Wow. You look at the scoreline and think this was pure domination. Watching the game it didn't quite feel that way. Migs did his utmost to blow it (including trying for a red that was magically downplayed to a yellow) . Final score probably could have been Stoke 6 Liverpool 5. That said, I will take 3 - 0.

Believable3 Unbelievable13

29 Nov 2017 23:04:36
I agree totally, Coop. That was definitely not a 3-0 game. Migs was agin, awful today. I mean, what GK comes out that far and that late, makes a tackle outside his box and completely misses the ball and strikes the man. I think what helped him was that the ref may have thought that there were enough defenders there to cover for the goalscoring oppo. that was there. Go figure. Either way bar some VERY hairy moments, we got the job done and on we go to Brighton. I must say that the whole back line were awesome today esp. with Can offering no cover nor help to Wiji to sheild them.

29 Nov 2017 23:08:39
How do you think Stoke should have scored 6 when they only had 1 shot on target the whole game?

29 Nov 2017 23:10:13
Stoke City had only one shot on target. Fair enough we rode our luck but Stoke were never going to score three.

29 Nov 2017 23:38:18
Yeh we was lucky about the sending off.
But we wasn't lucky last weekend when Chelsea scored from a terrible misplaced Cross that landed in top corner.

29 Nov 2017 23:46:29
Stoke had 3 good chances and couldn't score. We had 6 great chances and took 3 of them.

It's getting very boring listening to the babies lately. Even when we win they moan we were lucky.

Almost as if they want Klopp and co to fail.

30 Nov 2017 01:30:14
I also don't get how anyone could have thought they should have one. Yes they had a few chances but we also could have score more considering manes shot hitting the bar and Solanke open shot to the keeper.

But migs. dear lord he is Mr. Mistake week in and out. Please Klopp. drop him.

30 Nov 2017 05:28:39
Why would stoke needed to score 3. One goal could have changed the whole complexion of the match. Our front 3 could be the best in the league while our back 5 and midfiled are worst in the league!

30 Nov 2017 06:27:27
It’s quite impressive that we can win games with only 3 players Harry. If our defence was the worst in the league wouldn’t we have conceded the most goals in the league?

30 Nov 2017 08:00:28
Tbh if Stoke had taken one of their chances, the floodgates would have opened at the back. None of our defenders can cope with pressure and an uninterested Can was not doing his part in helping them out.

{Ed001's Note - oh don't talk crap. You can't say that, it is a guess from a whiner wanting us to fail! This is embarrassing the whole thread. I sometimes wonder if you want the team to lose so you can say you were right. I think you lot need to get your eyes tested, Liverpool had the best chances in the game, the ones they didn't take I mean, not the ones they did take. No idea what kind of blinkers you have to wear to think it should have been 6-5 to Stoke, but they must be bloody thick.}

30 Nov 2017 08:34:18
We have conceded 2 goals in the last 5 EPL games (3 clean sheets) . If that was another team, we would be hailing them. But it's LFC so of course, the moaners brigade (who seem to only thrive regardless of the result) will still have something to whine about on here.

30 Nov 2017 08:57:06
Who said I want us to lose? But did u see how easily Allen found his way into the box unmarked to take open shots at the goal? Why was no midfielder tracking his runs? We have seen our team fall apart a bit too often in the last few seasons and I want personnel who deal with such situations better such as better leaders and more defensive minded players.
And by flood gates, I meant maybe giving us a run for the money, not scoring 6 goals against us. Must have been someone else who said that.

{Ed001's Note - seriously, you are just backtracking now. I give up. You said floodgates but that only means giving us a run for our money? Come on, that is not even remotely what it means. At least have the balls to stand by what you said or admit you got it wrong rather than try and claim you meant something completely different from what you said.}

30 Nov 2017 09:03:51
Ed001 - yes, of course they do. Hence their disappearing act when we win convincingly. They also love to talk about how awful people are compared to other teams whilst seemingly having the vaguest clue about what other teams are doing and how their players are performing. A lot of people are just happier being miserable.

{Ed001's Note - it is bizarre mate. It is understandable when the team loses, even if over the top, but when we won I just do not get it.}

29 Nov 2017 22:21:36
I was mad that Salah was benched and my fantasy team was hurting too, nah man Salah got my back even off the bench! Big ups!

Believable13 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 23:06:14
I already had a feeling that Salah may not start BUT good to know that we still offer a real threat even when our leading scorer (and the leading scorer in the PL, period) does not start. Spurs, Utd and Arsenal cannot say the same.

30 Nov 2017 00:28:07
First time that I have been happy with our subs coming on, and the time that they came on,
Salah is the big difference .

29 Nov 2017 22:21:02
What an absolute gem we have on our hands at our football club. Never mind building a statue for coutinho build king mo a castle!

Believable9 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 22:28:34
Ha, King of the Castle .

29 Nov 2017 22:36:05
Build the lad a massive Sphinx replaced with Mo’s Face.

29 Nov 2017 22:38:10
Convert Anfield into a pyramid.

29 Nov 2017 22:56:08
that first touch for his second goal reminded me of torres when he did the same thing against vidic.

29 Nov 2017 23:06:52
The Pharaoh of Anfieled.

29 Nov 2017 23:40:10
There's a little guy for Barcelona that people are calling the Argentinian Salah.

30 Nov 2017 08:35:11
I saw that on SM too, Fowler. He is the Egyptian Salah.

30 Nov 2017 09:05:30
I actually felt sorry for Pieters with that goal. He was so confused he literally ran off in the wrong direction thinking he had dinked it away. That was the face of a man who genuinely didn't have a clue what was happening to him.

29 Nov 2017 22:17:12
How many could Stoke have scored?
Just asking is all - not being a dampenar!
Iffy stream an all.

Believable2 Unbelievable11

29 Nov 2017 22:30:02
Clean sheet. Well done reds.

29 Nov 2017 22:30:11
Laddie, it could have been 6 3, ,
but it wasnt, 3 great points for the mighty Reds .

29 Nov 2017 22:37:12
As far as I can recall they had one decent chance that Allen put over the bar and a couple of other half chances that were either blocked or missed. Stoke only had 1 shot on target.

29 Nov 2017 23:08:06
They could have prolly scored 2 while we could have prolly scored 6 so either way, we win at a canter. Now had the red card been given, that may have changed a lot of things.

29 Nov 2017 22:11:38
Salah was getting so much abuse on here at the start of the season about not being able to finish and needing loads of chances to score.

Ed001 in particular as well as other posters kept saying "when it clicks for him he'll be flying"

Well here we are, as far as I'm concerned he's our most important player at the moment and the league's form player.

Long may it continue!

Believable8 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 22:17:23
Europe's form player I say. Who's better than him throughout Europe?

29 Nov 2017 22:59:01
suarezs finishing was questionalable at first too. Its just something that needs fine tuning again when you move to a new league/ change teams.

29 Nov 2017 23:10:23
I was not worried when Salah was not scoring as many as the fact that he was getting chances was the most important thing and things would get better w/ time. Now did I think he would be this good? Absolutely not. He is actually much better than many of us thought when he first signed. Credit to him and to Klopp for getting the best out of him cos he makes that front 3 much better than they were last season and they were already awesome.

{Ed0333's Note - To be fair mate I don’t think anyone could have predicted Salah would be such a revelation and hit the ground running this quickly. But can he do it on a freezing cold Wednesday night in the potteries...Oh wait.

29 Nov 2017 22:59:53
I can remember Ed2 saying he’s a strange choice when we signed him. Not too strange now is he? Long may it continue!

{Ed002's Note - Can you give me a link to that message please.}

30 Nov 2017 09:07:32
At the time, he was wasting absolutely golden chances and it was costing us points. People were right to be concerned with a player who was dominating the areas that goals tend to come from, but struggling to actually hit the target.

Thankfully, he has answered the concern exceptionally well and everyone is happy. Doesn't invalidate the concern at the time.

29 Nov 2017 21:52:37
Great win and clean sheet😀😀😀.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 22:06:58
kept us in the race for top four .

29 Nov 2017 23:00:32
Top 4? With a good January we can look higher than that.

29 Nov 2017 23:11:23
Today was THE worst day for us to be dropping points as bar Spurs, everyone else (including Burnley) won so I am more happy that we won for this reason alone.

29 Nov 2017 21:34:14
He can't stop scoring.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 22:07:30
Ha, such a bad habit .

29 Nov 2017 23:11:49
He should never give up that habit.

29 Nov 2017 19:34:48
Them everton fans talkin about stayin up!

not even christmas lol.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 20:20:05
Feel sorry for them.

Poor decisions made by club management leave you facing Fat Sam football for the rest of the season
Nailed on, unfortunately, that they will be all over set-pieces so will beat us 😡.

29 Nov 2017 21:02:55
just checked and Everton are 2 goals up, not bad for a team that we are putting down way too much,
we don't want them getting a result at Anfield soon,
were one up, and Migs should have gone,
and we need another goal, cos if they score, this game could go either way,
of course, we are missing our best player Salah .

29 Nov 2017 21:52:29
4-0 Everton. Still it's funny because Gollum is West Ham manager.

29 Nov 2017 21:57:17
Everton fans will be partying like it’s 1995 tonight.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m made up for Unsworth that he goes out on a high.

29 Nov 2017 22:09:31
yes, but we want to see Everton beating some of the big teams, just not us .

29 Nov 2017 23:15:05
Good luck with that, Happy. They only show up for two games every season cos that is their CL final. Remember how they allegedly tanked the game vs City in 13/ 14 so we would not win the PL? Yeah, thy actually cheered each time City scored. Their fans are that small. In 1995, we could have taken it easy and let Blackburn beat us to stop Utd from winning BUT we did not. We beat Blackburn cos that is what you do if you are a big club. You respect the game. Can't say the same for Everton.

30 Nov 2017 00:33:32
great post BRover, they do have history, and they have a habit of being let's say a bit clumsy when they play us .

29 Nov 2017 19:09:14
Solanke starts! Let’s hope he seizes the opportunity!

Believable7 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 19:23:30
Strange how some fans say that Firminho has to start as striker as only his runs create space for Mane and Salah (our inside forwards) and then Klopp goes and starts Firminho at inside forward with a natural striker with another winger/ inside forward in central midfield. It's as if Klopp also disagrees with them to a certain extent 🤔.

29 Nov 2017 19:29:19
Could possibly be a 4 4 2
OX AND Mane on the wings and Firmino and Solanke up top.

29 Nov 2017 23:17:03
Jayden, Klopp played a 4-4-2. Klopp did not do anything new as he played the same system at WH where we won 4-1. The preferred system is what it is and nothing has changed bar a tweak here or there, and such tweaks prove nothing.

29 Nov 2017 19:08:51
Interesting 11 and bench!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

29 Nov 2017 19:06:49
Great to see Solanke and AOC starting tonight!

Maybe 4-4-2 again?

Goal for Solanke tonight!

great to be able to rotate, and still win 3 0,

29 Nov 2017 17:33:55
Anyone know any decent streams to watch the game on tonight?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 17:56:42
Drakulastream is pretty reliable!

29 Nov 2017 18:08:51
Ronaldo7 I hear 🤔😎😉.

29 Nov 2017 18:11:30
Ronaldo7 is decent been using it for five years now haha.

29 Nov 2017 18:16:46
Download the Sportsdonkey app mate. Shows Everygame. £50 a year.

29 Nov 2017 19:29:37
I use streamhunter it’s normally pretty decent.

{Ed025's Note - firstrow sports is decent as well..

29 Nov 2017 19:31:03
Thanks all.

29 Nov 2017 16:40:17
For those that haven't caught it Klopp has stated Can is in tonight's squad after injury kept him out last game and Dejan has some swelling that will be assessed but will likely be available.

YNWA.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 15:18:52
Ed01, with regard the Ward thread on the Rumours page, some of the guys said he wasn’t injured and did indeed play for Wales which you said was a surprise to you. Did you happen to check deeper to see where the problem lies that he can’t get into the squad at all seeing as he’s not injured.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - apparently his return to fitness was just not mentioned as it was during the international duty. That is what I was told. It was inferred that with him not being in the first team squad there was no need to inform anyone he was back. I have asked a couple of other people and they do say he is very unhappy at being out of the team and not getting games but they also say it was a genuine injury.}

29 Nov 2017 17:09:53
Thanks mate much appreciated. Guy really needs a loan in Jan or move on as he’s wasting his career at the moment.

{Ed001's Note - agreed.}

29 Nov 2017 14:36:05
Ed 01, today's rumor is Hegazi to Lfc. Is there any truth? what's your opinion about him? I haven't seen much of him!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I have already answered the rumour bit, as to my opinion, he is not suited to us. Big, strong, decent enough on the ball and very good in the air but slow and milk turns quicker. When left one on one with a player, which he would be with us, he can't cope.}

29 Nov 2017 10:13:13
Hi all, my 3 tickets for Brighton Liverpool this weekend have fallen through. Does anyone have or know anybody who has any spares going please? Been looking forward to this for weeks. Sorry if this shouldn't be posted here. Thanks.

29 Nov 2017 11:10:24
Theres a Facebook page called "Liverpool Tickets buy/ sell" that sometimes has a winner.

29 Nov 2017 11:21:15
I envy you, Rik. Have a great time and hopefully, we can celebrate a win.

29 Nov 2017 11:47:27
Thanks I'll have a look.

29 Nov 2017 13:44:00
I think I've got some. Thanks for your replies. Hopefully I've not been scammed!

29 Nov 2017 08:35:08
Good morning Reds and Eds.

Just wanted to know if anyone has still been keeping an eye on Naby this season? Is he still appearing to be trying too hard? Has his discipline calmed (after the 2 or 3 red cards he got earlier in the season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Nov 2017 08:53:49
He has been playing well lately and scored a goal last weekend.

29 Nov 2017 09:09:04
Thought to be doing alright and scoring the odd goal here and there. I bet he's just itching to get to Anfield thou.

29 Nov 2017 09:16:19
I only watched his last 2 league games, against Leverkusen he was fairly subdued and not especially effective but it wasnt a great game for the whole team. He did well not to get carded with plenty of openings for rash tackles and fouls. Against Bremen he was the deserved man of the match and absolutely overwhelmed their midfield single handed, not to mention a great goal. I also understand he was man of the match in their last CL game but i think it clashed with ours so didn't watch.

29 Nov 2017 09:16:30
I am looking forward to see what his role would be at Liverpool. It would be a shame if he is deployed as a Holding Mid.

29 Nov 2017 11:24:29
It would be stupid to play him in the DM position as he is not not one. I think Diego Demme plays the DM position at RBL with Naby ahead of him and Forsberg (who I love as a player) in the playmaker position. I too think Naby is just itching to get here hence, some of the trouble he got into with red cards and stuff but he should just take the season one game at a time and sure enough, he'll be here and he will be a huge asset in midfield for us.

29 Nov 2017 12:05:45
Thanks for the replies guys. Can't wait till he gets here!

Ed01, alright mate, just to change the subject and sorry for posting here. what's your thoughts on Marco Van Basten, for me the most complete centre forward i've ever seen.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he is certainly one of the best ever, it is a shame his career ended early as he was a wonderful player. Sadly most of his career was while I was a kid, so too young to appreciate him and there was very little coverage on TV to watch him and realise just how good he was. His technique was incredible and he could score goals that seemed impossible. When you think back on it, to compare him with someone playing now, it is like someone had Harry Kane on FIFA and upgraded all his stats. He just seems like he was better and all the Dutch strikers that came after are in his shadow.}

29 Nov 2017 07:41:31
Ed01, I watched Van Basten play at the Euros and during his Serie A days IMO at the time, he was my idol as a teenager growing up and he was breath-taking. Many believe he was/ is simply the best CF to ever play the game esp. in his prime at Milan and with the Dutch team. Considered as the best youth product to ever come out of the famed Ajax academy since a certain Johan Cruyff (third was Dennis Bergkamp), Van Basten due to his ability as a ballet dancer during his childhood, is the most elegant striker to ever play the game. He made the hardest things look so easy.

As you say ed, his technique and awareness on the pitch, was unreal. Marco could drop deep and play the no. 10 role and his ability to assist was near on par with his ability to score goals. Injury took him from us in his late 20's and it took Milan a LONG time to find his replacement until another legend, a certain George Oppong Weah, arrived at Milan and Adriano Galliani could finally rest easy. Marco was my best CF ever UNTIL a certain buck-toothed Phenomenon/ Extra-Terrestrial named Ronaldo, appeared.

{Ed001's Note - not Pele then?}

29 Nov 2017 08:54:41
Never thought Bingo is older than Ed01 ☺️.

{Ed001's Note - you are older than me Harry!}

29 Nov 2017 09:07:36
Which I won’t deny Ed01. You are the youngest around here. Aren’t you? Closely followed by Ed025 ☺️☺️☺️.

{Ed001's Note - not that closely, just the 50 years between us!}

29 Nov 2017 09:19:03
That goal against Russia and one of the best if not best keepers at the time.

29 Nov 2017 11:27:24
Ed01 for me, Pele is the best player and the most complete footballer ever. He's not the best CF, IMO tho. I used the phenomenon/ extra-terrestrial name for Ronaldo as that was what he was called by the media, team mates and opponents at the time as he seemed out of this world and to some extent, he was.

{Ed001's Note - but Pele was a CF though.}

29 Nov 2017 12:38:42
Interesting to listen to Ray Wilkins when AC Milan told him he had to leave as they were signing his replacement.

Marco Van Basten. Wilkins says I just told them I'd pack my bags.

29 Nov 2017 12:48:39
Cheers ed01 really appreciate u taking the time to respond. For me he had it all pace, power, finess, touch etc etc shame his career ended at 29. Keep up the great work mate.

{Ed001's Note - I literally could not think of a weakness in his game, other than the early retirement. Unless he was poor in the air, I can't remember what he was like with his head at all.}

29 Nov 2017 14:19:15
He was good in the air.
Never thought of MvB as having great pace though.

{Ed001's Note - it is acceleration that is more important for a finisher than outright pace and I seem to remember him having that. By the way I have watched a fair bit of that Leeds defender you wanted a profile on, should get it done in the next week or so but he reminds me a lot of Lovren I must say.}

29 Nov 2017 14:34:48
One of the best headers of the ball, Ed. Marco was unbelievable simply put and I am glad that I saw him play for a while before his injuries. A true legend of the game.

29 Nov 2017 18:27:03
Thanks Ed.

My memory is never a good yardstick but I remember MvB as being a perfect technician. That included his movement, positioning and awareness. He didn't really need pace, he was always one step ahead of the game.

{Ed001's Note - at your age you have to expect the faculties to go.}
