Anyone else buzzing for the game Tommorow!? And the next week of games!

All fingers and toes crossed that we can get a good result or two or three.

Expect Can to be left out to avoid a yellow card against Newcastle which would mean he misses the United game. Also hope we rest a couple in one of the next games if possible, probably best for the Porto game. People will say its a risk resting against Porto but I'm sure we won't lose by 6 goals!

Good time to be a Liverpool fan.

I’m not George, had to sell my ticket for tomorrow night! Have to go to a gin and prosseco night at Chester racecourse 😩

Agree mate, good time to be a red 👍.

02 Mar 2018 21:16:48
I'm sorry for your loss Drogie.

03 Mar 2018 01:40:47
I'm worried about the next two Premier league games. I could see rafa keeping us out and I can see utd scraping a win in Manchester. I think these two games could define our season. If we fail to win either of them, we could slip out of the top four and with spurs and Chelsea both playing well it could be hard to get back in. I can also see us thrashing Newcastle and getting a win at utd though. Edgy time to be a red. Not worried about porto, if we drop a 5 goal lead we don't deserve to be in the ucl! If we win tomorrow then at least it hives us a bit of space in case we draw at utd.

03 Mar 2018 08:07:29
Super - what is wrong with you?

It is all going well at the moment, we are on an upward curve. We had 10 days off and then a really good run of fixtures. We have nearly a fully fit squad and some players in top form. This is not the time of the season to be worried. Newcastle have a championship team and we will over run Man Utd.

Come on you Mighty Reds.

03 Mar 2018 08:24:48
Exactly Mark, that's the attitude to have.

03 Mar 2018 15:39:51
I love your optimism salah and Mark. I hope to God you're right. Sorry to sound pessimistic.

02 Mar 2018 14:28:38
Ed01, read some great replies by you regarding Rednapp below and his waste of talent.
With that in mind who, in your opinion, where the greatest wastes of talent for Liverpool during the Premier League years and secondly in all PL teams during the Premier League time frame.
Also love other fans opinions,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - christ that is a lot of players I could list, if I had the time. This is why I am going to stop doing match previews after this season, they take up so much time I don't really have any time to answer these kind of things. I will, if you don't mind, save it to do an article on later.}

02 Mar 2018 14:46:40
Stan Collymore for me, played only 250 league games across his entire career, three caps for England, obnoxious person and incredible waste of talent.

02 Mar 2018 15:00:00
Worst for me, and through no fault of his own, was Fabio Aurelio. I think he could've been world class if he could've stayed fit for longer than 45 minutes. Such a waste.

02 Mar 2018 15:00:36
And he’s a right prick who takes every opportunity to slag us off. 🤣.

02 Mar 2018 15:02:04
I completely understand Ed it's just such a fascinating topic when you think of players who had the world at their feet but couldn't be bothered to strive for greatness. As kids we all dreamed of those opportunities so it's mind boggling so many never tried when given the chance. A future article would be great.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate I will try and get round to it as quickly as possible. It is a very good topic mate.}

02 Mar 2018 15:05:09
That'd be a great article Ed1, when you get time of course.

{Ed001's Note - hopefully sooner than normal.}

02 Mar 2018 15:16:20
a vile excuse of a human being who should not have a platform to slag anyone off.

02 Mar 2018 15:22:36
Obviously not poor Fabio😉.

02 Mar 2018 15:46:55
Liverpool I always expected more from Harry Kewell, M Owen obviously aswell.

But many a player has failed himself over the years,

Freddy Adu
Adriano
Ronaldihno
Quaresma
Peter Knowles
Gigi Meroni

Many many more.

02 Mar 2018 15:57:46
Ronaldihno could've been so much more JC23 but he was still fantastic, shame his head wasn't in it.

02 Mar 2018 16:00:24
I’m sorry JC but how is Ronaldinho in your list.

02 Mar 2018 16:09:36
Because Ronaldinho could have achieved so much more than he did.

02 Mar 2018 16:20:39
Aqualani. Top of the turd pile with Stan.

02 Mar 2018 16:24:19
Fabio didn’t waste his talent, his body failed him.

02 Mar 2018 16:36:26
Harry Kewell.

02 Mar 2018 17:40:52
Harry Kewell is a good shout. Micheal Owen is much hated here I know but if he had been looked after the way players are today I think he would be ahead of Rooney as top England goal scorer.

Robbie Fowler of course, could have been the countries greatest.

And we have all seen touches of Danny sturridges class, Imagine how good he could have become.

02 Mar 2018 17:48:59
Didn't Adriano battle with depression?

02 Mar 2018 17:53:28
From players that i have seen and can judge, as with fowler and owen i was far too young to judge them properly; it has to be sturridge.

I don't think people actually credit sturridge enough for the ability he showed before his legs went. He was world class for his first 18 months with us, not long enough to be remembered that fondly by the rest of the world, but to us he was incredible for that short period of time.

Dribbling, pace, touch, his wand of a left foot. Had a great ability to get on the end of things back then as well. He could drop wide or a bit deeper and be very competent with the ball in these areas. He was so much more than the pace merchant some people make him out to be. For those 18 months he was playing better than most centre forwards in the world, certainly had more to him than players like higuain, cavani or benzema. What happened to him was tragic.

02 Mar 2018 17:55:01
Aurelio because he just wasnt fit for long enough.

Aqualani because he cost so much money back then.

02 Mar 2018 18:50:01
I could potentially be happy to take over preview articles from next season for you Ed001.

I work for Opta (I know you hate stats, don’t worry I won’t go overboard on them - and I definitely won’t use any meaningless ones) and as part of that I write previews for matches anyway so I could do it for this site!

I’d love to contribute in some way if it takes some pressure off you (and if you and others would be ok with it) then I’d be honoured to help out! You and the other Ed’s do amazing work on here so it’d be nice to help a little.

Let me know what you think mate!

{Ed001's Note - that would be fantastic mate, please do. They take up the whole of my Friday otherwise and it is when all my friends are off here, so I never get to spend any quality time with them. Losing my best mate recently has made me rethink my priorities in life!}

02 Mar 2018 19:21:21
Talking about injuries and having a short career what are people's opinions on Jim beglin? I remember watching sportsnight (showing my age! ) when I seen him getting injured. Think it was a Derby. From what I remember he looked good.

02 Mar 2018 19:29:35
Fernando Morientes sticks out for me, I remember being a kid and being so excited when he signed.
Andy Carrol could be so much more as well. He’s got all the attributes to be a 20 goal a season striker in the right system but for his attitude and lack of effort and subsequently his injury problems.
Dani Pacheco always looked to have a bright future but I think he had attitude problems.
And surprisingly I don’t think anyone has mentioned Ballotelli.

02 Mar 2018 19:26:34
Well all the more reason for me to help out then Ed if it helps you get more time with your friends! It’s a deal, I’ll do it from next season.

If there’s anything you’d like me to include or any particular style you’d like me to write to, just let me know. I can throw in a few Opta pre-match style tidbits in their too so hopefully I can make it interesting for people on here!

I can provide my contact details if you want? I do give my email every time I make a post so Im happy to provide contact info!

{Ed001's Note - anything you want to do is fine, it is what the reader's want to read that matters, rather than what I think. If you do want to send your contact details through the contact form that would be great and make it a bit easier to discuss it.}

02 Mar 2018 19:52:59
Ronaldinho. cop on mate. he was world player of the yr twice. world cup winner. CL winner. multiple league winner. the man was a genuis and all round nice guy. he derseves to be remembered as a great and not on the same list as Freddy Adu amd Harry Kewell.

02 Mar 2018 19:55:40
Ronaldinho could've achieved more but you could hardly say he wasted his talent I mean he was the best player on the planet for a couple of years, won world cups and champions leagues - if that's wasting talent then there is no hope for any of us!

I do agree he could've been even better, and had much more longevity, if he had a more professional attitude but I think that swagger, that easy-going attitude was part of his play and, at his peak, what also made him great. Romario was similar, he hated training yet was an absolute monster - could he have achieved more? Definitely. Did he achieve a hell of a lot anyway? Absolutely.

I think Adriano is an excellent shout for biggest waste of talent though, he was a player who had literally everything to his game: strength, power, pace, skill, bullet shot, excellent finisher, truly exceptional but fell completely off the rails. It's quite a sad story really he was very close to his father and, when his father passed away, he struggled to deal with it and turned to drink which in turn lead him to become an alcoholic. I hope he has found the help he needs but, from what I gather, he's still in the midst of addiction. A great shame.

02 Mar 2018 20:41:17
Very good of you Reid the Red mate.

02 Mar 2018 21:08:22
Spot on, Seano. Ronaldinho was a football genius and the fact that he achieved SO much w/ o fully fulfilling his IMMENSE potential should tell people all they need to know about his immense talent. Messi has peaked and IMO, STILL not at Ronnie's level. Go Figure.

As for Adriano, he was a tragedy. A true beast of a player, heir apparent to the legendary CF Ronaldo (The kid had ALL the tools required to adequately replace him in the Selecao) BUT alas, his career was wasted cos he could simply NOT get over his father's death so he turned to alcohol and that was the end for him. What a pity. I pray he finds peace in his life cos the last I checked, he was hanging out w/ the gangsters in the Favelas, brandishing guns and making gang signs. Sigh!

02 Mar 2018 21:10:02
How about El Hadji Diouf? We signed him as an outstanding youngster at the World Cup but he turned out to be a pathetic little person.

02 Mar 2018 21:16:16
Really looking forward to reading your previews Reid!

02 Mar 2018 21:26:48
That sounds a top idea Reid, I look forward to reading them next season.

02 Mar 2018 21:28:17
Ryan Babel for me. I remember thinking he was going to be one of the best and he showed flashes of brilliance. I think he spends more time djing than playing football nowadays.

02 Mar 2018 23:43:39
Shame Marcus Babel's body caved in on him he had some disease that weakened him he was a brilliant right back an before us with Bayern Munich an Germany we got one good season out of him an he scored a belter against Everton at goodison park that's what I remember him by.

03 Mar 2018 00:55:12
Got to say, I've been on this site for years, but the way it's evolving is great to see, carras loan updates, reids offer of pre match analysis, MK's pod cast (baby permitting), you've got a lot to be proud of Ed's 001.

YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, it has gone so far beyond my wildest imaginings now.}

03 Mar 2018 01:44:09
And the header that eon us the euros league! Marcus babbel. Ryan babel was class too, what happened to him?

{Ed001's Note - he is in Turkey now.}

03 Mar 2018 07:29:48
Definitley agree with MK. Aurelio could have been amazing for us!

03 Mar 2018 08:34:57
alexis sanchez he signed for arsenal for the best years of his career lol.

03 Mar 2018 10:10:46
Begging had a lot of potential Roller, it was a derby match where he had a horrible leg break. I remember it quite well, a 50-50 challenge with Gary Stevens?
He was shaping up to be a decent left back, still made mistakes with positioning but he was still relatively inexperienced.

Wasted potential? Tiago Ilori 😇.

03 Mar 2018 11:16:17
Andy Carrol broke my heart. Total waste of talent, didn't he show up for training drunk?

03 Mar 2018 17:14:23
Unfortunately injuries and such are what makes players greats or not.

Ronaldo and Messi have both been blessed with incredible talent but also fabulous genetics. Imagine any of the greats getting there injury luck.

Torres for starters. Gerrard. Kewell. Aurelio. STURRIDGE.

They were all world class on there day but Gerrard got a little luckier but he lost his pace around 30 where someone like Ronaldo is still going strong. Torres was done at 27, stirring at 25.

Then there is the mental edge. Messi and Ronaldo both have the right mentality and again if other players had of say had the harry Kane mentality where would they be. Ballotelli for example. Ronaldinho.

There's so much more the skill involved in becoming a trully great. Discipline and luck are equally if not more important.

02 Mar 2018 13:58:37
If you could sign one player from each of the top 5 leagues (England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France), each of which have to be different positions, who would you sign?

Mines would be:

England - Azpilicueta

Spain - Marcelo

Germany - Vidal

Italy - Alison

France - Veratti.

Believable3 Unbelievable16

02 Mar 2018 14:30:59
To fit what Liverpool could use?

England - De Gea
Spain - Messi
Germany - Hummels
Italy - Jorginho
France - Fekir.

02 Mar 2018 14:36:08
England de bruyne, Italy Alison, France verrati, Spain varane, Germany alaba.

02 Mar 2018 14:36:49
De Gea - GK - Man United
Messi - FW - Barcelona
Kimmich - RB - Bayern
Skriniar - CB - Inter Milan
Verratti - CM - PSG.

02 Mar 2018 14:41:08
England- Kevin de Bruyne (he is a Liverpool fan by the way)
Spain- Diego Godin (One of the best CB's in the world)
Germany- Manuel Neuer (when in form is in the top 3 GK's in the world)
Italy- Alex Sandro (Probably the world's best LB when in form)
France- Kylian Mbappe (Monaco got away with cloning Thiery Henry)

02 Mar 2018 14:56:58
We could do with a top keeper, CM and maybe a CB

England - De Gea or Alderweireld
Spain - Oblak or Umtiti
Germany - Boateng or Vidal
Italy - Alisson or Sergei MS
France - not sure anyone we really deaperately need, so maybe Dani Alves for TAA to be an understudy go for a year or two! Or Veratti/ Lemar.

02 Mar 2018 15:03:49
England. De bruyne
Spain varane
Germany alaba
Italy allison
France veratti.

02 Mar 2018 15:04:09
England- Kevin de Bruyne
Spain- Marco Asensio
Germany- Niklas Süle
Italy- Alisson
France- Fekir.

02 Mar 2018 15:23:45
Marcelo absolutely no way.

02 Mar 2018 15:35:53
So many people picking Alisson over De Gea, take of the goggles here chaps De Gea is proven in the PL probably the hardest league in the world and is renowned as the best goalkeeper in the world currently. What do we actually know about Alisson? What is his pedigree to make a certain impact for LFC?

Don't get me wrong if he is an upgrade id take him but its crazy to not pick De Gea as the England choice, as good as KDB is he is not a player in his position of priority to LFC.

02 Mar 2018 15:40:36
England - De de Bruyne

Spain - Isco

Germany - Alaba

Italy Alisson

France - Verati.

02 Mar 2018 15:49:57
England - Toby Alderweireld
Germany - David Alaba
Spain - Marc Andre Ter Stegen
Italy - Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
France - Marco Verratti.

02 Mar 2018 15:50:30
England - De Gea
France - Meunier (PSG rb)
Spain - Asensio
Germany - Hummels
Italy - Jorginho.

02 Mar 2018 16:16:22
England-DDG
France-Neymar
Spain-Messi
Germany-Kimmich
Italy- Milinkovic-Savic.

02 Mar 2018 16:29:01
France - Mbappe
England - DeGea
Italy - Zielinski
Spain - Kroos
Germany - Alaba.

02 Mar 2018 16:35:27
Courtois
Serge savic
Malcolm
Vrsalko
Cb youngster from red bull.

02 Mar 2018 17:37:15
England- Toby alderweireld
Italy- Insigne
Germany- Kimmich
France- verrati
Spain- jan oblak

There was nobody in la liga worth signing that wouldn't distrupt our current crop (messi Ronaldo etc) so went for the keeper and swapped DDG for Toby!

02 Mar 2018 17:55:18
In response to JC. I think so many people are picking Alison as the pick from England is nailed on as De Bruyne for me. Along with Isco, Mbappe and Alaba would fit in our team nicely.

02 Mar 2018 18:05:01
England - De Gea
Italy - Koulibaly
Spain - Isco
Germany - Kimmich
France - Veratti

You could go for players such as Dybala, Messi etc but if i was going to be really boring and focus on what we actually need, the players i've chosen are actually the 5 types of player we should be aiming for in the summer:

Goalkeeper
Centre back capable of playing a high line
Coutinho Replacement who has intelligent midfield play but also drives forward
Right Back
Number 6.

02 Mar 2018 18:38:54
Yes Denzil but do Lpool "need" a KDB more than De Gea? I don't think so.

02 Mar 2018 18:43:30
De Gea
Savic
Alaba
Verratti
Messi.

02 Mar 2018 19:32:47
England - de Bruyne
Spain - oblak
France - mbappe
Italy - hamsik
Germany- Martinez.

02 Mar 2018 19:53:41
I totally see what you saying and agree he is the best in the world. I just think a few other keepers are not far away from DeGea but no-one is near De Bruyne and he would be brilliant in our midfield behind our lethal front 3.

02 Mar 2018 21:33:00
England - kvb
Spain - Iniesta
France - Marquinhos
Italy - mertens
Germany - Neuer.

03 Mar 2018 01:45:25
No one picked salah? Wow.

03 Mar 2018 02:14:37
England - De Gea
Spain - Asencio
Germany - Hummels
Italy - Allan
France - Verratti.

03 Mar 2018 09:18:45
supersalah, read the post it says 'If you could sign one player from each of the top 5 leagues' we already have Salah.

03 Mar 2018 13:23:42
England: Lloris
Spain: Saul
Germany: Phillip Max (LB; Augsburg)
Italy: Matuidi or Mertens
France: Rabiot/ Pastore.

02 Mar 2018 13:25:10
I've just read an interview with Andy Robertson by James Pearce. He comes across really well, grounded, hungry and determined to work hard to succeed. Hopefully this kind of attitude goes right through the squad .

Believable5 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2018 13:51:26
That's just it mate. It seems like the whole squad have that attidude and are more determined then ever to succeed, they have the confidence, they want to win and are getting the results.

02 Mar 2018 14:00:41
I'd like to say, When we signed Robbo we was all a bit sceptical about him. Underwhelming transfer, and we was looking over at Arsenal a bit jealous because that Kolasnac was looking like a great signing.
Well I watched him last night and he was getting absolutely ruined everytime City went down his side. Now Andy is running rings round the lad in terms of ability. He's a cracking signing.

02 Mar 2018 16:53:51
LFC8, I was never jealous of Kolasinac or any other German league player Klopp does not sign. Why? Very easy. Klopp is a guru in that dept. and knows these players inside out so if he does not wanna sign any of them, he knows hem enough to say they don't fit the way we play hence, won't or can't make us better. If he thinks that player can help us, he will sign him. See Karius who is now improving and Matip (tho having a splintered season) was very good last season overall. I will defer to Klopp on this topic every single time. Kolasinac is average and looks more like a body builder than a footballer.

I may not have been thrilled w/ Robbo BUT he is improving and provided he keeps his head down and continues to learn from one of the best coaches around (not just manager) in Klopp, he'll be fine.

03 Mar 2018 00:17:40
I was lucky enough to have seen the great Emlyn Hughes play for us, and he was great,
part of his his play was his fantastic drive forward, now that Robbo has settled in at left back,
he reminds me quite a lot of yozzer Hughes,
and he will only get better,
today, Klopp was saying that he could be the future captain of Scotland .

{Ed0333's Note - Susan Boyle could captain Scotland mate that’s not such a glowing endorsement of the deity that is Andrew Robertson.

02 Mar 2018 10:31:57
Spion_Klopp and NegativeRedWalter, you both got my question yesterday correct; it was Andy Cole in the first ever Premier League season!

Luis Suarez with 31 goals for Liverpool in 13/ 14, and Andy Cole with 34 goals for Newcastle in 92/ 93 are the only two players in Premier League history to score more than 30 league goals in a single season, without taking a single penalty in that season!

From what i can gather, neither player ever took a Premier League penalty, though a few other reports claim Cole took one in 2005 and scored. Aside from that, none of his other 187 premier league goals came from the penalty spot. Sniper.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

02 Mar 2018 12:25:57
Suddenly I remember Liverpool were once linked with Carlton Cole.

02 Mar 2018 13:03:52
Lol - wasn't the fee reported to be £20m as well?
Oh how we fell from grace between August 2009 and August 2010.

02 Mar 2018 13:35:13
Adam, Andy Cole took a penalty for Fulham at Birmingham City on 22 January 2005 and, as you say, he scored. It was bl**dy freezing that day too!

02 Mar 2018 14:25:28
Was a complete guess on my part I just remembered he scored a lot of goals there and then if memory is correct went to man utd.
Cheers for the answer.

02 Mar 2018 14:46:58
Sounds about right Ritters! Checked it after i posted this and although nobody else has corrected it yet, i got the year wrong for Andy Cole. It was actually 93/ 94 season where he got 34 so that would've been the second ever Premier League season.

Mad that only two players have managed it in Premier League history. I've gone through all the records though and if anyone else has done it, i can't see it!

The mighty Carlton Cole would've been a great signing! Imagine a front 3, Joe Cole on the left, Carlton Cole through the centre, and Milan Jovanovic down the right! We'd have won the league for sure 😂 Paul Konchesky and Glen Jonshon overlapping the wingers, Christian Poulsen, Raul Meireles and Jay Spearing controlling the midfield, Sotorios Kyriakgos and Martin Skrtel in front of Brad Jones.

Roy Hodgson was a football genius.

02 Mar 2018 15:21:44
Luis Suarez took a penalty for Liverpool at home to Sunderland in the 11/ 12 season, he blazed it over the bar.

02 Mar 2018 15:45:07
Something i saw today, the record of 34 in a season shared by Shearer and Cole, had 42 games. Where as now with 38 games we have suarez, shearer and ronaldo with 31! Im guessing the prem lost 2 teams? Im sure some people know this but as i was born in 92 maybe it happened that year and obviously why i was clueless about that until now.

02 Mar 2018 16:34:30
Negative is severely underrated on this page. Don’t go by his name. He is quality.

02 Mar 2018 16:56:48
MK, didn't Newcastle get promoted into the PL in the 92/ 93 season cos their first season in the PL was the 93/ 94 season?

02 Mar 2018 16:56:49
No problem Walter. Hell of a guess! I even deliberately tried to mislead people by giving you the Newcastle hint. Fully expected most people to just guess Shearer had gone one season without taking a penalty.

That's weird alistair. I'm assuming you're correct and there were 22 teams at one point!

Correct Smeg. Mignolet was in Sunderland's goal that day! Pretty sure Suarez took one in the cup that year too, but i can't remember for sure.

02 Mar 2018 20:43:44
Thanks Harry that's very kind.

02 Mar 2018 10:23:10

{Ed002's Note - Try the MU page - THIS IS THE LIVERPOOL PAGE.}

02 Mar 2018 08:29:29
I just saw a video of a game I had totally forgot about, anybody else remember in 1997 we was beating Newcastle 3-0 they came back late on in the game and scored 3 past us and then god scored the winner? what a cracking game that was! Scary as hell mind when they scored the third, I remember it like yesterday now I've been reminded of it lol where has that time gone.

Have a good day eds/ reds.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I was there mate. Dalglish was their manager and they never even got into our half until their first goal. It was an absolute hiding until Jamie 'stroller' Redknapp decided to stop doing anything and relaxed, allowing their midfield free rein in the final minutes. My aunt and her family who were giving me a lift home, left at 3-0 and had no idea what had happened when I got back to the car. They wouldn't believe me when I told them it ended 4-3, all they had heard was the crowd noise and the huge roar at the end! I only just saw our winner as I had put my head in my hands when they equalised and looked up just in time to see Fowler score.}

02 Mar 2018 08:51:29
Ed001, what was your opinion of Jamie Redknapp? As a kid he was one of my favorite players. He could make any pass he wanted but i feel he never reached his full potential or wanted to!
I know he suffered with this knees and could of been wrong to have him as one of my fav players. But I was young and really didn't look at football the way i do now.
Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - hated him as a player, plentiful talent but never put in the effort needed to make even 50% of his ability. His idiotic tendency to stand on the centre back's toes for 90 minutes held us back for years. He would allow the opposition to close down the whole team because they could cut him and the centre backs out with one player as they were all within a couple of inches. If he had just moved forward a few yards, he would have been in a much more dangerous place to play passes from and opened up the field a bit more for the team to play out from the back. Instead he constantly took the ball, literally, off the centre back's toe time after time after time. One of the most pointless players ever to wear the shirt, as he did nothing for the team. When he did bother to put in some effort and did some of the dirty work, he was exceptional, except it only happened once or twice a season. Then he would stroll around for a few weeks until injury took him out for months. What a waste of talent.}

02 Mar 2018 08:57:13
Oh wow Ed thanks for sharing mate, what a game to be at! When Barton scored I remember thinking here we go, you watch them score in the last minute! Luckily god came to the rescue!

{Ed001's Note - it was not quite at the level of the previous one like, but it was even more of a relief at the end because of that.}

02 Mar 2018 09:04:24
Thanks for the reply, I was mislead as a kid then ha ha.
From reading all the posts and opinions of players the a common factor that you hear is how many players wasted or wasting their ability. I guess far to interested in money, fame and thinking they had made it. Oh and social media :)

{Ed001's Note - he was a nice guy, so most people gave him a pass, but he didn't deserve it as it was his own fault. If he had put effort into the donkey work, as well as wanting to look good with the passes, LFC would have won more.

I can cope with a player not having the most talent, what I hate is a player with talent who pisses it away. Some do it through off field activities of various kinds, Redknapp did it through attitude. He was more interested in looking good than being good.}

02 Mar 2018 09:09:56
Lol yes another 4-3 and another blast from the past was it Collymore who scored the winner in extra time? or was it Fowler, I can't remember, I know it was great football leading upto the goal though Newcastle defenders didn't know where to look.

{Ed001's Note - it was the knob himself who scored, sadly God didn't get it. Now there is a player I could never do anything but detest in Collywobbles. Vile rat of a man on a good day.}

02 Mar 2018 09:19:23
Ah yeah that's right I was hoping Fowler would get his hat trick.

02 Mar 2018 09:35:50
I was there at both the 4-3 games. We totally out played them in both games, but the score made them some of the most exciting games I have ever been to.

With the fowler winner, I was walking out down the front so I could make a quick exist on the final whistle. I was just behind the goal and he rose like a salmon. Probably his best ever headed goal.

I used to sometimes travel to watch him play for the youth team, and I went to Forest to see him play in the world u18 final. He is the most naturally talented footballer I have seen. At 18 he was our best player in the first team.

02 Mar 2018 09:43:56
'and he rose like a salmon' ha ha I love it.

Mark I agree he's one of my all time favourites mate.

02 Mar 2018 10:07:09
Collymore is constantly sticking the boot into lfc and klopp, im starting to think he has an agenda. The worst yet was his recommendation to sign a retiring keeper (buffon) or joe hart to bring some experience and as he put it a top class keeper. Had me in stitches 😂.

02 Mar 2018 11:38:37
He is a plank and should not be on tv or radio like joey Barton both arseholes.

02 Mar 2018 15:50:31
Sign Buffon, that has made me laugh, I do love him as a player but he will retire at juve and then probably chill out for a bit. No chance he would want to spend a season at best in England where it is colder than Italy ;)

I was just looking at his playing career senior career of 23 years! actually insane! What a legend he is.

02 Mar 2018 16:59:44
If Redknapp played with as much hunger and determination in his career, as he does talking utter dross and rubbish on Sly, he may have just managed to be a better player than the useless one Ed01 is describing.

02 Mar 2018 17:01:22
Albey and Alistair, I saw Collymore's video saying that we should sign Buffon as well. As the great John W Henry once asked, "What are they smoking down there at Stan's home"

02 Mar 2018 18:08:53
Crack, probably.

02 Mar 2018 21:12:24
Oh, be nice RP BUT you make a fair point cos you really have to be stoned to come up with the tripe Ol' Colly comes up with, LOL.

02 Mar 2018 08:12:15
Good time to be a Liverpool fan right now.

If reports are true, the club is moving in the right direction financially off the field.

On field we're playing some fantastic attacking football, with the defence seeing a slight improvement.

Only two points behind man utd, win and Saturday and we climb back up to second.

2 or 3 quality additions in the summer and we'll be right in the mix.

02 Mar 2018 08:42:36
Spoil sport Ed 😜😜.

{Ed001's Note - hardly, you were being offensive. Not in the slightest funny or clever to be a dick like that.}

02 Mar 2018 08:47:00
We r in d mix.

02 Mar 2018 16:31:13
I knew some of you on here would start celebrating the profit headline, great for the owners but that's about it because those profits won't be reinvested in the team or into lowering prices for supporters, so don't get to excited. The team needs major investment, don't let our current position cloud your judgement we're a million miles away from being genuine title contenders as city are streets ahead, and this will only dissipate next season when Salah goes and a cheaper less experienced play replaces him. Sorry to piss on your bomb fire 🔥 but there the realities of life under these owners.

02 Mar 2018 17:01:52
And there he is.

02 Mar 2018 17:28:47
Waro does make a good point but needs to take into consideration that city are just richer than us. The owners have backed us plenty but in my opinion 1 have squandered plenty in their time here on transfers 2nd they just can't match the spending power other teams have. This however does not make them bad.

02 Mar 2018 17:31:08
Salah goes? No chance. Even FSG or LFC or whoever decides on players going are not close to being that business orientated or that dumb. They want success and we are slowly getting there.

02 Mar 2018 21:21:02
Well anyway, over here on Planet Reality, our boys are 3rd in the PL, FSG are expanding the stadium and Klopp is slowly putting LFC on the path towards greatness. Good luck to our boys vs Newcastle tmrw as we have to be on top of our game to beat them.

02 Mar 2018 21:50:29
A few negative clicks with the owners being ripped to shreds once again.

I've followed the reds home and away since the early 80's and seen my beloved club go through so many changes. I'm intrigued as to who the likes of Waro would like to see at the helm of our club.

If people want to give off then they should blame the likes of Rupert Murdoch and BSB, the birth of the Premier League totally ruined football, sent numerous clubs under, trying to keep up with player spending and salaries.

So, do you want to be a soulless club like Manchester United, a mere number on the stock exchange? Or a Manchester City?

Yes we've sold our best players because they've wanted to leave! Not because the owners want to line those pockets. Asking our best players is nothing new, we sold Keegan in 77, Souness in 84, Rush in 87, Mcmanaman in 99 to name a few. Yes we replaced with quality but not for the ridiculous fees today!

Money has been reinvested back into the team from player sales, unfortunately, we bought the the likes of Andy Carroll, Stuart Downing, Charlie Adam! The list goes on and on.

Football has been a business since the early 90's and it's only going to get worse.

I love what Klopp is building at the moment and am glad we didn't buy just for the sake of it in January when we sold Coutinho.

Maybe we should have put another £35m bid to bring Andy Caroll back to Anfield?

Want to blame anyone in recent times for our demise then blame David Moore’s for holding our club back!

03 Mar 2018 08:23:12
Bomb fire 😂.

03 Mar 2018 08:36:22
Planet reality? There's none so blind as those who can't see. You've bought into propaganda mate and are far too patriotic to give a realistic opinion.

03 Mar 2018 11:11:38
Predictive text unfortunately stone age and I didn't read through my post before hitting the send button, but if that's your only retort to my post it shows you have nothing to counter my points.

You're all getting excited about maybe getting to where Arsenal have been for the last 15 years regularly top four win the odd F.A. Cup and have lots of money in the bank. They have got away with that business model for maybe 6 or 7 longer than they should of and its finally caught up with them, and you all aspire to that? I've probably been spoilt by the success I've witnessed but for me it's about being the very best and that will never happen under these owners.

03 Mar 2018 16:13:59
Sorry Waro it was a cheap shot but it just made me smile for a sec. Rather than an Arsenal, I genuinely see us challenging City for the top spot next season. We’re also heading for the last 8 in the champions league hopefully (maybe further, who knows but we can dream? ), our footy is exciting and entertaining and we have one of the best stadia in the world. The fact we’re operating at a profit is irrelevant.

02 Mar 2018 07:11:05
I would personally like Fabinho to come in the summer and play the deeper midfield position, he reminds me a bit of Lucas Leiva but with more energy and better on the ball. Push Henderson a bit further forward with Keita front 3 and back 4 unchanged.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

02 Mar 2018 07:25:08
Fabinho would be a dream signing, I've said to my friends loads of times he'd be the midfielder I choose if we were going for one. Sadly I imagine he is on the radar of teams who are perhaps more attractive propositions. Would be a hell of a coup if we could sign him though.

02 Mar 2018 08:04:41
Is Fabinho that good? Many times i've seen him stroll back to position and he was originally a RB who was used as a make shift DM and did well due to injuries, has a low work-rate and is sloppy in position at times. But maybe i saw him on bad days or something. Have you seen any of him ed001? You're probably the best judge of players ability i know of!

{Ed001's Note - that is exactly what I think, a stroller who does not do enough and would not touch him. I don't see anything outstanding about him at all. The only thing I can suggest that might be a mitigating factor in his lack of performance is that he wanted out a couple of years ago. I just do not get the deal with him in midfield, he is terrible. Not bad at right back, but again, nothing special.}

02 Mar 2018 08:06:36
Been calling for fabinho since the summer. Be an excellent signing have a word Bobby same with Allison.

02 Mar 2018 17:02:42
Fabinho is not good enuff to play in the DM role and he is one of the reason's why Monaco have to outscore teams as they are SO easy to get at.

Good read Ed. Fair play to Merton. Should be more like him.

{Ed001's Note - took me a while to figure out who you meant than! I was thinking of that guy from Have I Got News For You and wondering why you mentioned him.}

02 Mar 2018 11:51:39
Sorry Ed. New phone. Got the silly text on.

{Ed001's Note - no worries, there are so many stories in these I lose track of them so it is difficult to decipher typos etc.}
