Manchester City rather than Liverpool are in discussions with Arsenal over the possible signing of French international defender Gael Clichy

02 Jul 2011 22:49:27
Liverpool are the latest club to be linked to Caen rising star M'baye Niang and are reported to have made an initial enquiry to the French club.

Eds do you think we are going to give our up and coming youngsters a lot off game time this season ?One youngster who should get playing is jesus saez.Before we signed him real and barca were after him but he chose liverpool.I know you will say he is to young but at eighteen in november thats surely old enough.Maybe the silence coming out of anfield is because dalglish thinks he has the talent already at his disposal, but i would like to see him sign mata, dann and a solid left full(not over priced).Sell the deadwood and push for a top four finish.

02 Jul 2011 22:30:48
Downing would be an acceptable signing as long as we sign another better quality, more skillful winger with more pace aswell. If Downing was to be our 'marquee signing' we should be very concerned with where our club is heading and also the ambition of the owners...

Four years ago we were bought by two big talking American owners, promising big, big players and a new fancy stadium.

One year ago, it was confirmed those Americans had bought the club to its knees. Hodgson was installed, Mascherano the latest 'big' player to be off loaded, Konchesky, Poulsen, Cole and Meireles added to the squad. Reina, Torres and Gerrard were denied an 'out' due to the club being up for sale.

9 months ago we were bought out by another American Company and the fans embraced John Henry as some sort of saviour.

7 months ago, the ref blows the whistle on a home defeat with Wolves, which personally i have never seen such an appalling performance.

6 months ago, Hodgson was sacked and Dalglish put in temporary charge. Performances pick up, results pick up. Some performances were superb with the odd poor performance thrown in to ensure supporters do not get carried away. Added into the mix an astonishing transfer window where we buy and sell over £50M concerning 4 players.

Roll on to this summer, the British transfer window opens and bang we go straight in and purchase what the club says 'is its number one transfer target' with upwards of £20M going to Sunderland for a very young Henderson.

What a far cry from 12 months previous. An absolute total change in the club. Here we are bidding, successfully £20M (let's not get hung up whether it's £14-16-18M) on a player the club thinks will be an absolute fantastic addition.

No mucking about, can't complain about haggling. The same theory was taken with Andy Carroll. We wanted him and we got him. FULL STOP.

So reading the posts on here this summer must be a real eye opener for someone who hasn't been paying attention for the last few months.

The International transfer window is yet to even open. What more do the owners have to do to get even the smallest crumb of respect?

They've spent the best part of £70M on players, more on managers past and present, staff and infrastructure etc. etc. We have posters moaning about a lack of activity, too much money spent, the lack of quality in the players bought, the players we haven't bought, the players that have slipped through the net, the players we have allowed to slip through the net.

"£70M" i hear you cry "£70M on Carroll, Suarez and Henderson? Why not Aguero, Sanchez, Neymar? Oh no and we end up with Adam, Downing and Enrique. Why not Cointeau, Alonso and Hazard?"

Three years of no investment in the team. H&G's only improvement to keep other players happy was with wage improvements and stupid clauses inserted which was no more than a sticking plaster on the problem.

What more do you want right this very minute? Because you seriously need to reign in your sky high unrealistic expectations. Good ol' Ed002 is having a right laugh dealing with the amount of posters who just appear to have lost what common sense they had.

If you do some research, you will find the majority of signings will happen generally in the latter part of the month of July with another 'surge' coming around the 20th August to the end of the window.

If i were John Henry rwading this website, i's be calling H&G back up saying "You know what? Both sides deserve each other."

You negative, moaning, bitching bunch of a***holes are actually the fan equivalent of Hicks & Gillett and you know what? You are equally despised by all us genuine supporters. You are not wanted, you are not needed and you certainly are not a fan of this club.

From now on sign your posts as Tom Hicks. You will be treated as him from now on.

instead of the carroll in the janurary transfer they could of brought strikers like benzema. right now i dont think they should buy downing his too expensive for a 27yrd old. for an extra striker they should buy either Diego forlan, his partnership with suarez is excellent or they can buy aguero if they load off the likes of jovanovic, cole etc also podolski his a quality player so underated he could come for at least 15m+ . midfilders n wingers they should look at elia, javier martinez, mata, nasri, ganso, juese navas. defenders: gary cahill, vermaelen, kompany

First of all who are you eds peoples and where do you get your info from? Pls answer {Ed002's Note - We all live communally in a half way house after being released from various prisons and institutions. This gives us the opportunity of giving a little something back to the community using information gathered almost exclusively from the nice folk at KopTalk.}

Adam and downing are becoming a bit of a saga Could this all be a smoke screen for other (better) targets? {Ed002's Note - No.}

02 Jul 2011 20:32:36
So many rumours about so many players, we are all so excited for the new season that we are all becoming so gullible and unrealistic. So many people claiming they have a source and thats including the eds. Not one person said we would sign Henderson so where were your sources then.

Simple as this ..Liverpool and kk can mess around all summer long with possible transfers and haggling over a few mill here and there, thinking there been clever..but ..if we dont sigh at least 3 or 4 quality players for the first team..we will struggle to get 4th..Unless we get some better players in who can pass the ball accurately and keep possesion.it will be just more of the same..we should try and sing 3 defenders, get rid of konchesky, skrtle, soto, and Aurelio ..all useless as far as consistancy is concerned..grand for a few games here and there..put a waste of money...Go and buy Zapata, vargas, and Cahil or Dann ..thats the Cb and lb positions sorted Zapata can play Rb also ..loan out shelvy , bring in Adam Adam can play anywhere across midfield , and is just as good a passer of the ball if not better and more consistant than Alonso , just pay the 9million and get em.. ...get rid of jovanovic and cole for downing and miner and buy in a decent striker..simple as that my friends..even the like of turan, lennon., jarvis, adam johnson, marcus albrighton, ..there, s loads of players out there..and they, d all improve our squad..so what are we waiting for..

the next person after this post to type AdamS should be banned from the site. Sorry ed but it really is getting beyond a joke now. I mean how many people have to point it out before they get it? Look for the last time his name is Charlie Adam with no "s" on the end Rant over, vexed of Eastham. ALB. (apologies Ed it's freaking me out that much I hope we don't sign him just coz of that alone). {Ed002's Note - We agree, but we started the threat of banning a couple of posts back, so it looks like it is you who will be banned.}

02 Jul 2011 19:39:03
Turns out no one knows anything on this site, daglish has said for months thats transfer dealings will be done behind closed doors, so for anyone to '' know this will be done by such a date'' cannot be true.
KK has took liverpool back to what they used to be like under shankley, any problems, transfers and sackings will only be announced once it is resolved or deals have been made.
I for one has faith in KK transfer policy and even though we have missed out on some ''targets'', he has proven that he will not be held to ransom and if you are worth the money he will pay good money for you, henderson is the perfect example. Think about the last 4 months of the season, we were points wise the best team in the league, so perhaps maybe he doesnt think we need 5, 6 or 7 players that people are quoting. Good site by the way. Funny to see some of the players people think we are getting.

02 Jul 2011 19:38:16
I love this site but I am getting soooo bored of coming on and seeing the same 3/4 names on every post Adam and downing are particularly annoying as I don't think they will offer anything more than depth They aren't world beaters Adam Johnson in my opinion is better than downing and younger and probably not much more expensive Adam is a good player in a bad team bur why do we even need him now we have more midfielders than any other position If mata signs then he signs If he doesn't we'll get someone else Diegos attitude would be non existent, nobody man-manages better than the king End of the day there are 2 people connected to Liverpool that know what's going on KK and DC and they're both keeping tight lipped

I am still not confused that Liverpool would be buying proper players not another deadwood. I don't agree with the owners that buying young players will not let win the PL. We need to get at least two world class players.
Please Ed let me know if will win the PL?

And another thing Giving Dalglish the job as manager on a permanent basis was a big mistake. So what if he has won 29 trophies as a player & 11 as a manager 40 trophies, big deal. I think we would have been better sticking with Hodgson. He would have turned us around eventually & we would probably be back in the Premier League this time next year.You cant keep a good player down & the likes of Konchesky, Poulsen & Cole would have shown their quality. Every one who knows anything about football will know that our turn of form since January was nothing to do with Daglish & more to do with the best coach in Europe, Sammy Lee. Sad to see you go Sammy, Liverpool will be a worse football team without you. Dalglish Out is what i say

02 Jul 2011 18:51:12
Ed, I know this is probably see a stupid question and I will get flack for it. Do we scout the Primera Division much? I live in Texas (San Antonio), and they show A LOT of those games down here. There are some hidden jems, and rough diamonds in that leauge. They could also be bought for a hell of alot less then some of the overpriced talent in the La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, etc. They tackle hard like EPL, and go all in. They play their hearts out. Look at what Javier Hern ndez has done for Untied, though I hate to admit it. I would not even mind taking a chance on dos Santos if Spurs would sell. At 22 he should be first team there, not being loaned out. Maybe if he had someone like Kenny to mentor him, he could find his game in the EPL. He fits FSG's profile of youth, and I would rather have him once a finished product then that donkey Adams. He already has 3 goals, and 1 assist in the Gold Cup in 3 games. He only cost Spurs 6 million Euro, I am sure with Arry's limited budget he would take 7 million Pounds and call it a day. That's a profit and money for his kitty. Just a thought. Cheers {Ed002's Note - I don't know that Liverpool do. I don't know if many English clubs do for that matter.}

hey ed.....would like to know what you opinion is of Raheem Sterling......looks like one of the best prospects we have had for a while.....do you think he will get a chance, maybe in the cup games and having someone developing him like Rodolfo Borrell who has worked with Messi and Iniesta as youngsters how far do you think he can go in terms of a world beater {Ed002's Note - He is just a kid but as you say a good prospect. He is not ready for the first team yet but may get a run out in the league cup at some point. Perhaps then a loan to the Championship next year.}

To the earlier poster saying A**m would've only scored 2 tap in's if it wasn't for taking set pieces.Ye mate its a piece of piss scoring free kicks like A**m, not just baggin them but top corner Rover's, bottom corner Scum.Keeper's no chance of saving them mate.So your logic is that if A**m wasn't playing in the games were he scored free kicks, the person taking them would of.Hypothetical i know but i very much doubt it.Same with Pens.Scored 7 out of 8, might look easy but still knocks em in bar one. And he does take coroners, thats why Blackpool scored from a good few last season.And the tap him i seen him score was a ball that got passed square to him and he stuck it in the top corner. He also set numerous goals up in open play as well. He was involved in over 20 goals for Blackpool directly or a pass or cross away. So talk to s**t about tap ins.

Hey eds i know this has nothing to do with liverpool but who do you reckon is the best penalty taker in the world. Also why don't kk sign pastore. and i really hope mata comes to liverpool {Ed002's Note - Pastore is not an option. Liverpool do not have that sort of money to spend and there is no interest in him. As for penalty takers, perhaps Ronldinho.}

Do you think anymore players will step up again from academy? If so who? Cocko

02 Jul 2011 17:13:42
Well it's already the 2nd of July at 5pm & we still haven't signed anyone. I mean WTH is going on here? What are KK, Commoli & Fsg doing? Why haven't we signed at least 5 players? They're all there Aguero, Hazard, Sanchez, Neymar & Sneider are players all available & reasonably cheap £200
million should get them & if we sell of all our dud players then it might only cost us £190 million. So what's keeping us? I'm telling you now, if there is no progress by Monday I'm gonna be really cross & I can't promise that my toys aren't gonna be thrown out of the pram. I might even throw a trantrum & start abusing KK & the owners.

Hi Ed's
Just wondering if you think Charlie Adam would offer more than Raul Meireles in midfield?

Regards,

Just read this as part of a short interview with Suarez. If [Pep] Guardiola wants me, he will want me totally independently of who represents me."

Now I dont believe everything I read from SSN, but this is a direct quote from the player himself. He also says its his dream to play for Barcelona. Heard that somewhere before from some Argentine DM. Not sure he's here for the long haul. A bit disappointed by this comment. Think someone needs to have a word in his shell like. Whats your take on this Ed.
ROYZERED. {Ed002's Note - The inteview was given in Spanish and remarkably the translated extractions keep showing up without the associated questions. Just ignore it.}

Charlie adam's mate reckons Adam will b an LFC player by end of Monday.

why would we be looking at strikers. we have carroll and suarez we need wingers

02 Jul 2011 16:37:56
Hey Ed, Do you think Suso, Pacheco and Sterling will be given a run in the team..If so, then do we really need to chase after the likes of Mata..I think they should..They have to break in somehow.
Cheers
KBT {Ed002's Note - I think Pacheco will likely leave. The others may get a run out or two. They are a long way off being regulars in the first team.}

Which players would u most want us 2 sign ed.could you please say one for striker midfielder and defender.
Thanks. Please post on rumours..

Jacob red. {Ed002's Note - Perhaps Vargas and Turan now that Payet has gone.}

02 Jul 2011 16:30:53
disagree if u want but adam has only scored pens, free kicks, tap ins, and about 1 long range shot. if he didnt have set piece duty he would of scored about 3 goals. so i believe meireles is better. yes adam can tackle but he should of seen red for the challenge on bale and against utd he flew into a tackle and it was a stone wall penalty. just saying adam can be reckless. on another note dont take notice of this exit talk linked to suarez. i mean who wouldn't want to play for barcelona.

Red till Dead i always read your posts, mostly make sense a lot of the time, mostly. But i didn't ball Bolivia a pub team, i said they were a team of farmers, where only 5 of the players play outside of Bolivia. Re the 6-1 result you talk about , it was played in La Paz which is the up in the clouds mate, about a mile above sea level, maybe more.You need at least a week, longer really, for your body to get anywhere near getting used to not being able to get the red blood cells it needs for doing any serious cardiovascular work i.e playing a football match. It affects even simple as jogging. Its also why they were so hard to beat at home, and why they are no longer allowed to play competitive games their anymore. To add to that it was part of a crazy World Cup qualifying campaign, were Maradona used 40 to 50 players in it, maybe more. So their's extremly compelling evidence that the 6-1 result was a freak due to very very important and strong circumstance's why that result happened, as explained above. I do rate the player, think he's very good but that seems to have been overlooked, and its like i said he was s**te. He's defo not world class by any means.Messi, Ronaldo, Sanchez and Cavani (who would be a miles better purchase then Kun would ever be) now their world class. Jonson6

Suarez, Reina, Gerrard is top class. but who is our top class wing in both side? we didnt use young talent that much as man u did. we have few very good young man Raheem and Suso but they hardly play even 10 minutes, not even after we go 3-0 up. we know both of them can be batter then any young talent in EPL.

02 Jul 2011 15:49:04
well my under standing is that we dont need Charlie Adam we have more then we need in midfeld and i like Meireles and with Aquilani mayby staying that good 4 me? so we need to winger that can get past a player and put a good ball into the box 4 andy carroll ? so i think we shoud go 4 lift side milner right side lennon you have speed from lennon and milner put a good ball in and work very hard ? they will cost 20mil ech but wood give us all we need to use andy to are stranthgs what do you think liverpool fans

The rumour about Suarez isn't true but I do know his missus isn't very happy in the city she can't settle and the club are doing ther best to try and make her settle the staff know this will be a problem maybe next year i personally think Suarez will have a more difficult season than last because of copa America and his surprise factor for defenders will disappear.

Does anyone agree with me that the Mancs, despite spending what they have, have not necessarily improved their first team line up.
Ok, they were forced into a new keeper, but he's no better than VDS. Is Jones better than Smalling, Ferdinand and Vidic? And is Young better than what they fielded las season (Valencia, Nani, Giggs)?
Why am I going on about them you may ask. Well, everyone seems worried that they are spending big and we are not. But all they seem to have done is replaced a retired keeper, replace an ageing Giggs, and got some back up for the back four. So in reality, so far they have only done what everyone else has done - nothing.

I know that it was January and that it was right near the end of the window but paying £35 million for Carroll is ridiculous, especially when barcelona do not want to pay that much for Fabregas And then Jordan Henderson for 20 million madness

i Dont always agree with what Jonson6 says but nevertheless his posts always make interesting reading. Also, he always leaves his name after his post unlike the one who posted those ridiculous made up stats . Also the poster with stats on kun is a bare faced liar those stats are Bulls**t. In 229 career games he's scored 97 goals. delongy

I am well aware that we have a number of targets, most of which we have bid for but either they have gone elsewhere or the deals are being dragged out over a price, something which Man United seem to avoid, they want someone they sign them. I know that we do not have CL football but why is it that these deals are taking so long?

I think we only need 3 more signings and then our spending should be completed.
Adam, Downing and Defoe would be those players for me.
All proven in the prem.

With the Greek having extended his deal and Wisdom maturing into a fine back liner, we are covered in that area.
Johnson can fill in at left back, as can Robinson occasionally.

Aquilani, Gerrard, Adam, Henderson, Lucas and Shelvey make for a strong midfield.
Downing, Maxi and Toni Silva on the wings should set us up nicely.

With Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt and Defoe Kenny will have the four class strikers he wants.

The beauty is that Adam, Downing and Defoe are signings that could all be done and dusted within the next week or two, giving them ample time for preseason.

Terrific business if you ask me.
Less than £50m spent and fairly low wages. Rest of the dosh goes into the stadium. Should set us up nicely for the FFF rules.

Considering what the owners have said about sterilizing our wage bill and Kenny saying that we only just need tinkering, I'd say the above is quite likely.

Your take, ed?

Harry

By the time you had this written you could have just explained that it was just a dream of his but something unlikely to happen for the next year or 2, if ever
Do you just tell people to read all yesterdays posts to just get them back for their repetitive questions ed?

Last thing i'm going to say on the subject Eds. But if people read my original post they would see that i said Aguero was a very good player but for what he's done in his career he should no way be paid what he is, and the same goes for his tranfer fee, which is the lesser of the 2 evils because everybody seems to be overpriced these days but his wages take the piss for a guy who has 1 hatrick for Atletico, ever. Then you get someone who doesn't even leave their name trawling the web looking for his stats including 5 a sides and training by the looks of it. You'd have thought he'd be nominated for the World player of the year before now with figures like that. And then someone else pops up and because he came on and scored the winner against a load of farmers its like, is it a bird.is it a plane no its Superkun. Ye he did well i i wasn't rippin the guy. But it was against Bolivia not Brazil.To even mention him in the same post as Messi is a piss take alone. Very good player but a poor mans Suarez at best. It seems like he's more interested in money then playing C.L footy thats why he's off to Juve. Jonson6

02 Jul 2011 13:07:52
All the people moaning on this site really need to think before they post, If you look through our side it is filled with quality and we only need a few players to make a realistic challenge for the title ... Obviously we need a new left back, nobody knows who though but there is ample quality to choose from ... Hopefully a new centre back - Dann and a new centre mid- Adam but these are not pressing issues. If we then sign a new left winger - Downing/Mata our squad will be one of the leagues best ...

02 Jul 2011 13:01:53
hope we get adam soon as his range of passing and of dead ball situations would definately improve us

02 Jul 2011 12:58:01
Ed we have been linked to 66 players Granted july has only just come up but when do you think we will finally sign a target? I along with many other LFC fans im sure are growing restless with Teams such as man utd getting there ahead of us Please write back...

Corin {Ed002's Note - Henderson has already signed. It is impossible to say when the next player will arrive - but efforts are being made to strike deals for the likes of Adam and Downing. As far as I know, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal et al have not done as much business as Liverpool, so it is a pity the fans need to complain quite as much as they are doing.}

02 Jul 2011 12:44:40
To those who are 'bored' wiith the charlie adam 'saga'....... You sound like spoilt brats. show some respect.

02 Jul 2011 12:41:51
i know people are moaning alot on here about not being quick off the mark on signings but i do have to be honest. i can see some of the points they are making. iam mean we do have dc who should be lineing up players. they said back at the end of the jan window they would of liked to of signed one or two more but ran out of time. so you would of thought dc would of worked on them deals ready for the start of this tranfer window. i trust kk all the way but i have to say iam not so sure with dc to be honest.

02 Jul 2011 12:22:05
{Ed002's Note - You keep mentioning another team, their players and their stadium and then Google will think it is full of Manchester United fans and place the ad. You making this post have made it worse.}

----------------------------

Not being funny ed but we are constantly mentioning LFC and our players on here yet there are no Liverpool FC adverts etc

The Crow

{Ed002's Note - Then nobody has paid Google to advertise Liverpool. But MU gets another mention from your post. The more it gets raised the longer it will last.}

02 Jul 2011 12:20:03
Reading Oyston's comments I think we have to get Adam over this weekend because this is getting ridiculous my sources are telling me Liverpool are haggling with Villa for around 15m whereas Villa want nearer 18m. My source is that I live in West Mids and have a very good sources within Villa

02 Jul 2011 12:18:15
No from me but apparently Brian Rose friend of Charlie Adam has said that he is sure Charlie will be a LFC player by monday on twitter probably if u wanna check it out.

ed.. how about banning anybody who mentions c*****e a**m again...startin with me

02 Jul 2011 12:12:27
The way I see it, and I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong, Liverpool need at least four players for every position. The majority of these positions are filled with the players we have and the reserves who will likely get opportunities this season eg:

CB: Carra, Skrtel, Agger, Kelly, Wisdom, Ayala
FB: Johnson, Aurelio, Robinson. Flanagan
CM: Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Spearing, Shelvey, Coady
WGR: Maxi, Sterling
FWD: Kuyt, Morgan, Suarez, Carroll

However there are gaping holes on the wings and at FB positions. I also feel, with Gerrards injury record we could do with another CM.

If I were in charge of the LFC transfer policy I would be setting these three positions as my priorities and I believe that they will do the same.

Cole, Jovanovic, El Zhar, Konchesky, Insua, Ngog, Poulson, Jones, Meireles, Aqualani, Pacheco, Soto and Darby all need to be sold to generate funds and create space. If they cannot be sold they will be loaned so as to reduce the wage bill.

Don't get me wrong, I like Meireles and Pacheco but I am not sure there is space for the former and the later is unlikely, in my opinion, is not good enough for a physical premier league.

Liverpool are in discussions over A**m who will complete our midfield for the immediate future.

The wings and LB should then be our priorities, the Valencia friendly has nothing to do with any deal for Mata, yet, however it could be used as a bargaining tool with Valencia receiving all takings from the fixture. LFC do definitely have an interest and have money to spend but with other clubs circling there are no guarentees.

Downing would do a job and is proven in the prem, he is not my first choice but he would be an excellent signing in terms of ability and experience.

LB I have no idea but time will tell.

well my under standing is that we dont need C*****e A**m we have more then we need in midfeld and i like Meireles and with Aquilani mayby staying that good 4 me? so we need to winger that can get past a player and put a good ball into the box 4 andy carroll ? so i think we shoud go 4 lift side milner right side lennon you have speed from lennon and milner put a good ball in and work very hard ? they will cost 20mil ech but wood give us all we need to use andy to are stranthgs what do you think liverpool fans

im glad ur not the manager of liverpool

02 Jul 2011 12:07:46
Why do people here doubt actual news but not the ridiculous? On the reason for LFC playing Hull...the reason a leak took place is because Grimsby Town were angry enough to release the news after Hull cancelled a game between the two sides..."The Tigers will now play Liverpool on the same day which has been arranged because of an impending player transfer between the two clubs."

source: www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0, , 10417 2384263, 00.html

the reason it is thought to be Crainey is because he is the only player we have ever shown interest in. All of these things are facts and not hearsay.

02 Jul 2011 12:06:51
Mata and Elia wud make us attacking world beaters and bring back memories of the class of 88'.... Suarez(Beardsley), Carroll(Aldridge), Elia(Barnes) and Mata(Houghton)

02 Jul 2011 11:56:49
I can't believe KK isn't planning to move for Leighton Baines. He's a propper Dalglish type of player - Lots of energy, good crosser (Carrol), and he fits the magic "criteria" PLUS his initials are LB - Need i say more?

I expect Downing, A**m and Doni transfers will go thru. (Would be embarrassing if they didn't now)

Also, my crystal ball tells me Clint Dempsey and Chris Brunt are dancing around provocatively in the Kenny's head......

Bram

02 Jul 2011 11:45:10
Ed you said earlier that we don't need aguero. Have you ever thought that we might play 433 with suarez aguero and carrol upfront. THen we buy a player like downing to give us an option of playing a different way. Football is about options and you have to have different styles and i think based on the midfielders we have got that we will play 433

02 Jul 2011 11:38:33
Can people stop linking us with £20m+ strikers please We already have £57.8m worth of attack and are not gonna buy another and have a striker that cost over £20m on the bench every week

We are not going to sign Leighton Baines as he is an Everton player and they would not sell to us unless we paid a ridiculous fee.

I think we should push ahead with our interest in Mata, Hazard, Roux and Dann. I also think we should try and buy Gary Cahill.
There is no Guarentee that we will get any of these players but we should attempt to get them.

We seemed to have ended our interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain and Arsenal look likely to sign him soon.

We are also set to sign Doni in the coming days as he has had a change of heart and it is reported that he is willing to take a pay cut to join us.

SPORTSVIBE - Sat 2nd July

Liverpool are believed to be closing in on C.Adam.
Yawn.One of the most longest and boring transfer saga's in the history of football for what in my opinion is only an average player, Far more pressing concerns like two wingers an a left back.

J.R.

02 Jul 2011 11:20:18
how about ROYSTON DRENTHE can play anywhere down the left and as no future at madrid i think the move could kickstart his cereer again and i would suspect could be picked up at a reasonable price {Ed009's Note - not good enough}

Great addictive site guys. There are however some things people say or just things that are discussed on here that make me smile. Here are a few,
The assumption that players who supported the club as a kid will want to move to us regardless of the financial stuff.
Statements the players are not 'Liverpool class'.
Talk of smokescreens.
We got beat to 'Connor Wickham' by Sunderland.
KK and DC don't get on.
DC needs to pull his finger out.
Complaints we spent too much
Complaints we didn't offer enough
The phrase 'deadwood'
People thinking cos they read it in the gossip section of LFC.TV it is somehow a declaration of intent from the club.
The Charlie Adam saga (great player, but starting to feel like Gareth Barry all over again).
People slagging off Andy Carroll. Give the lad a chance.
People who slag of NESV / FSG and don't remember how bad it got under the last ownership.
Lee

liverpool have posted on their website that we r interested in aguero.And last time they listed their transfer targets they put pictures of most lickely targets and they have put a picture of aguero

02 Jul 2011 11:09:39
theturdz here all this kack bout suarez wanting to play for barca, all the best players in the world would love to play in that team me included anyway he aint going nowere yet he will fire us into the champions league next season im sure of that and also with us not having euro footy we can take the prem along the way have faith redmen we will be fighting for top spot im sure of that what took fergie 6 years will take the king 18months im certain of that

02 Jul 2011 10:59:30
Does anyone get the 'tevez' about Suarez?

I've never insulted a player on here before, and I worship the ground that lad walks on, but I can't help feel that eventually we may start to hear moans. It's in their blood...

02 Jul 2011 10:51:23
Liverpool are too lumbered with the dead wood and their ridiculous wages Cole, Jovanovich, Aqualani, Poulson.... I think we'll pay the money for players but need to get Benitez and Hodgson's muppet show off the wage bill

02 Jul 2011 10:49:20
I watched the game last night and you say Aguero hit the winner but fail to mention the giants of South American football it was against. Brazil, Chile, Uraguay or was it the real giants of South American football Bolivia. Where he came on as sub against a team that had 5 yes 5 players that played outside the Bolivian league starting. So drag up all his stats from cup matches and say he's this and that and instead of just replyin to the post stick mine up and then have your little hissy fit. He came on against a tiring team of farmers and scored. whoppy f***in do. I said in my original post i thought he was a good player just not worth no where near the wages and fee's being talked about, and that he wouldn't get a game, well i was half right because their was no way he was starting. How many career hatricks has he got, seeing you've counted every goal from every comp in your stats round up. Jonson6

02 Jul 2011 10:46:44
Just my opinion Liverpool should make a bid for Kieren gibbs Great Prospect will replace Glicy if he moves on think we could get him for about 5Mil so cheap and young {Ed009's Note - surely Arsenal will need him more if Clichy goes? Arsene loves Gibbs and he would have been first choice anyway were it not for his ridiculous susceptibility to injury.}

02 Jul 2011 10:33:01
just an idea of a top class player. Hernanes, plays for lazio, great midfielder with flair and passion, would be great in CM or on either of the Flanks.

02 Jul 2011 10:27:52
adam saga is getting boring now, its obvious oyston wont sell to us, lets just move on with other targets now. on the striker front i would like us to snap up nolan roux sharpish, i think he could offer more than wickham would have

02 Jul 2011 10:15:12
I was out in Seel Street area of Liverpool on Thursday night, and met a member of the Liverpool hierarchy (I am not teling who, and where). He was with a mutual friend of mine, and so we got chatting.

He just told me we do have money, but they are desperately trying to reduce the wage bill by getting shut of players like Poulsen/Cole. I went on in my drunken stupor and saying to him how we should forget about Downing, and be after players like Mata.
He just smiled, and said we are looking - and that Kenny has final say :)

He then divulged that Clichy had agreed to join Citeh that day too. And a surprise to me was how a certain former iberian Liverpool manager was disliked by him.

His obvious passion and honesty left me feeling like the club was in good hands.

02 Jul 2011 10:10:10
Also we'll see tonight if Aguero, the most hyped player of recent years even gets a game.Dont get me wrong very good player, but for what he's done so far in his career he's a lot to prove to justify his wages in my opinion, not to mention his tranfer fee. Thats if he starts the match, which is doubtful. Jonson6
---------------------------------------------
Not covinced yet mate?? Hit the winner last night and check his record out...
2010/2011 - 28 goals 7 assists
2009/2010 -21 goals 13 assists
2008/2009 - 25 goals 16 assists
2007/2008 - 32 goals 12 assists

The lad is quality his technique is second to none and the way he can quickly fire out accurate shots with barely half a touch to set himself when receiving the ball is amazing. He is not as creative as Suarez but he appears more lethal in front of goal and they would compliment each other, you could even play Carroll up front with Suarez and Augero supporting and utilise flying wingbacks like Vargas and Johnson to provide the width and crosses for Carroll.

02 Jul 2011 10:07:24
Ed, is there any truth in the suggestion that we have signed Cairney from Hull? Tried to youtube him and got nothing apart from saddo computer football game goals. Also, is it only me out there who thinks Pacheco should be in with a shout of a few starts this season, he did well at Norwich on loan and still talks well of Liverpool. If injuries get as bad as at certain points of last season (think Spearing & Flanagan) Pacheco could well do a job for us. {Ed002's Note - Cairney seems to still be an unconfirmed rumour.}

02 Jul 2011 09:49:03
Good to see that overhyped overpaid argntinian which most people feel is average (aguero) did his usual average performance last night. What? He scored? He was outstanding and saved argentinas bacon? I think you have that wrong everyone knows he's overrated. It must have been messi that saved the day.

He won't be comin to liverpool but last night showed how well he can play in a good team, he may not seem that special at atletico but they are a poor team.

Whilst this isn't technically a transfer rumour, it is about a potential target, so don't shoot me down lol

Thought you might like to know about a chance to see Valencia and Juan Mata up close and personal.

Valencia are playing Cluj (Romania) in a pre season friendly at Northwich Vics on Fri 5th Aug, just happens to be the day before they take on the reds.

It's a tiny non league ground so a real opportunity to watch close up and I would guess a good chance for autograph and photo hunters after the game.

Just happens to be my home town so I'm pleased as I can't make it to Anfield the day after.

Morning all,
Firstly Suarez' comments. Taken out of context I am sure. Any footballer would love to play for Barca right now (poss barring Madrid-born players), they're playing the best stuff on the planet at present. These things go in cycles.
Secondly, all players are replaceable. irish Kev posted this sentiment last night. I agree entirely.
Some players are harder to replace than others, this is true - think Souness when he left.
But in time they are replaced and the team goes on.
McMahon for Souness.
We all tend to get wrapped up on individual players. I was totally gutted when Torres left.
Now - just a memory.
It's a team game, and I would rather an effective team than 2 x great individuals.
The Real KB
ps I'm not to be confused with the poster KB. He posts s***e, I post Real S***e

"question ed. Not being smart but all this talk of the club playing its cards close to their chests and such, how come the world and its mother seem to know who we are in for? same names, same results, with all the players we've been linked to, how can they possibly holding their cards close to their chests {Ed002's Note - It is very difficult to keep anything quiet with clubs, players, agents etc involved.}"

Look mate, the world and its Mother don't know anything - I would say 99% of the targets discussed on here have never been targets. The rumours either come from Agents trying to get a move for a player, Newspapers/TV trying to fill space because pretty much everybody in the know has been on a beach for the past month & (most importantly) people who spend all day in front of a computer endlessly trawling the interent looking for rumours started by said agents/newspapers/TV.

hi, my wife sleeps with footballers and the word on the pillow is liverpool to sign johnson this week,

02 Jul 2011 06:31:35
if evryone is saying the KING can get the best out of this player and that player then why not give AQUAMAN and COLE chance..? we all know they are quality players and if play to their potentials can be devastating.. why go for medicre signings this summer if we have the potentially good players.. I have full faith KING can take us to top 4 then next summer we can attract marquee players with European football under our belt..

02 Jul 2011 06:09:00
Ok... this is a rumour site.... aewsome site.. But people sometimes push some limits... suarez goint to barcelona... are u nuts....? i think today if PEP approaches ROONEY even he wouldn't say no to Barcleona.. every player in the world wants to play for them.. It's just a statement.. dont make a big deal out of it.... AND for the eds, you guys are awesome and hats off to you for showing such patience to idiots..

02 Jul 2011 06:03:07
I wish some people would grow up. Liverpool pay over the odds for a player Carroll (Who I do like and i think has the potential to be a fantastic player, but worth £35m?) they get slammed, Liverpool refuse to meet sum valuations on sum players Downing, Wickham (£12m is a bit much for this guy) they get slammed talk about lose, lose situation.

At the end of the day if some of you actually knew what you were talking about and not talking out of your a** you would be managing Liverpool not on a rumours page complaining about us not paying ridiculous money for a player.

I personally only want players at Liverpool that want to come here, if a player would prefer to play for ManU or Sunderland then they are welcome to them and good riddance.

I personally would have given my right bu****k to have been given the chance for play for Liverpool and I only want players at the club that would do the same. And before anyone says Wickham is a big fan, he might have been but he wanted first team football and Liverpool would not match the Sunderland price. Thankgod gone are the days that we pay over the odds on players.

Not sure that you'd make the first team with that missing right bu***ck son

hi ed, it was on twitter earlier that the ny post has sold its shares in the redsox, could this have any bearing on lfc, jimmybosun {Ed002's Note - It'll be the New York Times not the post, but it is true that they have sold some of their interest. It will either be to FSG investors or to a third party. It is nothing whatsoever to do with Liverpool.}

Hi eds my first ever post. Addicted to the site, great job ur doin. Dont claim to have any reliable sources only wot ive read. Kk has stated liverpool wont be drawn into discussing transfers and im a big fan of him n have faith. Henry has said their are funds available. So i do believe their will be adequate signings. Only asking for this to be posted before we get the usual liverpool are missing out on signings and falling behind. Chelsea, spurs, citeh, arsenal have had little 2 no activity yet. Be patient lids, we're in safe hands in my opinion.
Many thanks

Eds, quick question..is there any interest in Mauro Zarate? I mean, if there's interest in Diego why not try our luck with Zarate.. young, quick, maybe a little too much of an individual type player but is not afraid to attack defenders. Wouldn't mind him if we couldn't get the likes of a Mata or Lavezzi.

Cease {Ed002's Note - There is no interest from Liverpool right now.}

Ed I have heard that Roma's keeped Doni will sign this weekend as Roma are going to pay him £1million compensation when he leaves and we have increased the wage we are offering him by a little so it evens out his drop in wages, you heard anything similar?

Cheers,
RedChris {Ed009's Note - the deal for Doni is back on, and will likely allow Gulacsi to move on loan to Hull.}

Very interesting Ed do you think it possible to facilitate similar deals with our own "Deadwood"?
kidmillions
{Ed009's Note - it is something that happens, if not regularly then often enough, when a player is moving to a club who are only willing to pay less wage. We could do this, if we can find a buyer in the first place.}

Ed Have i might of missed it, we all know
Sammy Lee has left the club, but i havent
seen anything on the club website, and
if he has gone the least they could of done
was recognise his contribution to the club.
Sammy wasnt my favorite person, but surley
thats the least the club could do {Ed001's Note - I am sure they are just waiting for him to get a new position, that way they can announce it as him leaving for a new job.}
It was on the Liverpool website I read it yesterday so get ye facts right ed ye joke ( suarez's left ball ) {Ed009's Note - he was just going on the information the poster gave - was that you by any chance?}

To the fan who asked earlier who asked was the Copa America on sky, its on ESPN.It starts in a couple of hours at 01.15. Argentina v Bolivia is the opening match. Uraguay's first game is on Monday night at 23.15 against Peru. Will be good to see Vargas playing, see if he can deal with Suarez? I very much doubt it but dont hold that against him, one can. Jonson6
