Deano95 in response to. .
There's no f. .k. g takeover on the horison and that's that. What would Dalgeish be doing talking about sharing a ground with Everton if there was any chance of a real takeover being near.
Jesyus Christ maybe we should all jusrt start wearing blue - & this is the man some of ye wanted as our manager

Either your that fed up with it all. ( The takeover and recent results and performances ) or your keyboard is dyslexic maybe your Pis*ed . . but please spell King Kennys name correct

If we don't get a take over and the transfer funds that should come with it i fear for this club in january there will be offers for reina and gerrard all tho both should stay but torres looks p* * d off with the lack of movement and i fear he might be tempted to move.
if we do get cash are first signings should be.

SERGIO AGUERO. help take scoreing pressure off torres and the two have a great friendship and understanding from there madrid days.

JUAN MATA. .refuseing to sign contract extension and looks to want to move the left side answer.

SCOTT PARKER. .anchor man we need in centre

GARY CAHILL. . man to replace carragher who looks slow but still can do a job

PHILIP LAHM. . leftback replacement

we will need 80 million to get these but buy selling
AURELLIO. KYRIAGOS. DEGAN. RODRIGUEZ. BABEL. AND. POULSON WILL BRING FUNDS IN

Regarding the groundshare, alot of people's arguments are "what colour would it be" "i hate everton NEVER!" "they could'nt afford it" "economically it makes sence". . what everyone is forgeting is supporting your team is an identity, its who you are, anfield (or new stadium) is OUR! home, Its like all the family coming round for sunday lunch! a groundshare takes away that identity when you start inviting all the neighbours

Why do Tony Evans of The Times, Saggers and Collymore of Talksport, never mention that the majority our debt was caused by H&G. We are not Portsmouth. We have not spent on players we couldn't afford. They mislead their listeners by not stating this and not pointing out how tradtionally and conservatively the club was run pre Feb. 2007.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
We were very conservative. I remember in the 1980s our Record transfer fee was 900k on Mark Lawrenson from Brighton. This lasted 6-7 years before we signed Peter Beardsley for a British record fee of £1.9m in 1987. We were always conservative with our transfer spending whilst Utd, Forest, Spurs, Arsenal, Man City and Wolves regularly spent over or near £1m in the 1980s. It was only in the 1990s that purse strings were loosened and were spent heavily on poor players like Paul Stewart, Mark Walters and John Scales,

Fellow reds.
perhaps it is because i'm from the old school but i do not hate everton, in fact if they were second to us every year i'd be made up. if they were in european cl i'd be made up, as long as we were too. it was great back in the day when we ruled the league and the cups for a spell. for those days again. .anyway despite this i do not think the ground share will work in the long run sadly.
if you look at munich, rome and other places it has been tried it nearly always fails. if one team does well and the revenues and costs go up while the other falls behind it will be crippling for the other team to meet payments for rent or outstanding construction costs, advertising contributions and the general expense of running an elite club on less acheivement revenue. plus i think we all enjoy going to our own ground on match day, seeing the red seats the memorials to our respective greats and our lost loves (jf96). footie is about identitiy and we should all keep to our own its how clubs grow into themselves and the fans are the biggest part that.
How does ed feel or any readers?
our time will come again. .both of us.
Joycie. {ed's note - I feel the same as you, I love the banter with those members of my family who support the Blues, would love them to be second to us every year, but there is no way I want to share a stadium with them. Those clubs that do share one are always looking to change that as soon as the finance is available, it just doesn't work.}

The people who call Stan Collymore a Liverpool Legend are the same people who post on here that Liverpool will be signing Ronaldinho as our new forward, bringing Pele out of retirement for our No. 10 shirt and that we are sacking Hodgson to replace him with Johann Cruyff. Numpties! He failed at Liverpool and he regrets it.

28 Sep 2010 19:21:53

We need new owners and I believe this will happen within the next two weeks (just a whisper I have heard from a good friend who works for Barclays) - However, regardless if this happens or not, Hodgson needs to get the team performing, and quickly.

Joe Cole has been a hugely disappointing so far, drifting in and out of games and, at this moment in time, we cannot afford to be carrying a player -therefore time to start him on the bench and bring him on as an impact player, if required.

Johnson has been poor defensively, and we need to look to push him forward (just as John Aldridge has suggested), and pop Kelly in behind him - Kelly is strong, quick and good in the air and I believe Johnson would be a massive hit in the right midfield / winger role - Good crosser of the ball and can score goals.

Also, Poulsen looks well off the pace and I for one would bring back Lucas - I know 99% of you on here dislike him, but he will offer the stability we need

The annoying person Tony Evans of The Times is on Talksport tonight after 8pm talking about what Mark Saggers (another annoying numpty) called "the growing crisis at Anfield". Throw in Stan Collymore, the co presenter, and expect one big slagging off of Liverpool. Just wait for more apocalyptic 'mutterings' from Evans about the future of Liverpool. {ed's note - so why bother to listen? In fact why bother to even mention Talksh*te at all? It is the radio equivalent of a tabloid newspaper - it never lets the truth get in the way of a good story!}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I don't know much about Tony Evans except he writes for the Times (Rupert Murdoch/ Anti Christ) newspaper and is a so called LFC fan.

But i f*cking hate Stan (beat the women) Collymore!

Anyone else hate him as much as me?

Blair Mayne YNWA {ed's note - me, I detest the, I hesitate to use the word man with regards to him.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Why do Evans, Saggers and Collymore never mention that our debt was caused by H&G. We are not Portsmouth. We have not spent on players we couldn't afford. They mislead their listeners by not stating this and not pointing out how tradtionally and conservatively the club was run pre Feb. 2007.

Saggers clearly has an 'big issue' with Livepool. Never says anything positive.

Tony Evans was clearly 'had' by someone, when he went so massively for the Huang bid. Stating it was the only bid. Last week Purslow suggested those who show their interest in LFC the loudest should really be discounted as viable bidders.

I hand it to Collymore he does research thing well. But never gives callers the chance to put their point of view, esp. if it is opposed to his. He can get quite nasty and vociferous with some callers.

On Collymore and Liverpool, i feel he rewrites football history. His career at Liverpool is masked because he played in Sky Sports best game ever (Liverpool V Newcastle 4-3 in 1996). His first season was good, striking up a formidable partnership with Fowler. But apparently he never mixed with fellow players socially. He carried on living mostly in Cannock. By the time his second and final season at Anfield started he had fallen out with Roy Evans and other player (read Fowler's book), regularly missing training and subsequently not been picked for a large percentage of that season. He was sold to Villa in May 1997 for £7m and made several 'digs' aimed at the club and players (I think he was the one who first used the term 'Spice Boys'). His career went downhill fast from then on including the reported off field incidents.
It really bugs me when Liverpool fans call his shows and call him a 'Liverpool legend' because they have just watched 'that match' on Sky The Premiership Years or on DVD. Ultimately he was quite a good player who wasted his chance at Liverpool to become a very good player. AND I THINK HE REALLY KNOWS THIS. {ed's note - it is the way he acted while a player at the club that has led me to hate him. Anyone that thinks he is any kind of legend of the club really has no clue about his time there. He was probably more responsible than anyone on the pitch for holding the club back. He was disliked by more than just players at the club, I have never met anyone who was there while he was with a good word for him.}

Groundshare.
Think about it, there would have to be two separate Trophy rooms. One for us the size of St George's Hall and the Bitters could use the broom cupboard.
Its never going to happen.

Best thing i heard all day , and that is that john aldrigde told lfc website , that he wants to see kelly at rb , johnson at rm , and kuyt behind torres , with cole on left and gerrard and merieles in the middle

Why on earth would you want to play Johnson at right midfield? Just because he`s no good at defending? he is no good in midfield either, watch him fail time and time again to get crosses in when he actually finds himself in a good position. If he decides to run at someone he gets so close he gets confused and looses it anyway. Best of sticking him in the ressies and teaching him how to defend properly. unfortunately

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Absolutely ridiculous to pay £18m for Johnson. I realise this fee included add ons and parts of the contract relating to the sale of Crouch to Portsmouth, but we did not need to spend that much on a right back. Like Insua, he gives away silly fouls in areas where fouling wasn't necessary - half way line, and even worse there are rumours that he is on a salary of around £138,000 per week. I think Rafa was playing club politics again with this deal.

28 Sep 2010 18:18:07

Please stop this talk of a shared stadium, we have been seperate from the start we can't join now it wouldn't work.If we can't afford a new stadium then stay where we are, and get rid of the yanks and see what happens.Kenny Dalglish is a massive figure for us but I fear if he starts talking about sharing a stadium it might gather momentum.You cannot put a football club like Everton with a club like Liverpool there is no comparison.It would create more annimosity between fans.
p.s John Aldridge is spot on about Glenn Johnson he is a right winger or wing back rather than a right back.

Fans just a thought but everyone keeps saying that new owners will wait untill the club has been reposed by rbs so they can get the club for 250mil instead of what the yanks want ,
but we no what bankers are like they will no that they could sell lfc for 350mil or more it would make the bank a tidy profit but would anyone part with 350mil or more for the club you could not blame the bank for wanting to make a mark up as they would effectively be the owners , the funny thing is that rbs have more money out of lfc through intrest and fines than h&g have so why would they not try to make more thoughts

Looks like Sportingo are reporting that H&G have requested all people who have submitted bids to re-submit. . .

What that means I have no idea, however could it be that they are lowering the price? Or is it just another delaying tactic?

"Why not just ground share with the scum UTD then. If you don't have your own ground then your not even a football club anymore."

Does this statement include Inter & AC Milan? They both seem to be doing alright. .

If the difference between getting a good owner or not then we should be seriously reconsider the ground sharing option. I've never understood this hatred of fellow scousers - the reds & blues at my work seem to get on well enough anyway. .

All you Liverpool fans going on about not wanting to share with Everton. What makes you think Everton would want to go that low as share with you lot.

28 Sep 2010 15:56:39

Nothing is clicking at the moment. Hopefully we will expose the holes in behind blackpool rather than be another victim of their attacking football. And Napoli seems like a very hard game to me. I'm not sure what our right formation is at the moment we seem to have weaknesses in all areas.

We are always on the back foot, so I would maybe take the emphasise off our defence, go three at the back and play a shedload of midfielders - prob a bad idea, but our formation now aint working.

On another note, I hate to see Michael Owen in a Manc shirt. I think Rafa missed a trick with Owen. Yes he's injury prone. But he's a natural finisher. When you have no strikers at all, surely a good striker (even if injury prone) is a useful addition to the squad. Owen was desperate to come back afterall. ( Owen will always score more than Ngog, if given the opportunities).

Why not just ground share with the scum UTD then. If you don't have your own ground then your not even a football club anymore. Everton should share with the scum, they're about as close to them as you can be. Anyone suggesting a ground share just show the lack of understanding & contempt they have for football fans in the first place.

If Everton couldn't find 30 million a few years ago, to get a stadium at Kings Dock, where the hell are they going to get 200 million from for a shared stadium with us.

take it from there profits. .! ha HA(evil laugh)

Watching the re-run of manure vs Liverpool. I wish we would have won the game. We are just 2-3 signings away from being a world class team. A striker, winger who can play both the wings and a monster epl proven CB.what you think Ed.? {ed's note - I think we are a bit further away than that from a world class team, but just a signing and a lot of confidence away from a top four side.}
i don't think so Ed, im watching liverpool vs arsenal now. we played very well with 9 men for most of the 2nd half. Mascherano along with Stevie and Meireles would have made the difference in the engine room this season but alas, he's gone.But Dont forget we were favourites to win the EPL and CL just couple of years ago.

I'm a Liverpool fan from Ireland, just a question for the ed, do we really need a new stadium to be built right now? I know our stadium has around 42, 500 capacity, but my argument is we have 2 main sponsors, Standard-Chartered and Adidas, if we could get 3 or 4 more large sponsorship deals on board it could b worth around £100 million a year towards the club, i just feel that potential owners could be put off paying for a £500 million 60,000/ 70,000 seater stadium. . I feel if Hicks and Gillett had've brought in proper sponsorship the club wouldn't be in the position it's in and alot of things could've been different between the owners and supporters. .
Rocky {ed's note - the club desperately needs a new stadium and the revenue it provides if we are not to be left behind by the rest.}

Personally i think that Woy is too soft for this job we need someone at the helm that is fiery and gets a rise out of the squad and gets the passion and belief back into the team. we have a good squad were 2 wingers a strong striker and a commanding centre half away from the top.

THE firm which helped the hated American owners buy Liverpool has joined the fight to get them out.

Inner Circle Sports are in talks with Kop chairman Martin Broughton to assist in an Anfield takeover.

The New York-based investment bankers are one of the six parties currently negotiating with Barclays Capital as the Merseysiders seek an end to the boardroom turmoil.

Inner Circle does not have the funds to buy Liverpool directly, but their vast contacts could bring in investment.

In 2007 they introduced Tom Hicks and George Gillett to former Kop chairman David Moores.

Inner Circle, run by Robert Tilliss, the former MD of JP Morgan Chase Bank, list Real Madrid, the Boston Celtics and the New York Mets among their former clients and played a key role in Wembley Stadium.

As yet, no official offers for Liverpool FC have been made.

The New York-based private equity firm Rhone offered £110m for a 40 per cent stake last March.

BarCap have also made fresh contact with Chinese investor Kenny Huang to see if his bid can be resurrected and the ruling family of the United Arab Emirates maintain an interest.

Liverpool are also generating takeover interest from the Middle East.

The main issue does not seem to be a lack of buyers, but a lack of willingness to meet the asking price.

Hicks now accepts his £600m valuation is not likely but he and Gillett will not drop to £300m.

Blackstone/ GSO have ended refinancing talks with Hicks following a furious fans' reaction to Sport of the World's story last week.

GSO were hit with 7,000 emails in 24 hours and every bank on Wall Street is a potential target for Liverpool fans if they talk to Hicks.

Senior players such as Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina are growing increasingly agitated at the club's situation.

Hicks must pay back £200m of his debt to the Royal Bank of Scotland on October 1.

If both the owners default, the RBS has the option of taking full control of Liverpool FC over the next few weeks without taking the club into administration.

The non-owners on the Anfield board would welcome such action, allowing them to pursue a buyer at a price nearer to the RBS debts of £282.4m.

A Kop spokesman said: "The sale process continues and the board's priorities remain unchanged."

Redman, You need an alker saltzer and a kip. Are you seriously saying that 'losing your way in football' is the mantra that we should now follow. That way madness lies, and we certainly wouldn't be needing a fifty thousand seater then, would we? The year is 2010 by the way. With your plan the press would drop us, there would be no tv money, which is the only reason the big money people are interested in football, and we really would slide, its business not personal as some bloke said.

Redman, get your head out of your ar* . If we are to survive in the big scary world that football has become then we have to consider everything. You can't ignore King Kennys incite. This isn't the 70's or 80's anymore. We need to be proactive in all areas of the club. What we can't have is the situation where, ten years from now, we could be sitting in the Championship and saying 'We should have done it'. We are already in danger of falling further off peoples radar, we are no longer seen as a force. That situation has taken ten years and in that time, as Thommo said, we've lost a generation of supporters worldwide. Think the worst, and start your fry up.

I'm very tired of the takeover speculation and see all this " believe me its done " nonsense patronising now!
I was given information from what has been a quality source in the summer break which didn't come to fruitation which has led me to believe that nobody has any idea what is going on at anfield.
All i can say is that i hope Hodgson can turn the corner with this squad as they appear to have no understanding of one another. What has happened to the time where teams looked at the fixtures list and thought, bloody hell we have Liverpool this weekend we're getting battered.
Now it appears teams are thinking there is three points to be had here!

Maybe its time to just concentrate on the football, unless somebody on this site can come up with the money, could you imagine players reading this site, they may lose all confidence in there futures, if hope is all we have, then lets have buckets full of hope, its going to be difficult, but we know this, so have faith in the team, trust the manager and the board, and above all else BELIEVE! Redington.

Just heard a rumour:
Everton are going to be sponsored by Pampers next season "Pis* upfront, nothing of note in the middle & shi* at the back".
Makes sense eh?!
Feel free to copy and paste to Bitter's banter / rumour page - i can't be bothered myself.

I'd like to perform an experiment.
Dont know if its been done on here before?!
Very simple:
If any Liverpool FC player / staff / employee etc comes on here and sees what we say - can you please ask the other players to celebrate in a specific way next time they score a goal. Doesn't matter who scores the goal or who does the celebration. I'd like the five finger salute myself to be the celebration but would welcome any ideas (but needs to be finalised asap). The whole point of this would be that i would like the players to know that we are aware of their efforts to get things right, that we're right behind them & most importantly to let them know that we know the press are on their backs right now and we just want them to play their own game and ignore all the negative press and just believe in themselves. So the five finger salute is what i want with the player counting out 5 - pointing at each individual finger one at a time so we can clearly see it. Probably a bit of a mad idea but they need our support right now more than ever & i'd like them to know they have it.

This is for anyone who missed Monday's banter page.
Seems like there has been a big swing in favour of doing this on the rumour page so am just going to go with the five finger salute idea.
So any player / staff member / anyone with contacts within the club please ask the players to try the above. I think the fans would really appreciate knowing the players listen & understand their frustrations & that they also understand they can count on us to support them through these tough times as mentioned on the above post.
If not, then at least i tried & i can live with that!
Cheers,
Irish Kev

Just my opinion so feel free to disagree, (i'm sure u will), I get the feeling that we are about to click into place, there have been sign's of it in all games this season, in the last 20 mins against Sunderland we strung them up, they couldn't move. This proves we can do it. Just got the feeling that very soon it's all gonna click into place and somebody is gonna get a hiding. . . .oh dear we play Everton soon. Can anybody else see it or have i got sh*t in my eye's. any comment Ed?

Sooty {ed's note - I feel the same, I have seen improvements in every match, tiny little steps, but good signs nonetheless. Hopefully it will click sooner rather than later.}

i feel the same. we've been getting progressively better. kuyt was a good boost too and i really couldn't believe and still can't that people would want to cash in on him. play 442 for utrecht i say and play nando. he needs goals
