Ed001 have Liverpool held talk with Kevin De Bruyne? A work mate told me he saw it on sky?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think I remember Ed002 saying he is likely to go to Germany. Also mentioning Liverpool weren't an option. Going from memory as I can't find the origional post.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There have been no talks with KDB.}

Salah to sign in the next 504 hours.

Eds I see that Tello is still Lear favourite to sign with us with at odds of 1/3 . I know it's Sky and yes I know odds can be way off but surely it means something? I thought we had put these rumours to bed again for another transfer window at least?.

Hi eds,
I've noticed a couple of people are assuming that Brendan Rodgers not giving the latest press conference because he is off tying up a deal to bring in a player.
Brendan has been punished by the fa today so is it not more likely that he was at a hearing with the fa to examine himself and then receive his punishment? Or does he not have to be there for that to happen?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

BR only just been charged, no hearing or punishment yet. Hope he's busy tying up a move for somebody good!

Agree0 Disagree0

His hearing was not today, he avoided the press conference so the questions were not about him, but the team.

Good afternoon Eds, how are you spending your Friday evening? Relaxing I hope and ready for the onslaught of questions once everyone has had a few beverages?

What's your thoughts this evening please.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - This evening has been spent with friends and has been pretty nifty.}

04 Jan 2014 10:06:03
Would love to know what a 'nifty' evening with Ed002 is like.
It's either mowing down cats in a people carrier or some serious S+M!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - We went for cocktails.}

So what is the cocktail of choice for a middle aged (im being nice) American in Britain? Maybe something exotic?

Quick question eds and anyone else around, what's your opinion of how Borini is doing so far on his loan spell at Sunderland, and do you think he has a future with us after this season? Everytime I've got round to watching him I've been relatively impressed by his general play, but he does seem to be struggling for goals a little. If he could add a reasonable number before the end of the season, I'd think he'd certainly have a spot in our squad next season.
Cheers as always.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Borini will want a discussion and will want a move if game time will not be available.}

Hi Eds, happy new year

These's been some rumours going around about the potential "agreement" around Derby's Will Hughes, I seem to remember Rogers saying that he wasn't interested in him back in November, can you tell me if his mind has been changed and could you let us know how far the Will Hughes 'deal' is at

I personaly would love to see him at the club, possiable the best option being a loan-back to Derby

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Not yet but I think a viable option still.}

Ed001 ed002 is he ready for now

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would think next season.}

Probably loan him back to them like zaha and palace help him get them up and let him continue to improve

Not sure if the rumor was true that we were looking at Lacina Traore, but ESPN is reporting he will sign a 5yr deal with Monaco and then loan to West Ham.

I don't think his style would fit with us, but was he ever really a target?

Happy New Year eds and colonial cousins!

Reds or ed1 : I remember a kid from dublin signing last year or the year before, can't remember his name - any info orvnews on his progress?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm guessing your talking about O'Hanlon that signed from St.Kevins Boys? I know he's playing for the u18s and he scored a couple of weeks back, not sure how exactly he's playing though. I reckon he'll do well though, I'm obviously from Dublin and I know a lad that played with him, and he said he was too good for Kevin's! And Kevin's were top of the Premier Division when he signed. I know his manager was organising a trial with Southampton, but then he was spotted by Liverpool. They have high hopes for him, and said they expect him to be part of a good crop of young Irish talent coming through along with the likes of Jack Grealish and possibly even Jon Flanagan if he declares for Ireland. Not sure how well he's got on since he arrived on Merseyside, but at Kevin's he was a bright talent. Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Agree0 Disagree0

He was originially signed as a left back, but has played more as a winger in some games and more centrally as the playmaker in others this season and has impressed. He looks a stand out talent in his age group.

Thanks for the info.

LFC Top Transfer Targets 2014

1) Lucas Moura
2) Javier Pastore
3) Diego Capel
4) Arda Turan
5) Blaise Matuidi
6) Yann M'Villa
7) Will Hughes

Anyone think this could be true? Pulled it off some website

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haha not a chance in hell

Agree0 Disagree0

Id stop 'pulling it off' on certain websites.

Am probably in the minority, but I wouldn't be too fussed if we didn't buy anyone in January. Personally I believe that we will get a top 4 finish with our current squad of players. If we do buy anyone, I hope they are top drawer and capable of going straight in to the first team - eg Costa or Salah. If we can't get a player of that calibre just wait till the summer to get them when hopefully we will have the lure of the CL.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Was thinking the apart from a decent full back I reckon our midfield o's strong could do with someone who can compete with a sas and we could be one of the best in the league

A quick question for Ed001 if you've got the time please mate (other opinions also welcome!)

Do you think we could fit Coutinho, Suso and Teixiera (when both are ready) in the same team, along with Suarez and Sturridge?

If so, how would you do it?

The reason I ask is that I think the movement, creativity and technique they possess individually could *potentially* be pure football alchemy if combined.

Or would it leave us too short defensively?

Be interested to hear what you think.

Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Suso is happy to get stuck in and can play as a central midfielder, behind the other 4. If you play them as a front 4, with freedom to roam out wide, allowing them to interchange and just go where the space is, I think they would be fine in attacking situations. Suso and Suarez can be relied upon to put themselves about and press the opposition, so I would have no worries about them defensively either. Sturridge has been a willing worker for us as well, often chasing back to cover gaps when others have got forward and left our flanks exposed. So I would also have no real fear about him. It is Coutinho that worries me, he does fill in space, but his pressing and tracking runs leaves a lot to be desired. I suppose you can cope if it was just him, but you can't expect the 2 strikers to do more than a little bit of covering and pressing the back line, that would leave us very open out wide. I would say it comes down to a lack of balance, there just isn't enough defensive responsibility between them, we would end up conceding 5 while scoring 3 each game. It is the kind of thing you do when behind in the last 5 minutes of a must win game.}

Great reply, thanks Ed001 :)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2014 23:54:28
A bit like man city then, scoring 5 conceeding 3, that will do 4 me!

Brendan Rodgers being charged and Moyes' comments not even being reviewed is a joke. Now I always laughed at people that said FA show bias towards United, and I still maintain that belief, but for Rodgers to be charged and Moyes not is an absolute joke! I mean come on, surely Moyes' comments were worse? Rodgers questioned the decisions made by the ref and questioned why a Manchester-based referee was appointed to take charge of a game involving a Manchester club. And the FA highlighted Rodgers use of the word "horrendous". Moyes says that its "scandalous" not to give a penalty, and says whoever employs the referee's has to have a serious look at themselves. Surely that's more disrespectful and more of an "attack" on the referee than Rodgers? Not being bitter, not showing bias, just posing a valid point. I think both managers are justified in their claims and the FA do have to look at these decisions but how can you charge one and not the other? Am I missing something? Is there a reason for this? I'm sorry if I'm missing something but if somebody could explain I'd be very grateful.
Cheers,
ROI.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe the Fa thought Rodgers was questioning the integrity of the ref and Moyes was only questioning the decisions of the ref?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well saying that the person who employs these referees should have a look at their decision surely is worse? I mean Rodgers questioned the decisions and location of the ref, Moyes questioned the ref and the person who employs the ref. Like I said I think both are right, but Rodgers was charged mainly for questioning the referee's "horrendous" performance, whereas Moyes gets away with practically the same statement just with more aggression. I mean Moyes' comments were at least as bad, if not worse than Moyes.

Something tells me he wasn't charged because they feel he's right, and if that's the case the FA owe an apology to every other manager in the country who has been charged under similar circumstances. I'm sure many people are wondering why as well, including one or two managers.

I do agree with David Moyes though, the referee's are being blindly back by the FA, wrong or not. If a manager says one word about the referee now they're charged, and its becoming a joke at this stage.
Sorry for the long posts, just have to wonder what the reasoning is behind this decision!
Cheers,

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes done hiels a week later give them a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Managers must appreciate that as soon as they question the FA or anyone in authority they are setting themselves up to pay for the First Class train travel, Five Star hotels and chauffeur driven cars used by these people. At the same time those in authority can maintain their silence and be unaccountable to us fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes dezyboy I know that but it was all over the internet yesterday morning that there would be no further action against Moyes. Not sure if they'll for some reason change there mind but from what I read he's got away with it.

We should learn, when we question referee's, u can be sure the next few games, who ever the ref is, we will get bad decisions, just think how roberto martinez teams always get away with bad tackles, and get good/right calls, he's clever, he always saying how hard the refs job is and so on, mr nice guy is clever, brendan take note: flattery gets u every where! Start bringing apples to the refs, and watch the difference

As predicted Brendan has been charged with highlighting the incompetence of a certain Lee Mason and his officials vs Man City. I disagree that Mason was favouring City due to being from Greater Manchester but more to do with the fact that he and his linesman couldn't handle the pressure of that game. He should be dropped down to lower league football but that would mean that the old farts at the FA have to do something that they cannot attach a fine to for their Christmas party.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Jan 2014 18:01:57
Ed fellow reds, surprise surprise BR gets charged for comments made about poor refs decisions, hope there fair when dishing out fines . remembering mr moyes see the Ashley young dive as worst tackle ever seen .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Jan 2014 18:01:17
Ed001, clearly I am a little bias but surely Rodgers getting fined and Moyes getting away with his comments is pretty ridiculous. I'm not saying Rodgers shouldn't be fined because at the end of the day, he did question the integrity of the officials. However, Moyes saying "I find it incredible, but the people who employ the referees are going to have to look at that and see if they get that right" is doing exactly the same thing? My apologies if I am wide of the mark here.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - has Moyes got away with it? I thought they just hadn't got round to looking at his comments yet. Rodgers should have spoken out before the match, but we can't really complain, however right he is, about him getting into trouble. What Moyes said is, at the very least, as bad, and he deserves punishment too, though they are unconnected really and should be viewed as two isolated incidents.}

I'm surprised they haven't banned Suarez for it. Seriously though, BR was absolutely correct,, we got nothing on the day and where blatantly robbed by the officials. He had to stand up for the club, you can't just people in life walk all over you and not speak up. There should've been an investigation against the referees IMO. Blatant Bias decisions on the day, take the punishment and move on BR

Agree0 Disagree0

I assume he got away with it as the BBC report said:

"But it was the Young decision - Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood admitted he also thought it was a penalty - that most infuriated Moyes, who will not be charged for his comments."

Although, I guess that doesn't confirm my assumption. I'd be livid if he got away with it

Agree0 Disagree0

Young should just get a yellow at every kick off, because you just know 90per cent of the free kicks he gets will be dives. Saves so much stress, then when he gets caught doing it, he'll be offski. Simples.

Rossiter is starting on Sunday.
And does anyone know why Rodgers didn't take the press con this afternoon?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Jan 2014 17:47:38
Brendan Rodgers had been charged by the FA for questioning the integrity of a match official and implying bias, based on the remarks made about the place of birth of a referee.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A no brainier for me. Rodgers was guilty of questioning the referees' integrity and should have remained silent. He has only brought this upon himself and should now be dignified in his response (as should all of yous). Just compare the reason and sense spoken by Roberto Martinez in press interviews and you'll see the difference in the two managers

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't read twitter mate just read stories off of www.newsnow.co.uk

Agree0 Disagree0

It's pretty simple really: journalists on newsnow write the stories they think you want to read, since they get paid by advertisers per click. The eds on this site give facts and opinion based on their experience. So, for fun read newsnow; for facts, stick to this site.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There are no journalists on "Newsnow" - it is simply a news feed.}

Yes. Sorry. *many freelance journalists' articles that are summarised on the newsnow feed. But newspapers do it too. If a tabloid thinks there's a story that people will pay to read, they'll write it!

I've not seen it yet so I thought I'd ask,, Eds is Torres coming back? Ha we appreciate all the hard work at Crazy season.
I think we need full backs myself,, Flanno in my opinion being the best we've got. Johnson Enrique Sisokho Kelly. There not good enough

Believable0 Unbelievable0

In my opinion:
- Sell Johnson
- Send Cissokho back to Valencia
- Send Kelly out on loan
- keep Enrique

- Bring in Montoya
- Bring in Coentrao

RB - Montoya, Flanagan, McLaughlin
LB - Coentrao, Enrique, Smith

Red Rum

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2014 18:55:07
I don't know what Enrique's done to people, I think he's good enough. If everyone was fit, I'd play him at LB with Flanno at RB.

Jonno's not having a good season at all, and he's not getting any younger and may still be one of our highest paid players, so it might be time to move him on.

Cissokho's not dreadful, but he seems awfully one dimensional going forward and isn't really anything above average defensively. Barring a major upturn in form, I don't see him staying.

Flanno's looking good, but let's not forget what happened to Insua when he went from starting a dozen games to being first choice and having to start 50. Could easily happen to Flanno, so I don't think we should ask him to be first choice next year.

I think Kelly will end up being a "what could've been" story because of his injury record.

tl;dr, I'd look to sell Jonno, and buy a first team right back. And if we could get a suitable understudy to Enrique at left back, buy him. If not just use Robinson when he comes back.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Insua had a problem mate, it was simply his diet that caused his form to dip. He was overweight and lost his pace due to it.}

03 Jan 2014 19:12:38
Kelly is quality, do you even remember him before he was injured? Out of sight out of mind!

Agree0 Disagree0

Abo,, I like Kelly. He's not the most technicaly gifted player, but I love seeing him overlap and gallop down the wing, But he's always injured mate. Liability infact. So IMO we need to let go and get some full backs in. From what I remember he's a centre half anyway, but yeh he's injured a hell of a lot and I'd let him go

Can any of the Eds clear this up for me please. Seeing plenty of people on here saying one in one out, Sterling and Salah. Even if we do sign Salah we surley would not loan out Sterling would we? It is total rubish is'nt it?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - See previous answers.}

Sterling will not be leaving, regardless of who joins. Why would we loan out one of our best players?

Besides, Colin Pascoe has just said he "wont be going anywhere".

Red Rum

Agree0 Disagree0

Notwithstanding the marked improvement in his play this season, the reality is, Sterling is not yet first team material. at least for a team that is challenging for the top spots.

He can run like the wind and does well for the first 75% of any given run but, all too often, at the critical moment, he is guilty of a poor touch, a poor decision or he just flat runs out of ideas. He reminds me of Aaron Lennon and Theo Walcott a few years back. Where Lennon has matured and made progress, Walcott remains severely over-rated--time will tell as to how Sterling fares.

Sterling is still a work in progress--no shame in that. He is so young and in the developmental stage of his career. He would benefit immensely from regular play in a side where every missed pass or poor decision does not carry with it such big implications as it currently does with our Reds.

My two cents!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey Red Not Blue,

Just want to pick up on something you said, hope you take it in the spirit that its intended :)

"Where Lennon has matured and made progress, Walcott remains severely over-rated."

For me, it's a big misnomer that Walcott has no end product, and the stats below show he has been markedly more effective than Lennon in the past 3 full seasons and so far this year.

P=Played
G=Goals
A=Assists

Lennon

2013/14 P12 G1 A0 (So far)
2012/13 P43 G4 A10
2011/12 P26 G4 A6
2010/11 P36 G3 A7

117 Games
12 Goals (1 every 9.75 Games)
23 Assists (1 every 5.08 Games)

Walcott

2013/14 P17 G7 A5
2012/13 P33 G22 A16
2011/12 P45 G9 A11
2010/11 P33 G13 A12

128 Games
53 Goals (1 every 2.41 Games)
44 Assists (1 every 2.9 Games)

I think the figures speak for themselves!

Not having a dig RNB, just ticks me off when people don't recognise that Walcott is a pretty effective footballer, and one that I certainly wouldn't mind seeing grace the turf at Anfield.

I'm interested to know the names of any recent Liverpool players that have been loaned out, then returned, and were successful with us?

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Danny Murphy was loaned out to Crewe

Agree0 Disagree0

I would say controversially mention Jonjo Shelvey's loan to Blackpool, when he came back he played his part and a season later he was a key performer in Uefa scoring 4 goals in 10 games. But obviously he's been sold since, so it's subjective.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martin Kelly was loaned out. I would say he was pretty successful when he returned before he got injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2014 18:49:44
I would suggest our lack of 'successful' loans over the last decade is representative of the fact that up until the last 2 years we haven't produced young players good enough for the Premier League, rather than an indictment of the loan system in general.

People we loaned out have usually been senior players we're looking to get rid of (Voronin, Aquilani, Joe Cole, Carroll, Reina) but couldn't find a permanent deal for, so obviously they're very unlikely to come back and be brilliant. Or kids that were never going to be quite good enough for us, like Hamill, Guthrie etc.

I have much higher hopes for the likes of Robinson, Suso and Wisdom, who I think are good enough.

Not posted in a while, just like to say to people that surely FSG have earned peoples respect as owners by now and proved they will dig deep to help our club grow, any one in doubt just needs to look at the new contract they agreed to fund for Suarez, if a player is worth the money they will pay,
I'm loving the way BR has us playing I'm not blind there are still areas where there needs to be work done but we are fourth and have competed better in 95% of our games than I have seen for a long time.
There are players that is love to see grace our shirt, players that I would break the bank for, but I'm glad that FSG have finally put a system in place to get us going towards a financially stable platform and unwilling to pay over the odds or let our players go on the cheap.
Can't wait to see who we get in the coming months, will keep readin the eds responses to get an early indication.
Expect to read plenty of RTP, RTFP in the coming weeks.
Sit back be patient and enjoy the rest of the window.

If we manage to purchase a winger and then decide to loan Sterling out I will eat my hat! We need him for a top 4 push!

1 in 1 out won't help us.

Man City and Chelsea are favourites for the league due to their great squad depth and quality.

I'm hoping it's lazy, speculative journalism.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Jan 2014 13:10:31
After reading Sterling would be loaned out if we get Salah.

Why when we have a thin squad already would we get one in and loan one out?

Salah would need time to adapt so would make more sense to keem Raheem.

Not going to lie, thinking of taking a hiatus from the site until the end of the transfer window. It's 3 days in and people are already moaning about signings. BE PATIENT. It's ridiculous how some of you go on when we haven't signed anyone within 3 hours of the window opening.

Seriously, some days I really don't know how you get through the days without screaming or shutting the site down.

For goodness sakes those abusive Reds, grow up and stop abusing people! You make good, honest fans, players, and everyone associated with our great club very ashamed at times.

Boys I don't belive its Liverpool supporters sending these abusive messages I belive its jelly legs from other teams every other team every other player knows. once we lift the curse and win the leauge and the trophy is back with its righfull owners times will come back and once again we will be the team we once was unstopable I belive and I know everyone els dose . I had us winning the leauge befor the season started and I mae my statment . what I didn't expect was 3 cb didn't expect it didn't like it made me feel sick but rogers choice I trust him he seen it wasnt good and reverted back all plaudits go to br because if u don't keep trying u don't have success . ill admit I got it wrong thorght we would stay top for the full season I say what I see its what I belive . and for one minute I can't belive any Liverpool fan can be against what's happening again to are great club . so its confirmed its jelly legs because let's face it deep down everyone knows we are here . here to fight till the end regardless of the betting scandal going on in the bpl right now witch will happen 100% when it happend in italy they won the world cup just sayin onwards and upwards my lfc family

Hey Eds,
Any idea on if we are looking to strengthen our midfield? We are very short in that area given Allen's injury, Henderson playing through an injury as well as Gerrard just recovering and Lucas being the only DM. If so, do you know who we might be looking at? Do you also think they'll be signing in this window? Cheers.
Jimmy.

I am getting sick of seeing people on here posting that we don't have much transfer cash to spend in this window.
Can we just put this to bed once and for all.
At the end of the August transfer window we were very close to the signing of Willian before Spurs came in late and then Chelsea even later which suggests our American owners were willing at the close of the transfer window to pump some £25mill plus into a player for our team.
It is obvious to any one who follows this club that the American owners are willing to support BR In the transfer market. If a player becomes available and the price is right I am more than confident that we will be in there pitching to purchase said player with the full backing of FSG.
Lets stop all this nonsense that there is little money in the pot. The owners have not been short of backing BR in the transfer windows but, after shelling out untold stupid amounts on previous players they now are looking not only for value for money but also players with the desire and will to play for the club rather than the amount they can put in there bank balance.

Will be interesting to see what team BR selects v Oldham.

After the busy period some of our players looked tired and in need of a rest, Suarez to name one.

It would be nice to see others get there chance but I don't think we can as our squad is so weak other than at the back, plus we have no other forward to come in for Suarez.

It's the FA cup and if we play like we have been we will have a great chance to win.

BR is going to have his work cutout as many will moan if we play a weaker side and go out, but if we win with our strongest side will main we didn't rest players :-)

Shows how thin our squad is.

Bit belated but happy new year to you all.
Would like to say good luck to Adam Morgan who has signed for Yeovil on a permanent contract.
Bit uneasy reading that if we get Salah then Sterling out on loan. We should have a squad in depth not one in one out. Thought the idea was to have a stronger squad with options on the bench to push for top 4.
Think BR and FSG are doing a great job and the future is looking good.
Thanks Eds for all your insider knowledge and banter and long may it continue into 2014.

If we send out Sterling on loan as well we will have four players loaned out (Borini, Assaidi, Suso and Sterling) who are all performing better than the attacker we loaned in (Moses).

Seriously hope we are not that dense. If Moses just put in some bloody effort he'd be the 3rd best forward in the squad being SAS. He just seems unwilling to try though, and keeps making silly mistakes/poor decisions due to his lack of concentration.

I agree mate but sterling sitting on the bench won't develop. If we get salah then send he out with a recall clause or could we recall assaidi

eds on the subject off lfc not complying with the new fa rule I kind off agree with what you are saying. no champions league football which let's be honest is a huge income for a side that has not had that for some time now. but should lfc comply as after all no champions league football. so the rule is not a problem as off yet but if we was to make the top four surly with the revenue from tv rights and the reward the club would get for the top four spot I just can't see it being an issue for us. money has not been thrown around like certain clubs (cough cough chelsea and city) you say chelsea are not in any danger? I have seen a lot off news regarding this. the chelsea directors claim it is something they feel will be ok and they can't see there being a problem? I don't want to start a debate but I do feel chelsea will be in bother if they spend in this window. 50m losses plus what they spend in this window. I can only imagine its half the reson why they wan't mata out too produce a few quid for a signing maybe?

Jason Cundy is a classless has-been.

Is this beaut still on ?

Any presenter on LFC TV would never act in such a unprofessional, immature most juvenile way.

I'm not on twitter (thank God), but if you can't stand the heat divvy - get out of it!

Who's the "most bitter, twisted, bitchy and spiteful ones"?

He is!

See for yourselves fellow reds as he's fallen for it hook line and sinker.

I suggest he spends more time concentrating on his 'profession' instead of in front of the mirror.

What does everyone think of the rumours concerning Glen Johnson?
With only 18 month's left on his contract it is reported he is considering his options after not being offered an increase in his wage in his latest contract discussions.
He seems to have been out of form as of late and maybe he is allowing these issue's to play on his mind on-field as he certainly has not performed to his usual high standards over the holiday period.
What do LFC fans think?
Should we pay up and keep him or sell him and look for a cheaper alternative?
It is reported Arsenal are monitoring the situation and would be willing to make an offer if a price for the England international can be negotiated.

I'd sell him while he still has value over the summer. I think the best of him has come and gone for our club and we need to find a suitable replacement. I'm probably a bit biased though as I've never rated GJ and actually get frustrated week in week out with his performances (or lack there of).

Has Marc Bartra signed a new contract yet at Barcelona Eds? And if not is there anything imminent about to happen?
I know his contract was up in the summer and would be competition with Lucas Levia for the DM role where he has covered for Barca while Mascherano was injured although his preferred position is CB. If Agger where to go with both Napoli and Barcelona showing interest would he be worth looking at?
I have read that Barcelona are hopeful of getting him to sign a new deal but I cannot find anything regards what stage they are at.
Would be an excellent signing on a free don't you think?

Happy New Year Ed's and Reds and let's hope were all smiling when we play Newcastle on the last day of the season. Two things Malak must be about to combust if the Salah rumours are true, his wish may be coming to fruition. I don't think there will be a spare kleenex in the malak household if Salah signs on the dotted line(and I don't mean tears of joy either lol) Also Eds have we any chance of getting John Guidetti on loan from City? He looked sensational on loan at Feyenoord a couple of seasons ago. A massive upgrade on Moses and Aspas. Speaking of Moses is there anyway we can send him back to Chelsea before the end of the season?

Eds would it be a good Idea to post a table of Liverpool targets on the page during transfer windows so that you don't keep getting the same questions over and over again from people that do not read all of the posts? One that follows you down the page, on the right, as you scroll perhaps, Just a thought. example

Liverpool interest
. Messi
. Ronaldo
. Hughes
. Mata
. Neymar

Anyway keep up the sterling work ;)

My friend understands Arabic and translated for me it summarizes as: Mohamed Salah will be in Liverpool, we don't know when. I expect they mean Salah is physically due in Liverpool for a time they are unaware of. So whenn ssn say "ssn understand that blah blah blah" this is Egyptian sports news "understanding" that Salah is due in Liverpool. I don't know if it's true or not but that's what I know.
