Hello Eds and liverpool followers....

Firstly, congratulations on this wonderful site, everytime im short of something to do i always come straight on here to look for macca and find some of the rubbish put on by fans in dream world very funny indeed.

Not so much a rumour but id appreciate you posting this on the rumours page...

Every year or every transfer window we all seem to think we could possibly have the squad to compete for a champions league spot and when we dont its always a massive disapointment...i just think we need to accept that there are 6 or 7 teams that are now capable of qualifying instead of what were the obvious 4 a few years back. Even though i think our squad is capable of making the top 4, i do feel like that 4th place is the absolute best we could achieve which is a shame. I dont think were becoming a worse team, i just think other teams are improving more than we are thats the problem, but thats what makes the premier league great! So frustrating seeing teams like APOEL or Basle qualifying each year when we know we could beat these teams, its just down to the great strength of our premier league.

Anyway the main reason i was posting on here was because i was just interested to hear your opinion on what you genuinely think we need to change in our squad in order for us to provide a solid champions league qualifaction spot charge? Sorry if this has been asked alot before...hope you can answer! I seriously dont think were that far off a really good squad now, just a massive failure to put away chances which has been the key to a bad league campaign this year, which is also frustrating when we all know how well our strikers can finish as well as luis did yesterday! I think maxi should be given more chances even though hes a likely departure in summer! Anyway, thanks for your time! YNWA

LiamBrid

To be perfectly honest I don't think there's much difference between a Champions League team and a Championship winning team these days. If we aim for the one, there's no reason not to aim for the other, all that matters is belief. United's squad are man for man not that great but the belief they have makes up for quality...Chelsea won the league with pretty much the same squad only two seasons back...we're probably 3 instant first teamers (CAM, ST, RW) away from competing at that level
NextGenRed

Right sided attacking player who can cross, a forward who's not afraid to attack in the box, creative playmaker and right back ilo Johnson.

And a little bit more luck.

Sir Masher

Someone who doesn't hit the woodwork and puts it in the back of the net.

gee man

''I just think we need to accept'',f**ck that attitude! What we need to accept is that the only acceptable situation is title challenging year in year out.Whatever needs to be done in order to achieve that situation must be done. The first step is to find the right people on and off the pitch,if that costs then it costs,if the owners wont pay we'll need new owners,if the manager consistently proves himself incapable he goes, likewise with the players. We are still a massive club,up there with Europe's elite, just had a few ropey seasons that's all.The Rafa glory days were comparatively recent events, hopefully we can stop the rot soon, roll on Saturday!! B

Jackson Martinez, Gaston Ramirez, Markel Susaeta and Rasmus Elm would do the trick.
Kev7

Rafa glory days? You mention winning the league which Rafa couldnt do. He had 1 glory day in 2005.

I've never seen gaston Ramirez play but every1 here wants him? What's he like? I've read the player-profiles but that's just 1 man's opinion. Any thoughts fellow reds?

Oh and maybe a little controversial here but why do people want Jordan Rhodes? Adel taraabt manged around 20 goals last year playing deeper in a better league and he's scored 2 goals in the prem. Many many more players are prolific in lower leagues but don't translate into prem. any1 think Kevin Phillips would be a good signing now? Yet he's banging em in for blackpool!

Hi Eds,
I'm not going to say that i got this from someone who knows the club more than i,etc...
I use to practice deep researches about what's happening.[summer plans]. And i realized this:
-They are going to be a busy summer.[5 or more players].
-Carroll will be leaving as K.D has given up on the England forward.
-Also Kenny will stay as the manage...

Eden Hazard asked if he will stay in France next season:"I want to play in England and that's what I've decided to."

West London or East Manchester ?

.............and........?

North London actually.

With the bunch of games in a short space of time and one being a cup final I would expect against fullham we see some of the frindge players getting a game it would also be a nice opportunity to give suso and sterling a cameo from the bench but I still doubt we will see them

Well maybe we can all rest assured that our English Liverpool players can all have a good rest this Summer now eh ?

Was really looking forward to the Euros with a mild degree of optimism until the news of the FA approaching RH today. Sorry, the bloke is a complete incompetent and will almost certainly be crowned Turnip II after we crash out after the group stage. Never have faith in the ability of anyone AF regards as a friend as he knows Roy will never be a threat.

He has only an ugly form of anti-football in his tactical locker and will absolutely guarantee no success for England in the summer. It'll probably take a failed World Cup qualifying campaign for the dicks at the FA to realize what they've done. Similar pattern of events to Turnip I?

Thanks for nothing FA.

In 1966, when Liverpool played Celtic in the European Cup Winners Cup, Celtic adopted the anthem after hearing us sing it during the game.

Actually I think that the Celtic fans adopted "I'm forever throwing bottles" after that match!

I believe there will be changes this summer.

1: Kenny Dalglish will remain in charge with total control of recruitment in summer

2: Kuyt,Maxi,Aqualani,Cole, Aurellio and possibly Glen Johnson will move on bringing in some funds and saving big wages.

3: Kenny will try to bring in young British talent, targets probably being two of Moses, Hoillet, Hooper, Jarvis and Fletcher

4: Some overseas flair players could be recruited such as Ramirez, Martinez and Soldado

5: Kenny will need to replace Glen Johnson and make a move for a replacement for Carragher, who will have perhaps another season in him.

6: Above all Kenny wants players with desire, passion to wear the shirt and a winning mentality and who will work in the team but he will not risk the dressing room balance with world class superstars on top money

Why would we need a replacement for Carragher? We have Agger, Skrtel, Coates and Kelly already in the first squad.

Kenny wants players with desire, passion to wear the shirt and a winning mentality and who will work in the team

The only player we have that fits that description is Gerrard

29 Apr 2012 20:44:29
Who cares who the England manager is?

As the old chant goes 'we're not English we are Scouse!'

Kieran.

Wot u talkin about, the two best players for england r scouse, gerrard and rooney

Unfortunately once the season ends and the Euros are on I wil have to support England, this however will now be tough going if Hodgson puts 10 men behind the ball!

I think it's time we all started putting some consideration into our second team!

ps. Poland for me!

Evening eds fellow reds. A couple of quick points big andy needs another season at least, and is there legs in the Adam Johnson rumour (j mcateer ) got any legs. He would be superp for us .cheers psv

It would be Gaston Ramirez for me, not Adam 'it's all gone to my head' Johnson.

29 Apr 2012 20:41:52
Maybe I am being optimistic, maybe even more than usual. But maybe chelseas good form is good for us in the final.
Gives them a bit of confidence to have a go at us and open themselves up at the back. Drogba as good as he is can be controlled by agger and skrtle, carra seems to struggle against him for me.
We will up our game against them anyway and we will be classed as underdogs but that's when we always cause an upset.
If Chelsea park the bus like they did against barca then we would really struggle but they can't do that in a final and they will be full of confidence and go forward.
Here's hoping anyway. It will be a close game and maybe just a single goal will settle it. As long as it's not you know who.

MIKEY

No CB's in world football can control Drogba if he's anything like his best. What makes you think 2 CB's from a midtable PL team can??

For the record i think it will be pretty even, we're in form but you're still Liverpool at the end of the day, but im telling you lads if Carragher plays we'll score 3 or 4

SHED END

Why would Drogba be starting?

Your right no one can control him
Otherwise they'd stop him from falling over ever 2 minutes for no reason what so ever!
Clown.

Clown - was that meant to be banter? funny observation? really weak pal. For the record i dont like what he does, but still, if hes anything like his best you cant 'control' him, he would plough straight through any of your defenders

SHED END

Theres a chance he would pirouette straight through our defenders before enacting the dying swan in the penalty box. For such a 'tough guy', he moans and falls and cries like a 3 year old.

cozinoz

Personally I think Skrtle is more than a match physically for him. I agree though, that if Drogba is at his best it will be impossible to 'control' him, but we can 'contain' him. That is possible.'
KiwiRed

Cozinoz- sort of like Carroll then yeah?

Eds,

With this approach to Woy, is it only just me that thinks that this is a ploy to get redknapp by showing he isn't their only option?
This just seems like a classic smokescreen to me..... {Ed003's Note - All seems like he will be the next National boss to me,maybe the thought of £10m(press reports) compo was a deciding factor}

He cant handle big time players, which is evident by his time at Liverpool. And there are even more in the England camp, so this appointment, if it goes through, will be a big flop. Just an opinion...

29 Apr 2012 20:21:30
sigurdson would be immense and a good mid and cf

CF? No. But as a Reading fan who saw him develop, he's class. Im not going to be unrealistic and say hes a world beater but in a few years with the right guidance, he he serious potential.

With Lucas back next season I would actually like to see henderson in the middle and gerrard right (why has he not even been tried there this year?)
I think Blackpool are looking at the lad on loan from Derby at Pompey, I live in Pompey now and the fans seem to think he's done well under the circumstances, and that might mean Phillips will be available.
So Phillips from Blackpool
Leroy Fer and De jong from FC Twente
and the young swiss lad Karim Frei from Fulham.
All reallistic and with other players leaving not an overly expensive outlay.
I have a feeling though that Kenny is not happy with either first choice fullback?
I'd love Martinez, Erickson and Suaseta but so would a lot of wealthier clubs.

I hope LFC look to sign the below realistic targets

- Clint dempsey- Fulham-Aged 29 but offers so much.

- Gylfi Sigurdsson-Swansea- Aged 22- For me this is the ideal candidate to replace Gerrard

- Jordan Rhodes- Huddersfield- Aged 22 - Prolific goal scorer with 36 goals in league 1 this year

- Matt Jarvis- Wolves- Ages 25- With Wolves relegated we could get him on the cheap

The above players i think are all quality and realistic.

I would also love to sign

-Soldado
-Christian Eriksen
-Lavezzi
-Adam Johnson
-Munian

I think the above names are very unlikely

what do you think EDs ???

WHAT, Roy Hodgson speaking to FA over England role.

29 Apr 2012 19:23:47
I would cash in on gerrard now, doesn't chase lost tackles, takes ages to get back, nearly walked 70% of the match yesterday...Kenny..CARRA...cart horse now, shouldn't be nowhere near the 1st team.

Gerrard, the guy who chased the ball and assisted for the first goal? The guy who made sure he was in the correct position for a ball from Suárez which resulted in a good shot that was blocked well by a defender? The same Gerrard as the one running as fast as possible when Suárez picked the ball up to complete his hattrick? Yeah, he definitely do enough.

Thanks, Ell.

Sounds like a Man U fan!

I too think carra`s time is coming to an end..But please show some respect to the guy,,,he is a true legend....

77to2005

You can really tell he is past it when he made the chance for the first goal in an important match away from home. Only players who should not be allowed near the first team do that. SJB

Rght about carragher you would have to be blind to see that. But gerrard pleasw give me a break he was excellent yesterday the. Problem being is this season hes struggled with fitness and being played out of pisition yesterday proved he is best behind striker, has kenny been missing the boat all season this could make suarez score more i have been waiting all season please play in fa cup behind striker his drive and shooting are wasting infront of defence

They BOTH played really well last night.
The Real KB

Carragher was one of our best players yesterday. Gerrard was also. I don't understand how you can criticise these two players after winning 3-0...

BthekingB

Watch the match again, watch gerrard off the ball,(as a football fan)not as watching your idol...this is why we will never move forward...to loyal to liverpool born players..Carra..honest..100%..but never world class, gerrard, one of the best midfield players ever in the prem, but times up,lets cash in,we never make anymoney on older players, spearing, enough said.....TRUTH

IF a fan wants to state they dont think a player is good enough,so be it!, It usually is for the reason he aint!!!!Why all the crying"YOUR NOT A REAL FAN WHINGE WHINGE" etc etc.,not like henderson cares , everyone is entitled to an opinion. As much as i think suarez is pure class,in the same breath i and like so many more, dont rate henderson. Folk are calling him the next gerard!!!!!!thats an insult!!!
5gold stars

So you think that you're allowed an opinion, but nobody should be allowed to disagree with you?

Stell

No its i dont agree with folk slating someone just cos they think jordan henderson is carp, especially when so many agree , And i dont agree with the gerards comparison cos its daft!!
5gold stars

Lucas was awful when we signed him. MUCH worse than Henderson and Adam yet no one says that now do they? He is one of our most important players... give them time. It is the fact that people like to rush into success which makes me mad about the people who slate OUR players. Playing with confidence is a KEY THING in football. If we get behind the players then they will gain confidence and it will show in their performances. I feel for Henderson. How is he supposed to perform when 90% of our supporters are trying to flog him out?

BthekingB

Well maybe other people don't agree with slating a 21 year old lad in his first season? He might never be as good as Gerrard, not many will, but he's a talented kid who should be given a chance to develop and get used to being at the club before people write him off. Surely if you're a fan you want him to root for him and help him succeed? Or am I being old fashioned?

Stell

Don't think because one player made it now everyone is cut from the same cloth. I wish him nothing but good fortune. I'm just saying I see more desire in Shelvey than i have in Adam, Henderson and Downing put together.

Players in the acedemy who have potential to be world class not good players I mean special like Suarez

For me it would be sterling and perhaps suso maybe Jordan ibe

Jerome Sinclair and possibly Yalany Baio for me, but it's all really speculation! Randon events, off-field distractions, attitudes can all have massive impacts on how a player eventually turns out, both for good or bad. but based upon what I have seen, these two have the baseline talent to become fantastic players in the future.

The Shoe Shine Boy

Yalany Biao is definitely going to make it at lfc. he already takes ball away from players likke lucas, he tackles like masch and he passes the ball well. McLaughlin will also be a star. so will suso, sama, toni silva and morgan in my eyes. ngoo has to stuff to be a Darren Bent rated player. Adorjan could also be a proper good player.

29 Apr 2012 17:35:50
Also, I forgot to say, I know someone who knows someone who works within the club. Liverpool FC will be developed as a brand over the next couple of season. This includes the kit design. He said the new logo crest will be the liverbird on it's own as would be seen to connect to our famous history, but also to develop us as a more recognisable brand. The crest symbol is dynamic for different coloured playing kits and merchadise, and will act as the recognised sysmbol for LFC all over the world in the future.

So with a goal to his name at barca and a
Hat trick today........ Is Torres gonna wreck our fa cup dreams?

He's been with Chelsea nearly 18 months now & has scored 10ish? goals. Some against weak opposition, some in the 92min when the game is already won. I'd rather see Torres on the pitch next week than Drogba...

But dont under-estimate him. We all remember the potential he has....

Just thinking back to our best midfields over the years compared to our current Shelvey (20) = next Gerrard
Hendo (21) = next but far better Meireles
Adam (26) = poor man's Alonso (but nobody can match Xabi at what he does)
Lucas (24) = better Mascherano
Spearing (23) = similar effect to Sissoko

With time, patience and a new world beater creative midfielder, the foundation is there for this team to go a long way
NextGenRed

Thank god!! meireles left the next season so hopefully your right on that one!!

Hender next and far better meireles ha im a liverpool supporter and i dont see it.
you also cannot compare spearing to sissoko

29 Apr 2012 17:00:41
looks like torres is finding his form another 3 goals today so 4 in the last 2 games. what pickles me is half the liverpool fans would not have him back i dont understand ?????? he is a fine player always rated him from the word go. there is a rumour we are ready to make a bid for him of £20 million bargain if we get him for that .

Move on!

Scoring a hat trick against QPR doesn't erase the last 18 months of hardly any goals.

This is mere hope on your behalf. Can you please post a link of this apparent 20m interest, let's look at reasons for this not happening (which you provided at the start).
Firstly yes he is starting to score now find his old self, now do you really think chelsea are going to think oh a man who we paid £50m for is just started scoring let's sell him for less than half to one of our rivals. Next when he left last year he said that he wanted to join a big club effectively burning and possible bridges back to Liverpool and thirdsy this man who is 27 is earning more money than gerrard, we are obviously going to not equal his salary at Chelsea. And would he be willing to take a large pay cut.
Please stop going on about this it is old let us move to pastures new.

Kind regards

The southern red

He is not finding his form, nor will he - MOVE ON!

Its took nando a while to get into a bit of a stride scoring wise eh...so get off mandy carrolls back..he will come good if he stays in..

I'd prefer to have jackson martinez in the squad.

29 Apr 2012 17:00:19
Dear Ed001,

I think that Kenny has been told by the owners to play the style that he wants without a DOF. Kenny is all about pass and move, and Andy Carroll has not worked out very well. The players we are perhaps thinking about buying (Suaseta, De Jong, Ramirez, Phillips), play to the way that Kenny likes. Kenny made a shocking team play well last year by playing pass and move. With Comolli gone, Kenny has been told to get them playing well until the end of the season, and they will assess it from there.

Suarez could be a huge part of the future but may be sacrificed for a high transfer fee. We could probably invest a Suarez transfer fee on 2 more promising players. It may all depend on a new manager coming in, they will have their own views on any current playing staff. I can see Carroll being sold for 15 million, perhaps to Newcastle. Maxi, Kuyt, Cole, Aquilani, Johnson and perhaps even Charlie Adam will be sold if possible. It leaves a fair bit of room to be able to develop a new team, with some reserves making the step up over the next 2 years.

I am happy to be patient with our progress in re-building the club. With FSG we are in the best hands we have been in for a long time. They have said they have a strategy, it wasn't working with Comilli's interference. They have bought this club with the confidence that they can win. This means in every aspect of the club they want to be successful.

Financialy, they know that they have to invest to see a return. Champions league football makes this easier, so this season has been a massive setback to thier strategy. I think they will be a lot of interest drummed up in this summers tour to USA, and there is a big strategy set out for commercial revenue to increase over the next 5 years. They are clearly doing all the right things to convince me that they are brilliant owners for the club because they are good business people. The only real blip was employing Comolli in the first instance, but will not be fooled again.

For these reason I feel I would be a suitable applicant for the vacant Ed099 role.

Yours sincerely,

Fowler99

Are people just not getting it? Carroll is staying!!

^ I really hope not!

Why would Newcastle want Caroll back? Cisse is killing it... Caroll is not. Jog on Liverfool fans. Also, is 15 mil including the 25 percent sell on fee? if not then it would be more like 12.5 mil... lol 35 mil and 25 percent... happy times.

You guys may want Jason Roberts from reading, you can get him for like 20 mil... a steal for you guys!

.Ramirez would be the player I most would like to see us sign for next season.Soldado and Elm would also be welcome. They would add that element which we have failed with this season, goals, goals,I feel we don't need much more than 3 as our squad will also be built up with emerging youth talent.

Micheal mouse

I'd say
ramirez
rasmus elm
jackson martinez
susaeta

or like you said just

Someone asked the question so heres the answer.
Barca have hit the post 21 times in the last 26 games, a small serie C italian club have hit the bar 33 times this season including 5 times in one match. A few years ago valencia hit the post 23 times in 19 games. Now for liverpool this season we have hit the post more then any other team in europe after we hit the crossbar yesterday. In 2009 we hit the bar 24 times the most that season in the PL. Also that was the season we came second i think imagine if we scored a few more goals we would have won the title.

Going into the game against Norwich, we had hit the woodwork 32 times this season...

Do we turn it on when places up for grabs in Glamour games?!
So nice to see Suarez just hit it,and not f nny about too much.Beating player 6 times, having a brew before he hits it.Truely great hatrick.
The concern has to be Judas is now on fire aswell.I feel Chavs will start him,and keep "Cheat-ba" for Champs Leauge Final.
Whichever it maybe,we must!,-stop supply to either or both of aforementioned. And nullify them BOTH!

We play our own game and let them worry about us. Go right at them, they have a dodgy defence.

With all this marin debate:

Marin: 8 Goals 83 apps
Vermaelen: 13 goals in 65 apps

Not saying Marin won't be good for Chelsea in EPL, but he is not world class like people are talking about.

Tekneek

The amount of times I see vermaelen in the other teams box i actually wonder if his being played as a CB.

Take away 50 odd own goals vermaelen scores then you may be on to something.
marin is a creative "playmaker" not corner expert like vermaelen.

He has scored 2 own goals..damn vermaelen still has more goals lol. Btw marin being a creative "playmaker" still does not have enough assists. I still wish him success at chelsea though :)

Tekneek

I'd rather have gaston ramirez myself.

Hi guys Neutral here...

Genuine question here, not trying to cause an argument..

How many years left do you think you have in Gerrard? and do you think Henderson is going to be good enough to step into the VERY big boots Gerrard will eventually leave behind?

Good luck in the FA Cup final next week!

Jim

2 years playing and then eventual coaching role.
henderson will soon fade out of the team

Henderson will become a great player for us,and it's a fact that he his a very skilful player with great technique. He has a great engine, all he needs is to develop. He has plenty of time to do just that.

Micheal Mouse

Maybe you could Fade away!
Then we'd get no more stupid post from you!!

Lyndon

I actually see Henderson as Alonso's replacement. I think he is pretty good when he has time on the ball, but he is not very good at taking players on individually (which I think is why he has struggled so much on the right wing). He is a workhorse though, and he is ready to get involved in every tackle. I kind of see Adam as his backup over the next few seasons.

I think we all know Lucas is taking over for Mascherano. Spearing will be his backup.

Shelvey is the one who I see taking over for Gerrard. He does not have amazing positional sense (like Gerrard), but he has good vision and he always wants to attack. He will be very good playing just behind the strikers because he has a good pass and a good shot. I do not think Shelvey will be as good as Gerrard, but he has a few seasons to develop before taking over for him. I think we may try to sign a world class player to play here if Shelvey does not develop into one, and then keep Shelvey as his backup.

Thanks,

CSeiling

I think shelvey will become a better player than henderson if he gets the same chances.

I think Henderson is'nt comparable to any players we've had recently and I believe he's a lot more similar to Paul Scholes than anyone else. And Shelvey will replace Gerrard, I feel in 2-3 years time a midfield trio of Henderson, Shelvey and our new skipper Lucas will be pretty hard to beat.

Suarez hatrick yesterday, Torres hatrick today, who would you rather have? Bring on chelski on saturday, the better the team, the better we play! I would take suarez all day! But torres wouldn't be a bad partner!! Y..N..W..A

Suarez personally and thats not me being a biased fan.

Torres was unreal for us, but 1 game against a very POOR qpr side doesnt mean anything imo.

The last year Torres has offered nothing while Suarez has been playing unbelievable, Suarez has treble goals and god knows how many more assists... easy one for me

Just a shame we never had both playing together. That would have been a frightening partnership.

Here is some stats.
Every time liverpool have hit the woodwork if all of those had went in we would be sitting 4th in the league. Unlucky?
Luis suarez has hit the post more than any other player in bpl this season with 6.
Liverpool have converted just 9! Percent of shots into goals this season the most wasteful team inpremier league.
Liverpool have allowed the fewest shots at there goal in premier league with 120. Tight!
We have hit the woodwork more than any other team im pl since 2000.

Ohh and for someone who said last night marko marins chelseas new signings is not the player made out well only 2 players in the last 3 seasons have made more assists in a bundesliga season 2010/2011 season beimg 24 assists. BANG. worth 7m id say so bargain

Not we would be fighting for 3rd

Just the fact what we have to say that means we are where we should be. its not ideal but its the truth.

Cool Breeze

Hes a fact, if every team in the league had scored when they hit the woodwork Liverfool would be in the same position if not worse... FACT

LFC need to buy the finished article. We have tried over the years to buy bargains and have found out that we wasted cash and increased wages on one season players.
Hope this season we look at world class players even if it means two or three only. The issue is without CL we can't attract these kind of players.

We have the finished artical we just need the we other headlines to make it all work. suarez is a goalscorer but hes not torres he doesn't thrive of being the most important player. suarez needs a meireles, a bellamy a maxi a kuyt.

really think we should sign hoilett and moses as they r young and quality, unlike hendo. is this a possibility?

So the England under 21 captain aint quality?

Phooey

And if they don't set the world alight in their first season, will you come on here and say that they're rubbish and we should sign whomever happens to be having a good couple of games that month?

Stell

Well for one, hendo aint a winger his being played out of position...

secondly I cant see him coming here if reports are true that arsenal and spurs want him

29 Apr 2012 15:23:35
LFC should try to sign 2 -3 of the following:
Luuk De Jong
Jackson Martinez
Iker Munian
Gaston Ramirez
Lucas Mouras
Javi Martinez
Roberto Soldado
Clint Dempsey

Will actually try to sign 4 – 5 of the following:
Matt Phillips
Victor Moses
Wilfried Zaha
Salomon Kalou
Matt Jarvis
Darren Bent

Just being realistic, instead of going out and getting 2 – 3 of the former with all of the transfer budget plus sales we will most likely sign 4 – 5 "proven premiership" players. I have seen the proven premiership players and the vast majority never replicate their form when transferring from one club to the next. So that really should not matter that much you are always taking a risk when you sign someone might as well go for someone that will get the fans excited and has the potential to enhance the team.

Also, we are not that bad off doing major surgery to the team, again, will only make for another "transitional year." IMO we should go for 2 – 3 difference makers, i.e. all attack minded players and maybe better cover for Lucas but that being said Masch was always fun to watch. We do not need another overhaul just some exciting new blood into the team. Okay rant over, sorry.

Time and time again liverpool have made the wrong decision or not gone for a player who clearly wanted to be at liverpool at some point in time, imagine if Torres hadn't gone and we had bought mata it wouldve been a different side altogether, Eds/Macca which positions are looking to strengthen I wouldve thought a striker right midfielder but we are being linked with central mids and the strikers are a risk not proven goal machines, I would love to see david villa and suarez play together.

Absurdred

Torres scored a hattrick against QPR so what he hasn't done anything for one and half seasons not worth having with his wages

Macca, are Liverpool Interested in Rasmus elm? Finds space everywhere. And would thrive because the opposition will be heavily covering Suarez and gerrad while elm can pick out passes to soldado( if we get him).

--------- reina -----------
Kelly-skrtel--agger-Jose
--------- lucas -----------
--------- elm ------------
Munain------------ gaston- interchangeable.
---------Suarez---------
---------- soldado--------
Munain and ramirez can swap sides during games to cause problems down the sidelines while they also draw defenders to let elm run into space to find soldado or Suarez.

Someone explain to me why I have 3 disagrees?
AnfieldUSA {Ed023's Note - You will have more now after that question}

Due to the fact Gerrard is not in the team, and we are not going to sign over £80m worth of players

Reina
Kelly Agger Skrtle Jose

Suarez
Carroll

Is more likely, De Jong and Tello as other possible players, Tello is free also !!

With the summer transfer window approaching, whoever our manager is, whoever our Director of Football is, well whoever is in charge of transfers this summer, I hope they do what they should have done last summer and buy players who will help to get the best out of Luis Suarez.

He showed yesterday that he is the closest thing to a world class player we have and we should look to make the most of him.

RedSG

I agree, i only see suarez improving over the next couple years and i think it would be a big mistake to let him go. i dont know why no one has pointed it out but having suarez as a strike partner would be an amazing thing to lay down on the table when trying to sign a top striker. With that incentive alone i think we could attract some top quality players. What striker wouldnt want to play with someone who terrorises a back line like suarez, and draws men toawrds him opening up tons of space

29 Apr 2012 13:50:24
Hi eds, do you know if Darren Bent will be available for sale this summer? Could it depend on if Villa are relegated or not? After our rumoured interest in January would we be interested in him now if he was available? {Ed023's Note - We were never interested in January & I doubt we will have interest in the summer.}

29 Apr 2012 13:48:17
It's actually great news to hear our scouts seem to be very proactive recently, it's something we don't hear a lot about. Watching Bologna, Montpellier/Toulouse, Bilbao. Presumingly, watching Ramirez, Giraud, Sissoko, Muniain and Susaeta. These players would no doubt strengthen us and after last summer, we need to bring in some international talent for prices they are worth, not over-inflated average British players. It does seem that we seem to be more proactive in scouting since Comolli left. I wonder why that is?

29 Apr 2012 13:30:40
I am sick of people talking about Suarez being sold in the summer!
Why would we sell our main striker/main man??
He is young and dynamic, so has years ahead of him in a red shirt.

I am sure the fans would be right behind the owners/club for selling the fans favourite!

John Henry said winning the Carling cup was a step forward and was time for all the of field problems to be put to bed!

Just my opinion red men!

Why would we sell our main striker/man ?

Ehhh, Owen, Torres, Alonso, Macherano etc

Suarez is gone, just my opinion, just like you have yours

Out:
Cole
Kuyt
Maxi
Aquilani
Aurelio
Carroll

In:
Ba (Exchange for Carroll)
Affelay (Loan)
Ramierez
Sigurosson
Sissoko

Carroll for Ba? No way, he got a releese fee of 6-8 mil so that would be dumber then paying 35 mil on a injurd striker with half a season in the EPL..

The Rob

He signed a new contract if I am not mistaken hence why no team took him in Jan.

Affelay on loan would be a good one but i think barca would want to sell

All this talk about iker munian whoch would be fantastic what a player, though gulliem ballague is apmost sure that munian will leave bilbao but not this year he reckons one more year. Though he does think susaeta, iraola and lorente are likely to leave. Martinez he said no unless barca or real offet more than 40 million. Ander herrera is a no no aswel ge said so with scouts watching i think in real world it is susaeta not munian though they could be keeping close tabs on munian but not for this summer but surely if liverpool ever have a chance of getting him it wil be before he gets any better and spending 25 mill this summer it would be worth it because guliem thinks barca are going to be there. Also gulliem thinks he is going to be a superstar on levels with iniesta and co. 25mill sounds a lot but not a lot fod that kind of talent and also if he gets us back into champs league his price tag will be paid by champs league money and television so seems sensIble to spend a hige anount in short term reep the rewards long term.

29 Apr 2012 13:19:28
hi eds, pardon me if youve already answered this sort of question, however im confused on something regarding the dof, macca said in one of his many posts the players we are looking at ie munian soldado etc, now going off at a tangent one of the eds also picked up on a point that the dof (commolli) had a say on the style of play. if so then wouldnt those players in question be to fit into his style of play?, therefore if a new dof came in and his style of play differed to that of commolli then the transfer targets would have to change, hope this makes sense.
billy {Ed002's Note - I think Comolli's influence on tactics was not as much as folks think.}

Im sure Ed001 and macca will confirm/agree with me,im pretty sure FSG policy is home grown talent and promoting youngsters into first team as like they have done with the Red Sox.I think with this in mind it will take a few years for the fruits of the youth side to start to make an impact.Keep the faith fellow Reds, one cup already in the bag another trip to follow on sat for poss trophy number two so all in all not a terrible first full season for KK and FSG.

Game plan for Saturday, a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Reina

Johnson
Skrtel
Agger
Enrique

Bellamy
Spearing
Shelvey
Downing

Gerrard
Suarez

Gerrard playing off Suarez. We have to have pace on the wings so Bellamy and Downing as both like to switch. Chelsea are likely to have either Bosingwa or Ferreira at right back so we need to exploit them as they are weak. If Bosingwa plays centre back, we need to play the ball through the middle for Suarez to turn against him as he can be erratic and a bit clumsy. Could get us a freekick/pen or too!

Spearing will add much needed aggresion in the middle of the park, small but makes a good impact.

Shelvey is much more effective than Henderson and can deliver a decent ball into the box. Showed on Saturday he has ability.

Dalglish has to be big and drop Carragher. He has lost that pace and power in his game now and has been liable for a few goals this season. Agger and Skrtel comliment each other well and have struck up a very good partnership. I think Drogba is more likely to start for Chelsea than Torres so we need Skrtel to man-mark him as he can match his power. Torres will come on and that's when we will need Agger's pace against him.

Carroll, Kuyt and Maxi to possibly come on and make an impact. I have a good feeling about this. C'mon the Reds! Take 3 points on Tuesday too! YNWA!

Jonny. {Ed023's Note - Thanks for sharing your game plan Kenny}

First sung by Liverpool fans in the 60's in The Kop when they also sang Beatles songs. BBC even went there to film this new "phenomenon" taking place. Why Celtic Fans seem to think they ever sang it first always amazes me.

Celtic adopted the song after the 1st game after Hillsborough! The Charity game at Parkhead!

In 1966, when Liverpool played Celtic in the European Cup Winners Cup, Celtic adopted the anthem after hearing us sing it during the game.

Stone YNWA.

The song was originally played at anfield before the game as it was in the top 10 songs which were played before the match, when the song went out of the top ten the fans complained and basically adopted from there! This is on the history of the kip DVD.

Hi ed's just a quick question what do you think our best formation is at present?

Kind regards

The Southern Red {Ed002's Note - I am sure others have a view but I have no interest personally in "formations". I recall a discussion once where it was decided that the only time formations could be considered fixed was at kick off. I know this guy at Clairefontaine who for maybe 20 years has been studying if and how different formations are applied. He advocates and teaches that certain sides (he cites Barcelona, Chelsea, Ajax and Kashima Antlers) that have achieved varying levels of success have actually now reverted to something between no formation at all and the Metodo approach and that strict formations should be a thing of the past. He wants to see intelligent players that can adapt as the game changes and this is what is being toaught to the French kids who are seen as the future of the game in France.}

29 Apr 2012 10:38:45
Ed001, what do you think would be best for Liverpool, in terms of Gerrard?

For me, he can't play in a 2, unless he had Lucas along side him working over-time. But that's a lot of pressure on the lad (Lucas) to perform at such a high level every week. Clearly his best position is behind the striker, but that would mean only playing one striker, so there's Carroll warming the bench already. If you're playing one striker upfront they have to be a clinical goalscorer, and apart from last night, Suarez hasn't proved to be one in the Premier League.

Do we change personnel to suit an ageing Stevie G? Or do we do what I don't have the bottle to say, never mind do?

Would really appreciate your opinion.

Cheers,
Stone YNWA. {Ed001's Note - I think we have 3 options.
1. play him on the right. His crossing is pinpoint, his ability is excellent, he is good in the air to get on the end of crosses from the left, and he can cut in and score from the edge of the box.
2. play him behind a striker. He can score goals, but I just don't really like him there personally, it just doesn't seem to make the most of his talents. Plus he can be inclined to spend too much time watching the match if the ball can't be given to him enough. Also, it doesn't really allow him to burst onto the ball from deep often enough.
3. sell him. He gets huge wages, he is getting on and he is injured far too much. But, still, it is difficult to contemplate him in any other shirt. But there have been signs that his presence overawes other players.
Personally I think the decision has been left too long, I think it is too late for 3, unless it was just to save on his wages. Otherwise I think we just accept he can't play every game and try and fit him as best as we can, while he is still able to run a game. Though he hasn't got many more years left in him, it must be said, as a first choice player.}

Totally agree ED1, hindsight's a wonderful thing but maybe if he'd gone to Chelsea in 2005/6 then Rafa would have spent the fee on rebuilding the team. All irrelevant now but I wonder if pressed whether Rafa would secretly admit to being annoyed with Parry for begging Stevie to stay.....I didn't see Rafa running to his house to stop him leaving.
He's been a brilliant servant and if he could stay, accept a squad role like Carra and win the league with us then that would be a fitting reward for them both. I'm afraid I don't think Gerrard's ego will accept that way of thinking so I'm of the view he will move on, if not in the summer then in Jan '13.
Just a personal opinion, I know it won't be popular but your head has to rule your heart in football, we've continued as a successful club after, Shanks, Paisley, Keegan, Rush, Owen, Fowler, Dalglish and we need a plan to continue after Gerrard and Carragher, very soon............pause for the slaughter (protect me from a kicking Eds and don't post the all the replies, Lol!!)
ALB.

I find it very strange that we are still debating at this stage in his career where we should play him. Suppose it just shows how gifted he really is to be able to play and influence so many areas of the park. Although I would say on the right as well. But only just.

MIKEY

Do you not think that one day soon he could be the next Liverpool manager, maybe player/manager like dalglish was!

Paul the red

I think the option of playing him on the right is certainly viable, if i remember correctly he played on the right a lot during one season of Rafa's reign and he scored a lot of goals, and if we are to ever get the best of Andy Carroll, then Gerrard is the best crosser of a ball at the club, but playing him in a two is a tough call, with Lucas along side him you could get away against lesser opponents, not against the stronger sides, along side Charlie Adam he would also struggle, Adam doesnt have the legs to play in a two.
Cobra

Interesting debate. I agree with Ed001 and ALB. Personally I think Gerrard has been a fantastic servant to the club and will remain one of our legends......BUT we need to look to the future. That for me is Shelvey and Henderson atm. If SG is up for it, he could go to a foreign club in the sun for a few years with a whacking salary. Then he could come back for a role with LFC? With the money we have from his transfer we would be able to buy a couple of good players....good for him and the club?

Don't get me wrong, if he to wants to stay, no problems with me but maybe he would like to try his luck abroad and we should let him. Mind you I remember Ian Rush's comments about living in Italy " was like being in a foreign country" or words to that effect. It suits some (Lineker) but not others (i've done it and seen it).

Whatever happens we will always love the guy.

Iggypop

Cheers Iggypop, I thought I was going to get slated so nice to know there are others who think similar.
I'd think Carra was the most suited to a major role after his playing days, potential manager for me.
Stevie not so sure, I'd hope that he would not be worried about himself so much nowdays and would be really helping Hendo, Jonjo and Lucas learn for the future, time will tell.
Anyway we'll know a lot more in a few weeks time and the way Chelsea are looking all focus will be required next Saturday..................here's hoping Stevie has another big game goal in his locker.....c'mon red men give it your all just to finish the season off with a smile!
Cheers ALB.

Hi Guys.
Good debate.. I have been wondering for some time if Stevie could play the Alonso role?
Lucas playing the Mascher role and Stevie tucked in and pinging the 40 yard passes about the park. Most of us on here say how much we miss the passing range of Alonso, if Stevie could play this role it may prolong his playing career with the club as well. just my thoughts...

Downing was poor again and should be shipped out along with charlie adam and andy carroll, we need to bring in 3 quality replacements i.e. gaston ramirez, hoilett/rasmus elm/ ryad boudebouz/ibrahim afellay, and replace carroll with soldado and another cheaper striker. Then we need 3 more quality players i.e. mousa sissoko, isla and top back up gk. if we can do this and sell some older players i.e. maxi, kuyt, aurelio, jones, johnson, carragher, joe cole, aquilani and jay spearing, sorry he isnt up to the standard required and if we replace him with sissoko then we wont need him. I feel henderson has shown abit more then the other british signings and can improve because he works hard so he should stay. I would like opinions and anything else ive missed. RedTurk

It's been a tough season red Turk for all the new players to settle in and play at an field, it's easy to say get rid and if they FO then no told you so, but these players were fantastic for there previous clubs and will come good for us, we need to get behind them,
I do think we need new editions rob the squad but I would not sell all the new guys aswell, we need to build a squad that can challenge,
Great result yesterday well done the boys.

Paul the red

Sorry for the spelling above, predictive text on the iPhone and I didn't check it!
Paul the red

Rasmus elm- drops into the pocket very well which is one thing we desperately need and he can also pick passes far and close, forward or behind, straight or out wide.
AnfieldUSA

There is no suggestion to say that the players you have mentioned will be quality replacements. It could be argued that Downing and Carroll should have been quality players that we needed, but it hasnt worked out in the main. Its pretty boring actually reading your anti Liverpool player rants then suggesting with your manager hat on who we should buy as quality replacements. You my dear chap know as much as me when it comes to buying footballers for Liverpool! Absolutely zilch!

If there's any player with premiership experience we should sign, it would be Victor Moses. Singred

When Wigan lost 8 consecutive games earlier in the season Moses was awful.
So perhaps yes, lots on here would I'm sure? Wouldn't give him any stick if he had a bad game? :(((

think henderson has been playing really well as of late, a bit of confidence is doing him really well, the shift he put in against Blackburn was phenomenal and he has carried that form on, imagine what he could do with our full support.

Ed what sort of money do the Red Sox's spend for players.

I hear each players costs in excess of 80m US Dollars which is a lot. I hope the owners come to the Final seeing as they skipped the Semi's for a silly baseball game

jonjo shelvey is just turning 20!!!!! hes quality that boy, always wanting the ball. gr8 striding forward n productive, if wasnt for a bobble he would have scored .
5gold stars

I'm glad he missed. If he'd scored, the game would have panned out differently and we wouldn't have had Suarez's wonder goal. But yes, Shelvey looks comfortable on the ball and is very mobile. People will start noticing him more when he bangs a few in.

I agree. I wasnt a fan to be honest & i still dont think he is a world beater, just yet anyway, but he can certainly do everything Adam can do & more with a fair bit more mobility. Maybe its something to look at in the summer. If we are to get good quality players in the summer then maybe Adam will be sold! Every penny counts!.Shelvey could fill his role quite easily.

The Irish Rover

His style of play is very similar to stevie G. I think within a year or two, once he gets to play more, he will be gerrard's replacement.

I think Shelvey is a cracking player and one to replace Gerrard, at times over the past few games he has played he has reminded me a lot of the old Gerrard, he can pass a long cross field ball straight to the feet of a winger which is great. The only problem is our team is still too Gerrard dominated for Shelvey to really step up, he is a very similar player to Gerrard, but you can see when they play, if they want to push Gerrard up then Shelvey has to drop back, if they want Gerrard to sit deep then Shelvey gets pushed up, its not so much as a bad thing but I dont think Shelvey will become a real world beater (which i believe he will) until Gerrard starts to step away a bit, which of course I hope isnt for a long time!

I always thought he would have been the natural successor to Gerrard from the time Rafa signed him. I was quite baffled when we were signing Hendo as the future replacement for Gerrard, as I had been tracking his progress ever since that time at Sunderland when he shone against Man City, and he hasnt looked at all similar. {Ed023's Note - Kenny signed him}

Has anyone heard anything regarding extra tickets for FA cup final being released by Liverpool. I have just heard there are an extra 2000 tickets going on sale. Dont get your hopes up though this could be nonsense, not the most reliable person told me!!

I'm not sure about that, but I can tell you that I sorted my tickets out on Friday, which was fairly late, so that might mean that the tickets are trickling through more slowly than anticipated.

It's no surprise that the Reds home form has been poor yet the away form ok. Read Gary Ablett's book and all will become clear. His performances suffered because of the stick he was getting from the fans. Henderson, Downing, Carroll, Adam, Spearing have all suffered from moronic abuse from the Anfield "supporters" is it any wonder that performances have been below par. Next season get behindthe team, support the players even when their form dips and you'll see results improve.

That has been going on since Jimmy Melia 1950's and probably before that - the only difference is the size of the paychecks - and the morons as you call them know the difference between putty and sh*t -

let me get as many disagree as possible but luis suarez is the best striker in premier league. luis suarez-------- opposition's nightmare. cheers.

redh0t

I love him but Van Persie and Aguero are better at the moment

Chris in Tamworth

I pressed agree because he could be, but at the mo RVP is the better finisher. But for a new striker to the prem with the ban and new team he as a lot to offer to for future hopefully with LFC

I think as a complete player, he is better than van Persie or even aguero. The guy has shown now that he can finish (he's scored in the last few games) and yesterday showed to the world how good he is! In addition to this, he can create something out of nothing, can create chances for others, tracks back etc. he might not be a better finisher but i think its consistency in finishing rather than quality of finishing. Yes rvp has scored more goals but have u seen van Persie score a goal with the sheer skill and accuracy of Suarez's third gail yesterday? No u haven't!

All i know is i hope he stays. for me he is unreplacable and i see him being top 5 in the world in the next few years.

Shelvey! Should have scored one, could have scored two more! Always on the move, and in the right area.
He is quality and will get even better.

Deffenetly our brightest prospect of all our younglings, will one day take Gerrards role as CAM if given the chanse.

I rate him very highly and he was top 3 preformer last night.

Big salut to Suarez, thats shows what he can do whene keeping it simple.

Gerrard, for past, now and comming times big thanks!

Good starting XI from KK, he has the team playing good footy. Althue we miss simple, cleanical play around and in the box wich may be calld "luck" by some.
Ill say it has at times lookt very messy in the box, at others the box been empty and our attackers elsewhere..
How ever id like to give it some time, KK should sit out his contract.

The Rob.

Ill say one thing he is far better than spearing in my book. Id start him on saturday.

Next match kenny is going to keep it fresh and pick something like this:

reina
g.j. martin, seba, aurelio
hendo shelvey
gerrard maxi
kuyt suarez

but maybe spearing will play.

29 Apr 2012 10:00:36
This is when kenny should keep a similar team against fulham! I don't think we should play Carroll cause we end up just hoofing it down to him all the time. yesterday we was passing more and we actually got some goals! And shelvey should have got 2 more as well

So you wouldn't rest Gerrard and Suarez, and perhaps Agger, ahead of the FA Cup final?! I bloody would and you're mad if you think they should start!

Kieran.

To be honest I was talking in general but I would still start them up then take them off around 70th min we still need to try and win our premier league games because of we ain't careful we may go to the bottom half of the league.

Next match something like:

reina
kelly, carra, coates, aurelio*
spearing, henderson
downing maxi
kuyt, carroll

subs: doni, skrtel, flanagan, robinson, coady/jonjo, sterling/bellamy, suarez

Glen, Martin, Daniel, Jose
Jordan, Stevie, Jonjo
Craig/Dirk Maximiliano

Liverpool fans so hard to believe. I find it absolutely ridiculous that people criticise suarez. The lad is pure class and is the best player we have. He is also the hardest working player we have and us giving everything for the team. Fans need to stop criticising him or risk driving him out the club and lose the best player we have had for a long time.

Neilp

The only ones critising him are not real supporters, probably blue noses or mancs on here causing some aggro...ignore the zombies, Suarez is brilliant and everyone knows it !

I personally think it's rather hilarious that a certain ED immediately puts the mockers on any of our top targets when mentioned by posters. So sad and petty. {Ed002's Note - Why don't you share with us the list of players who are going to sign for Liverpool that I have put the "mockers" on instead of being an anonymous troll? Cavani is this? Neymar? Aguero? Messi? Coentrao? Torres? Ronaldo? Come on, help us out.}

You need to realise that your fantasy football team ain't gonna come true. Either grow up and realise who we can and can't get or don't come on here.

I think the Ed perhaps is trying to help many come back down to earth because they clearly must be high. We will not sign 8 40M pound superstars so why bother posting that we are. The best thing to do is listen to those on the site that have a record of having good information (in which my never come to through) and wait for the window and hope we do good business.

People clearly dont like the realistic eds haha no player in the modern game playing regular football in the champions league and challenging domestically is going to come to anfield, neymar has already said he wants to stay in brazil atleast 2 more years, messi not even explaining, coentrao again not even explaing ronaldo the same, aguero nearly 1/4 mill a week no further explanation needed, torres never will return, soldado happy in valencia main striker earning 100k plus a week which would need a hell of a lot more here for tax reasons, gaston ramirez, already has a deal agreed with napoli, higuain is on over 150k a week in spain playing for the about to be crowned champions, would need 200k here never gonna happen, javi martinez rejected real and barca, like munian, llorente, susaeta all of them reject clubs because they have no intention of ever leaving bilbao, and all would cost 30 million plus, minus susaeta but still talking 20 million, bilbao have repeatedly accepted 35 million euro plus offers on martinez and llorente only for them to not even travel and just say they are happy in bilbao, luuk de jong another 'top target' also dortmunds top target the german champions with a load of cash and the offer of champions league, we need to be realistic, players like krasic would be ideal, has experience still only 26, under 10 million and far better than what we have got, plus available, marko marin went chelsea, maybe a bit out of our league at the moment but still 12 million initial fee is a snip, jelavic and cisse, both under 10 million, yet cisse is 1 goal ahead of suarez this season in the league and jelavic one behind yet both only came in jauary and played not even half the games suarez has, thats not me saying suarez is crap btw just we need to stop thinking media big names and actually looking at good players who improve the squad,

reina
enrique
agger
vertonghen - 8 million
van der wiel - 6/12 million
downing
gerrard
aquilani / siem de jong - 5/10 million
krasic - 8 million
suarez
loic remy - under 16 million

that would be a perfect starting eleven selling no one to add depth to the squad and challenge at the most sell carrol see if someone will pay 15 mill for him n see if you can get 5 for kuyt means you have a max possible net spend of 30 million yet dramatically improve the team

So, I'm gathering that you would rather the Eds lie to you and/or tell you what you wana hear? It's because of people like you that makes other fans think LFC are deluded! Having a go at the Eds....honestly! Smh! So ungrateful you are!

K. Bennett

I think the eds give a great honest opinion, if you dont like it dont read it.
keep up the good work eds. {Ed002's Note - We do but sadly some don't want that.}

So Lucas seems to be out of your plans too? The player we have seriously missed the most imo, yet in most peoples "fantasy" teams, doesnt get a look in. DM is the most underrated position, and we have potentially one of the best in the world at it if he can put this injury behind him and continue the progress he has made the last few seasons.

Find this hard to believe , out on a matchday night, they were staying in a hotel so would have been hard to get out . The groin injury is more likely

In all honesty I came on here this morning expecting to see Pool fans being buoyant about Suarez and looking forward to next season! We all know how bad our league form has been but if we win the Cup next week then that's 2 out of the 3 comps we entered this season! Give our players and manager a break, we have had enough critiscm through the knob head journos!

Carroll has hit some form currently 2 winning goals in 3 games, if he went out and got drunk who cares, he will be rightly punished if it's true and let's face it today we didn't need him with Suarez hitting form! Get behind Carroll he is our player and we have had a better win rate with him in the team than out! Fact! Who cares if he doesn't score as many as RVP, he has won a trophy this season which is more than RVP has ever done at Arsenal and we are LFC personal accolades count for nothing if the team fails ie Arsenal!

Just stay positive or get off our true Red fans pages!

Ok fellow reds, we're nearing that time of the year again. Yes thats right, silly season is almost upon us! And what would a transfer window be without the transfer rumour that never dies? So i'll be the first to post it, Aguero to LFC is on. Believe me, Dalglish has met with City representatives and a fee in the region of 45 million pounds is believed to be enough to land the argentine star. However City may look to try and broker a deal which could see Suarez make the move across to the Etihad stadium in return. Sorry eds but i just couldnt help myself. ;)

One of ur so called 'fans' posted this joke on the Arsenal page. Please make sure that he takes his daily pills, kid is going bonkers.

Well your only as good as the medals in yer pocket , suarez is in his 1st full season in the prem, imagine when hes van persie age !!!!!!!years to come , hes more impact at a quicker time , halfway line hero suarez is
5gold stars

2 completely different players..... Suarez won't score 20 penalties a season!

Comes down to both are strikers, van persie scores lots of goals, suarez is still adapting, its the first time rvp has been prolific goals wise too, but tbh suarez only has 11 in the league, thats one less than papis cisse and one more than jelavic who havent even played half as many games and came from different leagues in january, so i suppose adapting cant really count, but suarez will be better than rvp if he stays just not now

29 Apr 2012 01:46:56
Anti Suarez posters.....please give it a rest! Gosh, some people are never happy! What does he have to do, score from space?!
If you didn't notice, we won today! This time next week we could have a second trophy!

I was gonna say more but its not even worth it. Shout out to the Eds, Macca and the positive fellow Reds

Some of those finishes yesterday were outrageous

5gold stars you must have found the red tinted glasses that where left lying round my house, seriously luis is quality but not even close to being the best in the prem yet

Exactly! First he doesn't score enough and now he is in form.....he's the spam of the earth! I'm guessing if he scores the winning goal in the final.....there will be droves of people deciding to not support LFC anymore! Smh!

suarez is the best front man in the prem jonjo did well but how many people think if suarez had a bit of luck hed be well over the 20 goal mark in the league and the old rearguard still clicking in carra and gerrard and to be fair i dont think weve had that many bad performances but in other games the bounce of the ball hasnt gone our way but for some reason fans are dissing the team but for some reason i find my self questioning some fans and i underline some but the atmosphere at anfield is adding to the players insecurities i have never seen anfield get on players backs as i have in the last 2 yrs i sure hope wer not tuning out like our neighbours up the road who have a bigger stadium but no true fan just a point i have to make liverpool till i die
livlim

Punctuate, lad!

A front mans job is to score goals, he only has 11 in the league with 3 games left, sure he miss 6/7 in total ( he missed 2/3 cup games) cisse has 12 already at newcastle, jelavic has 10, im not even getting into the likes of rooney rvp and aguero compared to luis, he needs to be far more prolific to be considered the best front man in the prem, but hes showing glimpses atleast

Carroll was rested because he had a small knock. He should be back for Fulham and i hope he pairs with Suarez upfront a few times before the end of the season.

I hope carroll doesn.t play next saturday, yesterday's formation with maxi taking downing's place & even though he had a good game spearing for jonjo just because jay is more defence minded.we can hit chelsea on the break with the speed of bellamy, suarez, maxi& gerrard bombing on,if carroll plays it seems to slow are game right down .i'd save carroll to come on late in the game if needed

21 years old Luuk de jong £12.5m -14m
24 years old rasmus elm around 6m -8m
24 years old markel susaeta around 6m -8m
21 years old gaston ramirez £16.5m (release clause)
26 years old Jackson Martinez £6-8m

around 55m

funds who knows.....maybe 30m(cups + kit deal) plus player sales and taking into consideration that we didn't buy anyone in the winter transfer window.

thats 2 strikers, 2 wingers although ramirez is more attacking midfield and 1 cm. oh and a decent back up for left back is also likely.

possibly two Mexican: Hector Hernandez and Marco Bueno that both play for Pachuca C.F and ed do you know if we are scouting 19yd Mexican erick torres by any chance?

I actually like rasmus elm, great range of passing

Hector Herrera, perhaps you are talking about! :)

Rasmus elm didnt make it after a few trials with everton and newcastle last season, gaston ramirez has already agreed a deal with napoli, susaeta double your figures, then try persuade him to leave bilbao, malaga and their millions failed last summer and barca failed to get both him and munian in january as neither want to leave, only realistic one there is luuk de jong but hes meant to be dortmunds number 1 choice to replace lewondowski, they have money and champions league and challenge for the title

Oppps think you forgot about FFP rules!

What are the chances of Carlos Fierro and M'Baye Niang?

17 years old each and getting lots of games and goals. In 10 years they would be insane together, do the Ajax way and breed them together from a young age. Hence there ridiculously good Youth academy {Ed023's Note - I think you have Football Manager fever}

Gerrard: Suarez one of the best in the world...

Hmmm, not sure whether I value his opinion:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/aug/10/joe-cole-messi-gerrard-liverpool

That was an opinion before the fact but he has seen what suarez can do in the cold light of day and tell me u being a manc or a chelsea supporter u would not have him on ur team
livlim

Is that the interview he compare's Joe Cole to Messi?

What you mean - is cole not better than messi?
