hi eds.

I know its been a long time now but i was wondering why gerrard wanted to join chelsea all those years back?

thanks

PGM {Ed001's Note - money, Jose and titles.}

££££££££££££££££££ {Ed001's Note - it was more than just money to be fair.}

Also because the stupid Parry kept delaying and delaying contract talks with Stevie, until Kenny (was it him?), then advisor, stepped in to convince him that his future was with LFC. Am I right, ed?

SingRed

No winning in Istanbul kept him with us. {Ed001's Note - no, it was after Istanbul that he agreed terms with Chelsea. SingRed is correct that Dalglish was instrumental in his decision to stay.}

Hello fellow LFC fans,
I just want to start off by saying i'm extremely happy with our derby win! :D
And I'd like to follow that up by saying how I thought Tony Hibbert should have received a straight red card in my opinion, but Jack Rodwell should be commended for a fantastic challenge, however, I feel all events balanced themselves out justly.
Anyway, I saw some posts by ED001 the other day regarding enjoying being asked random questions about LFC, so I thought I'd give it a shot! xD
So ED001, from your past knowledge of LFC etc, who would you say was the most disliked player in our dressing room in the past 5 years? Was it Torres or somebody else?
Just felt like being random xD
Thanks all,
Hooch. {Ed001's Note - over the last five years, probably it was Torres, though he wasn't so much disliked as just not one of the lads. Unlike some of the others, who were liked by some and disliked by others, he never really had any close friends amongst the squad.}

I thought he was close to steven gerrard im sure i read a article saying how close he was to stevie g was quite supised to see you wrote he was unpopular he did seen to have a bad attitude tho
giblet {Ed001's Note - they weren't close at all, in fact there were a number of harsh words between them over Torres's refusal to go on team bonding nights. Like I sad though, it is not so much that he was unpopular, as that he wasn't one of the lads. He was an outsider.}

the MOTM award from the commentary team went to luis suarez for his tireless work off the ball during saturday's game which was a fair point as we are all aware of his workrate and desire.
but.....it's funny how rose tinted glasses and stats can show different sides to a game as andy carroll ran 6.77 miles against everton and luis suarez ran 6.61 in a sunday newspaper stats section.
this is no dig at luis, far from it. more a case of how it's easy to see good in certain individuals and the bad in others when the green hasn't been in their favour while regaining form and fitness.
food for thought for those still bickering fickle lfc fans.
i really think we are close to seeing the form he displayed at NUFC before he signed at LFC with an injury.

Carroll does work hard and those that call him lazy are not watching the full 90mins. the stat from the everton game shows just how much effective suarez is when he makes his runs. almost everytime he makes runs he finds space or he is pulling defenders out of position. carroll reminds me alot like heskey in that his runs help out his team by creating space but it doesnt help him because they drag him out to the wings or back to the half way line. carroll works as hard as any player including suarez but suarez is alot more efficient when he makes his runs.

GMN

Carrol came back to defend corners which contributes alot.

How do all you EDS know each other ? {Ed001's Note - from our wild orgy nights at the local swinger clubs....}

Seriously ed, how do you lads know each other? {Ed002's Note - Lads?}

Surely the less liverpool players in the England and internationals squad the better. Keep them fit and ready for them lot at salford.

Glad Gerrard isnt in there. Club before country anyday.

Mighty reds

Tbh, I wouldn't have minded Gerrard getting at least 45 minutes with England, as surely more match fitness would help us against the Mancs, barring injury of course!

Keith

I'm pleased with the win, if not totally convinced by the performance. I still don't think Adam and Lucas works in the middle. We look too slow and a bit exposed. Keep Lucas in there but I think Adam needs to be part of a 5 in midfield; especially away from home.
Things might be different when Stevie's fully back (he'll give more cover) but then I can't see Carroll starting. Unless, Adam drops out, of course.

02 Oct 2011 21:36:33
United defence was terrible yesterday. Norwich could have scored a hatful. Suarez will have a field day if they play like that in a fortnight. Let's hope so .

02 Oct 2011 21:00:54
A cheeky bid for Junior Hiollet would be nice in Jan...

No it won't.

What is a 'cheeky' bid? We either seriously want a player & are prepared to pay his worth or we don't.

02 Oct 2011 21:32:38
I'm sick of this. Kelly plays exceptionally well throughout the season ad he doesn't get a call up for the England team, while Walker scores a goal against Arsenal and gets into the team?!
Absolute disgrace!

Jack D.

Who cares really - I would prefer the England team to never have our players in it - leave it to the Spambags and the London clubs. Have you ever met a true Liverpool fan who says "I can't wait for saturday, England are playing".

BOILED ONIONS

Don't be disgusted Jack.
Be delighted, like me.
No Stevie or Kelly in the England squad. So no injuries abroad. That will do me fine.
The Real KB

And with Kelly's dodgy hamstring, I rather he sits out the qualifiers. But he was never in the picture anyway, right?

SingRed

That's my point.

Jack D.

More worried about our other international players. No disrespect to SG but we've survived without him (just) but as it stands if Suarez, Lucas, Enrique or Kuyt got a knock we'd struggle.,

I am happy that we have no players in the England squad. Have you forgotten how many players they have sent back to us injured. Jamie Redknapp always came back with a sicknote.

Ed how come my post was up then got deleted? I know the subject matter Is controversial but it wasn't rumour or banter but truth. {Ed002's Note - It should never have been posted originally.}

02 Oct 2011 20:06:46
I think we should be a good neighbour & build a new stadium for our blue cousins to help build up that dreadfull little club & make them a power once again - in the same way you could see Coco Cola building a new factory for Pepsi. That's definately what we sould do to help them out
joek

You owe me 26 seconds your post stole from my life.

MIKEY

Since when does David Moyes post on here {Ed001's Note - I am sure the poster was being sarcastic.}

Hi eds when are the uruguay games being played?

Mighty reds {Ed009's Note - Friday and then Tuesday week.}

02 Oct 2011 19:09:20
hi eds and fans,I have two questions first is on tele hoddle said he expects spurs to end up in fourth because they have a better squad than us, if they do explain please. Second when meireles left us I know he left because he was promised money he did not get , is this true can you explain, because if kk did no promises to him so where is the problem? thanks hibsylfc

Fact is not wanted by lfc i liked the guy but have faith in kenny

02 Oct 2011 19:03:11
Hi eds great site thanks for the hard work.

Just wandering eds who are Uruguay playing in the next week or so? And is Jose Enrique in the Spain squad?

Mighty reds {Ed009's Note - Uruguay have Bolivia and Paraguay. As for Enrique; I don't believe so.}

Don't think Everton will be releasing a DVD on yesterdays game.

Spriggo

Couldn't believe the hatrid in those youngsters eyes! Was really shameful their behaviour!

The behaviour of the Everton fans was a disgrace. All the stuff they were thrwoing at our lads taking corners.........soemthing should be done about it! I suggest fining the club and banning fans from the corners of Woodison for several games! Made me ashamed to be scouse.

Ball boys. Why do we not use them at anfield?
Surely a Well trained ball boy can be advantageous.
Either inngetting the ball to our playersvquickly ovslowly depending on the state of the game and also giving the ball back slowly or ineptly to opposing teams chasing a result.

So you think we should start cheating .... we are better than that

And bringin on subs in added time, i suppose is cheating too?...tactics more like. {Ed002's Note - What was being suggested is external interference - and I agree with the comment that Liverpool should be above that.}

If we are chasing a game it does frustrate m to see reina running 40 yards to retrieve the ball when a ball bo r girl could pass him the ball within a second or two and we keep up the pressure. I don't believe it cheating just sensible really. Going back to the reina issue he could on a rainy night slip and injure himself whilst rushing to retrieve the ball

Also he could put his back out picking the ball up several times after goals, what you going to do then?

Ball persons.
Ball boys is so 20th century. Lol.
The Real KB

Maybe it is a safety thing? The ground is quite tight with not much space between pitch and fans. Little ball persons could get one hell of a clattering from the players?

All things aside - what's going on with our penalty takers? 2 penalties awarded, both scoffed! Very worrying - penalties for us are already hard to come by. Kenny & Steve better sort it quickly!

SingRed

To be fair to Kuyt, I don't remember him missing a pen before. It's not like it was a disaster like Suarez's either. Just a good save really
AD

I think thats the frist kuyt missed for liverpool i could be wrong.

Have you actually seen how many Penalties have been missed altogether this season...

Sooty

Pity Charlie didn't take it....it is what he is good at..

What has those misses got to do with us? Suarez's miss cost us 2 points, and had Kuyt converted, we would be in a more comfortable position. Stoke only had 1 penalty and converted to take away all 3 points, regardless of how well we played

My point is: when we have an advantage we have to make full use of it. We should not be left to rue the number of points dropped through missed penalties, or numerical superiority or when ref decisions work for us

SingRed

Really 'worrying'?, jesus man, chill out.

I would feel better Adam blasting them in with his sweet left foot. Kuyt always places bottom corner, suprised he hasn't missed before if true.

I like Kuyt as much as anyone, but I can strike a ball harder than he can... Adam should have taken it in my opinion..

Myk

He did not miss, it was going in and Howard pulled of a brilliant save.
It really annoys me when credit is due but never given, even if it is the blue half.

who else agrees that ray wilkins and ratboy are the 2 worst commentators in the history of football

The pair commentating on the North London derby (one of whom is a Manc with dodgy facial hair) have just been discussing English right-backs and how England is very well-off for them. They mentioned Johnson being injured then Smalling, Jones, Richards, Kyle Walker, Carl Jenkinson (who can still play for England). Not a word about Martin Kelly. Typical.

Mr Benn

Just after I sent my last post, Neville was heard to remark, 'When Bale opens his legs it's a marvellous sight.'

We've always known what you're really like, Gary, we've always known.

Mr Benn

Er No. That would be Andy Gray.

Martin Kelly......LoL!!

Kyle Walker is current best english RB. And I'm not a spud fan. {Ed009's Note - despite his clear lack of positional ability? He has potential but is questionable when defending.}

So does Kelly ed, he is still learning too but Walker is amazing upo and down the touchline. Johnson still knows nothing about positioning... lol
Currently though there are not a lot of genuine options for England, I think Walker will be a top player.

earlier fans were talking about rafa as manager just hang on, by january we all might be signing a petition to the pope for k/k to be anointed as a saint,lets shelve that topic at least till jan 1st,glad to see kuyt replace henderson ,make much more sence to introduce he slowly and in the position he prefers.silent majority

02 Oct 2011 15:59:14
Anyone else think Hendo looks better in CM instead of on the wing?

SingRed

He has a great engine, Very good touch,Great passing range and a good shot.He can't tackle to save his life though,But in this day and age, that's probably a good thing,soon any tackle will get a yellow card.I would like to see him play in the centre of Midfield as well.He can break into attack much better than Lucas and Adam.I am sure Kenny will eventually get the best out of him

You can see in the last 8 minutes that he played against Everton he played much better in the central area than on the right.

RenegadeRed

Henderson will grow into the role. He just seems a bit nervous and doesn't want to try something and it fails. He has pace and a great cross, those two alone make him a better RM option than Kuyt. He just needs time and confidence.

02 Oct 2011 15:45:12
Watching match of the day and someone made the point that "Carroll and suarez haven't gelled" but then I thought one has a basic grip of english and the other has only been in the country for half a year. Geodie and Uraguayan are as differant as you get and I feel they will get better when thay can communicate -McMenemy

02 Oct 2011 15:41:13
Would you take Rafa back. Not now of course but when Kenny decides to finish..

Corkpoolred

Yes definitely, Liverpool is is heart.

I'd rather have Carragher! After Kenny finishes Carra will probably have retired, would love him to be the manager.

RenegadeRed

Carragher?? are you having a laugh? maybe a coach one day when hes ready but manager i dont think so. RedTurk

No, I was never a Rafa fan. I know he loved the club but he is too stubborn and football is drab and defensive.

Fensh

A divided club & divided fanbase, that's Benitez's legacy to us. Hope he just feck's off back to Spain & doesn't destroy whatever bit of good will he has left.

Benitez was a good manager. Take a look at Arsenal now, so many parallels with what happened to Liverpool two seasons ago.

Rafa tried to sign Aguero, David Silva, David Villa, Dani Alves (could be more but the he wasn't backed by the board) most signings Rafa made were 2nd, 3rd or even 4th choice! I know he is stubborn and sometimes his tactics were poor BUT think of the team we would have if NESV were in charge then and backed Rafa..

Corkpoolred

The season we finished second was as good as it has got in the last 15-20 years.

having read 2-3 different books on what went on during the H&G era, i have even more respect for rafa. the amount of cr*p he had to put up with was unbelievable. this is not my opinion, just what others have stated as facts in these books.

the team he'd assembled that season was pretty good and some of the the football was out of this world (manu 4-1, Rm 4-0). but the problem was we had a good 1st team, not a good squad so after the 1st eleven he didn't have the back-up players (as KK has now) which would have pushed us on. that's why in one-off games with our best team we could beat anyone.
yes in other games he was very what some would say defensive, but i'd call it solid shape to keep it tight. we'd never get neaten like we did at spuds.

in a one-off game he was tactically one of the best managers out there. take the games at the nou camp or bernabeu, not even ol red nose has even been able to go there and do that. thats how good he could be.

it was a shame he went/had to go, which again was more down to politics (H&G,purslow) rather than a footy thing. yes we were disappointed but they wanted him out. we finished 7th & they had their excuse as 4th was the minimum requirements to keep everything going. plus he annoyed the hell out of them whereas uncle roy being a more seasoned political veteran would not rock the boat. many decisions are made not on ability but having 'yes' men in place. rafa was not one of those, as proven at Inter where again he was promised this,that and the other but didn't get anything (must've been deja-vu for the ol fella!). as soon as leonardo was put incharge he could buy who he wanted.

to coin a Dr Who phrase, in another timeline, if rafa was in charge now and had been given the green light (like KK has) on the guys he wanted, we would have had the likes silva, aguero etc. plus torres would not have left, alonso left primarily due to financial reasons as well as a ding-dong with benitez although this may not have happened if the money problems had not reared their ugly head (£30m received £5m down payment on Aquilani, bal of £25m into interest paying account) and mascherano would not have left either.

would i have him back? in a heart beat, after KK.
he united the fans and made us believe again. i wish rafa and his family nothing but best as that is all he ever wanted for us.

as it is i'm generally happy with what KK is doing (he makes errors too - spurs game) and i was really pleased when he was appointed as he is one of only 3 managers (along with rafa and mourinho) who can get under fergies skin!

i wish him and the lads all the best.

was at the game yesterday sat in the gladys end with the me mate and his dad.(bluenoses).was my first ever game watching lfc live and the amount of crap coming from the fans was awful.DORSET RED

Did you by any chance get your head patted when Kuyt missed the penalty. I saw someone that did when Kuyt missed the penalty?

Hi hope you enjoyed the game hugh one for seeing the reds for the first time.hope next time is at anfield amongst the classy folks enjoy.(godin)

02 Oct 2011 15:39:09
can everybody on this site have some respect for carra he's still a very good defender,hes much better than skrtel

He has been exposed many times this season,and he makes the team play too deep.I think fans respect him,but the time as come to start edging him out and not playing him on his past.fans saying he was fantastic forget to mention that before the sending off Cahill twice out jumped him, and Everton with ten men at times pressed us back only because of Carra playing his second goalie role he as adopted of late.

No point fighting it. Kenny will play him all season if he is fit and he will retire at the end of the season I think. I am not in agreement but I am not the manager.

I really think Skrtel is not as bad as you lot make out actually.

02 Oct 2011 15:34:15
Eds do you think we actually win a trophy like the carling cup or fa cup {Ed002's Note - There is no reason why not, but I have no idea whether the club will or not.}

02 Oct 2011 15:31:24
hearing rumours that the Liverpool stadium issue is about to come out again in the press and a decision is expected from the club city council in the next month

building work on anfield or the new stadium is going to start at the end of this season. {Ed002's Note - If it is a new stadium to a new design I suspect there will be no work on it until perhaps the end of next season due to the time the planning application will take.}

Go on Bolton get the 3 points fr....... Go on Bolton get back in th........ Nevermind..... -McMenemy

Bolton for relegation in this form. Not sure what has changed, seems Coyle has lost the plot. And I liked him as he got them playing good football last season and at Burnley.

It certainly is more of a cup final for the mancs as are in and always will be in our shadow.

Lets jus call the clown sir alex as 'fergie' as king kenny refers to. Always below king kenny in life and class.

Its good that the mancs ticket allocation as been cut as merseyside always runs out of toilet roll when we normally get our usual 3 points at anfield so a thousand less of the prawn sandwich brigade can be catered for.

Mighty reds

No mate, our rivals are city and Chelsea, so Liverpool don't even come into it. Your rivals are Arsenal, Spurs, Villa and Everton.

21 years and counting

great win for the red men and as i said weeks ago an got absoloutley slated for it.... drop henderson an play dirk because this is our strongest side an jordan is one for the future! that was our strongest side apart from gerrard not being on.... as i said weeks ago! kk has come to his senses and realised henderson aint good enough yet an played the tried an tested dirk the main man diggler!

thankyou and goodnight

Who would look forward to losing....again.

02 Oct 2011 14:06:43
i was shocked at the amount of coins thrown at our players in yesterdays merseyside derby, you would think the everton fans would throw the money at kenwright as he is the one who needs it the most

Andy Carroll, what an asset to have in a team.

Bellamys moreve an asset

No Carroll is more. Future of our club, Bellamy near retirement. Think about it.

after the game when luis was interviewed i was quite suprised how good his english was its at least showing he,s wanting to stay and learn i mean tevez has been in england 5 years and he still hasn,t learnt the language he spoke english better than fabio and luis has only been here 9 month nice to see
giblet

Same goes for KK in the interview I saw !!!
(just kidding Kenny !)

Unlike torres who apparently spoke english very well but would not attend post match interviews using his lack of knowledge as an excuse, until someone found that he speaks english very well it was just he did not have the respect to come out and do them interviews instead sending someone els for him. It was always about him and no one else good riddance.hibsylfc

That's because he lived in Amsterdam. The Dutch speak better English albeit they shound a bit like Shteve McLaren, shmoke and a pancake anyone?

02 Oct 2011 13:28:00
the time has come for everton to ban the idiots and young boys near the corner flags that shout foul abuse and throw missiles at players taking corners, everton must put thick perspex screens up or netting like in italy, the hatred in there fans faces is like when we go to rome there really is a problem with the peoples clubs fans they cant fill there stadium and the ones that turn up are bitter twisted interbred illiterate mongs, bob paisleys skids

Saw an Everton mug being sold for the little clubs fans which had on it ,"Bitter, twisted and proud" . This is presumably the image they wish to portray to the world. It just says it all !!!!!!!!

Could not agree more my friend...Great Post

I buy Liverpool products also.
Especially their crested toilet rolls

Typical-idiot

02 Oct 2011 13:09:31
The only thing that Rodwells sending off did, was to allow Fellaini, Cahill Hibbert etc licence to continue with similar tactics as they then knew that Atkinson wouldn't be able to send anyone else off for the same reasons.
Have to say that Evertons game plan was very spurious and frankly it let the Club down by it's total lack of 'science' .Moyes you are a stupid old goat if you think everyone else was fooled by the tactics chosen by the little club. Everton's fans will no doubt continue to believe the 'party line' until the Championship is a reality.

02 Oct 2011 12:16:52
Hi guys....was just wondering, am i the only person who rates Kelly higher then Johnson?

I still rate a fully fit Johnson more. Kelly is still learning.

No, you're not alone. Kelly is a far superior defender. However, I would have them both in the team when fit, Johnson playing right wing. Unless of course we buy a new right winger. All that money spent and we still don't have ONE natural right winger in the first team squad.

Jimbo

If it were up to me and both of them were at the top of their game, I'd still choose Kelly. But I'd play Glen on the right wing rather than right back.

Kelly may have better defending abilities, but Johnson has better attacking instincts.

RenegadeRed

Kelly is a better defender. Johnson is too attack minded. I do agree with Jimbo that Johnson should be used as a right winger though.

Keith YNWA

I rate both of them its a nice problem to have but i would certainly try johnson at right wing i think he could be awesome there for us he has pace and a good cross but he,s not as poor as people say at defending he,s certainly a better right back than smalling who played 2 games for england there
giblet

If he is fit, Johnson and Kuyt should start. We should exploit Evra on their left; Johnson is more attack-minded and cross the ball better than Kelly.

SingRed

And! bellamy.his pace with suarez would turn and destroy manc defence

Over the last number of months I have been angered to read the number of posts slagging off Jamie Carragher. Everybody is entitled to their opinions, but it is the manner of these posts that are really a cause of concern.
I agree Carra's performances, this season in particular, are way below what we have come to expect from him, and in my personal opinion, he is nearing the end of his career with LFC.
But the thing that is bugging me is, how much he is slated by some posters on this site. He has been a tremendous servant of the club. Loyal, dedicated and extremely hardworking. Compare this to the antics of some other ''High-Profile'' signings at LFC, over those years. So perhaps instead of slating him at every turn, recognise that he is past his best and hope the management of the club rectify the problem. Do it the Liverpool way.

Carra was MOTM for me. KK would not play him if he thought he was not good enough. Watch Carra closely, see how he organises the defence, esp Skrtel. See how he makes no nonsense clearances when needed, he will never change his style of play, but what he does is give confidence to other, younger defenders.

Aww lads, anyone want a laugh today type in "Bruce Forsyth Wembley FA Cup Final 1974" to youtube.
A very sprightly Brucie (40 odd ?) comes jogging out onto the hallowed turf, wearing wine red flares and dark blue blazer ala Alan Partridge. Haha.
He then kicks a ball and hares after it, flares flying, down the pitch towards the Liverpool end.
His running style is errr dodgy to say the least.
But he nestles the ball right in the corner of the goal to huge cheers from the Liverpool fans, who roar "Nice one Brucie, nice one son...".
Lol. It's a classic I'm telling you. Worth a look.
There's more too, but have a decko.

As long as King Kenny still thinks Carra is still a first team starter then thats fine by me. And we should all support it.

Mighty reds

Carra must always be a first teamer. While he can get away with horrendous over the top challenges like last year on Nani, Liverpool would be daft to drop him!

Although, lets be honest, it really doesn't matter who you play, you could bring back Ron Yeats if you wanted!

As long as you have players who get away with bad tackles, role around in "agony" then make a miracle recovery 2 minutes later, have the opposition sent off for making a fair tackle, and you have referees rightly being able to claim they are your man of the match, you can play pretty much anyone!

And then, when your team is treated equally with others, your manager demands a meeting with the referees, to have this ridiculous unbiased situation stopped immediately!

Normal service was resumed yesterday.

We all know the rules.

Sir Alex x

Hey it's Sir Alex, the delusional split-personality poster.
How is it in your world today mate - are you Jesus today or just still plain "Sir" ?
And what posters you got up on your bedroom wall - the Everton ones or the Manco ones ?
Take care mate.
The Real KB

A reply would be to dignify this clown, so 'No comment'

Yes you are right Alex, players should be banned for over-the-top tackles and feigning injury or diving and I'm sure there is no place for these types of players at Man U.
On a different not how is Roy Keane doing these days? Or Mr Ronaldo or Mr Nistelrooy?

JRG

He's a bitter . K96 .

Didnt rooney get away with elbowing james mccarty in the face the week before carras tackle on crybaby nani

Sir alex, i dont ever recall you being so mouthy last season, but now youve got no19 its a whole different ball game, you must feel so superior, anyway lets see how long your gobbing for in a fortnight when you get battered at Anfield, ps i hope your lot get to another euro final so i can watch the scum get another good hiding and get shown how to actually win a euro cup final.

So sorry that my team beat your team. Here - have a toffee

Sir alex,

Sir Alex,

I think when u watch Nani play, u must think that u r watching a Hollywood film coz with his playacting, if Spielberg or Cameron followed football, he would have been the lead in AVATAR etc. Man Utd players dive most and get away with bad tackles by surrounding the referee or having Howard Webb as there. For the first time in my 13 years of watching football LFC got something that helped us win. I may not be proud of the RED card but am proud for the professionalism of the team and happy for the win.

Mmm Rafael on Lucas? Nani crying and making a miracle recovery two minutes later? Look back at 6 March 2011. What happened that day? Oh Liverpool 3 Man U 1

Liverpool starlet Adam Morgan added to his growing reputation with a double in the 3-0 win over Molde for the club's Under 19s.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli were both in the stands to take in the performance, and are likely to have been impressed with the performance of a player dubbed 'the next Robbie Fowler'.

About time we got a bit of luck this season of a referee, especially in such a partisan stadium.

Thought Lucas & Suarez were immense. So pleased for carroll9 great Finnish.

Astounding negative comments on here yesterday about Carroll & team before n after the goals. Great result & they ALWAYS need our support.

"we will win, Carroll will score and you will love it".

Did anyone see the kings after match talk to sky? Absolutly brilliant.

Ed001 you said Torres sulked after pool not dealing with his injury the way he wanted could you please elaborate, were we complacent in his treatment because I thought pool went to all lengths to solve his constant hamstring injury back then? Hibsylfc thanks {Ed001's Note - he believes he was lied to by the medical staff, as did Rafa, hence the complete change in medical staff.}

Interesting stat in the paper today - Andy Carroll ran 6.77-miles in yesterday's compared Suarez's 6.61-miles. I guess that puts to bed the theory that Carroll is lazy and doesn't run enough.

JRG

Big AC is definitely putting the work in. It'll come good for the guy, I'm convinced of that. As Shanks said - you only get out of the game, what you put in. I fancy AC to net against the mancs as well.

Jonjo have a fantastic 1st match. KD bought him in Liverpool Hope KD take him back in january.

Jonjo is gerrards natural replacement, the boy is absolute class and a much better player than gerrard was at 19, the reason hes gone out on loan is because KD wants to give spearing one more chance as back up to see if he can cut the mustard.

Reds / Eds
Right then. Consider that we've got 12 x really tough games per season (Man Utd, Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton as it's the derby).
Of these, 6 x are away from home and we've now played 3 x of them.
If we'd played well and got draws in the 3 x away games to date, everyone would have said yeh, solid, we're looking OK. But we'd have still only got 3 x points.
However, we're now 6 x points out of 9 for the 3 x away games. That is very decent going.
Mind you, red cards in two of those games make match analysis a lottery. But old KB's a happy man this morning. Lol.

I've never beleived that this is where we lose the league. Although the match against Spurs was our worst for a long time, it's the points dropped at home to Sunderland & not maybe getting the point against Stoke. That really gets my goat. For years we've never been able to deal with these teams as we should. Never had the know how of getting a good result even when playing badly. Winning ugly if you like. Liverpool will always up there game against Utd, Citeh,The Gunners etc! I think that the likes of Downing & Carroll will give us different ideas against the Wigans, Wolves etc of our league. Get this right & we will be in a much improved position.

The Irish Rover

Irish Rover
Yeh you're right mate. Given that we've virtually got a new team though I thought it was worth noting that we're rolling along OK at the minute. I still have concerns about the speed of our CM and CD. But by the time of the manc match, we should hopefully have a full squad back. Stevie, Glen J, Agger should all be about ready. Looking forward to that mate.

Totally agree. manu next, can win this game no doubt. its the next three norwich home west brom away and swansea home. 9 mpts would send a message out, dropping pts in these fixtures deflates everyone.

"I was really proud to be the Liverpool football club manager, so I would like that in the future,"
"But Kenny is doing a good job and I have no rush (for that) now. Maybe I would have to wait - five years, three years, 20 years - I don't know!

"But I'm still young, so I have time and I will keep moving forward.

Rafa to give me football. You may like him or not But he Love Liverpool club.

I love Rafa to bits. I love his passion for the game. He truely dos live & breath footie. Yet, if he is to be thought of again as a future Liverpool manager again, then he would need to get a job & improve his standing. It's taken a bit of a battering over his last 2 years with us & at Inter. Maybe it's best not to happen, but he can stay in the Liverpool area, manage another team ( but not too well) & tell anyone who will listen how Fergie gets special treatment. I think Fergie would like that!

The Irish Rover

With the backing of john henry rafa would be immense at liverpool again just like when we came second, one more season of decent backing and i have no doubt we would of been dominating both league and Europe, if we hadnt been forced to allow the like of, macherano, alonso, arbeloa, i would welcome rafa back in a heartbeat he was a great manager
Jaydee

We may of had Silva, Villa and Dani Alves under Rafa if we had the money!

CrAzYrEd

Yes your so right, I can just see Benitez working really well with Damien Camolli. I think the Benitez brigade are at it again. It would'nt matter how much money he had or who he was allowed to sign, it was his personality that was the ultimate problem, his lust for absolute power, his need to humiliate players, & his absolute stubbornness. The Rafa brigade should be calling for the return of Paco his assistant, because he was the real genious, when he was p'd on by the great Rafa then that was the end of the success. Just be greatful for what you've now got & hang your heads in shame come next May when we are in 2nd or 3rd place in the league.
Josek

Hey ed do u agree with me that rafa shud be appointed our next manager once kk's contract is up? With some financial support he cud work wonders with us.

If we had signed a 25 year old midfielder with an exotic name from the continent for 7 million who performed the way Charlie Adam has, i bet he'd be lauded as a bargain and would have recieved a hell of a lot more recognition for his abilities. Ok he hasnt been consistently great , but he has never hidden in a game and at times his passing has been great and i think he's been taken for granted a bit.

If rodwell wouldnt of got sent off then another bluenose would of they were sent out to kick us and get away with as much as they can, which you cant do in todays football. We were the only team trying to play yesterday. Hibbert and Fellaini were lucky to stay on the park. Rodwells tackle was dangerous and gave the ref a decision to make.

It was a very well controlled and patient performance by us. The whole team and subs played well. KK is just starting to get the best out of Carroll. Carra still one of Englands best performers and was a rock. I thought Lucas was brilliant.

Lets hope our players come back ok from the internationals. Then we cant beat the mancs as they are poor at the back and midfield.

Mighty reds

Carra still one of Englands best performers..?? You just been watching the one match then this season...come on lad,get a grip.......

Great win for the lads today, games ultimately have "to be won" regardless of the numbers on the field. The missiles thrown onto the pitch and at LFC players, was disturbing!.
Eds, what is the current Uefa and FA ruling on this, many thanks. {Ed002's Note - The FA are awaiting the referee's report and will not doubt investigate. The club could be fined. In the interim the club and police will co-operate to identify and ban any parties throwing items on to the pitch.}

Just been watching match of the day - must say that Man Utd looked really good should have scored 3 or 4 goals really although a lot of the chances seemed to come from the other teams poor defending and bad play. Was also nice to see them playing in their traditional yellow and green strip ; )

Hi Eds guys/gals what positions do you think we need to fill if any,and what players come january would best fill those positions,please reply and be realistic in your answeres.(godin) {Ed001's Note - I would still like us to sign Musacchio to add pace at centre back and a right winger, though maybe we could go with either Bellamy or Johnson there?}

I'd ideally like a cb, and a winger for next season. I guess realistically I'd like Cahill and Hazard (this is realistic to me; Lille are way down in Ligue 1 and there's not many big clubs in for wingers, and they'll like us as Cole's doing well). I'd be delighted to see us sign a foreign cm as well, someone who's technically good in close quarters, but I don't see us spending big money on this. I'd personally have a look at Barcelona's young cms - they have an embarrassment of riches in that position with Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas and Thiago and younger ones may be tempted to leave

Red Ollie

Id like Cahill, Johnson, James Mcarthy which are reasonably realistic and Hazard if possible. That would make us contenders next season no doubt

Waldar

And another out and out striker

Wasn't it bloody brilliant 2 bring on arguably the best mid in the prem over the last 10 years, Wales capt & a future england midfielder to try & change the game rather than ngog, poulson & maxi( no disrespect to the latter) if that doesn't tell u how much we've progressed then nothing will.

thrilled with the result today, cant be happier than a win in a derby. GREAT to see big andy score and suarez doing what he is best at once again. with gerrard back at full fitness, i think we will give united a good run for their money!

quick question for eds or other fans, how long approx would it take to download fifa 12 on iphone 4 (brought the xbox version but the xbox is playing up) Thanks

LFC 2929 {Ed001's Note - I have no idea mate sorry, I have never, nor would I ever, have an iPhone of any kind.}

Blackberry all the way for me ed , its a big boys phone leave the i phone for the kiddies, on a more serious note im happy the way we broke down everton today , 12 months ago and that would have been nil nil so it shows that maybe we do have that little bit of creativity to unlock stubborn defences, more importantly if we have serious aspirations about europe then these are the games we need to win.
YNWA TOMMY C {Ed001's Note - I prefer Androids myself, I like the open source nature as my mate does me custom firmware for my phone. Just waiting for my new phone to be released next week, had to get that HTC Sensation XE for the Beats by Dre, if it is anything like my headphones or the sounds from my lappy with it on, it will be incredible. Exactly mate, last season we would have been held to a draw or seen them snatch victory. This season we are so much stronger.}

I have to say ed I am a bit surprised that ur an android man. I buy and sell phones very often so I have used most the major brands, and a jailbroken iPhone is the best that I have come across. What particular features on the android do you really like.

LFC 2929 {Ed001's Note - the fact that the iPhone is overpriced, costs money to get any apps to actually do anything with and is not powerful enough nor good enough puts me off them. iPhones are the epitome of style over substance, just like every Apple product. I prefer Android because you can get a much more powerful and capable phone that doesn't cost fortunes to get an app to do anything that you actually want to use.}

You're getting the wrong phone Ed mate. I'm picking up a Samsung Galaxy S2 on Monday mate, cancel your order before it's too late.

Blair Mayne YNWA {Ed001's Note - not at all, S2 is less powerful than the Sensation XE and it doesn't have Beats by Dre sound, which is important to an audiophile like me. It is only to fill in until the Galaxy Note is released anyway.}

You guys r in2 your phones a bit much perhaps chaps?
