Give King Kolo another year!

Believable6 Unbelievable1

06 May 2016 00:22:21
Earlier in the season I thought his legs were gone but he's been great and everyone loves him. I'd be delighted if he's on the training ground next year in any capacity and I'd trust him on the pitch too.

06 May 2016 05:50:16
with the situation as it is regarding sakho I think toure will know be staying at Liverpool next year with caulker, skrtel and illori all leaving the club{ just my opinion's btw i'm not in the know or anything) also the early capture of joel matip is looking like a inspired decision, all things considered.

05 May 2016 23:28:26
Imcomprehensible how big the final is. For transfers, hopefully can attract some bigger names of we win it. Champions league under klopp will be enticing! Next season it's looking like CL or no Europe really!

Believable5 Unbelievable1

06 May 2016 01:23:56
Let's just enjoy the game tonight, the final and see what happens.

06 May 2016 00:51:26
I with Klopp if the player only what's to join because cl football don't join us . I what players who give 110% for the team. Team comes before the player I don't care how good there are.

06 May 2016 05:54:36
nobody is going to use lfc for there own selfish reasons under klopp's management and quite right as well, i'm with you on this subject RR football is a TEAM game and its by being a team we will prosper, look at Leicester for proof of what a team achieves.

05 May 2016 22:56:34
Emre Can give him the captaincy and watch him mature and flourish. I really believe that the armband will thrust him into the realm of greatness. I've seldom seen such a combatative, all action, perpetual and poetic performance such as that this season. To echo the great words of an idiot 'Take a bow son take a bow'.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

05 May 2016 23:30:27
Can was in his best position tonight in my opinion. Deep lying playmaker. A quality DM and a strong box to box, possibly Hendo or Grujic who knows but that should be our main trio midfield.

05 May 2016 23:34:52
Not much he's missing in his game, just needs to keep improving. Quick, strong, fit and good in the air. Completely dominated in their. Didn't charge around like he has done before. Was the more defensive of the midfielders today, picked the ball off the back for, like Lucas or Allen do, but has the attributes to bring it forward and start an attack.

05 May 2016 23:41:26
Now I CAN say that we have found a replacement for Alonzo.

06 May 2016 01:27:04
Love Can to bits but not quite got the passing range of Alonso. Then again who does! Can was impressive today he keeps getting better maybe if he adds that to his we can see him become something really special.

06 May 2016 05:58:45
to give that performance after 5 games out and play like he did was staggering, all we need from him know is concistency, what I liked from him is that he played with his head up and kept it very simple, the best news is that he is only 22.

05 May 2016 22:33:06
Who was everyone's MOTM?
I'm split between
Can and Lallana, more so Lallana in the 1st half, his pressing was immense. Can was nice and tidy all game.

We are on are way! JFT 96 YNWA

05 May 2016 22:42:10
Can, Lovren, Firmino. all very good tonight.

05 May 2016 22:45:05
Milner all day long.

05 May 2016 22:45:34
Wat? No firmino?

05 May 2016 22:54:16
Lovren or Can.

05 May 2016 23:04:30
Close one, but I'm going for Can, he was immense tonight and in his first match back too!

05 May 2016 23:09:08
Great performance, thought Fermino, Lovren, Milner and Can stood out.
Also thought Clyne had one of his best games for us and Lallana was excellent too. the difference in our movement up front when lallana and formino play is incredible.

05 May 2016 23:20:46
Lovren can Milner and firmino were all great.

05 May 2016 23:29:46
Toure or can.

05 May 2016 23:32:43
Milner was outstanding today but to give a MOTM is very difficult.

05 May 2016 23:15:52
Lallana for me, together with Toure and Louvren. They were all immense tonight. If Moreno had a brain he'd be great but as it is we were lucky with the penalty appeal. A very good performance all round.

05 May 2016 23:35:33
Firmino, think he made the little difference we needed going forward! Kolo in second place, followed by Can and Lovren.

05 May 2016 23:35:50
Can and Firminho.

05 May 2016 23:39:38
Can had is best game to date for us inthough, but llalana probably did as well. Milner was good.

05 May 2016 23:54:10
Can was my MoM.

06 May 2016 00:08:23
Isn't it brilliant that we can't pick between Can, Milner, Firmino, Kolo, Lovren or Lallana. Great performance accross the pitch :)

06 May 2016 00:21:04
Firmino for me; he set up all three goals.

06 May 2016 01:25:17
Firmino, hands down. The guy is a big game player and he showed it today.

06 May 2016 02:20:20
Reading this thread and LOVE the fact that we can't pick a MOM because everyone was that good! On to the final!

06 May 2016 00:31:56
There is a decent spread of players nominated there - shows it was a good team performance.

06 May 2016 00:53:21
Can then Lovren, superb all round team display.

06 May 2016 00:54:11
Mignolet for me he did not let in a goal. Only joking i thought it's was real team effort tonight. Motm everyone and the fans . Klopp staff. Plas the dinner lady/ man.

06 May 2016 01:02:40
Has to be firminio created all the 3 goals and won the ball back on lot of occasions. Full of running and had a great shot on goal too.

06 May 2016 06:02:58
also produced a breath taking piece of skill that totally bamboozled soldado, not seen skill like that since suarez was at the club.

05 May 2016 22:24:27
Big question is what to do in the build up to the final! League ambitions are gone, but have to balance protecting players from injury whilst giving them game time to stay match fit.

Would play sturridge a maximum of 60 minutes last few league games.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

05 May 2016 22:46:35
Players played til 70 min to keep momentum . Then sub in the kids and recovering players like Gomez and origi.

05 May 2016 23:22:11
Rest them all Sunday, play the starting 11 for the final midweek agaisnt Chelsea and then rest them all at the weekend after.

06 May 2016 02:29:34
Gomes isn't training with the squad yet, but Ings is.

05 May 2016 22:22:09
Yesssss! get in, knew we'd do it! What a night, we played incredible. the cups ours, we'll smash Sevilla!

Believable5 Unbelievable2

05 May 2016 22:19:02
Will Henderson and Origi be fit for the final?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

05 May 2016 22:45:52
Hendo apparently on course and Origi could we'll be.

05 May 2016 22:05:26
Huge thanks to the Liverpool website for supplying a wonderful electric commentary on tonight's game as I was unable to veiw it the atmosphere the guys created was bloody awsome. and fans sounded so so good. Great day for Liverpool.

05 May 2016 22:04:35
Wheres all the cryers from last week. has Klopp turned you from a doubter to a believer yet. Amazing performance. Emre Can must have been healed by jesus to not only recover in such a short time but then first game back plays on god mode.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

05 May 2016 22:06:26
I criticised Klopp but it'd be daft to call me a doubter. I fully believed he could get us a win tonight.

05 May 2016 22:24:37
There were a lot of doubters last week criticising the non-selection of Sturridge and blaming Klopp for ending our season.

Well, it's time to give him some credit. He does know what he's doing. 😎.

05 May 2016 22:31:44
Can can be better than Ballack imo. And Ballack was a hell of a player.

05 May 2016 22:36:25
Hah "plays on god mode". Never has a performance been so rightly described.

05 May 2016 22:23:43
I also criticised him last week and I think he criticised himself after the last game. We saw today how important Sturridge is for us. I wonder what all those who complained here about a lack of fan love to Sturridge think now.

No one here or anywhere argued that we don't have a chance, though. It is great to see that again and again we go out of holes we dig for ourselves in a very impressive fashion. We all knew Klopp could do magic and he did it tonight. Credit to him as well today for playing Can 90 minutes. So far this season he usually didn't play players straight from injury. Its great that he took the risk. let's hope for one more of those in the final. Winning it will be so so sweet.

05 May 2016 22:25:02
Well done Redmen. A truly professional performance all round. The whole team were immense tonight. but a special mention fior Emre Can. To come back from injury and put in a performance like that was unbelievable.
All credit to our fantastic manager Jurgen Klopp and his assistants.
We Believe!
YNWA.

05 May 2016 22:50:23
They will resurface full force if we lose the final.

05 May 2016 22:57:02
Anyone that doubted klopp last week I hope you realise he knows more than us. The game was always going to be won or lost tonight. Minding Sturridge worked to perfection and it showed tonight. Danny is world class and only second to Sergio Augero in the PL and Liverpool need to do everything in their power to hold onto him.
YNWA.

05 May 2016 22:58:53
Can was fantastic tonight. I criticised his form before he got injured. Tonight he was like a player re-born. Great performance for me, probably MoM.

05 May 2016 22:47:41
Ballack can only head the ball.

06 May 2016 00:12:42
Klopp got it spot on tonight, we were fantastic, but that doesn't change the fact he ballsed up last week. Best thing though is that he fixed it. Brilliant performance.

05 May 2016 22:13:41
You still don't understand do yo? Klopp got it wrong last week. Poor tactics, team selection and subs.

He's lucky we had the home game as the second leg and that he got a second chance. He won't now in the final. One shot.

Great coach. Revelation for Liverpool but is human and can still make errors!

If we can't critise then we can't praise

Don't come here making yourself feel better by trying to rub the victory in our faces. Most of us new and said we would do it tonight but still doesn't excuse last week and also we gambles that we did it tonight.

What if they had just played 1.10.0.0 and we didn't score. We should if won the first leg and not had to do another turnaround at anfield. We win 1-0 and they can't defend. Fair does they didn't and we won but don't act as though we were wrong for being annoyed at last week's game

Rent over. Well done lads, klopp you are on your way to cementing yourself in your your history. You could leave now and still be remembered as a legend just for this season. Love ya lad.

06 May 2016 07:19:59
No-one said you were wrong to be annoyed with a defeat but a number of people were overly critical of Klopp last week as it was only half time.
Klopp didn't get it wrong last week, the critics did.

05 May 2016 22:03:59
Emre can, showing us what we have been missing, what a performance, totally dominant in the middle. Don't get me wrong they were dog, but him, Milner, lovren and firmino all had great games. Great game, we deserved it so much, played so well, and like I said they allowed us too, but we had to score. No one had a bad game, Sturridges touch was off but kept his head when it mattered. Sevilla will be hugely tough, they must feel unbeatable in this comp, but what a huge game it is for us.
Rumour has it, soldado is still looking for firmino by the corner flag.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

05 May 2016 22:06:26
Villarreal were only poor because they weren't given a second to play their game. Seville will have the same issue.

05 May 2016 22:52:05
I think its self doubt affecting sturridges ability but even when he looks off it, he still helped us win tonight. On form sturridge would have had a hat trick tonight easily. klopp needs to make him number one and if he wants to start origi then play both. it must be damaging for a player like sturridge to be left out of big matches. his celebration for his goal really show'd how much it meant to him, never seen him celebrate like that.

05 May 2016 22:03:45
Great performance that! Still think Moreno is a liability and a penalty waiting to happen though!

Big shout out to Emre and Kolo. Brilliant!

Believable9 Unbelievable3

05 May 2016 22:42:50
Great game
Some great performances
Can, Lovren, Sturridge and Milner

Moreno is a complete liability
Shame we don't have a back up.

05 May 2016 22:01:20
I knew it, Villareal really are not that good.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

05 May 2016 22:15:20
Don't watch them much but are fourth in la liga and not a bad side! Maybe had an off day but what a performance from Liverpool! Was worried when I saw the line up but Studge, lallana, firmino and coutinho all showed technique, movement and flair. Think of how we decimated city home and away, demolished Southampton, and opened up Dortmund showed what we can do at our best!

Just hope we bring that to the final! . and their keeper gets sent off and Studge gets a hat trick first half. not asking much.

06 May 2016 00:26:10
I was the opposite, the moment I saw the line up I was confident. Still buzzing.

05 May 2016 22:01:20
I knew it, Villareal really are not that good.

05 May 2016 22:21:05
3rd best defence in la liga. Good solid outfit Nick.

05 May 2016 21:55:06
Emre Can what a player. He was awesome today and Kolo Toure wow he had Bakumba in his pocket and Sturridge how we missed him lasy week and today he was on fire.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

05 May 2016 22:04:39
Don't forget Lovren and Milner mate.

05 May 2016 23:00:23
Colossal performance by Can.

05 May 2016 21:01:14
Great post earlier from Kopchu regarding the atmosphere. Absolute spot on buddy! The lack of atmosphere comes with a multicultural society. We just have to accept it and embrace it and as he said. Help those "tourists" out! It's up to those who know the songs to sing their heart out, not just sit there moaning at others for not singing.

On a side note, the atmosphere tonight is electric!

Believable2 Unbelievable12

05 May 2016 21:21:19
A lot of people support Liverpool from afar but can only ever get to a handful of games. Why not produce a song sheet that those people could learn some of the more popular ones. I know I would love to sing but don't have a clue of the songs. I would be more than happy to learn some and contribute to a great atmosphere .

05 May 2016 22:06:34
Why the disagrees?

05 May 2016 22:40:58
Don't want to say it on a night like tonight SacarletJoe, but there a section of Liverpool fans that believe that they are better than others because they can get to more matches than others.

06 May 2016 00:21:14
If you care, all you have to do is google 'lfc songs' and you can get the words. Songsheet? Don't expect someone else to do your work for you! (A good life lesson)

05 May 2016 19:57:53
Come on you reds. i'm a bag of nerves I kid ye not people. YNWA.

Believable1 Unbelievable9

05 May 2016 19:25:46
Good news, sturridge to start tonight!

Believable3 Unbelievable9

05 May 2016 19:35:09
Hope we turn up tonight, nerves gone already.

05 May 2016 19:12:25
Must say I'm very surprised at the team selection, even though I shouldn't be. Did not expect can to start and defenitly thought Lucas would be playing for some defensive cover of they try to break on the counter. Not saying it's a bad thing in fact I'm suprised in a good way especially with the inclusion of studge. But Milner in the centre sometimes doesn't go too well at all. Plan B would be to bring on Lucas or Allen as defensive cover and play Milner outwide for when tekkers comes on (that's if we need the goals of course) . Very nervous, but it's that European nervous feeling you get before the big games. let's DO THIS!

Believable0 Unbelievable7

05 May 2016 19:02:59
COME ON BOYS. do the business tonight jurgen. now you've seen how poor Villarreal actually are.

Hello lads are there any streaming sites that are compatible with iPhone 6S?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

05 May 2016 19:31:35
Download puffin browser, then normal streams should work through that.

05 May 2016 18:54:13
Can straight in team, that says loads. Sturridge starts I'm pretty confident now.

Believable4 Unbelievable6

05 May 2016 18:53:07
Like that team, can might not be 100% match fit, so probably will sit more in my opinion. Sturridge has the pace in behind, but I'm guessing they will sit very deep and narrow like last time, so the more technical players will hopefully be able to break them down! Come on boys, huge game! Need to score early to settle the nerves. Think they'll get one, so going for 3-1!

Read a article a min ago said sturridge and Can to start tonight.

Believable4 Unbelievable6

05 May 2016 18:46:48
If that's correct that's a mighty big call from Klipperty. Playing Can after 3 weeks out with only 3 days training, goes to show what a weak central midfield we have at the moment. I hope they've pumped him up with some Sakho juice and the kid has a stormer, by heck we need him. Come on Redmen make this another Anfield night to remember when I'm in my nappies (which isn't that far off I hasten to add) YNWA.

05 May 2016 18:55:04
Mngolet, clyne, lovren, toure, moreno, can, milner, lallana, coutinho, firmino, sturridge.

05 May 2016 18:57:37
Can and Sturridge both start.
Great team. Come on Lads!
YNWA.

{Ed002's Note - I though Sturridge's religion forbade him playing on a Thursday? Watch out for a bolt of lightning about 20 minutes in.}

05 May 2016 18:59:23
Yes can and Sturridge play very attacking tonight.

05 May 2016 18:59:24
Yes, Can and Sturridge are both in. Lucas on the bench. Let's see how it pans out.
Walk on. YNWA.

05 May 2016 19:32:18
Hopefully he lasts longer than kompany did!

05 May 2016 18:40:00
Can might come off the bench. It's too risky to put him in a match straight away.

05 May 2016 15:17:38
Seriously eds did that post attract abuse? There are some really really sad people on this site who need to totally calm down, jesus.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Sorry about that Waro, but yes.}

05 May 2016 18:31:59
I just can't get over the stupidity of some people!

05 May 2016 17:27:30
Hey lfc fans. I think will win the game 2-1 tonight but lose the tie on away goals unfortunately
Just think lfc gave too much respect to the Spanish side last week.
Klopp is patient and will inform his team bot to panic and just play good football an open them up

But I think from the first whistle pump balls in the box to benteke and sturridge would be good to unsettle Villarreal from the start

Don't think it's going to happen chaps.

Believable2 Unbelievable10

05 May 2016 17:55:54
Well thers nothing like a good positive post just before the most important game of our season, i think you nailed it there. this is nothing like a positive post. Our role is to be supporters, so let's start believing first and willing our players on to greater things. We may go out, but let's at least go out fighting!

05 May 2016 18:33:19
Well said Tel 1949! Red lobster has never predicted us to win a game (even in 13/ 14 season) so I just put him down as a troll.

05 May 2016 19:18:44
I do share you prediction unfortunately but I do think we can do this especially with the line up. Just as long as Milner has one of his good games in the middle (which is rare) and can is actually match fit and on form we should have a real good chance of going through. Who ever wins the second balls, has more intensity and wins the battle in the middle will win the game.

05 May 2016 17:01:09
It's mad that clyne could play his 50th game for us tonight he's only been he 1 year.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

05 May 2016 17:42:57
Or depending what restaurant your in? If uour dining out in China think Everton maybe a wild guess.

05 May 2016 16:05:19
Seems everyone has something to say about the atmosphere at anfield. for some reason European nights are better. The one thing that pisses me off is the expectation of the Kop. why is only one of 4 stands expected to sing. wave flags and banners and scream the loudest. With the future development of the anfield road end maybe we should consider building another Kop!

Believable5 Unbelievable1

05 May 2016 15:03:50
I know we don't have a song for studge what about the kop doing the dance that would be awesome and it shows love to him.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

05 May 2016 15:11:05
Even Ings have a song.

05 May 2016 15:18:41
Not too bothered who, but I wish the Kop would bounce again like it did for Torres.

05 May 2016 15:31:13
Someone got to make one for the bloke people forget how vital he was in the title push just overshadowed by King Luis and stevie slip.

05 May 2016 15:48:35
Sturridge's song should be to the tune of Moves like Jagger by Maroon 5:
I want the moves like Sturridge, I want the moves like Sturridge, I want the moooooooves like Sturridge.

05 May 2016 16:21:18
To the tune of Elton John

"God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes"

05 May 2016 17:24:45

05 May 2016 14:52:13
Really looking forward to kick off and it's only midnight here, if your off to anfeild I am jealous man enjoy . rest of us have to make noise where ever u are in the world stand up and be counted. LFC.

05 May 2016 16:13:44
I blame Joe's knee swelling up on Chelsea.

05 May 2016 06:07:20
Why do you guys reckon the European home games typically have better atmosphere than the PL home games?

I think it may have to do with the fact that season ticket holders aren't necessarily the most passionate supporters - more like the ones who can afford the prices.

Whereas Cup games, especially Euro games, gives the others the chance to catch a home game. So they make the most of it and sing their hearts out for our beloved lfc. Lol

Seriously some of our PL home games atmospheres have been bleh. I swear I hear more singing at away games than home games sometimes .

TNWA.

Believable6 Unbelievable8

05 May 2016 06:28:02
I think your reasoning is absolutely ridiculous. I am a season ticket holder and believe me the fans who hold a season ticket are by far the loudest and most interested in the game.

It frequently annoys me when I go to the game and somebody who doesn't get to go much is there with their camera phones out. As they are the fans who spend all game with their phone out taking pictures. That is not creating an atmosphere! If they want to watch the game through a screen why don't they stay at home and watch it on tv.

Premier league atmosphere are terrible I agree with you, but its always been the case that a match under the lights seems to generate a great atmosphere.

{Ed001's Note - I agree on the phones. That is my pet hate. I would ban them from the ground myself.}

05 May 2016 06:45:48
It's a better atmosphere on European nights because more of the local support gets there, so the complete opposite of your point really.

Why does it annoy you that people have the cameras out? Perhaps they aren't fortunate enough to to be able to afford to go every week or simply can't go every week as it is so hard to get tickets, or they have supported us from the other side of the world for so long as this is the first chance they have had to come to anfield, so they take photos as memories. I am dam sure they don't have the phone out all game. If Liverpool supporters only came from Liverpool it wouldn't be half the club. We have to appreciate all the money these one times spend as I'm sure a season ticket holder won't buy a shirt, t-shirt, scalf at every home game.

{Ed001's Note - it has nothing to do with where they are from, it is the fact they are not taking part in creating the atmosphere or even enjoying it. They may as well sit at home and not ruin it for everyone else, because they are only watching through a screen. This is the problem with the modern day world we live in, no one enjoys the moment as they are too busy trying to record it so they can boast about it to everyone else. You don't need pics if you have memories. There are plenty of professional photographers etc recording pics that you can use to remind yourself if needed.}

Agree with Waro and Liverbirdaet.

Secondly your not really comparing like with like. The knockout stages of a European tie are high stakes and all or nothing matches. If you had gone to the home match against Sion this season or Ludogorets in the champions league last season you would have noticed the atmosphere was flat for most of the game.

05 May 2016 07:07:48
Fair do's ed I appreciate what you are saying and agree. I got slightly distracted by the actual point been made about the atmosphere. But it's only natural to take photos to relive the memory. Any way, it will be bouncing tonight, and I'm sure there will be one or 2 taking photos, or videoing YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - I don't see the point in it. I don't want to share what I have done with all and sundry, I would rather enjoy the moment.}

05 May 2016 07:10:02
With respect to photos - no problem with people taking photos 20-30 minutes before kick off or at half time. There's no need to take them during the match.

05 May 2016 07:15:50
I'm fine with taking pics, but only as long as you contribute to the atmosphere at the same time. I don't mind when people take part in a Kop chant and record it at the same time. That stuff goes onto youtube and I sometimes like watching it, it can be quite hair-raising.

It's different at concerts though. I'm sure artists hate seeing their audience stand there with their phones out like zombies.

05 May 2016 07:24:36
I hate videos full stop apart from family ones, they take the videos then rarely watch them again. Enjoy it through your eyes not a screen.

Just on the atmosphere I think it's more a case in premier league games that everyone's scared to start singing. I'm from Leeds and been a Liverpool supporter all my life but at my first game a few lads round me kept saying it annoys them how non local lads get to games. Are 'tourist' fans going to sing in that?

05 May 2016 07:25:54
Eds point is right, I think it's fair t say it's a general life trend, not a Liverpool local vs. away supporter thing (apart from the novelty of videoing everything wearing off for those who are fortunate to watch all the games) . Just go to any school play with every mom and dad watching the kids through a screen if you don't agree!

I visited Anfield as someone who can't make a lot of games and took a few photos, but when singing or during the game it should be firmly packed away. Memories should be exactly that - in your mind - otherwise you're a recorder of the event, not a participant.

As an aside, I firmly believe both locals and passionate visitors deserve the chance to watch games but most tickets should be to true local fans and no more than 30% to visitors. Those should be sold in a fairer way however instead of everyone getting scalped if they want to get to the odd game from overseas.

Atmosphere and rewarding true fans is everything since ticket sales are a relatively small variable in overall income.

I agree to a point about the phones, IF they are doing it excessively BUT you got to understand that the likes of me that live virtually on the borders of Scotland but have supported the club since I was a toddler and get to may be two home games a season like something to remember. Yes I am guilty of getting my phone out every time I go but it's only to take a couple of photos or videos, especially when singing YNWA, it's always something special. Someone that has come half way round the world to attend a game deserve the chance of a few photos in my opinion. Yes it can be annoying but if you only get to a couple of games in your life then what's going to be more important to you, photos or singing? Both is the answer! If anyone caught the LFC game in Australia last pre-season then they would of saw a jam packed stadium singing their heart out AND taking photos and creating an atmosphere that put Anfield to shame! We have to accept that LFC are a worldwide club and without these fans the club would be nothing, for me we should embrace all fans not bitch about them!

05 May 2016 08:09:46
Sadly my generation are fairly obsessed with documenting every moment of their life and even fairly mundane incidents are met with he reaction of 'pics or it didn't happen'. And we are infecting both upwards and downwards!

On the actual point, every club has a better atmosphere in cup games then they do in league games. Chances are its because of the stakes on that one game.

05 May 2016 08:14:11
Agee fully with Ron. Get your pictures and memories before kick off. Once the game kicks off its about singing and shouting from the stands and supporting the club vocally. Nothing worse than 1000 camera phones focussing on every corner and free kick, and that's from someone who only gets to a couple of home games per season.
To a point to a previous post about being able to afford the season ticket, in my experience the vast majority of fans with a season ticket could not truly afford it, its just because they prioritise the season ticket above other things. For some that is because they have the opportunity to, for others they simply push other things down the line to be able to afford it, things that other people wouldn't be willing to push back.
And the point about a cup game being under lights and knock out is something I also agree with.

05 May 2016 08:44:58
It's because our spoilt fans can be bothered for the big games. They don't bother against the little teams with virtually every set of fans that comes to Anfield singing "where's your famous atmosphere? " they're right it only comes on the big occasions. Too many families, too many day trippers, too many under 10s and too few local young people and too few songs where have all our song writers gone? Get going for every game like the little clubs do and suddenly we will stop losing and drawing home games no doubt about it.

05 May 2016 08:56:53
Cant join this bandwagon unfortunately, if its your first time and u want a personal account of some moment i see no problem taking a short vid or a couple of pics especially if its a good moment. Some can multitask and take a pic and still chant or scream their lungs out as long as their not blocking someone elses view etc.

05 May 2016 09:24:40
I've only been to 4 games. A friendly against Bayer Leverkusen, a Europa league game against Besiktas, and premier league games against City and Sunderland. I have only ever taken one picture inside Anfield though and that was of Steven Gerrard warming up about 30 minutes before kick off in the Leverkusen Friendly.

I actually had a mate at the City game who kept getting his phone out to record bits of the game. It proved Ed001's point though because on the way home we were discussing the game and there were parts he couldn't remember. The bit that really got me was when the whole crowd sang YNWA pre-kickoff. Instead of joining in with the singing he busted out his phone and recorded it. I didn't say anything because he's one of my best mates and he got the tickets which I'm forever grateful for, but it just seems such a waste to be there and get absorbed in your phone instead of absorbed in the atmosphere.

05 May 2016 10:58:11
Mk Scouser I agree with what your saying. I in all honesty cannot see the point in videoing bits of the game. That is pointless and annoying. I don't see any harm in getting a photo out for special occasions, a rendition of YNWA can be very moving or when both sets of fans are waving justice for 96 flags, also again very moving. Just be respectful to others around you is my opinion.

05 May 2016 11:00:01
I go the European games and Cup games.
Can't do the Weekend Prem matches.
lot of people on Here think they're better than others, sat infront of your TV moaning, complaining on the Live Feed.
I'll be singing, win lose or draw.
stood on the Kop with my brother and son. YNWA.

05 May 2016 11:26:16
I personally don't see how someone can't add to the atmosphere as well as taking photos. Are the two exclusive?

05 May 2016 11:36:26
Yeah that's what I thought at the time natural poolie. Live and let live. If others would prefer to live life through video and photo memories then that is fine. I prefer emotional memories though. And how it made me feel being completely as one with the Kop atmosphere was incredible. It is for that reason that the Besiktas game is my fondest memory. It was the only game I've been to where there wasn't a single goal from open play but I was seated bang in the middle of the Kop and when the big flag comes over your head and you can only see the guy next to you and everyone is belting out Liverpool chants it is just spectacular. I don't need a photo or a video to remember that feeling. It will go with me to the grave.

I'm not really for or against any kind of supporters or phones etc. As long as everyone In the stadium enjoys themself, is that not the magic of football? People love it for different reasons and enjoy it in different ways. I was just happy to be in the stadium. I've even come to terms with the 77 minute walk out. I was there and at the time I was disgusted, but when I think back on it, for whatever reason those fans felt robbed and it sucked the joy out of their Anfield experience. So they had every right to protest. I don't agree with it still, but I do understand/ respect it and I do regret what I said at the time to the likes of Waro and co. I called them a disgrace and I was wrong, so I apologise. Football is for the fans and everyone in that stadium should be allowed to enjoy it; however that is done for them personally.

05 May 2016 11:38:57
Same as any major event, football matches, concerts etc. Unfortunately it's modern day life. When was the last time anyone asked a player for an autograph rather than a selfie.

05 May 2016 09:48:06
People spend so much time taking photo's to make a memory that they forget to enjoy the moment in the first place. I try and tell that to my wife who insists on taking 3000 photo's of the kids (which is great) but let's not forget to enjoy the moment in the first place.

05 May 2016 12:36:27
From Australia. I've watched 1 game at Anfield. All I wanted was to video ynwa. But I got caught up in the moment and forgot. Lol.

Took a couple of pics. When they were lining up for a corner. Probs about 6 overall. And of a very young Agger walking the boundary signing autographs

Loved it. Can't wait to go back.

05 May 2016 12:04:25
It is because we are actually playing for something. In the prem we are not . But on the odd ocassions we have been playing for the prem the atmosphere had been electric . Playing norwich in a game that maked the difference between getting 7th or 8th isn't going to create atmosphere. If it was near the end if the season and we were playing to win the title in the prem it would be a huge atmosphere. Cups games have more significance to nothing games in the prem,

05 May 2016 15:28:24
Took my camera to Istanbul, got great pics of Garcia warming up and the stadium before the match. Next photo was Gerrard holding up the trophy. The match and the atmosphere was incredible, everyone was singing. Didn't feel the need to take any pics during play, but then my cameras not that fancy.

05 May 2016 17:42:24
I think many people are missing the point here. There is nothing more annoying than being at the match and seeing people treating it as a tourist attraction. Yes I get it that many Liverpool fans don't get to Anfield much and this is their opportunity to take it all in. But the match is not a tourist attraction its all about, for the 90 mins, supporting the team.
If you want a photo then do the stadium tour, if you want a video of the crowd singing ynwa go on line there are thousands of them. It's not about going to Anfield so you can tag yourself in on social media and seeing how many likes you can get.
Rant over. I be at anfield tonight does anyone need a photo taken? Come on reds!

Hi all,

I'd just like to add my own experience to this discussion as someone definitely not from the area.

I'm from Hong Kong and I've been incredibly fortunate to be able to go to Anfield once (for the first time in my life) to the Man city game where we beat them 4-1. The reason why I say incredibly fortunate is because I'm currently studying in the UK (leaving in about 2 months though) and was able to get a face value ticket off of someone, but when I got there I met two other 'tourists' from Hong Kong who flew all the way from Hong Kong just to watch that and the Cup final. I asked them how much it was and they said the whole package (flying + 2 match tickets) costed them 5000+ pounds each, compared to my face value ticket. The reason why I bring this up was because I asked them after the game how they thought the atmosphere was etc, and they said they absolutely loved it but wished they knew how to sing the songs.

Obviously both myself and the two of them did take pictures at the match (I mainly filmed the warm-ups and a few corners in hope I could record them score), but I knew how to sing a few songs so I joined in with building the atmosphere, while they didn't really know what to do so they just watched the game (and took photos) .

You can't exactly say that they're hollow or plastic fans (I mean they were willing to give up to 5k just to watch their favourite team), but even with the money aside, just remember that for a lot of these 'tourists' English isn't their first language and/ or they don't know a lot of the songs (apart from YNWA of course! )

I'm not trying to say that foreign fans are better than local fans or vice versa (far from it! ), I'm just sharing my own experiences as well as the experiences of those around me. Just remember that no matter where fans are from, we all love the club and YNWA!

FYI I was really lucky that the person next to me taught me how to sing a few songs which helped a lot, so next time if there's a 'foreign' fan who doesn't sing or is taking pictures, give him a hand and I'm sure he'll appreciate it!

YNWA everyone!
Kopchu.

{Ed002's Note - Graet post Kopchu.}
