Hey eds what is your take on Chirivella, do you expect him to get a serious run next year? I personally like the player a lot think he is mature as his positional sense is spot on in my opion.,

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I like him a lot, but he is a couple of years away.}

02 Apr 2017 20:14:04
He is a very good player but at 19 years old he will (as is customary in England) be written off by all the fans unless he is first choice next season!

As Ed says though, he is a year or two away from Premier league football. He may be Technically gifted, have excellent awareness/ concentration and be a very good passer (He plays with his head up which makes him a top midfielder) but he is though still very fragile. He needs to bulk up to cope with the hustle and bustle of the brutal English game.

02 Apr 2017 20:45:30
Just happy that Klopp gave the academy a decent chance this season. We have at least two players coming through now, TAA and Woodburn.

If we can get one academy player a season to break into the first team each season then that will be a massive success.

02 Apr 2017 21:20:16
Another good 90 min today, in a strong away win vs twente. If he keeps playing on this level and stay away from injurys i can see him as a part of the first team next year.

02 Apr 2017 21:22:02
Ed001 do you see the club having the patience to stick with him and him in turn having the will, and patience to wait that coupla years. maybe out on loan to get to being a first team regular?

{Ed001's Note - he has been patient so far and he is still just a kid, the club certainly are ready to wait a bit longer.}

03 Apr 2017 14:04:20
Does the likes of Cheverella have an agent looking after his affairs?

If so the agent could unsettle the player in his development by filling the lads head about better deals and first team football somewhere else.

02 Apr 2017 19:32:38
Hearing of the fans singing about Colemans injury is not nice. Never nice to hear fans us or rivals taking pleasure from an injury like that. Hope Coleman gets back to his full fitness. Wouldn't wish an injury like that on anyone.

Believable26 Unbelievable0

02 Apr 2017 20:18:28
Yeah pretty classless. There are some fools who go to our games.

02 Apr 2017 20:15:53
Unlike Barkley, Williams, Davies and Koeman who seemed to wish an injury on just about all of our players!

Agree though, I hope it is just somebody stirring the pot. Chanting about an injury is just sick.

02 Apr 2017 21:57:16
Have to say I did giggle today at what happened at the Emerites which yet again proves what all clubs and real supporters have to deal with the while time. Wenger is the best thing to happen to that club ever and should be treated with the upmost respect from everyone in the footballing world, people could learn a lot from that man.

03 Apr 2017 14:00:08
Arsene has over-stayed his welcome and those fans are rightly fed up with his smug, beligerent and insulting attitude towards them while at the same time, doing nothing to allay their fears. Same goes for the board. They pay the most expensive season tickets in England and Arsene and his player have been serving them dross at the Emirates for the past 7-10 years.

Even a humble and hardworking player like Alexis is fed up with the perennial mediocrity at this club so I disagree with "people needing to learn from that man". His lessons are stale. outdated and prehistoric hence, he has nothing to teach anyone in world football, IMO.

03 Apr 2017 14:03:50
Completely out of order. Complain when one of our players get injured and make sick songs about another players horrific injury? Not on! Fortunately these fools are just a mindless minority, which i'm sure every club has.

02 Apr 2017 18:44:55
Is Naby Keita still an option for the summer?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine.}

02 Apr 2017 20:00:19
Don't think so, IMO. He just moved to RBL from RB Salzburg this season and RBL has loads of cash and don't need to sell. I would move on from him, really.

02 Apr 2017 18:22:59
We won, the 8 teams below us all dropped points. A great weekend. Same again mid week.

Believable17 Unbelievable0

02 Apr 2017 18:31:27
Benny, I know you we are consistently inconsistent and top 4 for us will be nerve wracking until it is mathematically secure, but isn't concerning ourselves with teams 20 points off us a bit much? 😉.

02 Apr 2017 12:14:44
Ed002! In terms of analytis, moneyball and all that kind of thing - are you aware or able to shed light on the calculations that lfc do when setting their transfer limit on players?
For e. g., we've heard in the past about the club not paying the extra couple mil to secure a player etc I'm interested in how tue value is figured out? Purely discussion based or do they try and apply some form of metric? Thanks in advance :)

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It will be based on subjectivity and the opinion of the performance analyst - who is now Sporting Director. Metrics and criteria such as moneyball really don't apply in such situations - and money ball is very baseball specific.}

02 Apr 2017 19:57:50
Fans do not even understand moneyball and it does not exist at Liverpool. I suggest some people go google the term moneyball and will confirm that it is a myth at Liverpool.

03 Apr 2017 00:18:33
thanks for the reply ed, how far advanced is the use of analytics in football? I imagine that owners would be keen for someone to come up with a magical formula that would help to rate players, ROI and so forth. Or perhaps there is a general consensus that football has too many variables involved to be able to create a reliable metric to rate and value players?
I appreciate if this doesn't go much further, but thanks for the reply!

{Ed002's Note - In terms of fitness and running about many clubs use statistical analysis. In terms of ability you need to use other means of measurement - such as watching them.}

02 Apr 2017 10:51:06
I agree with Ed 025 stating that Liverpool are nowhere near what they were in 80s. Yesterday's success was due in part to Klopp's tactics which seems to have improved in the last couple of months. The true test however will be away to WBA assuming we beat Bournemouth on Wednesday. The squad needs some serious investment. Left back, a defensive midfielder, a striker to replace Sturridge, and a left wing are in my priority. TAA can eventually make the right back. position himself. Another thing, Ed 025.Everton too aren't the team they were in the 80s.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - your dead right there von, oh for a tricky trev and a peter reid who would bring some quality to our midfield and a keeper like big nev, but times move on i suppose mate and the demands of the microwave supporters get even higher, money has ruined the game for me and managers and players are under constant scrutiny from the media to bring instant success, our 2 teams ruled the roost then and football seemed to be in a better place but nostalgia gets us nowhere i suppose, but at least we have our memories eh.. :)

02 Apr 2017 14:43:24
TBH of our team; firmino, mane, coutinho, lallana, Henderson, and Matip are the only ones who should feel safe with their spot. Can play good football but do lack genuine quality, a few players may need to settle etc but outside of those positions could look for improving.

Which is what drives me insane with supporters ok with coutinho going. Get if he wants to go and Barcelona submit an acceptable bid then fair enough, but stop acting like he is easily replaceable and wouldn't be missed! Look at fixing your weakest links before replacing one of your strongest.

02 Apr 2017 16:35:46
I agreed. Really appreciate your views Ed25. It's good once in awhile reading these that were not from the fans, but clearly honest opinions from fellow fans of the game, regardless the clubs they are supporting.

{Ed025's Note - im an evertonian heizan but also a football fan mate, seen some great teams in my time from 70,s leeds to arsenals invincible,s and all in between, i appreciate good football and even begrudgingly the liverpool sides from their very successful times, my two lads are both mad liverpudlians and so will be cut out of my will of course.. :)

02 Apr 2017 17:35:28
To many drugs getting smoked here me thinks, man city, chelsea, arsenal, spurs and utd must be poor teams with no quality either as we played them all twice this season and none of them were capable of beating us. Liverpool only need maybe a cpl of players and when we play the so-called lesser teams they need to get it in there heads that they not going to win by just turning up. When they get over it and graft as hard when we play the bottoms teams as they do against the top, then liverpool won't have a problem.
For the record if they'd done that this season we would already have the league in the bag.

02 Apr 2017 18:23:24
Ed, what surprised me is Koeman not stopping that poor carry on, he's a better manager than that and did well at the Saints without resorting to thug football. This is a guy that's been spoken about taking over Barcelona in the future.

{Ed033's Note - If Koeman is interested in the Barcelona job, he should of had the Everton players falling over pretending to be brought down and feigning injuries instead.

02 Apr 2017 20:53:35
Our team is short of quality in certain areas and we are not as good as our rivals in certain individual positions. However, because we have our best eleven with some quality in certain areas in addition to better tactics, great motivation and a great game plan, we are able to compete with any of the so called "better teams", which is why, they simply can't beat us REGARDLESS of where we play them.

As knuckles said, we have to sort our attitude out. Sometimes we look jaded and lack the drive, desire and belief to overcome the low block that lesser teams play with even though, we have succeeded in beating Swansea, Hull, Watford, Stoke, WBA, Boro, and Burnley already this season and none of those teams are in the top 7.

03 Apr 2017 00:21:03
there are perhaps just 2 or 3 teams today that can compare to our team and their success from the 80s. It is a ludicrous debate and such an unfair point to use.

03 Apr 2017 10:49:22
The comparison with the LFC team of 1980s is completely void and unnecessary. Imo the squad we have right now in terms of versatility and quality is better than anything we have had since 2009, so hopefully Klopp will have the resources to take the quality up by another notch in the summer.

02 Apr 2017 13:15:14
So west Ham have just announced that Bilic is not in danger of losing his job.

We all know what happens when clubs give such backing publicly to their managers. Axe will be dropped sooner or later.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

02 Apr 2017 15:04:08
Sullivan wants rafa to replace billic, the dreaded vote of confidence is a waste of time for all concerned.

02 Apr 2017 20:14:38
He's out the door and I'm sure Bilic is smart enough to know that.

03 Apr 2017 08:51:13
If Bilic was allowed to smoke inside PL stadiums, I am certain west ham would have 10 extra points.

02 Apr 2017 11:33:25
Just a note for everyone bleating on about Sakho looking immense at Palace and wanting him back.
First off he's playing in a bottom 6 side where everything is being thrown at them so much like bottom 6 goalkeepers they're going to look good when they have a shedload of constant defending to do.
Secondly Aspas is having a blinder in Spain but looked awful here, point being sometimes its just not a good fit, I liked Sakho but clearly as the eds have pointed out there are problems with Klopp, its over, we're looking for a new girlfriend now and its time to move on lol!

Believable15 Unbelievable7

02 Apr 2017 14:50:10
At the end of the day, he caused problems so the decision is made, at least he's boosting his value.

02 Apr 2017 14:51:37
Correct! And we scout a GK from Sunderland lol. Majority of the players we are looking for summer are from championship or bottom teams.

02 Apr 2017 15:00:10
No point trying to make up excuses and deny that Sakho is an international class centre back. He is miles better than any other centre back we have at the club.

However, his attitude stinks and we are trying to build an effective team; a well oiled machine. Sakho doesn't fit into that model even if ability wise he walks into our team.

Point being, I don't want him back at LFC, but he looks good at Palace because he is a very good player. They have conceded once in four games since he made his debut and won 4 in a row. Impact.

02 Apr 2017 15:06:39
Ritchie, you also forgot to mention that under Big Sam, CP play s more defensive formation with at least 6 defensive players with fullbacks not bombing forward hence, the CB's are well protected. BTW, I'm a huge Sahko fan BUT his pathetic conduct has been embarrassing and disgraceful so he needs to go. Sahko is old news and ain't coming back so his "new-found" fans need to get over themselves, stop whining and move on.

02 Apr 2017 15:32:18
Doesn't he do this everywhere?
Settles down, shows his ability and then does something stupid to let everyone down.

Balloteli had some good games, he had great technical ability, but he had a flawed character and that's why his career has been a let down.

02 Apr 2017 17:07:17
At least his form should hope secure interest and a decent transfer fee. Just hope the money is invested wisely.

02 Apr 2017 10:33:57
Today I am fighting in a charity boxing match in aid of Cancer research. For the last 8 weeks I have been putting in the hours to get fighting fit.

hoping that some of my Liverpool family could spare any amount and make a donation. If you do please take my appreciation now as I'm going to be extremely busy until after the fight.

Hi fellow reds. Missed the derby so had to rely on highlights. Good news is I missed it because our second child (son this time) was being born. Another little red like his dad and sister.

Congratulations mate!

02 Apr 2017 11:22:54
Congrats mate, that's certainly a good excuse to miss the match. Is mother and baby OK?

02 Apr 2017 11:49:29
Are you going to call him "DAVE! "?
"Hello DAVE" 🤡

Congrats Popa 🤠.

02 Apr 2017 14:17:47
Thanks for all the comments guys. Mum and baby are great. Big sister is excited beyond belief.
I wasn't allowed Dave sadly Ron. I did suggest Divock Philippe Sadio but was overruled so we settled on Nathan.

02 Apr 2017 14:52:22
Congrats Popa ❤️.

02 Apr 2017 15:07:54
Congrats, my friend!

02 Apr 2017 15:10:54

Having a red baby is just sensational. All the best.

Hi all,

First post ever on here but an avid reader for years.

I live in Scotland and due to my dad being very unwell me and my son are heading south for a few days. I would love to be able to take him to his first ever Liverpool gamer against Bournemouth on wednesday.

Can anyone suggest a good way of getting tickets, I have seen the online sites selling tickets but I am very wary about using them as some of the reviews talk about having to hide identity and stuff.

Thanks in advance for any help.

02 Apr 2017 08:09:15
Hi eds. After that appalling tackle that broke Seamus Coleman's leg, what do you think of Koeman's decision to divert attention away from his team's efforts to break bones of players yesterday by blaming the Liverpool staff for complaining about the violence?
I know it's a leading question but quite frankly how else can you see it!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it was very poor on our part denzil, a debacle of epic proportions by everton from the management down, we got embroiled in the local rivalry thing and i make no excuses for them mate..

02 Apr 2017 08:36:45
I appreciate that reply Ed. Sometimes managers need to hold their hands up and admit they were wrong. Players also and that includes Liverpool also on many occasions.

{Ed025's Note - i wont defend them when they are wrong denzil, sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say you are wrong, and that is certainly the case yesterday mate..

02 Apr 2017 10:33:06
I don't watch Everton but is that how they normally play or does their manager just save that for us? Football back in the dark ages that. disgraceful.

02 Apr 2017 12:34:02
As a player, Koeman was a much feared, tough, strong, solid defender with a canon for a right foot. So it's not surprising that he has his team playing in a "take no prisoners" style. What is surprising though, is that he turns into a complete whining, sissy-assed victim in front of the media, when his plan doesn't work and he's on the losing end.

02 Apr 2017 15:08:41
If the Everton players and especially their hypocritical manager (who I watched and loved as a player) had as much honour, dignity and humility as Ed025, things would definitely get better in the modern game.

02 Apr 2017 07:59:25
Has anyone seen Eds25. Any chance of a match review from your point of view?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - match review....everton never turned up against a mediocre liverpool side, we decided to try and kick the crap out of the opposition rather than play football and it backfired big time, barkley, lukaku and gueye never actually came to the party and even though we had a few youngsters thrown in its no excuse for such an inept performance, even joel had his worst game and the less said about williams the better, europe seems a long way off and that could be a blessing as this side is simply not good enough at the moment and we need to recruit some top quality in the summer if we want to dine at the top table next season. but we move on and hope things improve acered..

02 Apr 2017 08:28:34
Thanks Ed25. I think when it comes to derby day Everton play the occasion and not the game.

{Ed025's Note - thats a fair assessment acered, if we played football against you then i think we would have a far better chance of a result which is the sad thing, ah well we move on and hopefully learn from it mate..

02 Apr 2017 09:07:16
Mediocre Liverpool side? Really Ed025? What does that make Neverton then? Merseyside's official pub team? EVen if your lot had turned up for the game, LFC would have hammered Everton regardless. Coutinho has more talent in his right foot than Everton's entire first team.

{Ed025's Note - mediocre is dead right im afraid IB, i have seen good liverpool sides over the years and one that includes players like mignolet, milner, can, clyne and lovren can only be described as that, yes everton were poor and we are no great shakes i admit, but if you think this is a good liverpool team then you need to get some 1980,s video,s out mate...or lay of the crack cocaine..

02 Apr 2017 09:25:19
Yes, but we also have players that are very highly rated and being tracked by some of the big clubs in Europe right now. Just because some players do not meet the grade does not make our team mediocre. Its still a decent side that will most likely finish in top4 in the world's most competitive league.
And I have no intention of watching any LFC games of the 1980s. Unlike a lot of LFc fans, I prefer to look towards the future than what the club was decades ago. Compared to most teams in the BPL, LFC are still a pretty formidable unit. Even the likes of Bayern, Real and Barcelona have their fair share of mediocre players in the squad.

{Ed025's Note - you do have some decent players IB, couts mane and lallana are excellent but im afraid the rest are very average..far be it from me to wake you up from this dream though mate as you sound like the typical fan who thinks their team are a lot better than they actually are..

02 Apr 2017 09:54:58
If mediocre can get us top4, then I'm ok withbthay for this year! Hoping.!

02 Apr 2017 10:22:57
Ouch! Mediocre? I wonder why you're known as the bitters? ;)

To be fair, I was a bit disappointed with Everton. I expected them to play that way but I kind of hoped they wouldn't. It is not the way i want to see the game played if I'm honest. Why can't we have a derby where two excellent football teams try and outplay each other?

Everton could've had at least 3 players sent off yesterday. Davies, Barkley and Williams definitely should've gone. It isn't getting the bad press because Mane jumped out the way but if his feet had been planted the force of that Davies scissor tackle could've broken both ankles!

He was so out of control he even caught Barkley on the follow through. Barkley was fortunate not to break Lovren's leg with that horror studs up and his late scissor tackle on Can really set the tone for the rest of the game when he walked away uncarded. Williams then stamped on Can and went in two footed deliberately catching Can right on top of the knee!

Disgusting tactics by a team who as Ed025 alluded to, currently don't deserve European football. Then you have trash like Keown and Shearer on Match of the Day justifying Koeman and his shocking behaviour by saying 'you get these tackles in a derby'. Yes and I'm sure you get low blows in a boxing match; still doesn't make them acceptable and the ref has bottled it yesterday.

Send Barkley off for that first tackle on Can and none of the other challenges happen. He let Everton play a brand of football that hasn't been seen in the top flight since the days of Tony Pulis' Stoke side! We were lucky to only lose Mane to injury to be honest.

I kind of feel as though Everton have come out yesterday looking for revenge on football after what happened to Seamus Coleman. Retrospective actions won't but really should be taken here.

02 Apr 2017 10:35:30
We are a mediocre side. didn't think I'd ever agree with a bitter but that side needs a lot of money spent in the summer. some of them just aren't good enough.

02 Apr 2017 10:41:47
I'm not having firmino is average, I'm sure you are a little upset about yesterday but you don't go unbeaten against the top 7 with 3 decent players.
It's like me pointing out when lukaku leaves in the summer you will have 1 decent player in Gana left.

02 Apr 2017 10:55:48
Den, he said mediocre players not decent. But C'mon ya'll so insecure?

Better things to focus on aye? Like mediocering our way to the top 4!?

Lets go!

02 Apr 2017 11:14:05
Abo, a team so mediocre they haven't lost to a side in the top 6! Get a grip. Yes we can improve ( notably keeper and a defender) - every team can but talent wise this team is easily top 4. Tactics and mindsets against 'lesser' teams is where our improvement is needed. Throwing a s*** load of money at the problem won't solve that. I heard people saying last week ' sell couts for 50 mil' and buy who? Who would come? How much would they cost? If couts were playing for Bayern they would be saying 'buy him for whatever it takes' . We have him and they'd rather sell him so we can throw the dice on a player unproven but with big potential.

02 Apr 2017 14:49:26
When did I call Phil mediocre? We are a mediocre side. didn't and the inconsistencies throughout our season prove that. we have some wonderful players in Phil, mane, firmino, lallana, but we have some iffy ones Clyne, lovren, mignolet, etc. we are doing Ok and I thank God we have klopp in charge, but that doesn't make us a great side.

yeah we have a good record against the top teams but a poor one against the rest. We can improve and we have to improve otherwise we will be left behind next season by the spenders. We are a mediocre side with some mediocre players.

02 Apr 2017 14:54:57
We do have some mediocre players as well some top class players. I can't even find one top player in Everton side.

02 Apr 2017 15:04:02
Sorry but I kind of agree with ed025 in a way but I think mediocre is a bit harsh. We may get top 4 but if we want to maintain that season after season and competing for the title then half of the team that played yesterday aren't good enough. Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Can, Milner is only a squad player, most if not all need replacing in the first eleven. Then you have Moreno, Klavan in the squad who need to go. Judgement is still out on Karius, Origi, Stewart and Ings.

Having followed LFC since the seventies I have to say it's one of the poorest LFC squads I have seen. Harsh considering yesterday's result and performance and the fact we're third but you only have to witness us without Mane to see how poor we are.

02 Apr 2017 15:09:21
I take exception to the Liverpool team being called mediocre. Are we a great team? No. Do we have issues?

All teams have them. Are we a very good team? Absolutely especially when we turn it on. We did not get to collect 26 out of 36 points from the top 7 teams in the PL by being mediocre and that is a fact. I agree we are inconsistent and not the finished article.

02 Apr 2017 21:32:10
Can has had a poor season. but I thought he was awesome yesterday. and in last 2-3 games started to look a lot better and a mile away from mediocre.
Migs. lovren. I'd agree
Milner is solid. just not a lb.

02 Apr 2017 22:09:56
Is this the same exact mediocre that the tops clubs in the premier league can't live with on match days. and that's not me saying Everton are a top team.

03 Apr 2017 14:22:45
The thing that I really can't understand about Everton was letting delefeou go. I remember watching him for the Barcelona youth teams and you could tell he was a cut above the rest in terms of ability. Always like watching him in the Prem and they ship him out on loan. He won Spain the game the other weekend.

It just something that i can't understand. Would happily have him at pool, Couts looked deadly against everton but would be interesting to see him in the centre again with runners either side.

{Ed001's Note - god no, he is a lazy get and won't try in training either. He is not good enough for our team anyway, not fit to lace Couts' boots.}

02 Apr 2017 06:08:01
So pending the Mane injury news, fingers crossed he won't be out for long but this could be a chance for one of Grujic or Woodburn to shine.

Will be interesting to see whether Klopp puts Grujic into midfield and moves Wijnaldum into attack or brings in Woodburn for Mane.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

02 Apr 2017 06:59:34
Or he could go with TAA in for Mane.

Whatever the plan, another must win on Wednesday night. If we can win all our remaining home games, top 4 will be ours.

02 Apr 2017 08:44:45
I would be pretty confident it will be origi that will come in.

02 Apr 2017 08:57:20
Yeah that is another option. We shall have to see.

02 Apr 2017 09:26:48
I would like to see a high press diamond, which Br used to great effect. Origi and Firmino up top with Couts in the hole. Gini, Can and Lucas/ Stewart can make the midfield trio.

02 Apr 2017 09:59:42
I am just thinking that Wijnaldum up top alongside Firmino and Coutinho could be the best option. He can score goals, has a decent amount of pace, good touch and will chase the ball for the whole 90 minutes. That will have to see Grujic alongside Can and Lucas.

Many have mentioned Stewart and not saying he is not worthy of a shot but with Lucas back in midfield, Stewart is not going to offer anything resembling a box to box midfielder so there were be absolutely no balance in our midfield. Unless Klopp goes with a midfield two then Lucas and Stewart could do a job together. Grujic is a box to box midfielder so he will most likely get in ahead of Stewart.

02 Apr 2017 10:20:33
Origi will replace Mane and I expect Klopp to field the same team till Henderson is back who will replace Lucas. There are only 8 games left and he wouldn't take any risk at this point.

02 Apr 2017 10:24:23
Yesterday when Mane went off we shifted formation slightly. Origi went up top through the middle with Coutinho and Firmino both dropping in behind as a kind of attacking midfield double act. I thought they dovetailed brilliantly considering it was a system literally just thrown together in the middle of a game.

I am gutted for Mane, but kind of excited for Origi to get a run in the team. Especially after how well he took his goal yesterday.

02 Apr 2017 13:48:09
I think it'll be Lucas, Can and Wijnaldum until Hendo comes back in for Lucas.

Upfront expect Origi upfront and Firmino on the right, Coutinho left until Mane back.

TAA, Woodburn, Grujic all subs and Sturridge if fit.

Klopp won't take risks integrating Grujic or playing Wijnaldum upfront into the end of year with top 4 in his sights.

Any news on Mane?

{Ed007's Note - From what Klopp's said he'll miss the midweek game against Bournemouth but hd wouldn't speculate further on it.}

A big shout-out to Lucas Leiva for his incredible performance. He's not glamorous enough for many "fans" on here but he's selflessly played when and where asked and done it without moaning. He came to us as an attacking midfielder and I don't think he's played in that position for our club. He's always involved in off-field activities and loves the club. He can't have expected to play in the derby but, when picked, helped to neutralize the threats of Lukaku and Berkeley and it's not the first time he's been invaluable to us.
To me, he deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Hamaan, Hyppia, Molby and Benitez as adopted Scousers.

Love the man, will be sad to see him leave as he still offers so much to our side when called upon.

Well said. Sickened me seeing the abuse he gets on social media sites when it was announced he was playing. How we always lose When he plays when its actually the exact opposite. We win more when he plays ( certainly in midfield) he doesn't have the dynamism of hendo but he has discipline, positioning and tenacity.

Lucas has been subject to abuse from fans on plenty of occasions. I remember him being booed when he was subbed on for Alonso once.

I have nothing but respect for Lucas.
