who was better?

gerrard at his best(believable), or scholes at his best(unbelievable)..whats your opinion ed?

LFC-IRE {Ed013's Note - Gerrard}

One of the most stupid questions.....
They're both completely different players. No reason and no need to compare them and make one of them look inferior to others. Both are top class.

ManU were the best 'team' in the league this year, they def didnt have the best names on the teamsheet. Look at Real, buy everyone and everything, brilliant players but not a great team like Barca.

Think about it.

===============================
Having thought about your point i keep coming back to the same conclusion that when you use Barcelona as an example you have to remember that Messi, Xavi and Iniesta ARE THE BEST which renders your point somewhat moot.

Seriously...

ED'S
Can you PLEASE put a sticky list of those known rumours at the top.

everyday i come on here and wade through reams of 'exclusive' my mates dog tells me Mata or Young is signing for £33m blah blah.

I really would love these people to bother to do a search to realise that Mata/Young/Hazard/Baines etc etc have been outed on the site already.

Oh and for the love of god....the please ED whats the rating out of 10 of us signing Lionel Messi....surely you guys must be getting bored of that as well?

The last few seasons, the rumours on here use to have some credibility and a bit of thought behind it....now its just full of people playing football manager on their PC and thinking its real.

Sorry fellas have to get it off my chest its really ruining what was a fantastic site

Hi Ed's,

I have heard that we can expect some news tomorrow regarding transfers.

I was told that the players in mention tomorrow were from the championship.

Ed's i haven't hear anywhere at all regarding names from the championship but a friend who lives in the southwest reckons that this will happen.

Ed's have you heard anything, if so could you shed some light on it.

Thanks

Great site by the way! {Ed002's Note - Don't get over excited.}

31 May 2011 22:36:36
Aguero, how good is he and is all of this hype necessary over him??

31 May 2011 22:35:25
{Ed013's note - yes much higher}

You never realize how important champions league football is until your out of it and players choose other clubs because of this. I think getting quality players will be a real struggle this summer.

Can you please stop stating that mata's signing is delayed due to under 21 commitments he is 23 and therfore to old DOH! d.o.b 28/4/1988, go check it for yourself!!

Doh the average age of the squad must be 21 not the player doh!

I feel it's time to show our ambition in the following transfer window. So far the new owners have said all the right things, whilst ticking all the boxes! It's time to see if they are ready to put there money where there mouths are. This transfer window is the biggest in the clubs history, I feel this will persuade our best players to stay if the squad is added to with world class players. I feel 4 top players could be enough to move us onto the next level. Great site eds. Many thanks, marchy

Hi All,

With all the talk of huge signings coming in it seems everyone has missed the point of 'the best team'. Kenny will choose players who will fit with what we have and what we need. They won't always be the biggest names but players who will make a better team.

ManU were the best 'team' in the league this year, they def didnt have the best names on the teamsheet. Look at Real, buy everyone and everything, brilliant players but not a great team like Barca.

Think about it.

As soon as Liverpool have agreed pre-contracts with Juan Mata and Diego Perotti. Sergio Aguero will agree to join his Argentine team mates. £41.3 Million bid accepted by Athletico Madrid today. Hence the fallen interest in the player recently. Behind the scenes there has been a lot of activity and both clubs will remain tight lipped till July. Sergio to arrive for a medical next month along with Perotti and Mata. Sergio will be Liverpool's marquee signing, joining his favourite club in England and one of his boyhood idols Kenny Dalglish. Apparently there is another big signing in process.

Fernando Torres has given us a good reference Apparently.

K, Mata may well have under 21 commitments as he was under 21 at the beginning of qualifying therefore still eligible to play now despite being 23 DOH! (I must admit, I thought we had explained all this days ago, but obviously K only reads what HE posts and not any replies?!?!?)

Ok Chris my appologies did not read or check up first, just presumed, my bad!

Doesn't the rules state you are allowed 2 'overage' players in U21 squads? If so Mata could be included.

Just checked, players only have to be U21 at start of qualifying campaign, so players are regularly play at 23yo. Quick check on the facts before having a dig at other posters please!

Been thinking of a post i sent in earlier, and the more i think off it the more it makes sense.
I been thinking why are we looking at so many CM (we have Gerrard, Lucas, Mereles, Spearing, ) Adam/ Marveux, would be 6 for 2 positions - and thats if we sell Cole/ Aqua/Poulson.
Conclusion is KK is thinking 4-3-3, with attacking fullbacks, maximising on the players we already have, and sticking with what he has already said Quality signings. By going 4-3-3, I think the starting 11 is only 2 player short: a LB, and another Striker. (yes no new wingers needed)
Would explain the need for Midfielders, 1 more stiker to add to Saurez, Carroll, Kuyt, and a LB with one of the kids and Aurelio being back up.
Starting 11 - Reina,
Johnson Carra Agger New LB
Gerrard Lucas Mereles
Saurez Carroll New ST
If this is so then Aguero is not so far fetched...

What you think Eds {Ed001's Note - I don't see it, Kenny is very much a 4-4-2 man.}

31 May 2011 20:47:54
Park chu young is a political transfer.I heard we were after him last yr as well.He will sell a lot of shirts in Asia.A poster boy for standard charter.Not a bad player and we are on the lookout for a fourth striker seeing that Ngog is being touted about.I think he maybe free am i right ed? {Ed001's Note - his contract expires in 2013.}

Not sure how or why but Mata is in spain u21 squad:

Spain coach Luis Milla will look to Javi Mart nez and Juan Mata to provide tournament-winning experience after the 2010 FIFA World Cup victors were named in a 23-man squad for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Denmark.

Seeing scholes has now retired, as a liverpool and football fan, I can say he was an outstanding player, who will b missed at manure. With this happening, do u think whisky nose will bid for Adam as his replacement? Hope not as wud like to see him in the Alonso role, an I believe his left foot will get us at least 10 goals, an a few good assists.

how can we not afford to pay 23 mil for Mata but we can afford 18 for Young and 16 for Downing all together that comes to over £40mil

If we can belive press LFC has 50m to spend this summer. Buying Young&Downing would be 34m but then LFC has both wingers left &right. LFC needs back up for Steve G( probably Adam 6-8m as well as LB Enrique 6-8m). LFC hardly can afford Diego 15m & Sissoko more than 12m. I would like to see them in LFC but it's unlikely. Maybe if Aqulani is sold for 12-13m tu Juve plus exchange Cole+cash(10m) for Young. Then Liverpool would be able to get Diego and Sissoko instead of Enrique, even Mata instead of Downing or N'Zogbia. Dalglish prefers 4-4-2 than 4-3-3. Anyway I do agree with SAF that next season LFC will fight for title.

31 May 2011 20:59:56
There is plenty of weight in the Aguero deal. Purslow started the ball rolling last summer and Liverpool went back in January along with Chelsea and got told to return in the summer. Aguero signed a new deal to protect his value for the sake of the club.

It is believed that the fee is not the problem, it is the wages and the old Liverpool problem of convincing big players to sign and then not backing that up with more quality. Rumour is gathering pace across Merseyside though.

what are the chances of us buying downing? because i'd really rather not see us waste 15 million on him

31 May 2011 20:30:45
I've got a feeling we will make a bid for Luka Modric. Comolli bought him to Tottenham of course, and Dalglish voted him as player of the season. As I say, I'm not in the know or anything, but it could be a 'surprise' signing if you like.

31 May 2011 20:25:02
Evening eds and readers , this isn't a rumour , more an observation.Things have gone really quiet at anfield but still that doesn't mean that the cogs of industry have ground to a halt.Maybe more of a turnback of time to the days when the mighty L.F.C did business behind closed doors , the way it should be.Personally i believe that King Kenny is too shrewd to air his dirty laundry in public and Fenway Sports Group will ultimately want success , and success will come at a cost .So in a nutshell money will be spent but on talent that wants to play in the shirt and want to stay with the club long term.I think were in for an exciting summer .

31 May 2011 20:24:18
The reason why Reina has changed his mind and will stay is because sufficient spending has been promised. He also was asked which players he would like to see at Anfield and he said Juan Mata and Sergio Aguero. These two players are two of our top 5 targets.... .......................................kopite your full ov CACK son I also heard reina said he wants Sean dundee an Erik meijer back that has made him change his mind why oh why is there so many muppets on this site posting lie's ed.Surley you have a duty not to post all the bulls**t am sick of it really though ed it's getting as bad as koptalk.(well maybe not but still) I work at the club an I hear this an that but I never post it infact this is my first post.I think all the crap like I work in anfield an I seen a fax on dalglish's desk when I took him a cup of coffee an it read hazard done aguero done benzema done young done hahahahaha it makes me laugh but angry that people just post crap an more crap.if I told you some of the stuff I've heard over the past few weeks you would not believe me because loads of names that are getting said on here are way off the Mark. I hope you put this on both rumours an banter ed. Great site by the way mate keep up good work an am sure everyone on this site is very grateful for the time the eds put in. I was directed to this site buy a youth team player who stumbled across it while searching Liverpool I've been hooked ever since so well done. All am gona say is here is to a very bright future for Liverpool football club as king kenny has changed the whole club from inside out thanks again ed ( Inside@anfield)

31 May 2011 19:52:35
We need quality width and some solid defenders people keep saying Aguero whilst that would be a sensational signing where would he fit in Kenny's style. At LFC and Blackburn was devastating yet simple. Width and a powerful forward. A small clever creative player in the hole with a central midfield with steel and drive. Backed up by a defence that's miserly with a top keeper.

31 May 2011 19:51:42
liverpool have made a bid 20 million for aiden mcgeady.100% true as i am a cousin of aiden. he will be a good signing.

No disrespect to your "cousin" Aiden mate. But he's not worth 2 mill, never mind 20 mill.

Blair, whilst I agree that its obviously not his cousin, he is definately worth around 15 mil. 2 million is just retarded.

LFC will sign 4 players this summer. Dann and McCarthy are the only nailed on buys I reckon. I still think (just my opinion) there is also a chance FSG would go for Aguero. A marquee signing for the fans (and the team). The branding / merchandising potential alone for this lad is massive and that factor has got to interest a company like FSG who are experts in sports marketing / promotion etc. The lad would pay for himself in 4 years with all the shirts he'll shift , we'd need to sell about 250'000 worldwide each year or something similar - doesn't seem too impossible to me. What do you think Ed's?...I'm sure that is what Real Madrid have done for years with they're marquee signings. {Ed001's Note - yes, but they have also won very little through doing so and Barca are likely to overtake them as a brand due to their success. I expect us to look for success on the field to lead to success in marketing, not the other way round.}

Hi guys/gals,

Being a visitor for the last few months, its nice to see silly season back in full swing!

Seeing Gareth Bale rumoured... did i dream he commented not along ago he did not like Liverpool (the city)???

Anyway, personally i would like to see the following arrive-

Adam & Moussa Sissoko (noone else similar to our talisman, Gerrard, when hes out. These could be)
Dann (potentially Carragher-esque - Will get better with age)
Mata & Perotti - (To provide the width and flair lacking)
Cissokho - (Solid, young leftback with bags of potential)
Bojan - (Could play part of a 3 pronged attack, or link with Carrol/Kuyt just as easily)

Thoughts Mr Eds?
Great site, you're doing a good job

31 May 2011 19:48:11
Now im liverpool fan through an through but people saying if aguero signs we will have the best attack in the world is just ridiculous...barca boast..messi...villa..pedro..bojan
real have...ronaldo...higuain..benzema
chelsea have torres drogba anelka
even city an united have a awesome strike force...

Ed why oh why are we not getting hazard the guy I can say will probably be world class player in 2 years. He would probably cost 20 to 25 mil. We know we have that cash. Also mata would cost the same to. That's about 40 mil minus all the deadwood we can sell I won't be to optimistic so i will say we can get about 10 mil for the deadwood players. Altogether would cost 30 to 35 mil for both hazard and mata. Add perrotti for about 9 mil also Scott dann as he looks the most likeliest cb he would cost about 8 to 12 mil plus Izzaguire would cost about 10 to 15 mil. Altogether we can get all these world class player for ultimately less 55 mil we know we still have not used the Torres money or what's left of it , so why don't we sign these players Ed it common sense.
Brian YWNA {Ed013's Note - It also depends on where the players want to go and hazard is not sure where he wants to go or whether to stay}

--------------------

Ed,

I have read that Kenny is a master when it comes to Powers of Persuasion and the legend has it that he convinced Alan Shearer to join Blackburn at the expense of ManU.......

Is it true with other players in the past as well?

LiverBird {Ed001's Note - he is excellent at this, he has that Shanklyesque ability to sell a club. He makes players feel like they will be privileged to sign for the club he manages.}

31 May 2011 19:07:56
Ed,

Isnt McCarthy similar to Jonjo Shelvey??

I mean that they occupy the same spaces on the pitch? So why are Liverpool going for McCathy??

LiverBird {Ed001's Note - that is the worry I have regarding this mooted move. But you do need at least two midfielders in the centre, so get them in and training together regularly and they will learn to play as a team.}

31 May 2011 19:31:12
"Agger will see his current contract extended by 3 years and his wages increased by 5-10k P/W."

Hope that's a pay as you play deal. How can you extend the contract of a guy who is so often injured.
Quality when fit but .........

31 May 2011 19:25:40
When Stevie and Carra were quoted as being "excited" for the summer ahead it wasn't excitement as professional footballers. It was excitement as LFC fans. They know no more about who we are going to sign than the editors.

I don't doubt they have been assured big signings will be made, money is available etc etc

In the end, ur cousins uncle who lives next door to KK does not know anything. A few select people at the club (no players) will know who we will sign. That's professionalism, that's the Liverpool way.

YNWA

31 May 2011 19:21:48
Remember dalglish said It will be a good summer and Gerrard and carragha are excited for next season so there will be a big summer shock signing no one will think of e.g.
Garath Bale 40-50mill
Eden Hazard 20-25mill
Well no one nows just guessing it will be a winger
----------------------------------------

40-50 million for P O B?? Have you been picking magic mushrooms? Over rated mard arse in my opinion.

"I always find it difficult to switch off even in the summer. I'm already thinking about next season.

"You are always thinking about who is coming in, who is going and then when the fixtures come out who we have got in the first game. It never stops."

Speculation is always rife at this time of year about comings and goings at every club - and Carragher admits he often doesn't have the inside scoop.

"People always think as players we know what's going on with transfers but we are like the supporters, " said the 33-year-old.

"You pick up bits and bobs off different people, just like the fans do. We all love to see ourselves going for top players and bringing them in.

"But that's nothing to do with me. That's up to the manager and Damien Comolli, and who they decide is good enough.

"They know what they are doing.

"My job is just to play. From a personal point of view I'll come back next season, start again and try to be successful for Liverpool."

Those are quotes from Carragher.

Love how people say that Carroll is over priced and then say we should buy Aguero...... seriously at least we don't have to pay 10m a year just for wages with Carroll -Mc

Mr E

31 May 2011 18:33:29
We should never have signed Carroll. Even if we desperately wanted him we should have payed 10m
For 35m we should have bought hulk or aguero
What do you think eds
{Ed013's Note - I personally think 35 for carroll is too much and was a desperate bid for him. Although I am sure he will prove his worth}
------------------------------------------
Why hasn't everyone gotten this into their heads? We would not have gotten £50m for Torres if Carroll hadn't cost £35m. We would not have paid £35m for Carroll if Chelsea hadn't been willing to dump such a massive wad on Torres. We made our damand (price of Carroll + £15m) and from that point on it was, for all intents and purposes, a negotiation between Chelsea and NUFC over Carroll's fee.

Think of it this way: we traded a mediocre winger (Babel) and a mopey striker on a downward spiral talent-wise (Torres) for Suarez, and got Chelsea to buy Carroll for us as a bonus. The £35m tag is irrelevant.

31 May 2011 18:13:33
i'm sick of the idiots who call themselves fans coming on here slating caroll saying he's not good enough, overpriced or aguero, benzema or cavani etc would do better, firstly KK bought him so he thinks he's good enough, secondly the lad didn't set the price himself so don't slate him for that and thirdly of all the players i've seen listed on here who would apparently do better than caroll not one of them has got premier experience so what makes you think they'd even settle into our league, atleast caroll's got a years experience under him and with a good pre season i'm sure he'll be raring to go so try supporting the lad or sod off and watch tme mancs or chelski.

Ed good effort mate. But for some strange reason a number of fans of our splendid club (who mostly frequent forums) cannot seem to grasp the concept that not every single player in World football will want to join LFC for whatever reason. The logic being, 'if I support them then everyone must like them too'. Changing that rather simplistic mindset seems one of lifes improbable conundrums. And unfortunately subjects the task of a forum editor to one of constant repatition. And for that I salute you! PS: when is Aguero signing? Red77 {Ed001's Note - he signed for us repeatedly throughout the last 6 or 7 transfer windows didn't he? Poor guy must have got RSI signing all the different contracts people have told us all about!}

31 May 2011 18:06:59
i also thought at the time that 35 mil was way too much for carroll, but when speaking i an interview in fourfourtwo magazine, comolli explained the logic. the deal was to chelsea was that torres wuld cost whatever newcastle want for carroll +15 mil. this is because they thought carroll was worth 15 mil and both newcastle and liverpool knew abramovic would pay a huge sum to get torres. so really caroll only cost us 15 mil.

Look everyone knows that we paid well over the odds for Carroll but his presence on the pitch alone will allow space for the more cleverer players, he will always pull defenders out of position and he will also score, also a point to note is that the owners did pay 36 mill on Carroll, in my opinion they will pay for example the 30 mill for Sanchez not saying this particular player will come but the owners will dish out the money as i have said on a couple of ocassions the senior players aren't excited about average players coming in.

Could I ask a question?

I know that Torres wanted to go and that he was not content at Liverpool....

Although it was on deadline day. Doesn't anybody think that if we had refused to sell him yes he would start sulking but once Suarez came in surely he would begin to realise....Furthermore what if Kenny told him that he could go in Summer and that he could have from January to decide?

Let's face it - We all loved him and even though he wasn't his usual self this season he was picking up before he moved to Chelsea.

It's the past now I know but I just wanted other opinions. Torres was on par with Rush upfront.

we were promised top calibre players and who do we get gervinho! lol

I to hope Carroll proves his worth, because so far he is like a £35 mil voronin. Listen guys whoever we do buy is only going to improve the team. With kk at the helm it's only gonna get better so let's show some faith and patience and get ready for the good times ahead. Toxteth red

"We should never have signed Carroll. Even if we desperately wanted him we should have payed 10m
For 35m we should have bought hulk or aguero
What do you think eds"

Yes, in hindsight £35m is far too much for Carroll, but it made no difference to us. The intention was to get Carroll + £15m profit from the sale of Torres, irrespective of what it would technically cost to get Carroll. Effectively, it cost us nothing in selling Babel and Torres anyway, and as a bonus it has left Abramovic £50m short. I like Newcastle so I hope they use the money well and buy some good players from it. Does Torres merit £50m? Based on this season, £5m would probably suffice. Since I don't like Chelsea and they got the bogus end of the deal, I am contented with the business.

Yes you could look at it that we could have signed Carroll this summer for less, but Torres wanted out then and there, so a knee-jerk decision had to be made and it was ultimately a good decision. I don't think Atletico would have sold Aguero for all the money under the sun at that moment in time, unless an astronomical fee was quoted, in which Chelsea would have had to pay similarly for Torres - but would they have met that fee? Who knows?

I'm personally unsure about the Aguero-talk. He is a fantastic player, no doubt about it, but even in the unlikely scenario he comes - it would push either Suarez or Carroll aside, neither of which (for their money) should sit on the bench, and would want to either! It would also disrupt the whole balance of the club, he would probably be the highest paid player...I'm not sure that will sit well in the stomachs of some of the mainstream players. I'm going to be honest - we don't need him.

Gervinho has told the media that he wishes to announce his new club next weekend.

If LFC do wish to buy him now would be the perfect time.

LFC should also at least attempt to get Hazard and Mata because they are two quality wingers. Hazard can also play CAM and Mata can play RW and ST too. This is a no brainer.

Sakho too would be quality. Better than dann and able to challenge Skrtel and Agger. He is only 20 too so we always have a good future sale price as he can only get better. For LB I think Aly Cissokho would be best.

All these players fit the transfer policy, are in our radar and DC will have some good connections with them (exc Mata).

In:
Cissokho 15m
Mata 23m
Sakho 15-20m
Hazard 24m

Thats around 75m plus we get rid of deadwood is 60m spend altogether minus the leftovers of torres and we're left with 50m net spend. Most people say we have that money to spend and from owners who have payed $200m for two baseball players why not?!

{Ed013's Note - I personally think 35 for carroll is too much and was a desperate bid for him. Although I am sure he will prove his worth}

its amazing how you have lost faith in him so fast, we would be shouting for kenny to get if we didnt have him nd just because he has had a little bip with injury? for god sake man have a bit off faith!!

31 May 2011 17:23:36
Am i the only 1 who is scared that we might have overpaid for Carrol maybe 15 mil excess....as it is Carroll started only 3-4 games...we could have waited till summer and possibly gone all out for a better striker for thet price or maybe even less....Aguero, Cavani, Lavezzi, Benzema....certainly they would have been much better for the pass and move LFC way....the only game Carroll played well in was against Man City....David Villa 32 mil and Carroll 35 mil....people might say it was the time when the transfer took place but we could have waited we paid and extra 15 mil for 4-5 games...anyonbe agree?? {Ed002's Note - You should never really consider the cost of one player against the cost of another. What has happened with Carroll is in the past. Time to move on.}

hi ed just watched a video of an agent entering mellwood, everyone is says its Aguero's but also maxi's but if what im told is correct they have the same agency in common not agent. Is this true? {Ed013's Note - The have the same agency. }

Link to video? {Ed013's - it is on Koptalk}

So most likely just the postman. Kraptalk is a load of crap.

Dear ed what's the chances of getting rid of the dead wood? I.e. Jovanovic, poulsen, konchesky, ngog etc. Etc. {Ed002's Note - Good.}

31 May 2011 16:39:38
ed, do you think gervinho and perroti are good enough? in my opinion i think they are decent but haven't we already got decent players such as rodriguez and kuyt. i think we should do all we can to buy aguero, mata and hazard as they will help us challenge for the title whereas gervinho and perroti simply won't. {Ed002's Note - Gervinho and Perotti are good enough. There is no point at all on me commenting on Aguero, Hazard and the like.}

31 May 2011 16:33:28
ed, thanks for the quick reply, you say that our owners won't pay mad because we have a high wage bill, we could sell cole, lucas, kuyt and others to lower the wage bill so we could afford these top players. secondly if we sign these players the owners would be paid back through sales of shirts and etc. what do you think? {Ed002's Note - It really isn't how club finances are run.}

31 May 2011 16:32:23
Dann
Enrique
Perotti
Downing
Mata
Marveaux
Adam
Mccarthy
Matuidi

Outside of Marveaux, which of these are the most likely ed, i'd say theres a decent chance of 4 or 5 of them.

31 May 2011 16:47:32
Not sure who KK & DC have been working on from abroad but think its vital that we aim for tried & trusted premiership players to give us strong spine, i.e. Dann (solid & dependable); Adam (quality left foot & goals return). A good balance is vital alongside match wining skill of Suarez & Gerrard.

for the last part of the season our whole team has been solid and dependable, we need more creative players, adam yes but only as a squad player, iant good enough for the first team, he needs to seriously up his fitness and maybe work on his speed, he makes carra look like usain bolt

we need wingers, fast, creative and with an eye for goal mata, perrotti, downing etc

Not so much as rumour just an opinion. regarding the latest diego rumours, although lfc don't normally go for such flambount players cant help but think diego meets the criteria of the oweners. At only 26 he would surely have an add on value, which if successful at anfield would be much larger than what he was bought for( low asking price because of his rebillious attitude). what do you think eds would u like to see him at anfield? surely he would be at home with lucas and raul speaking portugese and a large spainish speaking contingent {Ed002's Note - Every time he is sold his value seems to halve. I certainly wouldn't use value alone the reason to buy anyone.}

31 May 2011 16:23:26
gerrad has played for liverpool all his life and apart from 1 or 2 seasons liverpool have been frankly poor so why should he go to madrid now of all times when we have new owners, better manager and better players to come.

31 May 2011 16:20:18
I noticed on KopTalk that Dunk has taken down some sections on the right hand side of the page: Aguero update, Young latest and Comolli meets 2 agents... Maybe, just maybe Dunk might be realising he's been talking rubbish all along :D

Morning Eds, do you have any idea why we haven't tried to sign Yohan Cabaye? He has a very minimal buyout clause and I'm wondering why only the Toon went for him. Is he just not good enough?

Adam {Ed002's Note - I have no idea why Liverpool have not tried to buy a player. Do you realise how ridiculous a question this is?}
**********
I don't think it is a ridiculous question. The report says he has been an 'integral part of Lille's double winning team' this year, therefore there is a good chance other teams in the Prem will have at least had a look at him at some point. I just wanted to know if there is a well known, shared reason amongst these teams for not making a move for him, especially as he is only 5 million Euros, i.e problems with attitude, health and fitness, or if it's common knowledge that he just isn't good enough.

Adam {Ed001's Note - there are no widely known reasons, but you may as well ask why none of the other players are signing deals with us as well.}
****
That's true, but in Liverpool's circumstance the other players being linked cost a lot more than 5 million Euros, which let's be honest, is a pittance in the footballing world. I guess this has underlined my naivety when it comes to scouting and transfers. I have a black and white perspective where if there is a good football player, who's contract makes him available, happy to move, and at a very cheap price then there should either be a queue of teams waiting to sign him or a well known 'reason' floating around out there to explain why there isn't!

kun aguero

Why would we sign two left wingers?

JUST THROWING IT OUT THERE. IF WE ARE GOING TO GO FOR ANOTHER STRIKER, WHY NOT ZAMORA (8-10 MILLION)
THEN USE THE MONEY TO BUY WHERE WE NEED TO BUY- THE WINGS AND A LEFT BACK.

50 MILLION TO SPEND, SAY 20 MILLION ON SALES = 70M. USE 10M ON ZAMORA, 15 ON A LB = 45 LEFT TO BUY 2 REALLY GOOD WINGERS.

HAS ZAMORA EVER BEEN LINKED TO US EDS

PHIL {Ed001's Note - he is not even close to good enough, why would we be looking at him? Hodgson has been sacked you know.}

LOL- AT EDS COMMENT. ALL I AM THINKING IS THAT CARROL- SAUREZ ARE FIRST CHOICE. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE LLORENTE, BUT WE AINT GETTING A STRIKER LIKE THAT BECAUSE OF FINANCE. ZAMORA HAS MATURED BEFORE HE GOT INJURED I SAW HIM RIP MAN URE APART. WHEN HE CAME ON AGAINST US IN THE 5-2 HE INSTANTLY GOT FULHAM GOING. HE IS GOOD ON THE BALL, HE CAN HOLD UP PLAY AND HE SCORES. WHY IS HE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. IT NOT LIKE I AM SAYING SELL CARROL AND REPLACE HIM, SIMPLY HE IS A GOOD BACK UP (BETTER THEN WE CURRENTLY HAVE AS BACK UP IN THAT ROLE

Manchester United target Ashley Young has made a decision on where his future lies, and has chosen to sign a deal with Liverpool, according to BBC Radio.

if he is gonna sign will v still b interested in perroti

and what position does McCarthy plays

Eds. Any news on the diego front, gud player but has attitude problems so probley wont move for him, also aqua is not wantd at juve so we originally wantd close to £14m bk for him i believe so y dont we try and offer him to inter in a swap deal involving eitha santon or coutinho ? {Ed002's Note - No news on Diego.}

31 May 2011 14:42:33
Is there any chance we will see a bit of Suso this year, all he needs is a bit of experience to better his decision making and we're onto a Mata of our own anyway, honestly, if he's good enough, he's old enough.

31 May 2011 14:42:06
I hope that we go out and get Royston Drenthe , quality left sided midfielder who could fill in at left back too. Would give us real quality and balance in the centre

Not just LFC fans spouting that they have gone from one of the countrys treasures to the most hated side in the country thanx to old whiskey nose.

Is the new quota British, or english players, because this is gonna send some clubs broke, the prices being quoted for english players alone is unbelievable, then if it's British, jesus christ Gareth Bale will break one club on his own. {Ed002's Note - There is no new quota. There is the homegrown quota that already exists. Nothing else.}

honest appraisal of what i d hope to happen in summer

1 iazzaguire for left back, better than enrique , not as good as baines but everton unlikely to sell, 8 million
2 balazs dzudsak 13 million, left wing great cross, quick and scores
3 perrotti 12 million right wing, very skillful footballer, would suit the pass and move system very well
4 scott dann birmingham 6-8 million, scouser lfc at heart good option at centre back
5 sissoko 10 million, good attacking option in midfield
6 marveaux good cover for left wing and attacking midfielder

and thats it, i d be happy with this

31 May 2011 13:50:03
I have been told from my source in Spain that the Mata deal is gathering pace now he is willing to come to the premierleague (to liverpool) and we are willing to pay the price. Also aguero is 90% sure to come to the premier L. As for close deals enrique and adam however I'm confused on the LB situation because according to reports vargas was bid for although I don't think this is reliable. Back ups seem to be downing and diego but that's last resort. Perotti situation well being resumed tomorrow also. My source is reliable SHE is apart of Marca and also knows Balague very well. However these words are not from Balague just to point out. Believe me or not up to you. but most of my tweets are spanish related.. Makes sense no?

Mate the only thing you said there that i couldnt have (without a source) is about the Mata deal the rest is common knowledge and that deal is inevitably not going to happen.

we dont need another striker but if 1 more comes in it will be good for us, because of the fear and competition with each other and they will player even better to get starting places, especially for carroll to perform.

we should sell ngog first! then look into bojan, Kun, podolski or gomes.. if we get 1 above including wingers such as elia which is a must i hope. than we will bring back the glory days.

our defence is good as it is, it was just a bad season with all the problems.

Sergio Aguero 5-1 to join us
4th favoites behind real madrid chelsea man city then liverpool

not long ago we have no change getting someone like that. but i think there could be something in it

5/1 is not bad odds

---------------------------------------------------

Odds are determined by bets being placed. Two years ago we were 10 to 1 to buy Frank Ribery after they quoted real madrid 90 million for the player. I would not take the bookies odds to be indicative of our chances of signing him as it is pure betting speculation.

Liverpool should go for Kevin Gameiro from Ligue 1 in France. Will become a superstar in 2-3yrs if he join a big club. Could be a backup at liverpool instead of Ngog (Player exchange).
What happens if suarez is injured for lets say 1 month (god forbid) who will replace him from the bench?? I would go for Lavezzi from napoli. exciting player to have, .. coming from the bench.

Ashley Young after he's prefering over the Man Utd, and trying to sign 1 more winger( Mata, Lennon, Perotti, ..)

Just to clarify... Is the English transfer window open tomorrow? For example, we could sign Adam/Young/Enrique tomorrow but not Perotti/Mata/Elia etc... until July 1st... Is this correct Eds? {Ed002's Note - Right.}

Just heard on radio 5 live last night that wesley sneider would probaly go to man united luca modric to chelsea and ashley young to liverpool so i this true does ed also think liverpool could also get stewart downing and also if liverpool need a new striker what about shane long after he missed promotion in the playoff final {Ed002's Note - If you heard it on the radio it has to be true. Refer to earlier discussion abot Downing and Long.}

31 May 2011 13:04:04
The reason why Marveux has not signed is because we are after Perroti. Adam is not an option, Young to Manchester United have him, same with Friedel to Spurs, lots of smoke and mirrors going on. Dann looks like a great option with the other mentioned (Jones etc being more smoke) Aquaman could be a Red next season and can we shift out Pouslon, Insua, Ngog ??? If Aqua goes I hope we get Defour instead. As for strikers no way are we getting Wickham he is way too expensive.
I would love to take a risk on Diego, expect the following LFC signings
Dann, Perroti, LB, RW, STKR, CM there is plenty of cash there and potential a few offloads

How strong are the Witsel links ed? {Ed002's Note - How would you like this measured? There has been interest in Witsel from both PSV and Liverpool, but the player has an oft stated ambition to play for Arsenal. Arsenal may or may not be interested in the player who remains best known for his leg breaking tackle on Marcin Wasilewski.}

As in, is any interest strong enough to put in a strong bid for the player? If so, do you think the player would move here?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what a "strong bid" is, but as I say the player has an ambition to play for Arsenal so he would certainly be willing to move to England.}

31 May 2011 12:53:35
Why are people complaining about wingers who 'cut inside too often'? i would say they are ideal - the reason we destroyed birmingham and fulham were how versatile the attack was - Raul and Maxi both cutting in, Suarez and Kuyt drifting wide - the defence didnt know where to go or who to mark!

what we need are guys that can drift in and out just like Young, Mata, etc who would create a lot more in attack than guys who just 'feed to Carroll'

31 May 2011 12:52:00
i don't know who tell this negative about perotti ! i am from sevilla, spain and believe me perotti is a genius .great crosser of the ball can make feints, quick scissors ! just like suarez.he was the highest assist maker this season for sevilla.
and those you tube can make a s**t player looking world class and a great player looking s**t !!!

Can someone please explain to me how Bale is worth 50 mill? Had a decent first half of season and then faded to average. The Spuds, fueled mainly by the media, got all carried away that he was the next Messi. The only club stupid enough to pay anywhere near that would be Citeh! Red77

31 May 2011 12:37:09
I think ashley young is a strong probability considering how silent everything has gone with him , normally thinks like this happen it happened with suarez. We all thought talks went silent with Ajax and all of a sudden we signed him and i think this will happen with young.

31 May 2011 12:34:21
Hi ed do you think any signings will be announced tomorrow or in the next couple of days? And how likely do you think it would be for Liverpool to spend over 50 mil? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea when any announcements will be made nor what the expenditure will end up being.}

31 May 2011 12:31:12
in the transfer window i expect liverpool to buy a couple of players including a LB CB 3 wingers and maybe a ST.
these players could be
Emilio Izaguirre
scott dann/phil jones
Juan Mata
Marveaux
Perotti
Shane Long
but liverpool have great potential because of the youngsters we have like coady flanagan ayala wisdom sterling and suso these are all great players
especially suso he pace short passing and long passing and skill are awesome!

31 May 2011 12:27:12
Hey Ed in left wing Mata and in right wing whom do u prefer elia or perotti or Downing. plz answer it and also tell me who is likely to come?? {Ed002's Note - I does not tell you who is the more likely to come, just my preference for Perotti, other eds would answer differently not doubt.}

A while back Liverpool where asking about bale and now totanham have said he can go for 50 mil and we were asking 40 . Reckon we bid 10 mill more??
-----------------------------------
That's a very interesting point. Spurs would probably prefer he went abroad than to a side they'll be challenging domestically. But we'd be mad not to negotiate our previous position...

Merseyswimmer
-----------------------------------

There are plenty of better options than Bale. Yes, he had a spectacular start to the season, but he's not that consistent and the second half of the season has shown that he's injury prone and too easy to knock over. Not worth paying over £20m, if that, for a player like that.

31 May 2011 12:21:47
Some of the names we have been linked with are ridiculous, some are simply not interested, whilst others are simply not good enough. I think it's pretty well received that the management shared with certain players I.e pepe, there general plans for the summer. I somehow doubt that players like downing convinced him to stay! Don't get me wrong he's a good player, but there were names in the pot that obviously were enough to convince the senior boys that the club is heading in the right direction, so I for one feel a little more optimistic. The players kk plans dc pick will be the right players. Lemon

SKY SPORTS
Atletico Madrid general manager Miguel Angel Gil Marin has said star striker Sergio Aguero will not be heading for arch rivals Real Madrid.

Argentine international Aguero, 22, has openly declared his desire to leave Atletico and hinted his destination could be Spanish capital neighbours Real.

But Atletico are standing firm and insist the player's buy-out clause of 45million (£39m) was the asking place for everyone - apart from Real Madrid.

"He (Aguero) is not going to go to Real Madrid, " Gil Marin said in El Larguero.

"I called (Real president) Florentino (Perez) to ask him if we could maintain this commitment to not being hostile and he agreed.

"Either a club, that is not Real Madrid, comes in and puts 45m on the table or he stays at Atletico Madrid. We don't want to negotiate with anyone."

English trio Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked with Aguero, but so far Juventus are the only side to officially register their interest.

"Atletico Madrid don't have any offers, only a fax from Juventus saying they want to negotiate, " Gil Marin said.

"It is a letter saying they are keen to negotiate, but Atletico don't want to negotiate."

Atletico want an end to the saga within the next fortnight and have set a 15th June deadline to conclude any deal.

"We want a decision before 15th June because it is a decision that has huge implications on our sporting plan, " Gil Marin added.

sounds like we have a shot for great signing here..

From what I have seen of him I believe that liverpool should be actively pursuing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Class player with a composure that belies his young age + highly skilled and one of the best talents in the UK

I hope we are not interested in downing from Villa. He is not that good. Quite over-rated.

31 May 2011 11:42:44
ed please answer this, im sorry i cant find it.

1. who was the player that DC said would be a replacement for Gerrard?

2. a personal opinion, but i'd like ur view ed. people are saying that we need to sign backup strikers. i dont think we should. N'gog is a nono for me n i think we should sell him, but i believe pacheco can become useful. given the chance he might just prove to be good. should'ev kept Lauri Dalla Valle maybe?

thanks.
Kaizer from Malaysia {Ed002's Note - (1) Sissoko of Toulouse - but he was talking about the long-term; (2) I am told that Pacheco proved to be a difficult player to seal with - albeit he is clearly very talanted.}

Hi Ed :
As the transfer window is just around the corner I think for a bit of fun we should start a (realistic signings table). The winner gets crowned at the end of the window, then we start it again next year, any objections ?
Slider. {Ed002's Note - I have no objections if you want to make the effort to maintain it.}

A while back Liverpool where asking about bale and now totanham have said he can go for 50 mil and we were asking 40 . Reckon we bid 10 mill more??

---

Being able to run really fast for 90 mins does not make a player worth 40-50mil. He is a good player, but worth no more than 20 mil. His price has been hyper inflated by a combination of two great champs league games and the english press.

Mata is a much better option.

Imagine we get Bale...Hazard...Cahil...Aguro...Coentrao...Mvilla! We would be better than Barca!

we are getting marveaux, mata, dann, adam and lavessi outlay 45m, recouped will be 10m aqua man will be returning and will take joe coles place on bench- fact

>>>This Is Anfield. We buy massively overrated players for exorbitant fees, thus remaining stagnant for a further 15 years

Or,

>>>This Is Anfield. We buy quality players for appropriate fees and wages before they are smashed by the hype train, allowing for a sustainable business model for the future

See anfield index for Bale stats... he was average all season apart from 2 champions league matches. Most overrated player in the premiership.

Why don't we sign Scott Sinclair from Swansea Fc, he is very good player. He could be cheap, young and talented.We sign him and loan him back to Swansea Fc.
-----------------------------------------------------
thats a very good shout mate..
i am from wales, not far from swansea and i was loving it yesterday to see a welsh team go to the prem for the first time, however liverpool is my first team, and always will be ofcourse..
scott sinclair-22- scored 27 goals (19 in league) joint fourth scorer in the leauge.
i think that we should do a deal that sees him stay at swansea until january/summer, and also offer a cut price deal for ngog to go to them.
they will be looking for a striker now as they haven't got borini ( going back to chelsea).
this means swansea keep their winger for another season/half, and also get a striker.. and we will then get a brilliant winger with prem experience. Thanks Ed.

{Ed002's Note - Borini will not be returning to Chelsea. He is out of contract and will likely move to Parma.}
---------------------------------------------------
oh is he Ed, thanks i didn't know that, but either way it doesn't seem like he will be at swansea next season. Do you think the deal i mentioned could work ? Thanks Ed. {Ed001's Note - Sinclair is simply not good enough, has an attitude problem, is a ball hog and will not be joining us.}

31 May 2011 11:00:08
to the guy who said we should sign scott sinclair, i wouldnt bother, hes a poor mans ashley young and i dont think we should sign him, sinclair has looked excellent in a lower standard of football, he's greedy with the ball, loves to try an showboat and i think he wont make the grade at a higher level otherwise chelsea would've kept him

ed your thoughts ? {Ed002's Note - It is MOTD Fever, that is all.}

yeah i thought so, if liverpool were to sign a player from the championship ( very unlikely ) i would go for snodgrass of leeds, he's a more mobile version of charlie adam, what dya think ? {Ed001's Note - he is nothing like Adam, Snodgrass is a mobile winger or striker, whereas Adam is an overweight central midfielder with Molby's mobility.}

Sad to see Houllier is leaving Villa by mutual consent due to his health. Hope he finds a less stressful way of enjoying football in the future.

he certainly wont be at anfield watching us then, sometimes this season ive felt my chest tighten up

31 May 2011 10:55:09
The other day Darren bent said he will have to consider his future at villa if downing and young leave . Get downing and bent as package 35 mill both .

31 May 2011 10:54:13
Been told fee and personal terms agreed with Juan Mata. Only a medical left to go. But done expect the deal to be announced soon as this is valencias wishes(to avoid player prices being inflated) while they find someone to replace him.

Question is who have you been told by?

31 May 2011 10:49:06
Which 5 players would you say are most likely to come to liverpool this summer? Diego? Perotti? Dann? Mata?

31 May 2011 10:46:24
This Summer is going to be the biggest and most important Summer for Liverpool in recent history. FSG were absolutely gutted they didn't spend more in the January transfer window which proves their intent to spend on quality players to make us better. The important fact is that in January, they didn't spend a penny as the signings of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll were covered by the sales of Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel. Kenny and Comolli have been informed that the money that was already available in January will be again available in the Summer. Luis Suarez was coming to Anfield whether Torres stayed or not, so we definitely have an extra £23m for the Summer. I for one am extremely excited about what is going to happen this Summer, with a good clearout of the deadwood and the addition of a few quality players, I think we will be a force again next season!

Paul Scholes has announced his retirement. Even though I dont like the spam, Paul Scholes has been a brilliant player throughout his career and I wish him well. He has been the heartbeat of Fergies career and will be missed. Good luck in the future Scholesy......the Manu ship is sinking so its definitely a good time to jump !!! the current crop of players couldnt tie your bootlaces !!!
IS THIS A JOKE I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WOULD PRAISE A MAN U PLAYER WHAT A JOKE ANOTHER CONKER IN MY EYES ED (suarez's left ball) {Ed001's Note - I am sorry but you are just a bit pathetic if you can't give praise where praise is due. d i can remember hearing a while back the thomas ince isnt signing a new contract. What ever happened nd is he still a liverpool player? {Ed001's Note - negotiations were ongoing last I heard, but he is being greedy, partly thanks to his father, and is not good enough deserve the contract he is asking for.}

I heard a while back that Warrior sports were taking over from Adidas as our kit sponsor at the end of next season. Is this true?

Keep up the good work lads. {Ed002's Note - Yes it is true.}

Looks like someone has had a bit of fun this morning on Wiki stating Diego Perotti's current club is Liverpool!!

I know nothing about the player to be honest, can the Ed's help by giving any info on him, would he be a good buy if we were to sign him and what are his main strengths and what would he add to the team??

Tugger {Ed001's Note - good crosser of the ball, quick and good with the ball, but he is a little bit lightweight.}

Predictions for the week.

Monday - A little talk of Swansea players notably Sinclair. Hype building on Hazard or Gervinho with Payet looking Lillie bound.

Tuesday - Lukaka, Chelsea will be upping there activity and Liverpool fans will want in on the move.

Wednesday - Is Pastore day

Thursday - Left back day, hype building around the 15 left backs we're clearly going to sign.

Friday - it's Aguero day! Actually its bloody Aguero day every single day

Enjoying your usual banter Ed2 and finding Ed13 remarkably happy, fair play. Is Ed1 on holiday?

Morning Eds, do you have any idea why we haven't tried to sign Yohan Cabaye? He has a very minimal buyout clause and I'm wondering why only the Toon went for him. Is he just not good enough?

Adam {Ed002's Note - I have no idea why Liverpool have not tried to buy a player. Do you realise how ridiculous a question this is?}

Hey ed just wondering why its gone so quite on the rumours front, i mean apart from this site im seeing very little about players claiming interest etc is this as a result of the ongoing talks taking place with players such as Mata or is there just very little going on so early in the market? thanks ed {Ed002's Note - It is very early and many players are on vacation.}

verpool ave agree personal terms with two players ..... mata and mccartey

still waiting for the clubs to agree a fee though

*********************************
Nonsense, that would be tapping up, not the way its done i'm afraid. A fee is first agreed then the club may allow the player to talk to the club, they cant just go and talk to players about wages, the club the player belongs to must give permission for their player to talk to another club

*********************************

That is not entirely true, Seller clubs can allow Buyer clubs to negotiate personal terms before a fee is finalised. Not that we have agreed personal terms with Mata or McCarthy yet.

**********************

Yeah he's right once the club is expecting to sell the player they give permission to discuss terms first

What if anything has been said lately of that extremely tall striker with the last name of traore? I think he plays for Cluj. I remember talk of him in the January transfer window.

31 May 2011 02:21:50
And yes.... Carroll will fit into a 4-3-3 formation as CF as he will be able to hold the ball up, he can score with his feet too you know?, he may not track back too often either, but do we really want him to?

{Ed002's Note - I assume this is a spoof post. But just in case it is not, please let me know when Neymar arrives at Anfield (for first team football and further development) and I will drive up to welcome him. And your concrete evidence about Aguero is, I assume, gleaned from KopTalk. I have indeed said that the chances of Aguero joing Liverpool are slim. Obviously your failure to sign your post and you remaining anonymous means that no-one will remember it it two months time I am afraid.}

k ed if your gonna take that tone with my posting reliable information from someone within the club. I am more ITK then you will ever be and the fact that Neymar has recognised that melwood has the best training facilities in the world and he wants to link up with the same Barca coaches which trained up Messi. Messi was his idol which can be easily found on the internet. Neymar is 90% likely to join Liverpool i have been informed. He has repeated quoted his desire to join us and can see just how good coach Kenny is. He is not interested in the money but more in fulfiling the potential he has got. And he feels Liverpool is the best club to go to as he will be guarenteed first team football along with Aguero. The conbined fee will be 70m. We will also sign Gervinho and a young 17 year old winger to add cover to the wings. The LB we buy would be Coentrao but he favours a move to RM because they are willing to pay him higher wages. FACT. We have enquired about Marcelo but DC perfers Cissokho. For a CB both Subotic and Sakho have been enquired about. DC wants Sakho and Kenny wants Subotic. The CM we will be signing wil be McCarthy because he is an ideal replacement for Gerrard but he will be loaned out to Wigan for a year. Finally we will be signing Honda for the creative midfield and to invest into the asian market. This is all fact ed002 so you can either believe it of just complain.

Overall the ins will be:

Neymar
Aguero
Sakho/Subotic
McCarthy
Honda
Marcelo/Cissokho
+some young players under 19.

We will be looking to line up like this

Reina
Johnson Carragher Subotic Marcelo
Lucas Gerrard
Suarez Aguero Neymar
Carroll.

This is accurate ed's. I have sources within the club and im very close to a few lets just say, members of staff.

Liverpool will spend big to get the players they want, not second choices or whatever's left. They will increase the quality and depth of the squad so we can be title contenders and the funds are in place

31 May 2011 01:50:18
Realistically targets and possible Ins;
Left wing - mata, perotti
Right wing - Payet, Young , Affellay
left back - vergas, Izaguirre, Enrique
Central midfield- Sissoko, Matudi, Adam, Maccarthy
Center back - Dann, Sakho
Strikers- Gervinihio, Chu-Young Park

From these targets the likely ones to join us are
Dann, Maccarthy, Vergas, Payet, Mata and Chu-Young Park.
what do you think about these 6 players ED???
I do believe next season we will still follow sakho and sissoko.

Miccmak {Ed005's Note - Would be pleased, not delighted. But delighted with Mata individually.}

31 May 2011 01:45:18
I have also noticed on this site that there are a lot of people confusing the wing position with the left or right midfield position, wingers would be used as a part of a front 3, not 3 strikers, Suarez is a winger by trade, as are Mata, Messi and Perotti, although at times they play a more central role or even as part of a 4-4-2, they are better suited to more attacking play, such as a 4-3-3, where they do not need to play such a defensive role. Downing, Young, Larsson and Giggs type players are all Left and Right midfield player, there for giving width and delivering crosses, aswell as a bit more defending, so the club has to decide whether we play with wingers or a 4 or 5 man midfield with left and right mids, personally i'd rather wingers and let the fullbacks deliver the bulk of the crosses, and have a front 3 playing wherever they want up from causing chaos, it's far less predicatable... look at barca.

31 May 2011 01:38:56
Lucas has been overrated. Shouldn't be in the first 11. Many many many better players than him out there. McCarthy and Adam are a step up but not much of one. I think we should buy a real CDM and not some central attacking midfielder who came from brazil. I think he should be a squad player at best. If not, sell him for 10 million and bring back aqua and then buy someone like M'Vila to play along side Gerrard or Aqua

Not a rumour that may interest most people. Some of my family members were in the city centre today and bought clothes from the Liverpool store in Williamson Square and then went to the Thorntons Cafe. Phil Thompson was in the cafe and my aunty got speaking to him and explained something my 6 year old cousin had said about FT. She said " FT is not in the circle of trust anymore". He replied saying he didn't want to talk about him and had said enough on the subject. My aunty then went on to say that my cousin could do a good job on Sky Sports to which he replied "She could have my job the way things are going". Seems something strange is going on in Sky Sports. He is the most decorated pundit on the TV show. Instead they've got GN on. He also said he couldn't bare watching the CL final Saturday in case MU won and he wouldn't hear the end of it!

31 May 2011 01:32:15
if we sign:

Sakho
Dann
Izaguirre
Johnson
Perotti
Bojan

then forget about just making the top 4...we will be in title contention!

I don't think we should sell Lucas. He is a pretty good player, but people saying that he will be the best defensive midfielder in 3 years. He is already 24, and has loads of experience. So I do not think he will get a lot better over the years. Our main priority this summer should be a new winger, for sure. Someone who can outpace every other player on the field. Tired of seeing Kuyt on the wings, he is so slow...

When people say we should sell Lucas, don't have a go at them, their entitled to their opinion. Lucas had alot of decent performances in a very poor season. Lucas is definitely still for me not a 1st teamer unless we play 5 in midfield. When people say they want to see Lucas going it's because he ain't no Souness nor and Alonso or even a Mascherano, he's very one dimensional and doesn't really awe the fans. He's a rare no nonsense central Midfielder who we expected more from when we signed him. The main frustration with him at times is HD gives the ball away at the wrong times in the game and tends not to look behind him, Thanks to the fans at home he doesn't need to. At the moment there are several players out there that could quite easily take his position. That's why I can understand the ridicule. But I would definitely not sell him now, we have other positions which are priority.

During the second half of the European cup final Alex Ferguson remonstrated with the fourth official and demanded a ball be introduced to the game. The puzzled official informed Alex that there was already a ball on the pitch.

" I know" said Ferguson " but Barcelona are using that one..."

I still believe we will sign Young and Adam..

Macca

------

In Macca we trust. Both good additions to the squad but the fantasy in me is praying for Mata.

Cool, so the Ed's on this site not only offer opinion on rumours they can also answer questions that are nothing to do with site or Liverpool FC,

Please can you help me, I've forgot my username to my sky account, what should I do ??? {Ed001's Note - hmmm do you have all the sports packages? It would save me paying if I had your details, I could just watch the footie online ;o)}

will maxi still be at liverpool next season and i hope we sell lucas

------------------------------

Whoever posted that is a total muppet. Lucas Leiva was our best player this season and will be one of the best defensive midielders in the world in 2-3 years time if not sooner. The Brazil side is based around him and he is just gonna keep getting better. Moving to new signings i hope to god we get Hazzard before anyone else, the kid is gonna be huge in a few years time and even if we have to pay over the top i think we should. I also heard a rumour that Enrique is going to Bayern which isnt all that bad, very over rated.
