27 Dec 2017 00:25:18
Loser of the league has Big Sam sit on their face.

{Ed007's Note - Ed025's not called Sam buddy. Grajted they're both womanising chubby old men with funny accents and both are shady businessmen but after that they've nothing in common.}

27 Dec 2017 04:17:13
A date under the stars with Ed001 in the sandy dunes of Arabia :')

The Seville game.
Ox is turning into the player I always hoped he's be for us and the everybody knows what the attack and mid is like.
I believe there's exciting things to come.

Happy Holiday Reds.

Ps. I sent that primaturily.

Hi Jx

Ox needs to do a lot more, his LFC career has only just started. But scoring the 5th goal or the 7th goal in games already won will not get him any prizes from me. I thought he worked hard today but his end product and overall passing needs to improve.

26 Dec 2017 21:31:58
Ox said it himself after game today: "I was a bit disappointed with myself today, although I’m happy to score. When the chance came at the end I was happy to put it away.

"In the first half we did OK and we stepped it up in the second half.

"I just want more out of myself. I could have done better with my end product a few times. Overall it could have been better.

"I just want to keep pushing myself on to do better. It’s important for me [to score]. Today it [the goal] wasn’t so crucial as we were leading by a few but I need to keep doing that. There were some great goals today. We defended well overall. "

Glad he’s honest enough to see he’s a work in progress.

26 Dec 2017 21:36:26
Reading this reply a new who it was before a even seen the name markp08.

26 Dec 2017 22:56:22
Personally I’m not convinced he’s a £35m player. But he’s done a lot better than I thought he would do and that was a lovely goal.

27 Dec 2017 00:47:50
We could win 5-0 every game and there's posters on here that will still bash our players. Honestly coming on here after a good result I find myself needing to check I wasn't dreaming and that we hadn't lost the game reading posts.
Anyway next up Leicester another 3 points will do me YNWA up the pool.

27 Dec 2017 01:10:44
i have to keep reminding myself that he is only what 24? he has been at the top for so long it feels as though we have bought an old seasoned pro. I think he has been a good signing. he has picked up man of match awards and scored a few, set up a few. what i've been impressed with is his reactions and ability to win the ball back in good positions for counter attacks. I think he is the perfect sort of cm for our Liverpool side. he is English so goes toward our homegrown quota. I would pick him over milner 9times out of ten. good stuff. Robertson is definitely growing in stature, although I like Moreno I prefer robbo. Klavan now looks the best defender at the club. I agree with milners comments that we need to learn to be boring. we learn to see 1 0s out and hold onto leads and we will be knocking on the door of city and the title next year. does anyone see us keeping PC? I hope so coz he changed the game with a touch of class.

{Ed001's Note - why do you like Robbo? I really do not see what he has done. He was not good again yesterday. He has a hell of a lot to do to offer anything to the team. Go back and watch how all their attacks came down his side because he was nowhere near any of their players. While Coutinho not tracking back much is a part of the problem, TAA was not getting much cover either, but he was dealing with them much better.}

27 Dec 2017 08:43:32
Hendo's Bro, I fully agree. Our boys can play well and win 7-0 (hang on a minute, that happened TWICE this season) and someone will still have an axe to grind. It's insane.

Superred, you may like Robbo BUT if you think he is "growing in stature" or good enough for LFC yet then you are wrong. The kid is still learning our way of playing and is still not up to scratch defensively in one on one situations as of yet. He still has a lot to do in terms of end product offensively as well. The bigging up of Robbo needs to end as people are building him up to be what is not at this time. Moreno is still ahead of him and has not shown that he can dislodge him YET so let the guy grow at his own pace and let'see what happens.

26 Dec 2017 20:24:48
heya eds, doesn't need a long response just genuinely wondering whether coutinho would still harbour a desire to leave / try and force a transfer if interest from Barcelona disappears?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, he wants to be playing at the highest level and challenging for titles every year.}

26 Dec 2017 20:42:59
cheers ed2 :)
in that case, let's hope then that we can prove we can do that for him over the next few months!

{Ed002's Note - I don’t think you get it.}

26 Dec 2017 20:49:31
depends what you mean ed2. I'm just going off what you said and as a fan hoping that we could still sway him to believe that we can be that club for him.

Or are you saying that it is written in stone that coutinho doesn't believe Liverpool will be at the highest level challenging for titles every year and he wants to go because of it?

{Ed002's Note - Coutinho wants to leave to play at the highest level and be challenging for honours every year. Liverpool can’t offer that. He handed in a transfer request and his family and agent have travelled to Boston to try and get him away from the club. He approached Barcelona and was speaking with international team mates about leaving 18 months ago. Take the hint.}

{Ed002's Note - he approached another side to see if they would buy him, his agent and family have visited Boston to try and get him out, he spoke of leaving to international team mates 18 months ago and has handed in a transfer to Liverpool. You should get it by now.}

26 Dec 2017 21:16:10
It’s funny how a better salary isn’t mentioned or living in a Mediterranean climate. It’s either the draw of London’s limelight or a warmer feel. Just ask Sanchez?

Couthino could move to Celic and challenge for honours but one feels his family would be a tad. Chilly.

{Ed002's Note - it is nothing to do with that.}

26 Dec 2017 21:23:47
I gave my post a thumbs down to thumbs down your replay ed2 lol. take the joke :)

hey look I fully get what you're saying, but as a fan, and I'm sure many other liverpool fans would have similar feelings, we'd hope to convince our best players to stay and help us be a club at the highest level challenging for titles every year. whilst he is still here and is performing, I just hope that he may change his mind! If he goes then ok we move on and go again! is there something wrong with that?

{Ed002's Note - He doesn’t want to play for Liverpool. He wants to move elsewhere. Perhaps put your efforts in to trying to persuade Salah to stay?}

26 Dec 2017 21:32:40
nah there nothing I can do to make coutinho or salah to stay. just support them while they're with us and hope that those with influence do their jobs well to keep building us up as a club at the highest level competing for titles every year! would love that!?

hey ed2 this is related to a question I asked weeks ago that I don't think you quite understood what I was asking. The theme of what you are saying about the world's best players wanting to play at the highest level etc. we seem to get near enough to that level and then boom, torres leaves, suarez leaves, coutinho MIGHT leave :p. what does liverpool need to do next to get to that level?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not at that level at all. Right now the only English side that might be is Manchester City.}

26 Dec 2017 21:33:15
Couthino might win the “ two team league “ in Spain and the tin pot Copa del Rey Ed002 but when it comes to major honours in Europe, the English teams are back.

City are better than Barcelona in my opinion and if Couts wants to play and challenge at the highest level then he should move to City.

The Premier league is now way ahead of La Liga.

So it’s all about salary an climate, he and is family are Brazilian after all.

{Ed002's Note - you have no idea. He is not moving for the money. When was the last time Manchester City won the Champions League? Real Madrid and Barcelona have won four of the last 6 and it was 5 years ago since an English side won. Typical ignorant xenophobic post.}

26 Dec 2017 21:44:08
absolutely, and man city funded their way to that position. I feel like you're saying that Liverpool should be resigned to being a club where they are. So is mega-money simply the only way to get to where city is? to steal an american sports' phrase, being outside of a big market like London and manchester, would Liverpool have to overpay their stars to compete?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has spent vast sums of money over the years. All of this whining that you are all so hard done by is as embarrassing as it always is.}

26 Dec 2017 21:56:57
ah come on mate, no need to jump to assumptions about my tone on a computer screen. I was genuinely enjoying the conversation with you about this. was hoping to get some more insight from you in terms of what the club can actually do to be at the highest level but you've just repeated that we're not at the highest level. leads me to think that you don't believe we can get there.
Which is something I asked about a few weeks ago, that clubs like us are consigned to being in the tier below and that's just the way it will be.

26 Dec 2017 22:01:40
I personnally believe LFC won't sell Pipco even in the summer unless Barça pays the due price. Everyone was saying he will be off in the summer but he's still there. And by 1st February we will again see him in a LFC shirt. And Coutinho isn't the only player who wants out, we saw what happenned with De Gea and how he behaved to go to RM, he was no angel and even MU kept him for the sake of the team. Hazard also wants to go to RM. Finally, most of the players today are driven by money (see Neymar) .

{Ed002's Note - What “due process” is that?}

26 Dec 2017 22:14:30
120 million.

{Ed002's Note - Not even a currency - this is why we don’t talk about money.}

26 Dec 2017 22:21:38
Liverpool is in the UK 120 million pounds is that not the due price.

26 Dec 2017 23:14:02
Faith, I am sure Ed02 only deals in fact or the present. Off the top of my head I can never remember any speculation and he/ she only seems to expand out side of that for their own opinion.

For my sins, I am the patient one! Only a few times around the late 80s did we repeatedly break transfer records I think! (Beardsley, Saunders) Even when we paid 35 million for Carroll, this was on the back of a record fee for Torres (Like with Beardsley, Barnes and Houghton with the Rush sale)

I would like to answer your question about a return to an elite team. For which we are close. To take the next step, we need to continue with the recruitment and unfortunately selling.

Whilst the like of Pip and Mo are likely moving on we will be handsomely rewarded financially. Its what we do with that money that is important and if we find players to come in and make the same impact that the above and others have made.

Of the 1st team players we buy in the future maybe we can also find some who love the club so much that they fore go the chance to win trophies.

Perhaps in the short term we can win a few cups and continue to make further steps in the CL.

However the key for success will be likes of Gomez, TAA, AOC, Big Dom and Henderson making progress and then maybe another 3 or 4 being integrated from the academy in the next 2 or 3 years.

To me this is a base to build from so as you can see IMO we are still a bit away from that base.

Klopp is the best we can get and while stats don't win leagues they are looking like they are going the right way, apart from the very obvious aberrations.

26 Dec 2017 23:41:52
Cou will move most likely in the summer, end of story.

27 Dec 2017 00:42:06
Guys, he wants to leave. Let’s just accept it. Let’s not treat this as football manager where we receive the transfer fees either. Let’s not mention money- that’s for sky to blow out of proportion. It’s not about loyalty or being a fan, footballers don’t think like that. It’s about playing at the best level and England is quite far from that level. Let’s hope the club scouts find a suitable replacement- that’s all we should be thinking.

27 Dec 2017 05:16:34
The team will always be more important than the sum of its parts - Coutinho is leaving, that's fine, we need to find a suitable replacement and keep building the team, improving the quality and aim to challenge for more top honours - long term I'd imagine it better not to have the disruption.

The real key will be who we replace him with - our track record of replacing quality assets leaving has been mixed to say the least: We got Suarez after Torres and, if you ignore all of his dreadful behaviour, was a good player. We got Aquilani to replace Xabi Alonso which was, to be honest, the beginning of the end for Rafa. Since the departures of both Agger and Carragher we have failed to acquire a decent CB (Matip, Lovren, Klavan, et al not quite doing the business) .
Who we replace Coutinho with will be crucial in determining how much of a loss he ends up being. He is a fantastic player who can change games on his day - we need to replace him with genuine quality, there is not really a like-for-like replacement, but it needs to be a well thought out strategy to adjust to him leaving - poor recruitment in this regard will see us take a step back, and if that happens perhaps more quality assets leaving.

27 Dec 2017 08:42:13
I expect a similar deal to Suarez, agree a deal in Jan for a move in the summer, in return he gives 100%.

26 Dec 2017 23:24:48
U mean "due price" Ed2? I don't know but I don't need to. I only believe that as long as the club doesn't receive an acceptable offer from their POV, they won't sell. As u know better than me Ed, no club can block transfers nowdays and still keep the player happy so they can only hope for the best compensation. LFC isn't the best suitable club for Pipco rigt now (better weather, more money, more success in Spain. ) . But, what if we win the champions league this year (like we did in 2005)?

I agree with your various notes ED abt the club wasting money on weak players. But I guess, it's not easy to attract the best players without the spending power like MU, MC or Chelsea so we always had to go with 2nd, 3rd or 4th choices. We just can't compete on the salary level (we have the 5th highest payroll costs, right? ) . I know that u will point out that City and Chelsea r more successful nowdays (which is true) but they built their success with the help of outragiuosly rich owners to begin with. That's why the Liverpool job is the most difficult for any manager as while not being amongst the most attractive clubs, the fans expect to win trophies every year.

Sorry for spelling mistakes guys, was in a hurry.

{Ed002's Note - Right, "due price". And the club can certainly block a transfer - and have done so in the summer with Coutinho and will try to again. The price is not a matter for here. Whining about Chelsea having a new owner 15 years ago and him investing money in the club is the stock "how badly done by" Liverpool answer. The Liverpool manager's job being "the hardest" is laughable. Why bring in salaries? Liverpool were third highest overall in the in Premier League in 16/17 and are paying Coutinho £200k per week. Move on. Liverpool are not so hard done by.}

27 Dec 2017 00:16:58
Ed2, when faith said what do Liverpool need to get to the next level to be at the 'highest level' that Coutinho wants to be in, we are in the champions league and with his help we can be in it again next season. But the thing that separates the best is that there are those that are happy to compete and those who want to flat out win. Now Couts might want to flat out win and that's pretty obvious with his requests, but what to Liverpool need to do to as faith said reach the likes of Real, Barcelona etc, or are you saying that level is unattainable due to the gap between the top teams and Liverpool? Because outside of Liverpool, I'm not sure many teams look at us in the same way they look at the top ones. Does that make sense?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool need to be challenging regular to win things - they are not. They need to act professionally and gain the respect of other clubs - they don't. They need to be involved with the "elite" sides that are in the strongest position in making decisions - they aren't and won't be any time soon.}

27 Dec 2017 05:15:28
Ed 002.
Interesting answer to say the least.

Players have always moved abroad, even when LFC was challenging at the highest level, Keegan, rush to name a couple, so it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

Barcelona is an attractive proposition not just for footballing terms but from a cultural point of view too. His family travelling to Boston and grovelling with FSG shows they want to move away.

I used to live with a girl from Barcelona and travelled there 5/ 6 times a year, it’s wonderful City with gorgeous fishing villages 20mins North, along the Costa Brava coast line - Vilssar De Mar, orenge De Mar. So I totally get the pull of Catalonia

But for footballing reasons. yes the two Spanish clubs have had it there way for the last 5 years but it goes in cycles Ed 002, I remember all the players wanted to move to Italy back in the early 90”s - that’s where the money was. but for me the pendulum is swinging, both RM and Barcelona are behind PSG and City imo and I can see either one of those clubs winnng the CL .

I think Couts is a great little player but he’s no Xavi or Iniesta. And let’s face it, what would you be rather doing on New Years Eve? Eating fresh barnacles and 12 grapes to the sound of the 12 dongs on NYE, or Pie and chips ( slightly exaggerated) in the North West of the UK?

{Ed002's Note - You are obsessed with money and location - it is simply nonsense as I have explained - How old was Coutinho in the early 1990s when players were moving to Ital? You don't seem to have any slight grasp of the situation whatsoever.}

27 Dec 2017 06:42:14
Well said Ed002. Many LFC fans fail to grasp that elite players will never stay at LFC for too long unless we challenge for league titles and the UCL on a regular basis. Top players want Barcelona or REal because they are the two most successful clubs in Europe in the past 5 seasons.

27 Dec 2017 10:19:42
Nothing to do with failing to grasp elite players want to move abroad or even to a top club within the PL. Everyone talks as if it’s only just started to happen within the last 5-10 years.

Liverpool has always had players move, even when we were top of our game, I quote again, Rushey to Juve in 1986.

{Ed002's Note - An example from more than 30 years ago - great job. Don't post anymore on this subject - you are wasting everyones time.}

27 Dec 2017 11:01:24
Sorry Ed002.

But it shows that players have always wanted to move on, especially abroad! 30 years ago, we were playing at the highest level, challenging on all fronts and winning.

So whilst, as you correctly say, we are not at those dizzy heights any more, not dining at the top table, giving Couthino the challenge he desires, winning the CL, players always have and always will move on.

Very few players that aren’t transient.

{Ed002's Note - I am not questioning the fact that players are transient employees of clubs. I have explained that repeatedly. Your rediculous obsession is that Coutinho is moving so he can live in Spain and get a higher wages as the reason is absolute nonsense.}

26 Dec 2017 20:22:32
Guys we just won 5-0 let's be happy ey?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2017 20:53:02
Well said Welsh - fantastic performance tonight by the whole team.
Special mention to Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
Scored a goal in a 5-0 win, interview afterwards he’s disappointed and wants more out of himself.

This is the attitude we want to foster at LFC 👍.

26 Dec 2017 21:12:38
Saw this as well Ron! Fair play to the lad looking for more Fri himself. seems he can be a big hit with Liverpool, very professional and very talented individual.

26 Dec 2017 23:43:14
The kid has the right attitude to succeed at LFC and we have the right na==manager to help him get there. Only good things can happen when all these factors come together. Great perf. from the lads, all round. On to LC.

27 Dec 2017 00:18:19
Too right Ron, I'm loving the Ox, liked him ever he gave Zabaleta the run around in a cup game in his first start and I said the kid was something to keep an eye on, He's getting better and better every game, Long may it continue!

26 Dec 2017 19:26:01
Good solid result. Fair to say Swansea will be a definite team to drop down this season and were again very poor today but you've still got to put them away and we done that today so well done to the boys. special mention to TAA aswell, great determination to get on the end of that stray ball and tidy finish!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2017 20:25:35
I feel sorry for their fans.
Sold Lorente, Williams and Gylfi and done nothing to replace them.
they were doing okay and the Board knee-jerked on getting rid of managers.

Good result for the Reds though.

26 Dec 2017 15:51:35
Surely it's a case that Kopp doesn't fancy any of his keepers. This is an error over the last transfer window. Let's hope come January or the summer we have someone that everyone feels confident in. For the time being we have to support whoever is between the sticks. Migs is obviously going to feel the nervousness in the crowd but it will be the same if Karius is in goal too. I hope this doesn't affect the performance.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

26 Dec 2017 17:07:58
I think it’s clear that Klopp won’t bow to pressure from supporters or social media. So, the more they scream the more he will resist. Despite our misgivings about Mignolet, that is probably a good trait in a manager. Mind you, he’d probably drop Mignolet if he had someone like De Gea or Courtois waiting in the wings, but he hasn’t- he’s got Karius.

26 Dec 2017 17:14:40
Gomez, Lovren and Mane have all been dropped tonight. Mignolet continues to be untouchable. Care to explain where the good trait is in the manager for that.

26 Dec 2017 17:18:39
Spot on jay.

26 Dec 2017 17:19:35
The difference is that people haven’t been screaming for them to be dropped, which proves my point.

26 Dec 2017 17:50:13
He seemed to have no problem bowing to media pressure to drop Karius last season, Klavy.

26 Dec 2017 18:29:38
He’d have had to be brain dead not to drop Karius, the way he was playing.

26 Dec 2017 18:43:50
Something, you're assuming that Klopp bowed to media pressure back then. I don't see that as the case.

26 Dec 2017 18:54:41
He had two bad games, Klavy. Not a patch on Migs, even before his string of errors this season.

26 Dec 2017 20:04:36
Why was mane dropped? We have games coming up thick and fast I'm sure he will start the next.

26 Dec 2017 23:46:59
Klopp dropped Karius due to media pressure and we were all there to witness the whole thing as Klopp himself addressed the situation, slating Neville and Carra right b4 the Boro away game. Who was in goal in that game? Migs.

26 Dec 2017 12:33:16
Not so much to defend Migs but at some point u have to stop blaming him and start questioning the guy picking him. If u keep burning your hand on the stove eventually u have to blame yourself for touching it and not whoever keeps leaving it on.
Migs is an average goalkeeper, that is harsh but it's true. It's up to Klopp to pick someone else.

Believable16 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - you make a fair point there AAR..

26 Dec 2017 12:51:27
Could not agree more. Mane who was our best player last season has been left out this season due to a lack of form, why Mignolet gets a stay of execution is beyond everyOne bar Klopp.

26 Dec 2017 13:03:30
Agree klopp has to take the migs tinted glasses off an see what the rest of us are seeing.

26 Dec 2017 13:04:52
Forster must be the only goalkeeper in the Premiership worse than Mignolet. Just watched Kane’s goal and realised there is no chance of an upset with a clown like him in goal.

While I’m on the subject of tenuous links to Liverpool, hat about Hodgson virtually begging for offers for Zaha. Palace fans must despair every time he opens his mouth, just like we did.

26 Dec 2017 13:13:45
Spot on, boys. I have posted the very same thing since the last game. Migs does not pick himself. In fact Klopp knows and has intimated that Migs is crap and wants Karius back in (as Ed01 said recently) so the only question is why is he not doing it esp. since Migs has conceded on my count at least 5 errors leading to goals and about 7 not leading to goals this season? This is mind-blowing. If he wants to be stubborn about it then it will be his head on the line cos Migs will cost us again this season.

26 Dec 2017 13:47:19
Who has Klopp said Migs is crap and wants Karius back in?

26 Dec 2017 16:40:58
Migs starting against Swans.

26 Dec 2017 19:33:31
At some point you have to accept that Klopp knows what he is doing and just enjoy this brilliant team that he has built and is the envy of most of the Premier League.

26 Dec 2017 20:14:02
Or Klopp watches all 3 keepers every day and has decided that none are good enough but needs to find buyers for Mignolet (not working out) and Karius (playing him in CL to sell to a European club) .

26 Dec 2017 21:32:24
I think you are spot on. Klopp doesn't think any of the 3 keepers are the standard required. He should look in the mirror for some answers because he knew last season Mignolet was no way good enough. We just don't have the money to buy a £30m keeper and then a few months after buy another £30m keeper like City. We have to get it right first time or we will never progress.

26 Dec 2017 23:07:38
Mugs and karius not good enough.

26 Dec 2017 23:48:59
Irish, Ed01 said so right after Migs got benched for allegedly having too many pints right before the home game vs Arsenal. If you have info to debunk this then pls, share.

{Ed001's Note - I never said Klopp said he was crap, just that Karius is his first choice.}

27 Dec 2017 10:15:39
I think its just been done!

27 Dec 2017 08:53:23
Duly noted, Ed.

26 Dec 2017 11:49:49
Any rumblings about who's in goal today? Klopp's got a big call to make.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - not at the moment putney...but it is a big call mate..

26 Dec 2017 12:32:35
I have my fingers and toes crossed that it's Karius! My heart says him, my head says Migs - he's made mistake after mistake in game after game already this season and Klopp has stuck with him regardless so I don't see it changing now.

26 Dec 2017 13:17:34
Ed25, it really is not a big call, IMO. Migs himself knows if he's being honest that he no longer deserves the shirt anymore and should have no qualms with getting dumped. However, I like Ried, think Klopp will want to prove some kind of point (whatever the heck that means) and play Migs. I REALLY hope he's not that dumb and he plays Karius from here on out. Seriously, praying right now.

26 Dec 2017 13:17:54
I suspect that even if Klopp has decided to drop Migs, he won't do it today because he'd be concerned about crushing a player he might need again if Karius gets injured.

What I can see him doing is keeping Karius in the side after he plays in the FA Cup in the new year.

I'd just make the change now to protect the team rather than Migs, personally, but that's me.

26 Dec 2017 13:34:54
He has to be dropped, outfield players get dropped or substituted when not performing.

26 Dec 2017 13:39:38
You may be right, Something. The fact that Klopp is playing Karius in the CL shows he has not given up on him and Karius has been solid in that competition bar his error vs Spartak. It may not be a question of if or when BUT how Klopp wants to go about dumping Migs. I say like you, just do a Pep (with the way he dumped Hart from jump) and get it done. No one would blame him, not even Migs as Migs has been awful at LFC for years now.

26 Dec 2017 16:21:52
At what point does Klopp stop cotton wrapping a player a show enough gumption to drop him if he's not delivering? "Afraid of crushing" MIGs? I'd expect that Migs, just like any other player, fully appreciates the nature of the game and professional enough to deal with it, good or bad.

If he's going to be "crushed" cause of being (rightly) dropped for below par performances, perhaps he shouldn't be playing football to start with. A player has to perform or perish. That's a reality managers must have the cajones to enforce and players the professionalism to accept.

Fact is that Klopp put himself in this right mess. He was naive (and perhaps arrogant) enough to overestimate his ability to turn a turd into chocolate. a bloody Ferrero Richer slab at that.

Even sadder's that he may be too far high up in his own pencil share=pener to acknowledge his own limitations and call upon some help. That'll ultimately be his own undoing.

It's embarrassing how some on here have elevated him to this super manager status. You get the feeling that it's somewhat a sacrilege to even to speak negative of Klopp. Uy doesn't matter that such criticism is made in proportionality.

A poster here even suggested that anything beyond top 4 Klopp would be overachieving. Smh.
Such views don't the club or Klopp himself any justice.
Klopp will rise or fall on his own merit/ lack thereof.
Stop with excuses and demonizing anyone who has a go at the manager.

There are no holy cows here. Klopp has to deliver at Liverpool. and am sure the owners expect much more than a mere top given the investment made into the side. Klopp right now is living off his somewhat fairly distant success at BVB, as Liverpool is living off it's past with practically little achieved in the recent decade.

Both have to get a move on and prove they worth their weight in gold. But with some of the standards set here by some posters, we be a long way off doing that. Time and time again people be rationalising mediocrity and failure thru all sorts of excuses.

Harry comes in for a lot of flak from the Klopp cheerleaders on here. Yet by far he's one of the most realistic of thinkers and posters here. There's a cult around the manager, and folk will stop at nothing to defend it. Sad

My greetings and salutations to you Harry and other like minded fellas here. You a cheerleader of the club. not any one man, player or manager. Keep it going.

26 Dec 2017 17:20:09
Great post RBL mate 👏👏.

{Ed001's Note - what a load of bollox. Harry slags off everything about the club and now he is a cheerleader of the club? Sheer idiocy. RBL you need to learn what support is as you clearly are delusional. I give up.}

26 Dec 2017 18:09:42
Ye RBL that was a load of drivel. Support doesn't have to be rose tinted, but it also doesn't have to be questioning the manager's credibility at every mis-steo.

26 Dec 2017 18:25:55
Ed1 mate I've got lots of respect for you bud . you've been here very very long but unfortunately you've got big tinted klopp goggles. In this matter I agree w/ RBL and ED2 sorry.

{Ed001's Note - are you taking the mick? Did I defend Klopp? I am sick of this crap, read my post or don't bother wasting my time with idiotic irrelevant replies. You have not got a clue about my opinion and I do not have tinted goggles, I just happen to actually watch us play unlike Ed002. And RBL is obviously clueless if he thinks Harry, the least supportive 'supporter' we have, is any kind of club cheerleader when the only thing he does is boo anyone who shows loyalty and support the ones who crap on the club from a great height. If you want to show respect, try bloody reading what I say before replying.}

26 Dec 2017 19:54:19
I support Ed01 100%. I appreciate Ed002 and very much enjoy reading his opinions and his insights on the premier league. What he says about what each club need to do to improve should be required reading, but when it comes to LFC, there is no one I trust more than Ed001.

26 Dec 2017 11:18:33
Hi Ed’s, I’ve been reading on social media and in the papers this morning that Naby Keita is trying to push a move through in January rather than waiting until summer, could this be the case? And would it be possible to do so? Thanks in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - its up to RBL leon, they are not in the CL anymore but still second in the league but i cant see it happening until next season myself mate..

26 Dec 2017 12:30:09
Thanks Ed. Would make more sense for him to come in summer in my opinion, especially with Coutinho likely to leave then.

{Ed025's Note - i agree leon..

26 Dec 2017 13:18:17
Naby won't be coming in Jan, IMO as LFC will have to pay extra for it to happen, I think.

26 Dec 2017 14:13:07
Is he worth another say 5 million mate too get him in January personally would be a good move if I owned the club then I’d definitely push for it also but I don’t a gang of minge bags own it so he won’t be coming in Jan happy new year too everyone.

26 Dec 2017
New image uploaded to the
Liverpool Player Sightings page entitled, VVD to Liverpool as the new number 4?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2017 11:54:57
A) Could've sworn that pic or very similar circulated in the summer.

B) Doesn't he have "Virgil" on his shirt instead of "van Dijk" anyway?

{Ed025's Note - im sure i seen...iscariat on his back SR.. :)

26 Dec 2017 12:32:12
It's just rubbish from Twitter. As far as I am concerned, we need another centre back and if it is VVD so be it.

Klopp needs to ditch Migs today though and pick Karius.

26 Dec 2017 10:29:33
I really think migs is going to start today. Really hope I'm wrong. This just feels familiar waiting desperately for the teamsheet with the hope that karius or ward have been given a chance. For the love of god, will someone reply and say they've heard a rumour of migs dropped. (Even if it's a beautiful lie)

Believable7 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2017 10:44:09
Everyone I’ve spoken too (a dozen or so regular match goers) seem to think Mignolet will definitely start.

Did you hear Klopp’s post match interview. Said something like 99.9% of the time Simon would save that shot.

😂 must be a different Simon.

{Ed025's Note - maybe its simple simon he was thinking of ron..

26 Dec 2017 10:48:03
Klopp has defended Mignolet during an interview. That tells me he starts.

{Ed025's Note - he said he should have gone with both hands jayden which means to me he was not happy with him, he is leaving himself wide open if he does start him mate..

26 Dec 2017 11:06:30
Ed25 the interview I read this morning mate had Klopp saying Mignolet has never made a mistake like that in the past and he has no worries that he will make one in the future. How much truth e said that is anyone's guess though.

{Ed025's Note - i dont know who he is trying to kid then jayden, himself or the fans?..

26 Dec 2017 11:22:03
All I know is that Mignolet has travelled with the squad to Swansea along with Karius. Hopefully Karius will start, seem a lot of people saying he’s worse than Mignolet on Facebook but let’s be honest he is superior to Mignolet. Should have started the season in goal. Yes he made mistakes last season but this season I think he’s been very good, made some quality saves, commanded his area well, taken high balls / punches them very well, his kicking is a hell of a lot better. Please Klopp just start Karius and you’ll see the best keeper at lfc doing his bit for the team. Come in today boys let’s get the 3 points. YNWA.

{Ed025's Note - they had better hurry back then leon...liverpool are at home mate..

26 Dec 2017 11:27:55
Maybe it's a cryptic threat. He won't make any mistakes like that again for Liverpool, he meant to say.

26 Dec 2017 11:34:46
Klopp is not going to come out and be overly critical about any player and nor should he.

Over goalkeeping situation is dire! what's new? I agree with Ron. Klopp must think that Karius and Ward are not pulling up any trees in training.

26 Dec 2017 11:44:34
Class some so called fans don't even know where we are playing today.

{Ed025's Note - easy mistake to make mate..

26 Dec 2017 12:31:28
Truth hurts. I meant to put to play Swansea. I’ve been a fan for the past 15 years since i was 8 so make from that what you will👍.

26 Dec 2017 12:47:43
Don't be surprised either way. Klopp has made some bizarre rotations and changes in the recent past, and there's no way of knowing what's happening inside his head!
That said, Karius was dropped for Migs after a couple of mistakes, so maybe Klopp will do the same this time around, or even play Ward, especially as we're playing at home? Like I said, there's absolutely no way of knowing what that guy is going to do, so let's wait and see in a few hours!

26 Dec 2017 13:02:17
My honest (non-negative) opinion is that there isn’t a great deal between our goalkeepers but perhaps Karius is a shade ahead of Mignolet.
However, Klopp is not putting him into the lions’s den of the premier league until his confidence can handle it so he’s being eased in via the slower, less physical champions league where keepers are protected.
Mignolet’s confidence/ temperament seems pretty rock solid, unlike his keeping, so he’s being used in the premier league. Maybe the grand plan is to move Migs on in the summer and just have Ward and Karius next season?

26 Dec 2017 13:06:52
No worries leon.

26 Dec 2017 13:29:49
I agree with you, Ron BUT surely something has to give. What you posted may have been the plan from jump as Ed01 said so earlier in the season HOWEVER, Klopp is allowed to change his mind as it is borderline insanity to continue to persist with this clown. At what point will this farce end? Klopp has messed up the GK thing from jump via his hesitations and stuff. Karius in terms of potential, is miles ahead of Migs, IMO BUT just needs to play more just like Gomez and TAA need to play more to get experience at this level esp. if the manager believes in them.

I do not think Migs has the temperament nor the confidence to be a GK at a big club and his last 4 years here has proved that. Karius started vs Arsenal cos Migs had been allegedly out drinking prior to the game so that shows that his attitude is crap as he thinks he's comfortable and Karius is no threat to him. Well, who's playing the CL games now? He makes the same mistakes and leads the PL in errors leading to goals since 2013. That is NO confident GK cos if he was, he would not be scaring the beejezes out of his defence as they and the fans, NEVER seem to know what he will do. If Klopp wants to go down this road then it will be his arse on the line, not Migs.

26 Dec 2017 13:50:14
Ron, I agree with you that there is little to chose between the two. Karius has had chances and has made mistakes too. Personally I just don't see any real improvement but id be happy to see him given the rest of the season to see how good he is or isnt!
Migs is not good enough for a top team, he's not as bad as some make out and the criticism of some of the goals he concedes is ridiculous. But the bandwagon is hard to control once it gets going.

26 Dec 2017 10:25:16
Do you guys feel City are unstoppable? Or do you think they'll have a decline?

Would the owners be likely to put their hand in their pocket if there's a chance at the title rather than wait until the summer?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - the league title has long since gone jxc, if pep needs players he will get them mate..

26 Dec 2017 10:45:38
Agree with 25 about the title, they are not going to lose this record lead.
I think he was asking about our owners. I think they are willing to pay for new players, title chance or not.

26 Dec 2017 23:43:56
This is why the premier league is the greatest league.

26 Dec 2017 08:48:19
Good morning Eds and all - Swansea at home, must win today, what's peoples predictions? I'm going for a 3-0 win to us.

Hope everybody had a great day yesterday!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - 3-0 for me as well salah..

26 Dec 2017 10:06:42
Klopp has defended Mignolet in an interview apparently saying he has never made a mistake like that in the past so he's not worried about him doing it again. That tells me Mignolet will continue to play in goal. I have no idea what Klopps thought process is when it comes to him. Anyway back to the subject Swansea are woeful so I'm going for 5-1 (they will somehow get a shot on target and it will go in) .

26 Dec 2017 10:14:51
You think I'll score Ed25 mate? wish me luck! I need it, I'm hungover, hopefully by later I'll be ready!

{Ed025's Note - get a bloody mary down your neck mate, im positive you will get at least one..

26 Dec 2017 10:27:01
It’s obvious Jayden, Klopp sees all the GKs in training and consistently picks Mignolet for the premier league.
The other 2 aren’t doing enough to dislodge Mignolet.

26 Dec 2017 10:32:33
The keeper situation is a bigger joke than the centre half situation in my opinion. I like klopp I think he's a great fit for us but he is rubbish when it comes to keepers an defence an this ineptitude could cost him his job in my opinion.

{Ed025's Note - if he plays migs today then you may be right TH..

26 Dec 2017 10:41:20
RON KEAGUE,
even if the present incumbent is throwing them in, our back ups are so poor that they can’t get a game. we really need to take a look at ourselves, if the back ups can’t get in when the first team keeper has been rubbish all season.

26 Dec 2017 10:44:26
Salah the bloody Mary trick work's just don't stand to close to the boss🖒.

26 Dec 2017 10:46:45
I agree wembley, we need to look at ourselves (gk coaching)

26 Dec 2017 10:47:20
Ron if that's the case then Klopp has no other option than to buy a new better keeper. Ward should be allowed to leave on loan and Mignolet to be sold in the summer, if we can actually find a buyer as I'm pretty sure he's on a high weekly wage after his recent contract signing 🤦🏻‍♂. If Klopp does not believe Karius to be good enough from what he has seen in training then starting him in the CL has been a risk that he has gambled on. Rumours of Trapp saying we are a great club are circulating. I've not seen much of him but he cannot be worse than Mignolet.

26 Dec 2017 11:00:58
Is it not a case of migs dislodging himself?

26 Dec 2017 11:09:51
Jayden - Trapp is not the answer, I’d rather save the money and stick with what we’ve got. GKs need to be suited to the premier league - that’s why Pep got Ederson. GKs who flap at balls in the air - like Mignolet, Karius and Trapp - will not succeed in the premier league unless they adapt their game. We don’t have the coaches for that. Trust me, Trapp would struggle in the premier league without a lot of work.

26 Dec 2017 13:46:48
I'm with Jay on this one. If Klopp thought Migs was good enough, why did the Ed01 say that he was slowly phasing Migs out by dropping him in the CL? It must be that he thinks Karius is good enough to play in some shape or form, for LFC, right? So if that is the case and Ed01 told us that Klopp himself does not and has never rated Migs (not sure if that has changed), why not keep playing the guy who has performed for you in the CL, in the PL esp. if the guy has kept 2 clean sheets in the PL games he DID play in if the starter has been costing you goals all season?

As for Trapp, not sure about him either as I saw him at PSG and he was not all that. Also regarding, Ederson. He reminds me of Karius as he fits the way Pep wants to play as in, a proactive, front-footed sweeper keeper with good distribution, something Karius is very good at. Ederson also plays in a team where he barely sees any shots as well so to me, only time will tell if he is made for the PL but for now, he is like Karius, very talented and needs to show more and do more, just like Karius.
