we kept him and manage him back to fitness as we are, and hope that through the prime of his career he gets over his past problems and repays the club and fans for standing by him. (Maybe not the last one as fans are on his back)

07 Mar 2016 11:37:26
I still believe benteke will come good. He always has chances when he plays a lot more than the other strikers it's just unfortunate they are not going in at the minute.

07 Mar 2016 11:43:20
He is on high wages, that means its luxury.

07 Mar 2016 11:53:44
Jerrin

A luxury which many teams won't take a chance on.

So sturridge stays or we sell him for next to nothing.

07 Mar 2016 14:42:15
Benteke has the ability i think. But not too sure he will make it at Liverpool. Just purely from what we have seen his work rate and movement isn't what we want, or hasn't been what we want. I think he could if he put the effort in. But he could go to a team which will play completely around him.

07 Mar 2016 17:20:13
he had that once they were called aston villa!

07 Mar 2016 08:34:15
I see Gerrard got off to a winning start in the mls

Galaxy won 4-1 and are sitting top on GD. Gerrard assisted the opening goal.

Hope he finally gets the league title he deserves this season.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

07 Mar 2016 09:32:52
He also gave away possession for their goal. Made me remember why his time was rightly bought to an end for liverpool. Great servant but defo right.

07 Mar 2016 08:30:32
Incredible ending to that game, always love seeing pardew so annoyed if it was the other way around he'd be saying things like that's football and Klopp needs to learn about the premier league. Can and Firmino are really playing well at the moment, I don't expect us to get fourth but hopefully we keep going and finish as high as possible. On another note does anyone think Skrtel will get back into the team? He shouldn't, we look a lot better with Lovren and Sakho.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

07 Mar 2016 09:01:27
Looks like Skrtel is now 4th or 5th choice behind Kolo and Lucas. Probably go behind Gomez too when he is fit.

07 Mar 2016 12:27:37
One of BR's biggest failings for me was with all our defensive issues, he never even tried Lovren and Sakho - I think they started together twice, kept clean sheets both times and were immediately taken apart for the next game.

07 Mar 2016 13:30:50
BR was aweful at defensive football and that much was clear. in fact, he doesn`t even bothered about that aspect of the game. If Skrtel isn`t playing, it`s because the others are better and IMO, have always been better than him. Sahko (solid vs CP), Lovren (a cracking game vs CP and City), Toure (great in the LC both games vs City and Lucas (not even a CB) have shown that when fit and firing, Skrtel is not even fit to make the stands. In fact, I would sell Skrtel and keep Toure where it possible, that`s how much inferior he is to them.

07 Mar 2016 14:44:41
Very true Square tomato mate! Pardew i think just got a bit angry because they were ahead with a 1 man advantage and threw it away.

07 Mar 2016 04:05:59
I've heard that the manc fans have been sent a white away shirt free with each ticket for Thursday.
surely this is just like plastic flags in another disguise.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - I don't get why the plastic flags thing is such a big deal either personally. I would rather my club spent some money on giving something back to the fans to try and create some atmosphere. It is shocking there at times. Look at what Leicester have done with the clappers, it has created a fantastic atmosphere and helped turn them from strugglers to champions. Giving a free away shirt to traveling fans is a good touch if you ask me.}

07 Mar 2016 04:32:32
champions elect ed001 don't jinx them mate.

{Ed001's Note - that was meant to say challenging to be champions. Doh. That is what happens when you accidentally close the window and have to write it out again.}

07 Mar 2016 05:07:45
Ed, I believe context goes a good way towards explaining why people take pot shots at Chelsea for plastic flags. You can start off with how Chelsea fans just dump their plastic flags and leave them behind at the end of games.

I don't understand the animosity about the white shirts though. It's a good gesture to give all of your fans each an away shirt replica that'd normally cost around 85 quid.

07 Mar 2016 05:18:15
Agree with Nick, giving each fan an away shirt for free is a quality gesture, wouldn't fans of our club like a similar reward from the club? I bet you there would be few complaints.

07 Mar 2016 05:30:49
surely it's utds way of thanking the fans for putting up with lvg!

07 Mar 2016 09:03:48
85 quid for a manc shirt?! Deary me.

07 Mar 2016 12:29:56
I think for a home shirt it would be a bit of a weird gesture as you'd expect there to be a fair few shirts around. But for an away day it's an amazing gesture to create the home effect of a wall of colour, and I'd love to see other clubs giving something that expensive to the fans! Although I can't help but feel giving it to the fans who travelled to Denmark to see them flop would have been a nicer gesture but still, better late than never!

{Ed001's Note - Sunderland did it just a few days before.}

07 Mar 2016 12:51:23
Maybe the seas are changing and clubs are realizing that they need to attract the fans a bit as well.

07 Mar 2016 01:16:59
Firmino been added to the Brazil squad in place of Kaka!

07 Mar 2016 05:04:15
Kinda stupid he wasn't part of it anyways.

07 Mar 2016 13:15:40
A sponsor prolly put his foot down.

07 Mar 2016 13:24:46
he is only in because 35year old kaka is injured.

This is my view on our current consistency problems, posted this as a reply on another post, but I want to see this on the main page to get the opinion of others.

I think it is very simple. We are Liverpool, still one of the biggest names in football. The teams that play against us have two main options, try to play their football, or set up to defend and play on the counter.

When teams come out to play we have the space our current group of players require to score goals. Take Man City for an example, they always try to play football against us hence why we tend to score goals. The League Cup Final game, it was obvious from the start city were set up to defend and score on the counter, and we all know how that worked out.

It is easier to play on the counter, it can take a lot out of you but if you're smart and use your chances you can use the space on the counter to great effect. That is what the so called smaller teams do to us, man u are among those teams under Van Gaal, set up to stop us playing as the main priority which is why we struggled.

It is not a lack of consistency, the team doesn't just become worse one game then good the next game. Lack of space makes it harder to play and so harder to score and create chances. We sometimes get outfought which is a bad sign, but can happen on the day to any team.

What the team lack is a player of quality who has just the right movement or quality to find the space or pick the perfect pass (and it has to be perfect pass) to score in such a scenario. What you also require is a good base in defence so when the eventual counter occurs you can see it out without conceding.

We have good players but not world class players. It is something I believe Klopp can change.

It is also important to note the complete lack of goals from corners and set pieces, bar the one Coutinho goal and the Skrtel header. That is because of a total lack of quality of delivery, we do not have a good free kick taker in the team (don't get me started on Milner taking all the corners) . When a team defends well you need a set piece, or like today a penalty to get through.

07 Mar 2016 04:47:52
I agree with what you said. And I have always wondered why can't we also sit back a bit in those games, and try to get to other team to come at us a bit. Then play them on the break?
Surely we can almost predict which teams will do this.

07 Mar 2016 05:28:04
I agree, and I raised the same point a lot earlier on in the season (I think when Newcastle beat us) . City let us play, the rest do not. It's that simple. City let us play because with the squad they have and the money they've spent on it, they are obliged to try and outclass us.

07 Mar 2016 05:41:09
Great post Reus, agree with much of what you said.

I think our ineffectiveness from the wings makes our life difficult against defensive minded opposition. Teams can pack the centre of the field knowing that the threat from out wide is minimal. And when we don't (rightfully in my opinion) play Benteke we have little aerial threat in the middle. I think our lack of genuine wide midfielders, combined with the mediocrity of our fullbacks attacking play (both Moreno and Clyne seemingly unable to cross the ball) makes life difficult for us against certain teams. You've also mentioned that we have a terrible set piece record Reus and that is also a big factor - those goals can tip games in your favour - we sadly seem to score very few of them.

In terms of fullbacks I like Flanagan playing as, even though he isn't the greatest crosser, he is a very astute, aware player. His positioning is really very good and he rarely over commits himself up front. You could argue that Clyne is quicker and perhaps more dangerous going forward (I would contest that opinion) but ultimately Flanagan is far better at keeping possession, better at reading the game and I think a shoe-in for right back. At left-back Moreno's continual selection is bizarre: he gets in the way of team mates, has no positional awareness, is a poor crosser and passer of the ball and cannot take a man on. I know that Brad Smith has some defensive issues to iron out in his game but honestly I don't think he is any worse than Moreno and, going forward, he is far, far better. I thought he offered a real attacking outlet when he played and that he really stretched and pressured the opposition. On top of that he can actually cross a ball! A rarity in our squad. I think he needs to be given games as he not only deserves it but I think his presence could really make a difference to how successful we are as a team against more turgid opposition - the ability to stretch play and give opposition something else to think about creates space for those special players like Coutinho, Firmino and Sturridge to make a difference.

07 Mar 2016 05:44:56
Width. Width is what we lack. If you watch Liverpool goals, hardly any come about through quality wing play. It is always straight down middle. The 3 goals against man city, the 2 goals against palace, its all down middle. Once a team squeeze us out in middle, our goals dry up. And we have done nothing to change it and that is how Westham pawnzed us 3x this season, its the same with ManU and when play city in league cup final.

07 Mar 2016 07:28:00
Seano and Lee are right. Lack of decent wide play and set piece work is the reason we can't get the better of teams.
Off the top of my head I can only think of Kolo vs Villa (6th goal) being the only goal directly from a corner in an Age.
Getting to the bi line and cutting one back to smash home is rare also. I feel Klopp will be looking at wingers, probably why Markovic has been brought up lately also.

07 Mar 2016 08:21:29
I also feel lack of width is why we concede . Our only width in attack comes from Moreno and Clyne, who can't even cross . We loose the ball then we are on the back foot when defending, the players in the centre are getting pulled out wide to cover our missing full backs so we never really get set in time to stop the opposition attacking . Our defenders constantly seem to get the wrong side of the attacker

Until we sort the width out we will concede and fail to score.

07 Mar 2016 09:09:19
We concede because these players were 'coached' by Brendan Rodgers for 3 years.

07 Mar 2016 09:19:37
to be fair we are attacking from the middle because we don't have players who can provide width.

klopp has to do the best he can with the squad available to him, which does mean attacking from the middle for the most part i guess.

07 Mar 2016 09:25:22
It's like what most of us and the Eds have already said, we lack quality in certain areas.

07 Mar 2016 10:23:01
I agree with the other posters, we don't have any width, all the make shift players who play on the wing want to cut in and play through the middle i. e Coutinho, Lallana and Milner.

In a game that is tight and the opposition is set up well defensively, it is the wing area where you can find the space in behind. A quick move with a winger and the fullback can get us in behind the defence for a good cross or cut back.

We don't have a player who on the wing who can take on the fullback and create space like that, we require a passing move to get through which is not going to work every time. Nor do we have someone who can make a late diagonal run in to the box, which is important when the striker is heavily marked.

This is why I think a genuine world class winger is the biggest priority, even more so than replacing Mignolet (a very close second) . I am all for giving Markovic a chance, giving Ibe time to develop, giving other youth players like Ojo a chance. But like Arsenal did with Sanchez a real world class player can change our fortune and attacking threat massively.

07 Mar 2016 09:15:49
Main, Brendan claimed it was Uncoachable.

07 Mar 2016 12:42:20
You're right DG my mistake! Somehow Jurgen has worked out how to coach defence though and Lovren is looking more like the player we thought we were getting 😏.

07 Mar 2016 13:00:29
more like Rodgers could not be arsed! mate, still he had other things to occupy his time.

07 Mar 2016 13:53:34
Like shinning his teeth and looking like a joke in the media with his pathetic remarks. How he got the job in retrospect, beggars belief, really, KK.

06 Mar 2016 22:43:00
One for Ed1 if he's about? Just watching us lately it is obvious we are very easy to break against. Why do you think this is? Watching the game today I feel that Hendo and Can have poor positioning when we are in possession. They both get to close to the opposition box so when we lose it they are too easy to bypass. Added to that the centre back still tend to sit deep so there is a huge gap between the midfield and defence? What are your thoughts and how can it be rectified?

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - they are getting close to the box to get on the end of things, the issue could be easily rectified by having one sit deeper while the other stays up. Having said that, once they get the hang of it, it could well be that we add more goals than we concede through doing it and so it might turn out to be better to keep both up. Instead hold a full back in place.}

07 Mar 2016 05:50:04
I would have Henderson sit deep and can staying up in that case.

07 Mar 2016 09:16:46
Henderson lacks discipline and intelligence to read the game to sit back and dictate the game. I would playing him higher up the pitch.

07 Mar 2016 11:19:21
Henderson not good enough technically. Been watching him closely lately and the guy does not have the ability to control a game. Just watch when an opposing player is within 10 yards of him he will not turn out and open up the game. Instead he will just play it back to where it came from. He literally plays the way he is facing every time which in turn ends up putting us under unnecessary pressure.

07 Mar 2016 11:56:18
Bench him and strip his captaincy to wake hendo up. He's trying to F the referee abd linesman for every decision against us. I mean once a while if its unfair but he does it everytime and data inviting trouble and setting a bad example.

{Ed001's Note - I see Hendo has become the latest target of the boo boys.... It doesn't matter what he does it is used as a stick to beat him with. We have far bigger problems than him.}

07 Mar 2016 12:39:00
As I said before - if Sturridge was refusing to play until he was fully fit rather than fight through injury, then looking at how people are treating Hendo it's not hard to see why!

07 Mar 2016 12:44:28
It was Can a while back, now Hendo. For me Hendo is a big part of the excellent team spirit at the moment (along with Kloppo) . He leads by example and bleeds red. He's playing in the double pivot with Emre and doing it well considering he was out for 5 months.

07 Mar 2016 13:07:31
it seems the club captain is not fit for purpose, where is the proof he ca'nt sit deep, he has no discipline etc, a few weeks back it was can that was useless now its Henderson that is getting beaten down, the lack of support for a man who is playing through pain for us is shocking, well he has beaten the boo-boys once, I expect him to beat them again.

07 Mar 2016 13:56:23
KK, give it a rest, mate. These bashers always pick on their fav for that month. It was shako, then Luca, then Can and now Hendo, a man playing with injury and gutting it out for the cause. So much for the "best fans in the world" tag. Some are rank pathetic.

07 Mar 2016 15:31:07
For me it is his technique that is lacking. Just watch him closely next game he plays. He has no confidence in receiving the ball in tight spaces and even when he has got a little space he just plays the way he is facing. For me it is not the latest bashing, I have always felt this way about his cm play. For example yesterday there was a passage of play when he got the ball from the left back and instead of him turning out and opening up the game he just played it straight back to the same player that just gave him the ball which put pressure on the defender as he was getting closed down and we ended up losing the ball. Henderson does this all of the time!

07 Mar 2016 17:23:20
and the clubs anthem is you'll never walk alone eh redohio, the club captain cannot even get our support.
