Dybala 21%
Neymar 28%
Salah 29%.

Very good, doesn't surprise me going on his form though, he's unreal that lad, if he carries on like that we're laughing.

04 Nov 2017 23:16:46
Thought he had to have a million chances to score? Lol.

05 Nov 2017 04:41:45
What you are posting are FAKE STATS. Salah has scored 7 goals from 36 shots in pl and 4 from 21 in CL. Now I am no PhD in maths but that doesn't come to 29% however you may try.

05 Nov 2017 08:26:00
Oh dear, a United fan on the Liverpool page trying to give you a maths lesson Jayden.

Why don’t you ask him what the percentages are in regards to :

Goals V Pounds spent - Salah V Lukaku

😂😂😂.

{Ed025's Note - thats moving the goal posts drogie, the guy raised a valid point..

05 Nov 2017 08:35:16
Biggest stat that cannot be disputed. Salah scores goals. End of story!

05 Nov 2017 08:37:15
Moyes seems as you are the man on TRUE STATS then. Any chance in enlightening us on how many buses does Moaninho park a game is it 1 or 2.

05 Nov 2017 08:52:39
Actually his shots to goal ratio is 21 % so Mr. moyes here is right, it doesn't matter though, he is improving his finishing and is the kind of player who has massive determination to be the best and improve all the time.

05 Nov 2017 09:41:20
Drogie and Jayden you want nos how's 2nd vs 6th or gd of 17 vs 4. Also you may or may not like the bus parking but it makes sure you don't get smashed 4-1 or 5-0.

05 Nov 2017 10:30:25
Haha nice Moyes. When is your trophy presentation then. As I didn't realise they handed out trophies for 2nd place in Nov. I always assumed the league finished in may. Another stat I was wrong on obviously 😉.

05 Nov 2017 08:35:21
United under Ferguson moved the goal posts most weeks Ed25, he should be used to it!

I’m raising a valid point too, asking a very valid question
👻👻.

{Ed025's Note - im not saying that your not drogie, just that it has sod all to do with the original question mate..

05 Nov 2017 09:10:13
and good luck vs Watford today ed025!

{Ed025's Note - thanks KIAK, i suspect we might need it mate..

05 Nov 2017 11:12:24
yeah man, watford are dangerous!

05 Nov 2017 13:44:14
Jayden we had 3 last 2 seasons how many has klopp won in 2years?

05 Nov 2017 21:30:26
Shock at the previously silent United fans piping up again this season. “Sing when you’re winning” springs to mind.

04 Nov 2017 22:02:50
Did Dejan get MOM 🤣💪✌hiccup 😏.

04 Nov 2017 23:47:44
No he only had 5 minutes.

04 Nov 2017 23:48:04
very good move all round bt Klopp to bring Lovren on for the last few mins, one, they were sure to be pumping lots of high balls into our box, and two, it gives Lovren and the fans more believe in him, and we can all move on from the Spurs game, clever move .

05 Nov 2017 08:37:56
Great man management by Klopp there mate. He may want to replace him BUT he can't do it right now so he has to help him, keep him on-side and motivate him cos like it or not, we are going to need Lovren to play quite a few blinders for us as the season progresses and he won't be able to do that if he keeps getting scorned. Also, mad props to the fans who voted Lovren Player of the month as that was a true gesture of support to him and his family, stressing that we are with him and his family during these trying times off the pitch.

05 Nov 2017 09:51:36
Does Klopp want to replace him though?
I bloody well hope so.

04 Nov 2017 21:08:58
Really happy with the result predicted pre match a good win so maybe I might do it next time as well lol but just one slight issue I know gomez was at fault for the goal but does anyone remember the hernandez shot before we scored our first goal? what was mignolet doing it was a pathetic attempt to save the ball and we are lucky he hit the post
I really have no faith in him in any shot aimed at him but all in all we won so I am over the moon
well done klopp once again for benching milner for ox.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

04 Nov 2017 23:11:34
I think it was Ayew who hit the post.

04 Nov 2017 23:27:52
Give it a rest fella.

04 Nov 2017 23:50:41
it was Ayew, he is on fire right now, we got lucky with that shot, but hey, we could have scored 6 or 7 goals, just enjoy our last three wins .

05 Nov 2017 06:42:49
not sure if you understood my post pre match and after match as well Im very very happy just my slight moan lol but im enjoying these victories and when we lose you will never see me moan either.

05 Nov 2017 08:41:53
In every game, there are little erors here and there and that can happen. Look at Moreno for example, who played the ball right across the backline and Migs had to come out and win a 50/ 50 ball cleanly off a tackle on Lanzini which on another day, could have been a penalty. Migs is not getting credit for that now, is he? Mind you, I think he's crap and should not be playing BUT credit to who credit is due on that play as he saved our bacon on that one. Let's just all enjoy the win and hope for more in the next game vs Saints who often play us as if it is their CL final.

04 Nov 2017 20:40:59
seems any game I miss we win. Does any kind soul want to do player ratings please?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

04 Nov 2017 21:05:01
Mingolet: 6
Gomez: 6
Matip: 7
Klavan: 7
Moreno: 7
Can: 7.5
Wiji: 7
Ox: 8
Mane: 8.5
Salah: 9
Firmino: 8.5.

04 Nov 2017 21:11:24
I'm not as good as ed001 but I'll try:

Mignolet: Tried to taking too much time on the ball and almost gave West Ham a goal in tge first half. Not good enough for Liverpool, end of. 4/ 10

Gomez: Not much to go off really, solid for most of the game, should have done better for the West Ham goal, but he started the move for the 4th goal.7/ 10

Matip: Tap in goal, but he did well to put in the corner. Didn't really put a foot wrong.7/ 10

Klavan: Had nothing to do really. 7/ 10

Moreno: Carried on his good form today, made some positive runs and defended well when required to.8/ 10

Can: Again, made some solid runs and played the holding role well.7/ 10

Wijnaldum: Probably his best away performance, his passing was perfect all game. 8/ 10

Oxlade-Chamberlain: Motm contender. He is so different to the rest of our midfielders, his pace and work ethic is brilliant. Delighted for him to score.9/ 10

Mané: Surprising to see him start, but he was excellent again. He was tiring towards the 70 minute mark, but his two passes to Salah's goals were spot on. 9/ 10

Firmino: Typical Firmino at his best. His runs off the ball were excellent, and he basically started off the move for our first goal. Had a brilliant chance to score but scuffed his shot.8/ 10

Salah: Probably his best performance so far. Two excellent goals. His runs are unreal and he's surprisingly strong.10/ 10.

04 Nov 2017 21:59:12
A bit harsh giving Mignolet a 4, I agree he’s not good enough but he didn’t do much wrong today, I think you are letting your opinion of him cloud your judgment.

04 Nov 2017 22:06:47
Good post Jeme, I'm with you especially on Salah, the lad has really hit the ground running (no pun intended) he's incredible.

Ox was again very good, didn't take long for him to settle in, I want to hear from the Ox haters now? I think he fits the system perfectly.

Moreno this season has shocked me, we all wanted rid, he's not perfect we all know that but credit where due, he's had a good season so far and deserves t be starting every game.

04 Nov 2017 22:46:06
Ox had a good game today and got his goal. But let's not get too carried away with the old i told you so quotes to the people who questioned him or his price tag as it's 1 game and when compared to Salah who actually cost less and plays in the same position as him he's hardly knocking on the door for player of the year just yet.

04 Nov 2017 23:23:22
Gomez 7? Are you kidding me he was shocking in second half.

04 Nov 2017 23:44:33
Have to disagree smeg. Sure he didn't have a lot to do but when called upon he showed he's indecisiveness for their goal. Even the Ayew chance highlighted how poor he is at 1on1s. Literally everytime an attacker is 1on1 with Mingolet its a guaranteed goal, he makes it so easy for the attacker.

04 Nov 2017 23:49:50
Why rate? Nothing to critisise. 3 points. On to the next.

05 Nov 2017 00:04:47
Thanks Corleone. Looking back on it Smeg Head, I probably was a bit harsh on Mignolet, but I still stand by my opinion that he isn't good enough for us. Mcgoveb I think I'm just being biased mate, me and my brother went out after the game to the buses and Gomez stopped to sign his shirt, so I gave him bonus points for that.

05 Nov 2017 08:45:55
Jeme, Migs is not good enough and even Klopp knows that and wants rid. He had not much to do and was indecisive on a couple of occasions BUT he did well to tackle Lanzini cleanly and win the ball after Moreno ad stupidly played the ball across the whole back line for no apparent reason. All in all, a good win, 3 points and on to the next game.

05 Nov 2017 11:57:13
Great stuff, thanks lads.

05 Nov 2017 13:50:21
Gomez 7? lol. bias rating.

04 Nov 2017 20:40:53
Weird game today, at times we looked impressive others like West Ham, a lot of long balls, giving it away cheaply. West Ham were woeful and we beat them comfortable is the main thing though!
Would have liked maybe seen grujic or a little more of solanke - 4-1 20 to go is a good time for them, and would be more useful than giving Milner a run out.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

04 Nov 2017 21:35:33
Klopp knew what he was doing, Milner helped break up any chances WHU were trying to string together. I would say that there really wasn’t too much to moan about today. Yeah they got a goal, but it was well taken and Gomez will learn from it. Great play and well closed out.

04 Nov 2017 23:13:15
Migs has the slowest feet of any footballer I’ve ever seen. It was highlighted today when Klavan gave him a bad pass and he nearly got caught when he should’ve got there comfortably. I bet as a kid he always got picked last and they would stick him in goal because he’s slower than my man after she’s raided the Christmas sherry! I hate bashing players but as long as he’s in goal we will concede more goals than we should. The Atsu chance he just wasn’t quick enough off his line and the same with the goal he just makes it so easy for the attacker to stick it past him.

04 Nov 2017 23:18:55
The higher tempo we play the better we get, The start of the game wad like a pre season friendly,

04 Nov 2017 23:52:11
I hate bashing players. After a 1-4 how can you bash anyone. Give the guy a break and do the washing up or something.

05 Nov 2017 08:47:51
Ings, Migs is not good enough and even Klopp knows that so no need beating a dead horse. We won and that should be all that matters.

05 Nov 2017 08:53:11
It’s not a moan, more an observation that I’ve never really thought of before. With us holding such a high line we need a keeper with good feet and pace to get out and sweep behind the defence. Perhaps that’s why Migs struggles so much, you can’t learn to run fast. Anyway you are right, good win let’s hope for a Palace win and 2 draws with lots of injuries today 😉.

04 Nov 2017 19:23:12
great result from the lads today a special word for the OX thought he was outstanding.

Believable11 Unbelievable1

04 Nov 2017 19:56:50
Well done to the boys, the staff, the away supporters who never stopped singing and to Klopp, who played a blinder tactically by starting Mane on the left and Salah in the no. 10 role behind Firmino. WH could not live with the perpetual movement of our front 4. 3 wins in 8 days? When has that ever happened? Not for a while. Enjoy it, redmen. You deserve it.

04 Nov 2017 20:05:16
Agree Redsteve I thought he was really good and gave us energy and work rate been impressed with him last few weeks. And Salah is quality. Well done Klopp and the boys.

04 Nov 2017 20:04:05
Mingo still with the stupid mistakes! Delighted with the Pts tho! Love to see palace Everton and West Ham go down! Surrry ed25.

{Ed025's Note - no need to apologise to me jay, iif liverpool were in our position i may be saying the same mate..

04 Nov 2017 20:27:21
I'll be much happier leaving London this week than two weeks ago, that's for sure. Oxlade-Chaimberlain was very good, delighted for him.

04 Nov 2017 20:37:02
Ed25 be honest you'd be livin life to the full if u seen us in the gutter 😂 But I love your banter mate your gift 👌🏻.

{Ed025's Note - all is fair in love and football jay, banter is great until its taken too seriously, i can give it and take it mate and live in hope that everton are in a position to give some out..

04 Nov 2017 21:39:01
That's true pal give in take I know come the end of season you'll not be down there but I can only wish 😉.

{Ed025's Note - thanks for that jay..

04 Nov 2017 23:18:20
That depends who they get in Jay. I see Moyes is sniffing around the job, please god make it be him 🙏🏻. If that happens it would be the end for Everton although I would miss taking points off them every season.

05 Nov 2017 03:16:08
I’m always happy to finish above Everton but I don’t want the bitters relegated. They stood with us after Hillsborough and they are Liverpol as well. Forth from bottom maybe ;-)

04 Nov 2017 18:31:49
Hey ed001, what do you think about barrie mackay. Looks a decent places.
Thanks and keep up the good work.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - goes missing 9 times out of 10 and shirks a challenge.}

04 Nov 2017 17:27:34
Hey Ed's, considering the struggles at CB why has Joe Gomez not received another shot at the position?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - because he is gaining experience at right back first.}

04 Nov 2017 17:57:04
I expect Gomez will get a shot at CB once Clyne is fit. I don't think Klopp wants to rely on TAA as his starting RB yet.

04 Nov 2017 19:26:31
I honestly don’t think Gomez is ready to play CB yet, I think he’s better off playing at right back for this season at least.

04 Nov 2017 19:34:24
Don't think Gomez is good enough at all in any position.

04 Nov 2017 19:59:08
Gerry, I disagree. Gomez is not the finished article yet BUT he is growing and learning in every game and I think with time, he will be a very good CB. He needs to be playing regularly to get more experience as he is only a kid and at that age, playing is more important than where you play cos that is the only way he will learn.

04 Nov 2017 20:27:32
Remember Carra.
Was used as left and right back, gained experience then became a monster CB. that's the way sometimes if you're going to create a great CB.

04 Nov 2017 22:10:07
Clyne won’t be getting back in the team while Gomez is fit.

04 Nov 2017 23:26:24
Carra was a very accomplished footballer who could play midfield, full back and centre half at a high level,

This lead to him being frustrated at international level as the managers loved him in the squad as he could cover all them positions but not nail down one definite one for himself,

Top player,

05 Nov 2017 00:15:08
isnt Gomez only 20 yrs old, I think he is doing really well, how can anyone put him down .

05 Nov 2017 06:25:51
Gomez is 20yrs old and coming back from a major injury lay off. He is going to be a great player for us.

04 Nov 2017 16:43:11
No matter how we get on today kudos to klopp for not taking the safe option and playing milner. ox deserves the chance to show what he can do from midfield and I am predicting a very good win for the mighty reds.
Also ED 01 can you pleased give me your opinion on if you feel Sturridge will be at anfield next season.
Personally I really hope so.
Thank you.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - probably not.}

04 Nov 2017 20:01:10
Don't think so either, Ed. In fact, I remember you mentioning that Origi is out on loan cos Studge could not be moved on in the summer as he was the one to step into Studge's position in the pecking order. If that is the case then expect Studge to be gone and Origi to return.

04 Nov 2017 23:09:40
If sturridge go hope we get Timo Werner.

04 Nov 2017 23:38:00
I can't see Who would buy Sturridge and pay him the wages he is on at us,

He is contracted up to the end of next season 18/ 19,

I think that unless he gets fed up with the bit part role and asks to leave then he is here till then,

Down hill from here I think for Sturridge, Its such a shame that he will probably be remembered more for his injuries than his goals.

05 Nov 2017 00:17:22
think Werner scored again this evening .

04 Nov 2017 16:30:16
If we loose Can, in my opinion is to buy back Jonjo Shelvey.
He is a cracking middle we have just missing.

Believable1 Unbelievable18

{Ed001's Note - god no.}

04 Nov 2017 16:47:12
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

04 Nov 2017 16:47:15
Dear god no.

04 Nov 2017 16:52:57
Fair enough fans have opinion but that is just laughable.

04 Nov 2017 16:59:02
Please tell me you're taking the piss.

04 Nov 2017 19:51:41
If Shelvey can calm his temperament then just could be.

{Ed001's Note - just could be what? Lazy?}

04 Nov 2017 20:01:35
That's a joke, right?

04 Nov 2017 20:24:20
What are u smoking over there! The only positive thing I can say about shelvey is that he has a good right foot.

04 Nov 2017 20:31:19
Good gosh! Hey while we are at it we may as well re sign Charlie Adam too!

04 Nov 2017 23:20:43
Get off this site Jonjo.

04 Nov 2017 23:27:34
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. unless they suggest we sign Jonjo Shelvey. Mcheshi you are hearby banned from having an opinion as you obviously can’t be trusted with it. 😉.

04 Nov 2017 21:50:55
Ed do u think grujic will ever be good enough he has all attributes of can and more very tall, eye for goal, passing is quality, technically very good I would hate him too leave without getting a chance I got a feeling he could b another suso pogba de brunye lukaku who slipped the net.

{Ed001's Note - I am not convinced by him at all yet, though I do believe he suffers because he tries too hard when he does get chances, so I am not judging him until he gets a proper chance. However, I don't think he has done anything to suggest he deserves more game time, even less to suggest he would be a mistake to move on. I have seen nothing of those qualities in him at all.}

05 Nov 2017 06:26:58
Yeah let's buy Shelvey and bench Keita 😂.

04 Nov 2017 15:39:21
please Eds would you give me the link to the legends player profile and do you do past teams profiles and thank u.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Legends Part 2 - Ferenc Puskas

The link to the 1st one is at the bottom of the page.

I will be doing a series on great teams in the future, probably start on the first one over the international break all being well.}

04 Nov 2017 18:29:28
That sounds awesome ed, can’t wait! Speaking of which, what are the teams currently that you would consider playing “attractive football” and would be a good watch? It could be in any of the major leagues, just interested in your ciew. From what I’ve seen Napoli is playing a blinder, and for the last few seasons as well.

{Ed001's Note - Napoli are the outstanding one, I would also say still Monaco, probably Nice, they are always interesting anyway. PSG and Man City stand out though oh and Valencia.}

04 Nov 2017 19:07:43
Interesting shout on Valencia, haven’t watched them in a while. They’re a long way from the Rafa days though right ed, with Aimar, Mista et al.

{Ed001's Note - yeah but Marcelino is a fantastic and entertaining coach, like a tini Klopp bouncing around on the sidelines. It is worth watching them for him alone to be honest. Besiktas are worth a watch with Babel, Negredo and Quaresma, they can be quite entertaining, particularly when Quaresma is up for it. If you want to watch something good see if you can find the moment from earlier during the Mainz 05 game when the keeper confused the penalty spot with the ball and tried to clear the spot as a forward closed him down.}

04 Nov 2017 20:04:25
Ed, is that the same Marcelino that managed Villareal when we spanked them 3-0 at Anfield?

As for teams that entertain, Roma under Eusebio are quite good to watch as well as Bordeaux and of course, Sevilla.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate. Roma can be hit and miss imo, not seen Bordeaux and Sevilla I dont like, their defence is dross. I know who I did forget - Atalanta, they play some good stuff.}

04 Nov 2017 20:37:22
Thanks for the suggestions on the teams ed. And I just looked up on the keeper, poor chap 😂.

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mate and that mistake was special. If West Ham's scouts were watching they will no doubt be already trying to strike a deal for him....}

04 Nov 2017 11:05:23
Can I just say how much I have enjoyed the articles and player profiles by Adam and Ed01. I am fervent LFC and footie fan but I'm a reactive fan - ie I follow the ball, both at live matches and on tv. Therefore, I completely miss the nuances of matches, formations and players! These articles have been a real football education for me and I love it. Keep em coming please!

Believable13 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much.}

04 Nov 2017 11:30:11
My fave thing to read is the match review. Although I must give MK props for the article on our youngsters, enjoyed that 👏🏻.

{Ed025's Note - carra 23 does a great weekly review of how players on loan are doing aswell Rbbb, some really good information there..

04 Nov 2017 11:22:01
Thank you mate! Completely agree regarding Ed001's player profiles though. Especially the legends ones! Keep it up Ed. Best football site on the internet, and it's largely down to your original content.

{Ed001's Note - thank you MKS. When I first used to write lots no one bothered with it, how times change!}

04 Nov 2017 11:46:55
I feel it's because the repore people have with the eds on this site and constant feed back over years people become really Intrested in what we come to know as knowlagable personal opinions rather then just the feed back from posts too.

04 Nov 2017 12:08:04
Mad props the Ed01 and MK for their great articles. Very informative and constructive and it is nice to see honest debates and conversations being had about our club for a change, in general.

{Ed001's Note - thank you.}

04 Nov 2017 12:11:03
I love the articles Ed001 does due to constantly learning new stuff, also really enjoy the previews/ reviews my favourites must be the Legend series though, can't wait for more of them. It's brilliant to see other posters doing articles too MK has done some really good ones the past week as did DaRedMan. Thanks to all three for your incredible knowledge.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, the Legends series is the one I most enjoy doing as I learn so much researching them.}

04 Nov 2017 12:43:40
I admire that Ed1 mate, I think anybody who has read your legend series ones will know just exactly how much you have researched about the person your doing it on and know you put a lot of time into them. I know with your other articles you can't do them all the time but quality over quantity is what matters mate and all of your articles are true quality! When you first mentioned about the legend series I knew it'd be popular so a massive thank you mate.

{Ed001's Note - I am just glad they are liked. It is difficult doing them as you have to do them justice, they deserve a proper effort put in. Plus you see so many articles these days and they just copy and past in pieces from Wikipedia interspersed with a word or two of their own. I don't know how they can not feel shame for putting out dross like that.}

04 Nov 2017 13:04:42
Oh mate totally, the internet is flooded with that type of stuff, another reason why I won't read any other articles from other sites, we've said it before 1 word, clickbait.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, Bleacher Report do a longform article series that is excellent and thesefootballtimes.co.uk do some good stuff too.}

04 Nov 2017 14:17:40
I'll take a look as never heard of them, cheers mate.

{Ed001's Note - I know a few of the writers on those sites so I know they are honest lads trying to make a name for themselves. Bleacher Report did a fantastic article about Karim Benzema that is well worth a read.}

04 Nov 2017 15:20:15
Sorry if I missed it or really obvious but is there a centralised place for all if these articles?
Read and thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 defence articles but think I missed the 3rd and the MKS and other ones.
Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - Articles here

04 Nov 2017 17:11:13
Thank you to everyone. Really does mean the world to me to get any kind of feedback; be that positive or constructive criticism. It just shows that people still wanted to read it!

It was always my dream to write about football as a job but I'll happily do it as a hobby for as long as there are people who want to read it.

Great bunch of lads on this site.

04 Nov 2017 17:54:10
Thanks Ed 😊.

Read a ridiculous comment somewhere on here about how Suso is now worth at least 65 million! That is the funniest thing i have read on here for a long long time i have to be honest.

Just as an example:

Mo Salah's last 83 games in Italy he managed 34 goals and 25 assists and was sold for 41 million euros from a team stronger than Milan and much more successful in recent times.

Suso has in the exact same amount of games managed 19 goals and 18 assists! How is he worth more than a player like Salah when they played the exact same position in their teams in Italy?

People need to chill, we made a mistake with Suso sure, but Ac Milan quoted Spurs 35 million euros in the summer and Tottenham just ran away for a reason, they did splash 40 million £ on Sanchez the ajax CB so it was nothing to do with money, Suso just isn't worth that kind of cash.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

04 Nov 2017 11:02:41
Those who think Suso (who I always liked and still do) is better than Salah, are just rejecting truth and facts. And I'm not convinced about Sanchez either as he looks so clumsy and rash in the challenge BUT he's young and hopefully, will get better.

04 Nov 2017 16:01:51
Sanchez will grow into one of best CBs in PL.

{Ed001's Note - what makes you think that? He does not impress me at all. Dawdles on the ball, error prone, not the greatest in the air and tends to rely on physicality due to lacking positional sense.}

04 Nov 2017 20:09:44
Supermane, you clearly have never seen him play cos everything Ed01 described in his response about Sanchez is correct. When he first arrived at Spurs, he played on the right side of a back 3 with Alderweireld as the sweeper. He was awful, got bullied left right and center by Tammy Abraham vs Swansea and was very rash, cumbersome and clumsy in the challenge.

Clearly Poch saw what I saw and moved him into the sweeper role and Alderweireld went to the right side of the back 3 so Sanchez could just be worried with sweeping up behind instead of defending out in space and wide areas and getting exposed. The guy is pants and so is Aurier who is all physicality and NO brains.

Hi Eds

Any interest in Goncalo Guedes from Liverpool?
I saw your mention about him in European page.

Thank you.

That the kid on loan to Valencia? Looks a special player to be fair.

04 Nov 2017 10:10:28
A win today would be a massive confidence booster and would be good to see a bit more consistency in results. Hard to judge the outcome of today's game thou because you never know which West Ham will turn up, they look like two completely different teams from week to week in terms of fighting for everything then the week after look horrendous and lazy lol.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

04 Nov 2017 10:31:45
Stop Chicarito and you stop West ham.

04 Nov 2017 10:52:34
RedEka, don't know about that mate, they have a certain Andy Carroll, Andrew Ayew and Lanzini, the later 2 are decent dangerous players and the first is the worst type of player our defense can meet considering how ''good'' we are at defending crosses etc.

04 Nov 2017 11:02:31
Kloppisakloon, Its true but Hernandez is the best at getting in to scoring positions.

04 Nov 2017 11:06:12
RedEka, Hernandez, Ayew, Lanzini, Kouyate and Carroll are very good and clever players so I suggest you approach this game with respect for WH and extreme caution cos it will not be easy by any stretch. Hopefully, we can go in there, play to our potential and get a scrappy win cos believe it or not, it will be a scrappy game.

04 Nov 2017 11:15:40
Disagree there RedEka. Antonio, Lanzini, Ayew and Kouyate are all others capable of putting in a decent shift for them.

04 Nov 2017 11:56:48
Just seen Antonio has a hamstring injury so forget about him.

04 Nov 2017 09:00:29
Good luck today Liverpool with the top 4 playing each other a win would be sooo good. Then next game we should have a few more players back from injury. Come on you redmen YNWA 👊🏼.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

04 Nov 2017 11:07:47
Hopefully, we can get it done today at WH cos that would be HUGE for our confidence esp. with the rest of the top 6 rivals doing severe damage to each other. Hopefully, Palace can do a job on Spurs, not holding my breathe tho.

04 Nov 2017 08:52:38
i think we need to accept both Can and Coutinho are leaving, but who are the likely incomings in January or summer? I'd expect us to look at Lemar, Meyer, Coric. Still an outside chance of Brandt as well, but more in summer.

Keita arrives in the summer so we already effectively have Can's replacement. Would love us to try and sign Sanchez as well.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

04 Nov 2017 09:25:10
Emre is a good midfielder but his consistency is just not there, yes he can be brilliant but he can be very frustrating too often. Emre leaving for nothing means we lose out on a decent transfer fee nothing else. Coutinho leaving should be for the right reasons - a big sum paid in full no down payments, future payments and what if's - luckily for us Real may be interested too which should help with the expected fee.

04 Nov 2017 09:28:29
I think it'll end up being Meyer, although we could easily lose him to Spurs. Lemar looks Arsenal bound. Brandt will not move without guarantees we still can't give him, even if Coutinho leaves. Coric could go anywhere due to the massive amount of interest across Europe.

We could end up targeting someone completely new though. Hopefully things will become clearer in Ed002's next Shakopod.

04 Nov 2017 09:52:27
Just to add, i wish we'd just give Woodburn or Arnold shot at replacing Coutinho. It's not like we even miss him after Salah signed. He plays mostly as a forward, and we have Mane, Salah, Chamberlain, Firmino and Sturridge all good enough to start week in week out. He has played for 3 years on the wing, and we signed 2 wingers in the summer.

In midfield, we'll be fine once Lallana is fit and Keita sign, but at the minute it does look a tad unbalanced. Coutinho looks disinterested though so we're effectively playing without him already.

Arnold or Woodburn can both play on the wing or in attacking midfield; the two positions Coutinho plays. Arnold also replaces his set piece abilities. Just wish that for once we'd not block the path way of our own youngsters, and just give them a chance. Why are Meyer or Brandt better than our academy products? Because they are German? If Coutinho was playing every single game and playing a massive part in us winning games, I'd say we needed a major replacement. He isn't though. His injuries and sulking have made him seem like nothing more than squad player this season. Are Woodburn or Arnold not capable of being squad players? Delle Alli got the nod at 18 years old and it made him into the player he is today.

04 Nov 2017 09:57:34
Why do you say Lemar will join Arsenal? the guy already rejected them once, and all arsenal's efforts to get an early deal for Lemar has fallen on deaf ears both the team and the player!

04 Nov 2017 10:26:41
I think you’re right MK especially on Coutinho. I said in the summer I don’t think we’ll miss him if he goes. He’s become a problem in that he’s not as good as Salah or Mane in the wide positions and he weakens the midfield defensively if he’s played deeper. Just get as much as we can for him and move on.

04 Nov 2017 10:40:01
We could sign messi it wouldn't make a difference until we sort the goal keeper and 2 centre backs out.

04 Nov 2017 10:48:32
Also i sort of agree about coutinho MK, we have Woodburn, Kent, Ojo and Wilson all of who deserve game time and a player like Max Meyer would make no sense. He would only take away what little game time these guys were to get. We have to be brave and play them, and its not like these guys would start often or anything like that considering the would still be behind (Lallana, Salah, Mane, Firmino, Sturridge, Chamberlain in the pecking order)

04 Nov 2017 11:13:45
Meyer is not the answer to replace Cou. He simply is not good enough yet. Lemar wants to go to Arsenal unless something has changed. As for Woodie replacing Cou, he is simply not ready yet altho he can be an effective replacement in the long term even tho he is a different type of player to him.

I think Klopp wants to add more energy to our midfield which is why Keita is coming in to replace Can cos tho I love Can as a player, he at times, takes too many touches when switching defence to attack as soon as we win the ball off the press. Keita is way better than in in that regard as switching defence to attack in one movement is exactly who and what he does.

Can is a good player BUT he simply does not fit what Klopp wants to do long term and I may disagree with Klopp's thinking, I can understand his thinking as the facts bear this out.

04 Nov 2017 11:19:00
Didn't even include Solanke and Brewster!

04 Nov 2017 11:40:21
Kloppisakloon, i cannot remember which editor it was, but they said Lemar is more likely to go to Arsenal. I think our interest was more if a panic at the last minute than because we've actually scouted him. I expect Liverpool to move on to be honest.

Completely agree with you Ings and things. I'd happily accommodate Coutinho in midfield though if he wanted to be at the club. I think he'd add enough going forward to make up for his lack of defensive ability. He is pretty under rated defensively though. He gets stuck in when he is in the mood. Just a shame he's not in the mood this season.

Loris, i agree Woodburn isn't as good as Coutinho yet. He may never be to be fair, but Coutinho has played in less than half of our games this season and in half the games he's played he hasn't bothered to show up anyway! With Salah signing to replace him in the frontline, yes it would be ideal if he could play in midfield. If he leaves though, Salah has already replaced the Coutinho of the last 3 years, so it just means sadly we don't get an immediate upgrade on Lallana or Gini in midfield. I'd hardly say that was a priority anyway though. The midfield will be miles stronger when Keita signs, and we hipefully add a holding midfielder. Pluswith 12 points between us a City i think a title race is out of the question. So why not just give Arnold or Woodburn the 8 appearances in every 17 games that Coutinho has been making for the rest of this season? They might surprise us and save us a fortune! Mane and Lallana are back imminently anyway so for me Coutinho in his current form doesn't even make the starting XI after the international break. I'd rather have Woodburn or Arnold coming off the bench than the stroppy little Brazilian. At least they'd gain something from it and want to be at the club for the foreseeable future.

04 Nov 2017 12:06:10
Lallana doesn’t need an ‘upgrade’, he’s a perfectly fine player as he is. He just needs to be on the pitch helping us win matches. We have missed his energy and skill.

04 Nov 2017 13:50:42
Personally from what i have seen either brandt or lemar are musts for replacing coutinho.

04 Nov 2017 08:28:14
Good morning Eds/ all hope it's been a good week for you all and a better day today once we get them 3 points! :) I don't think it'll be an easy game but I do think we'll win, let's go for 3-1! then we can all chill for a couple of weeks.

Going on Sturridge been in the right places at the right times recently, I'd like to see him start this one, he needs more minutes and I think giving him a full game will help him, he's far from his best but he is scoring and that's what he's meant to do.

I'd also love to see Karius on but we know that won't happen, I want to see him have a challenging game no doubt Migs will be on again, unfortunately.

Anyway roll on half 5!

Believable9 Unbelievable1

04 Nov 2017 09:58:25
Good day man! If we don't win today when 4 of the top 6 play each other, we have nothing to moan about when we are outside the top 4 at the end of the season :)

04 Nov 2017 11:15:51
Kloppisakloon, it is indeed a good opportunity today to make up some ground on our rivals BUT win, lose or draw, nothing will be determined today about whether we make top 4 or not as these opportunities will be available to us throughout the season. It will be up to us to take them.

04 Nov 2017 07:26:34
Looking at the number of Spanish players who ex-Liverpool, I have to say our Liverpool coaching have let these players down big time. Aspas, Luis Alberto, Reina, Suso.

Believable0 Unbelievable12

04 Nov 2017 08:08:10
How can you group Reina with the other 3? 3 players who never got a fair chance to prove themselves and one who was a nailed on starter for years, let go (potentially abit early) due to declining performance and a high salary.

04 Nov 2017 08:54:05
Relaxlabrudder makes a good point - they are all EX-players. While they were at Liverpool a lot of fans were criticising them - Luis Alberto and Aspas especially and let's face it they didn't light up the sky when they were given an opportunity. The best we can say about Reina is that he was (and probably still is) a lot better than what we have now. As for Suso - he left because Coutinho came and is only now showing his promise. I would have liked him to stay but I think that he wanted to go. My main point is that they are no longer with Liverpool and as they are not playing for in the Premier League what they are doing is irrelevant. Let's face it the top clubs in England all contain EX-players from other clubs. We have a good one ourselves - Mo Salah.

04 Nov 2017 08:59:33
Reina wasn't even let go KingKenny92. He'd love us all to believe it though.

He was flirting with Barcelona for a year and agitating for a move to the Nou Camp. His dad had been mouthing of to the press about it being his dream move and talking to Barcelona. Barcelona were pretty much nailed on the sign him to replace Victor Valdes.

It got to the summer and Liverpool decided to be pro-active for a change and sign Reina's replacement before his transfer went through. Then, Victor Valdes back tracked on leaving for a season and Reina's move fell through.

The problem was he had made it so clear he didn't want to play for Liverpool, that the club had moved on (and rightly so), and Mignolet had been promised he was first choice. Reina had become disruptive and disrespectful.

Reina was therefore stuck in limbo, until Liverpool sent him off on loan. Whilst on loan, he suddenly started coming out to the press about how Liverpool had pushed him out, how he'd effectively been replaced behind his back, and how he was the victim in the situation.

Long story short, Reina forced his way out and then blamed Liverpool publically. He was no better than Mascherano or Suarez in the way he left. The club never replaced him due to his performances (which were admittedly to a slightly lesser standard than the bar he'd set in his first 5 seasons) or his salary which was easily justified. He was just being a bit of a **** to be honest.

04 Nov 2017 09:26:56
Great post mk. Spot on about reina. Some fans are blinkered when it comes to ex players but the truth is the truth. 👏 👏.

04 Nov 2017 09:49:34
really good post adam.

04 Nov 2017 09:56:11
None of these players apart from Reina will make their world cup squad, the manager is testing new players in case of injuries etc.

04 Nov 2017 10:01:48
I don't even think it is people being blinkered Lukeo. The truth just isn't reported. I only know that because i have been reading this site for 8 years.

All the major media outlets just couldn't be bothered to do some actual journalism and find out the truth so they just put 2 and 2 together and got 549.

04 Nov 2017 10:09:03
Spot on MK - the media are lazy and always get it wrong which is why I don't read that nonsense now, thanks to this site.

04 Nov 2017 11:25:12
Spot on, MK. Many esp. in the media, think like them, we all have short memories. WE DON'T. Reina was shamelessly courting Barcelona in the public sphere while trashing LFC at the same time, saying how disappointed he was that we were no longer competing for trophies anymore YET saying that he would be happy to finish his contract with us. Yeah, what complete nonsense trying to have it all 30 diff. ways.

His conduct was disgraceful esp. in a period where he was doing a "Migs" the whole time. The guy destroyed his own credibility and BR was right to boot him out of the club and I'm glad he's no longer here cos he had become a crap GK and embarrassed the club in public, blaming BR for pushing him out on loan to Napoli.

Whereas he was the one along with his father, mouthing off to the media that he wanted to leave us for Barca. Sorry, we should NEVER allow people to airbrush history in a bid to make them selves look good.

{Ed025's Note - i agree loris..
