My team v fulham
Reina
Johnson agger skrtle enrique
Maxi spearing Adam downing
Suarez Bellamy

Reason being that maxi, downing, suarez and Bellamy can all interchange and would result in a great counter attack.

I Would only buy 2 players if I were manager that I think would be realistic and these are Doyle and Johnson if we could get them for 30 mill .

Reina
Johnson agger Kelly enrique
Johnson Lucas Adam downing
Suarez doyle

Gerrard
Carroll
Maxi
Dirk
Skrtle
Carra
Coates
Bellamy
Flanno
Henderson

I think would be a quality team after Jan transfer window. Gerrard if fit would have to start somewere but only if fit

Proud lfc fan stuts1

You can tell its getting closer to the window..

Stu.

Doyle... 1 question.....WHY.....

RED4lifeNOTjust4XMAS

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Henderson Spearing Adam
Maxi Suarez Bellamy

We playing away mate.

All of our competitors have won today which means we will lose on Monday. Always happens!

Good point. We could rest the first team then and give some of the young lads a run out. Anyone thinking of travelling down for the game, don't bother! Ha ha.

I met a fairy today who granted me one wish. "I want to live forever," I said.
"Sorry," said the fairy, "I'm not allowed to grant wishes like that."
"Fine," I said, "I want to die when liverpool win the premier league."
"You crafty ****!" said the fairy.

keightley!

Concentrate on your own team which is going down the drain.

R.I.P United.

Tom.

Now that is funny lads u have to admit.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

Heard it the other day but with Everton and a European cup.
Gotta admit it's a good'n

KT!

I think keightley knows and meets a lot of fairies...

Are you the fairy Keightley

IF we look to get a defensive midfielder in during the january window - what about Mascherano back on loan?

No, just no.
He refused to play 2 hours before a game, i don't care at how he dedicated the champions league win over United to us. He was just trying to make himself less of a ****.
In my eyes he's never welcome back and i've lost all respect for him.

KT!

He starts for Barca so don't think so

Have not watched Mascherano play for Barca

However when he played for Liverpool he was very limited good in the tackle yes but he mainly played the ball sideways or backways. His long passes rarely found a Liverpool player, why would anyone want him back?

Mascherano shouold have been swapped for Balloteli when inter were interested in
Mascherano and he wanted to leave

Borrocktelli is such an ar$e. The way he "celebrates" is just pathetic, as if he is a god. The arrogance of the kid is just unreal, he is an accident waiting to happen again & a carp role model. So glad we don't have anyone like that.

I think the accident already happened. Dropped on his head at birth.

Anything Regarding Gaston Ramirez ? {Ed002's Note - Read the earlier posts please.}

03 Dec 2011 20:55:04
L. Diarra (loan)
Luuk de jong
Maybe g. Ramirez

Ed,

No criticism here.

I read an article today on the fact that Fergie cant spot a midfielder.Hence, just an honest question.

Blind Spots :

Rafa -> Fullbacks

Wenger -> Goalkeeper (Took him 7-8 yrs to replace Seaman though I agree Lehmann was a very good keeper but he had form issues while at Highbury apart from the 2006 season when he was very good)

Fergie -> Central Midfielders

So the question dating back to when Kenny was a manager at Anfield (1st time), Blackburn and Newcastle, does he have a blind spot for a certain postion in the field?

Through his famed history I know that he spots the forwards and wingers very well....

LiverBird {Ed002's Note - I'll leave it to the community to discuss this rather bizarre matter.}

I would argue that fergie can't spot a player at all

Chris in Tamworth

As a Liverpool fan, I would agree with you on that :)

LiverBird

Come on chris you know thats not true. I hate the man but he has a decent eye for a player.Javier Hernadandez for instance.Only paid 6 million for him.Now thats a great buy.Okay not all his signings have been the best but we all make mistakes.

Danny

Ok Danny give me another

Chris in Tamworth

Rafa bought arbeloa aurelio and Johnson. All are quality fullbacks. Degen, dossena etc are obviously not so maybe blind spot is a bit harsh but I see your point

Ronaldo, Tevez, Nani....

Phil jones,chris smalling rooney.

Danny

Ronaldo, Tevez, Nani? Oh yeah cos nobody had heard of them had they? Ronaldo was widely recognised as one of europes finest young talents so I wouldn't call that spotting a player. Tevez? Showed his talents in the premiership before fergie bought him so again, hardly spotting a player.
However let's assume I give you those 2 plus Nani and Hernandez I still only make that 4 in 25 years

Chris in Tamworth

Rooney, don't be ridiculous that was the least "spotting of a player" as there can be. Phil Jones? The same Phil Jones that was wanted by half the premiership? I'll give you Smalling he does look quality.

Chris in Tamworth

We turned down ronaldo

What about bebe? lol
He wasn't young when united signed him but van der sar was a good signing for the club.

Danny

I think the phrase "ability to spot a player" means something different to me than it seems to to you so we'll have to agree to disagree

Chris in Tamworth

Lets re phrase that we didn't turn down Ronaldo in fact Rick Parry turned him down just like he did with Villa , Vidic , Malouda and countless others because he thought the clubs we're asking for "too" much.

Tom.

Yeah I understand what you mean chris.But i think regardless of age or price if you buy a player and they perform well for the club for a number of years that is the ability to spot a good player.

Danny

If Barcelona , Madrid , Liverpool , Milan etc are all looking at the player and then you go and sign the player it's hardly spotting a player.

Your just using other clubs scouting information to your advantage.

Tom.

RAFA was about to buy dani alves but thr deal couldn't go through because of financial problems.But certainly he knew how to spot a fullback

Rafa spotted a good full back after how many attempts?

I would believe spotting a player may also include an understanding/appreciation of the work being put in by the current player.....

He let Riise, Arbeloa go when both were doing a good job......

He bought Kronkamp too

LiverBird {Ed001's Note - to be fair Arbeloa wanted to go, Rafa actually convinced him to stay a year longer than he wanted to.}

Just a thought but Martin Kelly started as a centre midfielder, great in the tackle! Do you think kenny would be willing to take a chance and give him a little cameo spot while Lucas is sadly out! I personally would be interested to see it... Preferably as part of a 4-5-1 or a 4-3-3... Anyone else think its worth a shot!

Danski

Kelly started as a central defender.

Jay spearing!

kt!

Has anyone thought about playing Pepe Riena in the defensive midfielder position. He has fantastic passing abilities and in his last few games he has shown his tackling abilities!

Seriously people, do people really have that little faith in Spearing and Henderson that they would rather see Carragher, Kelly or Coates play the CDM position?

JRG

I would like to think if Kenny was thinking this, then he would sub spearing at the 60min mark for Kelly... If we were winning comfortably that is...

Myk

Kelly did start as a central midfielder he said as much in the Liverpool Echo a couple of days ago....

CM? What when he was 9 and playing in the park? He cannot play CM now. No way.

03 Dec 2011 18:46:57
Spearo can do holding job.IF he"sits",and STAYS focused.Leavind Adam as"link"player.IE>one goes,one sits.Mr.Whinge

Why do we need a holding midfielder? Adam and Hendo in cm. Seems simple enough. We will score more goals, which is our problem previously having a 5 man defence.

Agree totally, without the hoofer in the starting line up our back 4 is now very mobile so in my opinion a holding/defensive midfielder is not necessary as long as both track back and cover when one goes forward, i still think we play to defensively, we need to be going out scoring teams to death
Jaydee YNWA

03 Dec 2011 18:36:18
Currently ours is the best defense in the premier league
Cheers
Y.N.W.A

Thats all good mate but we want the 3 points aswel as good defensive records.RedTurk

Positive as always RedTurk!
Keep it up you're a true inspiration to all fans. *ScarcasticSmiley*

KT!

You start with defense, then address other areas, I think next season we'll be an absolute machine

Redturk is a brain donor...

03 Dec 2011 18:27:56
Look,Lucas awful.But happens,sadly.He'll get the best treatment.But its why we have squad.Weve all covered that topic.GOT to drive on.Done great lately.Spearo must sit,stay disciplined.Let Adam be"LINK".GOT to win!and well capable of doing so.Do for selves,club,and Lucas-if needs be.Come on redmen!Mr.Whinge

03 Dec 2011 17:04:27
please post in rumours-

not linking us to anyone in particular, but we can sign upto 6 players in january over 21, with 19 of a maximum 25 payers registered for the premier league.

chealsea have 23, City 24, man utd 22 and spurs 25, so will have to sell before buying in Jan.

Kelly, henderson and coates are all 20 at the start of year and are already 21 now. So, all the 3 will be added to the list after new year and 19 will be 22 once the winter transfer window is completed provided no one leaves or arrives.

But i would agree we should buy at least one striker who can score like 8 out of 10 opportunities and also who is versatile enough to play on right and then summer we can go for right winger too.

Abhi

@Abhi,

If such a forward does indeed exist at the moment, I am damn sure that the likes of ManCity,ManU, Chelsea will be there before us......

LiverBird

@LiverBird

I agree with u, but they just can't buy every striker in the world and also its time we can compete and knock the f*** out of those scum bags to prove that we are top dogs in England.

Abhi

03 Dec 2011 16:32:12
victor moses very good quick player in a very poor team, snap him up in january kenny.RedTurk

Seriously? Is it a case of motd fever

I dont know mate but he seems good im sure the liverpool scouts will know better then me though. RedTurk

Indeed they probably do, hence no interest! Still a change from hazard lavezzi etc!

Did RedTurk actually say something positive about a player. Oh wait a minute its only Liverpool players your rip on,thought it was odd. Please,from you calling me a twit earlier really upset my dogs when they read that. You've come out with some belter's today. Rip on a player,but that's a given with your posts. Then because i've never read anything ever from you start a positive thread about anything to do with ,ever i stick my twit of a nose in then you call me a twit of all names for not signing off when i did clear as day i get called a twit,du try reading the whole post before going off on one and start calling people twits. For missing that,you should be called a twit but i'd swap the i for an a mate. I'm not into name calling,especially when i make a twit of myself. Do you really dislike Liverpool that much you want us to sign Victor Moses ha ha. Just in case you happen to miss my name again i'll use caps dis time. A very upset JONSON ha ha. Twit my apse,how old are you nickumpoop.

Sorry i didnt understand any of that mate, i think you had a few too many. sorry to upset you and your dogs jonson, i hope you are ok by the way, why not take your dogs out for a walk to cool down. RedTurk

Ahoy - having cast an eye over redturks comments and increasingly deluded posts he is the straw fo rmy camels back.

i feel i need to point him in the direction of our next quality signing.

i have it on good authority that we are about to bid on a new goalkeeper called johnny widefella he is 8 feet tall and 24 feet wide and with right angled shoulders - i gave redturk a call and he feels the prospect is not mobile enough and will probably leak a few.

get a grip and get behind the team and the club.

the word support should give you an indication.

boiled onions.

Wow your name boiled onions is about as strange and confusing as your posts. Lol but everytime i see your name- boiled onions makes me laugh, why not go out and have some fresh air, give yourself some time to cool down. it cant be nice being boiled onions.RedTurk

^^ Cant be easy being a tool either RedTurk. How is it anyway?

Yeh my towels are fine thanks.RedTurk

Towels lol.RedTurk

Just watched him this afternoon. Moses is technically ok but fairly lazy and did nothing to suggest he was a good player in a poor team. Wigan are just a very poor team.

Dirks Engine Room

Was that you asking about my tool boiled onions? you didnt sign your post. Thanks for asking anyway and well its not easy when you have a tool to keep it in good shape and healthy, its hard to explain to you unless you had one.RedTurk

03 Dec 2011 15:51:02
i love how maxi got 3 goals in three starts this season

It's easy with hindsight but I've wondered why he didn't feature at the start of the season..

Gazman

Simple because at the start you wana play the guys you just got and paid money on. but then kenny realized that the players form started to dip a little so he had to bring maxi back because he was working hes tail of in training

Anyone else notice that the prob with Maxi is that he doesn't do much else in the game besides being in the right place at the right time to tap in a few goals?

03 Dec 2011 15:38:55
tottenham and arsenal winning, we need to beat fulham.RedTurk

I reckon you're about right there mate.
Could do with another 5-2 as well !
The Real KB

Or 5-0 or 3-0. id take a 1-0 too.

Kaizer

Think we need 2-0 to go fifth above arsenal on goal difference

tel 1949

If we beat fulham by 2 goals then we can go to 5th with 2 points off 4th placed chelsea who has 28points, going into a set of fixtures that we should be aiming to take maximum points of, not saying we will but should (in theory on paper.)

A good string of wins to keep us in the mix will do. Waiting on other teams to drop a b*****k along the way!

Myk

Table wud end
1-city
2-united
3-spurs(they r immense)
SO 4TH is between US,Chelski n Arsnl
also 2 b in the same pos. As arsenal wiv the s**t start they had really says we shud b doing betta.

Utd won't finish 2nd but lower down. just a hunch.

03 Dec 2011 15:13:51
Hi ed, have liverpool got any interest in sturridge? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Ed was it press rumours or was Sturridge offered part ex for Nando that time? {Ed002's Note - This is answered further down the page.}

03 Dec 2011 15:02:22
Would Fernando Llorente be a target for this window considering we bided for him during January last time we were trying to find some to partner our number 7 i know he would cost 25+ but if we want to kick on we need other players that can score goals, what would happen if Suarez was injured who would score our goals

as well what about Cheick Tioté for a DM better than some players that we have had in this position in the past

romford liverpool boy {Ed001's Note - Bilbao rejected 35m for him, why would they suddenly sell him now? They have him and Martinez that the team is built round, they have other talent that they are willing to sell though.}

Never mind Llorente, Javi Martinez is exactly the sort of player who would slot into the premier league nicely. He'd be a welcome addition to the Reds, but i'm sure it would take an astonomical bid to get him.
Milamber {Ed002's Note - I was told a few weeks ago that Inter Milan may make a bid for Javi in January if they decide not to take Juraj Kucka from co-owners Genoa. I am not convinced that Bilboa will want to sell the player in January, and if they do they will want something over 40M euro.}

Which other talent are they willing to sell, Ed? {Ed002's Note - Sorry, who?}

Ed001 was saying that Athletic Bilbao have other talent that they are willing to sell {Ed002's Note - I am sure that they will all move to Liverpool.}

Bilbao have a lot of good talent -> Fernando Llorente, Iker Muniain, Andoni Iraola, Javi Martínez and Ander Herrera.......just to name a few....

They have a manager whom I consider one of the best ever in the game - Marcelo Bielsa.......If he knew English, then it would have been a major surprise were he not to manage in the Premier League.....He rejected Inter Milan this year....

They have a project there in Bilbao....I will find it bizarre if they were to sell any of those players......I have been following them this season and they play extremely well....

However if I were to pick a player for Liverpool, the name is Iker Muniain.......He can be as good as (or even better than) Stevie G......He is fantastic, immensely talented.....

Tricks, WorkRate, Skill, Desire
Name it and the lad has it......

Forget Martinez
Forget Eriksen
Forget Neymar

Muniain is the name but again I doubt if they will sell or he would like to leave Spain.....

LiverBird {Ed002's Note - Muniain has been touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and two clubs in England have certainly been approached all ready. The asking price is 40M euros. They won't get it. I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has shown himself to be pretty immature. Roma interest is still there.}

Ed,

In addition to this I missed out the name of Canales (though not from Bilbao)....

He has been a vital part of Valencia this season....An injury to him has reduced the effectiveness of Valencia after a flying start to the season......

He has progressed a lot this season after getting a run of games......Even his built is better than when he was at Santander....

What do you think of our chances of getting him? Especially as Madrid have Ozil, Ronaldo and are rumoured to be lining up Goetze and Hazard (as per Marca).......

LiverBird {Ed002's Note - Sorry. I really don't think this winter window will see Liverpool make such moves in the market. Maybe in the summer they might be in a position to make more significant additions.}

Carroll and Llorente upfront that would work lol could score a fair amount of headers but please seriously...

03 Dec 2011 15:01:45
Ed do u think that can Henderson can fill the DM position and if yes where do u think his potential lies and also I keep reading that moussa sissoko is the long term replacement for stevie but wasn't Henderson the one to do so
19th we will win {Ed001's Note - neither are DMs, neither are going to fill that role any time soon.}

Srry u misunderstood my question I was trying to ask that why is everyone telling that we need someone to replace gerrard and wasn't Jordan bought for the very same purpose and also how do you rate jordan on potential and also do u see him as a player to possibly take over stevie g

Hmm sissoko or henderson? i think sissoko is exactly the right player to replace gerrard i really dont see henderson being that type of player ever.RedTurk

Henderson is definitely a Gerrard type of player not as good but still has the same main characteristics that are long shots and through balls to put players through on goal and both best place to play is as a box-to-box or CAM behind the striker. Don't know about Sissoko though.

03 Dec 2011 14:59:34
Andy Carroll would make a good replacement
for Drogba at Chelsea. Maybe we could make a
straight swap Carroll for Torres in January. Torres
suits Liverpool style of play more than AC and
AC suits chelsea style than Torres does. -
fact of life and football. {Ed001's Note - except Torres is a player who has had his prime and is now struggling, Carroll is a young lad who has yet to hit his. Silly idea to even consider it, even if Torres wasn't earning over twice as much as Carroll.}

So you would want a player that turned his back on us?
He wasn't willing to give us time, now look at him.
Maybe you should learn from Torres' mistake and give Carroll a chance to prove himself.

KT!

03 Dec 2011 13:18:28
Ed, is it true that Sturridge was offered to us as a part of the Torres deal? Or was that just paper talk. Cheers pal

ToonRed {Ed002's Note - I am not so sure that was true in January but Liverpool and Chelsea spoke about him the previous summer when he went to Bolton on loan.}

Jst hope he was not offered because it has been our habit in the past decade,we were rumoured to be offered etoo in part of owen deal,real were willing to offer sneijder as part of the xabi deal.and we all know the rest

Offered Eto'o as part of Owen deal?! Don't think Eto'o ever played for Real mate.

Yeah liverpool do seem to miss out on great players sometimes

He started at Real mate, 1997-2000 before transferring to Mallorca and Barcelona in 2004. A lot of his time at Real was spent on loan moves to other clubs as he was still in his teens, so no chance he was part of a swap deal including Owen. Would have been lethal though if he had been!

Cuchulainn's Hounds {Ed002's Note - Eto'o left Real Madrid years before Owen moved there - this is all nonsense. I am sorry.}

Think I need more coffee, too early in the morning. Aye I know Ed002, I meant he had moved on from Real by 2000 as you said and obviously couldn't have been part of an Owen swap deal but if he had signed at all for us at any point he would have been a great signing.

Cuchulainn's Hounds

Okay I got confused with etoo srry my bad,but wat bout sneijdet {Ed002's Note - What about Sneijder? You are not expecting him Hazard and Higuain in January are you?}

Noo these do not match the club expectations I would go for CR7,leo messi and neymar dos Santos
srry couldn't resist myself but jokes aside
Wasn't madrid willing to offer sneijdar as a part of the xabi alonso deal

03 Dec 2011 13:16:18
We always seem to be 2 very good players short of a great team. Now is no different. We still need a proper right midfielder and another striker. If only we took sturrage last jan. But suppose it is great watching him keep Torres out the team when less than a year ago he was being offered on the cheap in part exchange for his services.

MIKEY

Bang on Mikey,always nearly there.Mr.Whinge

03 Dec 2011 13:09:48
Howay the draw !
The Real KB

Maybe not...lol

03 Dec 2011 12:32:35
Who is the best CM that we have ever had?
Gerrard, Souness, McDermott, Molby, Xabi or one of lads I have forgotten.
Scouse Pride

Gerrard for me, i watched Souness, Mahon & Rednap thru the yrs...but Stevie offered more going foward & defending
Red&Bred

Ronnie whealen

Im 22 and the best midfielder I have ever seen play is Gerrard by far

Square tomato

Probably better to consider this question in terms of pairings. I'd go for Souness and Alonso. Gerrard off the striker for me.

Chubs

Souness by a long, long way. Stevie is brilliant but isn't a midfielder in terms of controlling the tempo of a game. He's more a dynamic individual player who creates something with a moment of brilliance. Alonso in his last year was the perfect midfielder.

Hugh Pugh.

May not have been the best but my favourite was Terry McDermott, always had a soft spot for Sammy Lee as well

Chris in Tamworth

Has to b souness a beast surprised Ronnie whelan didn't make your list if he was Italian or dutch he would of been recognized as one of best midfielders in Europe when he was playing.
Don't understand why u have gerrard on your list not knocking him he's a wonderfully gifted player but he never learned to b a cm reasons been gives ball away to much always looking for killer ball which is great when it comes off but trying it the whole time just gives opposition the ball.
He was never coached right sometimes the simple pass is the right pass also he's not disciplined in his tackling its always all or nothing with him u don't have to jump into tackles sometimes just harrie a player into making mistake is the thing to do .
Don't want it to sound like I'm slaying him It's just that I always felt with his talent he could of been world class but as I said he was never coached right. I think if Dalglish had of been his manager when he was younger he'd of been twice as good as he is now. He's still an immensely talented player but as forward not a cm. Its just my honest opinion on him & not saying it disrespect lvpool I was a huge Glenn hoddle fan but I'd first to admit that defensive side of his game stopped him been one of worlds greatest midfielders
Espur

Salif Diao

Stevie g has had less quality around him, and out shines the rest for me.

Its no wonder he's now so injury prone because he has been carrying so many of his team mates for so long. All the best.

KNEE JERK

Souness.
No doubt for me.
The Real KB {Ed001's Note - I am with you, without a doubt the best central midfielder I have ever seen play, he was a class apart. Just a shame he was such a terrible manager!}

Souness played in better teams than Gerrard, yes. But it was a mark of his quality, that Liverpool took 2/3 years to get over his departure.
And he'd have chewed Roy Keane up and spit him back out !
The Real KB

Souness was a manager? I just thought he wanted to look good on the touchline. Yep, phenomenal footballer though in his day.

Cuchulainn's Hounds

EDD 001
souness has a decent record as a manager he tried to rush and bulldoze his way at liverpool when he was manager, but i think a lot of it was the spice boys at liverpool at the time, as a player he was the best leader ever and never let us down ever, bob paisleys skids {Ed001's Note - the Spice Boys were not around until after Souness! Souness bought dross and sold good players, he was terrible for us, far too intent on selling his story to the S*n for money.}

Correct Ed Souness awful manager,awful team,morale,tactics.But great player.Mr.Whinge

Souness was probably the best we had, but I have a soft spot for the conductors of the game. That's why big Jan Molby will always have a place in my team. Controlled the game, never gave the ball away & never moved from the circle in the middle. What a player.

The Irish Rover

Man, some of Souness's signings. The mind still boggles! Piechnik, Kozma, Julian Dicks, Paul Stewart...

Remember the 'sublime' Ali Dia?

Cuchulainn's Hounds

Gerrard by a long way,
he reinvented the central midfield role,
can't think of an other player to compare him too, but there will be many future
players who will be compared to Gerrard.

Without question its Gerrard

Then a long way behind is
Souness
Case
Callaghan
Ray Kennedy

I have never seen the likes of Souness...
Hence Alonso for me ......

LiverBird

It's got to be the dream pairing of Souness and Hughes for me. Not Emlyn Hughes though, Yosser!
Seriously though, I'd have loved to have seen Souness and Gerrard play together.
I think Souey edges it though, because he could dominate a game, whereas Stevie would give us flashes of brilliance.

Rigsby.

Igor biscan

Legend..... :)

I have never been a fan of AC, no matter if the price was £35m or 35p. For me his is not mobile enough, and his technique is not as good as others in his position. That being said, I trust in KK's judgement that he will eventually justify that price tag and become a true asset to the team. How much would you pay for Lucas now, yet he was seen as a costly error when we got him, but now he is priceless. Lets keep things in perspective, AC never asked us to pay that for him, so we have to support him as a valuable member of the team and squad. I would though, like to see him being given more of a run to justify his being at the club, but I do not see how he will fit into the flowing system we have, and he is a bit expensive as a last 10 minutes super sub if we need to lomp it up the pitch to snatch a winner.#

Red4Ever

Not all of us see a new purchase with potential as a costly error as you put it... players need time and belief from people to flourish just like most things in life... Doubters, haters and armchair critics should keep their negative stuff to themselves and get a life ! AC will come good and I for one will not say or judge otherwise until his anfield days are over...Tobiwan

03 Dec 2011 12:16:30
Why are there still posts about Lucas' injury and what will we do without him... Lets move on guys and focus on the positives like what a signing Bellers has been, how good our defence is looking, how much noisier Anfield is getting etc... Kenny is not just a king he is a wizard of many tricks and a brilliant diffuser of his desire and enthusiasm...this is all about the team not what one individual can or can't do...Let's all just sit back and watch a master at work...YNWA Tobiwan P.S. Bet Fergie has doubled his intake of vin rouge since seeing the kop rocking again

Corrrrrrrect! One mans misfortune is another mans chance to shine Hendo, Spearing, Shelvey and even Coady moves up the pecking order.

But saying that all the best Lucas lad.

KNEE JERK

we need a midfielder who plays in the middle but that is to replace gerrard and cover for him now while he is out and that is mousa sissoko, we dont need to replace lucas but buying sissoko he could also fill in the center. I also believe we need a right winger desperately and a clinical striker desperately, i think this is the 2 areas we are under performing in, 1 of the reasons is andy carroll has been a complete flop so far and we are left with just luis suarez, therefore our goals scored compared to chances created is quite poor. I also believe once we buy a right winger, we should drop downing and play maxi until he improves. Right now i can understand why kenny would play downing because he is the only natural winger we have, but he does not deserve his place right now.RedTurk

Shock horror Red Turk being negative for a change. One day you'll come on here and post about the progress were making. How many games unbeaten we are,how water tight our defence is. But no,a piss and a moan who we should sign who's crap but never owt decent to say about anything to do with Liverpool. One day we all might read a post of you actually being complementary about our club. I for one though won't be holding my breath.
Jonson.

Redturk your a joke! I bet your a right laugh down the pub.Your an absolute KN........... KNEE JERK fan. All the best.

KNEE JERK

To be fair to to RedTurk this is one of his more constructive than negative posts. I agree that we should try and snap up Moussa Sissoko, as I can see him being an instant hit with us fans. He seems to control the Toulouse midfield like their all just puppets. I agree that we should play Maxi more often based on his current performances and merit and that competition for the left wing position should help Downing improve.

KennyD JFT96

Atleast sign your post so i can reply to you mate! i think kenny is doing a good job with the team and 10 games unbeaten is very good, our defence is looking better now carragher is out. I'm talking about improvements the team need to make for us to challenge at the top, so whats the problem mate? please sign your post u twit.RedTurk

Lol u did sign it, jus saw it at the bottom sorry. ur still a twit though.RedTurk

With Steve Bruce losing his job at Sunderland do Liverpool supporters think that alleged Referees' Supremo Sir Alex Ferguson will be pushing for one of his other disciples Hughes or Solksjaer to get the Blackburn job if Kean is sacked?
Midsred

I fail to see where anything other clubs are doing have any bearing on us.

As long as Blackburn go down, I don't care who is the manager!

There have been hundreds of options suggested for a temporary replacement for Lucas and I have even suggested Stevie G if he comes back soon. Looking at our whole squad there is a player who could easily cover the position and cause attackers nightmares and that's Dirk Kuyt. We could lose out from Pepe's kicks and attacking strength but a solid central midfield is vital if we are to push on for a 4th spot or better. Maybe Dirk dropping back could create space for Maxi, Downing or Carroll on a regular basis, even push Johnson forward and bring in Kelly as regular RB. I'm sure KK has loads of options to think about and Dirk may be one to seriously consider. No need to buy.

Hi Eds - It was advised Gerrard would be out for up to 4 weeks. It has already been 5 and no sign of him even returning to training let alone playing again yet. The body language and King Kenny always refusing to put a date on his return tells me this injury / virus is far more serious than any of us realise. My fears are he is out for a good few months longer yet!!! Your thoughts eds please. {Ed002's Note - So you interpreted Dalglish's words about him returning sooner rather than later as him being out for a "good few months yet". I don't really know what you want me to say.}

I struggle to interprate anything the king says to be honest. Haha

MIKEY

Dalglish has not yet penciled in a return date for Gerrard however he has said "he (Gerrard) will be back sooner rather than later".

i don't care who we sign in january but if we stand still then we will be in trouble. chelsea and arsenal will not allow top4 to slip away. they will strengthen and so must we. everyone knows the positions we need to improve. i'm not going to fire names apart from the ones we have been linked with. coleman for one will add pace, depth and youth to the squad and i'm sure that there will be some january bargins there too. no matter what happens we are in there with a shout of top 4.

Whatever he has written, we put our faith in the Eds to filter out the rantings of mindless morans. This is a brilliant site and is getting better every year. Keep the high standards Eds, NO SWEARING, RESPECT FOR EVERYONE, HUMOUR IN ABUNDANCE!

Not a rumour, but i wouldn't be suprised if we try and get Ever Banega, we've looked at him a few times and personally i think he would be perfect for us.

JR

Would Like to have him, Great addition to the squad! Don't know if there is any interest in the player now, we had him scouted before. Hope he is among those on the agenda.

Armando

Oops i Forgot, he is injured ATM. May be for the summer, certainly not for January.

Hi all,
I was supposed to be attending the Liverpool vs Blackburn game on Boxing Day but can no longer attend. Is there anywhere I can sell or exchange these? I've had a look on the LFC website and it only seems to be for season ticket holders.
Thanks in advance,
Tristan

I'd be happy to take them off your hands if it is 2 tickets or more?

Myk

Me to mate, how many tickets and how much you after ??

Matty b {Ed002's Note - We will let this run a little bit but it will get deleted if there is no response from the original poster or gets a little out of hand. Perhaps intereted parties could meet via Facebook or other social media forum?}

I have 2 tickets. I thought trains ran on boxing day but apparently not. Look for Tristan Lloyd on Facebook. All I want is face value. {Ed002's Note - Thanks for that.}

Im on my way!

Myk

Little help, which Tristan Lloyd are you?

Myk

I have tattoos, a flat cap and I'm rubbing cream into my face on my profile picture!

***breaking news***

liverpool fc have confirmed a replacement for lucas, its jay spearing...

ps people: please stop pestering the eds with your football manager 2011 players and fantasies, as kenny said yesterday if jay plays how he has been he will be fine.

bigd

At last - some sense!!

Gazman

I think spearing can do the job. my only fear is what if we lose him then. when we had lucas, i know we had spearing. when when there is no lucas, no spearing, who does the job then?

Kaizer

Huh, i forgot about Coady. we're fine then. leave midfield alone. we should get a striker / right winger.

Kaizer

THEN u will say if we lose agger, johnson,bellamy, suarez,etc..
chill mate kenny will find a way for that too.
hims_red
YNWA

We lost Johnson, Aurelio and Kelly last year and what did the king do? Flanno right back Robinson left back resulting in Walcott and Nasri being quiet.. Trust the king, he knows more than anyone what's best for LFC.

We finished 6th. i dont care how well flannigan n co did. to finish top4 you need international class cover for every position. we dont have that. its that simple.... kevo's

We have got a strong enough squad to deal with injures, suspensions etc, it annoys me when people keep posting we need another defender, we need to replace Lucas etc, as i have said before we have a good squad and reserve team capable of filling in when needed, as someone mentioned above, when we had 3 defenders out we gave young flano n robbo a go and they proved we dont need to keep going in the transfer market as we have got it the the squad.

BigD

I've all the faith that the boys we have can do the job for Lucas. He may not be an easy player to be replaced, for sure, but we can do it. Do it boys. make us proud. YNWA
Would certainly miss Lucas. get well soon. YNWA

This current squad is now being tested. no one is talking about replacing lucas but getting in quality cover for a key position. there is no guarantee that lucas will get back to his current form. there are a lot of players out there that never fully recover from an injury like this. its only smart to look at whats out there, and if daglish doesn't then he is a fool..kos

Kevo we finished 6 because of the start we had under roy it has nothing to do with flanno or robbo in the team if the king had been in charge from the start last season wed have been 4 easily

Blind faith on a great ex player is admirable but misplaced. this time last year we were 7 points worse off than we are now. not a million miles when you think we lost the last 2 games of the season softly imo. hodgson is an easy soft target and deserved the bullet but dont get carried away saying daglish is the be all and end all. he made 7 changes for a game we was "taking seriously" but didnt rest his key central midfielder. that now is a costly mistake that unless he buys well in january he will regret.... kev {Ed001's Note - get a grip lad, Lucas had to play, like you said we were taking it seriously! Idiotic suggestion to say it was a mistake, only hindsight suggests it would be, no one has that beforehand so stop whining!}

I love this site and it has some very good rumours. Just my opinion but a player we could sign to fill in for the really unlucky and excellent again this season, Lucas Leiva could be Jan Vertonghen, I know he's ultimately a CB but he can play DM and is very good on the ball, only 24 and when Lucas is back we have another classy CB.......YNWA Red Dragon

hey ed when will stevie g come back from injury

vivek12011 {Ed002's Note - The club have not said.}

I was watching lfc the other day and they said he was back in training do you know if that means running with the ball or just general fitness {Ed002's Note - It depends on the injury but I understand he has done a little light training. There is no given date for a return although Mr Dalglish hinted it would not be too long. The critical thing will be to ensure that he is not overworked too much initially.}

Not much chance of that- he's hardly put his feet on the pitch this year- I think we should bring him back quick- especially before the busy Xmas period

03 Dec 2011 05:47:25
Hi eds, do you think our top 4 ambitions will be hard to achieve if we do not make some signings in the winter, on top of the lucas injury.
Thanks.
GoatseKing94 {Ed002's Note - I don't see a problem.}

To all the people talking about Lucas repalcements, didn't Jay Spearing sign a new contract earlier this year,....look at the possible reasons for giving Jay a new contract.....cover for Lucas? I think its the most likely scenario, and I seem to remember Jay putting in some VERY GOOD performances towards the end of last season. I for one am delighted that he is going to get some more game time this year as I think he more than deserved it for the performances he put in last season, he gives real energy to the midfield, and its nice to have a local lad in there, even if he is from the Wirral!!

Gman82

Good point mate players we have need to step up to the mark.
JJ blackpool

You just hit every positive , forward thinking reason , to be optimistic about the teams option of Jay Spearing stepping up again - albeit by default .

I look forward to seeing the team cope with our first major setback of the season , and coming through that test with flying colours .

The argument for Jay Spearing is a good & fair one . It will be interesting to see what other measures Kenny Dalglish implements to overcome the loss of Lucas Leiva's performance level in the Midfield .

1977

Jay Spearing...Kenny Dalglish has said he likes to have players who are local so there is probably no chance of getting rid of him. I'd rather give coady some time than see Spearing play.

Spearing be ok if stayed disciplined

All I have to say is. To the people who are talking trash about the Ed's.
Have some respect atleast. The Ed's put their time and effort into keeping you updated on your club. They have the site for the benefit of me and you. Why throw it back in their face? If they don't know to the best of their knowledge that a player is coming in. Why have a rant about it?
Completely pointless. Should be happy that this site is running for all you.
Thanks.
Keep up the good work Ed's. {Ed001's Note - thank you mate.}

No problem mate. It just bugs me the way people act over something which they don't like. {Ed007's Note - I'm used to people not liking me, don't worry about it, I certainly don't! Nice to know we are appreciated though, thanks.}

My personal choice team to play vs Fulham

---------------Reina--------------
Johnson---Agger---Skrtel---Enrique
-Maxi--Henderson--Adam--Bellamy-
--------Carroll-----Suarez---------

-McMenemy

Nahh, mate. Its a 4-3-3 for me, this Lucas injury has given us many options.

Reina
Johnson---Agger---Skrtel---Enrique
-----------Shelvey/Spearing--------
-------Henderson-----Adam---------
Bellamy-------------------------Maxi
--------------Suarez-----------------

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Andy Carroll fan I do expect him to fire soon, but I think this team should start against Fulham.
