Great to hear Flanno came through a half hour for the u21's. Wish only the best for this lad.

Believable16 Unbelievable0

30 Dec 2015 00:25:40
I'm so happy for him. I feared he was lost to us and to football in general. Slow and steady and he'll be back.

30 Dec 2015 09:01:50
Same for Sturridge readers and posters. Give the lad time and he'll fully recover.

30 Dec 2015 14:27:11
How anyone can disagree with any of the above is beyond me.

29 Dec 2015 23:10:17
Eds any truth in we have interest in Ben Chilwell the U20 left back from Leicester please?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Search.}

29 Dec 2015 18:50:44
Evening Ed002

Still expect the Grujic deal to go through in January? Gone bit quite that's all.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed - it can't be "loud" as the transfer window is shut. You really need to stop asking DF questions.}

29 Dec 2015 20:26:22
Edd001 do you reckon mate we would have won the title under rafa when he had that famous media outburst about Fergie etc? That was the first in many many years I thought we had a team capable of challenging on all fronts.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - we could have done if he had taken the shackles off before it was too late. Rafa was always too defensive and far too busy meddling in off field affairs.}

30 Dec 2015 00:27:09
It was those shackles that led us to drawing ELEVEN games that season whic cost us the PL than anything else.

30 Dec 2015 07:11:13
It didn't help leaving Keane on the bench and playing ngog.

30 Dec 2015 11:12:04
Yeah, it really does go to show how "settling for the point" can be more detrimental than going for the victory and ultimately losing the match.

30 Dec 2015 11:52:54
He sold Robbie Keane back to Spurs, he wasn't left on the bench.

30 Dec 2015 13:27:34
He shouldn't have sold Keane, he would've scored at least another 5-10 goals that we needed to turn those draws into wins. Have always felt that was a mistake. That bullshit backroom wrangling led us down a slippery slope to losing our Champions League pedigree.

29 Dec 2015 18:31:34
Hi all,
anybody know more about this lad Daniel Armartey?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Dec 2015 19:24:13
Hes suppose to be joining a French team Marseille i believe.

29 Dec 2015 23:13:40
Was linked a while ago, either recycled or rekindled.

If we are interested then grujic might not be going through.

29 Dec 2015 18:01:14
All of a sudden the Stoke semi final doesent look like the easier route into the final some people assumed when the draw was made!

Believable14 Unbelievable2

29 Dec 2015 19:00:30
Forget about them, I am more concerned about which Liverpool will turn up, and they will be too.

29 Dec 2015 19:03:48
Still rather it than city or Everton!

29 Dec 2015 19:39:27
Regardless need to beat 2 of the 3 to win so doesn't matter really.

29 Dec 2015 23:20:14
What would you rather have? Lose the semi or the final? (not being negative and saying we will, just curious, I'd prefer to lose a semi)

30 Dec 2015 00:30:15
I'd prefer to win the game in front of me than anything else. As for Stoke being easy, no semis nor finals are easy. Ask those who played vs Carfdiff in 2012 if the game was easy. To be the best, we have to beat everyone in front of us.

30 Dec 2015 11:05:40
If I had to choose I'd rather lose a final to a semi's. Anytime I've played on teams beaten in the semi's it felt a lot worse than losing a final. Then from a supporters point of view it gives you an extra match to get excited about and for some a day trip to Wembley. Regarding drawing Stoke in the semi's I would've prefered to get City or Everton, purely because we would get to play them twice, I much prefer watching us against them. Then again it does give an excellent final if we do beat Stoke over 2 legs.

30 Dec 2015 14:44:22
There are no easy games at the professional level now.
We'll finish this tie at the Britannia IMO.

30 Dec 2015 14:47:06
OMG, stoke has Maradona of Alps and Messi of Croatia as well as a astronaut striker. Awesome team.

29 Dec 2015 17:48:02
Whats the latest with Jerome Sinclair as we have offered him a deal but for some reason he's not signed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He is turning in to a complete flake.}

29 Dec 2015 18:16:08
He will flutter down the leagues. Hasn't progressed last couple of years.

29 Dec 2015 18:25:46
Reports of him heading to Man city.

29 Dec 2015 19:16:56
Flake:;-Definition.

Diva, big head, greedy arse, egotistical little fart.

29 Dec 2015 19:46:44
Lol Davey! I was about to Google what it meant! Many thanks mate! Hahaha.

29 Dec 2015 19:14:01
Wrong head. Looks a good talent. With any player it is all about attitude with finding the next level, skill also but if you haven't got that desire in you it doesn't matter how skilled you might be. Look at canos, a young boy from a foreign country, gone out on loan and smashing it. put himself in the reckoning at least, but Jerome was too good for a loan and wanted for team assurances before he signed any new deal lol

29 Dec 2015 19:51:45
Flake:definition
Crumbly milky chocolate.

29 Dec 2015 17:50:42
We should get him a username on here then ed002.

{Ed002's Note - The bottom line is that he is at one of the world's great clubs and should be fighting for an opportunity and not simply looking for a new agent who uses his "success" with Sterling to sell the future to the kid. From my perspective it substantiates the claim by de Visser that kids that age should not be allowed agents. I don't know where it will end up; I do know that in years to come he will likely regret his naivety. I find it a sad indictment on the modern game.}

29 Dec 2015 21:59:59
I was only joshing about the username Ed002 but I must say I read your reply with interest.

I'd say you are absolutely spot on there. 🙂.

29 Dec 2015 22:01:51
Well said, Ed.

29 Dec 2015 22:46:34
Fantastic response and summary from ed002.

29 Dec 2015 23:10:21
If it's true that he has abit of an up his own Arsenal attitude then I'd get shot of him. Pity because I think he has a great chance of being in the first team squad if he keeps his head down, trains hard.

30 Dec 2015 01:27:26
More importantly, are Liverpool any closer to getting Rossiter signed up?

30 Dec 2015 10:59:57
Sinclair hasn't fulfilled his early promise. It didn't help that he didn't even get chances last year to play from BR. There's little point fighting over him now that we currently have several players in his position at the club any way. Let him go, see if we can get anything for him. I don't think he will ever reach the heights of Sturridge, or Benteke, when watching u21 for the last 2 seasons I haven't been impressed with his attitude or work rate in the final 3rd.

30 Dec 2015 11:46:57
Did he not get any chances bob? Just to be petty but I'm sure he played some part!

30 Dec 2015 14:33:00
2 appearances both as substitute in the dying minutes of games, whilst we shoe horned sterling in at forward, and persisted with Balotelli and Lambert. He should have got his chances then, but never did.

I'm not sure, but I know he hurt himself.

where are the live chats held?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - the link is at the top of the page mate, but it is basically the url of the site with /live added on the end.}

29 Dec 2015 14:27:01
Hi Ed's

How abt David Ospina?

Why can't we put a decent bid in.
He is 27 and very good upgeade on what we have now.

Cheers.

Believable1 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has shown no interest in him.}

29 Dec 2015 19:05:11
So you not remember when they rested cech for one game and every arsenal fan broke down about how bad he was, think it was a champions league game.

{Ed001's Note - hmmm you seem to have conveniently forgotten how those same Arsenal fans were split on whether Cech even needed to be bought in the first place, due to Ospina's quality being there. He is not in the same class as Cech, but he is far above Migs.}

29 Dec 2015 21:17:40
Absolutely spot on Ed.
Ospina was terrific for us last season, hardly put a foot wrong.
But, what club wouldn't snap up Cech if he was available?

{Ed001's Note - exactly, Cech is special but that does not mean Ospina is not a good keeper too.}

29 Dec 2015 13:08:05
Hey eds, I just read somewhere that we can recall ward from loan in January! is it true?
If yes then do we have any plans for the same?
Cheers nd hope u have a wonderful year.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is an option but it won't be invoked - it won't do the kid any good at all sitting at Anfield not playing.}

29 Dec 2015 14:30:42
Yep leave him be.

29 Dec 2015 14:16:12
believe he is doing really well in Scotland Ed002 has agreed this as well, so there is no point in bringing him back. if he keeps up his performances tho it will be interesting to see what happens with him next season.

Question to Ed002 is Fulton any good as I've not seen anything of him except for on the bench against Watford.

29 Dec 2015 14:51:37
Yeah, given all the glowing reports of his progress, he is one player i am really excited by the idea of. A quality keeper coming from our youth system. in fact i've not been this excited by a young prospect since i saw a young 15/ 16 year old Sterling turning out for our youth teams!

{Ed001's Note - I guess you must mean Ward? Only Fulton is just a kid and I have not seen a lot of him but he is not seen as the prospect Ward is according to the people I have spoken to. Whereas Ward is extremely highly rated.}

29 Dec 2015 16:06:36
can we see him pushing for a place in the nest season or two Ed001 or is it to soon for him? maybe a loan to a English team next season would be best?

{Ed001's Note - Ward? The plan was to evaluate him in the summer, I see no reason to believe that has changed. Personally I would expect the club to pursue a loan to a higher level club that will play him regularly. One in a better quality league than the SPFL.}

29 Dec 2015 16:58:08
So we would be looking at Championship or Premier league then ed?

{Ed001's Note - there are more leagues in the world than the English ones.}

29 Dec 2015 18:30:00
So the older keepers we are linked too make more sense then.

Get a keeper for a few seasons then all being well ward will step up.

29 Dec 2015 11:05:28
{Ed's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, Cellino Bans Sky, Sunderland Desperate For Defenders And Eight Other Stories

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Dec 2015 19:20:01
Ed001, yes, indeed i meant Ward!

29 Dec 2015 08:31:21
Hi all, I was at the Brentford game yesterday, and was lucky enough to be right in front of the Canos goal., he came on halfway through the second half and changed the game. and what a goal! We have a real talent on our hands here. Cheers.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

29 Dec 2015 14:52:33
Excited!

29 Dec 2015 17:27:33
Lord knows why I have two disagrees on that post. have you seen the goal?

29 Dec 2015 19:32:58
yeah I saw it wasnt even in top 20 this season.

30 Dec 2015 00:35:12
Ignore the idiot above!

For an 18 year old, to control like he did, and show two-footedness with a right foot control, right foot chip past the next defender and a left foot finish into the corner, is pretty special.

Maybe that level of skill and composure is commonplace in teenagers on negativeredwaiter's planet, but to most people on planet earth, that's rather encouraging.

29 Dec 2015 06:56:53
One for the Eds re: culture and tactics. When watching teams who are doing more with less some players slot in and look fantastic. Stoke can play some exciting stuff and then there are the leicesters of the world, where Liverpool players look really out of sorts normally.
Is it players coming to Liverpool with big price tags causing psychological issues, the shirt dragging them down, or is it the lack of gelling with all the players bought so we are always changing the jigsaw instead of adding final pieces?
Just wondering why we keep looking mid table with no creativity and scrappy wins?
Or is there a mental challenge where teams step up to play Liverpool?
I just think the squad although unbalanced should be putting in more consistent displays.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - it is never one thing mate, it is always a combination of them all. That is why it will take so long to fix, though you will never be able to stop the opposition from raising their game against us, you can improve in other areas so it becomes less of an issue.}

29 Dec 2015 11:00:31
Its also playing for a top team requites those extra 5 goals a season and the past players we have had set such standards. Who at stoke do bojan and shaqiri have to compete against in the fans recent memeoru (ie he's nit as good a as so and so) also there is the fact that these players stop being MOTD players and you actually start watching wwhat they contribute over 90 mins, how many times have shaqiri and bojan had stinkers this season, we don't see it because we don't watch every game. We only see the good games out of them.

29 Dec 2015 13:34:17
Bojan may have been invisible for some games, but he's really helped them, when they click they do it well, all their attackers are pacey and work well together, how many of our attackers haven't had 'stinkers. ' He turns up as much as most of ours.

29 Dec 2015 15:20:35
Why so many disagree with paulo. don't normally agree with what he says but he makes an okay point. And yea i fail to see what shakiri offers . so far anyway.

29 Dec 2015 17:48:21
And yea i fail to see what shakiri offers
========================

2 goals yesterday which won them 3/ 4 so in effect 3 points .
I watched them few times and he "Shaqiri" have been more than decent, he is no Aguero or Silva, but he has been useful for them.

29 Dec 2015 18:26:01
I have always been buffled y liverpool stop their pursuit of shaqiri.

{Ed001's Note - because he has major attitude problems. He always plays well for a few games then struts about offering nothing for months.}

29 Dec 2015 03:44:39
please no botch up against sunderland. please please please.
and then against west ham.
we will beat arsenal that i am pretty sure of :)

Believable10 Unbelievable3

29 Dec 2015 12:05:31
We have followed up good win with poor results under Klopp so far. Hopping we have learned our lessons now and we beat Sunderland. They cannot defend at all so hopefully we have got too much for them.

If we score a load we can go above the Man United.

29 Dec 2015 00:08:46
Floating about on Facebook today, supposedly an interview with Dennis Law yesterday, love it
Question. Would your UTD team beat the current one
Dennis. Yes 1 nil I think.
Interviewer. Only 1 nil, why so close.
Dennis. Well we are all in our 70s now.

Believable17 Unbelievable0

29 Dec 2015 01:02:34
Brilliant ! And the most interesting fact in all of their turmoil.

Back in the 70's and 80's they craved success over the the Scousers ( AJH United page) and guess what the route to their success has once again caught up with them.

June 1991.

29 Dec 2015 13:35:26
That's a george best quote originally, said the same thing a few years back, with the punchline being something like 'yeah but we're all getting on a bit'
