My strike force for next season - Fernando Torres and Suarez. Before all the angry posts come in I mean Fernando LLORENTE Torres and Matias Suarez.
Dutchmal

What's wrong wirh Luis Suarez?

Red Ollie

There is nothing at all wrong with Luis Suarez. Unfortunately there is a chance that he may not be at Anfield next season. It was a bit of banter. Read the definition posted yesterday. At the moment the stand is 10 agree and 10 disagree. Can those who disagree come up with any suggestions please?

Wow.... people around here get depressed fast, from league cup to sell the entire team in a few weeks. It reminds me of Andre-Villas-Boas, the whole point was he was a good young manager with potential who was one for the future, one for the future and given 9 months.

I don't understand the anger, we played brilliant vs Arsenal and it was our old friend post and good keeper who kept us at bay Kuyt seemed to be more alert than in along time. Henderson had a good game which shows good character after having a shocker in the biggest game of his career and Carroll didn't start.

We outplayed Arsenal and quite frankly didn't deserve to lose but thats football but if we play like we did then we should win alot more often -McMenemy

But we've got find our scoring boot's Mc mate!

Lack of goals, winter weather, would make any fan grumpy!

Probably time we ended our long-running friendship with post.

Messi has scored more goals in 90 minutes then Torres has in 18 months

And as many as Andy Carroll has in the league for us!

Ash

I knew Ash wouldnt resist an opportunity to have a swipe at Andy zzzzzzz

cozinoz

I might of known you'd pop up with a comment like that Ash.
AC will never be a Messi but he will score goals given the right service. Don't forget he hasn't had much playing time and has still scored more than YNWA
TIZER RED

I just don't think we're in any position to gloat about a striker not scoring! Glass houses, stones and all that?

Ash

Games played, goals scored, etc - Andy comes out way on top

Carrol is crap cozinoz. U can say all u want, but he is not gonna get better, atleast at liverpool. let him go to a club which suits his boring style of play. Seems woy's type of player.

Does liverpool have a high enough wage structure to get top level players? What level of player can we expect to turn up next season? will high earners like glen johnson, gerrard, carrol be leaving soon? In other words, are we a newcastle.

Nice one mate i needed a good laugh, been a bad day

Have liverpool been successful this season? We have a cup (a cheap one) and europa football. What do you guys think. What is success in the eyes of a liverpool fan?

Between the expectation and the reality, lays the truth. So what did you expect from liverpool at the start of the season? Are you happy with the success achieved? How do you think the season will end?

My personal goal for the Red's was CL football! Wether 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th! the league cup is a bonus the FA cup a bigger bonus! but what i deem success is winning the league or the European cup and to an extent the UEFA cup known as the Europa league!

Success in the eyes of a Liverpool fan is winning the next game.

I'd be happy with the CC and the FAC this season now 4th spots out of our hands.. If that's archived this season every LFC fan should be happy. Next season top3 with the UC would be good.

Lionel Messi has just scored a fantastic individual hattrick for Barcelona.
I hope that one day soon, we can uncover such a player from the recruits at Melwood.
..... He just got a fourth.
Unbelievable skill, please let the next Messi be at melwood, waiting to be discovered.

Reina, Enrique, Agger, Skrtel, Suarez, Kuyt, Maxi, Coates, Doni, Aurelio, Lucas,

Can someone please explain how any of the above are classed as English? Quite a few posts on here constantly state Kenny's buying English policy hasn't worked. Yet as I see it the first team is made up mainly from foreign players. If we are going on about English players then strictly speaking Adam and Bellamy should be added to the list.

Granted, Coates and Aurelio have not figured much this season but to say Kennys policy ain't working because of the English players when he consistantly selects the above players is a little far fetched in my opinion..........-TMac

Kenny didn't buy Reina, agger, skrtel, Kuyt, Maxi, Doni, aurelio or lucas so i'm not sure what you point is

Wouldn't beat yourself up about it mate, I think Ed002 has explained the 'fickleness' of many 'supporters' of our club. Just keep the faith, Kenny is instilling that pride of our great club once again after the debacle of the last 20 years.

Jatt YNWA

I know it is a repeated record but I think we have missed Lucas too much Mac. Gerrard has been playing too deep which Lucas would usually do so Gerrard can venture forward and help get goals. I think Lucas-Gerrard combo next season will be great.

BthekingB

I know B, mate, it's true we have missed lucas massively this season (strange really that the same fans most likely would have slated him before his last 18 months - 2 years performances) but time and a managers confidence in him proved to be successful.

I also agree about the Lucas - Gerrard partnership, along with downing and possibly a new right winger/midfield I think it would be a positive move for us...TMac

I know he didn't (he did buy Doni though) but my point is people are blaming the purchase of carroll, dowing and henderson for were we are now. Yet the side is predominately foreign so why all the clamour for us to ditch english players and replace them with foreign ones?

What makes people think the players they are screaming for will be better. On what are they basing their evidence?

For example Man City have at least 6 english players who play on a regular basis and are top of the league. However they have had a 3 year head start on us in terms of building a squad (plus lots more cash) and it shows in the league position. Spurs are the same and again they have a head start on us.

I have said before on here that I can see an improvement in the style of play, the shape of the team and the committment from the players.

Unfortunately building a winning and successful team will take a little time, it won't happen overnight. There is no magic spell to fix the previous regime(s) other than time and belief in the manager and in what he is doing......TMac

Ive got the answer to all the 'neg heads':
1. Get H&G back to wow us with their fantasy plans whilst they pillage the club
2. Get Roy back to buy sub-standard players
3. Lets play 10 men in defence at home
4. Dont win any silverware
5. Stop pass and move attractive football
6. Stop developing young players

Or
7. Let KK et al to continue with rebuilding our club over many years until we have the infrastructure both from a playing and commercial perspective to enable us to regain our glories consistently

I know which one I am happy with, but I am a loyal, patient and trusting fan (of many years) and remember what made us what we are and I have faith in KK, as I bet he is putting the traditons and foundations required back in place and will continue to do so.

Hi eds and reds i was really impressed with our reserves performance the other day against the bitters. I mean to old them on there own patch and they had a few first teamers in there side, jagielka, osman, anichebe, mcfadden and coleman.

I thought suso had a really good game and looks impressive. He also seems to create a few chances. So eds is he likely to be in the first team squad next season? He could also be a link up player. Anyway after watching that performance i think the future looks bright.

Cheers

Marco De Marchi (agent of Dutch striker Luuk de Jong):

"I confirm that Liverpool like De Jong, and not only them. There are several English and German clubs who follow him, but no-one has made real steps with Twente,"
Luuk has a huge market in Italy, several clubs have called me. I think something could happen in the summer, after the European Championship."

First of all to the Liverpool fansť who are saying we should sell Suarez for £30 million, okay and buy who? Who for £30 million can we buy who is of the same caliber of Suarez and would realistically join us if we don't make champions league? I would really like to hear your suggestions. I love my club to death just like most of you but last time I checked we weren't Manchester City, in terms of being able to bench, freeze out or sell one of our star players and still mount a credible challenge for the title.

I apologies but I am really struggling to see the logic in these statements.
Shouldn't we be adding to our squad not weakening or dismantling it. I feel we should be looking to buy an out and out quality striker to play up top with Suarez or in a 3 man attack with Suarez and Andy Carroll. Also I feel Suarez would probably score more goals, find more space and create more chance for himself and the team in a front 3 playing with him playing on the left, in a similar role to Messi.

I know I don't set the transfer fee and Suarez hasn't scored the number of goals he was when playing for Ajax and yes I know his reputation is in tatters at the moment but surely we shouldn't be allow to be robbed for his true value. He is technically only behind Messi & Ronaldo and for me would walk into most if not all teams within Europe. To add to my argument the likes of PSG and Palermo who are interested as far as I'm aware are not put off by the reputation issues so if we do sell (which I am strongly against) I would set the fee at £50 million yes £50 million minimum and not a penny less. They have money and in abundance and we should set the fee and if they want him they got to pay the price or look elsewhere. Simple!LFC4LIFE

Couldn't agree more mate

Mickleburg

If any one wants Suarez the deal should only go ahead if they take Carroll as well combined fee of £90 million. ERR no! WHY DON'T WE JUST SELL CARROLL..
kidmillions

Only way I'd let Suarez go is if we got a decent replacement in a swap deal. Obviously there is no-one from palermo or from PSG who even matches Suarez so I'd accept Ozil and Alonso for Suarez + 10-15mil.

Great to see how many of us are taking the long view and thinking strategically about the team and not overreacting nor question what were probably well researched, considered and feasible decisions.

So on that note I am going to facetiously ask "hi eds, do you think its likely we will sell Sterling in the summer as he's obviously not good enough to play in the first team so clearly he should be sold. No point in investing in the future, nor giving players time to settle or bond. Or learn each others playing style, or the new tactics of the team. And seeing as every other team in the premiership is rubbish and scoring goals for fun but also brilliant in defense but also rubbish but also better etc then surely we should have won every single game ever".

Some of these (or similar) comments smacks of the 'now-generation'; which has pretty much caused as many social and economic problems as you would care to mention.

We may have a similar amount of points as we did last year but i would love to see the rest of our stats in comparison - aside from a few games here and there we have been outplaying loads of teams. Frustrating thing is we aren't scoring but that will come. Have faith.

Or perhaps the word is 'support'.

(open doors for a torrent of abuse based on the idea of being critical is the same as having an opinion)

Good luck on the weekend Kenny and boys - I have faith.

just a question. Why is ed002 so hell bent on saying that suarez will be leaving? {Ed002's Note - I was aked my opinion. Try not to read anything sinister in to it - or just skip past anything I write if you find it upsetting.}

Not so much hell bent, but why is Ed002 the only one who ever answers a question about Suarez leaving? no problem with your opinion
NextGenRed {Ed002's Note - There are answers from Ed001 as well.}

At the end of the day if suarez goes or not its not exactly ed002's fault is it?

Well take no notice mate your doing a great job. As much as I love suarez as a player if he does leave he himself has to take some blame. he may not have mean't it in a racist way but the best thing would have been to keep his mouth shut. and secondly the media for jumping all over what suarez does and blowing it out of proportion.

ED or EDs?

Please tell me how FSG plan to make LFC successfull again and how they can make their profit from us long term. With QIA,ABU DHABI,ROMAN etc I just cant see us having the clout to become a force in Europe again.

Surely buying a club like us with so many problems could only ever be solved by those with very deep pockets.

It seems a huge gamble for FSG and a really risky investment.

I just dont understand their strategy or trust their motives {Ed002's Note - There is neither the time nor space to deal with your question here. But a club can be successful without vast spending and the examples you give are those with deep pockets and a willingness to spend whether they are true football fans (as is the case of Abramovich) or fulfilling a desire to be involved with sport (as is the case with many of the owners from the middle east). The owners are willing to support the club financially as they have demonstrated and are looking to build a sustainable business; but if you want vast spending and immediate success they cannot do that.}

After all the money spend,all the blind faith we are just 1 point better off then last season.
And last season we had very good second part of season.we have scored 30 goals in league won 4 matches at home and this is progress?
We bought english league based players because we wanted them to give us edge in race for CL but they have taken our quality away.
But every thing is ok we have won the cup and that makes everything rosy eh..
Just see the gap between us and top and then ask is this good enough?
And the buys let's just not discuss them its hopeless.its so frustrating watching us.
I like millions of reds want what is best for my club I am just not sure its kenny as manager that we need.
Yes I love rafa but I think we need a new way.manager at dourtmond have been spoken about.who knows?
Time will tell..

Red indian

Only 1 point better off? did we win the league cup last year? i thought Birmingham won it, ah well live and learn hey.

If you want to draw a comparison thats worth something wait until the end of the season and see where we finish, but also take into consideration the point tally compared to the teams around us, it is not as simple as looking at league position and points tally, a season is won and lost on very fine margins, the width of a post if you like, which on a few occasions has been the difference between a win or a draw for us, stop moaning like a little bitch, yes its frustrating when we dont take our chances in front of goal, but i havent seen us play football like this since roy evans was in charge, we are great to watch, we are creating a lot of chances and the defence is generally pretty reliable, so its tweaking and little luck, and not bitching and moaning every time something doesnt go our way, and talk of replacing kenny is disrespectful, naive and frankly stupid.

Andy C

@ ANdy C
"stop moaning and bicthing every time something doesn't go our way"

LOl, how many times things don't go our way, its countless.. there is reason to moan but moaning and bitching won't solve the problem.. support the club

The poor form in front of goal is more than "bad luck" as KK puts it. Missing 8 penalties (inc 2 Carling Cup misses) and hitting the frame of the goal 21 times to me is bad finishing, not bad luck. We may be playing much better football but we had more goals at this point last season 34 compared to 30.

KK isn't to blame for our poor finishing, the players are!

People are putting too much emphasis on the Carling Cup win, yes it was nice to win, but it doesn't excuse our poor league form (1 win in 6). Plus it doesn't even put us in Europa League proper, we enter at the 2nd qualifying stage, slap bang in the middle of the Olympics, and a few weeks after Euros finished, not exactly ideal.

The players need to turn the tide, KK has given them unequivocal support even when they're playing s**te, they need to repay the faith.

Hello Edds.

Do you believe Downing, Adam, Henderson and Carroll are good enough players for LFC? And do you see any of these going on loan or being sold this summer?

Kind regards {Ed002's Note - I don't see any leaving this summer.}

07 Mar 2012 15:39:25
I think the whole fight with H&G (threat of liquidation, new owners etc) and having gold old Woy as manager and the poor quality of squad and 1st team we were left has taken it's toll on every LFC supporter.
The damage is going to take a long time to heal.
As such the current players, manager & set-up is taking stick they probably wouldn't have received if all of this hadn't happened.
People have nowhere to vent and it will take a few seasons of improvement (year-on-year) to forget that sorry part of our past and get back to supporting the whole club and giving everyone the necessary time.
We have new owners and are now stable - no threat of liquidation.
The squad is improving (but it will need to keep evolving and improving over the next 3-4 transfer windows).
We have one cup in the bag.
If we don't finish 4th this year, we need to finish at least 5th.
Winning the FA cup would be a nice bonus.
Next year top 3 should be the MINIMUM target!!

And who were the instigator's of the toll on every LFC supporter? Moore's and Parry

07 Mar 2012 15:11:05
Do you think LFC will sell any of Carroll, Henderson or Downing if an offer comes in during the summer? Personally I would sell all of them, get as much as we can for them and put the whole episode of buying them behind us. I say this because I can't see them getting any better (especially Carroll) and we could use the money to buy better players - I hope.

So who would you replace them with??

I would prefer to keep them all, unless we get a very good offer and we could buy better! Downing just needs time, as I believe he has just been unlucky. If (at the beginning) some of those shots on the bar had gone in, we would be seeing a different player right now. As for Andy, strikers reach their peak at about 26-28 and how old is he? Henderson is also young and has bags of potential. I wish we would support our players some time!

Keith

The only one out of those stated that i'd sell is Carroll! he's not a striker! he's got a good left foot but so has Agger and Skrtel is just 1 or 2 goal's behind him! his best piece of play he had in the cup final was throwing himself in front of Kenny Miller to put him off a certain goal!

Ed 01 does it not concern you that last year we were....
PLD 26 38PTS

And this year....
PLD 26 39PTS.

We have 1 more point, we have won a trophy, we are still in the running for another trophy, we have qualified for the europa league and we have been nowhere near the relegation zone this season.

Therefore I think we are in a far better position this season than last.
We are playing a far better standard of football and can at least string a few passes together, something that Hodgson's team seemed incapable of.

Billfaethetoun

Brum won the Carling cup last year! So yes nice to win lovely day out good experience but hardly sign of massive progress. We have won one EPL game in 2012 and this season we have not managed more than 2 successive league wins. The return on huge player investment has been shocking. I am massively concerned as to the state and ambition of the club.

It's a springboard/stepping stone for god sake. i believe tottenham's only trophy in 19 years is the carling cup in 2008 but look where they went from there?! closing in on there 2nd attempt at the champions league as we speak.
food for thought....

Well in fairness we are about 4years behind Spurs! Problem is the competition dont stand still and wait for us to catch up!

Spot on, Billfaethetoun.
The other point a lot of people who are making comparisons between this season and last season (in terms of finishing position) seem to miss, is that when KD took over we were in 12th position. The improvement from 12th to 6th last season was down to KD.
The progress has been significant, and I wish all the KD knockers would "go away" and support somebody else, because there is far too much knocking of the current manager, players and owners.
DJP

So DJP you dont like knockers do you? Well im a knocker. And I fear with our current squad we will finish lower than 7th and if that happens action must be taken. I cant see us beating Sunderland at the weekend so wait till then and this page will be full of knockers!

Mark my words we wont even finish as high as 7th is that acceptable to you?

Big Knocker

Last season the Red player's did to Hodgson what the Chelsea player's did to Scolari and more recently AVB! Hodgson knew before he signed his contract that he would'nt be here long!

Eds do you think we will ever see a European Super League of about 20 of the best teams?
KernowRed {Ed002's Note - Yes. This has been dealt with before to a certain extent, but: (1) A number of clubs take the opportunity a couple of times a year to discuss various issues including changes in rules, television rights, the power of UEFA, exploitation issues for new technology streams, etc. These discussions, the last of which were on August 25, also always turn to the possibility of a breakaway pan European league. Several are G14 clubs, several are not, and some clubs decline involvement in such discussions. (2) They would break away from their national leagues and UEFA. They accept that players would initially be banned from FIFA competitions as well, but know that FIFA would be looking to negotiate in any case. It would be the end of UEFA in all probability and UEFA are aware of this. It would also result in a restructuring of many of the national leagues. (3) They would renegotiate their television rights, rights of distribution via other streams etc.. (4) It is the greatest fear of UEFA – and all major national authorities are aware that one day it could happen.}

Thanks for that.

07 Mar 2012 13:26:32
I really believe that the English Premier League and the other top leagues in Europe should allow the top six clubs to enter the Champions League. Third, fourth, Fifth and Sixth should go into various stages of Champions League preliminary rounds dropping into the Europa League if they lose, mainly because of the sheer competitiveness of our Premier League now after investment coming into it. This would help clubs like us, Everton etc. and also help the Europa League. The winner of the Europa league should also get a place in the follwing years preliminary stages of the champions League.

Pathetic post. By that reckoning why not have a competition between the top countries leagues. In my opinion England lucky to have 4 teams in there, top 2 only from each country. And why should a great club like ours want any help. I want to be there on merit, not finishing 6th, 7th and stopping a team who has won the league in a so called poorer country. If we don't deserve it we should n't be in there. You have pis$ed me right off. What a knob

Taffytel

The only teams that should go into the champions league should be the champions, the FA cup winners, the league cup winners and the UEFA cup winners. Every country should do the same then you only get champions in the champions league. Obvious isn't it?

Chris in Tamworth

I think it should go back to just the winners of the league going into it, there aren't many sports where finishing 4th is considered a success.

always a red

Totally agree with Chris from Tamworth except for the league cup. Having all the winners from these cups and leagues going straight in is a great shout for European football. Be great for the FA cup aswell. All the teams would actually be trying to win it rather than just vying for 4th. I hate this idea that getting into the top 4 is a successful season. I would rather win a cup and under Chris's idea that would get you into the Champions League.

Gazza

Thanks Gazza it seems the only way to me to make it a real "champions" league. Not sure why you wouldn't want to include the league cup think of the cudos it would bring to that competition and also you'd need the league cup winners from all countries to give enough numbers to make up the league format. Nothing for second place for me

After been sat watching goals, goals, goals on liverpoolfc tv, i have to say that the best person who picks up the scraps in the box is Kuyt. The amount of rebounds that lad gets is amazing!
All these people saying sell him, he's had his day etc...you only have to look at the cardiff game and how he links up with the likes of suarez and bellamy.
For me, he's been one of our best players since he came. He might not be the fastest or the most skillful but he loves this club and puts more effort in than Torres ever did!

i know with him been 36 and not havin much in his legs,but if he learned anything of rush then he wouldnt need to be quick just in the right position. with 30mins left in games surely he would be albe to come on even if he only got 3 or 4 goals till end of season.
lets face it with our strikeforce nt been able to hit a barndoor at mo we have nothing to lose

£30m for Suarez! We are all aware of the issues surrounding Suarez. He is a great footballer but if he decides to go or the club agree to sell him we should stand firm at £50m like we did with Torres and Chelsea. Afterall he is bound to attract interest from Qatari backed PSG who will just about pay anything to attract other great players.

Torres had no issues with sponsors of clubs shying away from him due to him being labelled a racist. Standard Chartered are already believed to have mentioned their negative stance towards Suarez as they believe him being labelled a recist and then being linked with their organisation through our club is undermining their image and so on.
Fair enough big teams will want him, but the sponsors behind these big teams may not agree, as it is basically them saying hes a racist but we accept that, his price will therefore be cheaper to counteract the risk he poses on the image of any club or sponsor.

What would make a team party fifty mill? His professionalism? His goal record? No! The thirty mill would be the absolute max we would get!

Just a quick note on Aquaman from last night. Did anyone catch the Arsenal game and notice Alberto seems to have been eating very well indeed whilst out in Milan! Quite the belly on him...dear oh dear. Looks terribly out of shape indeed "/

An old school friend of mine plays for the under 18's (Jamie Stephens), and i occasionally speak to him when he's back in my area about Kenny's involvement with the academy. He says that Kenny knows the players very well, and has high hopes for many of them. The Eds are right, the likes of Sterling and Suso will be used when they are stronger and Kenny deems them to be ready, and he has a much more informed opinion than any of us. The worst thing of all would be to rush these players into the first team when they're not ready, damaging their confidence in the process. Kenny is not overlooking the young lads, he's just waiting to ensure their progression into the first team is beneficial for everyone. Be patient.

Just a question ed, what is Suarez's transfer value at the moment? 35million? {Ed001's Note - impossible to say until he makes a transfer, he is worth what someone will pay for him. But you are probably very close there to what he would be worth, his value is slipping though, long suspension with few goals doesn't make for increased value!}

He's practically fit mate the injury is no big deal

Those writing his obituary better hold off for at least 5 more years

I know people say sterling still has a lot of growing physically to do , which I can see there point.

But I also remember a certain Mr Owen breaking onto the scene...... fast like sterling and also a small lad.

Speed is the key with sterling , as it was with Owen.

LAVERS {Ed001's Note - and Owen suffered numerous injuries which destroyed his pace because of being given his chance too early in his physical development.}

Rubbish, owen probably played less football after his breakthrough.

"The Irritation of King Kenny"

The papers have to move on: Luis Suarez will move to PSG for €375,000,000,000 in the next transfer window and Frank Lampard will take over as England's player-manager in 2019. All as likely as Arsene Wenger shaking off his perennial cold and Robin van Persie agreeing that Walcott is class and extending his Arsenal stay. It's all unlikely, it's paper-talk and part of the sort of posturing that talkS**TE engages in every afternoon.

What is not in doubt is that we have stalled in our race to get back into the top four and qualify for the CL. There have been doubts expressed about the progress under Kenny Dalglish and they are to be respected. I have been saying for many years to anyone who listens that history is never a good measure for progression. There is no doubt in my mind that KK is the man to take us forward, but blind faith has to be put aside as we ask some searching questions before the end of the season.

Roman Abramovich asked AVB to come in and remove the older squad players - the divas and the ones who will demand more than they eventually give. He accepted the task and then found himself cut down by a weak owner who believes money will ease any pain. We have strong owners with a sense of style at LFC, but it would be a mistake to think they would not be as ruthless. And it should be so!

There are big squads and then there are clubs like LFC and MUFC, MCFC and Arsenal who seem to collect players and allow them to fester and smoulder on the bench or in the reserves. We have seen precious little of Shelvey or Coates this season and I wonder why we bought them. I also wonder if they feel the same? After all, Coates is an international but seems unable to even squeeze into a second half in a league game so far. Patience is a virtue, but the player must be asking what next .... and as a good friend of Suarez it would pay not to upset him and maybe unsettle Luis. Then again, they are picking up a fortune in wages.

The next batch is awaiting playing time - Suso and Sterling. We bought Adams, Dowing and Henderson among others, so where do these new guys fit in in 2012/13? It would seem odd to strip out the new players to make way for the 'newer' young players, even if it is for the bench. It's the usual footballing conundrum that requires a deft touch. I think KK still has that.

For next season it looks increasingly likely that Carragher will be less of a fixture than Stan Collymore's rants on the radio. Gerrard is slowing down (hisses from the rabid fans) and his role may be deeper and likely to feature the odd spell on the sidelines. Carroll is looking more vulnerable than ever and in my mind is kept only in the firing line by KK's wish to see his 'project' spark into life. Henderson has failed to show any spark and must be regarded as a dismal flop at this stage. Adam is like Downing - worth the patience. So it may be a little clearer who we need to offload at the end of the season.

Off the field it has been a PR disaster. The manager was slapped down by the hierarchy and embrassingly shorn of friends in the media following the Evra affair. Being of that profession, it surprised me that the club couldn't have controlled the media relations and PR issues more closely. This needs attending to and the Fenway Group will not allow that to happen again. But KK is still the man to lead us forward.

The club is at the stage of change that Chelsea has found is hard to manage (in more ways than one) and a time when we need a strong man at the helm. We have KK and he is the man to lead us through this. The real issue is the way we react in the next few months. Chelsea fans seem to swarm over their manager and complain about they way he was treating their heroes - we should refrain from that at Anfield. We have to continue our movement to a new era. I believe in our fans and the way we support LFC and that gives me hope we may make the transition from 'old' to 'new' smoother than the Roman Empire has!

Returning to the fold has reminded me of the pleas from some posters a year ago to swoop for Owen Coyle and AVB. It seemed madness at that stage and even more ludicrous now. It is happening once again with players who have scored one 'wonder goal' on YouFace or TubeBook and then hailed as 'sensational.' Now at this stage I would say as after other paragraphs - "KK is the man to guide us." Yet I have a few doubts in terms of recruitment. It is my view that Comoli has taken a sidestep on recruitment and I would be interested to hear from other posters on this issue.

This season will end up as a disappointment if we fail to hit fourth spot and yet there have been successes. The stabilisation of the club after the departure of Roy Hodgson is much down to KK and the stewardship of John Henry and Tom Werner, plus the strange Ian Ayre. Yet the lack of European football next season in the CL will bring its own issues. We may lose Suarez and not be the bright force to attract replacements. My concerns are more homegrown in terms of buying British talent. Too many players like Ince and Wilson drifted/drifted away from us. Yet I still believe in KK.

Roman Abramovich has shamed Chelsea in the way he has handled his hirings and firings. LFC has made similar PR gaffes in the past few months. Player power is a bane of the game and one of the reasons I openly deride players on Twitter by announcing "Another mind-blowing insight into the mind of a professional player!" It puts football into perspective for me.

We are evolving but at a slower pace than I thought iwewould. We need a few less British turkeys in our oven, a few more wise words and thoughts before actions and a continuance of the belief that LFC is a real club with tradition and style.

SP

Wasted effort writing rubbish.

Hi Ed. Big fan.
Can you tell me when exactly flanagan, robinson, suso, sterling, morgan, Coady will get a chance. {Ed001's Note - well no, of course I can't, no one can. A lot depends on how they grow and develop physically, which no one can predict, and things such as injuries and suspensions. Personally I wouldn't expect much from them this season, though any kind of injury crisis would change that.}

DORSET RED

Hey Dorset,

Not sure I wholly agree with you on a couple of things...

I think that with PSG declaring so early that they are in the market and the interest from other Euro protagonists + Anzhi that we could realise more (i'd said about 33-35) but it may be a little greater given the statement from PSG...

I don't want to see him leave though!

Coates (I don't know from any sources) but have not heard he is having trouble settling so would hope to keep him and save the £5m on Vertonghen...

Def go with Isla in for Johnson

De Jong I would hope we can make a tempting offer for, OR Soldado if we can realise something back for Carroll...

Don't think we'll see too many other changes other that the fringes of first team - Kuyt plays his nuts off for us and I'd like to see him stay for the last year before making a money move back to Holland or elsewhere, great utility player...

Suffolk'n Red {Ed002's Note - The PSG interest is not new, it is some weeks old. The other interested club is Palermo which might be a very attractive option to the player.}

Enjoy your time on football manager. Coates is a kid and will be fine in time. Vertonghen is going for champions league. We would get more than £5m for Kuyt. Adam is one of the most consistent passers of the ball (left-footed) that our club has seen in many an era. Think about it, Kenny is obviously looking at having Lucas (right foot) and Adam (left foot) sit in a quater back sort of role, and with each using the opposite foot it gives us a wide range of passing dynamics. Then you can let the other players run riot. Essentially it would be a 4-2-3-1.

I'm not sure if some of the fans notice that Adam Is Doing better than he was doing at blackpool, look at the stats, and also he is our leader in assist, 3rd in the league and only 2 places behind David sliva, and one behind adebayor.

4-2-3-1 is'nt that the formation Rafa mainly used? and got slated for!

Ed or anyone, is Gerrard fit for the match at the weekend? Been told by someone, he's trained all week, is this true?

Keith {Ed001's Note - he is in training, but I doubt he will start, there is a feeling his injury was down to exhaustion.}

It was probably all those steps at Wembley ed !
How many are there ?
It used to be 39 (true, not a pun), now there's about 239.
The Real KB {Ed001's Note - I remember reading about it when they settled on the design, I seem to remember it being a number in the 80s now.}

Thanks Ed, so not the hamstring we were told at first, although 'tight hamstring' can be caused by exhaustion, I suppose! For what it's worth, there are 107 steps.

right here goes if we were offered 30m for suarez would you sell him agree yes disagree no.DORSET RED

I would take it but only if Luis want's to leave and on the condition that we have a replacement lined up who is as good as or is better than Luis.

In all honesty, the only player who I can think of, better on his day at doing what Suarez is known for doing, is Messi. Suarez could get into the Barca team weekly, that's how good his technical ability is. Unfortunately the market is not there for players of that caliber so I would hang on to Luis as much as possible

Suarez to PSG?...Suarez to Barca?...to Madrid?
Where do these stories spring from?....
Personally, I wouldn't mind if we sold Luis for £35-40m, if only to rid the Club of the controversy surrounding him.
These types of player will come and go and their cigar-sucking agents will always exploit the chance to milk the cash-cow.
Mascherano,Torres,Owen, Meireles etc......
I don't care what the xbox kids on this site think, I agree with Kenny and his "philosophy".
I said it 12 months ago and I've been saying it ever since.........Liverpool Football Club NEEDS to build a squad of footballers who WANT to play for the Club !
I'm not suggesting Luis Suarez has any desire to leave but, to be honest, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if he did.....he could cite any number of excuses from fan-victimisation to not being in the Champions League as justification for his big-money departure.
Anyway, back to Kenny's "philosophy"..............
Kenny is building a squad of players who play exciting pass-and-move football and who WANT to play for Liverpool Football Club.
Jordan Henderson will be massive to the Club over the next few years.....once he's given the central-mid role permanently the U-21 captain will thrive !
Charlie Adam's stats justify his purchase regardless of what some of the posters on here think (although, TBH, I'd use him more sparingly.)
Stuart Downing is starting to prove his doubters wrong and Enrique will be our LB for years to come.
Andy Carroll isn't really the "right-fit" for Liverpool but I can guarantee he'll be a monster the moment he goes somewhere else! Either we mould his obvious talents to suit us or we sell him. Whatever happens, next season we will not hear the names Carroll and Suarez mentioned together (if i'm wrong I'll march into a Liverpool city-centre tatooists, naked, and demand to be covered in......oh God, it turns my stomach just to.....here goes.....Ferguson on the front, the Nevilles on the back, the MUFC crest on my thigh and a "W" on each buttock. I've already got the name of that famous Welsh train station tatooed on my willy.....Rhyll !)
...At least when I bend over it'll spell "WOW"!
Anyway, I like what we're doing. Get the forwards right and get the League ....the rest needs little work. Spearing and Gerrard should only be squad-players next season but Lucas will be back. Personally I'd go for Sissokho, Dempsey, Luuk De Jong and Honda to replace Kuuyt, Maxi, Carroll and whoever else leaves.
Watching the reserves yesterday restored my faith in the Club's future.......Raheem Sterling is friggin' immense ! There is a lot of talent coming through the ranks and anyone on here who doubts the current set-up should take the time to watch our reserves/academy actually play. I'm not going to make the same mistake I did last year by "predicting" the team but I reserve the right fantasize over what might be next season for the first game in the League Cup;
-----------------------REINA----------------------------
FLANNAGAN....KELLY.....COATES..........ENRIQUE
---------------------SISSOKHO-------------------------
G.JOHNSON----HONDA----DEMPSEY----STERLING
----------------------DE JONG--------------------------
SUBS; Jones, Robinson, Carra, Lucas, Downing,
Suso, Carroll
ANFIELDPETE

Also, I'm not an owner...just a season-ticket holder, so 4th place isn't as important to me at the moment as being the best in England.
OK.. ECL = £££'s but building a squad is imperative.
Henderson, Skirtel, Sterling, Coady, Downing, Suso and Shelvey are the future backbone of our squad.
ANFIELDPETE

You really couldnt dare to fantasize about a better back four? Even with Skrtel dominating at the back, poking a few away and Agger returning to form as a marauding cb?
I believe there is more of a posibility than you think about you getting you tattoos next year. Carroll will be given another season, if only because of his price, he has openly admitted hes only recently settling. Any other striker who sinks the winner in his merseyside derby debut would be chershed any other season, but then because hes struggled to adjust as quickly as we would like theres one step short of a witch hunt. You would expect Suarez to move, not for 35-40 like you quoted, hes a risk, that even sponsors arent sure of, more like 25-30 would buy him.
People arent slating Dalglish personally, but just because hes a Liverpool legend it should not exempt him rrom criticism, with a bad home record would be the end of most managers infront of the kop. Kenny has brought silverware, which will give him more time, but his tactics are dated, his styke of play is immense but his substitutions and team selections can be baffling at best. I believe hed be the perfect Assistant Manager to a Tactical Genius, not saying we could get these managers but someone in the mould of Hiddink Benitez Mourinho Ancelotti or even maybe Trappatoni.

AnfieldAndy {Ed001's Note - none of those are tactical geniuses!}

So which do you want then? To play exciting pass and move football or do you want us to mould the team around the one player that doesnt suit pass and move football?

Steve

I didnt say mould our team, i said he would adjust. Tottenham play some of the best pass and move stuff at the minute and have Adebayor as a central anchor upfront. Norwich have Grant Holt. Newcastle who have played well have Ba, Ameobi or Cisse. AC Milan destroyed Arsenal using a big man in Zlatan Ibrahimovic to orchestrate from the front. All these teams have played good passing football this season.
Not tactical geniuses?
Trappatoni has helped Ireland go unbeaten for what 12 games, despite having a mediocre squad.
Mourinho constantly takes the pressure off any of his teams, even when they are playing badly by drawing it onto himself and his persona.
Benitez has always been noted for his astute tactical abilities.
Hiddink turend Russia and now is turning Turley into good teams, despite their lack of truly qualityu players.
Fair enought he others were simply punts, but you can see what i mean.

Anfield Andy

But Carroll is not mobile enough! far to slow!

07 Mar 2012 11:19:07
in my opinion we should sell suarez if we could get a decent offer of around £30m.
he's an excellent player, but has brought more trouble to the club than any other player since iv supported them, and hes only been here 12 months.

LFC-IRE

Personally I would want to get double that figure, with PSG interested. We paid £23m, we should at a minimum expect to double that figure.

Further still £30m is not enough money to rebuild our attack.

RedSG

If anyone thinks we're getting £55/£60M for Suarez, they are, unfortunately, delusional. At the absolute top of the scale, we possibly might get £35M if PSG and Palermo bid against each other. We have to look at things rationally. 1) The whole Evra thing damaged his reputation, like it or not. 2) We paid £23M for a goal scoring machine from Holland, and he's scored single figures in about 2/3 of a season in England. 3) If we're selling him after 18 months at the club, it's because we want to sell him. Clubs will know this, and therefore will not come in bidding £50M+. £35M is enough to buy a pair of top players, like Soldado + De Jong, or De Jong and Ramirez, or at a push, Soldado and Kagawa. As much as I love watching Suarez play, and as exciting as he can be on his day, if we can make a £10M profit on him and bring in a couple of big contributors, it makes sense to do so.

after watching the mini derby i feel sterling and Suso need to start seeing some first team football, obviously on the bench for now, but sterling and his pace is exactly what we need out wide that is why Bellamy is such a success at the moment he is the only one with pace. as for Suso he looks like he can take the ball anywhere on the field and has an eye for a threw ball, anyone agree? {Ed001's Note - Sterling has the ability, but he still looked like a little boy with a lot of growing up to do, it risks his future to play him too much too young. Suso on the other hand has grown a lot recently, which probably explains his patchy form. He is certainly close to being ready at the very least.}

These 2 players are our future, but we need to be careful nurturing them. Sterling especially, he looks about 10 years old, but my God he is quick. Maybe this season is too early for him but I hope next season we'll see more of him. The comparison with Bellamy is interesting, they're every similar in style, maybe Bellers could teach Raheem a thing or 2.

Suso on the other hand I think is ready and could make a difference for us. A player with his sort of craft and guile on the bench could really help us for the rest of the season. Add to that he is quite a set piece taker, something we have struggled with this season. With Charlie Adam a favourite of KK, but even though he's improved his fitness he is still only a 60-70 min player before he fades. Bring Suso on for the final quarter and he could make a difference. I really do think he is that talented

RedSG

Can the lads learn more from being on the 1st team bench than playing 90 minutes in the reserves? I'm not so sure

I see Suarez going personally, its a good time to part company with a good 18 months at the club in terms of plqying and increasing his profile, with a few lows thrown in. We will still get a good price. If it is Palermo or PSG then we should get decent money. I know part exchanges dont really happen but id be happy for him to go if he could sign lavezzi or abel hernandez in a seperate deal and also either Luuk De Jong or maybe Daniel Sturridge. We could even go for Fernando Torres, ill make myself clear, Fernando Llorente Torres, but i think he would want champs league. I know about De Jong but have we shown any interest in the other strikere mentioned recently eds?

Having watched the mini-derby yesterday and, indeed, having watched our squad develop over the last couple of years thanks to LFCTV(and also live), I can honestly say that I've no worries about the quality we've got at the Club.
The stand-outs at the moment (in order) are:
1.RAHEEM STERLING
2.CHRISTIAN ADORJAN
3. CONOR COADY
4.FERNANDO SUSO
5.ANDRE WISDOM
6.ADAM MORGAN
7.EMMANUEL MENDY
8.NATHAN ECCLESTONE
Add to these those who've tasted 1st team action....Flannagan,Kelly,Robinson and Shelvey and you can conclude that the future's taking shape nicely!!
Next week we take on Ajax in the very exciting NextGen Cup (brilliant idea) and I urge everyone to get to St.Helens on Wednesday night (7pm k.o.) to get behind the lads. If you had a time-machine you'd watch the Beatles at the Cavern Club...same thing!
ANFIELDPETE

You forgot thomas ince- he has been banging them in for blackpool of late-another one last night {Ed001's Note - we sold him because he refused a contract, he wanted to be paid like a first teamer.}

Bit unfair on Ince to make it sound like it was all about money, I heard he wanted first-team guarantees that we couldn't give him and took a long-term pay cut by joining Blackpool

Red Ollie {Ed001's Note - he did not take a long term pay cut, he did want first team guarantees, but he was told to earn his place. He could barely get in the reserve team and he was demanding guarantees he would play for the first team! He also wanted to be paid like a first team footballer. He needs to earn both. He would never have made it with us anyway, he is not good enough, as a number of Blackpool fans have told me. Unlike Phillips.}

I am not sure about Mendy and Eccelstone. If they are ready they should be already in the team by now. But i think we can add Toni Silva to that list along with Stephen Sama. The interesting one is Kristian Adorjan. Could any of the eds say what they think about him. I did not pay much attention to him and who they think are capable of having long careers with us. Thanks in advance.

AJ

Yes, sorry......missed out Silva completely and Sama should probably be there aswell.

Ed you mentioned one KENNETH HAUNG. Would we have been in better shape under his ownership? You said he could get Cavani and he did say at the time he would give Rafa unlimited funds.

MISSED THE BOAT {Ed001's Note - nooooo! You missed the point, Ed002 was making, Huang was a fantasist.}

A year and a half in charge an no stadium annocement, No striker in jan who knows Kenny Huang might have been a better option

Huang was a financialist ED01! We would be in better shape owned by Kenny or even that Syrian mob they seemed to get the clubs ethos. Or what about that chap Whyte? I want someone in charge who makes big hollow promises!

Only jesting but ED01 I am concerned FSG cannot compete financialy at the top and sadly thats were football is please convince me im wrong!

If they cant afford the stadium etc why buy the club in the first place?

Ps only joking about Keegan yesterday I share your low opinion of him! {Ed001's Note - they can afford it, there are many obstacles in the way of the stadium or it would already be on its way.}

Was it not proved that he had links with the Hicks and Gillet and really didn't have the money in the first place?

Keith {Ed001's Note - yes to the lack of money.}

Get team first - then think about the stadium

There is no point building a castle if you dont have any furniture to put inside it

Are the obstacles in the way of a new stadium or a redeveloped Anfield?

RedSG {Ed001's Note - both, it is, or at least I am told it is, down to the infrastructure of the surrounding area. Health and safety makes it impossible to increase the ground to anything like the size they want without major changes to the surrounding area.}

If it is both options, doesn't Stanley Park have planning permission for 60000? Are they looking to build a significantly bigger stadium than that?

RedSG {Ed001's Note - it needs to be bigger if it is a new build, that is the plan anyway. They have done an assessment on those awaiting a season ticket and it is felt that a bigger stadium will be needed to match the need and bring a decent return.}

I guess building a bigger new stadium would be more cost effective. Thanks for the update

Did anyone see MOTD2's goalie montage? Of all the saves shown, 9 were saves from Liverpool players including two double saves and two penalties;
vs Arsenal, Stoke denied 1 point
vs Blackburn, Man City, Swansea, Norwich- all of which were late on, too- denied 3 points

Only irrelevant one was pen vs Everton.

So, easily an extra 14 points.

Ahh, what could've been!

Mrpjd

Mr pjd
This is exactly why I say things are not as bad as they seem.

The amount of chances were are creating is unreal , if we had converted them we would be top 4 easily.

Someone posted yesterday about us being on the same points as this time last year.
Yeah we were scrapping wins but playing s**te football.

Fans need to relax it is disapointing that were not going to be in the CL next season but that's life.

Seems to me that the eds are getting a bit lazy in answering some of the queries on here,by just saying "use the search function",come on guys,people take the time to ask a question,at least give them an answer,not some generic answer all the time !! {Ed002's Note - We don't have the time to answer the same questions over and over again. People need to take the time to read through other posts. If you would like to reply and sign your post we can then remove the Search function from the Liverpool page and everyone will know who to thank for that. We give our time for nothing and put a great deal of effort in to keep these pages running and I see little point in publishing every post that comes everyday begging to be told that Torres is returning and Cavani signing.}

Is it true about Cavani :)

cozinoz {Ed002's Note - He is the sort of player the club will be attractinf with Kenny Huang as owner.}

Awesome. A front three of Cavani, Hazard and Aguero is guaranteed then. I can't believe all the posters who have been doubting this over the past few years.

cozinoz

Not to mention gotze, and martinez in midfield:)

Suarez to PSG? Seriously, why would he want to play in the French league?

HK

For the money? For Champions League? To get away from the booing fans and witch-hunting English press?

He had CL with Ajax, booing fans wouldn't be enough reason, I think the French league would be a step backwards, even with all the money.

HK

Is evra not french

I think he'd score more goal's in the French league!

Now I'm sure this post will get alot of hate (Or won't get posted at all, Ed.)

{Ed002's Note - A great way to ensure that your post gets rejected is to start by saying "I bet this won't get posted".}

PLAYERS GOALS

Robin Van Persie 25
Wayne Rooney 18
Sergio Agüero 16
** Demba Ba 16
** Yakubu Aiyegbeni 13
Edin Dzeko 13
**Clint Dempsey 12
Emmanuel Adebayor 11
Mario Balotelli 11
Frank Lampard 10
**Grant Holt 10
**Steven Fletcher 10
Danny Graham 10

AS u see the list only lampard n balotelli are the players that didnt featured regularly for their team...other than them rvp,rooney,ba,dempsey,holt, etc are 1st team regulars

compare to them (barring SUAREZ coz of 8 match ban ), neither kyut,carroll, or bellamy has been given a consistent go by kenny.

NOW im not comparing carroll or bellamy to rvp or aguero what i want to show is ...the top goal scorers are mostly 1st team regular ...forwards must play regularly .BUT KK DOESNT THINKS LIKE THAT . now ul say that our forwards r poor n all BUT AT THIS MOMENT THAT IS WHAT WE HAVE GOT ...

THROUGH THE SEASON HE HAS REPEATEDLY CHANGED N CHOPPED THE forward line. which is certainly not good ..u can shift the midfield here n there but u have to have a regular striker partners .

he hasn't DONE THAT

OR maybe they are all getting a run in the first team because they are scoring regularly ??

You do have a point there, the rotation of the attack minded players hasn't helped them get into the groove. Carroll especially is the one who would benefit most from a consistent run in the team, whether he deserves that or not is up for debate.

RedSG

As u quote=
"OR maybe they are all getting a run in the first team because they are scoring regularly ?"

just to debate ur point is valid. but then who we have in replacement?
i think kyut n bellamy r playing good football, had they been given regular nod any one of them sure we have had few more goals .

n above all A STRIKER NEEDS A REGULAR 1ST TEAM ACTION + A REGULAR PARTNER . due to KK's continuous changing there hasn't been any partnership n understanding between our forwards which is also a reason lac of goals {Ed001's Note - Bellamy would have played every game if possible, but it simply isn't.}

Also did everyone noticed ? all of the kennys signings featured in cup final.?

the point is he is giving his signings more preference then others.

now there are two things wrong in it(at least i think so) .
1. where the F is maxi? now im not great fan of him but his last regular run of matches has been good n has scored few goals + maxi has good passing n movement to run in right space in right time.he can be handy
2. hendo over kyut?
now his last display against arsenal was good..n i do believe he has potential but if u through him in such crunch situation it wont help his game at all. n on any day kyut is one of our best performer within his limits till he has the ability to make something happen. {Ed001's Note - every time Maxi doesn't play we get whiners talking about how he should play. Every time he does play he is awful and people shut up whining for a while, until they forget just how bad he played and start whining about how he should be in the team again.}

I think Maxi is very similar to Meireles last season, he enjoyed a purple patch and people remember that more than the rest of the season where he was largely anonymous.

RedSG

I think Maxi is cheesed off scoring goal's then getting dropped! he is a very clever player and should get a run out!

Lets petition to John Henry to remove KK or give KK a Director's post and appoint Rafa to be our Manager next season.

KK if u are still the manager PLEASE DONT BUY ENGLISH PLAYERS. OR ELSE BUY QUALITY PLAYERS.

I WANT LFC TO WIN ALL HOME AND AWAY GAMES NEXT SEASON. IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE BUT POSSIBLE IF THE TEAM PLAYS TOGETHER.

THOUGH I HATE Man Utd BUT JUST LOOK AT THEIR " NEVER SAY DIE" ATTITUDE !!!!!!!!!

Why do we now want Rafa back remeber a lot of his buys were not that good,Support Kenny we will get there

Get rid of Kenny? Petition the owners? Appoint Rafa???
You, pal, are a clueless gilfnard

cozinoz

Rafa have more knowledge then before agree. but I think if we replace kenny then give the job to someone who is master of use young talent. Frank Reiijkard the master who creat today's Barca .

R-R

Yeah! Let's aspire to be just like the mancs! Get rid of Kenny! Let's "win all home and away games next season"!

Delirious.

Just the sort of thing we need to do after the H&G era. What a bunch of puddings we would look if we petition every time we are unhappy with some form of management. Personally I am not unhappy with KK as I believe he is doing a good long term job. The only problem for some people is we lost the last match so the knives come out!

Kev

Last time I checked, Coates, Suarez, Enrique and Doni are not English players, or am I wrong Ed?

Keith {Ed001's Note - apparently we must both be wrong mate, because I keep hear people talking about this English bias, I am pretty sure that Charlie Adam is Scottish too.}

Hi, just thought I'd drop a quick word on the Ed002 Appreciation Society. We now have 257 members, coming from all 4 corners of the Earth (ish). The layout has just been updated so it looks all new and shiny. It'd be great to see some new recruits and inject some fresh energy into the 002 love!

This petitioning culture has to stop. It was all well and good when it was something worth petitioning, like the lancing of those two boils H&G. But why oh why would you petition our responsible owners (who haven't dropped any Snoogy Doogy or spade in the ground clangers) to get rid of a legend who's shown signs of having us play some very attractive football (albeit with a lack of goals) and who's just won us a cup. It makes my noggin hurt.

Yours,

Professor Frank

First time poster here, you'll be pleased to know i'm not a "get Kenny out" knee-jerk poster even though I am a younger fan who grew up with Benitez and Houllier. I was just wondering why the Eds seem to think only one or two signings seem likely. If Kuyt and Maxi are moved on, aren't we going to need at least two wingers to cover the right? Also, aren't an attacking midfielder and a striker likely options given our lack of goal-scoring this season? Being in Europe next season I would have thought we'd want at least a squad size similar to this season if not bigger. Wouldn't this mean 4 or 5 singings are more than possible? {Ed002's Note - I have been repeatedly been saying teh summer was a long way off.}
