Where’s Ron Keague? today’s win was a relief but the last week without his optimistic posts has been a bit of a struggle.

Just been letting the recent tension cool down a bit

Great result today, hope Dejan is OK 🤝.

29 Oct 2017 01:24:28
I missed the match except for the few mins when we got first goal.

Question to ed's -

Why was Wanger so naive by opting to play an open game aginst us?

was he paying back his friend?

every team and their *** knows that the first option aginst us is to play a closed game by giving possession to us and counter.

Anyway got 3 points for a change.

cheers.

{Ed001's Note - they were not open. Far from it.}

29 Oct 2017 04:58:44
Huddersfield sat deeper than any team I’ve seen at Anfield, they played exactly the same way as Burnley, Southampton and every other non top 6 team that visits Anfield.

28 Oct 2017 21:17:36
I've always been a massive fan of Danny Sturridge. I was calling for us to sign him long before he joined. I am chuffed he got his 100 today.

That said we looked very unimaginative today in the first half. It reminded me of the Newcastle game, which I think was our worst performance of the season even though we didn't lose. Danny started that game too. Liverpool look much better with firmino in that false nine position. Danny used to be great on the wing, I would be trying to push him in that direction if I were his manager as we seem to lack options when he plays cf.

28 Oct 2017 21:12:16
I'm pleased for Danny Sturridge, I've always been a fan of his. I was calling for us to sign him at least twelve months before he joined.

That said, we looked really flat today in the first half. I think our worst performance of the season was at Newcastle when Danny also started. I don't think it's a coincidence, we just don't look great with him spreading our attack.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

28 Oct 2017 21:18:46
I think he needs more game time, who knows it may work out, it may not. Starting him today was one of them for me, Solanke would be before him for me BUT Sturridge I was chuft for, he could've got a couple of goals, I'm hoping it can be a turn around for him and he can start smashing them in, he's certainly far from top notch at the moment but with more minutes maybe he can pull it together again? one can only hope.

28 Oct 2017 22:44:23
His post match interview sums him up as a professional for me. He is great with the youngsters and wanted/ wants to be here and fight for his place. Great for him to reach 100 and i hope he can find his best form again. Regardless of injuries he has been fantastic for us and let's not forget it!

29 Oct 2017 03:16:57
I still have a lot of faith in Sturrige. It seems to me that he had few years where his injuries were never sorted and he got rushed back. Now it feels like they have sorted them and it might take this year to actually build him back up physically. Ed 001 has talked about the time it takes to recover from long term injuries. As an example, look at Falcao. It took him a few years once he recovered to get back. I've watched him a few times this year and it looks like he is back physically. He seems to have close to the same pace as he did. I hope the same for Danny.

{Ed001's Note - Falcao is really looking good this season. That is a very good point.}

29 Oct 2017 03:57:13
You also had a lad who tried again at the top teams in a fast league and failed. Moved to a slower league and returned to his old self.

Sturr8dge can still have a pr9ductive career but not in England or at least at the top of the game here.

{Ed001's Note - he failed at Man Utd and Chelsea because he was still recuperating while playing for them. That is the time he needed support from the managers and backing, but he was just discarded instead. Nothing to do with a slower league, it was having a manager who believed in him and allowed him to play his way back to his best.}

29 Oct 2017 07:05:43
I’d love to see Sturridge back to his best, I personally feel we need a proper striker to put our chances away and be in those positions in order to do so. That’s exactly where Sturridge was and so he capitalised on Huddersfield mistake and scored. I was delighted he scored.

Most of the top sides have a striker.

City - Aguero
Spurs - Kane
United - lukaku
Chelsea - Morata.

28 Oct 2017 18:57:09
3-0 got to happy ish. Lallana, mane and couts to come back in. arguably all will start so hopefully things can only get better.

Up the reds.

28 Oct 2017 20:15:43
Hopefully no new injuries from the internationals, we'll be a lot stronger then. Anyone any idea when Clynes back?

28 Oct 2017 20:54:30
After the international break i would guess. a week or two after Lallana and Mane.

28 Oct 2017 18:11:45
Great win for the U17 and great match to watch. A thumbs up for the FA, not something I say very often, for the introduction of St George's Park. I've been fortunate to attend several FA courses there and it's a terrific set up. They said when it opened it might take 10 years for it to make a difference, 5 years in English football seems to be reaping the benefits.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

28 Oct 2017 17:02:10
From 2.0 down the English kids have took the lead 3.2 with our fella scoring AGAIN showed some good character coming back from 2.0 in a final fair play to them.

28 Oct 2017 17:19:01
4 2 now. The cup is ours!

This is the second world cup we have won this year! Oops 5 2 now.

Does this mean in five years we will be winning the world cup proper?

28 Oct 2017 17:26:22
5-2 in the end great comeback from them.

28 Oct 2017 17:27:06
We obviously have some really good players at youth levels that's 2 WCs in 18 months I believe. The issue we have now is will the top clubs let these players thrive by integrating them into their first teams, the evidence over the years says unfortunately they don't.

28 Oct 2017 17:41:54
A hell of a lot of money has gone into youth football in england, we have to make sure these lads get their chance in the Pl. Liverpool doing our bit by giving dom solanke a platform. I'd like to see him start.

They need to make the next step and the fa has to help somehow. There is genuine hope that we can win something at senior level in the next decade.

28 Oct 2017 17:56:25
Someone should start an agency called "England Only" or something. Where agents are dedicated to placing young English players at big clubs or premier league clubs. It would only take a few stars like kane rashford lallana to sign up and pave the way. The influx of foreign players has diluted the England set up. It's great for football at club level but we are consistently underachieving at international level. I think the future looks bright though. I don't think there would be so much money put into grass roots football if there were no plan to bridge that with pro football.

28 Oct 2017 18:45:36
They are already at big clubs, they just don't get the games they need. The young lad Foden looked a real talent throughout the u17 tournament and he has loads of time to develop but how do you get regular starts as a teenager at Man City. I don't know what the answer is but I would imagine it's not lost on them that most promising teenagers are not making it at the highest levels within the top 6 clubs set ups.

28 Oct 2017 19:07:37
OK good point. I have a better idea. We should have Liverpool B or man city B team as their own team like they do in Germany or Spain. Relegation and promotions, cup runs. That's got to help.

{Ed002's Note - you do already - but these are kiddies. There are multiple leagues and the B league for England is the under 23s.}

28 Oct 2017 21:20:39
But I would have the B teams playing in the same league system as the A teams. So you could have man city A and B in the same league. It would give the reserve players a much better platform to get TV experience.

28 Oct 2017 21:46:35
So you could have man city A and B in the same league
=====
How will this work out? so they will have to play each other, how can you make sure one of them won't let the other win by margin so they can have a league advantage.

28 Oct 2017 23:04:57
One of the major problems in modern football begins with the fans. Fans want immediate success which doesn’t allow youth players the chance as they are too big a risk for managers to play them and unless they hit the ground running at senior level they are criticised heavily, managers are then forced to take them out of the firing line for a bit and any future opportunities are hampered by previous performances. It has to be said that chairmen and the media are just as guilty. The money aside, I would not fancy being a young player today trying to make my mark.

28 Oct 2017 23:28:35
NorthYorkshireRed true mate, sad but true.

29 Oct 2017 01:29:54
It works in other leagues Roy. The B teams are usually in the lower leagues. It's a good point though, I don't know how they get round it. I guess they trust the professionals.

{Ed001's Note - it doesn't work though, they just do not have as many professional teams elsewhere. The idea of B teams is sickening and is why the rest of them struggle so badly to get the same level of competition in their leagues. Big teams getting yet another advantage over the smaller ones!}

29 Oct 2017 09:41:28
Can anyone tell me what “TV experience” is and what relevance it has to young players breaking into a club’s first team?

Never heard of that one! 🤔.

28 Oct 2017 17:21:51
THought the defence looked very assured today. Klavan ain't so bad, he must be the most physical cb we have and you need players like that.

Aoc looked bright off the bench again, easy win tbh but just what we expected. Might have drawn this game last season.

28 Oct 2017 17:32:33
klavan is bang average. I can't think of a good attribute he has, plus he's not exactly in his prime. maybe he used to be a good player.

28 Oct 2017 17:34:44
Wouldn’t get too carried away, we were shocking in the first half. Huddersfield posed no threat up front, they didn’t press or put us under any pressure, they just sat back.

I thought Ox and Solanke looked sharp when they came on, at least the Ox tries to beat a man as apposed to this side to side passing which were subject to in the first half.

Don’t get me wrong I’m happy with the three points but boos around the ground at half time pretty much summed things up.

28 Oct 2017 17:48:58
Lets be happy for the 3 points and the confidence boost this will give the players.

28 Oct 2017 18:04:29
Exactly kloppisakloon just trying to bring a bit of positivity. Credit where credits due Boys had a job to do and they done it. Bad performance or not its still 3 points.

28 Oct 2017 18:06:35
a welcome 3 points today but honestly huddesfeild offerd nothing mignolet had nothing to do let's see if he's picked how he copes against carrol next week and apart from scoring sturridge offerd nothing he look scared to run this could of been an oppertunity to give a. o. c Robertson and solanke a full game klopp brought the 3 of them in yet gives them hardly any game time.

28 Oct 2017 18:12:23
didnt they get a coincidence boost after the maribor game then got thumped by spurs. i agree with you hope it does give them a boost but there seems to be somethink lacking they look tied in games maybe there getting pushed to hard in training they seem to pick up a few injuries am only guessing I don't know.

28 Oct 2017 18:34:47
Wow, an average first half performance was followed by a very good second half performance, scoring 3 goals and some people still feel the need to complain and criticize certain players and the manager. I genuinely feel sorry for you.

28 Oct 2017 20:26:40
Smeg, I think that the first half performance was below average, but we needed to score the first goal, and open the game up a bit, once we did that, it gave everyone a lift, so let's be happy with a win, they are scarce right now in the league, we have payers coming back, so, let's look on the bright side of life, nearly singing there .

29 Oct 2017 09:44:50
Superred, you are a true comedy genius!

“Klavan ain’t so bad” and “. we need players like that”

Cue hysterical laughter! 🤣.

28 Oct 2017 15:45:03
Why would you let Salah who shoots straight down he middle with 90% of his shots over nil bet who has missed 1 penalty in several years? Ludicrous.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

28 Oct 2017 15:50:12
Never looked like scoring that penalty.

28 Oct 2017 15:51:37
Another gem of a decision from Klopp.

28 Oct 2017 15:51:51
was about to post the same thing, why is Salah on penalties when Milner is on the pitch. Klopp talked about how Salah took a penalty for egypt in the 94th minute. WHO CARES about that here? weird desicion. Bad penalty but he shouldn't be on them in the first place. Klopp is very unlucky atm, even a decision like that backfires.

28 Oct 2017 15:51:54
We really are poor at the moment. Why exactly when milner is on the pitch. We go backwards, sideways and repeat. Hendo is so awful.

28 Oct 2017 15:53:12
and 90% of his shots are down the middle is a complete joke btw! Arguably our best player so far this season, not the first or last penalty we'll ever miss.

28 Oct 2017 16:02:40
Imo Id sell sturridge, hendo, klavan, Moreno, lovren, can and milner. None of em good enough to play in a team that supposedly has their sights set on a top four finish or (jokingly) winning it. Proper peed off watching this.

28 Oct 2017 16:08:31
Thank the lord!

28 Oct 2017 16:23:28
He's in klopps fantasy football team (and mine) hence the pen decision ;) but who do we have who starts every game who you could rely on to score one? Either way we're winning, looked far better with an actual striker with firmino too not happy as others weren't with the mignolet and lovren decisions as I think it shows playing poor doesn't mean you'll be dropped but hey ho we are winning for now.

28 Oct 2017 16:53:53
Yeah ridiculous decision to let your top goal scorer and best player take a penalty.

{Ed002's Note - It is with Milner on the field.}

28 Oct 2017 16:54:19
lol, milner definitely should have taken that pen, klopp doesn't make it easy for himself does he.

28 Oct 2017 17:09:03
Didn’t Milner miss his last penalty for Liverpool?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

28 Oct 2017 17:26:23
I have to say I thought he would miss. Salah gets goals because of his pace and movement not because of his finishing quality. Miner should have taken it but miner ain't always going to be on the pitch so someone else needs to step up. We are Liverpool and every player on the pitch should be able to tuck penalties away.

28 Oct 2017 17:29:09
And can I just say how dissapointing it is to see people still slating klopp and hendo and Co after a three nil win. Get a life. Sort your priorities out.

Ed01 loved your article on the old Hungarian player. Liked the story about the crossbar game. I'd never heard of him I'm ashamed to admit.

{Ed001's Note - wow, you had never heard of Puskas? I am shocked. If you speak to most Glaswegians of a certain age, they will talk him up for hours. Those who were at Hampden Park for the European Cup final when he scored 4 will not shut up about it! That was about all I knew about him when I started the article admittedly, but still he is one of those names that is normally heard of, like Lev Yashin etc.}

28 Oct 2017 17:59:53
I know I feel very ignorant. His name kinda rang a bell but I couldn't point him out of a photo. Sounds like some player though! Cor.

{Ed001's Note - your parents or grandparents would probably know him because of the games against England. It was massive at the time England losing to Hungary at Wembley.}

28 Oct 2017 19:02:02
Yeah wasn't it Hungary that beat England when we set up 2 2 6 or something like that. We were well beaten and it started the whole 433 442 thing? In this country anyway? I could be well wrong. I'm not great on football history.

Who is the next legend to feature bud?

{Ed001's Note - something like that yes. England were using the WM formation (whatever that is) and Hungary used a new one, though it varies on what it is called depending on who you read or speak to.

Next legend is Pele, thought I had best do him next. Also finally started researching the Champ Man legends as well, starting with the biggest Champ Man legend of all - Cherno Samba - for a new series of articles.}

28 Oct 2017 19:47:32
Hi Ed01, sorry to be a pain but can i add three more (yes three . sorry) to your player profile list pretty please. Zico, Lothar Matthaus and Di Stefano who many say is the greatest player of all time, thanks mate.

{Ed001's Note - don't worry you weren't a pain, always glad for suggestions, though those 3 are already on the list.}

28 Oct 2017 20:45:26
Kennedy Bakircioglü would beg to differ.

{Ed001's Note - how so?}

28 Oct 2017 21:57:20
Awesome article eds, tears were close to welling at RM s profiteering from one of there all time greats, maybe the players are right to screw every last penny they can get out of clubs today.

{Ed001's Note - Real Madrid are well known for doing things like that, which is why I dislike them. They are not a community club.}

29 Oct 2017 01:49:23
Been saying to my missus for ages that she can only have a cat if we call him Ferenc. She doesn’t get it 🙄.

{Ed001's Note - you know he was a massive animal lover? As a kid he caused a few problems at home after a mouse he found on the street and adopted secretly escaped.....}

29 Oct 2017 01:46:52
Ed001,

I presume you’ve seen (if not remembered) the footage from the 1970 World Cup?

Wasn’t it David Coleman who did the commentary?
Every time he said “Pele” he said it with such excitement, it still gives me goosebumps when I hear it.

I still think his astonishing dummy against Uruguay was, IMO, the greatest piece of individual skill ever! It just showed how far ahead he was compared to other players, to be able to see, read and flawlessly execute, the GK was totally mystified as to what happened!

If only he’d scored!

El Rey Pele!

{Ed001's Note - watching a programme about them as a very small child was when I fell in love with football, rather than just being a Liverpool fan. They were amazing to watch. No one has ever replicated the quality of their attacking play since.}

29 Oct 2017 10:58:21
Can I add Sylvestre Stallone to the list. That penalty save against the Germans, last kick of the game wow.

28 Oct 2017 14:03:28
I'm on my way to the match, radio on and team news through.

Lovren starts.

I absolutely cannot believe this.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

28 Oct 2017 14:08:40
And Migs like what's that about people!

28 Oct 2017 14:12:10
so mignolet and lovern start am speechless. so grujic Robertson solanke all on the bench still no game time yet migs and lovren get picked no matter what my opinion it's a joke.

28 Oct 2017 14:13:00
Im the most rose tinted up beat glass half full kinda person. but i absolulty can't believe this. I have all the tine in the world for klopp bit this is insane. Not happy at all at this decision!

28 Oct 2017 14:13:29
Get used to it - until January. It's "common" sense.

28 Oct 2017 14:23:06
My worry with sticking with Mignolet and Lovren is that it's going to demotivate Karius and Klavan. If they can't get into the team after last week then how are they ever going to get in to team? I don't understand this blind faith.

28 Oct 2017 14:25:26
Slide tackle agreed!

28 Oct 2017 14:35:10
It's not blind faith. It's a lack of options. If he drops lovren it means using taa AND gomes. I'm not surprised there. I am surprised about the GK though. Karius is good enough, if he wasn't he wouldn't be picked for ucl games.

28 Oct 2017 14:38:22
I know he's injured atm, but Ward probably got demoralised at the beginning of the season! I still believe in Klopp, but some of his decisions are weird!

28 Oct 2017 14:39:52
does anythink Wagner will be having a quiet giggle to himself i've come to the conclusion klopp ain't going to listen to anyone-any advice or anythink at all its called BLOODY STUBBONESS.

28 Oct 2017 14:40:42
What do they have to do to get dropped? That's what scares me.

28 Oct 2017 14:42:00
If liverpool loose today Klipperty is on a very slippery slope to oblivion. I hope the players put a shift in for him.

28 Oct 2017 14:53:08
I'll still hope we win and cheer on the lads but. wow so disappointed with team selection. It beggars belief.

28 Oct 2017 14:55:14
Deluded Klopp.

28 Oct 2017 15:20:20
Klavan is as bad as Lovren so it makes no difference.

28 Oct 2017 17:32:22
3 0. Well done klopp, tactics were spot on. Team selection proved to be correct too. All round a good afternoon.

Congratulations Danny Sturridge, 100 goals ain't too shoddy for someone who has spent the last 2/ 3 years injured.

28 Oct 2017 19:15:23
I am so tired of this BS i have heard this excuse for the entirety of my liverpool supporting life. The reason we have no options is because the people who were there to make sure we did, the manager and the board, have failed us again. I'm not having it used as a crutch to lie on, klopp got us into this mess now he better fix it and give some of these younger lads a chance.

28 Oct 2017 11:45:16
Just thought I wold ask how many on here have played at the back?

I played whole career RB and up until under 18s junior side I played in did not have a clinical CF.

Not saying that it should affect Pro-footballers in the same way but can only put my own experience forward.

Playing in a side where chances are not taken puts the back 4/ 5 ( in my experience) on edge and people play with a nervous approach. In my book this increases the chances of mistakes being made
As soon as we got a CF who only took 1 or 2 chances to score then the whole attitude of the side changed- and pressure on the defense was eased.
Now, I'm not saying that our current LFC defenders don't make howlers-they have- but the side wins as a side, and lose as a side.
How many games this season could/ should we have been further in front?
This would change whole outlook of the side, give the back 5 more confidence and probably educe the amount of errors being made.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

28 Oct 2017 12:22:58
I suppose you make a fair point and if we did score more goals we would have won more games but we shouldn’t have to score say 5 to put a game to bed, we should as a top team with title aspirations be able to score a single goal and manage the game to the final whistle.
For me there is problems all over the pitch, the formation and tactics are just not working.
The goalkeeper situation is well documented so not much point in going into detail but it’s an obvious one that effects the entire team.
The problems in defence are also well documented and is also an area that needs fixing.
The midfield is all over the place, like they have no clearly defined roles, we need a defencive midfielder desperately, in the mean time Can or Hendo should try and adopt the role, but it would only be a stop gap.
The attacking three is a more difficult one, I know it seems as if they are not being clinical but they are still putting away the goals and Firmino isn’t being asked to be an out and out goalscorer so I can’t criticise him for doing the job he’s being asked to do.

So for me the most glaring problems are goalkeeper, defence and the midfield being unorganised and not having clear defined roles.
Our keeper should be dropped for karius or Ward, defence should be helped with Lovren being dropped so he can get his life back together and the midfield could be coached into having more defined roles and having more discipline.
All this leads me to Klopp who is ultimately responsible, he needs to sort this mess out and quickly, the problems are so big and so glaring a top coach should be able to fix them but he’s not.

28 Oct 2017 12:33:28
I played everywhere mate. Started as a defensive midfielder for my club, and right/ left back for my school. Then i changed position and played box to box midfielder. Then i moved up a couple of age groups and played striker. Then i moved back down to my own age group and stayed as a striker for about 4 years for both club and school. Eventually when i started playing men's football i moved to a left/ right winger (or a right wing back in a back 5 against the strongest teams in the league) .

Injuries killed my 11 a side days though so i now play as a defender or midfielder in a fairly casual 6 a side league.

So i don't really have much bias towards a particular area of the pitch. I have to be honest though, i am a nasty piece of work on a football pitch. People called me a little Roy Keane when i was younger 😂 my excuse is i can't tackle standing up!

I do see both sides of the argument though. When i was defending for my first club we had a rubbish striker so we knew that if we let in any more than 2 goals we would lose.

However when i was a striker i played for a very good team, and my school were the best in the county so i felt little to no pressure in front of goal. If i missed, it was irrelevant. I'd get 3 more chances and we'd only let in 1 or 2 goals.

At men's football though, i played for a god awful team and i was top scorer every season from right wing, and club captain. So i felt a lot of pressure on me to take my chances and it is the only team for whom i ever missed a penalty because of that pressure. You really feel as though if you miss a good chance, people will blame you. We also had a terrible keeper (i kid you not, he wore glasses during the games! ) and that made us so weak as a team. People diving in out of panic, red cards for defenders for bringing down players who were one on one with the keeper, a slow defence trying to hold a high lime because they could shoot anywhere from 30 yards and score etc.

The mental impact of good and bad team mates must be the same at all levels I'd imagine. However these guys are always under pressure because they're in the spotlight. I do agree though. Do you think Firmino would've missed the penalty against Sevilla if the score was 2-0 and not 2-1? I think not. Confidence comes from having a good team, and right now our team is shambolic at times due to a handful of individuals and therefore completely lacking in confidence.

28 Oct 2017 13:07:07
I used to play as a centre back for my school's team even though I was the shortest player on the pitch, and it really isn't an easy job when the midfield refuses to drop back and provide protection for the defence. It didn't matter that our attack was potent as we had some real talent up front because my centre back partner and I would have to deal with a counterattack every other minute due to the midfielders strolling back (in a very Matip-esque way) . From my experience, the midfield's mentality is crucial to defending, and it's the same problem with Liverpool right now. Sure, the defenders and the goalkeeper are (putting it kindly) crap, but a bad defence can be boosted by good protection from midfield (think of how Leicester's defence was exposed once Kante left) and right now, Henderson, Can and Wijnaldum (our most usual midfield three combination at the moment) have no clue what they're doing. Either they're all flying forward and leaving huge gaps right in front of the defence, or they're all sitting back and failing to provide any real service to our forwards.

I played at the back here right up to the pro leagues, never the biggest player in height but its the fight in the dog not the dog i the fight i agree more cover would be good and helpful but i more agree with something that Mark Wright (i thin it was him) said " if as a defender you can go man on man as in two centre backs marking two strikers you shouldn't be there. There is not one defender at Liverpool who i could confidently back to go one on one with a forward and defend his goal. you can have all the skill on the ball but decisions you make on and off the ball will always be the deciding factor and our boys make wrong decisions, get bullied by forwards and ball watch alot. for the past few seasons its always been set pieces and crosses we feared most as fans but now we are getting cut through the centre so maybe a more disciplined holding TWO is what is required.

I've played lb lw lf and cm. It doesn't matter. You don't need to score tonnes of goals to win games. If you don't concede you win more.

It's game day!

Sure the chaps will step up today and put in a good performance.

Positive vibes today everyone!

Hopefully. I don’t know what is next if it is just the same old.

28 Oct 2017 09:08:36
Good morning Eds/ all hope it's a good day for you all.

I think it's safe to say nobody's happy Migs will be on, again. BUT it is what it is, as annoying as it is.

Let's get them 3 points today! I have to admit though I never thought I'd be worried about playing Huddersfield or ANY team right now but I am, this is a must win game and I do think we'll win. Fingers crossed!

We seem to be a completely different team at home, only conceding one goal and only 6 shots on target against us so far this season. Considering we play the same team pretty much home and away and the same style of play i can't understand how bad we are away from home. So let's hope we continue our good home form and work out what we need to do to sort out our shambolic away form. Liverpool to win 3-0!

28 Oct 2017 12:37:17
Hope your right mate.

28 Oct 2017 13:19:13
I think you've answered your own question "Considering we play the same team pretty much home and away and the same style of play. "

Most other teams change how they play home and away. We just carry on the same way regardless of opponents, stadium, state of the game, weather, injured players, etc.

28 Oct 2017 07:30:17
If it's true mingo and lovern start today I'll be sick! A pair of cluster #%#%# is being nice!
Ward
Taa matip Gomez ar

I'd love to see him try that!
Faith in klopp is wearing thin unfortunately at this stage.

Is Ward not out injured, although whoever plays should get out support?

{Ed001's Note - yes he is out injured.}

28 Oct 2017 07:08:23
I’ve just read on here that Migs keeps he's place. You’ve all said what am thinking. This really does feel like a snowball effect that’s not going to stop till klopp gets sacked. Maybe we will win a few games but this problem with not dropping players will definitely rear it’s head again soon. Ahhh! Klopp.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

28 Oct 2017 09:34:04
He won't get sacked regardless it seems, FSG's man and all that.

28 Oct 2017 11:03:36
Why would anyone want him sacked in the first place? the man has done a great job.

28 Oct 2017 11:24:05
Big emre, I do not want klopp sacked, however I am most definitely one of those who feels he really needs to start addressing the mistakes that seem to be happening game after game after game. I wrote weeks ago that I love a lot of what klopp has done, but he most definitely leaves a great big stick in the car park for people to keep beating him with.

28 Oct 2017 12:15:29
big emre i too don't want him to be sacked (a bit early for it) . but could tou please list me 10 things Kloop has done that suggest if he has done a great job. the same question applies to anyone who wants to give us 10 points why Kloop has done wonders with liverpool so far?

28 Oct 2017 14:26:59
The man has done a great job? Really? I mean we barley finished 4th last season and are struggling badly already this season. Going by that Brendan deserves a statue for nearly winning the league? I didn't think so.

28 Oct 2017 16:46:05
Barely finished 4th last season? really? are you for real you say that as if we have a define right to be in the champions league when nobody fancied us to achieve it. And the man will take us into the top 4 again this year. Yes he's made mistakes, not getting a centre half in and being too loyal to players but it seems the club thought VVD was going to happen right down to the end right down till the end of the window, certainly Macca seemed to think so. i for one preferred the clubs approach last summer where they targeted absolute top class players and make no mistake, if Klopp goes players like VVD and Keita might not be so determined to play for Lfc.

Great read ed.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate.}

28 Oct 2017 10:42:45
Good read Ed1.
Most of the Ed’s predicting a convincing win for us, some without us conceding, not so sure about that!

28 Oct 2017 02:55:51
I love Jurgen, and have always backed him; but I can't agree with his suggestions that we are on par with City until we had a man sent off, especially considering the hiding at Spurs.

We all never stop learning, and that applies to managers of football teams, as it does to every aspect of life, but he needs to grasp this league quickly or its curtains, and he's had enough time in my opinion.

Maybe the expectation from the fans and our impatience is wearing thin, and maybe it has burdened us as it has done for twenty years, but it doesn't stop us realistically dreaming of success, especially as the so-called best league in the world is as inconsistent as it is, and someone with the apparent ability and drive that he has, he should have exploited that earlier.

For the first time I have my reservation over our owners, which does make me feel a tad guilty, and I am struggling to comprehend whether this is the mentality of a 21st century glory-hunting supporter, or one of a self-titled fanatic who has been blinkered since the inception of their reign and tenure.

Time will tell I suppose.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

28 Oct 2017 04:51:53
It's not our owners fault that our managers keep making mistakes.

28 Oct 2017 00:49:48
so klopp is saying he's confident he'll be at anfeild for many more years if results don't improve soon i wouldn't be to sure football is just a results business now we've got today's game then maribor west ham then Southampton 3 of them at home if we don't get at least 3 wins out of them klopp should start to worry just my opinion.

this is a cheeky request to MK scouser I so much enjoyed your article on our midfield, I wondered if you can do one on our defenders if you have the time mate.

I agree 🤚🏻.

28 Oct 2017 10:00:38
I can give it a go if you want! Not cheeky mate, it's a compliment to be honest!

28 Oct 2017 11:42:41
That would be great MK, thanks pal.

27 Oct 2017 23:42:00
Klopp confirms Mignolet will start tomorrow. My anger and frustration rises up another few levels. Lovren will probably start too. Klopp really is messing this up hugely. These two need to be dropped indefinitely, sick of us conceding via their mistakes. Both of them are simply not good enough, shameful to see them be in our starting 11. Thought Klopp would be ruthless, his trust in these players will be his downfall. Sick of watching us at the moment which is really sad. Also Matip should also be dropped but he's still slightly better than Klavan. Also we need a proper 6 cause hendo is out of his depth.

Believable14 Unbelievable5

28 Oct 2017 00:25:22
I really want both Karius and Ward to hand in transfer requests next January. I really feel sorry for them. They must be wondering what they have to do to get in to the starting eleven.

28 Oct 2017 02:08:45
Man they earn the right to start in the training ground maybe Ward, Karius, Gomez, Etc aren't ready to be first choice yet.
We have to trust in Klopp and who knows maybe Lovren and Mignolet can turn their form around.

28 Oct 2017 06:18:04
The problem with Lovren and Mignolet is that they probably will turn there form around for the next few games but they are NEVER consistent and that's the main issue here and are seriously prone to individual errors. For me Gomez should be slotted into centre half with TAA in at full back with Ward given a chance in goal.

28 Oct 2017 11:28:58
I understand what you’re saying vk, but the implication of that is that both ward and karius must be crap in training and if that is the case, why is karius in goal for the CL? Anywa, maybe migs will save a spot kick and we’ll all be happy today.

27 Oct 2017 23:38:52
Mignolet play's WTF. Mignolet won't be as loyal when Klopp is heading to the job centre. Absolutely fuming with that decision and no doubt Lovern will be there too! An embarrassing laughing stock we are as a club.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Klopp is standing by his decision after flip-flopping from last year. He should not have mentioned it.}

28 Oct 2017 00:22:48
Your right Ed002. It's shocking, I personally really like Klopp but his decisions like this are increasingly getting on my nerves and he needs to learn to zip it a bit more.

28 Oct 2017 09:53:24
And there is the pr9blem with managers.

JUST too stubborn. They want to do it all and know it all. God help them if they make a mistake and are forced to recognise it.

Klopp will gamble with mignolet in the hope he has a few stormers just to prove he is right, when migs could effectively cost him his job.

Why. Lose face. Hardly. He's look a genius if his man karius comes in and solidified the whole team, and became Liverpool number one. He could even take credit for that decision.
