Klopp confirms Simon Mignolet plays. Why? He has obviously never been good enough and is the main reason we concede so many with the panic he creates and lack of authority he has.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - his skills are extremely poor at dealing with this whole matter.}

27 Oct 2017 23:54:40
Mignolet MUST have some incriminating photos or info on Klopp.

There can be no other logical explanation!

28 Oct 2017 00:05:24
I think he is purposely trying get sacked.

27 Oct 2017 23:20:37
I didn't know this. Gutted to hear that, I said the other day though it wouldn't surprise me if he did put him on again, the big question is, WHY? I just don't understand why he'd keep playing him? it makes no sense to me. It's one of them situations what can be solved immediately yet it isn't happening.

27 Oct 2017 23:22:50
agreed ed002.Cant believe it actually. rewarding faliure.

{Ed002's Note - it is not rewarding favour it is him being stubborn and not losing face after changing what he said last year about his number one and changing that this year.}

27 Oct 2017 23:24:47
I can't get my head around Klopp starting Mignolet. He has been poor for a long time now not just last week. Karius must be awful altogether.

28 Oct 2017 00:40:11
in my opinion it's just pure arrogance and stubboness let's see how klopp reacts if--I DON'T KNOW HOW TO KEEP GOAL ( ( mignolet) ) makes another clanger and we get beat by his best mates side.

28 Oct 2017 01:25:28
I think he is giving these guys a chance to right their wrongs in front of the Anfield faithful. These guys are pros on huge money but also human beings who need a chance of redemption. Now this doesn’t stop us looking for replacements in Jan, but with Ward injured and Karius set to play in the CL, Migs has a chance to show us the Migs that finished last season so well. I am ever optimist and expect the forwards to finish the countless chances we miss week in week out.

{Ed001's Note - no he has bottled it. He was going to change it after the last game and now he has had time to think about it he has gone back to what has failed time and time again. Sticking by Mignolet and picking him when there are options out there is almost a sackable offence in itself.}

28 Oct 2017 01:56:31
This is extremely strange. He has a no lose opportunity to drop the players that are costing us. It’s what the fans want so if it goes wrong he doesn’t get so much stick. Plus it’s just the right managerial decision. And he chooses to stick. Can’t get my head around it. Stubbornness is my only explanation. Hopefully we get the 3 points today because if migs of lovren drop another clanger it could be disastrous for everyone. Salah for the win. YNWA.

28 Oct 2017 03:07:18
I get the impression that Mignolet can simply not handle the pressure and expectation.

Trend at the Utds and Liverpool's of this world.

{Ed001's Note - or it could just be he was a crap buy as I said at the time, every scout said it too, avoid signing him he can't keep goal and can't kick.}

28 Oct 2017 04:58:32
Any other keeper would definitely have stopped the second goal scored by Son. Mignolet doesn't have the basics of goal keeping.

27 Oct 2017 15:30:43
Ed002, i don't really know where to ask because this is more of a footballing politics question. So i understand if you cannot or don't want to answer.

Basically, could the vote in Catalonia affect La Liga and the Spanish national team in any way? Ie, will Catalonia now seek to form their own league and national team? And if they did form their own national team, would Catalonians who are capped for Spain be allowed to transfer allegiances by Fifa?

This whole thing looks very messy for Spanish football. There are quite a few teams in Catalonia and i can see the cross border games being pretty nasty clashes between fans, in the short term at least. Turbulent times ahead.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Catalonia already has a cup and localised leagues and they have a national team - and in the big scheme of things the vote is of no significance at this time. It certainly makes no difference to Spanish football.

Catalonia cannot simply declare itself independent any more so than Cornwall, Alaska or Pimlico could. To achieve full independence Catelonia would have to make provision to pay back the €50B some odd amount owed to Madrid; it has no infrastructure to collect taxes so it won't have an income or social security; it would lose financial support from Spain and would no longer be part of the EU - so it would struggle to survive.

I don't see the "cross-border" issues with fans being any more of an issue than it is now.

27 Oct 2017 20:35:28
Pimlico did secede. Stanley Holloway became its Prime Minister.

Check out a facebook group called Liverpool tickets buy/ sell.

Send them a private message (blue button on their page)

Genuine lads and you collect tickets right next to the ground (Anfield road end)

Took my lad to a few games through them including the recent 4-0 game vs Arsenal. Paid £80 per ticket.

Enjoy 👍.

Would someone be my dad for the day and take me to my first liverpool match.

27 Oct 2017 18:46:10

27 Oct 2017 23:22:27

28 Oct 2017 07:01:18
Thanks for the help guys and thanks for the good wishes, means a lot.

{Ed001's Note - good luck WS and I hope you all have a great time.}

26 Oct 2017 23:59:54
great article by MK (Adam) really enjoyed it and i think liverpool needs atleast one midfield general. Now if i may ask about another player on this site, Krychiowak. what do you guys think of him. heis on loan to Wba so should be achievable. in any case if we show the right ambition most of the listed player by Mk could be achieveable.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

27 Oct 2017 06:55:51
Cheers buddy. I like Krychowiak by the way. I'd have him in the midfield general category. When his loan deal at West Brom expires he would probably be very attainable.

My concern is that he has always looked physically dominant in Spain and France, but since coming to England he seems to have struggled initially. Almost as though he doesn't like it now there are lots of players as big and ugly as he is. Decent player though. Nothing particularly special, but he does a job.

{Ed001's Note - I think he has stood out at West Brom as being a class above the rest of the team in terms of quality.}

27 Oct 2017 08:03:31
He definitely looks too good for them Ed. I'm just waiting for him to take a game by the scruff like he did in Europe, really. Early days though. He's only played like 4 or 5 games and as you say, he's already been one of their best players. The only player i think has been better than him in their team so far is Hegazi. Where did he come from?!

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure I agree at all, did you not watch him against Leicester? Vardy tore Hegazi a new one and they had to swap him to the other side to get him away from him. He was awful that day.}

27 Oct 2017 08:42:06
Hegazy is a bit slow so not shocking Vardy got the best of him, he has been very solid for them apart from that game though. For someone coming straight from the Egyptian league i think he has done very well considering the difference in quality he faces now.

{Ed001's Note - it is the only time I have seen them play this season, so I will have to take your word for it, but he looked to have more problems than a lack of pace and it was not the pace of Vardy that was the issue. It was simply clumsiness in the challenge. He could not cope with a man attempting to take him on and immediately resorted to Skertling, sorry I mean grappling. It was a dreadful performance, he kept getting too tight and then being caught out. All he had to do was drop off and he would have been fine. Not sure why he couldn't see it.}

27 Oct 2017 08:44:56
He looks slow to be fair Ed, but for how West Brom play, he will be a good signing long term.

I didn't see the Leicester game though. That sounds worrying, but he is relatively new to this level of football.

{Ed001's Note - he looked it. Very clumsy and did not have the sense to drop off Vardy when he got beaten the first time through being too tight. Instead he just tried to get tighter. Not surprising as Pulis does not like intelligent players who think for themselves, he wants them to follow instructions exactly to the letter, which is why he bought the blank harddrive (Ollie Burke).}

27 Oct 2017 09:17:36
Skrteling! That's hilarious. Can't believe we went from crap Skrtel to crap Lovren and Matip. I mean i couldn't stand Skrtel and how bad he was at times due to him backing and backing off until the opposition was at the 6 yard box or giving away freekicks and penalties all the time hugging players! Hegazy is used to play for El-Ahly, africa's biggest club so he has rarely faced so much attacking of this quality in his life, he was at Fiorentina before but didn't get a look in, he is used to playing the Westbrom way for Egypt though under the ultra defensive Hector Cuper. I think when fully settled he will do well for them. Because the pace of the Premier League is the fastest in the world so it will take time to get used to.

27 Oct 2017 09:31:31
I've seen him 3 times this season and he has improved each time. Some of the best defenders in the league struggle to cope with Vardy, but it sounds like he's really suffered when he faced something he'd not come across before back in Africa. I'm sure it was a learning curve for him, as he's still relatively young. Hopefully for the lads sake, he does learn and develops into a decent player as he seems to have the raw tools. He'd potentially be perfect for a Man United type team who play a deep defence. No use to a team like Liverpool or City though. Expansive football would expose his lack of pace too much.

27 Oct 2017 10:37:23
You're right MK Scouser, he is the slow CB in the Egyptian national team as well, Rami Rabia is the other guy he partners who is quick and i actually rate higher than Hegazy because he is overall a very good footballer. Hegazy is 27 or 28 already i think so i think Westbrom will be his sort of level.

26 Oct 2017 23:38:51
Hello. Is it any possibility that the goal keeper coach will be sacked this season. Him is the reason why Liverpool fc have bad goalkeepers. Is it any chance too get Hyypia as new defensiv coach and Owen as new forward coach. And who will bee buy as new center back defenders in January?

Believable0 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - no, John Achterberg is very unlikely to get the sack, Hyypia is very unlikely to come in and Owen is not a coach, thankfully.}

27 Oct 2017 08:40:07
This post made me chuckle. When has a solution ever been to bring in an ex-player who has little or no proven coaching ability to sort problems out. Can you name an example of this working out, maybe one of the Eds can. Unless this post was to provoke a reaction, which if it was then well played, you got me.

27 Oct 2017 10:27:58
Well that woke me up suggesting Owen to be a forward coach lol! Why on earth would you want that haha! Yeah if that's the case piffmunda he got me too.

27 Oct 2017 11:41:07
If you want an ex player for a young coach then their are only a handful of sensible suggestions. Gerrard, Garcia, Fowler and Zenden.

(Obviously There are more well known examples such as Hyypia, Souness, Dalglish, Sammy Lee, Thompson etc but they are not going to come in realistically. Dalglish helps out anyway. )

Gerrard is already at the club doing an okay job with the u18's. Garcia and Fowler both have had short coaching stints at a lower level, and Zenden is building a superb reputation in the Netherlands.

Personally, i think our next manager after Klopp should be Pepjin Lijnders, with Critchley then stepping up to be the first team development coach, and Gerrard taking the u23's job. This will help to bring back a kind of boot room system where we can train our own coaches for the future, internally, and hopefully build some kind of consistent/ stable philosophy and style of play. Liverpool fans don't cope well with transition! So we need to make the change in manager as smooth as possible.

But if we do want some ex players around the first team to help with coaching, Zenden, Garcia and Fowler are the better options. Shout out to Ian Rush and John Barnes though who apparently help out a fair bit with the academy alongside the King.

Pining for the likes of Owen, Carragher, Redknapp etc though just because they are on TV is silly. They've chosen the easy route of slagging off the people who've chosen the hard route. So leave them to it.

27 Oct 2017 14:37:03
Zenden is indeed making a name for himself, I hope that LFC keep a close eye on him . Def one for the future .

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not looking for ex-players to help with the coaching.}

27 Oct 2017 15:05:42
Ed002 - good to hear! Although if an ex player did well enough as a coach to be worthy of the job in the future on merit of their coaching alone, it would be nice to see.

{Ed002's Note - Sure but that would not be under Klopp - I just can't see that happening.}

27 Oct 2017 15:52:03
I always thought zenden might end up at Chelsea. Good young coach and he does have some ties.

{Ed002's Note - Bolo was assistant manager at Chelsea under Rafa Benitez - maybe he will following him back to Liverpool?}

27 Oct 2017 16:26:46
Do you think zenden is up to the task as head coach though ed2?

{Ed002's Note - It depends where and when. Bolo is a really nice guy, is well thought of as a coach and is a very strong personality. He speaks English fluently - and he is bright enough to do what is right for him. The only recent vague link to Liverpool is that he advised Depay to look to Liverpool rather than Manchester United - and that ended in a train crash of course.}

27 Oct 2017 16:50:14
Cheers ed and like you say, once he comes back to Liverpool to finish his apprenticeship under Benitez, his training will be complete 🤣.

27 Oct 2017 17:43:10
Don't get me excited now would love Rafa back, zenden would b good alongside him.

27 Oct 2017 19:40:21
I suspect ed2 is playing with you hailstones.
