Would klopp consider making Flanagan captain anytime soon? I reckon he had the passion that's needed.

Believable7 Unbelievable11

05 Mar 2016 21:54:23
Maybe after he gets a new contract 😄.

05 Mar 2016 22:00:48
Sort out a new contract first and make him the vice captain for next season in view of him taking the captaincy itself in about 2-3 years.

05 Mar 2016 22:20:51
we already have a captain and his name is Jordan Henderson, i'm very pleased that Flanagan has returned from a horrible injury and is playing well, but I cannot help but feel people are getting carried away, his first challenge is to become a 1st team regular and a get a new contract, yet some fans want him to lead the team. I think some common sence is required, after all he might not get a new deal.

05 Mar 2016 23:22:02
Well said KingKenny. The captains armband is much more than being well liked. You need certain attributes as well as being likeable.

06 Mar 2016 10:53:35
In all fairness i'd say Jordan is playing worse sinc he got the captaincy.
I think he is too young fir it

One player who leads by example.
Has shown great loyalty to the club.
Knows the ups and downs of being a plyer at lfc hence can guide and advise younger players . is.
LUCAS.

{Ed001's Note - he is carrying an injury and people are so quick to jump on him! The lad should be getting support for going out there and carrying on playing with an injury.}

06 Mar 2016 11:14:39
He would be a good choice for next captain or vice, he needs to cement his place for that to happen. Although at the moment, I think our best choice for full backs is Clyne and Flanagan, I think Clyne left back, because he is struggling attacking wise right now, and Maybe a change up will help.

06 Mar 2016 15:56:42
that plantar fasciitis is a terrible injury he would probably have been better if his plantar fascia had torn it seems to be better for healing peyton manning tore his he was back after 6 weeks not sure if its affected mannings play or old father time always remains undefeated but the tear seems to be a quicker healing job than soreness 8 weeks out with a tear can be 6 months with a soreness not sure if it returns but it seems a nasty injury and sounds painful.

05 Mar 2016 17:20:03
Oh dear Everton! Hahaha.

Believable2 Unbelievable11

05 Mar 2016 17:32:20
Much as I love a laugh at Everton's expense it's a bit hard to do so given our record against WHU this season.

05 Mar 2016 17:55:07
I was actually hoping that Everton would beat WH today but I guess if you want something done for you even with two goals up and a chance to make three, Neverton can be counted upon to grab defeat from the jaws of victory.

05 Mar 2016 20:42:39
they have a incompetent manager, with the squad he has they should be doing better, but the guy has no clue on how to defend no matter what the situation is.

05 Mar 2016 21:55:40
No wonder RM is mates with BR.

06 Mar 2016 05:43:43
Sunderand coming back to draw 2-2 was pretty horrific and felt like a defeat, the proverb throwing stones in glass houses come to mind.

06 Mar 2016 16:00:38
i agree jon barnez imagine if we ended up 2 points out of champions league spot i'd always look at that sunderland game saying that we did get a extra 2 at norwich so its swings and round abouts i guess i'm sure there's other games quits a few we should have done better in but that sunderland game sticks in the craw particularly bad i do think if sturridge had been fit all season we would have a totally different outlook at this point in the season.

05 Mar 2016 17:10:40
Flanagan: “I’m a local lad and this is my club. I want to stay here and help Liverpool win trophies. I want to be a one-club man. ”

Captain in a few years this lad.

05 Mar 2016 19:33:12
Can he take a penalty?

05 Mar 2016 23:29:33
Ha! I loved that one Ron :-)

05 Mar 2016 18:13:28
What club could he possibly go to in world football that would be an improvement on Liverpool? It would be different if he was a world beater but he's an average player.

05 Mar 2016 15:47:56
Sofiane Feghouli of Valencia available on a free transfer this summer, defo worth a punt only 26 years old .

Believable6 Unbelievable10

05 Mar 2016 16:19:36
We need to improve quality, we have plenty of quantity.

Our signings have to be definite upgrades on the first team.

05 Mar 2016 17:39:59
I wouldn't be disappointed if we did sign him, but I'm not sure he'd give us enough extra vs. people like Lallana to be worth the effort. There are other areas that are of greater priority.

And remember that the "free" part will be offset a bit by ginormous wages, agent fees and signing on fees.

05 Mar 2016 17:58:29
Not blessed with much pace but a very smart and technical player.

06 Mar 2016 06:39:29
Fergouli is similar mold to jermaine defoe kinda striker. Very mobile. Would slot into Klopp's system. But we do have similar striker already in danny Ings.

{Ed001's Note - Ings is nothing like Defoe, other than they both play up front. That is about the only real comparison.}

05 Mar 2016 15:31:11
"with an improvement in the fitness of his centre-backs leaving January loanee Steven Caulker an unnecessary addition.

"Now we have too many centre-halves, " admitted Klopp. "
And the eds were right all along!

Believable5 Unbelievable12

05 Mar 2016 15:38:24
Not really. At one point I think we had one fit centre back. Easy with hindsight.

{Ed001's Note - not when we signed him we didn't, as they were all on their way back, so it was easy to see at the time. It was a stupid idea to loan a drunken lazy donkey in on the strength of his work in the youth teams many years ago.}

05 Mar 2016 16:05:28
he makes torben piechnik look like franz beckenbuer, a truly bizzare signing no matter which way you spin it.

05 Mar 2016 16:15:10
One of the biggest mistakes made by Klopp in his short tenure so far, right up there with Migs' new 5 year contract. Hopefully he learns from this, the club has wasted enough money.

05 Mar 2016 16:20:22
Only a loan, the mistake is mitigated.

05 Mar 2016 17:57:16
I feel Migs' new contract is only a caveat to get a decent fee for him? Only a thought.

05 Mar 2016 18:02:19
No, it is not, Ron. We are wasting money on his stupid wages that was not needed. The guy is on 90k a week. A guy that poor at on those wages? Nothing will mitigate that. It was a mistake but understand why he did it. Nevertheless, a huge mistake that will be corrected.

05 Mar 2016 19:35:20
It's not that huge a mistake in relative terms.
90k for 5 months is £1.8 million. We have wasted a lot more on a lot worse.

05 Mar 2016 20:47:19
He's started one game at centre back as far as I can remember, even in the 'crisis', his greatest contribution came up front against Arsenal.

05 Mar 2016 21:35:09
I would not mind 90k a week to stay away from the 1st team, in fact I would do it for 60k, its a waste of £1.8million simply because he was not needed.

05 Mar 2016 21:55:17
Nothing compared to Aquilani, Keane, Carroll etc.

05 Mar 2016 22:53:34
Klopp didn't organise Migs' new deal, the club were already working on it and just gave it the all clear.

05 Mar 2016 23:44:31
I very much doubt a QPR player would be on 90k a week. If he was on that in the prem he would have had his wages halved upon relegation to the Championship.

06 Mar 2016 01:48:33
Ed001 if i hadnt read the rest of the thread your reply could quite easily have been about milan and loaning balloteli i'm sure on some random ac milan rumours page there's a few said something very similar regarding mario maybe not the drunken or swap youth team work for youth potential its apt for both in fact the majority of our loans move a few words about it could be the stock answer for the majority of loan signings i just took a look back at some of the loan signings made over the last 25 years there has been some stinkers mark gayle cissoko moses daniele padelli must be some of the worst.

{Ed001's Note - personally I would scrap the loan system altogether.}

06 Mar 2016 02:28:41
when qpr was in the championship the last time there wage bill was higher than ac milans and athletico madrids i'm sure i read it only dropped 3 million when they was relegated to the championship in 2013.

06 Mar 2016 02:40:16
there was some crazy signings and wages being paid at qpr mainz, also nick, klopp had the power to veto the migs deal, I like klopp but in this case he made a mistake, nothing wrong in saying so, it was not like his contract was about to run out.

05 Mar 2016 14:06:07
Roberto Firmino has been involved in more goals in 2016 than any other premier league player.

Believable14 Unbelievable10

05 Mar 2016 14:47:25
And that's not good enough for brazil! he is going to be a class player for us, the more I see the more I like.

05 Mar 2016 15:21:25
Not being chosen for Brazil is a boon for us.

05 Mar 2016 15:46:24
I'm not so sure about a boon for us Leekuanyew, but a bonus for sure. (I know that's what you meant, I'm just pulling your leg)

05 Mar 2016 16:07:23
it is but for him it is a insult, but the way the brazil team gets picked has been well covered. its a wonder they still don't try to select pele!

06 Mar 2016 01:50:03
pretty much been the brazil national team coach must be easy you get told whos hot or in vogue right now juast assemble a first 11 on highest sponsorship deals give em a rousing pre match chat send em out.

05 Mar 2016 10:57:03
if Liverpool are not winning it i'm not interested, if I had to pick one I would choose Leicester, as they have given the league a good wake up call, also would love to see them in the champions league and shake that up as well.

05 Mar 2016 11:10:57
Leicester and if not them then Spurs. It is nice that fans of other teams can enjoy that excitment of winning the league and it will be fantastic for the league.

05 Mar 2016 11:29:09
Leicester or failing that glorious moment of football for the neutral, then i'd rather Arsenal win it than Tottenham. I know too many Tottenham fans who are simply front bottom faces and only care about football when they are in a gloating position. The fickle Tottenham fan is something of a tradition spanning multiple generations i'm willing to theorize

Also, my Bro who isn't alive anymore was a big Arsenal fan and he loved them. I hold a soft spot for them because of that. I even remember winding him up soooo much about Fowler's 5 min hat trick that i got thick eared and a bruised eye for my persistent annoyance. :D Formative childhood years, i miss them.

05 Mar 2016 12:07:23
Sorry to hear about your brother Ollieston. Completely agree with you on Spurs fans btw! They're unbearable when they're doing well and nowhere to be seen when they're doing bad!

If not Leicester then I hope Arsenal pull it out the bag. Mainly because I like Walcott, Ozil, Sanchez and Ramsey as players. They're great to watch when on song.

05 Mar 2016 12:10:01
Leicester for me all the way. They have been the best team to watch, and it is gives a completely fresh take on why spending millions is not always the only road to success. And who does not love a fairy tale story anyways? Its good for the game, and people take notice of this.

05 Mar 2016 12:39:29
Leicester.
Got to be.

05 Mar 2016 15:22:24
Dun mind Manchester city then we can claim we beat them 7-1 over 2 legs.

05 Mar 2016 15:50:11
I would like either Leicester or Arsenal to win it. Whenever I've seen either team play on TV, they've always been entertaining to watch and not only that, I'd rather it be someone different for a change. Sick of seeing Chelsea, City and United being the only teams to win it in the last 15 years!

05 Mar 2016 16:09:25
no thanks i'm going for the romance of Leicester over the money of man city, besides wich they don't deserve to be champions this season.

05 Mar 2016 16:13:22
Completely agree with Ollieston and EMS for exactly the same reason, can't stand gloating spurs fans and I have 3 in my wife's family!

05 Mar 2016 18:05:46
Sorry for your loss, Ollie. Losing a family member is not something one can ever get over. As for the Pl, Leicester all the way. Arsenal. Not worried. They are who they are, perennial chokers.

05 Mar 2016 18:11:14
spurs fans are so deluded when I listen to my mates you would think they are challenging for the title every year so please Leicester do us all a favour and win the dam title
Up the pool.

05 Mar 2016 19:47:26
Gun to my head I'd say Leicester this season, but honestly once we're not involved in the title race, my only genuine preference is anyone but the Mancs.

05 Mar 2016 21:02:57
Agreed. Fcuk spurs fans. Leicester for me. I have a mate who has supported the wolves all his life, even now that they are winning he is still humble. Not even a jab at them winning a title before we do.

Failing Leicester, Arsenal. Then anyone but the Manx teams and Chelsea.

{Ed007's Note - He won't be your mate for long if he sees you calling Leicester, The Wolves :)

05 Mar 2016 22:09:17
Leicester or Arsenal, never could stand bloody Spurs.

06 Mar 2016 00:24:15
First choice Leicester, second Arsenal.

06 Mar 2016 01:55:34
id say leicester first i like the gunners spporters usually so arsenal second city third spurs last can do without spurs getting more cash from league posistion they will have extra funding over us from champions league funding next year and the champions league lure and the fact there in london to attract better players and unlike when we had the extra cash they don't have rodgers to spunk it away on average players to play in wrong posistions and then loan out like we did.

06 Mar 2016 01:57:31
Either Spurs or Leicester to put it in perspective how ridiculous it is that Liverpool haven't won it for 25 years. Also to stop fans talking about the "nearly" season of 13/ 14.

05 Mar 2016 09:49:01
For obvious reasons not liverpool related bloody shame but question for eds and fellow fans who going to win prem and who would you prefer to win the prem other than liverpool of coarse. Just interested to say people's opinions

05 Mar 2016 12:15:13
how can 4 people disagree with wishing someone happy birthday? not just someone a Liverpool legend! only mentioned because he was 65 (milestone birthday) well seeing how we won in midweek you got nothing to moan over may aswell go support spurs lads your a mess!

05 Mar 2016 12:17:42

05 Mar 2016 13:50:14
. think you've missed the point mate.

05 Mar 2016 15:52:08
A day after Zico and myself. I still remember the Kop singing happy birthday to Kenny against United. The beaming smile on his face was excellent to see.

Happy Birthday King Kenny!

05 Mar 2016 16:22:16
He never bought me a cake 😡.

06 Mar 2016 01:58:24
scouse john all the disagrees are probably other teams fans bored so came to troll lfc page i remember once there was disagreements for rip post must be highlight of there day anonymously trolling this page sad really but whatever floats there boat.

06 Mar 2016 09:45:51
never thought of that ( not something I would do so never crossed my mind) thanks gib.

06 Mar 2016 09:46:30
marshy I did soz new day an all that.

05 Mar 2016 07:45:37
any hope that Liverpool will buy a keeper with a bit of tactical know how, that will organise his defence or at least let his presence felt never mind heard?

Believable3 Unbelievable16

05 Mar 2016 08:30:09
I think most of us are hoping for improvement in that area!

05 Mar 2016 16:15:17
con_001 not just a goalkeeper to do what you described mate, but one who can get his angles right and know when to leave the line and when to catch or punch or use hands or feet to try and save a shot, not one who tries to do both in a single movement, look at the goal at Wembley that was a job for his feet, not his hands. A good goalkeeper will inspire the defence no matter who the defenders are like de gea does at man utd.

06 Mar 2016 00:25:19
We really could do with someone reliable with authority in the box.

05 Mar 2016 07:36:10
Fellow reds, although season had been poor, we have better chance moving forward to next season. Hopefully olayers remain fit. Everyone is taking time to gel in new system and players in can, firmino, milner are getting productive now.

We also have a core of players like hendo, couts, studge whom we can bang on.

However i still believe we lack goal count. it does not need to be 100+, but strikers coulf not score 10+.

Hopefully ings and orgi can give solution.

Although milner has been playing here and there he has 7goals and 7 assists this season for us.

05 Mar 2016 03:42:04
Only had the chance today to sit down and watch the Liverpool v Man City full replay and man what a great team display, one of the things I love the most is when a player has the desire to win back the ball and work hard for the guy next to him, when that system works its hard to fault.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

05 Mar 2016 08:54:56
that's why I like firmino. forever doing that.

04 Mar 2016 14:41:47
Who in your opinion do you think needs to go this summer? For me I'd be happy with this

Mignolet £6/ 8 mil or kept as a number two
Bogdan £1 mil
Moreno £6/ 8 mil
Wisdom £1/ 4 mil
Skrtel £4/ 6 mil
Ilori £4/ 6 mil
Sakho if the right bid came in
Milner £6/ 8 mil
Lallana £12/ 18mil
Lucas if the right bid came in although he has been our best player this season I think he gives to many free kicks away but I'd be happy to see him stay
Ibe £10/ 15 mil with a buy back I think he's struggled this season
Benteke £19/ ? Mil just happy to get something back
Ballotelli as much as we could con out of someone.
Out of the youngsters only Stewart, Ojo, smith, Kent (in glimpses) and texiera have impressed me, although maybe texiera will be gone.

05 Mar 2016 03:46:24
Sell ibe cause he hasn't had a good season? he's only a kid sort ye head out.

05 Mar 2016 06:59:50
Bogdan will be released and we will have to pay him off. He will not be sold for a fee, i'm pretty sure of that. I can see Moreno being loaned out. After the season he has had, do not see any mid table La liga or Serie A club paying what we would want for him. Loan to buy option seems our best route at this point of time. Same goes for Mignolet. No club will be foolish enough to pay anything more than 5 million for him. He is another player the club will have to sell at a loss. No need to sell Lucas, Sakho, Milner and Ibe. The rest i agree with u.

05 Mar 2016 07:09:22
Quite where you get thise valuations from I do not know.

05 Mar 2016 07:45:29
13 players yo be moved on? TRANSITION TRANSITION! Oh by the way, you missed Luis Alberto. ;-)

05 Mar 2016 09:52:18
The reason I'd sell Ibe with a buy back clause is I always think he'll have to much pressure on him to be the next sterling and unless we get another Suarez to free up space for everyone I don't think he'll shine. One player I'd like to prove me wrong though. I also like sakho but he's injury prone and doesn't stay fit enough to forge a good partnership.

Lucas I like but if we could get sensible money and there was an upgrade available I'd take it as his legs have gone and he gives unnecessary free kicks away. As for 13 players, we have an inflated squad of mainly average players. The money spent under Benitez, dalglish and Rodgers should have us competing at the top but instead we've over spent on average players, hopefully under Klopp this changes and hopefully we stop missing out on main targets after insulting them with stupid bids.

We can't bring decent players in without trimming the squad or the wage bill, the youngsters will hardly ever get a chance while there's 2/ 3 senior players ahead of them and the only reason some have had a chance this season is due to injuries.
