Is there any chance that Ricardo Rodriguez could join in the summer his probably been the best player in his position this season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't think so.}

Ed is this simply because we haven't shown any interest in him as yet?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I could think of a number of reasons - but I really would not hold your breath about him joining Liverpool this summer.}

Question for the eds. With the recent debt announcement plus ffp. If we do get top 4 will our hands be effectively tied as to how much we could invest in players and wages?

Suarez saying he's not writing off a move to Serie A, and he has a phenomenal amount of respect for Mario Ballotelli. Is there any chance he will move to Serie A? And if so, AC Milan sound top candidates?

Right lads have something to tell you lot i'm a young Dublin lad who has only been to 2 matches 1. Was bayern leverkusen 2005

Without sounding rude, what point are you trying to make here? I'm just a bit confused!

Liverpool U18's warm up for their quarter final in the FA youth cup against Reading at the Madjeski on Wed 12th with a trip tomorrow morning to play Manchester United at the AON training complex in Manchester (Carrington) at 11am GMT. The match coverage starts at 10:30 on LFCTV and online. Critchley's young Reds are hoping to record a double over United after an impressive 3-1 win at the Academy on December 7. The young Reds will be looking to close the gap at the top. They are currently in 3rd place in the table 8pts behind neighbours Everton with a game in hand. Man City occupy 2nd place behind Everton a point behind but well placed with 2 games in hand. United themselves sit in 5th place 6 points of the Reds but have 2 games in hand also.

Much improved performance from Liverpool in the 2nd half.The highlight was a beautiful team goal on 76mins.Jordan Lussey picked up the ball in his own half and threaded a long pass to Cameron Brannigan who made his way to the left of the penalty area. He fizzed a ball across the 6 yard box for Jack Dunn who lashed it into the back of the net ahead of his marker. The match ended 2-0. Sakho came off after 70 mins having stretched to block in his own area and thankfully only seemed to suffer cramp. The substitution was planned but still had the bench looking on nervously with the physio in attendance. Lucas seemed to ask the bench to stay on the field and played the full 90mins. The victory moved the reds to within a point of Fulham at the top of the table with a game in hand. Mom was Jack Dunn who was fantastic all across the front line. All in all a very positive 90mins for all concerned.

Great goal there by the U21's! Lovely ball through by Lussey for Brannagan, who squared it for Dunn to tap it home! 2-0!

Whilst we are all dreaming about a champions league place, barring Istanbul and the game against the Greeks maybe, what other European moments do folks remember?

I was at anfield for the 8-0 besiktas, remember their fans dancing round the ground 2 hours before hand!

Although my fan is bellers at the non camp with the golf swing.

Chris the red man iv just read what has been going on and I'd like to say I hope all is still well and little jack going strong like you said football doesn't matter when there is more important things in life like that little lad my boy done exactly the same when he was born just not as bad and when they take them away it's heart breaking but he made a full recovery and now 14 months on a little sh*t . For some reason these bunch of rag a muffins on here feel like family Even the closet red DG but it has always been the Liverpool way we are close bunch of supporters and stick by each other through thick and thin so here is to the miracle they have called jack and too hopefully a full recovery and let's hope he brings another mirical with him and brings the title home too even though if not the one mirical will do another season wouldn't hurt all the best mate

Liverpool take the lead in very fortunate circumstances a minute into injury time in the first half. Peterson takes a tame shot in West Hams box and ricochets of a West Ham player onto Jack Dunn's side and goes past the keeper who probably should have done better.
West Ham will feel really hard done by as they had the better opportunities in the 1st half and seeing a shot come back off the post. An excellent 45mins for Sakho who looked composed at the back and passed the ball very well. Lucas looked calm and assured and got forward very well. A very even game at this stage and Alex Ingelthorpe will be delighted going in ahead at the break.

I think a solution not very expensive and that works, is Mikah richards. I went on youtube and watched a few matches with lacazzette from lyon . is an exciting player . has something of luis suarez . I think for 10 million is a good target. YNWA

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Richards is injury prone and I'm pretty sure he is a bit arrogant? And wages would be an issue! Furthermore, city would not need or want to sell, as he is probably the best sub right back in Europe?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate just because Richards is an extrovert with a sense of humour doesn't mean he is arrogant. In fact, I find him to be the exact opposite and would be a sensible replacement for both Agger & Kelly. In one player you have a more physical, faster, younger player that also plays right back. He could cost us only around 40-50% of what we would make from selling both Agger and Kelly and at only 50% of the wages which could work in Johnson's favour. Sakho, Skrtel, Kolo, Richards, Coates, Ilori, Wisdom aren't bad options at CB. 1 of Ilori & Wisdom might have to be loaned out again & Coates sold though.

on Lacazette yeah I like his mini Drogba/Suarez style. He would be a good option for 3rd striker and he would definitely keep SAS on form. Might cost a little more than that £10million but offer Aspas in the deal, that would hit two birds with one stone.

I've got to agree with everything you say mate we take the piss wind each other up but when we are faced with the real things in life like what you have been going through its nice to know you have a good network of friends. And although the majority of us have never met I hope that through this site no matter how far apart in the world we all are that we can remain friends and keep everything sweet amongst each other. Hi to Eds and Fellow Reds

Been reading about what result would we wish for when our opponents/rivals play each other. I've spent hours working out permutations of what would be/ could be results.
Gradually I came to the conclusion that 'it does not matter' what their results are; we should just go for it in all our games and see what happens, which I believe it to be a lovely ending to our season.

The most crucial 10 games of the past few seasons. go for it boys, our strike force is truly scary!

I am an American wanting to get a ticket to the Man City game. I know the club put tickets on sale 21 days before the game, or so the website says. What time do they go on sale? Midnight? 6am? 8am? Please help a yank out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hey Reignman. Tickets go on sale to general public 3/13 @10am CST. If you sign up for the email notification from the International Champions Cup website you are invited to the pre-sale on 3/11 @ 10am CST.

I'm heading to the Charlotte match and glad I got on the pre-sale, the good tickets went fast. Enjoy!

Agree0 Disagree0

I am referring to the game in Liverpool 4/13/2014. Anyone know when these go on sale?

Agree0 Disagree0

You will have to check the fixtures list on the official site daily under selling information to keep an eye out for the general sale as they have not released a date for them yet! If you are a member, you will have a chance to buy them but they are going like hotcakes these days. Usually they are on sale 8:15am UK time but this will be specified when they are available. Hope this helps.

I'm suprised that no one mentioned our own Raheem Sterling as a shoo-in for young player of the year if he continues anything like the form he's had recently. He's currently the best winger in the league and his Jamaican connections don't hurt with me either ;). I think it's got to be between Shaw and Sterling.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sturridge, Hazzard and Ramsey all qualify as "Young Player", which is laughable IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

Put your money on Januzaj.
Why? Because he plays for Manchester United so automatically he will win and secondly, the FA want him to choose England as his country to play internationally. FFS he was nominated for Young Sports Personality of the year after playing 2 games.

Just been trying to get Sunderland tickets on general sale both online and by phone
Piss up in a brewery springs to mind
Online the system shows availability but does not allow a purchase and the phone line is just busy (0843 number presumably premium rate)
The club really need to find a better way of doing this as the current system is frankly b. cks

I suppose many others had the same issue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah me too. Must have cost me a fortune repeatedly ringing. Managed to get online but there was only adult/junior seats left. I think every man, woman and his dog wants to go the match now were playing sublime football.

Think in future I'll make sure I set a reminder on my phone and get some tickets in the members sale.

Armchair support it is then!

Gordy

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed fellas it is near impossible to get tickets these days in the general members sale. Was logged in and queuing at 8am for Arsenal tickets and by the time I got on they were sold out and that was at 8:15 when they were apparently released! Members sale in July FTW I think.

Lucas Leiva will be part of the Liverpool U21s squad that takes on West Ham United on Friday night – exclusively live on LFC TV and online from 6.30pm GMT.
The midfielder has been ruled out of first-team action since January after suffering a knee injury, but will begin his return to competitive football with Alex Inglethorpe's team at the Rush Green Stadium.

Kick-off is at 7pm.

Wondering what peoples thoughts are on the weekends fixtures. Do we want a Chelsea win and therefore solidify our 4th place over spurs, or hoe for a draw or spurs win to further our chances of finishing higher in the league? same goes for the spurs v arsenal/chelsea v arsenal fixtures- never felt this about a Liverpool season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Mar 2014 10:45:10
How about a draw?, Perfect.

Agree0 Disagree0

A draw is good. Best of both worlds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Draw for me.
Although I have been saying just focus on our own games and especially just the next one. Its getting harder to do haha

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather a Spurs win and just worry about our own performances. At the moment we're 2nd and I'd rather look up than look behind.

Agree0 Disagree0

A draw would be the ideal situation. It would mean that should we beat Chelsea we will be above them. The same goes for the manchester derby - a draw would be the perfect scenario. We would than have the title to lose. However in the meantime we have to get past the website (Webb sight!).

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2014 11:19:07
But I don't see spurs scoring a goal at the Bridge, Chelsea on the other hand would sneak one in and then defend whole night.
Sours have been such poor, I just don't get how did they manage 50+ points?, they have hardly been in the spotlight, How many scrappy 1-0 wins do they have with them?.
I expect Arsenal and villa to pose threat than spurs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see a goal fest between Chelsea and Spurs. Could a boring game and hopefully a draw.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was thinking about this last night. I think for now I'd take a Chelsea win as I think winning the title would just put untold amounts of pressure on the players next season. I'd love to end a 24 year drought but gaining Champions League football is far more important for the time being in my eyes.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2014 12:36:05
HSF,

But, Mate you ll have to start all over again next seaosn.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2014 12:59:55
I'm lost hsf. You'd rather Champions League football and a 2ns to 4th place finish than winning the league + Champions league football?

I sort of see your point regarding pressure, but don't you also think it could instill a winning mentality into the youngsters in the side at an early age? We want the likes of Hendo, Flanno, Kelly, Allen, Coutinho, Sturridge and Sterling to spend the next decade in the team beleiving they are Champions. Plus this could be Gerrard last chance as he's only got a couple more years. I think we should aim to win every single game. If you can do that, you'll win every competition you enter. Sakho, Toure, Suarez and Sturridge are the only players in our entire squad with league winners medals as far as I know. Not sure how Agger and Skrtel did at Brondby and Zenit in termsw of titles but we don't have that many winners in our team right now. We want every single player to have tasted it to make them hungry for more.

Being only 20 I have never experienced a title win. I can't even imagine the elation you must feel as a fan. If its anything like how I felt 9 years ago as a young boy when I watched us win the Champions league, I want it all and I want it now!

I am desperately trying not to catch Youtube fever but has anyone else had a blimp at Alexandre Lacazette, holy smoke, I can't even tell whether he is right or left footed .

I have just watched him put the goalkeeper and a defender on their backsides by dummying to shoot left-footed at the near post before switching to his right and curling it in at the far post, all in the blink of an eye .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He is a good player and has stepped up this season but I rather we give Borini a shot than spend a fortune trying to price him away from Lyon, who will no doubt want a big fee from the English clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Trouble with Youtube is you only see the best bits; sometimes hard to tell the quality of the opposition. however saying that he does look like he has some ball control and pace.

Possibly an option if we decide Konyo is too expensive (transfer and salary).

Agree0 Disagree0

Going with AG, Borini for me. BR's a fan I suppose.

07 Mar 2014 09:27:13
Ed01, do you have your own superstitutions before Liverpool play their game? Also, I know you have been expounding on taking it one game at a time, but I'm sure at the back of your mind you have a ballpark figure of how many points we need to secure 4th/3rd place. Can you share with us, in your opinion, how many more wins we need to get there?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I have hundreds mate, it has even got to the point where I have to be served by one particular fella in Tesco the day before a game. He thinks it is hilarious as I will wait in a huge queue, if need be, no matter how many new checkouts they open up, if we are playing the day after. What I wear, which mug I use to have my tea in, etc etc. I had managed to start cutting back on them in recent years, all the ones I had previously built up were lost after a few defeats, so I now have all new ones to replace them.
I honestly haven't even thought about that, I try not to look at the table, it is one of my superstitions I have gained this season.}

07 Mar 2014 10:38:57
The closest I have to a superstition is that I have to follow the game. If I can't watch I need to follow a web site on my phone or get it on the radio. I have only not followed two games all season in any way shape or form. The home loss to Southampton and the away loss to Arsenal! And as far as I know, they are the only games we've failed to score in. I of course haven't let it happen since! Even if we are the early kick off on Saturday, I'll make sure I check the score before my own game (basically pub football), at half time, and straight away after the game.

YNWAdam

Agree0 Disagree0

You better watch the UTD game Adam!

My superstition is that I have to lean forward in my chair, place the remote at a certain place on the table besides me and keep the volume on the TV at a ridiculously high level.

Oh, that and keep the Girlfriend happy. We always seem to do very well when she is particularly happy with me, even though I am couple of continents away from her now.

07 Mar 2014 12:52:37
I'll make sure I don't miss it! Even if I have to (gulps) tell the Missus where to go!

YNWAdam

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a framed signed Gerrard shirt that the missus bought me for Xmas last year, I touch that the morning of the game then I touch every scarf one after the other as I pass them (on the wall), red boxers+ red socks and always a home shirt, never wear an away strip.
And like the real AG said if I'm
Not at anfield the tv sound has to be as close to the anfield noise as it can get without bursting the speakers

Agree0 Disagree0

I've not put Sturridge in me fantasy football team once this season as I am afraid I will inadvertently cause him to slip into bad form.

Agree0 Disagree0

I never wear a LFC shirt @ home or whether I go up to Anfield! After about 5 drab results a while back I stopped haha

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2014 09:38:33
Hi EDs

I don't know you can answer the question like this or not.

But Is is please be possible if you give me players who are interested by LFC for coming summer window transfer?

Thank you.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

Federal, it has been suggested that we will go back in for Konoplyanka and we have interest in centre mids Hughes and Dani Parejo. Also the Bertrand is of interest for left back. There are other clubs interested in Konop and we have looked at Gaitan as a possibility. That's what I believe to be firm, anything else is perhaps speculative but anything can happen of course.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dezmondo, good summary. However, I don't believe we have any interest in Bertrand anymore. He was of interest before his move and since then Flanagan has done well and Cissokho has been solid and Johnson has returned from injury.

I wonder if there is interest in Ashley Cole? Seems the kind of signing BR would be interested in; a top player who has found game time difficult and would consider playing for a "BIG" team as opposed to moving into leisure leagues like the middle east or America.

Agree0 Disagree0

AG, IMO we do still have interest in Bertrand, Eds can you add to this? As for Cole I really can't see us being interested he is the wrong age to start with and his salary will be higher than GJ so a no go for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Bertrand will be one option for the club - they will look around to see what other options there might be as well.}

07 Mar 2014 13:34:39
I am regretting my post already as I know Ed02 has pointed out that there is interest in Cole from MLS.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Ashley Cole would likely be too expensive to make a move to Liverpool viable.}

Kolo was at a similar situation Cole before he joined us, so I can see Cole being an option. I still think he is a very good player (just my opinion) and would bring his CL experience to the club.

If one of Enrigue/Johnson and one of Agger/Skrtel were to leave, that would perhaps make accommodating Cole's significant wages a possibility if he agrees to a wage cut.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has shown no interest in Cole. Even though the club cannot talk to the player he is aware of a number of options. The MLS is one. A very significant offer from Turkey is another. There is interest from one EPL side but it is not Liverpool and I understand they stepped back when the costs were mentioned. Potentially he could stay at Chelsea another year still.}

07 Mar 2014 09:32:05
Got a question for you all, who do you think will win player of the season for the prem? I can only realy see it being Suarez but can anyone justify any other players that might challenge him to it? Ed am I right in thinking the players player votes are done in Jan/Feb time?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - The vote is indeed done around now. The FWA vote is a little later.}

I don't think you can look past Suarez on this one, on stats alone, 23 games: 24 goals and 19 assists, that's almost a goal and an assist every game, he's on fire, also he's behaved this season :)
Who else can they look at; Aguero, Yaya, Hazard, that's about it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Given he was booed at last years, awards it might not be that straight forward. I would think Yaya, Hazard, Ramsey will be in the mix even Sturridge.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would say that if Suarez doesn't get player of the season award, then clearly it is just a farce and should never be taken seriously again.

Regardless of who the nominations are, no one in the league comes close to Suarez in terms of performance plus the fact his behaviour has been impeccable this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

See I agree that Sturridge would of had a great chance bt the injuries that have meant missing a few games will I think be taken into account. That period before Christmas when Suarez was unstoppable will win him it I think. I made a prediction at the start of he season that Suarez would win it and Coutinho would be young player of the year but I think that one has gone due to inconsistency, maybe Henderson might be in with a shout, he has been brilliant so far

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2014 11:08:16
If Suarez doesn't win it they might as well not bother with it in future. It would lose all credability and be worthless to any future winners. He is top in the chances created, goals scored and assists charts. He has 24 goals and 10 assists. The other 9 are all not considered to be assists (eg winning a penalty that is converted, or if the rebound from his shot is scored). Regardless though, he has been sensational and 34 direct involvements in goals in just 23 games is unbelievable. He is the best player on the planet right now and even the Ballon D'or has to be considered. Although Ronaldo has also been sensational.

YNWAdam

It has to be Suarez. No one has come close to his level this season. His stats are impressive and he makes things happen. I agree with an earlier post that if he doesn't win it this year, then the award/voting is just a farce.

Sturridge, Hazzard, Yaya, Aguero, Gerrard and Ramsey have all been very good, but Suarez has been playing at a different level.

Since studge was 23 at the start of the season he could win young player, although I think Shaw will get that one. Suarez HAS to be nailed on fir player if the year.

{Ed002's Note - Keep in mind he missed a chunk of the season due to a lengthy ban for biting another player.}

Ed02, I slightly disagree, But then How about the transformation of an evil monster to one of the most humble Person,
If Past was the only thing to be considerd, I would like many would end up in the middle of Atlantic.
He has been outstanding, scoring, assisting, tracking back, responsible being the Cpatain, cheering everthing in the best possitive way.
If he had the opportunity to play centrally, he would have broke the goals records by now.

{Ed002's Note - I think you will find that there are plenty of players who still consider him to be a nasty piece of work and a pretty poor example of a human being - regardless of your views or mine.}

Hi ed, thanks for commenting back, I agree some players may take his past into consideration which is a shame as he has in my opinion being fantastic this season, just out of interst I'd love it if you said who you thought should win it, I know sometimes you don't like putting your opinions forward because of the stupid abuse but I'd love to get a non reds view on it! cheers mate

{Ed002's Note - I don't see any reason to discount Sturridge. I would think Yaya Toure, Aguero and Eden Hazard would be in the mix as well.}

Very diplomatic answer there ed! yeah I agree that they will be the most likely contenders, I think yaya is a great player, he'd be a fantastic fit for us and also your blues!

Ed02, Absolutely, A thief once caught, always remains as a theif whole life, No matter he wins the Nobel for Peace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez has been the best player in the league by some distance- just don't expect him to be officially acknowledged for it.

Personally I see Hazard winning it though he wouldn't be my choice - if not Suarez i'd go Yaya Toure.

Hi all
I am in need of some help.
Trying to get tickets for my son who is 13 soon and as a birthday surprise is to take him to a home game.
Unfortunately this morning tickets for Sunderland and Spurs went on general sale and basically was told all sold out by the time it got to me.
Would be really grateful if anybody can help.

Suso is staying! *moonwalks over to the toaster*.

How did you get to that conclusion?

Left foot first, then right.

Laughable.

We all now you can't moonwalk mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

My deepest and humblest apologies AG, after some practice, your great knowledge of the 'moonwalk' has transcended upon my right foot. Now that we have the correct order of foot placement organised, I hope this will be a satisfactory conclusion to the matter.

Is that you Arsene?, you been staring through those binoculars again?

You sometimes have to ask why you bother Adam. The art of debating without abuse is a lost art. A look at the Manchester United banter page would put us to shame.

I'm just putting it in the past Rover mate. I can't stand the arguing. All football fans are going to have their own ideas on how the game should be played and what players are the best at playing the game. I can accept that, and just wanted others to accept it too. Each to their own and all that. I won't be holding any grudges though. We're all Liverpool fans here. Well, except that invader Dagenham Gunner who thinks he can just waltz in here and eat at the same table! The cheek of it ;) I suppose he's better than Disney and DaveyBoyBlue though. They wouldn't know banter if John Bishop wrote a 1000 page book about it and Seamus (WWE) smashed it through their skulls!

Any chance that we could move for Wanyama in the summer? I tink he is exactly what we need.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As a Southampton AND Liverpool fan, he's a brilliant enforcer type player, but I worry that his technical play is not really enough for either team. In a team where dominating midfield is the aim, you need a player that can play the ball as well as win it back. Southampton's ability to create chances is a lot greater when Jack Cork is playing instead of Wanyama. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but those are my thoughts.

Cheers
