if dirk kuyt and maxi rodriguez get sold in the summer, which is what the eds have shown is more than likely to happen then why not buy james mcclean with the money. the man is feirce. he is better than downing and has a work ethic similar to kuyts. he has been the key figuire on the pitch of the sunderland revival. nearly everything they do goes through him and rarely have i seen him not deserve the motm award in sunderland games

ive been hard on andy carrol , and there was reasons for it , it was his lack at tracing back ,not running enough and just moaning and falling over , the last 3 games he stopped all this and put some effort in , wich had 2 reactions , 1 the supporters are getting behind him and 2 he is scoring and setting up goals , wich goes to show , the harder he works the more he gets out of it and us
Carrol has worked his nuts off since he joined....he was not fit because of injury,and he has tried to gain fitness, which is only achieved through playing matches. I will always stand off for the man, as i think considering the lack of service the man gets, his willingness to get on with it and try is an inspiration.......look, he cost 35million pounds, and the pressure must be immense...buthe puts a decent shift in , and he will succeed.Find him a partner, and put some decent crosses, or decent balls in(take note Adam and Downing)...he will score goals...sell him, and he will come back to haunt you....promise!!Pinhead.

There main attacking threat is from the left wing with Assou-Ekotto and Bale running with pace at our defence. I would choose Kelly over Johnson and play Gerrard and Henderson in midfield. Ed, I've seen loads of these so called Warrior Liverpool kits and yet the one thing they all have in common is the old Liverpool badge.
Are Liverpool about to get rid of the hillsborough memorial badge they currently occupy on their shirts in favour of the traditional badge?

I'm a Liverpool fan bit live in Manchester!, I'm about 10 minutes away from the city ground and it hammered with snow around here, plus the game was on Espn which was free this weekend, this might be why the stadium was not full

So, the tickets are available for the final against Cardiff at wembley, but when i have a look on the LFC site it tells me...

Just when I thought there was no God apart from Robbie, I think I might be wrong. The proof that God exists? Christian Poulsen has said that there is no possibility of him returning to Liverpool after this season! Hallelujah! He feels "more important" at Evian than at Liverpool apparently.
On a side note Eds, I was under the obviously wrong assumption that Poulsen going to Evian was a permanent deal. So was it a Joe Cole type scenario with us offloading him and paying most of his wages? If so, do you think this summer will just be a case of us paying off the remainder of his contract, getting shut, and not getting a fee for him? (Not that we were likely to get that much in the first place!)

That little sycophantic tw*t Oliver Holt has basically blamed Liverpool for getting John Terry ousted as England Captain. He blames things like the club's reaction to the Suarez incident, the fan at the Oldham match and the crowd booing Evra last week, amongst other things. And there was me thinking it had something to do with Terry being caught on camera allegedly racially abusing a player in the first instance, and because the FA feel that the situation whereby the acting captain would have the prospect of a criminal trial hanging over his head during the Euros would be untenable because of the greater expectations and high profile nature of the England captain's job during a major tournament. I'm glad you pointed out to me Oliver that if it hadn't been for my club, Terry would still be captain. I can't wait for your "Anyone but Gerrard" campaign for the next England captain.
The vast majority of the press in this country make me sick, and this cowardly article is yet another example of why.

I agree hes starting look like a real threat up front now, the sooner hes settles the better, he may never live up to the £35 million price tag but if his game improves there is every chance he could be one of our main attackers for the next 10 years, when you look at it like that its money well spent, i think when he hits his prime 27/28 hes going to be an absolute monster

What this poor Arsenal fan is implying is neither of us (Spurs / Liverpool) are as big as them. They're all s*itting themselves this year cos they've forgotten what a brilliant job Arsene Wenger has done to keep them in the CL, and build a new stadium, on no money. Now suddenly it's all Wenger's fault cos he hasn't spent. The League table won't lie mate and you lot will not be in the top 4 at the end of it. F*n Arsenal fans, like they invented football.

I live and work among quite a few Arsenal fans and they're mostly murder, esp the younger ones. It's like football was invented with the appearance of Wenger. All that "hoof" when we played them. Them ****ers were the worst for it under George Graham. I don't like their fans, fk em.

Im sure one of the ED's said that we had Villa and Silva lined up when rafa was are manager but the cowboys pulled out of the deals.

Hi all.
Been coming on this site now every day for the past two years but have been unable to access the internet for the last month. What im trying to say is I've missed this site so much.
Fantastic results of late, a cup final, 4 points behind Cheese and knocking Ma*utd out the FA cup.
I really believe we can go all the way to the final in the FA cup with Spurs being the toughest opponents. if we could win both cups and make top 4 what a turn around that would be.
Andy carol's starting to gain some confidence and i really think he's going to shock a few people as his form starts to creep in.
Im hoping chelsea draw and think the results will go our way on Monday.
We have some tough games coming up and over the next few weeks, hope we prove we are good enough for the top 4.

Interesting.
Alan Smith (pretty astute bloke and football pedigree) in Telegraph has Liverpool FC 4th, Chelski 5th, Arse 6th and Newcastle 7th.
He reckons LFC have clicked and got their mojo again and I must admit I do see a bit of swagger coming back.
Monday will be tough. Spurs very good passing team and goals from midfield and wings. The Kop and all 11 must be Red Hot from first whistle.
I'd love to see Suarez playing a #10 position behind a front 2 but it may be too early in our team's development. So I reckon Kelly at RB and Gerrard on right to pick up Bale with Enrique and Bellamy on left. Need solid and massive running Midds, so Henderson and Spearing - with Carroll ahead of Suarez, who may play little deeper. Later, bring on Adam, Kuyt - maybe Downing. Or - all being good, Carraaa to close down game for last 10.
Spurs are a very good team. But so were Man C and Man U. LFC have come such a long way with new players, style of footie and much better discipline (look at our defensive record - its superb). A lot of this will be Steve Clarke, as that was his mark at Chelsea..
I think we will do it on Monday. An early goal from Suarez, a penalty after a foul on Carroll and a breakaway goal from Bellamy. MOTM - Gerrard. Just pipping Henderson.

hi guys great website. i got to say that im very nervous about monday. i hope we thrash them. the spurs fans keep talking rubbish about us and i had enough. we beat all the other top teams so surely, we can do it again this monday. also do u guys know that gerrard hasn't played against spurs since 2010?. hopefully he starts so he can terrorize their midfield and defense. also with a 40 YEAR OLD goal keeper in the spurs them, surely that means we can score goals. what do u guys think?. thanks and ynwa

When the euro rolls around, do supporters of bigger clubs show support for england? i've heard once that due to the rivalries between the top english clubs that their players are hated enough by rival fans that they don't really follow england that closely?
Is this the case or am i way off the mark? {Ed001's Note - I have no idea how others feel, but personally I have no interest in how England get on. I always cheer on the team with the most Liverpool players in it.}

Very happy fan at the mo, three great results but most importantly three good performances by carroll, adam and henderson. Lets hope the progress continues and kenny can find a way to get downing to perform. Have a feeling we may just make that CL spot.

kenny is to worried about dropping players and keeping everyone happy which is why we will rarely see the same team sheet twice. for next match.suarez will start. carrol or bellamy wil be on bench, downing will start. kuyt will be benched. gerrard for adam. understand that choice. kenny needs to figure out his best eleven, it changes too much as well as the stlye of play. we seem to be going through a testing stage to see what works and what doesnt work. based on our last performances, kenny should pick a team similar to this.

With adam, kuyt, henderson, maybe maxi on bench to change things up. i doubt kenny would drop henderson for spearing. he will start both which takes away a place for bellamy or carroll. positive downing will start since he didnt start last game. basically the team picks it self because kenny wants everone to be happy in the squad, i hope he changes this way of thinking.
I think suarez will come on in the second half.

I think your an person if you think someone like Kenny would be worried about keeping people happy after his rant about what sort of character a player needs to represent the Liver bird... I don't think Kenny Dalglish suffers from keeping players happy. Have you not got it yet - Kenny is trying to build a squad of players who want to play with pride and a way. Its a squad game - not a team one. His and steve Clarke's development of Kelly, Spearing, Henderson, Flanagan is so so smart. LFC have the kind of selection problem we were once used to - which makes being a fan great again. 433? 541? 353? Kenny is much more a Dutch style coach - he wants players to be flexible. Centre halves play football and strikers tackle and win defensive headers. Bellamy and Agger are such. LFC players. No, Kenny will not be worried about player tantrums.

Tyson Fury has decided against fighting Liverpools very own David Price and is not willing to put his British and Commonwealth title's on the line.
I am a close friend of David's and he is as you can imagine very annoyed at Tyson's decision not to be the man he always says he is.
Price is the most talented heavyweights we've produced for a long time. Price would spark Fury within three rounds, that's why he won't fight him. He'll end up getting the titles taken off him for refusing to fight the mandatory challenge or just giving them up. Fury has reached his peak now, whereas Price has the potential to use the British and European belts as a stepping stone to bigger things. A supposed heavyweight champion who's a conscientious objector. Who'd have thunk it.

Totally agree Sean mate. Price will be more than a match for the Klitscho's, after a couple more fights, under his belt. Fury is just a big lump with no technique and slow. Price is quick, has good technique, fast hands and heavy hands.
I don't blame Fury, for not fighting him.

It will be Fury's manager blocking the fight, Tyson will end up fighting Matt Skelton who is shot but is a previous WTC will look good on his c.v. David Price is far to dangerous for Fury. But how good would it be if they both took titles off the Klicthkos in a few years, and then had a unifying world title fight at Wembly.
