Can't wait for LFC v Spurs, arranged Mother's Day Sunday lunch for 6pm. Delayed the Outlaws as much as possible, harder than you think. Hope Spurs tired out after Europe, got a good feeling, we are playing some good stuff at the moment. 2-1 maybe 3-1.

You don't get tired when your winning

You saying that as a Liverpool supporter or Spurs?

07 Mar 2013 19:16:52
Musacchio, de vrijj, zouma, honda, diame, aubameyang.

All realistic targets, can the eds let me know whether we may try and get them or not?

Cheers

man for man

Liverpool v spurs

reina v lloris spurs
johnson v walker draw
carra v gallas draw
agger v vertonghen draw
enrique v ekotto draw
parker v lucas draw
demebele v gerrard draw
bale v suarez draw
lennon v downing spurs
siggurdson v coutinho draw
sturridge v defoe Liverpool

its pretty close really. looks like this game could be a draw

Dembele Gerrard draw? Behave.

Johnson is better than Walker, Gerrard is better than Dembele, Coutinho is better than Sigurdsson, and Suarez is better than Bale. For me anyway

Enrique is much better than ekotto. Other than that I agree, maybe dembele pipping gerrard.

I can see a draw on the cards

07 Mar 2013 21:20:39
I think you are wrong on a few of those -

Walker/Johnson - We edge this on Glen's experience, and him being more mature

Gerrard/Dembele - Gerrard would have to loss a leg for Dembele to anywhere near as good as Stevie has been for the last ten years, and still is as has been shown recently (and by the assist and time on the field stats)

Suarez/Bale - whatever the British media wants us to believe, Luis is much better. Bale may run Spur's show, but Suarez is more complete player and a genuine footballing genius

Coutinho/Sigg - Coutinho has done more in two games than Gylfi has done this whole season for Spurs. Probably unlikely Gylfi will play, but Coutinho still looks better.

There are arguments all over

you could arge defoe is better thansturridge

or vice versa

same with gerrard ad dembele

the point was its very close man for man. there really isn't much between them

re suarez v bale both are in form at the moment

Also dembele is very underated imo
he bossed inter tonight. he has a greater energy level than stevie. hence why I gave it a draw

Re coutinho v siggi

siggi has 2 goals in 3 games, couitnho hasone goal and 2 assists in two games

not much seperating them really

And this is exactly how football works.

07 Mar 2013 22:20:57
Gylfi also has 1 goal and 4 assists in 24 matches in the Premier League, Coutinho has 1 goal and 2 assists in 3 Premier League matches.

Tom are you like 12?

You'd have to be a person to put Gerard and Dembele in the same bracket Gerard is still one of the top midfielders and is a great captain.

And sig has played for spurs since the start of the season not made much of an impact and coutinho made an impact after 2 games.

Could say a few more but cba

Londonred

Is dembele fit for sunday

Parker dembele bale and sigurdsson are completly wrong

Walker is better defensively johnson better attacking

I can't think of any stage in the match where most of those battles will happen. When does one right back mark another and when will the two centerforwards come up against eachother? Apart from setpieces.

Just watching Inter showing us how NOT to play against Spurs on Sunday

Inter are awful. lazy and no creativity at all.

Roy

From what i've seen, against Inter and Arsenal, either we atack from the get-go or we're f***ed. We need to get thier full-backs down and push them in their own half. If we press high up the pitch, and meintain throughout the game pressing, they'll crack.

07 Mar 2013 22:46:35
If you watched towards the end when they got inter on a counter they are lightning no way could Liverpool keep up with them so pushing to high up the pitch is very risky only way they will score against us sunday is through there pace.

Yeah because it's not like Vertongen can nick a goal from a corner (look at how many corners we've got this year) it's not like bale can score a goal out of nothing from 30yards, it's not like Defoe is a natural born goal scorer and can score from anywhere in and around the box. I could go on (Dembele, sigurdson, Holtby) but in the end it's only our pace that's a worry. I hope BR is as naive as you!

All those ways you could score are irrelevant unless you think we aren't going to play a defence?

Well of course your going to play with a defence but what is that supposed to mean, you've played with a defence all season and still conceded goals. I don't get your point?

Clean sheet on sunday for peps.

07 Mar 2013 20:47:00
its going to be some game on sunday

there isn't that much between us and spurs man for man

dembele is having a monster game tonight imo

tom1975

I think you will find there is 12 points between us.

9 as of sunday

Plus we didn't have 2 first teamers coutinho and sturridge all season

Coutinho and sturridge were not our players at the start of the season, so why make out they were out injured or something

Coutiniho has played 2 games and you all talk about him as if he's your saviour. Counting chickens are we? It's easy to look good when the team is playing well but spurs will be more of a test

I don't think he's talking about our Jan signings like they were injured, he's just pointing out that most of the 12 point gap between us was made in a part of the season where we had a different squad. On form of the past 15 games, we are very close to each other

Question, how many games have you lost over the last 15? For spurs it's 1. I'm interested to see if your statement is correct many thanks!

Actually on form of the last 15 ( starting when we last beat you) we are 10 points better off than Liverpool. In that time you've lost 4 games as opposed to 1 game spurs have lost! So you where actually closer to us in the first half of the season!

07 Mar 2013 20:14:12
How did chelsea do tonight?

I heard that rafa and torres have also recruited benayoun to push ahead with the mission.

07 Mar 2013 19:49:06
Parker playing for spurs, he can't play 3 games in a week be surprised if he gets through tonights game, dembele like a big girl can't see him turning up at Anfield.
The Italians will do the old accidently standing on the foot of bale to stop any free kicks:) finding the net.
Hope they get battered, there far too smug for a team that's never won anything.

Lets not be jealous now.

Are you serious

demebele is having a great game tonight.

tom1975

man for man we are very close to spurs

Or you are far too envious they they are doing much better than us currently

spurs are a good side and we ll do well to beat them at the weekend

We are going to have to be at the spuds right from the 1st whistle, both teams playin well at moment, hopefully this extra game for them will benefit us, a nice rake of the studs down monkey heads Achilles will sort him out, inter have been pants. JaySpearingsghost

07 Mar 2013 22:59:28
This is why people hate Liverpool the arrogance of some of their fans, check your facts spurs have won plenty of trophies, sure not as many you guys that's obvious but don't be desrepectful to our achievements over the years only 3 clubs have won more trophies than us.

We're one of them

Yes respect to spurs this is your best team for years and sadly our worst times but unlike spurs we nearly went out of business and thankfully the dust is starting to settle and may be fsg are learning no one can have a go at them for not being financially committed 100mil to kk tells us that. good luck spurs in the europa but the reds are on the up and will rise again. ynwa red mick tag

07 Mar 2013 19:38:23
Sturridge has scored more goals this year than Ba and Torres combined : ).

And Torres has been awful against Steaua.

07 Mar 2013 19:12:33
eds how highly rated is suso by rodgers and lfc. I have supported Liverpool for over 40 years and I think he is the most gifted 19 year old player I have seen. His vision and general passing is incredible for such a young player. eds do you rate him. {Ed001's Note - I love him and I know the staff rate him, I really don't understand why he is not getting more first team football. I can only assume Rodgers is trying to be careful with him, as Sterling has shown signs of struggle, he probably wants to hold back Suso to avoid him ending up the same. Though that won't stop me hoping to see him play some part in every match.}

Susos best performance for us was when he came offthe bench against anzhi I think

when he starts he plays well in 20-30 min bursts but fades too easily. understandable for a younglad

should come off the bench for us more I think

All this media hype about Bale, I can't stand it. Don't get me wrong, he's a good talent but the guy plays really well in the last six games or so and he's all of a sudden the new Ronaldo/Messi.

Suarez has been playing great stuff ALL season and for me (not being biased, honest) he's definitely been the Player of the Season so far. Top scorer now and everything.

First half of the campaign it was a toss up between Suarez and Van Persie, but the latter hasn't contributed too much for United since the new year.

Anyway, can't wait for the game on Sunday, let's wait and see who makes more of an impact on the match, Suarez or Bale,,, don't worry Red fans, Luis is going to come out on top

Suarez has got his team to 7th. Bale has got his team to 3rd. Van Persie has got his team to 1st. Yeah honestly you aren't being biased at all. Load of tosh that is. Get a grip man, you're not a top 4 team and Suarez is not the best player in the league.

Whenever there is hype about 2 players in a match, there is usually an outsider who scores. I think Sturridge will be the difference.

Lets face it bale is british and the darling of the media

suarez is forrign and the media s pantomime villain

suarez is the player of the year by a mile

tom1975

Siggurdson has 2 in 3 games also. he looks good for spurs tonight

dembele long range efforts need to be closed down

do this and we can have them

To the guy who posted directly below me, Why are you even on this site? Why don't YOU get a grip, or even better a life, and log onto to the website of whichever team you support.

Anyway, your ridiculous statement just goes to prove my point.

Liverpool are only 7th, and the fact that Suarez is playing in a weaker side than Van Persie with a lot less service and quality players around him, Yet can still come up with MORE goals, just goes to show he's havin a better season and is arguably a better player

I think the OP needs a swig of his bitter to make him feel better.

I'd rather Liverpool win and Suarez to score no goals than Liverpool lose and Suarez to score a hat trick. I hope Liverpool come out on top.

07 Mar 2013 17:17:51
would there be a possible bid of 35m for alexis sanches

I bleeding hope not
redgrant

So his value has gone up while his form has dropped.

For 16million he d be worth it

sanchez suarez coutinho
---------sturridge

happy days

18-20m maybe. £35? Are you insane?!

Is that you Kenny? if it is the answer is no as we still have your £35million donkey on our books because of you.

And Carroll is going for 50 mil to citeh

Is that you damien?

07 Mar 2013 16:58:30
Ed, is skrtel injured or unavailable for the spurs game?
The pace at which spurs play maybe him would be a better choice than carra at the centre?
Having said that if we don't make the same mistake like arsenal of playing a very high line of defense against them we could well win the game because going forward with SS, coutinho, gerrard and downing that's a quality and a very dangerous looking attack. {Ed001's Note - I believe Skrtel is fit.}

07 Mar 2013 16:03:06
Okay, another one for banter. What would a CDM like Yaya Toure will add to our current team and playing style? Nothing to suggest anything about Y. Toure but a player with his type of runs, stamina, strength and goal scoring threat in a central mid defensive position. Awesome! Nothing negative about Lucas, I think he has been terrific not only as a player on the pitch but as an example how to grind and make your way up when tide is against you. He has made majority of fans eat their words so KUDOS to him. But!

He has certain physical limitations like stamina, pace, strength etc. He works his socks off to make these up with his intelligence and reading of game but then it limits his other aspects.

I think a player closely resembled to Y. Toure is Diame. He will be a wonderful addition to our current line-up. Think about goal scoring threats in form of Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho, Gerrard, Downing, Jhonson and every now and then pops up Diame. that's quite a lot to deal with.

Just a subject to seek opinions about!

Indian with Red Heart

If we didn't bid for him at 3.5 mill it would be a bit silly. good player gr8 engine
5gold stars

I posted yesterday that I thought Diame would be a good shout as he has skills, pace, strength and can tackle. However, he is not at the level Yaya Toure is. IMO he is an exceptional player, he literally can do the job of 2 men, which is why City's midfield is so good - he is a CDM as well as being an attacking CM. If he plays well, City play well. As I say, Diame isn't Toure, but he isn't too shabby either.

We would be mad not to try and use Carroll as part of a deal. Diame could be our missing link

Apparently here in london were hearing song has not settled in barcelona and would possibly be open to a return to england?

I think we should have bought sissoko who is now at Newcastle, better than diame and will be an absolute gem for them. Can't remember if was an ed that first brought up his name when we supposedly had interest but we definitely should have bid for him. I can see him going to either city or Chelsea in a couple of seasons for big money.
Huddz red

And even if he had a poor season I still think his value would increase

Do barcelona play with a powerful dm, jesus they got rid of yaya

not tika taka footballers

Got news for you Tom We're not Barcelona and never will be sadly with players like Allen and Downing

Let us put to bed the myth that Diame is available for 3.5 million. He has a release clause in his West Ham contract though the required fee to trigger it is in excess of double that - just wanted to clarify this as a number of people over the last few months have mistakenly floated the idea that he could be available for 3.5 million.

just been thinkin about our future. united have a really good young squad and can attract top names still e. g. van persie, kagawa and I think fergie will be there another season then mourinho will take over plus they will soon be debt free so I can't see them going anywhere for the foreseeable future, city and chelseas money will not be going anywhere anytime soon and they will both always be looking to strenghthen in every window so they will be hard to surpass, now everton and tottenham are looking good but if tottenham lose bale there good run may be up and I feel confident that we can become better than everton given time, arseanal will be hard to replace in top 4 as they have a better squad than us and after a bad season will be looking to get stronger but I think rodgers needs to try to match their level and stay with them, as for the foreseeable future I think they are the only team we can replace in top 4. we also have to worry about teams such as newcastle and swansea. what we really need is a sugar daddy, with stadium re developments coming into play aswel I fear money will become an issue and any money we have previously spent has been squandered, I think it will be a long time before we can get out of this transitional rut.

Just my thoughts

You lost me at United will be debt-free soon.

cuckoo land that.

Yeah and you lost me at United have a really good young squad, they're best players are Van Persie (30) and Giggs (78)

07 Mar 2013 18:52:40
erm rafael (best right back in league)
fabio to return
smalling
evans
jones
kagawa
nani
young
valencia
welbeck
hernandez
de gea
buttner
powell

to name a few {Ed001's Note - Zabaleta is twice the right back Rafael is! At least he can defend unlike Rafael, who seems to forget he is meant to be a defender and Fergie has to put Jones in as an auxiliary right back every time there is an attacking threat from the opposing left side.}

Valid point with the youngsters, but the to the poster above, you have just really ticked me off by saying rafael is the best right back in the league. Zabaleta all the way you smug united kn*bhead.

If your not going to offer a genuine sensibly balanced opinion rather than united indorsed crap, please get off our page no-namer.

Anonymous woolback

Yeah ok, to name a few what exactly? Is this list supposed to be impressive or something?

Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck? Oh dear god, other teams are trembling. And don't get me started on De Gea, that keeper is always just a cross away from a game losing error, he's a calamity.
Kagawa scored a hatrick against bottom of the table QPR, that will be his only contribution this entire season.

Nani was expected to be and labelled the new Ronaldo but has turned out a failure. Buttner is shocking, just awful, everytime he's stepped in he's performed poorly. Fabio is nothing, just an average player, Smalling was hyped up but there's absolutely nothing special about him, just like the majority of this list to be honest.

Are you actually having a laugh? Oh wait, I see that you are because you've just claimed Rafael is the best right back in the League,, ha good one

To the united lad above

rafael good player but best right back in the league? not yet

plus your kids aren't any better than our kids

Rafael - the best right back in the league? My friend that is a classic, by far the most ludicrous suggestion on this site in 2013. Congratulations and thanks for making me smile :-) {Ed007's Note - You should hear Ed004 going on about him, man-crush doesn't even come close to describing it, creepy is probably better.}

Twice the player ed? c'mon bit much. {Ed001's Note - why? Zabaleta can attack and defend, Rafael can only attack, that makes him half as good.}

Welbeck is an amazing player, he's matured a lot this season. 1 of Uniteds best players against RM. De Gea was Shakey but is full of coinfedence now and looking like a top player. Kagawa is no doubt going to be a vital player for them in years to come. let's be realistic every team has good young players let's not be naive.
No I'm not a united fan

Rafael best right back in the league?
Is this the same Rafael that got ripped to shreds in a game recently in December against Bayern I think. He got a yellow card and was taken off by Fergie after 25 or so minutes and he went and sulked and nearly cried on the bench. Yeah great right back that is.

07 Mar 2013 14:22:33
I've seen lots of talk of playing more defensive vs spurs to counter Bale.

Look at the spurs team and then look at the Zenit team we took apart.

Tottenham have a good keeper, an good defence, a midfield that does the job, and then Bale.

Zenit have a good keeper, a good defence, a midfield that does the job, and then Hulk.

Hulk is arguably a bigger task than Bale. He's certainly on the same level.

Against Zenit at home, bar Carraghers slip up, we won by simply stopping Hulk. How did we do that? We put Enrique on him. Somebody whos got pace, with the power to match it. Hulk and Bale are so similar, its scary. A fast, Powerful left footer who likes a long range crack. We should play the same team that destroyed Zenit for the first 65 minutes that night, with Coutinho in for Downing, Suarez dropping deeper (to do the closing down Joe Allen did) and Sturridge in for Allen up front.

Enrique and Johnson are both good enough to mark Bale in my opinion, but whoever is tasked with marking him (dependant on Bales choice of wing that day) must surrender all attacking duties, an just sit back to nulify the welshman; because Johnson only ever gets caught out when he is attacking.

I honestly think we will do Spurs though, and not a scrappy 1-0 either. We can smash them! We have to turn up though.

YNWA! (Adam)

Laughable, we haven't been 'Smashed' all season and all of a sudden you lot have a couple of decent games and your going to smash us. Delusional

More triumphilist BS

We are not that good if we were would we be 7th?

07 Mar 2013 15:23:17
In this form. we will smash anyone. whom comes up. simple as that.
I don't care what bale does. or not.
lets attack from the word goes. and scores a few in the first half.
we need to win this game.
what will they do to stop suarez?
he is firing it in all cylinders.
i am sure he is going to score 2 more goals this sunday.

lets welcome bale. with open arms. and teach him. this isn't white hart lane. its anfield. and you don't come anywhere near to suarez.

harry scousser
ynwa

Says haven't be 'smashed' all season. Was beaten by Arsenal 5-2. I have a lot of respect for Tottenham and totally disagree with the op cause Bale is much better then Hulk. Hulk has been poor for Zenit this whole season he arguably performed the best for them against us. Bale is consistent not to mention they have a strong midfield and pacey attack, if they have Defoe playing. We just need to not underestimate them like the OP is clearly doing they can and will hurt us if they are given the chance. Also got to watch out for the runs they make they split open the Arsenal defence with them last week.

AndyKopLiverpool

07 Mar 2013 15:30:52
Spurs will play 4-2-3-1 formation with lenon and bale on wings.
if we need to beat spurs. we need to win midfield. simple.
parker and dembele. will be their midfield pairs.

OMG. how important lucas have to be on sunday. he is always our pivotal, point.
if Lucas can keep demebel in his pocket. that will relsease gerrrd. countinho up furrther to make room for suarez and sturridge.

we will have to break up. thier open play. and only lucas can do that. he must win tackles atleast 10.

if they don't get the ball in midfield. bale will ahve to drop deep.

we need to hit them hard. from the moment.

i would also recomend. if we win the toss. we need to kick the ball first.
a chance in the opening min. will put them deep pressure.

common suarez. another hatrick and you will enter the record books.

harry scousser
ynwa

Why do you put a full stop after every 3 words? Honest question

07 Mar 2013 15:47:06
the problem with us is we don't know which Liverpool will turn up the 1 that will get beat 2-0 to west brom r the 1 that will stuff some team above before the seasons over.

HS

"In this form. we will smash anyone. whom comes up. simple as that"

When will you learn your lesson LOL! Build yourselves up just to be knocked back down.

Better to be realistic for once?

HB

We won't smash Spurs like one of their fans already mentioned above but we are 25/30% stronger than the side that went to WHL and totally dominated the game for 70 minutes and ending up losing.
if the players don't switch off for a ten minute spell like last time I truly believe this will be as tough a game as Spurs have had for quite a while.
i think if the anfield faithful get behinf the lads with coutinho, sturridge and suarez playing it'll be a cracking encounter that is there for the taking.

s. p

07 Mar 2013 20:02:14
to the fellow guys who have commented.
wait till sunday. and I will post my review.
we will smash them into pieces.
4-0. suarez double with sturridge and countinho getting one piece.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves we've been in good forms against poor teams Tottenham have a great team and it will be a tough close match I think the result will depend on how well we close down bale ill say 1-1

Lucas to sit deep on bale for the whole game

We not smashed anyone decant all season so what makes people think we'll smash a good spurs team? To many people getting carried away on here on the back of big wins against poor opposition.

OP have you not noticed Bale hasn't been playing on the wing for a while now he's had a free role off the striker. Are you as confident carra has the pace. Above poster has it right with Lucas on Bale but he will need help.
This is going to be a true test for both teams to show how far each team has come. I honestly think things are looking up for Liverpool and have always had respect for them. Good luck for the future hope BR does for you what I believe he's capable off (just have an off day on Sunday)

07 Mar 2013 14:20:12
I don't see what the fuss is about Aly Cissohko, watched him last night and he was very average!

07 Mar 2013 13:57:57
Any chance of converting Big Andy to a centre half and saving money that way, if he is forced to return?

But on a serious note, please can we recreate the Zenit atmosphere this weekend against Spurs. We cannot underestimate the lift we as supporters can give our team and they'll need that extra man behind them.

excellent idea. andy caroll can partner agger in the defence.
he will win all the headers.

As long as that extra man isn't Carroll :)

Not a rumour. more a perception. Rodgers gave an indepth interview in January answering numerous questions from Liverpool Fan press. He was asked one question to which he replied that the summer would be the time the club look to "enrich" the club by signing a true No. 10.

Now fast forward a couple of months and Rodgers is still saying that players will come in to "enrich" the squad.

Noting the above and the fact that it is said that LFC have been heavily scouting Eriksen, I would suggest that Eriksen given his ideal No. 10 tag would be a prime target for Rodgers, especially given not only his attributes but that the system the lad is used to playing in and performing at his best is very similar to the current Liverpool way.

Eriksen whilst young at 21 yrs of age, has years of experience of playing consistently at a high level and so in my eyes further strengthens my reasoning for him being a prime target for Rodgers.

Yes there is Suso and Texeira but they have a lot less experience even though they are only a year younger.

Ans there is also Honda of course but given his versatility and price, he would perhaps be an additional target.

If you can name any other natural No. 10 that would be available and would make more sense than Eriksen please let me know.

Cheers
JK

07 Mar 2013 14:26:53
I agree. Coutinho is rubbish. I mean, 1 goal and 2 assists in 2 games? What is he playing at.

We need to sign Eriksen. He looks about as fragile as Joe Cole, and our squad is missing that injury prone wuss its had since the Kewll era. We should never have sold Aurelio in my opinion.

YNWA! (Adam)

Coutinho

07 Mar 2013 14:29:53
erikson won't come to us. no chance.
honda is a possiblity. but we might have to sell a midfielder. probably shelvey or allen or henderson.

Coutinho= No10

Coutinho?

Plymouth Red.

I don't think we'll even bid for Eriksen. I think AVB wants him, Moutinho as well as a striker and if they get Champions League, I think he'll go their and be waiting for the Spanish boys to come knocking, he's made little effort to hide his desires to play in Spain, so I think he's looking for a stepping stone personally.

07 Mar 2013 15:25:31
If spurs get all three of them.
then we will not replace them next seaosn. for sure.
mountinho, errikson. and a striker. combined with bale. dembele, lenon.
thats a formidble line up to ensure top 4.

so what are we going to do mate?

I think you guys are deluded about Spurs. Good team yes, but they don't have the ability to sign Mountinho, Erikson and a top striker without selling major players - Modric might have gone for big money but lots of it has been spent, especially on wages. Plus why would they buy two more players for the center and CAM positions when they have Parker (poss), Sandro, Dembele, Siggurdson, Holtby and Dempsey all vying for those places already?

Spurs have also lost many players from their wage bill e. g. Pavluychenko (spelling), Corluka, Ledley King, Modric, Krankjaer, Jenas etc. etc. Levy is right on top of the finances as per usual!

Texiera will become our number 10 of the future, believe me. Now that his back problem as been dealt with when he gets his chance he will become a super player.

Coutinho is the ideal # 10. He's young with lots to prove after his stalemate at Inter. And he's going to get better. And if he's injured or can't play then Suso is in the pipeline. Eriksen's talent is undoubted, but I'd rather spend the money on shoring up defensive capability in the back four and midfield.

In summer

2 cbs, 1 in his prime, 1 topnotch younglad
left back cover. rose or taylor
1 goalscoring wide forward sanchez

lovren, ogbonna rose and sanchez would be a great summer for me

07 Mar 2013 13:31:18
Carlos zambrano, stefan vrij, aly cissokho are all being lined up for summer transfers to Anfield. with skrtel, coates and carra all in there last season, defensive reinforcements are the number one priority.

07 Mar 2013 12:54:41
Koptalk claimed Aly Cissokho is interested in a move from Valencia CF?

Him, de Vrij and Kelly for
Carra, Skrtel and Coates? {Ed002's Note - Aly Cissokho is a left back.}

I think it would be a good move for him but I don't see him dislodging Enrique and I don't think he would like to be sitting on the bench.

Ed002, Valencia CF is the club's name, like Liverpool FC, he's not saying Cissokho is a centre forward.
But as Cissokho is a LB, we'd then be replacing 3 CBs with a CB, a LB and Kelly, seems unlikely. {Ed002's Note - You missed the point - he has him replacing a centre back.}

Kopyalk gets almost all of their (i should say 'his' meaning duncan oldham) from the newspapers

He also claimed in jan that we was going to buy/loan milner how fid that turn out?

Youd do urself a favour by not staying away from that poor excuse for a website

So old Whiskey Nose was too "distraught" to come out and talk to the press on Wednesday night. I can't think why people still consider him a great because I can think of a few other greats that would have been able to deal with the situation better. When will he learn to stop spitting out his dummy when things do not go for him.

All the furore over the ref is just masking poor tactics and team selection? Seriously whisky nose is losing the plot? Who in their right mind would select nani ahead of rooney in the first place, any other manager would be crucified for such poor team selection.

Seriously r******* kid, the team selection was spot on 1-0 up united had real scared and then dodgy decision turned it around, nothing wrong with the team selection

07 Mar 2013 12:37:12
Kidmillions mate its hard to say he got tactics wrong, united were top of madrid till the red card.

Rooney`s time at united is over he has some issues with fergie and that was the same reason why persie was bought, if you look at history fegie has never spared any player who has question him or united`s ambition, the list is very long from veron to tevez to heinz to Beckham etc, Fergie before retiring will makesure Rooney is sold or should I say that united are already asking some of teams who are interested in buying him!

Think he's losing confidence in Rooney!

As to the OP, think he knew he would lose it in front of the cameras, especially knowing our lot (press) to push for a 'reaction' even with him these days, it sells papers!

Disagree, RM had a perfectly good goal disallowed before MU scored.

It does not matter whether he felt he may lose it if provoked by the press- he has a history of boycotting the press when he wants to- this extremely disrespectful and I dunno why the media still suck up to him

Real had a goal disallowed and rafael hand balled it on line to stop higuain scoring so that's an automatic red card. It's all ifs and buts! Who cares anyway? We can all sit back relax and watch the rest of the champions league and yes that includes all the Manchester United squad lol

I think you will find Madrid were the better team and deserved to go through.

12 players on the pitch wouldn't of prevented Modric's goal

United lost because no-one closed down Modric despite him having 3 players in a position to do so, and Rafael didn't pay attention to Ronaldo running behind him. Neither goal were the result of sustained pressure, an inability to keep the ball or anything associated with losing a man

Ed1 mate do you think rooney is for sale or is just trash, can't believe Fergie`s favourite son is being shown manchester door, oh poor rooney {Ed001's Note - I am sure United would be happy to get rid of him to be honest, his fitness has been terrible.}

Question for you eds and reds. What player has played for Liverpool Everton man city and man utd? {Ed001's Note - good question, I can't think of any off the top of my head, unless Beardsley managed that feat? He defo did 3 of the 4, not sure if he was ever at City though.}

Yes you are right ed played for city on loan {Ed001's Note - I never knew that, it was a lucky guess that one.}

Did Beardo actually play at Manchester United or did he just fail a trail there?

Anyway can think of some who did 3, but not 4. McMahon, Hughes. {Ed001's Note - Peebo was at United for a while mate.}

Good call Ed001, it was Peter Beardsley

Well, Beardsley was on Manchester United books '82-'83 apparently but he never actually played a first team game.

We all know when pepe makes a mistake he makes a few in a row, that doesn't make him a bad goal keeper it means he has fragile confidence, some people always need somebody to moan at

It means he's consistently inconsistent which isn't usually a quality of a great keeper.

He hasn't been good for the past 2 years, now all of a sudden one good game and he's back on form? no.

Good thing about playing Spurs they will come to Anfield to try and win.
Fight Fire with Fire I say and we'll come out on top.
Non stop attack as in the Zenit game.

My Dad always used to say fight fire with fire. That's what got him thrown out of the fire brigade and in court

Fighting fire with fire is a technique used when dealing with large forest fires in places like Australia.
Fire has 3 basic requirements: Oxygen, a spark and fuel. When fighting fire with fire, you have a controlled burn of surrounding forest burning up all the fuel (wood). Then the fire can't spread as it runs out of fuel.

The Search Engine.

I got expelled from school for arson,
arson-around.

In Ireland we fight forest fires with rain.

Wait. are we talking about sacrificing Bale by burning him here?

Would make one hell of an opening ceremony!

I think in the summer we should look at a defender who has a bit experience than just try to sign a fresh one.

de vrij or mateo mussachio would be ideal for me specially musacchio will be a bit realistic and cheaper. he is a ball playing center back what rodgers is looking imo.

we should also look to bring a player who can play in that center mid field role or deep lying playmaker. as we already have got coutinho we don't need eriksen or etc. some one like benat will be perfect to play in that gerrad/xabi role in future.

if pepe doesn't leave we don't need any keeper imo but we can look at quality young keeper. we shoudn't waste our money on habsi or valdes. who are over 30 already.

and finally we need a wing player with goal scoring ability. that's the main point goal scoring ability. we just can't bring fast players without any end product. because we already have those in downing or sterling.

thats why I think julian draxler or andre schurrle would be better than tom ince or alexis sanchez.

We had a very good deep lying playmaker earlier in the season named Nur Sahin. Un fortunately he wasnt played there, BR insisted in playing him out of his best position.

He was never going to make it in the pl, better to have seen that sooner than later and move him on

The problem with Sahin was that he was afraid to go in for 50:50's and meaty challenges because of his injures. We couldn't just keep playing him there when he wasnt going in for balls, so we tried to move him to get some more confidence on the field back and the silly boy moaned about it

Wow didn't know Allen grew up a United supporter

Have we ever had a united supporting player before? I know utd have had a few Liverpool supporting players and still do

Charlie Adam was, as was Sterling. No doubt we have had a fair few

Well if he scores an own goal against Manchester United then we know why now lol

I've heard it said that Mark Lawrenson was / is a Utd fan.
It would explain a lot if true.

07 Mar 2013 09:12:24
Lawrenson? He's a united fan today, I think.

I think Ronnie whelan grew up supporting utd

Lawro & Whelan are definites

Man u have Liverpool fans among their ex and current players, rio, o'shea etc

RVP is a Liverpool fan
dr

Rio was never a Liverpool fan in million years more like a hammer through and through! {Ed001's Note - Rio WAS a Liverpool fan, he told me so himself, while he was a Leeds player.}

Ed is it true barcelona will bid for agger in the summer and how many senior international players will the owners sell to buy young unproven players this time round?

A dig at the owners, how original

1. Barca may well bid for Dagger but he is not for sale and doesn't want to leave.
2. The owners will sell any senior player that Brendan does not want and will sell for the maximum possible price.
3. They will sign any young unproven player that Brendan wants if the financial package is acceptable.

Another sly dig at the owners. OK, tell us oh wise one which player have we bought recently that hasn't represented their country at international level?

I don't think Agger would leave for any old club, however when Barca come calling players listen!

Surely we are not going to have another 5 months of agger going rumours, why don't you try some original rumours instead of regurgitating old and tired rubbish

Well it looks like UEFA have more balls than the PL in dealing with Man United and fergie's ****.

The Liver Bird

Do you think they'll will actually charge them or better still ban them?
Leaving 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th to get CL places.
Then they would have balls. {Ed002's Note - They are not going to get banned, but they will be fined. I would suspect that Ferdinand will also be sanctioned - with a fine and possible ban.}

Sorry Ed002 I can tell your fearful of the let's get 5th posters;-)
As some don't understand tongue in cheek humour.

I was amazed the referee did'nt show a card against ferdinand at the end for his blatant act of dissent by sarcarstically clapping in his face

I believe they are been charged with the actual red card incident and the failure to meet the press commitments only.
There is no action been taken against them for any of the players reactions towards the ref.
It is on the tv website.

Hi Ed, Carra has obviously been brought back because of his leadership ( shouts ) and organisational skills at the back despite his clear lack of any pace these days. Ashley Williams is now linked with us because of these attributes and the fact he is a good footballer, Given this I find it difficult to understand people linking us with foreign GK's and Deffenders at the momment, with BR himself mentioning the lack of vocal leadership I would imagine a strong english speaking signing/signings more realistic.
I have also read Reinas comments about keeping the majority of the side together and just adding quality players this season to improve the team without affacting the continuity and mommentum made this year.
I'd be interested in your thoughts Ed, and if you think a british CD most likeley?
RNred {Ed001's Note - I don't see how you figure out they have to be British to speak English or to shout a lot? Many people around the world speak English! I very much doubt any notice will be taken of nationality when signing a defender.}

07 Mar 2013 04:42:44
I think howedes will be great buy. he has pace strength good in air and moreover is good leader for schalke and he may prove same for Liverpool. is also good organiser of backline.
red singh

Ashley Williams apparently is very quiet on the field and not as vocal as some like to think.

RNred, The only reason Ashley Williams is linked with us is because of BR's Swansea links. i'm sure I have seen the ed's say on numerous occaisions that LFC have shown no interest in him, and have made no approach to swansea in regards to him, yet people such as yourself continue to talk about him and add him to your wish lists. Its annoying really!

As a not-english person, I assure you I can speak english and shout very loudly at the same time quite comfortably.

not a rumour just an opinion, if Reina was to leave in the summer and we replaced him with for example Leno, he seems a cracking keeper but do you think we would look to bring in a second as an insurance someone of experience, possibly already in the league? Friedel, foster etc?

06 Mar 2013 23:32:43
Hi Eds, what's your opinion of Lee Wallace from Rangers? Could be a decent back up for Enrique. Would be great if Alexis Sanchez don the LFC jersey though. And getting a midfield enforcer like Yann M Villa or Lars Bender. Thx for a great site and take care!

YNWA - Geist {Ed001's Note - Lee Wallace? He is not good enough, in my opinion.}
