Players that defo won't be coming to lfc:
hazard-prefers arsenal plus champs league
pastore-over priced to much competition for him
neymar-just a no go no interest shown
ganso-same as neymar
sanchez-same as pastore plus may lack physicality
ronaldo-just a no no
alonso-would love to see him back but won't be

linked players who we don't want:
young-wants to much money so no pride
adam-rubbish
enrique-not lfc standard
cahill-new carragher as in hoofer
taarbat-lacks attitude like pacheco
benzema-scores but lazy no team player

linked players who will be great additions:
downing
sissoko
cissohko
m'vila
payet
matuidi
baines
cavani
marveaux
sahko
dzsudzsak
toivonen
muniain
llorente
lukaku
turan
richards

all under 26 so sell on value.cb, lb, lw, cm, rw, st from that would be great i personally would want
cissohko or baines for lb
sahko for cb
marveaux and dzsudzak for lw
payet for rw
sissoko or m'vila for cm/ cdm
muiain or lukaku for st
if we can't get them the others would be great aswell but those as first choices

Ed002 "It seems likely that the issue of the relationship between Dalglish and Comolli would be something that would need to be resolved. This is not a new issue and I suspect that Comolli is seeking the level of control that it had at St-Etienne - and I have previously explained what happened there."

This was always one of my concerns with Commoli. Ed002 Do you know what Commoli's job remit regarding transfers was when his job was revised as Director of Football? My understanding, as previously explained by Ed001, was that transfers are done on a committee basis so to speak with recommendations to the board etc. Are we seeing a return to situation we had with Rafa, with one person ultimately trying to control all transfers?

Thanks in advance.

Ben Richards {Ed001's Note - DC had full control at St Etienne, it caused a lot of problems, similar to the recent ones at Madrid between Jose and the board.}

Didn't Martin Jol claim something similar happened on more than one occasion when Comolli was in a similar position at Spurs?

{Ed002's Note - There have been issues over the years and the St-Etienne situation was the most extreme. Liverpool have owners who are trying to build structure and responsibility in to the process. It is the participants that may have issues that need to be resolved.}

Then Kenny should have the final say on players. Not just because it's Kenny because i believe that every manager at every club, should have the final say on players/targets (except Hodgson of course).

Mourinho must've knew this was different at Real Ed before he took the job. That he wasn't going to pick the players, Valdano and Perez do. Unless he was promised full control? Then i can't see why Mourinho let himself be in this position now and fighting for control, before he even took the job.

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - he knew the situation, but he simply didn't see eye to eye with anyone about it. It is ok having input, but not if that input is just completely ignored.}

I just hope that this doesn't turn into a power struggle that undermines the positive work that is being done. When Commoli has been interviewed it paints a harmonious picture of working together. . something (perhaps the problems left behind at the likes of St. Etienne. .) just doesn't fit. Hopefully it all comes together for the greater good of our club which is certainly Kenny's priority and I believe FSG's too. .

Ben Richards {Ed001's Note - personally I believe DC will come to realise that he is not in a position of strength right now. On the one side it is the people who hold the purse strings, on the other it is the man who holds the heartstrings. If he wants to stay here a long time he will have to learn to compromise or it will not work out well for him.}

"{Ed002's Note - I think Sakho, M'Vila, Sissoko, Payet and a young mobile striker such as Edinson Cavani. .}"

So no left back, then?

{Ed002's Note - You need to look at the original question to see it in context. Sakho can also provide cover at left back in the unlikely event of Aurelio being injured.}

I wish iam not saying the truth, but I guess that Sir KK and Comolli are facing alot of problems with each others, there are many obstacles especially on the targets who wanna sign in the summer, both have different targets, and I hope they'll have great results and choices, but if there is no solution and I hope I am wrong, I preffer our new Sir KK over Commoli even if the french man is from the greatest, but our coach is the heart of the club.

04 May 2011 23:00:49
OUTS:

Degen, Soto, Insua, Koncheskey, Poulsen, Plessis, Jova, El Zhar, Aquilani, Cole and Ngog.

Is it possible DC was there looking at Ralf Ranick? Hope not!

I hope not either, he's an ugly so and so, should be setting his sights higher than that! Maybe he was scouting Guardiola, if you know what I mean!

Hey Eds. Its no secret that a left-back and wingers will be coming in this summer but how many wingers you think will actually be bought in and do you think they'll be foreign, british or both? Appreciate it if you could reply. Cheers Eds

{Ed002's Note - Two foreign or one of each.}
Marveuax & Young (possible; Payet, Dzsudzsak, Gervinho)

If Graham Hunter or Balague did say about us getting a Spanish LB. Then i wouldn't mind us going for Athletic Bilbao's kid (can't remeber his name). Watched this kid a couple of times this season and he's looked very good. He's already being lined up for a regular spot at LB for Spain as a possible replacement for Capdevilla. To be honest Capdevilla isn't the best LB in the world, that's too kind he's crap.

I can't remember his name, Ed's or anyone do you know who i'm talking about? Bilbao are looking big bucks for him because they rate him so highly. And apparentlly Real Madrid are sniffing around too.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Is it Aranaburu your on about blair?

Ive like the look of Jose Angel myself, only seen him play a couple of times though.

Stu. {Ed001's Note - I was going to suggest Jose Angel as the best left back I have seen in the Spanish League, he is lightning too.}

I think his name is aurtenexte is it Blair and if it u agree I think he is quite good

04 May 2011 22:56:47
Question for macca? Who are our main targets for the first team, and will Raheem Sterling be in the first team squad next season.

04 May 2011 22:50:43
Why was comolli at the scum game tonight who cud he possibly be watching only player I'd take of Schalke is raul. And I'm sure we were not looking at any scum players

Papodopolous (sp) or Howedes. The Greek chap is being tracked by a host of EPL clubs, he's highly rated across Europe.

MacIntosh

Wouldnt have been too impressed with any Schalke defenders tonight then.

04 May 2011 22:52:15
I would personally like too have Riise back, proven prem left back, and still very content in his position. Also i would keep maxi i think his work rate is great, and when he plays hes one of our best performers hes always in a great position on goal. Next year when wingers come in he'll be a good substitute too slow the game down when we are comfortable, don't know if people agree but its my opinion.
Cart YNWA

I completely agree mate. Maxi is the type of player who likes to pass move pass move. The way Benitez and Hodgson managed didn't really allow him to play his natural game. When he plays for Argentina he's great. Whether any of the Eds' agree i wouldn't know. {Ed001's Note - he has got plenty of ability, I just don't think he is best used as a wideman, if we had better wingers he could make a very good playmaker like he does for Argentina.}

We seem to have so many players that are best when played as an AM behind a frontman. Suarez, Maxi, Pacheco, Suso, Cole. We def need 3 wingers to be bought.

04 May 2011 22:43:23
Macca anything on transfers alot of people are saying mata anything on him and benzema mate

No idea on Mata, would be great in my opinion. Benzema is still very high on the list of targets, it was very nearly done in Jan but circumstances changed.

Macca

Cheers mate i to think mata would be great, along with benzema. but i am not keen on charlie adam would rather have sissoko or mvila

I have been told that Enrique is very close, can't say done just yet as things can change. Also the same with Young.

Macca

Sound Macca mate so that's lb sorted and 1 winger.Now what we have left is 1 x cb, 1 x mc, 1 x st, 2 x wingers. Would I be too wrong with this? How is Adam deal has anything changed?

Liverpool to sign: Sakho, Wendt, M'Vila, Marveaux, Payet and Dzsudzsak.

Team to be

- - - - - - - - - - - - - Reina- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Kelly- - -SAKHO- - - - - - - - - -Agger- - - Johnson
- - - - - - - - - - - - -M'VILA- - - - - - - - - - - - -
PAYET- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - DZSUDZSAK
- - - - - - - - - - - - -Gerrard- - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Suarez- - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - Carroll- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Squad members to choose subs from: Gulasci, Flanagan, Carragher, Wilson, Ayala, Wendt, Robinson, Amoo, Sterling, Coady, Spearing, Meireles, Suso, Shelvey, MARVEAUX, Kuyt, Eccleston

Of course we could go for a better option on left back, but with Johnson able to play there and Sakho could fill in then needed, I think we could go for Wendt. He's for free, so why not.

You may argue that we need a CM and another striker, but I don't think that it's necessary. But my choice for this two spots would be Sissoko from Toulouse and Gervinho from Lille.

I have tried to make make my list of players I think would get the job done and at the same time realistic transfer targets.

The players I think must go are B.Jones, Degen, Kyrgiakos, Skrtel (mostly because of offers from january to finance buys), Konchesky, Aurelio, Poulsen, Cole, Aquilani, Maxi, Jovanovic and Ngog. Some of these may be free, i'm not quite sure about that. Youngsters that are not among the players mentioned may play for the reserves, play for youth team or be on loan. I know that we may have to let Insua leave for good, but if that's the case I suspect we'll get nothing for him.

Missed Meireles last time, but now he's in amongst the players just outside the starting 11.

LFC for life

More likely to be
- - - - - - - - - - - - - Reina- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Johnson- - -Kelly- - - - - - - - - -Agger- - - Sakho
- - - - - - - - - - - - -M'VILA- - - - - - - - - - - - -
PAYET- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - DZSUDZSAK
- - - - - - - - - - - - -Gerrard- - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Suarez- - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - Carroll- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Er where Is Lucas?

Square tomato

Getting quite emabarrassing this, of course Lucas should be there also. As I see M´Vila as the best alternative, Lucas should be first alternative for him. All I can say as my defence is that it´s not the best time to write this kind of lists late in the evenings or at night.

LFC for life

More likely this:
- - - - - - - - - -Reina- - - - - - - - -
Johnson- - Kelly- - -Skrtel- - -Enrique- -
- - - -Lucas/merieles- - Mvilla- - - - - -
- - - - - - - - Gerrard- - - - - - - - - -
- -Hulk- - - - - - - - - - - - Suarez- -
- - - - - - - - Carroll- - - - - - - - - -

04 May 2011 22:30:24
Didnt Alain Perrin (St Et manager) at the time of commoli complain to the chairman of the team (cant remember his name), that he never even seen some of the players he was "given" by commoli, and commoli had the last word on all transfers during his first season at the club.

Rednapp also had a few choice words on commoli's time at Spurs.

Wenger aslo had a few words stating that he was only a scout at arsenal.

Neither of his former employees have a good word to say about him and i do wonder who filled in his cv for the job at lfc.

So i would not be surprised in unconfirmed reports of friction between KK and him.
Jim22 {Ed002's Note - Yep. All correct - I did warn you at the time.}

Read that John Arne riise will enter the last year of his roma contract soon and won't rule out returning to the prem or anfield
Personally I would love him to return he is one of the best deadball strikers I have seen and he would fill the void at left back wonderfully I know that he is 30 and may be considered older but he is still a cracking player. He lit up the anfield turf and could do it again.
Anyone else feel the same??

Totally agree, I would love to see Riise back at Anfield. Why we ever sold him I'll never know, was a massive mistake - he was never truly replaced. We were hit and miss with Dossena, Konchesky, Aurelio (due to injury), Insua. However, there is faith in Robinson, but being understudy to Riise would do him a world of good - what a player to be learning from, in my opinion, our of our best LB's ever. Obviously not THE best as many names come to mind, but certainly the best we have had in the past 10 years.

Riise left for two reasons - Benitez decided to get rid firstly following his 'golf club' altercation with Bellamy, even though he was the nominal victim of the incident and secondly, the final straw was his injury time own goal in the Champions League game versus Chelsea.

It would be perferct or all 4 parties. aqua would like to go back to roma and they would like to get something good out of risse leaving(their prince back), we would get a left back and aqua gone also risse would be back where he had his best years.

Is it possible DC was there looking at Ralf Ranick? Hope not!

04 May 2011 21:42:27
Had a look through the starting 11 for Schalke tonight, these are the ones whom Comolli is most likely to be scouting.

Howedes (23) Centre Half
Farfan (26) Winger

The others are either too old, not in positions we require, have just started to feature in the first team or have only just joined (Last summer).

The A man

Farfan not good enough

corkpoolred

None of the Schalke team are any good imo Corkpoolred mate. Let's hope Comolli was there to taste the Mancs new prawn sandwiches. And not scouting any Schalke players, they are all crap.

Darren Gibson is better than any of the Schalke players Ed and we both know how rubbish he is mate.

DaveyBootle

Has he accepted a invite to your sweet 16?

04 May 2011 21:46:50
{Ed002's Note - Yeah, these things are tough. A number of the players did not get a break because of the world cup last year and there will be some not getting a break this summer.}

Do you think this could be why Daglish wants to sign a quality striker? So it can give Suarez and Carroll a break every so often.

Ed what are your thoughts on Carroll going to the under 21's championship this summer? It could be a bad thing with Suarez going to the Copa America and Carroll going to the under 21's that they could suffer burnout towards the end of the season or get injured.

{Ed002's Note - Yeah, these things are tough. A number of the players did not get a break because of the world cup last year and there will be some not getting a break this summer.}

Well if we were out of the market for a striker, why would we have a representative at the game watching Osvaldo? Not doubting you mate as its from Revista it just does not add up, unless we're watching someone else!

From what I can gather from reading the site and other bits and bobs would it be correct to assume we have strong interest in Lukaku, Sisshoko and Sakho and Enrique seems likely to be our left back for next season? LB, CB, CM, ST, and if the wingers he talked about are meant for us, happy days!

Great job all top site

To the poster who implied we would sign Spanish players to appease Pepe, I think that's way off the mark. If a player is demanding that the club sign his countrymen to please him then they should be shipped out. I also think that some of our signings will be out of the blue. No one truly anticipated the Carroll or Meireles arrivals. If Comolli is at the Man Utd game, he'll most likely be watching Farfan or, if he's playing, Howedes. Good young defender. Don't really have any fresh rumours, but see no sense in regurgitating much of what is already on here. Good work eds, keep it up.

Rush

Just thought i'd mention it, seeing that Reina himself said he didn't want to see all Spaniards leave LFC. Not saying at all he's demanded it. It's a consideration for off field harmony that's all. You've gotta think of everything to make a truly world class player stay, especially when he's been let down badly by the club over the last 3 years.

Gerrard, Meireles, Lucas, Spearing that's four CM. five if you count coady but I doubt he'll get used execpt for europa. So how may CM would you recommend Ed? because I think our CM is strong but our Wings are weak and theres not been a game where we've not had two CM available. {Ed001's Note - it is about getting a different type of CM in, one with real aggression and range of passing. Gerrard only plays half a season these days, Meireles is so lightweight it is scary, so it only really leaves Lucas and Jay as the main CMs.}

I completely agree Ed. Gerrard can potentially be that man but if he can't get fit we need an altenative with drive and power.

That's a reason why I don't think we need Aquilani back (not that he wants to come back) as he's similar in terms of strength and tackling ability as Raul M, perhaps with more passing range but less goals. So yeah Sissoko or someone similar gets my vote.

Papa G

Completely disagree with your comment on Miereles I have to say Ed. Personally I think he is a quality midfielder who next season should start in the centre of midfield week in week out. Lucas still not good enough. And although I didn't expect it to happen Spearing has come on leaps and bounds and could be a very useful player next season.
However I'd start with gerrard and miereles with gerrard playing a deeper role now hes getting on a bit.

Fair comments but I do feel that Meireles will be more physical in time don't forget he came from Portugal which isn't that physical - Mc

I thought Meireles was a beast before he joined and he has got stronger as the seasons gone on. I think he's awesome but is great in a three man midfield with complete freedom to arrived late into the box.

Gerrard and Raul will never work, both are wonderful players but neither has the ability to hold their position as it's not their game. Now despite you criticising Lucas he does a wonderful job and when he get voted player of the season you'll soon see your in the minority.

I have never cared for Chrissy Ronaldo, but found this quote absolutely hilarious:

'Javier Mascherano wasn't like this at Liverpool, ' said the former Manchester United man.

'He must have learned all these cheating tricks at Barcelona.'

Mascherano was involved in a second-half challenge with Lassana Diarra, where the make-shift centre back appeared to look at the referee before writhing around in agony on the floor.

Diarra was booked, and Mascherano played on as normal.

UEFA have to be the biggest bunch blow hards I have ever seen. They allow Barca to play act, dive & intimidate the ref all day long. Imagine if LFC did this; Platini & his posse of clowns would be telling the world how England are the land of cheaters, they should be banned from European competition, & most likely make them forfeit the match. Barca & UEFA arrogance is at an all time high & something needs to be done.

Got to be honest i think Guilierme ballague (sp) is talking nonsense, We arnt managed by Rafa anymore, How would he know what KK (Mr behind closed doors) will be looking at for transfers.

GB is known for shooting his mouth off, So why would anyone tell him anything. Also like i said we aint managed by Rafa anymore, I doubt KK will be looking at so many spanish players, I mean they are as expensive as English players now that they are World champions

UCCM

Clubs tell him who are interested in their players; likewise with agents as he promotes them in a way like Osvaldo; Enrique has an also Spanish Agent; understand now?

Trust him mate he knows lots; Xabi, Pepe Arbeloa know him.

The Next ;)

Revista de la liga is on ss1 at 9 o'clock

Ballague has a personal interest and has his fingers in many pies. It isn't beyond the boundaries to suggest he has wind of who we have been tapping up. Out of curiosity i wonder if the perceived signing of Enrique is to placate Reina in some way?

Juan Mata would be an absolute steal and real sign of intent. However I think we need to be slightly cautious of everything Guillem says, at times his mouth runs away with him whenever the sign says "On Air"

Bob the Red.

I suppose that is the case but I like to believe. Is that so much to ask???

I also think we would be after a striker as well, because we have no real cover, and are not really able to play different options, and I am sure Kenny will want to start playing the ball around and not just hoof the ball up to the strikers. And I don`t really think anyone knows who we are going to pursue other than KK, DC and FSG. Ross

Ross, it's important not to confuse playing the ball to Carroll by-passing the midfield as a hoof. At times this is the best way to play, ping it in to him, for the lay off and second phase. Often confused as the old fashioned hoof when in fact it isn't. Having Carroll in the team will actually help Carra enormously. It gives him the perfect out ball, where previously he's just looked to clear his lines because ol' lazy arse up front couldn't be lathered to make himself available to receive.

Gary Cahill does a very good impression of the hoof. Used to be called good defending back in the day. . :)

Bob the Red

I agree with you Bob, we need people who can also take players on and put good crosses into the box for Carroll and Suarez. This is something the team has lacked for years. We have been so one dimensional for years and this needs to change as we have only ever been able to play one style of football, and becomes very predictable. Ross

I think Nikola Saric should be given a few games, he's 20 lets see what hes made of. he hasn't even played in the warm up games at the start of the season. good left boot, fast, he's around 6ft not 5'6 like pacheco so there cnt be complants about his physical development other than he hasn't played for the first team; the only problem with him is he tends to be selfish but hes good in my opinion. quick turns, good ball control, skillful, hangs on to the ball well, good passer and inventive

Youtube: Nikola Saric /Video klip

I agree that Saric is a decent player, but his development has been severely hampered by injury. He has certainly shown some positive signs in the last few games in which he has played. Sadly, I suspect that it may have come too late for him to establish a long term career at Liverpool. The stark truth is that he will be 21 next January and I understand that his current contract runs out this Summer. If he is to be offered a new contract, then the manager and coaching staff need to be convinced that he will be capable of holding down a place in the 25 man first team squad beyond the age of 21. If not, and I fear that opportunities to stake a claim are unlikely to materialise, he will be advised to seek a new club in the near future. If it is the case that he still has another year to run on his contract he may still have a limited chance to make the breakthrough, but the club may also try to cash in whilst he retains some value in the transfer market. This same dilemma will face the Reds [as well as all other clubs] in respect of every talented young player as they approach or pass their 21st birthdays. If they can't command a place in the 25 man squad, they become little more than a drain on club resources and will almost certainly be moved on. For their sakes, hopefully this is to another club, rather than the football scrap heap. A particularly ironic outcome, considering the 25 man squad limit was introduced to encourage the development of young talent.

The Shoe Shine Boy

Yeah true but he could go out on a season loan, i would do that to see what he can do at a more competitive level or us him in a deal for griezmann or muniain

Any fan that wants charlie adam at liverpool is just listening to the early hype over him and not actually watching his displays.
HE WILL NOT IMPROVE OUR SQUAD!

Tottaly agree! there are far better players out there than charlie adam, he's had a poor second half of the season and was just playing way over his actual quality before hand, he is a poor mans xabi alonso!

Completely agree is he at decent player in a below average team, This makes him look better than he really is . Targets should be Banega, Xavi Martinez, Stefan Defour

Javi Martinez???

Sorry to be a n*b but I assume he is the one you mean?

Agree
It's funny how were being linked with a lot of mediocre players (Adam, jarvis, downing)etc.
We have money now and I'm sure FSG know you get what you pay for.
We need players that can help us challenge for the title.
I think there is going to be some good surprises in the summer.

LAVERS

You'll all proved to be wrong then won't you? Think of it like this, everyone is saying he looks a good player in a poor team, but would he look a better player with better players around him?

You'll all have to wait because it's nailed on.

Sorry boo boys.

DaveyBootle.

It is not nailed on, and he is a championship player at best. Just because we tried for him in January doesn't mean we will go after him again.

Plus Spearing is a much better and cheaper alternative for a CM squad player.

04 May 2011 19:46:31
In my opinion our signings this summer if possible should be Gary Cahill, Jose Enrique, Xabi Alonso, Gareth Bale and Adam Johnson. With the first team line up being:

Reina
Kelly Carragher Cahill Enrique
A.Johnson Alonso Gerrard Bale
Suarez Carroll

I also believe John Flanagan and Jack Robinson should be heavily involved next season and that Glen Johnson shoud be used more as a winger due to his defensive incapabilities. It looks likely Sylvain Marveaux will be signing as well, and i expect him to be used as more of a squad player other than first team regular.

No to Bale - overrated & injury prone

No to Enrique - did you watch the match last weekend? Or any Newcastle matched? He is atrocious.

Yes to A Johnson, but on the left hand side

G Johnson has improved since the King took over and can play on the left until Robinson is ready.

And sadly, Alonso will not return. We need to move forward (even though I still miss him tremendously).

It is best if we have players that can play in multiple positions; Kuyt, Suarez, Gerrard, Kelly, G Johnson, etc. . It allows us to change formations on the fly without changing personnel. So I would not be suprised to see players purchased that fit the FSG policy as well as this one.

Ed , even though balague has said that we will buy a left back, centre back , 2 wingers and a centre mid , i still believe we will buy a forward/ striker as ngog and jova will leave the club and also joe cole . they are the positions kenny is looking to fill not replace due to out going players . expect another 2 maybe 3 players added to that list . Anytime i've watched newcastle this season (6or7) not once have been impressed by enrique but according to phil thompson and graham hunter its a done deal, 9 millionish.
i would like our 2 wingers to be A johnson and D payet
centre mid - sissoko
centre back- phil jones

After seeing the champions league game last night it makes me wonder if they should just have barca automatically in the final, then the best of the rest can play them. it was simply embarrassing to watch the likes of busquets, messi and mascherano to name a few rolling around on the floor. if that's what it takes to win that competition then uefa can keep it for themselves.

anyway back to liverpool lol, it has been encouraging to see over the past few game we have scored so many goals without even coming close to the type of performance that was produced against man city. i think if we mange to finish in fifth place it will be a huge achievement this season.

Ed's has any of you any idea what's going on with King Kenny's Contract are they discussing it yet and is there any truth in that report about Kenny wanting full control of transfers and that Commoli wants to have it? thanks ed {Ed002's Note - We know: (a) Damien Comolli's job includes finding a new manager; (b) that the job is probably there for the taking by Kenny Dalglish if he wants it and if a deal can be agreed; (c) that talks have taken place between the board and Dalglish; (d) that he is already contracted to the end of the season and he is not going to walk out; and (e) he is concentrating on getting the right results on the field rather than distracting himself and others with contract negotiations.

It seems likely that the issue of the relationship between Dalglish and Comolli would be something that would need to be resolved. This is not a new issue and I suspect that Comolli is seeking the level of control that it had at St-Etienne - and I have previously explained what happened there.}

Hi Ed just read on a rumour site that man utd are gonna put a £27million bid in for Sanchez to get one over on man city if this is true do you think Liverpool would bid £30 million on him as he would give us the depth we need ??? Also are UTD gonna make the bid??? {Ed002's Note - It is all speculation and the player will not be moving to Liverpool.}

No one that's any good will join Liverpool according to Ed209 lol. We have to settle for the likes of young/adam/enrique etc.

I wonder if Udinese will even sell him this off season. From what I have read & heard (some of it here) they are not the easiest club to deal with. I want players who want to come to this club to play, if he isn't interested then we move on. If you look through the multitude of posts asking about players you might see where ed001 or ed002 have claimed we approached certain players only for said player tell us he is not interested. I do not want a Tevez or Mascherano in our squad, ever. Why would we bid for someone that does not want to play for Kenny or our club. It would seem that this is as simple as 1+1=2. But what do I know, I have only have a phd in being super bad ass, a masters in business & a BA in construction management.

Ed's are not getting us too excited because targets change so quickly this early on. Also if they said that we stand a chance, people would moan when they don't happen.
30mil for a player who hasn't proven himself at PL level yet is a huge risk. If anyone we should go for Hazard while the top club fight for Sanchez.

The poster is right though that any good player like sanchez it is always said he won't come to liverpool. Well suarez and carrol did and none of the eds thought we would sign them

Actually Carrol signed very late on Deadline day as of the other guy, Suarez was rumoured the whole window however it seemed by deadline day interest had fallen. Don't compare Sanchez who has just about every club in Europe chasing him to Carroll who had us as the only team willing to pay the extortionate price; ala spanish guy.

The Next ;)

To the Next ;) all he's stating is that all Big named players get a definate "NOT COMING TO LIVERPOOL" from the Ed's so with all the definate no's coming our way we still got suarez WHO WAS A DEFINATE NO so for all you know sanchez may be interested in LFC he may be a big fan of us or Kenny you never can tell

{Ed002's Note - Sanchez declared himself a follower of Manchester United - but that would never impact where a player moves to. Isn't a Liverpool player a fan of Everton?

I will try and explain what I know to be correct and what is “rumoured” about Alexis Sanchez. We know that Chelsea and Inter Milan have made unsuccessful bids, and we know that Manchester United and Barcelona have a declared interest. Juventus had previously been interested but were hoping that (a) Sanchez stayed under the radar until a deal could be struck, and (b) Udinese would look kindly on an arrangement that included some cash and several players either in exchange, on loan or in part-ownership as part of the deal. As an aside Juventus have proposed a similar deal for Javier Pastore. Anyway, there was a January meeting with Chelsea in Monaco and broad agreement was reached over the transfer before Giampaolo Pozzo said that the deal must include a loan of the player back to Udinese. Whilst Barcelona were apparently willing to agree to this until the end of the season, Pozzo proposed that whoever Sanchez moved to should allow him to be loaned back for 18 months – hence the end of any discussions. I expect that Juventus will not come back in to the picture. Although Sanchez has been watched by numerous teams including Roma, there is nothing new other than Manchester City preparing a bid for the player as well. They have, like Juventus, recently been knocked back in a bid for Pastore and are likely to aim their cheque book in another direction – this may well be Sanchez. The advantage they have, in addition to being able to match any transfer fee, is the ability to put together a wage deal far beyond anything the other clubs could afford or would be willing to pay. I suspect that we will see this whole saga drag out through the summer transfer window as Pozzo puts the player on the market, takes him off the market, values him at €100M and so on. Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Inter will all likely remain interested but could well tire of the expected drawn-out negotiations. Manchester United and Chelsea were both originally wary of the player being not quite as robust as needs be for the EPL. Perhaps Inter will get their man or perhaps Sanchez will take an offer from Manchester City.

As for Pastore, he may well be moving this summer - it seems to be on/off week-by-week. Palermo is a difficult club to deal with (to say the least) and money is not something they are short of. They crave success and I would not be surprised to see him stay another season. Juventus have been knocked back with their standard offer of €20m in cash plus Raffaelle Palladino, Amauri and Sebastian Giovinco in exchange, on loan or in part-ownership as part of the deal. Chelsea are looking for a long-term replacement for Lampard and Manchester United are looking for a long-term replacement for Scholes. He is certainly not top of Chelsea's transfer list but they will keep a watching brief. The rejected bid that was publicised was certainly from Manchester City. Liverpool had shown an interest before Christmas but will struggle to accept the price - which if he is sold is likely to be the highest of the summer. The fee will be in the region of £50M or a part ownership deal may well be negotiated.

As for Neymar, there has been since last summer solid interest from Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan. He remains the main target for Chelsea and after the Under 20 championships it became clear that the issue surrounds whether the player wants to move this summer or not. Santos will not stand in his way but he is being advised to stay on in Brazil for another year.}

I have no reason to not believe any of the above. I have always thought that links with these players are Xbox 360 football manager type signings.The way Henry and Comolli are trying to take us forward is the right way. I would be more than happy with Mvilla and Sissokho.type signings Rolando and muniain would be nice.These players are all well sought after players, but Comolli as said the profile of the player must fit into the plans of the Manager.We won't go out and pay 50 million on one player Pastore, when we could buy three of the four above for that.

This is theturdz speaking to the EDITOR
i posted a while back that robbie fowler will be back to work at the academy with the kids and was slated i can now reafirm that he will be joining the set up as from next season also the joey barton situation is almost done expect an annoucement at the end of season when all will become clear

Can you not make it clear now? Barton is not good enough for LFC & he is a bitter & he is a despicable human being. Some how I do not see him fitting in with the FSG policy.

During the January transfer window, and for a month or so afterwards, i felt like we were being linked with every player who had a good game that came from britain. Javis, Young, Cahill, Adams, etc etc

i think this was initially to try and boost up the number of British players we had, as KK, DC and FSG may have been concerned how many home grown players we had, and the numbers we needed in order to fill the quota.

However since then we now have Robinson, Flannagan, Wilson, Kelly, Spearing, Shelvey in addition to Carra, Gerrard and Caroll. Thats full back four of good quality youth players comming through. With this in mind, the number of british players being linked with us has dropped people may have noticed.
Instead a number of players from the continent that we had hopped to get are starting to be linked.

There are some weaknesses in the squad as we all know, but the squad depth can be bolstered by the Youth ranks filtering through, and we chould look at good quality players.

Sissoko and M'Vila are both good quality, young players that would do well at anfield, and look likely to arrive. With DC's french connections, they would both be ablt to fill the ball winning role, and box-to-box midfileder role similar to Patrick Vieria of old. we are being linked with Pastore, but unless DC is getting prommising feedback of a reasonable price, (20-25m??) i very much doubt this will happen. Nor do i expect him to move to anybody else however. .in the future when he does move on, the fact we have been interested for a long period may help.

On the wings, again DC's french connection have helped with Marveaux, and this could be potentially a promising lad for the future with the right guidance. DC is also attempting to sway Hazard. Hazard initally wanted Arsenal, but don't be surprised if this has waned after witnessing their season implode, with Fabragas and Nasri wanting to leave. Mata may be on his way in, as KK and FSG won't want everyone to know their potential dealings to keep away any inflated prices when MAN City and Spurs follows us to every transfer to complicate matters.

Sakho is again looking likley to arrive, as Arsenal are reluctant to spend any money. potentially one other centre back may arrive as a back up centre back, with, hopefully, Soto on the way out.

I can envisage the upfront problem being solved only if it is financially viable. With Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt upfront there is not urgent need to spend over the odds, but if Lakuku (spelling, apologies) is vauled fairly there will be a push for him along with bojan. Another young striker, to develop and play amongst the players we have would be good but i doubt very highly we will be buying another high profile striker this summer.

Left has been an issue for a while, but Johnson doing well, and Robinson coming through KK has bought himself some time and again sees this less urgently as he initally did. Sakho offers the bonus of being able to play left back or right back, so a seasoned player with experience is most likley to occupy the role in future. This would be rotated in order to give the youngsters the chance, and having aan experienced player to give the role solidarity if needs be. Clichy would fit the role perfectly, and with a reduced fee thanks to his contract running down would free up more funds for the high profile signings.
Formation wise would be hard to pin point as everyone has witnessed how KK likes to change depending. But this squad would offer flexibility and dependability to the team and a good squad for years to come to build upon.

None of this is fact but just a considered opinion after reading and thinking about the situation at length. Your opions on this would be valued Ed's, if i am thinking along the right lines, and have highligted the correct players? What do you think?

Ed , brian durand (LFC TV contributor) has recently tweeted that he collared ian ayre in a lift earlier and asked him if he would tell him any names on the anfield transfer wish list. unsurprisingly he didn't tell but said this " i will say this you won't be disappointed ".

KK will be given the job on the 1st of July and in the same press confrence we will announce the signing of Sylvain Marveaux.

And these signing will be made in summer :
1. Cissokho 14million ( Lyon )
2. Jones 10million ( Blackburn )
3. Sakho 17million ( PSG )
4. Muniain 10million + Maxi ( Bilbao )
5. Hazzard 25million + Ngog ( lille ) / Hulk 20million ( Porto )
6. Matuidi 10million

Edd would like ur opinion on these players and chances of signing them ???? {Ed002's Note - I am sorry but I am not going to speculate at all. My opinion on these players is easily available.}

Hi Eds, just for my own interest really but which ed surpports which team? Thanks {Ed002's Note - ED001 supports Liverpool and Ed007 Celtic. I have a soft spot for Chelsea and the other Ed's are either Liverpool or Manchester United supporters. There was a Spurs Ed but he seems to have been MIA for a while.}

Ed, would you think City would sell to us? With us being there rival for a champ spot next year; if so how much would you expect him to cost? - Mc {Ed002's Note - As I said, I don't see why not. I guess he would cost about £12-15M but I don't even know if Liverpool are interested.}

04 May 2011 16:46:56
Hi Ed, just a quick question really. But who do you think will be the larger star Flano or Robinson? Personally i think Robinson has a greater future for Liverpool on the left. What do you think? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know how to quantify "star".}

"Star" He shines bright in the sky

Robinson = Future England Left Back

Flanagan = Behind Kelly or Johnson and Richards.

My honest opineon, Kelly is a CB so he'll prob play there in future seasons

Kelly has to stay as a right back imo, He is fast and can cross the ball so would be a real waste to put him in the centre of defence and lose that. Ross

04 May 2011 16:26:30
Ed, apart from marveux, who would you expect lfc to sign in the summer? {Ed002's Note - It is only possible to speculate by position - not name. There is interest in plaenty of players but a fair distance to go before anything is firm.}

Ed what about Rolando. I know that you have said previously that we have had porto watched but is he and Mahamadou sakho the likely cb targets for us this summer??/. .thanks. hugo. {Ed002's Note - Both have certainly attracted the clubs attention.}

What about sociedads Antoine Griezmann? {Ed002's Note - He has been mentioned before and Lyon has shown an interest. Reports are circulating of interest from Barcelona as well.}

Dalglish leaving in summer as he ain't gettin finianicial backin

in:

mike jones (bury)

out:

basically at this rate unless this situation improves, it aint lookin good next season lads :/

Along with all these signings we will re-sign traore (jim bob) and a double team of wobbly chin woy and steve mcclarren will be manager

You forgot to add Carroll to your list of players leaving, and Hicks & Gillette will be buying us again. Ross

04 May 2011 16:35:17
{Ed001's Note - all I know is that I got a text off an ex-team mate of his telling me he had had enough of Mancini and that this would be the last season he would play for him.}

assuming Mancini won't be sacked quite yet if they make top four, do you believe Johnson to be a viable target now? There is almost no winger I would like more.
Isaac

Johnson is over-rated, hence why he can't get a game at City.

Johnson is a quality player, he has proved this many times this season, just does not get enough game time to prove it, I would happily have him at LFC Ross

So every player that can't get into a first team is over-rated? I'd have taken Van Der Vaart when he played at Madrid and there are countless other examples. Just my opinion, but I think he is absolute class.

Ed I hav heard of an extremely promising 22 year old who plays for mallorca and has a wonder of a right foot I.e. Ed,
nice touch with the new buttons!
i was wondering if there is any news regarding our loaned players? specifically players such as (ayala , mavinga , insua, darby, eccelston) ?
and what about conor thomas? is he deemed good enough 4 us after this period?
another thing is that i don't think we really need a left back in my opinion! we have glen who has been in sensational form on the left and we got robbo. so why spend money there while we have 2 quality players there. we could just bring back insua as 3rd choice cover in my opinion!
lastly. .are we after demba cisse?
thanx {Ed002's Note - I can't help about the youngsters and I am afraid interest in Cisse form Liverpool seems unlikely at this time.}

Considering the success of our youth program Lukaku (who will be 18 on May 18) would be the perfect signing & with Carroll being only 22, Liverpool should be set for 10 years {Ed002's Note - I am not sure how spending £60M on two players reflects the success of the Liverpool youth programme?}

I would like to give the ignorant, rude, abusive and ungrateful "fans" of this website a big clap; you are in denial about us buying players such as Pastore, Neymar and Sanchez. The ed's (Who are great on here everyday) answer your questions and no matter how abusive you are to them give an honest reply. In the past week I have seen "Out of 10 how likely are we to get So and So" about 3000 times; they reply with either an answer of accuracy, a sarcy comment or look below. Whenever I come on this site I read the whole page then ask questions or share some light, some of you just write stupid questions time and time again; Out of 10 this, Out of 10 that. READ PREVIOUS POSTS. And when they do reply with a 0 for those players mentioned above you throw your rattle out of the pram and cry; "You ed's know nothing" "you have no sources" My football manager said we signed him so we must have" yada yada yada. Now because of the abuse from insignificant figures like these people they have refused to share info or comment on these out of 10 queeries. Well Done Ed's; I'm am very happy you have taken a stand and I believe you shouldn't post stupid questions or people should leave a Name or E-Mail every time they post because it is ridiculous some of the comments they have to put up with; especially Ed002 who has provide us with all of their info over and over again; just to be told that they are wrong. SIMPLE SOLUTION. Don't ask if you don't want to be disappointed.

I think the new site set up, is much better. If you want an eds opinion you can ask for one.You can disagree with a post as long as you are not abusive. Cech peaked years ago though, he will never be the player he once was since that head injury.

Thanks forthe quick response ED001, it's all well and good Johnson not being happy at City, but do you think KK will make a serious attempt to sign him, and the other issue is do you think City will sell one of their best players to a rival? This may well develop into a very intruiging transfer saga! Thanks in advance.
KTG {Ed002's Note - To be honest I don't know if (a) Liverpool are that interested, or (b) if City would sell.}

04 May 2011 15:51:21
Ed, in an ideal world who would you like Liverpool to sign? You can be as optimistic as you want. Thanks

{Ed002's Note - I think Sakho, M'Vila, Sissoko, Payet and a young mobile striker such as Edinson Cavani would set the club up for years to come. I appreciate that there is not too much of an English mix in here. Maybe Adam Johnson instead of Payet would be a solution.}

I would also like to see that group of players arrive, as I also think they would put us on a good standing for the future.I don't think English players are necessary has we have plenty of young lads I think could make the step up in time.

To me that looks like a very realistic selection. When you add some of the youngster comeing through there will be a nice mix.

I think that Mancini will be giving at least another year mate. He has got them to the CL and FA Cup Final. So fingers crossed City do keep him and Adam Johnson fancies a change of scenery?

The problem with City imo with players is if players arn't happy and want to move to City's rivals. Then City are probably the only team that can afford to let big name stars with big egos rot in the reserves.

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - both Johnson and Milner, he did say and others but hasn't given me any names yet, are both unhappy. City did try and get Mourinho a month or two back but were rejected, so I think it will be Mancini that goes rather than the players, unfortunately.}

Even if Mancini wins the FA Cup Ed, you think he'll still go?

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed002's Note - I think there is a chance. They made an equiry about Mourinho so the club are thinking about a new manager.}

{Ed002's Note - I can't give an exact timeline but it takes a while to put a package together. Owners also tend not to be fickle enough to switch interest on and off depending on results.}

Is this the same Real Madrid who hired Capello then fired him because his "brand" of football was not up to their standard. Only to rehire him, he wins the league & they fire him again for the same reason. Then they hire Mourinho, complain about his style of football & his "larger than life" personality? Seems a tad fickle to me.

an american red {Ed002's Note - No that's not fickle.}

Fickle - Changing frequently, esp. as regards one's loyalties, interests, or affection.

What would you call it?

an american red

{Ed002's Note - If you take Chelsea and the owner as an example, Mourinho went by mutual consent; his replacement, Grant, filled the role until the end of the season; the full time replacement (Scolari) was sacked at the behest of someone else. That is not fickle at all. Since the owners went to Manchester City they have had fewer managers than Liverpool. Real Madrid consider the manager a temporary employee of the club - and the manager knows that when they move there. When Ancelotti arrives in Madrid he will know that he will not be there for 10 years. However, fickle is where fans of a club turn on players and spit their vitiolic hatred at them one week, and then praise them the next.}

An american red has a point though. Scolari at Chelsea is a great example. After a couple of months they were top of the league, then not long after when we knocked them off the perch and then United dropped them down to 3rd, he was sacked. Or was there another factor?

Stone YNWA. {Ed002's Note - He was sacked at the behest of someone other than the owner, the board or any direct employee of the club.}

Ed002 - I see your point & will agree with all but Madrid. And I wonder how many will get the jab at the "fickle fans". Thanks for the banter, keep up the good work.

Does anyone know what's happening with Thomas Ince? I remember not long ago reading that he was unhappy with his lot and was talking about leaving, but I never heard anything more than that.

News?

All i know is that:Liverpool have twice tryed to extend his contract, but Thomas has twice rejected

YNWA

Who cares, big head just like his father

It was reported that his father was not happy with the terms of the new contract Liverpool offered him and he wouldn't sign a new one. Liverpool then stopped him going back on loan to his dads team. I am only saying what I have read.I don't know how true it is.

He is trying to get a move to Ajax.

Macca

Yeah I used to use that as well but I switched to Domestos, I found it much better

Macca is there any chance of like a big signing this summer and who do you think it could be if you like had to say. like your life depended on it and someone had a gun to your head and was gonna shoot it? You know like your life was in danger and this was the only way you could get out alive?

Personally, I would let Thomas Ince go. I'm not sure about his attitude and he is a very greedy player. IMO Suso has gone a bit into his shell since Ince came back, as Ince is so greedy he wants to be first on every free kick and corner etc. Sterling will be coming through soon as a left sided option and he's light years ahead of Ince. {Ed001's Note - I would be glad to see the back of Ince myself, I think you have hit the nail on the head regarding him. It would also be good to keep his father as far away from the club as possible.}

Liverpool really should try get Iker Muniain as he is a similar age to Wilshere and a similar level

I too think Muniain would be a fantastic signing, but I can't see him leaving Spain.If he keeps improving He could go to any team in Europe.I am not saying we are not worthy, just that he his still a kid an he his getting regular football in his own country.I might be wrong

Hi ed, Do you think that Kenny will play Kuyt up front?

If that's the way then no need of signing another striker. Just buy three wingers. I do not like to play Kuyt on the wing, though he always gives 100% & score important goals, as a winger he really could not provide us with what wee desperately need especially as we now have Carroll. He is 31 but he can play until 35-36 ( he is less injury prone and have good stamina) and could be a great asset to the squad if we use him as a striker whether lone or with Suarez or with Carroll.

plz reply?

Kopguy
YNWA {Ed001's Note - the plan is that Kuyt plays as a striker and covers the wide positions.}

I competely agree mate kuyt always works his a**e off on the right side but him and suarez seem to just compliment each other playing up top so i would see buying wingers as more important and either play 3 up top in some games or rotate kuyt, suarez and carroll and maybe integrate a few youngsters in lesser games

Hi ed what are tyhe chances of us trying to get IKER MUNIAN as this kid looks quality

Summer ins

Marvaux-free
Douche-free
Baines-14m
Sakho-18m
M, Villa-16m
Payet-8m
Munian-12m

TOTAL 68m and they are all quality players and quite young

Summer outs

Maxi-4m
Cole-3m
Jovanovic-5m
Aqualani-14m
Agger-10m
soto-1m
Poulson-2m
Ngog-6m
Deadwood-12m

TOTAL 58m all are on massive wages or just not good enough for our club.Agger is just to injury prone other wise i would keep him.

Starting 11

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . REINA. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

JOHNSON. . . . . KELLY. . . . .SAKHO. . . . . . BAINES

. . . . . . . . . .M, VILLA. . . . . GERRARD. . . . . . . . . .

PAYET. . . . . . . . . . .SUAREZ. . . . . . . . . . .MUNIAN

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .CARROLL. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

SUBS- Douche, Carra, Flannagan, Robinson, Lucas, Marvaux, Meireles, Coady, Sterling, Suso, Wisdom, Kuyt,

This to me ed would be a very quick attacking line up and able to score goals from all over with diferent outlets, we would have a very serious chance of lifting number 19 with these players. your comments plse ed and plse post

Arsenal probably. . big summer for them apparently 100m-150m will be spent.

Arsenal spending £100m-150m is about as likely as Messi going to Everton.

They'll more than likely spend £40m tops, lose a few key players, but still be a good team by the start of the season. I think we'll be one of the top spenders.

Love the reply button, btw.

To anyone that thinks adam johnson is coming to lfc are way off the mark as are alot of the players being talked about. what i think alot of you are not seeing is lfc are not worryed about big names with big wages. they are looking for up and coming players. johnson will stay at city. the players that lfc will buy will be players that want to play at the club. they will not be begging them to come. alot of the players being talked about just want big money moves and that's why lfc won't bother. the way i see it since kenny has taken over and put some of the younger players in is do we really need to buy 5 or 6 players. or we need really is wings and a lb. what i would like to see the likes of morgan, suso, ngoo on the bench and bring them on thru the season. the more big names we bring in the less you will see of the younger players.

I agree and disagree.

We need to bring through youngsters, but only 1 or 2 at a time otherwise we could seriously weaken the team which then may cost us valuable points. I was suprised to see Robbo and Flanno playing together - but that time it paid off as they were class, now they just need to keep that level of performance up and we can bring in the next youngster - hopefully shelvy will pick up his game soon and so on, but this will take time. We need to buy some class as well as bring through the young talent. The young talent can sit on the bench and come on as subs as and when required.

Gary.

Agree i think the should be involved alot atleast 5 sub appearances and unused subs as they are our future. but i just hope we don't be too complacent and try to protect them too much as, sterling should also be used theo was used at arsenal when he was 17 and before that southhampton, but a loan move will do him good(only if he gets used when on loan otherwise liverpool has to do it)

johnson, kelly, carragher, baines
young, gerrard, meriles, downing
suarez, carrol

I think John Arne Riise for left back. he would be competing with aurelio and at the same time be there long enough to teach young robinson and also a left wing option can score goals, cheap, he's 30 so a few years left and then pass the torch over to robinson???

You could make the same arguement for Warnock and he can atleast defend. I think its a reasonable arguement but most people on here seem to prefer the idea of buying or getting someone in for Robinson to compete with over a longer period of time.

@Ed002

Come on now, mate. Are you really going to just shut yourself off from a lot folks because of a couple of abusive, cretinous posters?

I've been asking you some questions the past few weeks and you've been helpful, sharing whatever it is ya know.
The interaction's been good.
And I don't remember giving you abuse.
But now you're not gonna say nothing anymore.
Even to folks who genuinely seek and appreciate your info/ views.

I'm disappointed, mate, really.
You've often told those who don't like yer views to just skip them just like they'd change a channel if they don't like what's on.
Why won't you do the same?

You're not here to tell folks what they want to hear. You're an editor of a football forum and should disseminate whatever info you have as asked.
Whoever doesn't like it can lump it.
But your way of going about is not on, mate.
I was also under the impression that here was a thick-skinned fella.

I'd still appreciate that update on Sissoko, M'Vila and Sakho, if you're not intent on keeping mum, that is.

Come on, stop jumping on the 'Barca are divers and cheats' bandwagon, Real Madrid did the exact same in that match, yes there may of been some over reactions to tackles, and harrassment of the referee, but you would see if you watched Barca's games throughout the season that they don't dive/cheat as much as the media and their sheep will have you think.

Messi even stayed on his feet to shoot yesterday, when he could've gone down for a stonewall penalty from a Xabi slide tackle.

Murinho is totally bad for football period he is the king of continental cheating along with pep and barca, they
sicken me, the game over the last two legs were horrible
and came to a point of inevitability that cheating and
officials being in ore of the top sides is stifling the game, the
sooner we or an english team, rivalry aside beat them
and beat them good it will continue, yes it does in are game but in spain and world football it's worse, this barca side is not the best team ever it literally has twelve men, ref! and it does not need him or does it
we've beat them fair an square, and i don't think those players would get away with it in the prem, bring on next two years an we'll smash that hoodoo that is barca once again i f**kin hope, football fan not scam.

I am not sure if he has lived up to that or not, but if he has come anywhere near living up to it he would be an excellent signing. People think all these players will come to liverpool you don't know who liverpool want they have to buy a player that suits the way kenny wants to play you just can't buy what people want the best player in the world might not work in the team structure kenny will buy a player that will play team football not individual football aka benzima, kaka.personally i think they should get charlie adam he is a team player so is ashley young both young

This updated site is good and all, but we don't know if what the eds say is believable/ unbelievable or what the poster says is unbelievable/ believable. So there should be an believable, unbelievable, reply, agree to ed, disagree with ed.

Yes mate, was thinking the same. Have you Ed's been thinking about doing something about that? also on here tonight one of the Ed's, think it was Ed001, was sounding pretty optimistic about a possible move. just wondering if you have heard something recent, like the last day or two? cheers man

*Pobs* {Ed001's Note - there are definitely thoughts of doing something about that, I have discussed it with the techy people I know and it is apparently more difficult than this button, so we decided to do the button first. As for recent news, Sissoko and Lukaku I have been trying to chase up news of today and, once I got past the initial questions about how I knew anything etc, what I was told was encouraging. Neither are signed and sealed, not that encouraging, but just that the interest has led to initial promising talks.}

{Ed001's Note - if we go for him, high, but I am not entirely convinced we will, we never seem to go for the players I want, no matter how many times we scout them!}

At least I know someone feels the same 2 years ago it was all silva villa ribery aguero and it just does not happen, I hope we do go for the muniains pastores lavezzis matas banegas martinezs and Alonso but we know deep down were getting people like charlie "half a good season" adam, Ashley "can't cross and greedy" young, Gary "top hoofer" Cahill.

Don't get me wrong I wish we do get the above and not the latter and I trust whoever kk thinks we need but it would be nice to get that feeling when you turn on sky sports news and see a massive signing like Torres was and Suarez.(not Carroll he for me would be in the latter of above that we pay way over the odds for)

Forgot to sign was having my moment, Ed your thoughts mate, love the button it's so much easier keep up the good work

KopEndDannyLFC {Ed001's Note - you have summed up my feelings, but at least we get the chance to be proved wrong if they succeed and not care about being wrong. If they fail we get to say 'I told you so!', we can't lose really!}

Ed who would u rather see win the premiership. . . Man utd or Chelsea and Torres?
I would go for torres and chelsea cos i don't want the mancs to win! {Ed002's Note - Interestingly, if I were a Liverpool fan, which I am not, I think that I would care more about how Liverpool do next season rather more than how either Chelsea or Manchester United do. Liverpool have always been and I am sure will continue to be a great side on their own. I find it rather sad that folks look to trade off how competitor's do. But hell, Pastore, Sanchez and Neymar will make the difference.}

increasing sarcasm nice, these are age old human comparatives, as in we make comparatives all of us being human, Chelsea manu would make the same
so stop being panickaty(spelling)
a totally valid question.your'e going to far.

I suppose you're right about the whole should not be guaranteed. So do you have any other likely targets and when do you think they will be wrapped up? {Ed001's Note - I don't know about timelines, but I do think Sissoko is getting closer to a deal. There is still interest in a lot of other players and I am not sure who is a target and who we have ruled out. Until offers go in it is very difficult to be sure and a lot does rely on conjecture, it only normally becomes clearer when it is known exactly which agent and club are involved in any discussions. Unfortunately players are often told that there is interest in them from a big club just to get them playing better. That muddies the waters a lot, I remember a then Crewe player (if I remember correctly it was Danny Murphy) saying about how they used to get told a scout was watching them from so and so all the time. I got lucky enough to ask Dario Gradi about it and he just laughed and said about them using it to gee them up. Which is part of the reason it is so difficult to know exactly who we are watching.}

Hey ed, i'm the one that required help on the benzema rumours:P do you not think that he could be played in the first team with suarez taking more of a left sided attacking role, because that's where he seems to do most of his good work. {Ed001's Note - very possible he could do, but it is not us that have to decide his role in the team and more importantly I think Kenny feels, the same as I do, that no one should have a guaranteed place in the side.}

Hi ed I have a question that has been on my mind for a long time and I can not figure out the reason, why has KK not signed yet as permanent manager it is becoming embarassing and I am becoming worried that the owners will not act quickly and make us look bad which might affect players coming in. Please give me an answer with your latest info.thanks.

hibsylfc {Ed001's Note - there is nothing sinister in it, negotiations are just ongoing and it will be announced when the time is right for the club.}

Macca or eds or anyone for that matter?, could you please shed some light on these benzema rumours? Is there any truth in them because i don't see why we'd spend 20 mil on another striker when we need wingers, i'm so confused! {Ed001's Note - there is truth in them, we tried to get him for the January transfer window, but then Higuain's injury put paid to it. Since then he has been playing and scoring and is now not so desperate to just take the first escape route out of Madrid. Now he wants first team assurances so he is not jumping into the same position with someone else. That is a major sticking point and a move to us looks extremely unlikely because of that.}

Was gutted to see Alonso playing that way. He was clearly so frustrated. The man is a genuine footballer. A quarterback. He did a lot for us, and no doubt his departure sparked our temporary demise. Anyone who genuinely knows anyone at the club should be pleading with them to rescue Alonso from the shambles that us Mourinho. I implore you.

Alonso feeding Suarez and Carrol with a free role for Stevie. We could be lethal when attacking. (obviously defensively we'll be stronger too). Let's bring our playmaker home. Under Kenny, I'm sure we can build the team around him. Lord, knows he loils deflated at Madrid.

I completely agree that it would be great to have him back but where would meireles go or lucas (i no what youll think: oh lucas is crap) but in the last two season hes been our best player
also time isn't really on alonso side but what the hay!

{Ed001's Note - it is defo B mate, we get sick of deleting posts from idiots who think it is ok to abuse someone for giving an opinion. Sometimes you just give up as no one listens and instead listens to someone who tells them what they want to hear.}

I guess to many people expect us to spend like crazy. We all cannot spend like we have some FIFA 11 money cheat like City and Chelsea do.

Also people need to remember that we cannot bring in world class players such as Aguero, Sanchez, Hazard because we can't ofer champions league football.

Also i hate when someone joins City over us and people say, he's chosen money over trophies. WTF? City will be winning trophies soon, and I reckon they'll win more in the next few years then we will.

And remember we need to bring in 6/ 7 players, 3 wingers, 1 left back, 1 central midfielder, 1 striker and maybe 1 center back. Not every single one of those position but there areas that could do with strengthening. It would cost hundred of millions to buy a world class player for each position and squad players. We aren't that rich.

I along with everyone here would love a big money signing, but I doubt it'll happen. Maybe a quality signing like Adam Johnson from City or Benzema from Madrid but I certainly wouldn't be expecting Aguero, Mata etc or you'll end up being disappointed.

I expect a transfer window like:

Left back - Enrique
Left winger (2x) - Johnson (more in hope then expectation lol) and Merveaux
Central midfielder - Sissoko
Right wing - Payet
Striker - Lukaku

And that would still cost 65 - 70 million. So we would probably need to sell around 25-30 million of deadwood in the squad (Cole, Jova, Soto, Konchesky, Poulson, Aquliani, N'gog, Maxi, etc).

04 May 2011 00:24:34
So who is more likely to join ed? Benzema or Lukaku? And who else do we have strong interest in? Scouserlew.

There's no doubt dave that Suarez has brought somthing special to our squad mate. But i think it would be unfair on Lucas who has had a great 18 months imo.

Next season Luis will be nominated for PL player of the season. If he keeps doing what he is doing. I can't think of many better footballers than Luis in the PL now, never mind next season.

Blair Mayne YNWA

good point Blair mate but i still think his input has bean so great since jan it can't be ignored, without him would we be any were near 5th i can't see it, the
impact has bean so transforming it can't be ignored.

ps Blair love youre opinions youre a true red keep fighting the good fight.Walk on.
