Hello eds just a quick one gents/ gals any news or info on outgoings yet as I agree with 002 we really need to ship a fair few out before we commit to buying. Thanks in advance.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - The tranfer window has yet to open. A list of possible outgoings has been provided.}

04 Jun 2016 21:47:50
Moving away slightly from transfers can I ask the eds a question about stadium plans? After this extension is complete are there any plans to further develope anfield? This is assuming we are not sold before hand!

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - There is a Phase 2 that would take it to the 60k limit, but no schedule for it to happen just yet.}

05 Jun 2016 09:33:21
They should have sorted the Kop before anything else, even if it meant knocking down and rebuilding, I know the roads there but there's ways round it.

05 Jun 2016 12:55:17
I would completely disagree and say if we are doing the 4 stands then the kop is left until last.

If they were to touch the kop it would need to stay single tier but would also have to ensure that any plans did not take away from the atmosphere of the stadium.

05 Jun 2016 14:10:11
They'd fix the Annie Road end next if they were to touch anything else.
Restricted views all over it.

05 Jun 2016 18:11:02
They can't do any more until infrastructure is improved beyond 60k. access, transport etc. the Kop is supposed to be the iconic focal point but will now be dwarfed and be considered inferior to the other towering stands when annie road is done.

04 Jun 2016 20:54:55
Hello Edds was just wondering if their is any news on hector seen a couple of sites saying we've agreed a price with koln but echo has said we are not interested and also is their any news on dahoud think he could turn into a worldie under klopp thanks!

Believable2 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool agreeing a price nor of them speaking to Hector during half time today. THere is nothing new with Dahoud.}

04 Jun 2016 20:30:19
General question. Is it sensible to buy players who are involved in a summer tournement, either Euro 16 or Copa America, before the tournement?

I understand business is preferable soon as. Also get that a player valued at £10m could have a blinder and either become unavailable or suddenly £18m. Or the other ways and stinks, not worth the money paid clearly.

However, what if your £20m 29yr old striker breaks a leg is out for minimum of a season and could come back without that edge and now 30.

All transfers are gambles, but which is the better option here?

Believable1 Unbelievable6

05 Jun 2016 03:05:27
What if the same player goes out and scores 10 goals and raises his profile to attract interest from other teams? Take em when you can get em.

05 Jun 2016 11:03:06
To be fair, some players such as Carroll and Wilshere are safer from fitness trouble whilst they're on the pitch. There are no bar stools to fall off, and much less opportunity to get into a brawl with a knuckle dragger. It's probably harder to get your hands on booze and cigarettes in an England training camp than it is on holiday in Ibiza as well. Although Gazza managed it so you never know!

04 Jun 2016 20:21:12
Bartra gone to Dortmund, another one bites the dust, goes to show were not good BARTERERS (bartras) bum bum?

Believable4 Unbelievable9

04 Jun 2016 20:36:25
Close the door on your way out;)

04 Jun 2016 20:44:39
Never heard of him, was he a target?

04 Jun 2016 21:16:13
I can't see that he would be a centre back target as he's not really built for the premier league and he's not kicked on as Barcelona hoped.

04 Jun 2016 21:40:38
Ed002 mentioned him as a wildcard recently Ron.

04 Jun 2016 20:14:24
Dear eds
Could you please explain to me how clubs are allowed to complete deals before the window opens? I'm sure it's a simple answer, but is this occuring more in recent years?

Believable2 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - No "deals" involving players from other leagues can be complted until the paperwork is processed once the window opens. So Liverpool will formally anounce the likes of Matip after July 1.}

04 Jun 2016 19:20:01
When are we going to see a bit more transfer activity? 😝😝cheers all eds great job, I'm come to this site at least 5x a day.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps once the transfer window opens. Until then Liverpool will continue to make bids worth a total of £100M every day on different players.}

04 Jun 2016 19:49:48
Only 5x a day? How do you expect to keep up to date with all the transfer deals?

04 Jun 2016 18:47:38
Hi eds,

Another day another transfer your. This time we have apparently agreed a fee for Jonas Hector, anything in this? And another story we have had a bid rejected for Leroy sane, again any truth?

Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

04 Jun 2016 17:24:15
Ithink couts is a excellent technical player with wonderful skills. I believe the really great players are the players who consistently choose the right option when they have the ball and this is why couts disappoints me when watch him play. You might say he is still young I have seen no real improvement in this area. You may say JK will sort it I would like to think so to but I am not too sure so provided we really received a great amount of money for him and were able to sign a top player to replace him I would not be too disappointed if he wants to leave us and it happens.

Believable2 Unbelievable10

04 Jun 2016 20:38:38
So now the standard for keeping a player or not is how much he has improved? I am not sure Messi or Ronaldo improved much this year either. I don't compare Couts to them of course but if he stays at the level he is now for the rest of his career he is still the best player we have or second best in the worst case. He has more threat on the opposition goal than any other player with the exception of Sturridge maybe. And he can score goals from nothing which again players other than Sturridge can't. Check the goal against United in the EL second leg. I will take a goal like that against them every season without any improvement.

And as for the 'if we can sign a top player to replace him' we probably cannot. Top players will not come for exactly the same reason he goes they want to play in the CL and be in a club that is very likely tobe there next season and get some trophies.

In any case, even if we find a top player somehow by luck, we need players to improve the team of 2015/ 2016, not jsut to replace players, if we want to progress. Of course, if he wants to go there is nothing we can do about it but it will be a bad bad indication as to where we are and where we are heading.

04 Jun 2016 17:11:07
Are the Euros starting soon having an affect on our transfers ed001?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

04 Jun 2016 17:32:21
Which ones in particular? Or is it just in general?

{Ed001's Note - general.}

04 Jun 2016 17:34:55
So doubtfull any deals will be done until after?

{Ed001's Note - depends, some players we are after are not at either the copa or euros or olympics.}

04 Jun 2016 18:13:10
For example the fact that Chilwell is injured, would that hold up a deal as he wouldn't pass a medical ed001?

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

04 Jun 2016 18:45:30
How did city pull of gundogen ed with his dislocated knee siturion?

{Ed002's Note - Clubs can still sign players that they know will recover. Liverpool signed Aquilani for example.}

04 Jun 2016 20:28:50
Ha ha ed, sometimes your dry Witt tickles me.

05 Jun 2016 00:03:35
Ed2 do you think City signing Gundognan was a good or bad deal?
Something tells me he won't feature a lot this coming season.

{Ed002's Note - He was an early and clear target and they are picking them off one by one. The team they have is stale and needs a refresh - and that is exactly what they are doing.}

04 Jun 2016 15:34:35
Linked strongly with sane and hector today. I know another day another link, but sane especially I would love. Young quick and dangerous. Can't see it myself though, this he will go to a bigger side. I know people and ed002 say hector would be strange as he's not a Klopp style player, but I for one would rather a full back be competent defenders first and foremost. Buying a full back who can defend and work with him to suit his style is better for me than getting someone like Moreno who is more a Klopp player and trying to get him to learn to defend. I've said it before, with origi Sturridge and firmino, plus one more, hopefully coutinho, they should be able to get goals, if we can keep the opponent out.

Believable7 Unbelievable5

04 Jun 2016 16:33:42
Leicster have just won the league with fuchs. Athletico final and league 3rd with luis.

There are pleanty of attacking aexamples but its not always the wordt to have a competent defender first and foremost.

04 Jun 2016 17:07:35
We have potency up front so i'd much rather see us solid at the back, hector and flanagan on either side would bring that. With mignolet replaced as well, this could see us concede fewer stupid goals and instead set the tone in matches by scoring goals first.

04 Jun 2016 23:56:45
Agree with you AW. More that when we score first. We hang on. Was it 19 points dropped from winning positions last season, or more?

04 Jun 2016 15:17:35
Ed 02 have we actully agreed fee with Jonas hector? If so what's happening with the interest in Chilwell then?

Believable1 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea.}

04 Jun 2016 15:22:48
Cheers for Rely Ed 02. Great to see you back.

04 Jun 2016 15:33:27
Liverpool have no interest in signing Hector.

04 Jun 2016 15:52:14
As I said the other day, interest in chilwell has gone! It will be hector now by the looks of it, you not heard anything eds!

04 Jun 2016 16:21:36
Ed has said we are bringing in two LBs. Hector and Chilwell?

04 Jun 2016 16:46:56
Sorry lads but according to Ben Smith from the BBC (reliable imo), Jonas Hector is not a target at this moment.

04 Jun 2016 20:45:51
Ed002 knows nothing of it so that's more reliable than Ben Smith.

04 Jun 2016 14:20:26
I'm so pleased life is back to normal. It was weird without ed002 for a day or two, a bit like after a family argument!

Anyway, all good now, and I'm looking forward to seeing the squad on August 6th as I've just got my tickets for the Barcelona game 😀😀😀.

Believable11 Unbelievable6

04 Jun 2016 14:39:18
Ed02 is Fotballing Encyclopedia. There is nothing he isn't aware when it comes to the game. Just have a look at the European pages, He has been answering everyone on every player.

04 Jun 2016 23:30:05
Yeah and think there's a bit of a love hate relationship going on between us and him.

{Ed002's Note - You think there is "love"? Are you some sort of hippie bum?}

04 Jun 2016 14:10:22
Hi eds, this is probably just Twitter nonsense, but there's rumours that Sturridge has put his house up for sale in anticipation of moving to a club in London (probably Arsenal? ) . Do you reckon it's BS?

Believable1 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - I am the wrong person to ask about houses for sale. I understand that houses in Liverpool will be much less expensive than the south. Try a local estate agent.}

04 Jun 2016 15:47:00
DS has been considering selling his Liverpool home for a while and I thought that he had already placed it on the market. I can see him going to Spurs if he leaves as Arsenal are looking at Jamie Vardy.

04 Jun 2016 20:37:12
Sturridge lives in a penthouse in town and funnily enough one of them in the building he lives in is up for sale.

Maybe he is sick of being bothered when he goes to Tesco or Saisburys though or maybe he's just bored of living there who knows?

Be a shame if he were to leave though, on his day he is unplayable and one of the best goalscorers in the country if not the best. If we sold him to somebody in the Prem it would definitely come back and bite us on the arse, probably end up staying fit for the next 5 seasons and go on to being an elite striker! Be gutted if he went!

04 Jun 2016 14:08:02
Hello Ed02,
What happened to my earlier post / Replies? Apologies if it offended the site.

Cheers mate, Big thanks for coming back.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - No idea.}

04 Jun 2016 13:47:18
If Hector and Chilwell both sign i can definitely see Moreno leave, some people are suggesting he should stay and be played at LAM, but he really isn't intelligent enough with his crossing or shooting to start for us, and too expensive to bench.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

04 Jun 2016 16:24:00
Chilwell doesn't look to be happening anymore anyway. I think Leicester wanted a bit more than we where willing to offer. Hector and Moreno would be good competition for the left back position. I think Gomez will go out on loan as ed2 has mentioned and Enrique is obviously gone.

04 Jun 2016 17:39:13
id prefer getting chilwell and hector in, if it was just chilwell and he got injured, we're back with Moreno.

04 Jun 2016 13:41:02
Hi eds
Apparently we have agreed a price for Jonas hector with cologne, Liverpool are no holding talks with him? Have you heard about this and is it true or not. Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Are you sure that this is not just Twitter or whatever? He is in the squad to play an international match later today.}

04 Jun 2016 14:21:31
The source of the rumours seem to be coming from This Is Anfield. Don't know how reliable they are, as they're usually just known for passing on third party stories about Liverpool.

04 Jun 2016 14:21:49
But why would that matter ed2, we can agree a fee with Cologne wherever he is, surely?

{Ed002's Note - The comment was in response to the statement that Liverpool are in talks with the player.}

04 Jun 2016 13:26:41
Guys did coutinho win anything to miss winning cups?

Believable6 Unbelievable8

04 Jun 2016 14:17:33
Apparently he wants to start winning and miss them once he don't.

04 Jun 2016 13:26:22
Klopp when asked about Coutinho

"Barcelona and not PSG or City are a worry, but I have no doubt he will give us at least next season and that should be enough, we're at a turning point"

Believable15 Unbelievable1

04 Jun 2016 17:40:59
That should be enough for what? To convince him this is the right place for him?

05 Jun 2016 11:34:32
A trophy :)

04 Jun 2016 13:08:10
Looking like Koeman to Everton instead of Pellegrini Ed001 (not having a dig mate)

Believable4 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - I know mate, surprised at Saints board and him, both were adamant he was going nowhere. Money talks sadly.}

04 Jun 2016 14:07:28
Made up. This might sound weird but I want Liverpool and Everton to be going for titles together again. Hate all the others worse than Everton. Love a derby victory just to wind up collegues and family haha

Hate the fact that city and united could both if directed right now. could be top two and champions league finalists together. can't be doing with that myself.

All the best to koeman and Everton. Use won't topple us but let's topplw united and city together!

04 Jun 2016 14:18:42
That means Everton finally have MONEY.

04 Jun 2016 16:26:10
Think that might mean de boer at Southampton. It would make sense.

04 Jun 2016 17:44:14
Feel for saints a bit, they are a well run side, great youth system and scouting system, but if they keep losing managers and players they will never reach the next stage. With koeman going, maybe mane they will do very well to match this season, done it before, but again would be a great achievement.

04 Jun 2016 13:08:50
Eds a number of unreliable social media sights reporting we've agreed fee with cologne for j. Hector and have had a bid for leroy sane rejected. I presume this is complete rubbish?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Try asking on Twitter.}

04 Jun 2016 14:09:36
What a waste of time to go for sane. If anything we will just spark city into action and be let down again. I'm all for trying but there has to be realism.

This is what gets me down about our owners, they will go for these players to satisfy us but we all. no there not realistic. Yet the players who we could het were bit bidding for.

The owners have been great don't get me wrong but its costa, William, mkhi, texi etc that they go for pretty much knowing we wonr get them and its like they can go at least we tried instead of going and getting someone who wr could actually get.

04 Jun 2016 12:47:47
Eds, chances of us capturing ............

Believable1 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - You need to answer questions about random European players on the European pages - where you can read already about where he might well be heading.}.

04 Jun 2016 13:52:32
Ok thanks.

04 Jun 2016 12:22:56
Ed2 great insight into Gomez and what could happen in the near future, one of our targets is Chilwell at left back, do you know a lot about his game?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - No.}

04 Jun 2016 11:50:39
Hey Ed's, we all appreciate the work you guys put into the site, my question relates to long term suggestions that Klopp wants a squad reshuffle, so do you think Klopp is actively looking to offload a decent number of players from the squad e. g. 4 or 5 and if so who do you think is most at risk of being shipped out? Also, what are the chances of any new coaching staff coming in after the 2 from Bayern joined us a few weeks back? Cheers for any reply.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - The club have to lose considerably more players than they can add this summer. I have no idea about coaching and you need to understand that Nemmer and Kornmayer are not football coaches at all. Rangers are taking Rossiter. Swansea approached Liverpool in respect of taking Joe Allen on loan in January - it was rebuffed then but interest may exist in the summer. Milan may well take Balotelli but fear that they may need to renegotiate the price - else other options in Italy will be sought. Fenerbahce will look to sign Liverpool’s Lazar Markovic in the summer after a successful loan period but the player will look to discuss his future with the club - and he wants guarantees (I don't know if the club will give them or not). Trabzonspor want to take Yesil from Liverpool and have already made an approach to the club. Sinclair is off to Watford - and Enrique will leave. Teixeira has no future at Liverpool and will leave with interest from Sousa (but no agreement with Fiorentina but I expect tehre will be) and Zenit who are already looking at the market and sorting out another critical roll at the club. Coutinho is of interest to PSG and Sakho to Besiktas. I don't think there are any plans for Lucas to leave right now but If Lucas were to leave and a decision made not to promote any of the youngsters then perhaps the club would look to a replacement from outside. Joe Gomez has a lot of potential and the injury was a very significant disruption to his career. Part of the problem was always going to be related to the step up from playing centre back at a lower tier to playing it in the Prelemier League. As a full back it seems very clear that Klopp does not consider him as a viable option to start the season with. The option of a 6 month loan is there, and then the club can reconsider whether they need him for the latter part of the season. I would be rather surprised if he did not head to Celtic on a 6 month loan and very surprised if he doesn't go on loan somewhere. The club cannot keep adding players to an already bloated squad. Don't be surprised if Ibe doesn't make the cut at Liverpool. Ibe will very likely move on. Bogdan will move on. Benteke and Alberto will probably leave.}

04 Jun 2016 13:56:16
Skrtel to besiktas not sakho I'm guessing.

{Ed002's Note - Yep, sorry.}

04 Jun 2016 15:52:34
Ilori and Wisdom too I would think.

04 Jun 2016 11:05:31
All this talk of Coutinho leaving.

Simple. If he asks to leave. Thanks for the effort and all the best in your career. (Apart from lining up against us)
He hasn't acted in a way instigated by a rogue agent. Only last summer Sterling was having his strings pulled publicly.

If he stays, let's just hope Himself and Klopp can find him to have a consistent season and do for us in. A regular basis what we all know he is capable of.

Believable4 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - He spoke openly about it to three International collegues last summer - which is how we knew.}

04 Jun 2016 11:58:17
I find it baffling that his consistency is called in to question. He is a 23 year old flair player. Whilst I disagree that he is our best player (as I think that is Hendo), Coutinho is our biggest threat going forward. Thus opposition teams almost always set up to nullify the threat.

All things considered, he is bound to have off days where the opposition do get the tactics right and shut him out. As he gets older he will learn how to cope with being the centre of attention with clever movement, an intricate first touch, or completely changing the way he plays. Cutting in on to your stronger foot gets very predictable.

However, if he was to move to PSG or Barcelona he would not be the main threat in the team anymore which would grant him more time on the ball.

Suarez struggled with inconsistency in England. Even the season he got 31 goals in 33 games, 17 of those goals came in the first 11 games. After Christmas his ratio dropped significantly to 14 goals in 22 games. Still impressive, but the opposition saw how much of a goal threat he was and marked him out of the game. So he had to drop deeper to get involved in the play which meant he was further away from goal and couldn't maintain a record of almost two goals per 90 minutes. This is where adaptability comes in though, as Suarez had the experience to change his game. By dropping deeper he didn't score as many, but he started creating a lot more goals instead. Coutinho hasn't figured out his individual plan B just yet. But when he does, like Suarez he will be unplayable. His conversion rate is atrocious, but with better players around him he won't feel he has to shoot from 30 yards 4 times a game.

I will be loathe to lose a potentially world class talent, but if Coutinho wants out, we need to let him go. Football is not the slave trade. We can't keep him shackled here if he has realised that as a player he has outgrown where we currently are as a club.

04 Jun 2016 12:09:45
I have to agree with you MK in I would be more annoyed if Hendo were to leave.

04 Jun 2016 11:49:59
Ya 1 of them being saying he should join psg . Is 1 of them Alves ed.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

04 Jun 2016 13:24:03
All good MK.
With your stat of Suarez and the beginning of the season. i'm sure Sturridge was out for the start and that's a factor into him scoring more. Not taking anything away from him in this, I think when Sturridge returned his space was limited to be the free scoring player as Sturridge was finding space which also gave Suarez his assist ratio better reading?

100% agree that when we have Origi and/ or Sturridge available he is a better player because he has movement in front of him and he doesn't feel the need to shoot from X amount of yards. With the hope of Ings coming into the fold next season I think he'll have a field day with laying on chance after chance.

Going back to what the Ed said and you agreed to. If he wants out. Thanks for all and all the best.

Do you think Ojo is ready to step up and take a place on the left side of a pronged attack, or would you still use him as a impact sub with a few starts here and there?

04 Jun 2016 16:26:02
It was Neymar who said he would like Coutinho at Barca.

04 Jun 2016 10:41:28
Soton have released Gaston Ramirez. I, for one, reckon we should snap him up for free. It fills our quota of Southampton players this transfer window without having to give up any cash. This will free is up to get players that we need :)

Believable9 Unbelievable11

04 Jun 2016 18:05:52
A few seasons ago i'd say 90% of posters on here wanted gaston.

04 Jun 2016 09:23:09
Morning eds. just a quick thought. Would you think klopp would ever go back for kagawa? He didn't have the best of times at United I know, usually played out of positions.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - No.}

04 Jun 2016 09:11:29
hi all Ed002 what do you think about psg interest in Coutinho. i don't think he would be a masive miss goals and assists are not that great. and does go missing in the big games more often than not.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Coutinho is a decent player but as with many his age wants instant gratification. If he wants to go and an acceptable offers arrrives Liverpool should not stand in his way.}

04 Jun 2016 10:35:36
The reality is, if a really good offer is made, he'll go. The club would be right to turn down £45m but if PSG go over £55-60 would be stupid to turn it down. Unlike Suarez, players like Coutinho or Sterling aren't hard to replace. Would love us to go for Rafa Silva, has pace, skill, guile and end product.

04 Jun 2016 11:16:13
i agree with the ed. coutinho is a good player not a world class player yet. he has a potential but there are hundreds of players with potential. he was at times our best player but we need to buy smart and we will not even notice he is gone.

04 Jun 2016 11:57:50
Yes your right he often goes missing in "big games" he scored 12 goals in 44 games (a goal every 3.66 games not bad for a 23 year old left winger and the 7 assists) out of his 12 goals he scored the winner on the opening day of the season
2 against Chelsea (klopps first win)
1 against Everton
1 against United (very important)
1 against Dortmund
1 against man city (league cup final)
1 against spurs
1 against city in the 4-1 (and MoM)
1 against west ham
1 against palace
I agree he is inconsistent but to accuse him of never turning up in "big games" is wrong in my opinion I suppose you could add that man city winner in the season we finished second as another example against that.

It seems to me that every time one of our better players leave some fans try and rationale it by saying "oh well he's not even very good" or in suarezs case "no one is bigger than the club" which is true but doesn't mean them leaving isn't bad. then there's sterling last year who also began getting some abuse and the he's not very good treatment with people going as far as to say ibe would instantly replace him and than turning on him later in the season. All in all it would be bad if coutinho left I don't want to see it as simple as that.

04 Jun 2016 12:17:36
Ed2 I think Klopp as always said that players who wants to go he will not stand in there way, if an offer matches the clubs value.

{Ed002's Note - It is not Klopp's decision.}

04 Jun 2016 13:29:30
Queen of Starling, if Couts goes then I wish him well, he's a good player who's always played his part. Even if he's not had a good game he'd pop up with a moment of magic. He's not joining a premier league rival and we'd get a sackful of cash. I trust Klopp better with that money that Rodgers any day.

04 Jun 2016 09:25:38
Who's the most likely team to get lacazette? Would love to see him at Liverpool but I know it's highly unlikely.

We have too many strikers already.

04 Jun 2016 10:39:23
In the words of Ed002- i am not going to comment on what might be likely.

04 Jun 2016 10:25:27
Read a while ago PSG might look up to him. There has also been speculations about west ham and Newcastle trying to make a deal. But the player would want CL which might rule out both. European page would be the best place to find about him mate. Nothing from Liverpool if I am right.

04 Jun 2016 14:43:03
In the words of Ed002 this is the Liverpool page try the European page. That being said would be happy if we signed him. Only if others were to move on of course.

{Ed002's Note - Lacazette won't be moving to Liverpool.}

He's a one season wonder and no longer good enuff. Btw, most of his goals are penalties.

There's a lot about couts on here recently, it comes down to one thing if he doesn't want to play for the shirt then he doesn't deserve to wear it. Class only gets you so far and desire does the rest, look at Leicester they won because they were a team, not a bunch of individuals. If we wants to stay great, but if he wants to leave sell him to the highest bidder and get players in that want to take the club back to the top.

Defensive organisation and game management also help.

If Coutinho goes which will not bother me actually as he goes missing for 4 games and turns up on 1 game and again goes missing for 4 games. If he goes, I would like us to replace him with Yunus Malli.

Ask yourself, will Yunus Malli be better than Coutinho has been for us?

You say Countiho goes missing in games so you think Malli won't and he'll score more goals and get more assists?

If not then we are going backwards as the team would get worse.

When he goes missing though he is usually being tracked by 2 or 3 opposition players, creating space for others. That is why he only seems to turn up against better teams like City, Dortmund, United and Chelsea. Because their game plan is all about how to beat us. Whereas against the lesser sides (which includes Sevilla! ) their game plan is about how to stop us.

Irrespective of all of that, he is 23 years old which is still very young; inconsistency and youth go hand in hand.

I really didn't want to get involved in this Coutinho debate, but it is embarrassing watching one of our best players get crucified just because he has realised he is too good for mid table mediocrity.

Who cares about wilshere he's nowt to do with liverpool . we need to get a couple of marquee signings to keep the likes of coutinho.

A marquee signing would be a proper goalkeeping coach.

04 Jun 2016 11:52:28
Ed001, you mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the former Man Utd goal keeping coach was available.

Q1. Were you referring to Frans Hoek or Eric Steele? According to Man U fans I know it was Eric Steele who turned De Gea from a flapper to the world's no. 1.

Q2. was this just a thought, or were you referring to a link actually on Klopp's radar?

Thanks for your time.

{Ed001's Note - it wasn't Steele and he was not solely responsible for De Gea's improvement. It was just a thought as we were discussing how useless our one is.}

Regarding the Coutinho saga.

If he wants to get into Barcelona starting lineup then he really needs to have a breakthrough season like Suarez did.

If he is looking at PSG then his current level should be fine.

I think he should stay and give his best next season.

Attacking midfield of Firminho, Coutinho and possibly Goetze with Sturridge/ Origi upfront will be brilliant and can get us into top 4. Klopp is already shoring up the defense.

So Phil. please stay!

What do you think ED. is there a chance of seeing this team next season?

Guys don't worry Cou won leave.

Not worried either way. It's the team that counts and a team is only as strong as its weakest link.
Kloppo is already addressing the weaknesses in our team.

04 Jun 2016 06:02:44
Thank you Aneshred! I am just a little bit curious: Who are you and how do you know?

04 Jun 2016 09:58:16
The worrying thing is not actually losing Phil.
But be concerned as to why our best players feel they can't fulfill their ambitions at Liverpool.

04 Jun 2016 10:25:25
That's easy DBol, it's because we're not winning anything or challenging in the league.
Players primarily want money and success/ fame. We have no problem paying the money, but we're not consistently challenging for the title and we're not consistently playing in the champions league.
Klopp now has the chance to build a team which is not reliant on one or two players and I back him 100% to do that.

At the end of the day I can think of 2 standout "great" players who didn't leave us at some stage and those are Dalglish and Gerrard. Losing top players didn't stop us being successful because we had great teams and that's what we need to get back to.

Decisions decisions, to win the lottery or to go back in time 5 years and get a Fifa contract from Mr Blatter.

Just go back in time to when the jackpot was £100m and win it or if you do have a functioning time machine then sell it for 10 billion 😎.

04 Jun 2016 08:00:40
Aren't those two options essentially the same thing?
