The mirror reckon that we could loan out Lucas, out player of the season, and replace him with anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia. Haha worst transfer story of the year so far surely.

Shane Long would fit in very well with the way Kenny Dalglish is building Liverpool's attacking outfit. Long would feed very well of Andy Carroll.

Anyone else wants to pull me on the names i call Liverpool players. Raul M i've always called, if i want to call Aqualani Albert i will. It seems its right to call Soto the Greek, over and over and over again. Alberts sure cast a spell on a lot of fans. Why the f*** is their not a que of top clubs fighting over his signiture. Shame that Raul M doesn't get the same support,much more deserved then a guy who looks like he's lost the euro millions winning lottery ticket everytime i've seen him in our shirt. He does not want to play for Liverpool FC, end of story. Raul M does and i hope he stays because i thought at loyalty and passion were the traits that our great club is known for. Albert hasn't shown any whatsoever. Why the f*** has his agent trying to move heaven and earth to get him a move. Raul M defo should have his deserved wage rise promised and be kept over someone who does not want to be here. Jonson6
--------------------------------------------------
I like Raul too Jonson6 mate, but no matter how much we like him. He is still too lightweight for the PL, just like Aquaman. If he stays were do we play him? Do we drop Luis and play him in behind Carroll? Or play him as the AM in a midfield 4? These are positions that we have already got covered i.e Adam, Henderson, Gerrard and Luis. Would Raul be happy to sit on the bench week in, week out? A player of his quality shouldn't have to, yet another reason i fear he might look else where. As for the pay rise mate, i'm with you. But IF we have intentions of selling him, then what's the point of giving him one?

I actually feel sorry for Raul because since he came, he has been a breath of fresh air. It's just a shame he is not equipped for the riggers, of the PL and dosn't get stuck in. But hopefully he stays, gets stuck in 50/50 balls and gets the pay rise he deserves. Then all will be rosie again, in the garden of Jonson6, eh J6?

why is everyone hating liverpool honestly because we spent big this summer and no body cares about city and when its chelsea's part time fans taking a break from spending there daddy's cash to come on here and say it they must really be something up

Ed's, anyone..?

Just wondering if anyone knows much about Sama, he came on as a sub in the last game, did ok...but he's never been mentioned on this site before, or after his appearance?

dmedly {Ed001's Note - he is a youngster, he broke into the reserves last season, still a long way from the first team. He has been overshadowed by Wisdom in defence but he looks decent.}

Gabriel Milito has been released on a free from barca

I dont abuse anyone who dont deserve it. If someone says something about like someone with my spelling and then spells something wrong himself, i'm not gonna say nowt back,then another saying Ed002 has an agenda over Albert. Jog on mate, i've been posting long enough on here to know its someone who's called himself Michael Mouse to know he's put a blag name up and another nameless wonder. I've f*** all to be ashamed about with my posts. Always stick up for club,coaching staff team and players who want to play for our great club . I've posted this way for a long time so why has it come across as such a shock for you with your blag name and nameless wonder tonight ? Doesn't take a brain surgeon to work how who's posted em really. Dont f***in read em, simple,they must not be negative enough for ya's eh. You'll never ever read a post from me giving our great club any negative s**te at all ever. Jonson6

Evening Eds, I know you regularly say any deals involving players from both clubs are rare, but is there any chance Danny Wilson could be loaned out to Bolton or Birmingham within the deals for Cahill or Dann? Preferably Bolton in my opinion as Owen Coyle seems to be a good manager for young talent, and I prefer Cahill over Dann too. Cheers

If a deal for Gary Cahill was to take off, the deal would most likely be £12,000,000 & David Ngog. Ofcourse, this would only be if we are actually interested in the Bolton centre-back.

Thanks for your concern but the only thing i get angry about is the negative posts about our great club, look back a year ago and look now and their isn't a lot to be pissed about, then they fail to leave a name. Just so when things turn out great you'll notice a lot posts being signed. Shoot me down but if i swear a lot thats how it is,i aint pretendeing to be something i aint,a bulls**ter,it comes out as it comes out. You'll soon see the upturn in posters not supporter's but posters leaving their names come October. Mark my words because anyone who visits this site regulary knows all of the regular supporters do leave names and like i said, it'll be easy to spot the new ones come the October/November. Should the government Tax English clubs that decide to buy Foreign players. A Foreign player tax that would be used to improve our own national football. Grass roots, investing in young players, equipment to create a better sporting future for England.

It would stop England being such a joke at world-cups.

04 Aug 2011 21:32:16
Ive just been going through the squad and tried to be objective about the players.

Assuming we buy a LB and a CB, according to my reckoning, we will have 20 TOP QUALITY players with proven international experience at the very highest level. All of these players would get in any team in the prem immediately.

We also have 16 brilliant young lads coming through who have all either had first team experience already or offer great potential. ( Kelly, Spearing, Flanno, Robinson, Pacheco, Sterling, Coady, Shelvey, Suso, Ngog, Wisdom, Amoo, Wilson, Eccleston, Ayala, Mendy)

I am really excited about the future.....especially with kenny in charge.

Happy days ahead lads, lets all just get behind the team, no moaning about this player or that player....we have a great squad now

To the people who have complained about our signings if you spend the same amount of money for similar players who would you have signed? I think that we paid alot for downing and hendo but surely that is a good sign. It shows that these players are players who their clubs did not want to let go. Put it this way, I'd rather have a Downing then a O'shea or a brown. My original point was that we needed two wingers who would stay wide and provide crosses for Carroll therefore downing and hendo. Can anyone tell me two players that were available at the same level of quality, who play the same way that would cost less because I can't think of any
Red rush

Look just dont read my posts if you dont like cursing another no name. I only do it when people are having a go at our great club. It aint for any effect and mind,i write as i feel and thats that, if i swear a lot thats the way it is. Go and moan about some other s**t rather then having a go at me for swearing. Liverpool are in my heart, i'll support them and defend them the way i like. f***in jog on and leave your name because the only posters anyone should take any notice of is someone who signs off. Its a shame when their is a positive post, a rare thing to be honest dont leave their names. Its only the so called fans slaggin the club that usually fail to leave one which is most these days. I'll support Liverpool till the day i die and if i swear while doing so, tough s**t. Least i dont come on hear for a popularity contest, i post as it comes out and the 6 stands for your i.q lad,not my age. Jonson6

Hi Ed, what are the chances of us singing these centre backs, Cahill, Dann, Shawcross, Hummels, Sakho? Cheers {Ed002's Note - 4, 7, 2, 1, 1}

=================

I think the question should've been :
what are the chances of us signing a centre back and I would've said 0.
Now that Enrique as good as in, Kenny can choose from Carra, Kelly, Skrtel and Agger as well as a backup of wilson and Soto.

04 Aug 2011 19:46:45
me thinks its due time that liverpool win some silverware this season enough of the excuses we have alot of good players in surraze ,carrol,gerrard ,adam,aquaman,merriles,henderson,downing,kyut,reina,agger ,johnson,carragher,and a couple of good youth players in our squad ,would love to see 2 more signings a left back and a quality cb and we are good 2 go heres hoping for great season go on the pool

04 Aug 2011 19:26:31
If we can afford to spend 20 mill on henderson and 20 mill on downing, then i dont see why we cant spend another 20 mill on Gary Cahill, a defender that will be sure to tighten things up at the back which we obviously need at the moment. yes i do think 20 mill is too much money for any player but that is how it is with any decent player these days

04 Aug 2011 19:15:51
hey eds, i have a question. well not really a question, ur opinion to be precise.

I noticed that Torres had the highest selling replica shirt in in the premier league for the last 2 years before Rooney overtook him this year.

Do u think that was because he played for Liverpool or just that Torres is the most popular player in the league.
Now that he has moved to Chelsea would people buy his shirt just as much as they did in the past?
And would Suarez and Carroll combined be able to sell the same number of shirts as he did?
I know its kind of a silly question but i'm really curious to know.
Thanks

S.G.L. {Ed002's Note - No idea, and it makes little difference to the clubs.}

guillem balague, tony barrett and torres' managment just stated that torres has not given any interviews lately. i now we all hate him for how he left, but he was always rather too quiet and not too loud when he spoke about us. i personally don't believe he really stated the things, at least not exactly like this. and, as tony barett says, none of us should really care.

Evening Ed002, I hope I find you well this evening and I hope you are coping with another day of repeated questions and ridiculous theories. With luck the abusive posts have abated. I'm not going to speculate or ask you to, I just thought I'd shoot the breeze with you. I hope you are lucky enough to be in one of the worlds beautiful cities this week while I am stuck in Tamworth at least until next week when I will be in my favourite place in the world,
Salcombe in Devon (seriously I'd rather be there with a line out than anywhere) but I'm sure it's nowhere near lively enough for you

Just thinking (yeah I know it's dangerous) but with all the talk of Cahill/Dann wouldn't it be a wiser move to take a look at Chris Samba? 6'4", athletic, not slow by any means, very rarely outmuscled, excellent in the air - a beast of a player. Could be got for £10m + a player on loan? PL experience and only 27. Ticks all the boxes except 'british'.

What are your thoughts......

Makes me laugh when chelski fans come on here and laugh about money being wasted.
Chelski only got to the top of the league when abromovich bought them.
So you bought your way to the top.
At least we are spending what we make ' there or there abouts'
So laugh all you want but without that money you are nothing.

Interesting 7 minutes reading the stats & facts in todays substantial profile of LFC in The Times - with full analysis explaining the rationale behind our plans...

Example;

Firstly - Henderson, Adam and Downing all played in excess of 34 games consistently last season in the Premership. This is something I missed and did not realise. Remember, the new LFC management uses a lot of very smart analysis and sports science models - developed from US sports (Moneyball - Michael Lewis and Billy Deane).

What's taking shape is a really consistent, strong engine room that bonds - and crucially - is as fit as a butchers dog to cope with the Prem. And unfortunately - a semi-fit Number 8 (who can now at last be properly looked after) and a few flakey midfielders who go missing do not cut it

(obviously, not referring to Lucas in this -as without him, god knows what would have happened to LFC over past 12 months..) -

A few other juicy numbers ..

Charlie Adam created a scoring chance one every 38 minutes. He scored 12 goals in just 34 games, playing for a team that was relegated. (SAF said his dead ball work alone was worth £10M - as his corners and free kicks crucified Man U's defence ...)

1300 of Jordan Henderson's 1400 passes last season - were completed, works out around 74% - which is pretty stunning. He makes 37 passes per game. Oh, and as an added fact -JH was noted by FIFA as one of the top thirteen young players in the world to watch in 2011. (nope, I never knew that either). Jordan Henderson is twenty one (yes, 21) years old. SG is 31.

Steward Downing produced 384 crosses in 38 games - or roughly 10 crosses per game.

Now, if only LFC had a lethal target man and a fizzy skillful & agrressive South American dude to pick up pieces and knock downs? ...

Oh, wait, hang on a minute ...

How does that old song go again?

'at the end of the storm, there's a golden sky
And the sweet, silver song of the lark'

To the Spam fans who have started to appear more and more on this site because one word, WORRIED. As much as we wanted Roy out and Rafa divided fans before he left, as any of our previous managers while Fergie has been in charge. At least we never resorted to spitting on our managers like Fergie was, a f***in disgrace by anyone's standards. By the way, k.k nearly got Fergie the chop because he wouldn't let him near the league title in the Kings first stint as manager, same at Blackburn. Given Newcastle wasn't K.K's finest hour as a manager, but it wasn't half as bad as folk try and make out. The King is back, Fergie's so called mind games will haunt his sorry asse if he trys it on with K.K. The most disgraceful single thing i seen in any game last season was when Fergie nudged Mike Phelan after Pea Brain had bagged and had a chuckle at Berbatov, that was below the belt even for him. Just stay on your own sites and if the worst happened{which 100% sure it wont} and we did have a poor season,the mandatory 3 points we take off ya every season at Anfield will make up for it . Chelsea have agreed a pre-contract deal with Sao Paulo's Lucas Piazon but the attacking midfielder will not arrive at Stamford Bridge until January 2012.
Piazon, 17, cannot join until he turns 18 next January, meaning the transfer window in the same month is the earliest he can complete his move.

Source: Several Websites including BBC (not in Rumours page)

Will be disappointed if we dont sign one world class player this transfer window I am happy with the singings so far just wish we had the Boll**cks to try for some more expressive talent such as Mata or Hazard......Not over yet i suppose {Ed002's Note - This is old news about Lucas.}

Regarding the Phil Thomson "Enrique to Liverpool, done deal" quote. Could anyone tell me why he made that comment and where did he get his info from ? Did he have inside knowledge ? and if he did, why didn't he keep his mouth shut till the deal was done ?

I honestly believe everything is slowly coming together as planned. Maybe it would have been nice for the excess to be shifted a little more quickly but with the likely imminent arrivals of Enrique, Dann or Cahill and possibly Park Chu-Young if Ngog is shifted, I truly believe believe we'll be strong contenders next season. Solid foundations both in terms of lowering the average age, improving the squad quality and strengthening the defense will put the club in a very good position to build from the following season, when hopefully a champions league contending team can be formed.

Top 4 is clearly the priority, but a good cup run would help to send out a message of intent, especially without Thursday night Europa league to distract.

Be happy that we have the right people in place to achieve this.

Liverpool FC to make an audacious bid for 40,000 Evertonians. B.K. will immediately rebuff the bid as everyone knows 1 Evertonian is worth 1,000,000 REDSH*TE

That's very,very,very funny. I guess we're planning to sign up everyone who goes to their first 4 matches to reach that total - strange that the 'People's club' can't fill their ground.

04 Aug 2011 15:55:13
Our transfer strategy is seen as focusing on EPL proven players, and this is clearly the most important consideration. However, and in the cases of Downing and Henderson the 'home grown' rule may well also have played a role (Adam/Doni are not home grown).

At present we have 12 players in the squad who are over 21, count as home grown, and have not been loaned out: Jones/Johnson/Henderson/Carroll/Cole/Gerrard/Downing/Spearing/Carragher/Kelly/Ayala/Insua. However 4 of these look likely to depart - Jones/Cole/Ayala/Insua. This would leave us at 8 - the minimum allowed if the club names a full 25 man squad.

Hopefully in the future we will be more successful than in the last decade in developing players from the youth team, and this will not be an issue.

04 Aug 2011 15:32:15
I for one am already looking forward to next season we will surprise a few people am sure of it. Is it just me or does any one else recall the new owners being prepared to increase the overall wage bill?, now i know they want value for money in that wage but I am still in the belief that there is still at least a LB, CD, and a surprise in store for people to, by surprise I dont mean hey im actually Kenny, but a signing that no one has forseen that will be the icing on the summer cake which is our transfer plans, I so hope am right, am not saying I know for a FACT this is what is happening just a hope with a bit of wishful thinking sprinkled for good measure. Thoughts lads?Eds any further news on Gerrards appendage Last I heard was of some good news?

Just wondering what is going on a newcastle:

They Sacked Chris Hughton. A person I respect.
Installed Yes Man:Alan Pardew
Sold Andy Carrol 35million to liverpool
Kevin Nolan West Ham
Joey Barton Released
Wayne Routledge Swansea
Jose Enrique liverpool £6million

in
Sylvain Marveaux Rennes Free
Demba Ba West Ham Free
Yohan Cabaye Lille 4.3m

I agree with the purchases. Think they are credible players. But letting Barton leave & Jose Enrique just seems wrong.

I don't understand where £35million went? {Ed002's Note - Agents fees, running the club, paying for policing, paying for insurance, floodlights ....}

From what I've seen he looks ok just nothing spectacular.

He is looking to add to the fund by selling:

Daniel Agger £10mi
Aquaman: £18m
Meireles raul: £18m

We seem to be stuggling to get money for these players. How come lfc are stuggling to sell players

I hope to see N'Gog leave and Shane Long to be bought

I also would love to see Aquilani stay as i think he is a quality player and will get his place before Charlie Adam, Poulsen and Spearing to be shifted on to allow more money for wages

A big question i would like to ask is, who with any decent reputation has said we are signing Enrique?it's absolute rubbish. I can say with confidence nobody knows who the (left back) wil be simple as it's simply media crap trying to get a response from the club. Thanks. A REAL RED.

Ha ha, another nameless wonder who's best is that i call Raul M, Raul M. Want me to tell you why i put Raul M, because i can ha ha ha. Albert makes Luis Garcia's tackling {a little ledgened in my eyes by the way} look like Vinnie Jones on speed. Oh and we've got Charlie to pick a pass. What part of you fans that are in love with his Albert do you not understand he does not want to play for Liverpool FC. Like i said yesterday, that was seen as a hanging offence in the past but seems not anymore. Raul M, i mean Jonson6

Not a rumor as such, but i'm pretty certain, we will get enrique, dann+cahill and a right winger and a striker before the end of the transfer window, also have a strong feeling that barton will join, its been a while since weve had that bite in the midfield, Mcmahon, ince, macherano, and gerrard was the best defensive midfielder in world before rafa took over when was being discribed as the next Keane and Viera, barton gets my thumbs up every day.

Do the Eds (or anyone else for that matter) know if Nani is getting booted out of Utd?

I say 'booted' - maybe 'up for sale' would be a better turn of phrase...

04 Aug 2011 12:19:18
Who do people think will be the 1st choice centre back pairing next season?
A new cb is likely to come in, carragher is a superb organiser and a legend of the club but is seemingly losing pace, skrtel isn't as good as our others but he didn't miss a second last season and that must count for something and agger is potentially world class- best ball playing centre back in the prem. If we get a left back in and johnson holds down the rb position kelly will also provide competition. There is always a chance we go with 3 centre backs but just suppose we play 2. I'd go with new cb+agger. This is providing that carragher is actually getting slower and it's not just a lack of sharpness that's really showing through so much in pre season.

04 Aug 2011 12:14:54
Anderlecht website confirms that Jovanovic has joined for 2 seasons pending a medical...I would expect Enrique now to join, and possibly Dann....depending then on the sale/release of Poulsen/Degen/El Zhar/Aquilani...we may still see either a right sided midfielder or striker come into the club.

EDs,

Please enlighten me on this closed door txfer policy.
As at the beginning of the current txfer window, I remember one of the Eds saying something about all our txfers this time to be done behind closed doors and as such we may not be able to know of any potential signing until the last minute. And also that all that will be known to the public will only be *rumors*.
Unfortunately, all rumors have turned out to be true, Henderson, Adam, Doni, Downing and now the potential signing of Enrique, showing how porous our closed door policy can be.
Since I do not live in England and do not have an understanding of the transfer system, would you kindly enlighten me on why it is not possible to finalize deals without public knowledge until it's time to 'showcase' such a player to the media.

O'seunfunmi 'Anfield Red' {Ed002's Note - Most transfers become common knowledge through there being many folks involved - clubs, agents etc.. Agents are constantly looking for more money for their players and will encourage other clubs to bid. Many clubs have owners who will happily talk to the press about transfers as well.}

im a liverpool fan, rarely get to games due to other commitments and various reasons but follow our team through thick & thin.
It annoys me to hear people say ' my source ' & ' you heard it here first '. nodoby knows nothing yet we all agrue and disagree with each other. everybody has their wish list and would love to see the worlds greatest players at Lfc but for me we have a very strong starting 11 and so far a better bench than last years abysmal squad.
cant people just be happy that we have gained new and exciting players to our team and support us through everything?
onto a diff matter, and im probably going to get slaughtered for this but i would take a massive gamble on joey barton and snap him up.

morn eds hope your well.loving my holiday'z cant stay away from are site great work on hear 24, 7...right ed this is how i see it big up to are owners for backing kenny, by the weekend we will have jose enrique 100%, dann or cahill or both but that's pushing it lol but u never know, seeing that are boy skrtel s out hs calf is not in a good way an that agger is prone to getting injured, in any case we need 2 new back line player's for sure.they could well be in the bag by thursday 70% but bolton are so hard to deal with, so im hoping dann for sure, the one i would like to see come in is shane long he has a bit about him would be great for us, im hoping we move players on 2 or 3 on the way but still need to get 3 off the books cole QPR, aquilani love him to stay but wants out.an nogo we need to recoup some money, just so we can pay the new players an keep the books just right are new owners like it money for player's no prob its wages they like to keep in check.I for 1 unlike some lfc fans am very happy with the players we have got in, just think back to when them cowboy's had us an if there were still at are club we would not be talking about PLAYER'S COMING IN RIGHT NOW FACT.from a very happy red.JAY ESSEX RED FOR LIFE RED TILL DEAD

04 Aug 2011 10:44:59
I beleive that KD has hinted that our summer spending is not over.and with enrique looking more and more likely i have sources that we will sell before we go in for a CB i.e cahill , dann.

04 Aug 2011 10:39:22
I think lfc need to sign a versatile winger who can also play as a striker before transfer window closes. Honda an obvious example. Apart from downing feel we dont have a quality winger who can consistenly supply carroll and suarez with quality ball atm.

04 Aug 2011 10:31:22

If it is expect to see us really step up our efforts for Dann.

Baines or enrqiue
Dann or cahill
And i would say thts job done

04 Aug 2011 09:50:10
Good morning LFC fans. Just a quick observation to get a bit of banter going.

Given all the speculation at the moment about the potential signing of a new centre half, I was wondering if we don't have better options at the club already. Surely a FIT Danny Agger alongside Carragher would be a perfect combination. I know Jamie can't play 40 games+ but I would still have him on the pitch solely for his inspirational performances, particularly when Stevie G can't play. I'd still have Agger ahead of Cahill and Jamie ahead of the likes of Scott Dann (who I believe is a fairly ordinary player). I also think Skrtel is a solid defender although he does need a bit of quality alongside him.
Carragher/Skrtel are in my opinion, better than Dann.
Agger is better than Cahill.
The problem is keeping Agger fit.

Thanks
The Ronoc

I hope we sign cahill not dann am not denying dann's quality but i think cahill is just an all round better defender who links up play more.

Hey Ed's i just wanted to say about the expectations of the club and that when use look at it the premier league is a league with a lot of great teams and in my opinion we can beat all those teams home and away its just the problem with us is that the mentality liverpool have is that they cant make it , when we vs teams at the bottom half to the middle we always buckle , that is what we have to change , i have been watching pre season and ok its pre season but i can see the same sort of horror defending as last season and the season before , we are always on the back foot always under pressure that is why we need an nemanja vidic /john terry style footballer that would be in control of the whole defence and wont let the oposition have any chance of scoring , id like to bring up 08/09 season and i have to admit that season by the christmas period i started to believe we could actually win the title , we were 5 points ahead of 2nd place we have just beaten newcastle 1-5 at st james , things were looking up after that same old liverpool getting goalless draws at home and away , losing to low teams and there you go title gone to the scum they level with us in titles makes me sick in the stomach , and after that season it has been a very painful slide for us but i say it changes this season , i hope king kenny looks at it game by game we should all focus on sunderland after that arsenal after that bolton and so on , we need an perfect start to the season exactly like 08/09 , forget 4th place we can win the league

That statement can mean one of two things:

2. whoever makes the claim believes it and therefore is an absolute idiot.

Just state your opinion fella, don't claim to be objective.

Hey guys, just wondering if any of you know what date Luis Suarez is scheduled to return to training? and obviously it's hard to say and depends what condition he comes back in but do you think he will play a part in the Sunderland game?

So regarding the long drawn out saga that is Aquilani, just been watching KK's press conference from today and he says that he is delighted to have the Aquaman as part of his squad.

Is he lying to us all?

Have we ever heard from Aqua's mouth that he really is desperate to move back to Italy?

Are we trying to up the price by saying we want to keep him?

Are any of the rumours of any of the interest from any of the Italian clubs true?

Will we really let ourselves get mugged by accepting nearly half of what we paid for him?

I just don't know what is going on anymore...... somebody please help... And not neccesarily the stubborn as a mule "he's going" Ed002, somebody with an objective point of view that can weigh things up in an unbiased manner would be good. (sorry Ed002 I just feel that you have had an underlying agenda all the way through this never ending story) {Ed002's Note - What underlying agenda? Idiot.}

---------------------------------------------------

I think you will find that Aqualina's agent has been trying to "hock him" to any Italian club that will have him. Is he talented? yes. Would it benefit LFC to keep him? no. He wants out of LFC & England as bad as poor people want out of the ghetto. He cannot stand the pace & power of the epl & would not go into a 50-50 challenge if his life depended on it. The reason no one will pay what LFC is asking for him is; everyone in Italian football knows he does not want to play in England, his wages are huge & quite frankly he is a t**t that has "allegedly" faked injuries to get out of training.

And as far as ed002's agenda - in my opinion her only agenda is to stop you idiots from continually asking the same stupid questions over & over again. I get tired of reading the posts, I cannot even fathom how much crap she has to put up with from people like you that ask for an opinion & then bash her for giving one.

HI Guys/gals , for FUN name
a team off ex liverpool players still
playing today, and how would your
team fare against the current squad.

04 Aug 2011 02:04:34
I am a utd fan and I would like to give you a neutral assessment of your squad...

Quality players - Gerrard, reina and suarez.

Players not fit to lace bebe's boots - johnson, aquilani (although I believe had he been given a good run in the team he would be a starter), ngog, insua, aurelio, kyriagkos, doni (7-1 vs roma 2007 quarter finals).

Players beyond their peak but were once great - carragher

Players you got absolutely shafted over their fees - carroll (35m), adam (10m), downing (20m), henderson (20m). 85m on these four players. Great business there liverpool. Carroll is worth 12m, henderson 8m, adam 6m and downing 10m in my view.

I must congratulate you on buying mediocre players. Oh yeh and how many league titles have you won?

Evening Eds,
It's starting to really p#ss me off now about Enrique waiting for a Champions League qualifying team to perhaps come in for him. I can understand his ambition but think we should bin him and get someone who wants to help us get CL football next year.
It's been a pleasure to see and hear Downing this week, professional and ambitious with us, just hope we get more like him and not some overrated shysters who slag off their club on twitter No class
And as for the Aqua slaggers, when will people understand, he couldn't settle, his agent is a knob, he wants to go. So what, players come and go so get over it.
Too many negative fake LFC fans on here who have played too much pro evo.
KK is back and we should be proud
