Anwar El Ghazi looks like a good young winger. Watched him a fair few times since we've been linked and I thought I'd give my opinion on him as a player seeing as Edoo2 dropped his name earlier.

Pros:
Excellent technique, good first touch, very quick, difficult to knock off the ball, skillful, very direct, two footed, good in the air.

Cons:
Crossing is inaccurate, greedy, does a lot of pointless step overs, goes missing for large periods in the game, shirks his defensive duties.

Reminds me a bit of a young Ronaldo in terms of playing style. Very much a direct, goal scoring wide player. Could be worth signing at a reasonable price. He had a very weak second half of the season though, so he isn't a finished article right now. Under Klopp though, he could be a special talent.

Just thought I'd add as well, Bazoer is the Ajax player I'd be after out of all of them.

Reminds me of a young coutinho minus the aerial ability.
An imrovement of the possible youth that could be brought through? I don't think so.

30 May 2016 23:33:32
Honestly buddy, he is nothing like Coutinho. Who is still young now just to add ;)

30 May 2016 23:48:16
Sheyi Ojo has to play in the first team next season IMO.
This kid has got it all. He's the nearest thing to Digger I've ever seen. He has pace, he can dribble, he scores goals and crosses all at a very high level. The things that impress me most about him are his balance and his vision. I would not be looking at any young "wingers" when we have Ojo. I can't believe that any of them will be ahead of him in 6 months time. He will be better than anything we can buy. Klopp has to be brave in this transfer window and resist buying too many players. With the likes of Ojo and Brannagan knocking on the door we don't need more bodies, we just need to play better as a team and integrate these youngsters. We have a keeper, we're targeting left backs, Grujic is coming so I think we can look at selling players from now on.

Ron, Ojo is nothing like u mention. Occasional beating of man and crossing. His first touch is horrible and losses possession easily.

31 May 2016 02:32:38
Agree ron.

31 May 2016 09:45:46
Ron, the same we said about Ibe prior to this season?

31 May 2016 11:28:27
Ojo has demonstrated more skill in a 1on1 than Ibe who is more of a knock it past and run player, in just a few glimpses Ojo has shown he has skill and a pretty good delivery which is something we've been missing terribly for years now. Perhaps it's worth a look in pre season with him and benteke together? I'm not ready to totally give up on him yet.

31 May 2016 15:04:22
I think Ojo is ahead of Ibe in his potential.
My point is Ojo will be excellent in 6 months time so I don't think we should gamble on these expensive wingers in the meantime.

31 May 2016 15:31:23
Don't want to build him up too much as he's young and will be inconsistent but Ojo seems to make far better decisions than Ibe at the moment, is better passer of the ball, better crosser and perhaps even a better finisher. Both have pace but Ibe's strongest attribute was his dribbling however his confidence being so low he's not playing to his best right now.

Overall I have greater confidence Ojo has the potential to be there better all round player. I really want to see him given game time next season, I get the sense he could be a rashford or Alli type surprise package.

30 May 2016 21:21:28
Looking forward to pre season already I think this is a big summer for the club, in terms of players. I just hope we don't end up with any players injured on international duty. We've had a rough time of late with injuries and a clear pre season would help no end.

I'm looking forward to seeing the likes of Flannagan, Ings and Gomez returning from injury. All still very young and will feel like three new signings. In addition these we also have three new signings in Grujic, Karius and Matip. It's safe to say more will arrive also.

I always forget about loanees, but there's a chance both Markovic and Alberto could impress and still be part of the team next season.

Hopefully another plus will be if Sahko is cleared and can return playing. Fingers cross on that one.

We also have the youngsters who impressed at the end of last season Ojo, Brannagan and Stewart should all feature again.

For me the signs already look promising for next season, and there's till some outgoing so and in comings to happen.

Ed, do you think now would be the right for FSG to sell up? financially I mean and if we sold to China, should we be worried?

Thanks.

I wonder if it's the rumours that circled at the start of April linking us to a takeover by the brother of Man City's owner?

30 May 2016 11:59:50
Ed002 is it true in a recent press conference Antonio Ottaiano the agent of Lorenzo Insigne ...............

30 May 2016 12:56:53
Hey everyone

I haven't posted for 12 days because it's taken me that long to get over losing against Sevilla. Anyway onwards and upwards.

Weighing in on the FSG debate I think they've been responsible and honorable owners. Yes they've made mistakes, quite a few actually but they were new to Football so that was to be expected, but their intentions have always been transparent. FSG have spent astonishing amounts of money to make us competitive and if it's true they are selling up I wish them well and hope the new owners buy into the Liverpool way and allow us to compete with the big boys.

In other news I truly hope we sign Dahoud. That kid is a superstar in the making. A Dahoud, Can midfield would be a thing of beauty. None of our current midfielders are comfortable setting up play from deep and doing the nitty gritty. Milner is awful at it, Hendo and Can, Grujic, Allen are organically more offensive so Dahoud would be ideal and he has a pass on him and can score a goal. If indeed Zielenski is going elsewhere then it gives me hope that our pursuit of Dahoud will be fruitful because the kids the real deal and will only get better.

Organically? Can you lettuce all know what that means?

30 May 2016 21:43:56
Hey what about lucas and stewaet!? Anyways ye, our midfield is really imbalanced. And dahoud would bring some quality for sure.

30 May 2016 23:46:00
Very good MK Scouser. Made me chuckle.

Just wondering, what are the chances of getting a work permit for Allan this summer? I've seen he's been called up to the Brazil U-20 squad and reports suggest he's a great talent (although I've never seen him play tbh) .

We're linked with spending £20m plus on Dahoud, who does look a class player, but isn't much older than Allan, who we already have on the books.

30 May 2016 12:26:09
These 2 are completely different players.

30 May 2016 12:47:04
OK, like I say I've never seen him play yet but saw they're both young midfielders. I'm curious whether we can add him to the squad by getting a work permit and not needing to splash a lot of cash.

30 May 2016 14:50:02
a new contract might just be what is needed? if i'm not mistaken ed002 mentioned a new rule which does depend on the salary or something like that. i might be wrong, not trying to say that is what we should do, just giving some info.

{Ed002's Note - Allan cannot get a work permit and is going on a one year loan.}

30 May 2016 18:25:04
thanks for clearing that up 002.

31 May 2016 08:17:34
Hopefully he gets a good club in a good league and progresses nicely.

30 May 2016 10:35:11
Ed1 on the subject of youngsters which ones do you see featuring most next season? Would you say Stewart, Ojo and Brannagan? Maybe Ibe depending what happens with his future?

Believable3 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - those in and around the squad last season will get chances.}

30 May 2016 10:57:03
I think Stewart has shown he has the ability to start games, as a defensive midfielder he's only got Lucas for competition and is more physical that him. He's also a few years older than the others. Ojo has shown he is capable of making an impact, will he prove he is good enough to start yet over one of coutinho, lallana firmino, I'd hope he's shown enough promise. I'd like to see him in the first team In a meaningful competitive game, I have a feeling he'd raise it. Say coutinho firmino and ojo off a striker.

Branagan it's more difficult as he is better through the middle, but I feel he deserves a chance.

30 May 2016 11:12:10
Stewart deserves a chance and definitely a great replacement for Lucas but I do worry for Ibe. Branagan and Ojo should be fine.

30 May 2016 12:36:05
Ed. Any insight as to why Spurs let Stewart go?
Doesn't seem to be egotistical or problematic. His talent is clearly there?
As a Liverpool fan I'm obviously pleased they did but baffled?

{Ed001's Note - they didn't feel he was going to make the grade.}

30 May 2016 16:18:10
Ojo will be class. I'd have had him coming off the bench most games last season.

30 May 2016 17:57:46
Spurs didn't think Stewart would make the grade yet played Ryan Mason in the first team?! Sometimes I wonder if these coaches/ scouts know anything about football at all!

30 May 2016 19:27:35
Pips.
Previously on here Ed said that Kane was no good as youngster and if Spurs could of found a striker at the right price. He was going to be off.
Football is a funny old game mate.

29 May 2016 20:05:15
Would just like to thank all the Eds for all the hardwork and time they put into this site! You guys are not nearly appreciated enough so thank you so much! My question is, do any of you Eds or my fellow reds know which of the under 18's or 21's that haven't exactly burst onto the scene just yet are the most highly rated? Cheers in advance!

Believable7 Unbelievable9

{Ed001's Note - off the top of my head, Bobby (the lad we got from Barca), Yan Dhanda and, at one time, Harry Wilson. Those are the ones that get mentioned most.}

30 May 2016 08:38:42
Thanks Ed001, I hope some of these will make it on the pre-season tour so that we can get a better look at them!

30 May 2016 10:53:20
Toni Gomes being another.

30 May 2016 11:27:22
Think it's Bobby Adekanye you're thinking of Ed, it would also be great to see Yan Dhanda make a breakthrough as I think he would be the first Indian born player to represent Liverpool.

30 May 2016 10:52:21
Adam Phillips, Ben Woodburn, Ejaria.

29 May 2016 12:42:31
Eds in the event that sakho is officially exonerated in regards to the banned substance which is looking highly likely at this stage, does he or Liverpool have any comeback against the relevant authorities?

I guess I'm looking for some reason to have e. l. Final replayed.

Regards

Niall.

Believable0 Unbelievable21

{Ed002's Note - Of course not - he failed the drug test. If he is cleared on the technical argument he should count himself very lucky indeed. Liverpool have an awful disciplinary record in Europe this year and are hardly going to rock the boat - or do you fancy games behind closed doors or a travel ban on the Liverpool fans?.}

30 May 2016 02:52:58
the el final will never be replayed. we should move on from that subject.

30 May 2016 08:50:24
Kolo, his replacement, was our best player in his absence. People need to get over it.

30 May 2016 09:50:07
Replay it and have an even bigger 2nd half meltdown?
All the players have been off for a few weeks. None of them will have retained match fitness. Some have been doing international training. Who's going to host the game? All the fans need to get tickets, the draw for tickets would need to happen again after everyone re-registers. TV companies need to be lined up. When is it going to take place with the Euros and other international tournaments about to take place?
It is not going to happen. We lost the Final fair and square, onwards to next season.

30 May 2016 11:22:05
Replay the EL final?!
Absolute farcical comment and I can only hope you were joking mate! Besides, Toure was one of, if not, our best player on the night. If only Moreno had popped a few fat burners instead of sakho.

30 May 2016 15:10:22
Blimey, replay the final? Are they serious? If he wasnt/ isn't cleared, do you think we should have replayed the game vs United because he was on substances for it?

31 May 2016 02:59:18
Why is this even a conversation?
