So halfway stage, level with Utd 10. clear of chelski, who would have taken that at the start of the season, I would.
The 9 behind Leicester/ Arsenal I try to ignore, helps me sleep at nights.
Gotta say Spurs look a good bet for the title.

30 Dec 2015 23:35:30
Spurs? Erm ok. With villa as runners up then.

31 Dec 2015 06:16:41
I'm not Spurs biggest fan but why not? Defensively strong, Ericsson and Ali playing consistently well and a striker that can't stop scoring, if he had started the season well they would probably be top now, and with reports they are looking for another striker in January, they are the dark horses this year.

31 Dec 2015 08:37:22
Can't see Spurs winning it, but very consistent and hard to beat, got to be up there.

31 Dec 2015 12:39:56
Spurs have drawn too many, but they look solid at the back, and haven't lost any badly, unlike city and Arsenal. If they buy 1/ 2 they have a chance, still don't think chandli, lamela and Townsend quite cut it, and there full backs are all average.

30 Dec 2015 22:09:12
Is Klopp getting more agitated recently?

Believable9 Unbelievable0

30 Dec 2015 22:18:35
Watching the wasted opportunities and wastefulness in possession its easy to see why though.

30 Dec 2015 22:42:32
I know I am going to get slated for this, but please remind me how we are playing better under Klopp. Because I can't see any improvement or consistency since the beginning of the season.

30 Dec 2015 22:55:50
Another good result. It really is frustrating how wasteful we are. we got away with it in the last two games but we will not keep clean sheet in every game. You can forgive Benteke for the terrible miss at the end as he scored one, and you hope coutinho will find his foot again (he does have 5 Pl goals this season) but Firmino, Ibe and Lallana not good enough in front of goal, not only today but throughout the whole first round.

We must be better in the last third in the second round because we scored in the first round as many goals as Norwich and Bournemouth and less than Chelsea.

30 Dec 2015 23:04:41
I think that in general, we're defending better, 64.

30 Dec 2015 23:12:15
We've been a bit hit or miss under Klopp, but generically I'd say we've been much better defensively than under Rodgers and while we're not scoring loads largely, when we do it's not been one off wonder goals like previously either.

30 Dec 2015 23:17:08
You don't think our defence has improved by a million percent?
we should have won 3 or 4 nil tonight.
we didn't because of bad luck and poor finishing but we're making chances.
We are streets ahead of the clueless performances under Rodgers.

30 Dec 2015 23:10:01
There's not a lot red, but we did look more solid. We have players like lovren looking like bargains. Our main downfall is creating plenty of opportunities and consistently not making them count and making the wrong choices.

It's slow and steady.

30 Dec 2015 23:21:57
It's not his team is it, he isn't responsible for any of the players being at the club and can only work with what he has been given. We are still in all competitions. I for one will only judge him after 3 yrs that B R had if you're asking us to compare the 2.

30 Dec 2015 23:27:46
I remember everyone sàying the same thing in the rodgers early days when it was clearly better than the season before.

Moaners will be moaners.

Players are improving, confidence is still low clearly, we have brought nobody in, and defending is a zillion times better. that's good enough right now for me.

The chances will get put away in time, don't forget origi, sturridge and ings all looked great for us and are now injured.

30 Dec 2015 23:33:30
Same team different manager. Let the guy bring in/ through suitable players for his formations and give him a chance. We might not make top four this year but with klopp we have a great manager, who in time will have us challenging on all fronts.

30 Dec 2015 23:38:49
we have clearly improved
Even with injuries we are putting in better shifts.
We are moving the ball quicker
We aren't just lumping it up to Benteke
The defense has in general improved vastly, with a lot more cover added.
We look much more of a threat going forward not relying on dodgy reffing decisions to earn points.
we aren't playing 5 at the back, and thus outnumbered up front constantly.
we are giving chances to players who were Brendaned
No more slow build up and constant passing at the back between skrtel and lovren.

take your pick from them.

30 Dec 2015 23:45:02
Red I think we're at least making lots of chances and defending better and we have a clear style of play. When we get more clinical in front of goal and start scoring more regularly from the attacking mids we'll be light years ahead of the toothless displays we showed under Rogers and the aimless passing around we saw before Klopp arrived.

31 Dec 2015 00:43:16
I can see your posts haven't improved since Klopp came in.

31 Dec 2015 04:46:38
I heard him shout "FIRMINO! " several times in todays game.

31 Dec 2015 07:13:02
Seriously, at least now we are playing football, previously under BR we are not playing football, just some tiki taka between CBs and Mig, get robbed off ball and lose. Next game its rinse repeat. Now we see the boys are competing actually.

31 Dec 2015 08:51:41
At home against "weaker" teams we are much the same when in possession.
Defenders are being "less stupid" now. Apart from Sakho's 'Cryuff turns', defenders are being allowed to clear the ball. There is no emphasis on them retaining possession at all costs.
I don't think we'd have seen 1-4 at Etihad, 1-3 at Stamford Bridge or 1-6 at St Mary's under Rodgers. We might even have struggled in the Europa.

What does anyone really expect. It is very very early days for the new manager who has been blighted by serious injuries. Time will tell.

30 Dec 2015 22:00:05
Another 3 points. For the boys in red. Let's go into 2016 with the k lopp passion. Well done lads. Lovren and sakho pleasing at the moment.

30 Dec 2015 23:23:18
You are deluded, they are playing terribly, and tonight epitomised what an uncoordinated bunch of individuals we currently have in the squad.
Take of the glasses (rose tinted)

31 Dec 2015 00:49:48
Agreed teeno. A solid away performance. Just need to build the consistency and confidence over the next few weeks.

31 Dec 2015 14:33:36
We are playing better under Klopp, we are much better in defence and also the players seem to look to have a bit more purpose about them.

Really you can't expect miracles Klopp hasn't been there that long and we have a very unbalanced team which doesn't offer much natural width.

We have a few players who really don't look up to scratch and a few who haven't quite settled and adjusted.

Klopp for me was the man for the job and in time it will come. We had 0 confidence when he took over and now climbing slowly up the table he will eventually have the players in the positions he wants and a nicely balanced team playing good football. Just give it time :)

30 Dec 2015 21:42:54
Alberto Moreno, Emre Can - Good players, always have been. Good win at Sunderland.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

30 Dec 2015 22:52:10
Can needs to improve distribution and tackling, Moreno to work on positional sense and tackling.

30 Dec 2015 23:47:29
Can made more passes than anyone on the pitch.

31 Dec 2015 00:30:14
RedSince, no one said they were perfect! You could at least give them some credit.

Hi Eds,

Little bit left field this one, but what is the situation with Geronimo Rulli?

On loan from a Uruguayan club to Real Sociedad, and has been for two seasons now. Apparently doing quite well there and has recently earned an international call up.

I assume that he will be leaving Deportivo Maldonado (bit confused why he hasn't already seeing as he is getting regular games in La Liga) .

But could he be an option for Liverpool if they were to look at replacing Migs? Or his he not good enough/ heading somewhere else.

Cheers all

Happy New Year!

dosent klopp look like he's robbed the liverpool store!

how does everyone rate klopp so far?

ed002 always appreciate your oponion
ed001 yours too mate

i think he has done well so far, got the team motivated and on his side, trying to get the crowd going from the moment they walk into the ground to after the final whistle! just been really unlucky with injuries. looking forward to the transfer windows to see what talent he brings in.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I really love what he has done.}

30 Dec 2015 15:57:32
i still on occasion can't believe he is here honestly believe he is are best signing in last ten years or more obviously there are going to be bumps on the way but he's are best chance of a tittle cheers.

30 Dec 2015 16:11:25
I think he's done well - it's hard coming in and changing how a team plays (especially with no pre-season or players that you have purchased) . He just needs some time.

30 Dec 2015 16:15:06
I agree Mike, seems ages since we had a top manager, Benitez was the best in a while, but had his flaws. Most players klopp signed for Dortmund seem to come good, his teams play good football and get results against the odds. With time he will succeed.

30 Dec 2015 11:07:10
Was wondering if anyone knew what is happening with Jerome Sinclair, thought this year was going the be the year he started getting his place on the team! Now I'm reading that city are interested in him as his contract runs out at the end of the season.

Cheers.

The Lad isn't ready yet, He went out on loan to Wigan and couldn't get a game. He thinks he's worth a bigger wage being offered, like Tom Ince did. The lad is a good finisher and could be worth trying to keep, but now he has Aidy Ward on board it looks like he will be leaving.

30 Dec 2015 13:17:11
Aidy ward is his agent so he's off imo . Hope we turn up tonight and play the right team .

30 Dec 2015 13:19:35
Happy new year to the editors and everyone else on this site, hope it's a good safe one for ye lot .

30 Dec 2015 13:26:13
We have been short on strikers this season already. He hasn't made the bench.
Says it all! No one is bigger than the club.

30 Dec 2015 08:42:41
Why do a lot of head coaches and coaching staff wear football boots during training and on the sideline?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

30 Dec 2015 09:43:24
Is this a serious question?

30 Dec 2015 09:58:22
So when the ball gets knocked to them and their first instinct is to get the ball they don't fall ass over tit!

30 Dec 2015 10:23:19
Probably so they just feel involved and also not to dirty there shoes.

30 Dec 2015 10:48:32
Martin O neill wears them for luck.

30 Dec 2015 12:20:12
So they don't fall over.
