@ Blair you are a complete idiot! Rooney earns 140k a week not 250k which was just paper talk. I thought you were in the know Blair??? What happened to the Qatar take over??? You are pathetic! You claim to know everything but the truth is you know f@@k all!

As you know by my fantastic posts on the Man'ure site, that i do indeed know everything.

Like i said on your great site "My football knowledge knows no bounds. Untill i go on the LFC site, then i am indeed h*cked"

It's actualy quite likely that Rooney earns much more than that. Anyway, £140k+ a week for 11 goals and mass disruption throughout the club? That's some value, there.

The difference between Rooney and Gerrard is that Gerrard was never committed to leaving. He had major doubts and eventually signed a new contract of his own accord.
Rooney couldn't give a rats ass about Man U or it's supporters - he wanted to leave and he couldn't give a toss what would've happened in the ensuing chaos. Only when his life was threatened by hooded thugs and the prospect of earning a million a month was dangled in front of his greedy nose did he re-sign.

Gerrard isn't the classiest of characters and you wouldn't want to run into him in a dark alley on a Friday night, but at least he has some degree of respect for those around him. Rooney doesn't and never will.

Rooney always wanted to stay, just wanted more money.

Was that after he got his 250k a week deal. Or just after hooded and scarved Man'ure fans surrounded his house, like a lynch mob?

Ps. Your posts always make me smile MPez, you really are and idiot. lol

Hi ed the pre season tour will be to china its seems after the post on the banter page about lebron james plus i had heard this already from one of the sports science guys who was giving a talk at a conference. Has it offically been anounced by the club? Do you think this will affect the signings we want to make?

{Ed002's Note - It should not have any impact.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This is a good move by Lebron and FSG. Lebron James is one of the biggest names in world sport. He's huge in America and parts of the world, we will be good for each other.

One of Lebron James's sponsers has came out and spoke about the deal already. That sponsor is Coca Cola. For me this is just the start, more deals like this will follow under FSG.

This deal with Lebron James has us and Lebron on most decent papers in America. If people in America didn't know LFC existed, they do now.

That's how big this guy James is in America. Ed002 surely you've heard of James?

Blair Mayne YNWA

Ps. It will not have any bearing on who we sign.

{Ed002's Note - Blair, I was born in the Pacific Northwest and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area - I have heard of LeBron James.}

Hi ed, what do you think of the prospect of signing perotti, marveaux and I personally hope we go in for piatti too. But do you think we have a chance of signing perotti as he would be a fantastic addition to the side.
Poki

P.S. Can people stop with the cavani rumours he has agreed a move to napoli {Ed002's Note - I expect Marveaux to make the move. Perotti is just another linked winger. There seems to be one a day.}

- - - - - - -

Yea Gerrard's personal reason was he LOVED this club and city so much that he couldnt leave. His head said to go but his mind said no.

And as for Rooney. .well you said it. He wanted. just wanted more MONEY. .couldnt help money.

I'm a United fan and the best thing Kenny did for L.F.C. was selling Torres. At the time all you lot were saying Torres loves LFC he will not leave. Torres showed his true colours with his big club comment. Now you lot are having the last laugh! Sometimes you have to have faith in the old Scots men.

Well said Jack but its King Kenny.

as blair has already stated, shrek brought your pathetic club to its knees. No one player can or will ever do that to lfc, because our club is bigger than any player. Just ask a certain blue she*p #9. Yes, you have champions league footy, but unlike the mighty lfc you have no CLASS. By the way, hope you make it to the final. Would be so much fun to see you manc faces when barca rip you a new one, AGAIN.

Hi ed, long time reader of this sight but first time commenting. I believe that players such as kuyt just are not good enough for this lvl, do you really think he would ever make it into a top four Premier league team? I think not, a very wise Liverpool supporter who is rarely is wrong said to me quote Liverpool will never win a major trophy with this waster on our team" and I know I'm having a go at one for our better performers as of late but I am baffled that people are loving him because he is the least exciting player in the premier league. And yes I hate kuyt with a passion no skill at all YNWA

Ed do you know if we have made any offer (pre contract) for Phillipe Mexes?

Isn't he on a free by then? I think with our lack of depth in that area we should be looking to bolster and for free it's a good deal.

Also with Clichy nearing his last 12 months I would test Arsenal's resolve for him.

I would also enquire about Yuri Zhirkov as he would hopefully sold for roughly 8-10 million.

Quality players and two with perm experience. {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in Mexes.}

Perm experience?
Are we looking at Souness and Mcdermott making a dramatical return?

ED. . . I got this off liverpools web site, to cut the long story short does this help liverpool in the long run, does it give us more capital etc etc, could you explain it in any easier way.

Fenway Sports Management (FSM) today announced it will enter into a business partnership with LRMR Marketing & Branding.

The agreement will align FSM's innovative sales and business development efforts, LRMR's marketing expertise and LeBron James and allow FSM in an exclusive partnership with LRMR to secure global marketing and sponsorship opportunities for Mr. James. FSM is part of the portfolio of companies of Fenway Sports Group (FSG), which share a commitment to excellence and winning, including the Boston Red Sox, Liverpool Football Club, New England Sports Network (NESN) and 50% of Roush Fenway Racing - all under the leadership of John Henry and Tom Werner.

{Ed002's Note - It may help with the marketing side of things, but in the big scheme of things I would not get too excited.}

I don't recall the exact date without looking it up in my diary - but sometime early summer last year.}

BASKETBALL MEGASTAR LeBron James has struck a deal with the owners of Liverpool FC to become a part owner of the club, it s been reported tonight.
The Wall Street Journal said James, currently with Miami Heat, had reached a deal with Liverpool s owner Fenway Sports Group which would see James take on a small stake in the club, in returning for giving an FSG subsidiary the right to become his exclusive worldwide agent.
The deal, the WSJ said, was the first time that a professional athlete had taken an ownership in a team of Liverpool s stature.
We re not interested in talent or athlete representation but we think he is one of the most remarkable athletes of his time, FSG co-owner Tom Werner said in an interview.
We believe we can open doors for LeBron, and LeBron can open doors for us.
James, who earns $15, 800,000 per season with the Heat, joined the side after a protracted, high-profile move from the Cleveland Cavaliers last summer. He also takes in an estimated $30m a year through sponsorship deals with the likes of Nike and Coca-Cola.
His basic sporting wage equating to around £185,000 a week is higher than that of Liverpool s own highest earner, club captain Steven Gerrard, who is thought to earn about £135,000 a week.
FSG previously known as New England Sports Ventures won control of the Anfield club following a protracted battle of their own against the club s former owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett during the summer.
That takeover saw legal action at courts on either side of the Atlantic, with courts in Dallas imposing injunctions on the sale of the club by chairman Martin Broughton only for Britain s High Court to then rule the earlier injunctions void.
Hicks and Gillett are still pursuing Broughton and the other former members of the Liverpool board for damages.

Squad rich with U21's who don't count towards the 25 man squad, will be able to do a job as squad players, substitutes or even starting XI! They will eventually replace the aging players in our squad.
Touch and go whether El Zhar and Insua will leave, but neither have been subject of any bids, and both look like returning.

There may be changes to the youth team, however who knows what they'll be!

"It is flattering to hear teams such as Chelsea and Liverpool could be watching me.

"Every time I get the chance I watch Liverpool. They are a very important club and a lot of players would jump at the chance to play for them.

"I have watched players such as Luis Suarez and I have a lot of respect for them.

"Despite all their problems they have a great chance to get back to the top of English football again. I remember watching their midfielder Lucas doing an interview for Sport TV in Brazil and he was showing a camera crew around.

"He spoke so highly about Anfield and we saw that the facilities behind the scenes are fantastic."

Basketball star LeBron James is joining forces with renowned hedge-fund manager John Henry and veteran Hollywood producer Tom Werner in a deal that brings together one of the biggest stars in sports and two of the world's most renowned teams.

Getty Images
LeBron James is averaging 26.6 points per game for the Miami Heat this season.

The deal between Mr. James and Fenway Sports Group will give Mr. James a minority stake in the soccer club Liverpool, which FSG owns. FSG, which also owns the Boston Red Sox, is partnering with Mr. James's sports-marketing firm, LRMR Branding & Marketing to become the exclusive world-wide representative for Mr. James.

The deal marks the first time that a professional athlete at the top of his game has taken an ownership interest in a team with the size and reach of Liverpool, which is one of the most popular and powerful sports franchises in the world.

It also adds yet another dimension for Boston-based FSG, which became a global operation last October when it bought Liverpool for $488 million. The company was founded as New England Sports Ventures nine years ago after Messrs. Henry and Werner bought the Red Sox and 80% of regional sports channel New England Sports Network. In 2007 Fenway became 50% owner of the Nascar auto-racing team Roush Fenway Racing.

Its subsidiary, Fenway Sports Management, has since become a leading sports-marketing firm, selling $60 million in sponsorships annually for properties FSG owns or represents. By teaming up with Mr. James, Fenway will be representing the commercial interests of an individual sports star for the first time.

"We're not interested in talent or athlete representation but we think he is one of the most remarkable athletes of his time, " Mr. Werner said in an interview Tuesday. "We believe we can open doors for LeBron and LeBron can open doors for us."

Executives involved with the deal declined to comment on the financial terms, but a person familiar with the details said FSG would receive a small commission on any deals it landed for Mr. James.

Mr. James said he was "humbled" by the deal and looked forward to donning a red Liverpool jersey and visiting Anfield, the team's legendary stadium.

"The first time I stepped on an NBA court I became a businessman, " said Mr. James, who is 26 years old. "This is a great opportunity for me."

Maverick Carter, chief executive of LRMR and a high-school teammate of Mr. James, said partnering with Fenway was essential for them to gain access to international business opportunities that go beyond the typical athlete endorsement deals.

"These guys have unmatched skills when it come to marketing and selling on a global basis, " Mr. Carter said of Fenway.

In addition to his $15.8 million salary from the Miami Heat, Mr. James earns an estimated $30 million annually from endorsements with such blue-chip companies as McDonald's, Nike, and Coca-Cola. His image took a major hit last summer when he was criticized by the media and NBA Commissioner David Stern for teaming up with ESPN to create "The Decision, " an hour-long special during which he announced his choice to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat.

His new team has stumbled at times this season, leaving many to wonder if Mr. James will ever fulfill his promise and begin winning championships in the style of global stars like Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.

According to executives involved with the transaction, the deal was conceived by Paul Wachter, a director of Time Warner who advised Messrs. Henry and Werner on their acquisition of the Red Sox before the 2002 season. Mr. Wachter has also grown close with Mr. Carter, who expressed his desire to build Mr. James' portfolio internationally and find opportunities for the Miami Heat star to gain equity in companies throughout the world. So far, Mr. James's commercial interests have largely been limited to his endorsement deals.

David Carter, who teaches about the sports business at the University of Southern California, said Mr. James was taking a risk by signing on with a company that had never represented an athlete before. He added that the opportunity to invest in Fenway properties like Liverpool was essential for Mr. James to mitigate that risk.

Mr. James didn't indicate what he wanted to do with his additional earnings, though he has never been shy about his desire to become as dominant in the business world as he is on the basketball court.

Mr. James wants to pursue partnerships similar to his deal with hip-hop impresario Dr. Dre. The pair last year launched a line of high-performance sports headphones known as PowerBeats. Coincidentally, Mr. James and Dr. Dre met Fenway Red Sox executives on Opening Day at Fenway Park in 2010 in a promotional event for the headphones.

In the fall, Mr. Wachter suggested LRMR begin discussions with Fenway Sports, which had just purchased Liverpool and were in the process of transforming themselves into an international company.

"One group was building a global powerhouse, and the other was looking to do things differently to really move the needle, " Mr. Wachter said.

The parties gathered in February in Omaha at the annual meeting of Berkshire Hathaway and realized their goals for global expansion were similar.

"Without purchasing Liverpool, we never would have been able to have this conversation, " Mr. Werner said.

According to Deloitte's 2010 Football Money League report, Liverpool is the world's eighth-biggest soccer team by revenue, with $320 million in revenue during the 2009-10 season. Liverpool and Manchester United have won 18 top division championships, the most among English teams, and both are wildly popular in Asia, where Liverpool will tour this summer.

"Eighteen championships, " Mr. James said. "I see myself trying to do the same things they have."

This morning I read the comments by John Henry of NESV.
He knows what he is about: Liverpool have a high wage bill and a squad with little depth.
Henry and NESV are professionals.
It will probably take a couple of years. Liverpool will win the league.
Henry and NESV are ruthless. That is why they are successful.

Small club! Our clubs reserves are bigger than spuds. You got to the champions league because Liverpool had very poor injured season.
Real Madrid humiliated the spuds lastnight.
Spuds arnt garunteed European football next season and still have to play us.
You won't be in the champions league next season and your still a club that's smaller than Fulham

It's not nice to see Torres struggling like this. If he had just held on for a few more days at the end of the January window he would have had his perfect partner in Suarez and he would be back to his old self at this stage.

It's a same we never saw Suarez & Torres in action.

Ha-ha-ha! ! Torres got grabbed and lifted off the ground by Ferdinand in a very humiliating way (after attempt to dive) and none of his teammates even stood up for him. Can't imagine Ferdinbub manhandling Suarez in the same way. We gor rid of a spanish sissy and got ourselves a warrior instead.

Hope Manure wins as it will be easier for Barca to beat them in the final than Chavski. Can't exlude the possibility of Torres bursting into tears next time he misses a clear cut chance.

I know there is something immoral about my rant but that's how I feel at the moment.

Ed, Comolli said in a very recent interview that we will sign some top players in the summer (due to january transfers and win over utd.) do you believe this? And do you think that there could be some deals already struck just being kept under wraps? Cheers pal {Ed001's Note - I do believe that players Comolli believes are top players will come in. Whether you will see them as top players is a different matter, after all that is just an opinion. But there have been moves ongoing since January.}

Why does everyone go on about how lucas is actually good now and how hes one of our best performers. Please if u think that open your eyes. I agree he has improved and could be a useful squad player but hes still very bellow par and wudnt get into most prem starting line ups. His defending is poor hes so slow to react. He is far too slow and has no strenght. Without gerard we have no midfield which leads to not retaining the ball and not creaating any chances for the forwards. Thats why we end up booming it up to carrol every five secs. We need some strength and grit in our midfield a real ball winning brusing defensive mid. Again to those who feel lucas is one of our better players are the ones allowing our team to slip further downn the standings. Liverpool are one of the top 4 teams in england and lucas doesn't fit the bill

Hi
i have been thinking about our team next season and although like most i would like marque players but i don't think that would be possible due to no CL football. here is my observation and views on transfers

for LB i would like baines but i guess aresnal, man u, spurs are better option for him given CL football so i would say Oscar Wendt is very likely with johnson and robinson others for LB.

RB is covered with kelly/ flanagon
CB is where i could see greek and even agger going and replaced by Musschio from villareal and jamie/ ayala/ wilson/ wisdom/ skrtel as others to cover.
LW i could see Marveoux and Dzrusdak from PSV and for RW i could see Jarvis/ Turan/ Hulk/ Gervino where all can also play in LW roles and Hulk/ Gervino can cover forward and only other player i could see coming is Y'Villa/ Honda for DMC/ MC role to provide better option. and we know Honda can cover few places and would be good business in asian market and able cover/ replacement for aging gerrad. . anyone who is expecting Young, Adam, Contreao, Kaka, Mexes, Javi Martinez, Taiwo would not not happen. as far outgoings i would say big clear out with . .Insua, Konchesky, Aurelio, Greek, Agger, Poulsen, Nabil Al Zahar, Degen, Cole, Jovanovic, Ngog

06 Apr 2011 19:45:04
Ed do you know if we have followed up our earlier interest in Ever Banega or Steven Defour? These two would be a centre midfield pairing for years to come.

These two and the emergence of the likes of Coady, Suso and Sterling would be excellent with wide men like Marvuaex and others. {Ed002's Note - No news on either.}

It seems increasingly likely that Liverpool will go ahead and secure the services of Rennes enigmatic midfielder Sylvain Marveaux on a free this summer. Some even claim that he s signed for the club already, having spotted the French youngster at Anfield with Damien Comolli earlier in the season. I ve never seen Marveaux play in Ligue 1, so I don t have anything sensible to say about him, but I did ask my dear Twitter-comrade Bastien Leclair (@puchkin_b) to write up a scouting report on this injury-plagued attacking midfielder. Thankfully, he duly delivered, and now we can all have the pleasure of getting to know Liverpool s new signing a little better from footballing perspective. Enjoy!

Words by Bastien Leclair

I was asked to put together a blog regarding Rennes Sylvain Marveaux, the Reds long awaited Bosman signing in view of next season. While some uncertainty remains regarding his arrival at Anfield , it seems fair to say that a move to anywhere else than Merseyside would be a surprise, if not a relative upset from the part of the attacking midfielder.

So I ve first thought of writing a portrait of the player, but this has already been done and you could find much information on his career, his goals, his stats or his recent difficulties in Rennes across the web. Instead, I preferred to try and put together a report on the player, providing you with the sort of information I think Liverpool fans would like to know regarding his skills, his attitude on and off the pitch, his strengths and weaknesses, and his particularities.

PHYSICAL ABILITY

He has pace, deadly pace, he is very capable of eliminating a defence on a single acceleration. He will take the ball and go through knocks and shocks to reach his target, a goal or a good pass. He can stay on his legs, no doubt about it, and although he isn t of the strongest build he shouldn t be worried with the strength of English defenders. His game made of acceleration can lead him to natural fatigue in the closing stages, but when in good shape he is perfectly able to contribute 90 minutes week-in week-out and bring his fair share of goals and assists.

In fact, his weakness lies inside. While he rarely gives up on the pitch himself, his body has been regulating things for him. He is an athlete, a powerfully legged sprinter, and his thighs have often been a strain to his progression. In summer 2008, after a good first season and a disappointing second term, he picked up a benign thigh injury during a France U21 game. Recovery should have been straightforward, but instead he met calcification issues and was forced to undergo surgery he would miss the following 8 months. Tough luck can strike anyone, true, but the same thing happened to him once again this season, and a minor thigh muscle strain against Brest in November was enough to rule him out for the rest of the current campaign.

TECHNICAL ABILITY

Are you looking for a left foot? His can do everything you could dream of. He can pass, control, dribble, deliver or shoot with surgical precision. Sylvain Marveaux has taken Ligue 1 by surprise in 2009-2010 with his ability to regulate Rennes game, and despite his positioning on the left, he certainly was Rennes real playmaker throughout the season. He can take free-kicks like this one, deliver assists or make the difference by himself relying on a fantastic left-foot (Video). And his ability and elegance when dribbling through an adverse defence is something one rarely sees and thoroughly enjoys

He relies nearly exclusively on his left foot however, and his right foot and head are of no use in his game. In fact, Marveaux will always look at placing the ball back on his left foot even for a simple pass, and will often lose the opportunity to deliver or build on the momentum he could have gained on his opponent. Also, Marveaux will invariably lose a challenge in the air. He hasn t got the jumping ability, the timing or the stature for those aerial contests, and he isn t usually that bothered.

INTELLIGENCE

Marveaux was trained as a central midfielder, and this is something one can very easily realise when watching him twirl across a square expanding from the left touch-line to the centre of the field. He mainly plays in a left winger position, but he isn t anything like a left winger. And although it could not quite be branded a lack of intelligence, he lacks many of the qualities required of a true winger and especially the tactical finesse required to exploit the flank with full efficiency.

While he could make the best out of his pace and skills alternating runs down the wing and cuts through to centre as a Nani or a Valencia, Marveaux is compulsively attracted to the centre, no matter what. Cutting out is certainly all right, but cutting out from the left when you only have a left foot can sometimes be a handicap. On top of this, his crossing ability is nearly inexistent, and he will always favour a central or individual solution to a transmission to his left back running up the field. The decision is sometimes justified by a scoring action (10 goals and 5 assists last season) but an ability to open eyes to options other than the obvious would be a definite added value to his game.

On the other hand, he sometimes showed an ability to pick up the perfect pass in sometimes spectacular style, and his runs without the ball are often well-inspired and making the assist an easy exercise for his team-mates. With the good guidance and advice, he could certainly correct some of the defaults above and show more of these flashes of superb vision.

ATTITUDE

Again, despite his talent and ability, Marveaux could improve loads on this field. In a 4-3-3 system such as Rennes and in most modern tactical set-ups (In which full backs are called to play a major attacking role) defensive work is a necessity for the attacking flankers. Not only failing to notice the wing-rushes of his left-back counterpart, Marveaux has often been blamed for failing to accomplish his defensive work, whether it is an initial pressing or returns to cover the flank. As a result, great moments of solitude for the men standing behind him, such a Carlos Bocanegra, often let alone to deal with two or three opponents last season, without a hope to see his team-mate rush to his rescue.

Rennes Manager Frederic Antonetti himself admitted that Marveaux lack of work was acceptable as long as his attacking input remained as impressive as it was last season. Many coaches could rightfully consider some of Marveaux attitudes on the pitch as disrespectful to the team effort.

As a graduate of Rennes Academy having gone through the youth teams at the club, Marveaux may well be receiving too much indulgence for his ineffective defensive work. His self-confidence is high, maybe a bit too high, and the wise words of a manager able to make him question himself and his work for the team could be a massive boost to his career. He is able to do the work however, and even started his Ligue 1 career covering for injuries at left back. Little doubt he will give more in that field if a starting eleven position was to be at stake.

OFF THE PITCH

As far as I know, the latest former Rennes player ever to have played for Liverpool was El Hadji Diouf. No worries there. Few players bear a natural talent comparable to the Senegalese s, and I wouldn t think Marveaux raw talent really is up to that standard, but even less players have an attitude and temper as negative as Diouf s. Sylvain Marveaux is certainly a modern football player, liking his nights out, his cars, his caps (he loves caps) and all the good things life has to offer to a wealthy young man. He has never made any headlines for wrong reasons however, nor did his brother Joris (who plays in Ligue 1 for Montpellier), and his off the pitch attitude should certainly not be any worry towards his recruitment by the Reds

Torres is not coming back and we wouldn't want him. His last 18 months he was dross, and a complete disruption to the squad.

He's not unhappy at Chelsea he wanted to go there and that's it nothing more nothing less.

Liverpool have moved on and anyone else who hasn't yet should.

Lionel Messi starts for Barcelona.

Is it only me who finds that funny. . what, they were thinking of leaving him out then.

45 goals last season. . 45 goals this season so far and in line to be beat Ronaldo's club record of 47 in one season! Messi - latin for genius!

Sorry nothing to do with 'pool but Liverpool fans applaud greatness. . well, except when they play for Manure - Ronaldo was rubbish!

Just to squash some rumours which people cling to I can rule out the following players with 100% certainty. . .
Honda - will go to napoli
Sanchez- will go to chelsea IF they stump up the 30 mill udinese want, otherwise he will be there next year.
Hamsik- stayin at napoli
Lavezzi- staying at napoli
KP boateng- may move depending on summer signings but not to lfc.

The only player we have seriously enquired about is criscito, which was not followed up.
I have excellent contacts in Italy. Trust me.

Glen Johnson:-

One of the best attacking wing backs in the English game. He is, in my opinion better at going forward than Cashley Cole and he, grudgingly, is acknowledged as one of the best attacking full backs around.

The big issue with Johnson is his actual defending, which at times early this season has been alarmingly poor. However after being switched to left back, he has been superb in his defensive duties but his attacking duties have been dampened down.

What makes this a little strange is that Kelly has taken over at right back and continued with the marauding raids down our right. Which suggests we favour the right hand side.

I watched the Wolves game live and Johnson was definitely told to rein back his forward runs whilst Kelly was actively encouraged to get forward as much as possible.

The other issue is what we have in front of the full backs. That much maligned Kuyt was a great foil for the RB, always willing to fill in, double up and work the flank with the Rb. On the left hand side you had Maxi, Babel and now Cole and Jovanovic. I'd doubt you'd get more than 100 yards of effort out of the whole lot.

Add into this the awful performance of the CB's and this may explain Johnson being further exposed than possibly he should be blamed for. I think he has improved through the season and i for one think he is the perfect answer to our left back problems actually, despite being right footed, which in my mind is a plus not a minus.

With a decent game thinking pacy left and right sided centre back giving Johnson better cover, he should continue getting up and down either flank and providing that essential demand of getting in behind the oppo's full backs, now we have Carroll.

Agger, Kygiakos out. Johnson, Skrtel, Carra in. Ayala 50/ 50.

Onto replacements next. . .

Pool will get marvex for a free and mabe a few 5m players but not any1 specal cos they won't be playin in erope nxt seeson let alone top 4. . Small club

Rolando of porto's agent has come out and said liverpool are really interested in signing the centre back in the summer and the deal could go through for 13 million. Manure are also mentioned, but I personally feel that fergie wouldn't spend alot of his budget on a defender. I have liked Rolando whenever I have seen him play. He his a big, strong, quick, centre half.He is also big mates with Raul. This could be on lads, so lets forget Cahill and second rate English centre halfs and lets go portugese.

I've heard from a genuine, reliable source that Andy Carroll has, so far, not settled on Merseyside. He is homesick. He also doesn't like the influence Gerrard and Carragher have. They are telling him who he should and shouldn't be mixing with. Not much he can do with a five year contract in place. Let's just hope things change.

There is a interview with him on the Liverpool FC Website, and says how happy he is, and how he has settled in at LFC. And also said this on a interview on the TV. Ross

Thanks ed for replying on my earlier post. i was reading the posts on the Chelsea forum . With all these big players linked and a lot of them expected to sign . Don't u think it is going be more nd more difficult to win the league with Chelsea and Man City spending so heavily in the summer due to fair play rules kicking in .
FSG can spend in the summer but not anywhere near what Abramovich and the Sheik are going to.

do u think that we have a chance of winning the league in the coming seasons if we got some of the players linked with us e.g. Marveaux, Adam et al.

i'm not very confident about our chances at the moment.

S.G.L.F.C.

{Ed002's Note - There is every chance Liverpool can challenge after a couple of poor seasons. Chelsea struggle to attract many of the players linked because they much prefer the option of life in Italy or Spain where there is a very different game played and where there is much less chance of injury. I am sure everyone is working very hard toward getting the right players in who will improve the squad. I don't expect Neymar, Ganso, Messi and Sanchez to arrive, but I am certyain there will be improvements. The club is rid of the interest payments which removes a significant financial burden and will go a long way towards helping to rebuild over the coming couple of years or so.}

Free's / bosman deals somebody pls name me a deal made by any club involving a player under 30 that was actually not massively regreted within twelve months, lets face it liverpool have a very poor record in this department ! Taking that into account i'm fairly worried about the french kid because lets face it if he's worth having then why would his club let it happen ? Anyone

{Ed002's Note - Rennes let it happen to get an extra season out of what they saw as a very good player (who turned down Chelsea and Manchester United). Sadly he got injured. I am of the opinion that the fans really do not deserve Sylvain Marveaux.}

Sanchez will join the spam.

Liverpool football director, Damien Comolli said passer The Reds during the summer term will sign with many top-players, because in the last few seasons they are failing in European competitions.
. .
"We are very attractive for many players because of what we have done in January and match such as that against Manchester United which they won with the score 3-1, is a great publicity for us around the World. "

"We are attractive to many top-player, and we want to sign with them, " said Comolli for The Guardian.

Jose Enrique - £12 million

Summer Outs:

Paul Konchesky - Fulham
David N'Gog - QPR - Loan
Joe Cole - Aston Villa
Milan Joanovic - Anderlecht

Out of 10 what are the chances of this happening Ed? {Ed002's Note - There is a good chance of some of the players being signed, Marveaux in particular. We also know of interesxt in Adam and Young. Personally, I hope Spuds, instead of us, finish sixth and be the ones to play in that despicable Europa. City I hope finish fourth and go play and lose that CL qualifying round.

That Thursday night dross is grief we could do without. Yes it's an opportunity for silverware, but, no footballer of worth would want to play in that nonentity of "who f***ing cares?"

A top three finish next season coupled with FA and League cups wins would be a pretty good campaign.
I don't buy into this "it's gonna take us some time to get back there" nonsense.

Come September 1, Liverpool will have a team stronger than those of Arsenal and Spuds and as good as, if not marginally better than, Manc tramps.
City, as stronger a team they might have, will most probably suffer from inconsistency.
So City and Arsenal can be toppled.

If we can, first and foremost, keep Pepe, add one, perhaps two, centrebacks (Cahill, Sakho); a left back (Baines); three wingers (Dzsudzsak, Coentrao[as a winger], Younh/ Payet); a defensive midfielder in the African mould (M'Vila) and a forward (Benzema, Llorente, Hulk).

With Soto and Skrte likely to be offloaded, Carra past it, Agger injury prone, Wilson not mature enough as yet, I think two cbs should be signed. Restrict Agger to one game per week, bring back Ayala, send Wilson out on loan and demote Carra to an O'Shea. (When Carra calls it quits end of season bring back Wilson.)

We'd have a young but immensely experienced group of young players and experience. We won't like them gooners. Pepe, Raul, Stevie, Dirk, Agger would provide the leadership that Arsenal lacks.
It would be a team of proven winners.

For the prices we'd pay for them (under than £18m each), players like Sakho, Cahill, M'Vila, Dzsudzsak, Baines would prove absolute bargains. It's only for Coentrao and Benzema we'd pay over £20m.

As good as they're, I wouldn't say Sanchez, Neymar, Pastore, Ganso, Pato are the be all and end all of football.
In Suso, Sterling, and Pacheco, we have our own supersters in the making. These kids will save us millions, I'm telling.
So personally, I'm not too bothered whether we say the Agueros and Pastores or not.

Obviously, if they could be signed, great, if not, defo not the end of the world, well not for me, at least.
So to let's look at this.

GK- Pepe, Gulasci

RB- Johnson, Kelly

CB- Cahill, Sakho, Agger, Ayala, Carra

LB- Baines, Robinson

RW- Young, Marveaux

CM- Meireles, Gerrard, M'Vila, Lucas, Shelvey,

LW- Dzsudzsak, Coentrao*

FW- Suarez, Carroll, Benzema, Kuyt

Don't know about ye, but that's freaken' good team imo. Pace, skill, power all over the pitch. Most importantly, no City-like egos. What ya think, ed (001 and 005 that is. LFC folk)?
How likely is that squad?

I certainly think they may return for the others though - van Wolfswinkel will no longer have the injury problems that he had.}

Ed with Aqualani's move to Juve possibly breaking down do you think he may be used as part of a deal for a top player in Italy?

He's still highly regarded there and is having a good season at present so should be a good makeweight/ deal breaker for any interest we have in a clubs player.

I can think of only the below he may be used for.

D. Santon Inter.
J. Pastore Palermo.
A. Sanchez Udinese.
S. Jovetic Fiorentina.
M. Hamsyk Napoli.

I'd say he would be still valued at 15 (due to this season's form) which would make the deal for both clubs pretty good, I.e team losing player to us still gain a quality player.

Would you agree on this Ed and do you think one of the above would possibly happen with Albert thrown in?

{Ed002's Note - I don't agree at all. Sorry.}

{Ed002's Note - He will be moving in the summer - most likely to Atletico Madrid. If Liverpool are interested they need to make that interest known.}
thats what I am afraid of, we might not sign him and would later see him as a huge hit. I hope kenny is looking at him as he is probably the best player i've seen in Turkish football history. .

06 Apr 2011 17:13:05
Finally we have secured an actual winger (if true about Marvueax) and for free a good signing.

Hopefully now we can build on this and identify/ secure some other players that will strengthen the squad. I'm hoping for the following.

A. Sanchez. Udinese.
P. Mexes. Roma (free).
D. Santon. Inter (long shot).
E. Banega. Valencia or S. Defour Liege.
G. Clichy. Arsenal or L. Baines. Everton.
R. Drenthe. Madrid.

This would finally add the quality depth Henry has spoke about. How likely do you find the above Ed?

Good work on the sight by the way. {Ed002's Note - A couple of your list are possibles. Others, like Sanchez, there is little or no chance.}

Ed do you know if there is any truth in us wanting Zhirkov? Personally I'd take him for the right price (7-9 million).

Also is there any truth in these Kaka stories or has it been dragged upby a lazy journo? He could do a job for the right price I suppose and seems a player the owners may have interest/ knowledge in.

I wouldn't pay anymore than 12 million. How old is he now anyway. {Ed002's Note - There has been no declared interest in Zhirkov. Kaka is around 28 and there is no interest in him as far as I know. If there were he would probably not be interested. If he leaves Madrid I expect a return to Italy.}

I heard that either Comolli or Henry was looking to move the academy closer to Melwood in order to integrate the youngsters more earlier in the season or did it prove to be too expensive?

It will be very interesting to see how we line-up against Man S*ity. City have a very 'big' engine room with Toure, barry and de jong all very physical in their approach. If Kenny sticks with the 4 4 2 with Meireles playing wide left with spearing and lucas in the middle, I would think city would win the game easy. I would like to hear the views of my fellow fans and ED?. .especially ED001, 005 as 002 doesn't comment on line-ups. .

PS. .we have been linked with another Lucas, who I believe plays in the Brazilian league for sao poulo?. .anybody know this? ? {Ed002's Note - I would not get too carried away with Lucas right now. He will not be moving to Liverpool this year.}

I see inter got thrashed 5-2 at home to schalke, would that be rafas fault by any chance?

i think jose got lucky with inter honestly he knew they were not good enough to to repeat that success and
left i think his personal tactics of picking when to and when not to manage teams is the key to his success.

I rate Agger as one of the most graceful and skillfull central defenders in the Premier League. Sadly he is now out for the rest of the season with a bad ankle injury.

I have to say now that as good as he is he is far to injury prone and also carries a niggling back problem. For the good of the team and he himself it is probably better that he is moved on to a less physical League during the summer and we find a suitable graceful and skillfull replacement.

Aquilani, insua, el zhar, degen, poulsen, maxi, ngog, soto, cole, konchesky, jovanovic, jones & aurelio, an estimated 30-35m pa in wages!

For over a decade now we av had deadwood like this on our books.

Henry must be pulling his hair out, 13 players surplus to requirements, most r Benitez buys. Its a joke, a mess n gonna take a massive effort to get rid of this lot.

The club has to start investing in players of proven EPL quality & world class continental players. Them lot prob equate to kaka, aguera, llorente, Honda in wages.

And also could u clarify what happened with the Torres Saga. Who prompted him to move? was it entirely his decision?
S.G.L.F.C."

Who was it who put in the transfer request? Who was it who DEMANDED to move? After said move who completely cut his ties with LFC and the supporters with his comments in his interview?

Fernando Torres, that's who.

So what if he's realising now (albeit quicker than expected) he's made the wrong move? Tough titty lad, you made your bed, now lie in it. He will never be welcomed back at LFC, not by the supporters anyway. And if he does leave CSKA London in the summer then he's even more of a w**ker than he's already percieved to be. There are 162 games in a baseball season. Even if the Red Sox have zero wins in four or five there is no way anyone who knows baseball can say they are not doing well. So, either you are pessimist by mature or you are just trying to scare people into believing your assumptions.

With the latest injury news and John Henrys comments about he lack of quality in the squad ithink we can expect to see more that the 2 or 3 transfers people have talked about.

Out
Brad Jones - done nothing, KK prefer Gulasci
Soto - to slow
Maxi - done very little & big earner
Cole - done very little & big earner
Jovanovic - done very little & big earner
Poulsen - done nothing
Deggen - done nothing
Insua - was thrown in the deep end last season and struggled

Ins
2 x CBs, hopefully Cahil plus A N Other
LB - Enrique
LW - Jarivs, Elia?
MF Adam, Mavreux, Banegra?
RW - Would love to see Adan Johnson
ST - Benezema? Would love to see if happen, but doubt it?
Plus a couple of players from the reserves to be given some games too and wouldn't be surprised if Comoli brings in players we didn't even think off

Thoughts?

I wonder if your health is related to the state of your football team? Seems that since Liverpool took a downwards turn so did i. The economy suffered and now i'm suffering with unemployment & Liverpool suffered with debt. Is it all related. Is football a reflection of the economy.

Is your mood related to your football teams performance. I feel like i have no drive. No role model, none of that Gerard magic to feed off of. Where have our leaders gone. I wouldn't mind seeing more inspirational people at the club. Natural born leaders.

From what iam reading on this site i don't think your understanding how putting a team together works. you don't just go out and sell every player because you don't like them. i can tell you now if kenny gets the job he will only get rid of what players don't suit his way. if we get rid of all the players that most of you are saying we won't win nothing next season. new players take time and that's something i don't think with have. i think lfc will buy players that will work hard for the team. not players that are there for the money. don't get me wrong i know we have alot of dead wood in the team that need to go. but i also think the likes of adams, young are not really much better on what we have already.

Looks like we're missing Johnson, Kelly, Agger & Gerrard for the majority of the rest of the season. Aurelio & Shelvey back though.

I'd go 3-5-2 for the remainder of the season as we don't have the players for anything else . . . unless Kenny wants to give some youngsters a go.

Flanagan- Carra- Skrtel- -Wilson

Kuyt- - - - Meireles- - - Suarez
- - - - - - -Carroll- - - - - - -

I'm not aware of Stevie G's new injury set back but I'd be surprised if he's fit for the game. If he is then obviously take Spearing out. Also I'd rather Soto misses out, we need Carra through the centre.

Oh dear we're gonna get battered on monday by city. No Stevie G, no Agger, no Johnson, no Martin Kelly (meaning Carra at RB). Hopefully Jonjo will get a starting place though, the rest of the season could be good for the youngsters.
Ed is Aurelio available for selection because otherwise I feel very sorry for young Danny Wilson playing out of position against Adam Johnson who looks unstoppable.?

Why is everybody on Joe Cole's back? He is alot better than most of our squad and will prove this when his injury clears up. I agree that next season he will not be in the starting line-up but will come from the bench and change the play. If Joe wasn't injured this season then this conversation would not be happening. He is a quality player and that is something we should keep hold of. We need to discard Jones, Darby, Degen, Kyrgiakos, Skrtel, Konchesky, Insua, Poulsen, Maxi, Aquilani, El Zhar, N'Gog. How many of the current squad are actually worth keeping?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Surely by your logic the fee would be £5million then? He's rumoured to be on £100,000 a week and if he's sold in the summer he'll have been at Liverpool for around 50 weeks. Therefore, £5million in wages.

Ed, I get the impression from Henry s recent statements that he has realised that he will need to give KK and DC a significant sum of money this summer to enable them to bring the squad up to the quality required for a top 4 finish. The only way this is going to be done is if we spend some big money this summer. £20m is not enough. As a minimum KK and DC will need £50-60m and if Henry can make it £80m (unlikely I know) all the better. The squad need 5 quality signings which will cost at least £15-20m each. In no particular order we need (1) a centre back (2) a left back (3) a left winger (4) a central midfielder (5) a third striker. £50-60m will not be enough to make 5 such signings. I would rather that we spend whatever money is available on 2-3 quality players than on 5 or 6 lesser players in the hope that they will somehow over achieve. We should aim to get 2-3 quality players in this summer and do the same again next year. Of the 5 areas identified above I believe the 3 most urgent areas which need strengthening are central midfield, left back and left wing. I also hope KK is able to blood another one or two of our young players in the remaining games of the season. Perhaps one of them will show that he is able to step up and grab one of the 5 areas that need strengthening. Reality Red

Who else agrees with me that Liverpool are stuck with Joe Cole until his contract runs out, i think it still has 3 years left to run? (i maybe wrong with this imformation). At the minute he is collecting £80,000 - £90,000 a week at Liverpool no matter how bad he plays, if he plays at all! What other club would be mad enough to match those sort of wages? Let alone fork out £, 5, 6, 7, 8 million in the first place to buy him. As i keep reading on this website he is going to be sold for around this fee.

I'm afraid we are stuck with Joe being on the bench in the squad bleeding the club dry. Unless Kenny can weave some magic and get him to start playing the the old Joe Cole.

Basil {Ed002's Note - His wages include a significant element of signing on fee spread over the length of the contract.}

But nobody said i was a spurs fan, i think everybody should be entiled to an opinion. In fact i would much rather listen to somebodies well construcked and put together opinion then reading the same old crap about signing Adam/ Young/ Baines/ whoever in the summer. When the truth is nobody knows who we are going to sign as of yet.

To this i say "finally some sense prevails" i can see a lot of less useful players cut loose this season and some versatile players bought in just in case.
I am hoping to see the likes of Sterling Coady Suso Robinson Wisdom and Morgan playing.

I agree with the statement that i read about Comolli too. But then again you can read what you want into that statement because if Liverpool don't sign anyone this summer. Then Comolli can say how else are the youngster going to get a chance if we keep signing players in there position they will never have a chance to progress into the first team. If Liverpool sign loads of players does this mean are acadamy is rubbish? Or is this all ready an excuss not to spent much/ anything this summer? And i thought the whole interview was surpost to be about summer signings no non signings as the case maybe?

This is a romance rumour, but still a rumour, and very football related:
The fact is that I think Ed0002, who is clearly of the female persuasion, is in need of male romantic lead. This isn't a personal interest, I have to add, charmingly well-informed and brutal though she can be at times. It's been a decade since I could have been even loosely described as 'young', so our fair footballing pundit is not for me, but all you young red-blooded LFC fans need to wise up. Check this post out, and Miss Ed's response-

Hey ed, have you seen much of Oscar Wendt? If so, do you think he would be an improvement on anything we currently have in our squad?

DownUnderRed. {Ed002's Note - All I have seen this year is the games against Chelsea where Liverpool were watching Wendt's team mate Claudemir. Liverpool certainly have an interest and he is, like me, young and free.}

She is young and free lads. She can spell her own name and all sorts of other words too, AND she's an LFC fan. I mean, what's not to like?
Hats in the ring boys. Who fancies Ed002?
(If you tell me I'm wring, and that 'she' is a truck driver from Kirkdale, I will never post again). {Ed001's Note - you can rest assured that, even though you are miles wide of the mark, he is not a truck driver nor from Kirkdale. I have sore ribs from laughing so hard at the young bit too!}

All this talk of Young, Johnson, Gervinho still being mentioned, Marveaux, personally I believe we only need one winger bringing in, and give younger lads a chance with the other wing.
Raheem Stirling is coming on strong, for me Suso can play there, but would be best used as a CM due to his passing ability. That would sort the left out.
Then simply push Johnson upto RW, an attcking winger with the ability to track back and cover, we have already seen two WB take well to this in the prem this season with Bale and Coleman. Look elswhere, Bastos, Marcelo, its a proven success.
So we already have our RW, then just a LW (Marveaux) allow the youth to push them for their places.
A creative CM, with once again youth pushing through, Martinez would be superb, although I doubt we would get him, Alonso may be open to a return, Banega holds more, but would still do a great job.
A new LB (Baines, Enrique, Izaguire (spelling)), although for me Insua has always performed well, and before anyone has a bitch about him, when he played regularly at the back, with Skrtel, Agger and Carragher out right we had our most organised back four, and conceded a lot less, plus, he had more assists than Lucas and Mascherano combined, plus, scored a beauty of a volley from near halway.
Then striker, Adebayor would be good if his attitude was better, Benzema is good, but can be lazy, we need someone energetic, really attcking and pacey, but still got the height, that puts Gomez and Pato in, although Benzema and possibly Wickham seem more likely. Id have loved Podolski, although fee and wages would be ridiculous for him, and recently moved to his home club Cologne.

So line up would be:
Reina
Kelly/ Carra Skrtel/ Ayala Agger/ Wilson Baines/ Insua
Johno/ Stirling Meirel/ Banega Gerro/ Lucas Marv/ Suso
Carrol/ Wickham Suarez/ Benzema

Bench:Jones, left overs from starting XI above.

The above would be a do able, strong, flexible and challenging team to start next season. It would also fit the home grown rule.

DownUnderRed. {Ed002's Note - All I have seen this year is the games against Chelsea where Liverpool were watching Wendt's team mate Claudemir. Liverpool certainly have an interest and he is, like me, young and free.}

She is young and free lads. She can spell her own name and all sorts of other words too, AND she's an LFC fan. I mean, what's not to like?
Hats in the ring boys. Who fancies Ed002?
(If you tell me I'm wring, and that 'she' is a truck driver from Kirkdale, I will never post again). {Ed001's Note - you can rest assured that, even though you are miles wide of the mark, he is not a truck driver nor from Kirkdale. I have sore ribs from laughing so hard at the young bit too!}

There you go mate, you're in with more of a chance than you thought.

a) He's not a truck driver
b) He's not too young
c) Ed001 didn't disagree that he might be "free"

Go for it!

dave mate, I am not saying that Skrtel is the best defender out there, but i think he has done a better job than the others this season. Has nothing to do with goals - he actually annoys me at how many more goals he should have scored but missed.

I just think people are trapped in the past - Carra WAS great, Agger WAS class - not any more though. And I believe Skrtel WAS the weak link in defence - not this season though.

On a side note - some quality banter by Blair on the Spuds site - keep it up mate.

Poulson off to everton, but with no baines coming this way (he is not a red , he's
a lifelong blue ). I totally agree with a earlier post regarding Adam and Young ,
over-rated and in Youngs case probably over-priced . I also think Ever Banega will become one of worlds best midfielders and we should do our utmost to get
him before a rival does.Turan i would like but we need a ?proper? left-footed
winger.Ed are there any whispers on the wingers situation i.e. PSV lad or some
other continental player ?
ta {Ed001's Note - nothing new, well nothing I can be sure is us anyway.}

With Poulsen's greyhound-like speed, if we sold him now, it would probably take him till August before he managed to get across Stanly Park. It's a big park like.

Anyway, as a couple of people have said, we're 100% still in the mix for Coentrao. We may not sign him, but I do know we are certainly in dialogue with his representatives. At this moment, he is most definitely not nailed on for Bayern or Real. Good job if Comolli can pull it off.

Ed, What strikers did we bid for in january? {Ed002's Note - Suarez, Carroll, Wolfswinkel Hoarau and, I think, perhaps Gomez. Other were part of discussions but I am not certain off the top of my head whether bids were amde.}

I think its time the greek went home, has done a good job over the last few seasons, but he is getting found out with no pace, skirtil needs to stay on his feet, dives in to much for me, k, k has got the kids coming in to the team now , and are doing good, will get better.so give the greek his bus fare home, and get skirtil of his a- e Tony FIFE

Morning Ed's

Is there any real truth in the rumours about Mexes?. I have never rated him and the times I have seen him he has not impressed me, surely his age would be against bringing him in.Its youth we require to build a team for the next 4 to 5 years
Did any of you see the Schalke04 game last night?. I was wondering how the young defender we were linked with in Jan played Papadopolous? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have shown an interest in Mexes.}

Why do yous all think your going to be buying about 7 first team players your owners are buisnessmen and don't like spending money they will only buy with the money left over from the sale of torres and money from player sales which will be around 20 mil, what can you get with 40 mil . . not a lot

Kelly agger and carra are better than skittles we need better quality if we want to be up there next yaer, he's about the same level as an aging carra no worse actually we need hypia here as coach as soon as possible and some one who played like him.Hangerland, dann, or even some one like samba.

Disagree mate - Agger a couple of years ago maybe, Carra as well for that. Agger and Carra both have better parts to their game than Skrtel, but all round I think he has been the better this season.

That's what i'm saying about inflated prices JG mate. You wouldn't want us paying over the odds for our targets? Some people will say that we payed more than we should have for Carroll (which i agree) but Carroll was a necessity imo.

We will have more time in the summer to identify more targets, if we are priced out of our original targets.

Isnt that why we are supposedly trying tio strike deals now? Wouldnt that include a rough idea of the fee - all we will need to do when the window opens is register the player and pay the fee already agreed? Am I off the mark here?

Ed we all know liverpool have a big list of possible transfer targets, but why are players like mertesacker, ashley young, jarvis, jefferen are so high on the list when arda turan has made it known for years he wants to play for us, we could of signed honda in jan so why not now, coentrao has said he would move to anfield but no bid has been made and i don't think we would have any problems signing cahill. There could be a chance in hazard agreeing a deal if a good offer was made. There is supposed to be alot of money to spend in the summer so we should go all out to sign these players and there would be a good chance in NESV financing the deals because there all young world class players. We could then use money from player sales to improve the bench with players like jarvis, adam and dann but please not mertesacker, i would rather keep hold of soto

Seeing these posts of selling Agger sicken me. Why not just have him be 3rd choice CB and buy another very good CB?

06 Apr 2011 00:24:36
AGGER is our best defender if we can get him fit. Pure Class.

Bringing in a defensive partner is key. Someone strong, commanding and a threat from set pieces. Big Andy in defence? Or maybe Cahill? Kjaer is linked. Big Sami back?

Dirks Engine Room
*************************************

We can't get Agger fit so he shouldnt be in the equation - when did he even have on uninterupted half-season? Ship him out while people still think he's decent.

Cahill and Kjaer are not better than Skrtel - if you truly believe that, you are obviously jumping on the Cahill bandwagon (which I can not understand - oh wait, yes I can - he scored two goals in one game recently didn't he?) and believe that because Agger is Danish, his danish team mate must be good too. Kjaer is a much morse defender than Skrtel from what I've seen of him.

I am happy with Skrtel and although I do concede that there are better defenders out there than him, the two you named are not.

Ah my aul pal blair, yeh its a catch 22 situation i do agee but im pretty sure all clubs are aware of what kind of funds we have available, if it were me i'd go all out to get my targets regardless but that's me some might dis agree but with these new financial rules being implemented it might be our last chance to indulge and spoil ourselves for once.
